Locally owned and operated since 1947, Times Square Diner offers wholesome, home-cooked meals.
The food was very poor quality in comparison to other diner places. The coffee was served 40 mins before the food. The manager refused to replace the coffee given the fact it was cold already. The homefries were too big and overcooked (burned). The manager was really rude and poor customer service. Would not recommend to anyone..! The prices are high
Had lunch here with a larger group. They said they were able to accommodate, however they took a much longer than expected time to serve us. There was a 30-minute gap between the time the first person at our table was served and the time the last person at our table was served, so many of us were just waiting around for food while others ate. The food itself was pretty good - about on par for a greasy-spoon breakfast spot. I had scrambled eggs, french toast, bacon and sausage. The home fries were too large and overcooked though. No one at the table wanted more than a few of theirs.
Food was fine, standard diner fare. Staff were friendly and ensured our food was accurate before delivering to the table. Nothing to write home about but nothing to complain about either. Big portions for a good price.
I had a great time at Times Square Diner! The food was excellent, service could have been better. Sat down right away, got coffee then ordered shortly after that. However, our server never came around to refill our coffee or water - we always had to track him down. Tables beside and behind us got refills but ours didn’t… Besides that, the food was excellent! I got my home fries well done because I like them extra crispy, and they were cooked perfectly! The pancakes were soft and fluffy, very light and delicious. The breakfast here is amazing, looking forward to going back.
Probably the best burger in Toronto in my opinion. Staff is friendly , making it the perfect diner. Highly recommend !
I’ve always driven by TSD and have been wanting to try it for years and I can’t believe it took me so long! It’s a blast from the past walking in with the retro interior. It’s so nice, reminds you of how nice times used to be. We got in just before the rush so we didn’t have to wait to be seated. The menu was extensive and everything looked good. I got the eggs Benny and my husband got the French Connection. The food was delicious and the service gives you such a homey feel. It may seem out of the way but it is worth it. 10/10 recommend!
My friend and I wanted to have a simple Canadiana meal. Time Square Diner is the place. This place took me back to my childhood when things were simple and not complex. The best thing for me is that the food is not fancy, but it is real Canadiana. The staff was wonderful and super friendly. It was heart-warming, and for the 3 hours that we were there, the world stood still for both of us. We loved it and we will go back for sure.
Big portions off all day breakfast options here. Based on the suggestion of the friendly gentleman server, I got the Carbonator set which comes with a big portion of eggs + toasts + home-fries + pancakes. Definitely a huge portion for a meal for one person and you are likely to be packing your leftovers to go at the end of the meal. I paid a total of about $20 for this entire meal with a free flow of coffee. Overall, the meal here is value for money for freshly cooked breakfast set meal but it would have been better if the home fries were not as overdone as it was and if the eggs could have some fillings added in as well. Furthermore, if there were some fruit options on the side in an attempt to nutritionally balance the meal, it would have been more worthwhile the dining experience.
No clue how this is only a 4.0.. I couldnt believe the portion for what I paid and the grill marks and flavour were heavenly. I got the big breakfast as Im a 200lb guy but I didnt expect to be unable to finish it. Great decor too. Top notch 5 star Diner.
Good food and good portions. They serve breakfast all day. Food
Great nostalgic diner with delicious food and great staff. Peter took great care of us when we were there.
Update: my second visit was a lot more pleasant and most of my grievances from the prior visit were addressed. The wait staff was on the ball and made it a very pl wasnt experience. Old review: Lets start of with the terrible service (based on two visits)... 1. Got bottomless coffee without them offering to refill it. When I asked the server they said someone will come soon. This happened multiple times 2. I understand the place was busy but making us sit there and wait for 20 minutes for someone to take the order is not cool 3. Food is meh, so not worth the time or the money..
You get a huge portion for the money you pay. And they really wanna take care of you with definitely recommend!
