Their rice bowls are really good. I always get the fried tofu bowl and I recently switched to their salmon ones - which are again very good. Highly recommend if you want something to keep you full but feels more on the healthier side.
I'm not sure if it was the Ramen I ordered but it was nowhere near the taste I had in Japan. The soup was nowhere near as tasty (spicy tan tan ramen). The chicken karaage, meanwhile was heavenly. The time it took to make it was quite long, making me hope that this is gonna be a flavor bomb. But it wasn't to be. The soda can was chilled so that was good.
Worst Japanese ramen I’ve ever had. I’m seriously questioning if the people who gave this place 5 stars have ever tried authentic Japanese ramen. The broth was way too thick, lacking the rich yet balanced flavor that you expect from Japanese ramen. The only redeeming part was the fried meat, which slightly cut through the greasiness of the fatty pork. Definitely not worth the hype.
yummy, not salty, no MSG as most other ramen shops
This place is a solid 3. Its just okay. I got the miso ramen and some parts if ur were good while others were not. The pork belly and noodles were good and I thought they were good quality, but the broth was disappointing, I was expecting a miso flavor and I didnt get that, I dont even know how to describe it. Although the broth was high quality I would not recommend the miso ramen. The piece of seawead got soggy and was unpleasant to eat. It comes with a seasoned egg which I did not like, but I think others might like it for sure since it's just not something I'm used to. Anyways, maybe I should've gotten the poke bowl. But the pork belly was very delicious.
Went on June 7th for lunch. It was awesome. The food was fresh and there was a deal on. If you ordered from the kiosk you would get a free drink. Portion size was big. I had two meals from it. Good quality food. Would visit again.
Never disappointed with the price, quality and quantity of food! Their chicken karaage meals are big in size and taste amazing, and I tried their salmon poke bowl today. Safe to say it tasted great and was fresh! Would recommend and would come here again for a great meal deal at fairview