Everything is so good ~~~~~~~ I recommend this place !!!! You should go and enjoy ~~~~ Food : 5/5
Worst service I have ever had. Impossible to get a coffee and eventually when the waiter came by he was h believably rude . Left our meals, paid ( with no tip) and left. A diner in the next booth asked us if the waiter really said what he thoug my he heard.
We had another SUPER dinner at Times Square Diner this evening. The chicken souvlaki with greek salad was superb, and Ive had that meal many times at Greek restaurants. The chicken was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the salad had great crispy cucumber, chunky fresh tomatoes, delicious salty kalamata olives, and a huge amount of feta with romaine lettuce and a great garlicky dressing. My husband had his favourite restaurant meal: liver and bacon (instead if onions) and thoroughly enjoyed it. Great food, large portions, and marvelous service from a restaurant that has been in business for 76 years since 1947 for a very good reason. I highly recommend this local, family run establishment. Well worth the drive to Sheppard Ave and Wilson Heights in the Downsview Community. Wheelchair accessibility: Flat, level access from parking lot. Also on bus line.
Great food great atmosphere. The service sucks u have to wait half an hour for your bill and another 45 minutes for your food.
Food was descent, orange juice has been declining. Used to be freshly squeezed, now seems to be mixed with something else. Poor service, had to ask for a coffee refill twice before topping it up. They gave the bad excuse of it being busy at the diner which is not an issue relavent to me at all. If the diner is too busy for the wait staff, either hire more staff or reduce the number of tables. The solution to the problem is not to make your customers wait indefinitely
Kind staff
Waited 10 minutes to have our order taken. Was ignored the entire time. We left because they didn t acknowledge our table the entire time we were waiting. It didn t help that we were the only table of people of colour and the rest of the tables that were being served before us even though they were sat way after we were sat, were tables with nothing but white people.
I had a very disappointing experience at this establishment due to the poor customer service. The waitress was rude and disrespectful, openly discussing me with others while I was present. When I declined to use a cup for my smoothie, she showed visible annoyance and hovered over me and continued to watch me waiting till I put the smoothie in the cup. I ultimately decided to leave rather than tolerate the treatment. This place has a serious issue with respect for customers, and I wish I could give it zero stars instead of one.
Very good spot for breakfast, this place could be cleaner ... staff is good and prices are reasonable
Times Square Diner is a must-go restaurant as their food is the best in Toronto. I myself have been going there for over 20 years and my parents have been visiting there for nearly 50. I havent gone there that often in the last few years, but Ill still go there whenever I feel like their hamburger. I hope that this place still stays in business for a long time so that I can have my children and grandchildren eat there.
Great food, great value and classic ambiance.
Friendly, quick service and food was very good and with large servings! It has a great diner vibe but is maybe a little tired. Food : 5/5
Amazing food. Their coffee is always nice and warm. Their food is always greasy in the best way. Love their mozzarella sticks, and their pancakes are amazing portions and fluffy. Recommend.
Great food plus amazing host and atmosphere! Would definitely recommend Definitely great if you re looking for a diner vibe in the city. Food
I have been going to Time Square for years. In my opinion it is the best breakfast in Toronto. If you are in Dufferin Heights area, give it a whirl.
Went for brunch with a group of 8. Service was great. Quick service and food was great. Big portions for reasonable price. Bathrooms need big update. Look dirty but dont think they were. Would go back. Very busy. Dietary restrictions: Had one member of party who is allergic to dairy and they made sure she didnt have any. Lots of parking. Lot isnt the nicest looking but does the job. Parking: Lots of parking. Lot could use some maintenance but it was free.
Not a horrible experience but not the greatest my friend had a hot turkey sandwhich but the turkey was not fresh the cook came with his dirty apron on and asked what the problem was we explained the situation and my friend was blasted as to his meal not a good time.
Totally satisfied with food and service ,well recommended
Great place for breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner.
Based on a previous review I went for Fish and chips..I asked if Fresh cut fries they came cold and they were frozen fries. YUCK...It took the server 13 min to.come take my order..The coleslaw full of water...The fish started off sort of edeible but then downhill from that All u could taste was stale old grease!!!And to top it off $2.99.for.a.can of Canada Dry Ginger Ale $34.40 I.was charged...I would not recommend my worst Enemy to eat here...And the funny thing a couple.of.days ago someone in my building had a similar experience...I hope they write about it NEVER EVER GOING BACK TO this TRIPLE GREASERY!!!
I don t know why some people are leaving bad reviews. I just went to Times Square Diner for the first time and thought the burger was fantastic. It was juicy, huge and I ordered a side of onion rings that were great as well. The chef came over to speak to us and was so kind. It s clear that he puts a lot of care into the food he makes. He arrives at 5:30 AM every day and filets the fish for the fish & chips, and makes the hamburgers fresh as well. Even the chicken fingers are white meat that he fillets and breads himself. He said the burgers are made fresh as well, never frozen. There are not many places left like this and the prices are very good as well. If I could say one thing that could be better, it would be the atmosphere. It looks like they haven t renovated since 1950.
What a great place for an enormous breakfast that also tasted amazing. Big doggy bag (but they enjoyed it) Service is very attentive, coffee great and its a very cute throw back to the 60s. So happy to have found a new breakfast place. Food
Went for lunch. The atmosphere and old vibe was very cool when we walked in. Then it took us 5 minutes to get menus, then we had two waiters try to take our drink orders. Then we ordered with one guy, he put our orders in, and the other one comes over with a notebook to take our orders. These two were working the same area, so could ve easily communicated like Hey, that s your table, that s my table, but no, we just kept getting asked everything twice. At some point when the place started emptying out closer to 1pm, the music got turned off and it was just quiet and dreary in there. I got the Canadian burger (on top of which I had to pay $5 for a rather below average sized plate of plain fries), and it was absolutely drenched in grease. The bun and whole burger totally fell apart after 4-5 bites and was just a disaster. It was quite obvious that everything from the peameal bacon to the beef patty to even the fries were frozen. Fries were tasteless, as was much of the burger. My dad wanted to get chicken wings, but wasn t willing to pay $19 for what they called 6-8 wings, so he got chicken fingers for the same price he got 4 chicken fingers on the plate. They were insanely greasy as well. Then we asked the one waiter for vinegar and two Cokes. We waited about 5 minutes before the other waiter walked by and we asked him to check on it, to which he replied, Well since he s not your server, I will get that myself for you, with a not-understood attitude. Then he took about 5 more minutes and we were halfway done our meals by the time the vinegar arrived with our $3 cans of pop. This all came to $57 with a less than 10% tip. The people posting good reviews must ve gotten the breakfast, because it sounds decent. The actual food is Kitchen Nightmares quality though. As is the service. And the Tuesday-afternoon-at-a-library vibe. Go at your own risk.
Ive been coming here for a few years now , and the food and service is always great
Friendly staff, clean old vibe brunch restaurant, great tasting food and big portions! Thank you!
We went with my family and my one cousin didn t order and wanted to try the food and the waitress said that if she eats from our food we would be charge 5 dollars! We couldn t believe it. The waitress said if one person doesn t order food and tries food from someone else order then they put a 5 dollar charge! My cousin was forced to order something just to try our food! Absolutely insane Will never come back here again. The food wasn t even that great. The only thing nice is the atmosphere.
super cute restaurant that s been a staple in this community for over 50 years. The food is delicious and huge portions. The staff always remembers my family and has our drink orders down on the 3rd visit. Food : 5/5
Food and service is good. Only thing is, I wouldn t recommend the gravy. Good fries!
Old school resturant there are not many of these left.Great souvalki. You get a real breakfast here.
Good food, affordably priced, good service.
Let history take you back to old fashioned diners where the food was FANTASTIC the Service EXCEPTIONAL and the total diner ambience. OMG the BURGERS are to DIE for and doubt you can finish it...no problem doggie bags are common! Thank you Times Square team! Sincerely Victoria ...a loyal diner at my FAVORITE Diner!
Great food but they are understaffed so the service is often slow
Best pemale bacon ever, get the eggs Benny they are to die for.
Always has been and always will be our favourite place for breakfast.
Honestly just a nice little dinner classic in every sense of the word. I love coming here with friends and family for brunch. I always get the eggs Benny
You get a lot of food def worth it
Simply the best fish and chips for miles around.
Great place for brunch, food was good as was the service.
It is what it is. A diner , breakfast was the meal at hand. Greasy spoon dining, but way better than the chains Food : 3/5
Good dinner food. Huge servings. Excellent service
Like stepping back in time 50s nostalgia. Great food
Great portions, good customer service, kind of pricey
For a small local, family owned restaurant, they have really done themselves quite well. The aesthetics of this place is quite spot-on for American hip culture back in the 60s, giving it an exquisite atmosphere of an authentic American Diner. The menus spot-on for what youd expect: steak meal, burgers, and their own homemade fries. Staff is quite friendly and outgoing, and especially nice people once you come to know them each visit, which the overall experience is worth it. If youd like to experience an American Diner, this is definitely one of those highly recommended places
We came here early on the weekend for breakfast. The menu is big and there was something for everyone. The portions are quite generous, so come hungry or be prepared for leftovers. The food came hot and fresh. The only note I would add is that while the service is friendly, it is not the most attentive; and, while the atmosphere is fun, the place would benefit from some fresh paint. We will look forward to coming back. Kid-friendliness: The atmosphere
No nonsense approach to food and service. Repeat clients. Food
Great pancakes, perfectly-cooked eggs, fresh-tasting potatoes, and a really nice [off-menu] Eggs Florentine. Very generous portions; excellent value.
Best French toast! They have specialty coffee options as well. My fiancé got the smoked meat and had enough left over for a second meal. Very tasty and very reasonably priced.
My friends and I went here for breakfast just the other day. The food was great. We all really enjoyed the bacon and pancakes! The coffee was hot and continuously refilled. Service was great. Atmosphere was nice. Overall, we really enjoyed and will definitely be back! Kid-friendliness: Lots of menu options!
Good food, great service, huge portions. A great local diner for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The owner and main waitress (older lady) are very friendly and will make sure you have a great meal. All of the 1-star reviews are about having to show proof of vaccine 1-2 years ago. This is a diner, people want to know the reviews on the food/service. Lets not make it about politics, trying to keep guests/workers safe or because you disagree with science/Health Canada guidelines.
I have been working extreme long work hours and found this diner close to a place I was working at, wow what a breath of fresh air, the diner has such a nice relaxed atmosphere and has the perfect old school diner vibe, I grew up in the country and it felt like I was transported back to that nice enjoyable times, what a nice escape from the rat race. Food was delicious and the portions are big, prices are great. Will definitely be back and recommending to friends and family.
A diner experience right from the 1950s. Authentic as you can get. The food is great as well - you get great slabs of Peameal with you breakfast instead of meager slices like other places. A loyal following results in a full dining room at busy times.
Salmon Benny was delicious, came here with my husband after getting my nails done and its a cute little retro diner with yummy food. Drip coffee was good and the staff were very respectful and attentive.1
Love this place! Nice friendly atmosphere. Best western sandwich I have had! Wish this was in my neighborhood.
Not your usual hole in the wall. The fare is simple and meets expectations. I enjoy the atmosphere and friendly staff who have managed this diner for some time.
I have been there twice and it was great both times. The place has an unique decoration, vibe. Regular prices for breakfast and brunch.
Great service, great people.
A nice chill restaurant with friendly staff and amazing food! Been here for years and will keep on going! Love it here
Wonderful place, Great food and friendly staff gotta purchase a TShirt from here. Thanks for a Great Lunch
Down to earth family owned restaurant.
Exactly what you would expect from your local diner. Casual vibe, great food, generous portions and a lot bang for your buck. Try the breakfast and definitely order the bacon. Youll come back for the bacon.
Great food, decent prices, great portions. Fantastic atmosphere. The owners havent strayed from its origins whether its the ambiance or the menu selection. Highly recommend
best diner ever!!! fantastic food, fantastic service.
Nice old fashioned diner
DELICIOUS food, great service, best music. It seems to be a family business. I ll come back for sure. Vegetarian options: saw a few Parking: easy to park Kid-friendliness: lot s of kids Wheelchair accessibility: The place has it
Always great food and great happy servers
Food expensive and not worth .
Always great food..old school. I had grilled cheese awesome
You want a place that just has amazing real food???? Then youve come to the right place !!! Everything they have on the menu is amazing or even if you want something they dont have, they will just make it for you. Try the smothered burger Smothered in flavor
Amazing throwback diner! Peter is a gem and the staff are fantastic! Definitely have the prime rib sandwich. Best in the city! Kid-friendliness: Lots of space
I ve been going here since I was 14 years old. And I m glad to see that it s still the same - DELISH
Dont get deceived of its old look and pretty driveway, the food here is actually really really good. Large portion, great taste, and very reasonable price. They have the best grill chicken salad in town. The chicken is so juicy and tasty.
P meat breakfast is the best!
Perfect classic breakfast and grilled cheese. Spacious, friendly service and appreciate the pride flag on the window + pride stickers at the cash register.
Good place to have morning breakfast
Update: Review section is currently being brigaded by antivaxxers, where evidently none of them have been to the restaurant. Very uncool. Bumping up my score a star as a result. Original Review: Originally came in for takeout lunch during a lockdown; food was pretty bad, and overpriced for that. Gave it a second chance and came in for breakfast, which was quite good, typical greasy spoon fare. Not sure what was going on earlier, but not willing to give that another try. Stick with breakfast you do come. (2/5)
Its decent only because its cheap but our server didnt bring us cutlery, never checked on us to refill drinks or clear the table. We had to rely on the staff walking by. I got the steak a couple times, ordered it rare and it came medium well, lol if it wasnt only 24 bucks Id be pissed
Cute hideout...good food and friendly atmosphere.
Ive been coming to this diner for almost two years. Its relatively cheap and the food is very good, so its the best option for breakfast in my area. Today, my partner and I decided to come for brunch. The food, as always, was great. Better yet, the servers were extremely kind and all-around lovely gentlemen. We finish our food, the servers clear our table; and instead of chatting, my partner and I decide to play a game of cards. Mind you, its a Thursday and were here just past lunchtime so the diner is quite empty. Less than two minutes after our food is cleared, were pulling out the cards and shuffling the deck when suddenly this old white guy comes out of the kitchen to tell us to stop playing cards. Mind you, I work in the service industry - and Ive had to kick out my fair share of customers for doing things against the stores policy, but I really cant see how two paying customers playing a game of cards when the restaurant is empty is a problem. We would have spent about the same amount of time idly chatting as we would have to play the game - worse yet: had we not been so suddenly uprooted, we probably would have spent even more money on drinks. Its a real shame because I truly do love this place: but I think I will have to find a new breakfast spot. It isnt about the interrupted card game as much as it is about the principle. If youre looking for a quick spot to eat, this is the place for you - god forbid however that you choose to read a book or play a little game after the meal. If an old white guy comes by and asks you to take it somewhere else, dont argue! Just pay your bill and leave.
If you need a jolt of nostalgia with that classic diner experience then this is your spot. Comfy atmosphere with hearty food to match, our city needs more experiences like this. Times Square Diner doesnt take shortcuts. You will level very satisfied. Locally owned and operated since 1947... That says everything.
Supports segregation and discrimination based on medical info and fraudulent case numbers of what is actually a very benign flu.
Wouldn t allow me to dine in without a QR code. It s as if they don t need the business. Odd establishment.
Rude servers, they still ask for your papers in order to dine in. Takeout was nasty, dried up meat and cold food. Never again.
Stuck up service food is blah
They are now by choice segregating people by their personal private medical info.
This is a wonderful establishment! If you do not believe in the protection and respect of others then do not dine here. Vaccine passports have been a valuable tool to help curve the spread of covid. I support this business and there CHIOCE to provide the utmost protection to their customers and themselves as workers. You people have no idea who or why people are more vulnerable to covid, but you should respect the guidelines they choose to follow. If you don t like it dine out or go somewhere else. Let s all remember there is a literal war happening in Ukraine, and other parts of the world. All these reviews are ignorant to the personal lives they are impacting maybe we should focus on how the earth is literally dying and climate change is going to kill us all but no we are starting riots over right dining in at a restaurant. #spreadkindnessnotcovid
This buisness discriminates against people based on their person medical decisions. they will not be receiving 1 cent of my money ever again.
The food looks good and I definitely would have gone here but they are still requireing the vax pass STILL!!! and I will NEVER support the place that #1 makes you give personal medical information to eat there #2 discriminates against people #3 isolates people and is unwelcoming. You wont get my money or business. I will never give you business even if you drop YOUR policy now!
You are keeping the vaccine passports in order to have a meal !!! Discrimination at its finest !!! Shame on you owners !!! Mayb I will make now rules at my restaurant and say no vaccinated people allowed here !!!! Vaccinated people may get my customers sick !! Just saying discrimination at its finest.
I have enjoyed eating here a few times in the past. I respect their choice to continue to require full vaccination for a bit longer than the government makes them.
Qr code required
We decided to go here and give this restaurant a try. The food was actually terrible. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. If I could give this restaurant zero stars I would. Save your money and eat else where.
Cant say what their food is like as they discriminate according to peoples medical choices.
Price is high and the place is not the cleanest. Didn t even finish my food cause I was grossed out
Will not be dining here if passports and discrimination continue beyond Ontario recommendations. Leaving family behind is NOT OK
I like coras better
Great food, big portions, friendly staff. Amazing for breakfast and all around great family restaurant.
Went there this week and left after they asked for my personal vax status. They told me they feel safer if only vaccinated people stayed inside. There is no science that supports this. Im fully vaxxed but I wont support businesses that descriminate based on junk science.
I went there with my elderly and unfortunately we were refused service as this restaurant still requires a vax pass. Although Im fully vaccinated my father is not due to a heart condition. It was extremely cold outside and my father has difficulty walking so I spoke to the owner and appealed to him to make an exception and he said no. I dont like leaving negative reviews but this whole experience has left me questioning humanity. If you are not vaccinated Times Square will kick you out. Shame on you!
I ve been coming here for the better part of a decade and I have to say that Peter (owner/chef) and the crew are absolutely the most generous and loving people. If you want the best home-cooked meal this is the place. A personal favourite of my friends and I are the juicy incredibly fresh and delicious burgers. They are like no other. If you want a beautiful meal on your birthday/ special occasion try the incredible steaks. Peter handpicks his meat cuts and make the food shine with his love and positivity. I m truly grateful for Times Square diner and the quality they have maintained and the old-school diner vibes. Go, and Enjoy
Great breakfast!
Love this place! Best breakfast in North York! Really happy they decided to keep their vaccine passport requirement. It s nice to know they care about the health of their customers!
Garbage diner
Not serving ALL patrons based on vaccine status?? Shameful, and not worth my business or any of my friends and families.
Great service and amazing food! Never leave disappointed
Terrible service. There is something wrong with the owners, they seem mentally unstable
Could there be a bigger dump in Toronto... this greasy spoon ironically is still trying to force people disclose their QR Vaccine Passport... Here is a pro tip, take some time to clean your washrooms and worry about your staff hygiene before invading my privacy.
Asking for QR code therefore making discrimination. Thank you for thinking about me.
Best place in North York to have breakfast! Food is very tasty, with big portions....great value! The staff is very friendly and efficient. Highly recommend!!
Went for breakfast and had a feast! This is old school cooking at its best, they do it right, from the staff and most certainly by the food.Im going back guaranteed.
Dont waste your time
This establishment seeks to divide and discriminate. Do not spend your hard earned money here.
Great diner! Friendly staff. 50s vibes. Ginormous portions and fair prices.
Great place to go for dinner. Enjoyed the vibes and friendly service. Great food (with great portions), too! Would recommend!
I was going to order something for pickup and then I see from the previous reviewers that they are keeping the digital jab passes. Such a shame, I cant support a business with such discriminatory policies.
Always an enjoyable experience with quality food. Peter and his family are very welcoming and warm. A very cool 1950 s diner vibe, as well.
Always a go to places for diner style family meals .. plentiful and really tasty food. Great family owners always a nice greeting.
Love this place so retro can t believe it s been around since the 40s it s a little piece of history the food is insanely good and always fresh I ve never been disappointed
Any place that discriminates should have the truth known to everyone. Plus the food wasnt that great to begin with. Regular pub-like food, nothing special.
Note that this place still requires proof of vaccination 3 weeks after Ontario relaxed the by-laws. I am triple vaccinated but don t feel like being checked by the covid police for having a meal. If you are sensitive, feel free to spend your money here.
Amazing burgers, good prices, good food, old fashion love it support local business
Great old time diner
I have been patronizing the Times Square since 1972 when Bill owned the place. I continue to patronize the Times Square as the current owners, Peter and Sandra run a first rate restaurant. Breakfast, lunch, dinner or just a coffee and home-made pie with ice cream are always fresh and excellent. Peter sources some of the finest steaks that i would stack up against any over priced steak house in the city. His ribs are amazing and the daily soups awesome. Every one of the servers are wonderful to customers, polite and attentive and the coffee much better than anything offered by the coffee chains.
Horrible service, extremely rude staff, pathetic food.
This place is still asking for a vaccine certificate, my group will never be back . Get with the program people and wake up Doug for said 1 or 10 jabs u can still catch covid lmao!
Service was good and quick! Breakfast portions were very generous and it was all good.
Huge portions! Food was yummy but not mind blowing. Decor and ambience was awesome. The service was some of the friendliest in the gta, the chef even came to our table to check in. Loved it and will be back.
Went here for breakfast with my daughter. Decided to share the meal because it seemed like a large portion. The owner said sure and brought an extra plate. When I got my bill there was an extra charge of 3 dollars for FOOD. When questioned the owner said it was for sharing and the extra plate. Then he tried to justify the charge by saying he has to clean and wash the dish! Seriously. Then he said it was for the refilling my coffee and extra service. If youre going to charge someone for something that isnt listed you should at least tell them. But the owner disagreed saying he can charge for whatever he wants. The food is average, potatoes had no flavor. Pancakes were average and the portions are large. Never in my life have I ever been charged for an extra plate to share a meal. Not worth it and should be avoided. Would ever go back and dont recommend.
Old style feel diner. walked in and smelled the goodness, saw huge onion rings on a plate. Staff were very friendly, food was great. large potions, good prices.
Good
A hidden gem. Great diner food and homemade hollandaise sauce unlike other places using watery substitutes. Lots of regulars so you know its well liked. The mature staff can be grouchy at times but that adds to the diner experience.
Food great!
I ve been going to Times Square since 2001. I can t recall ever having a negative experience. Everyone I ve recommended the restaurant to has always thanked me for it. Some of the 1 star comments and reviews are surprising to me, but I can t argue with someone s person experience. Peter is a great chef. I ve built a friendly relationship with him over the years, and it is reflected in his service. He lets me know when he has the best fish for fish & chips, or when he picks up prime rib. I ve had almost everything on the menu, but my go-to is always the peameal on a bun, which could easily make two sandwiches (ask to have it cut in half). My second is the prime rib on a bun. Peter will usually serve a nice bone on the side. I ve always found the portions to be generous, and the price is a little on the high end, but nothing is average price at most restaurants. The service can be inconsistent, depending on who you get. But I ve never been treated rudely or had an awkward moment with any of the servers. Worst case scenario has been slow service with one particular server who shall remain nameless. I m a big fan of Times Square. I m sorry to the people who have had a bad experience, but it just means less people to crowd the place, so I can continue to enjoy it. To the person who complained about the COVID police who continued checking vaccine passports after mandates were lifted, remember that it s a private establishment, and some of the people who work there have serious health complications, where getting COVID might be fatal to them. I know this for a fact. Too bad that person fails to think outside the little box they live inside.
Great food and friendly staff! The best diner!
If you like liver youve got to check out Times Square Diner, Simply the best
The quality of service is incredibly poor. After I was done eating breakfast I had made an order to go. I was waiting by the counter and I could see that my order (which I had already paid for) was ready. I attempted to ask the owner s son to hand me my order so that I wouldn t have to wait long, in response he proceeded to get upset and insult me. Genuinely dumbfounded that they are still open.
Great banquet hall for wedding receptions.
Horrible service.
amazing food and nice staff
Generous Portions, Very Good Breakfast
Every time I go in, I feel like I am home. Everything is handmade, down to the chicken fingers which were tender, juicy and crispy. The lasagna was the best I ve ever had. The owner is a kind person, who genuinely wants his customers to love the food he created. You can taste the care in his creations. I absolutely recommend. Be patient with the serving staff; they are human and absolutely lovely, even if they aren t as quick as the teenagers in the chain restaurants.
Service is good, food is good, the people here are genuine, and the price is fair. Its missing one star just because they do leave a lot of dirty tables around. Its fairly consistent that this is the case when walking in. If this gets better in the future I would definitely change my star rating. This is a true classic diner.
One of my favorite breakfast places in the city. Great food and great service
Best breakfast in town!
Great little diner. Classic Benny could use a fried tomato though.
Wonderful place good food and good people
Not bad at all
The portions are huge. Really great value. The owner and staff are amazing. The food was incredible.
Peter , the owner, has decades of experience making home style breakfasts and more. His cheerful dispostion only added to the delicious morning meal. I would highly recommend Times Square Diner to anyone and everyone. Parking: outside, in front.
Food is good and fresh pleasant atmosphere. Good service
Turkey Club Those who know how hard it is to find a legitimate Turkey Club these days will understand why it is so amazing when you find a place that still uses hand carved turkey that was roasted in house. Peter builds the perfect sandwich that stays together, does not fall apart, and that has just the right amount of mayo. Perfection. The rest of the food follows suit as others have also reviewed. Classic Diner, one that you might recognize if you watched Titans.
Great traditional breakfast
Its good. Ive only had breakfast, a number of times. We will go again.
The best experience! Definitely!!!
Fantastic little place. I don t think is possible to leave here hungry. I don t get to the GTA often but if I m ever back in this area I will definitely stop in again.
Very old school dinner. Food wasnt great. Service just ok.
Nice little place, service is good and friendly. If you like eggs this is your place. Portions are big!
You want the best Diner experience ever, Times Square Diner. This place is epic. A must experience while in Toronto. The owners and staff go above and beyond. The food is incredibly delish. I can t say enough. Loves it!
Great prices, hidden gem; when I went to the accepted card as well.
Love this place. Great food, great atmosphere, friendly staff, and the absolute best pancakes anywhere in Ontario (or possibly the world!). Been here many, many times...and will keep going back. Its a family favourite for us!
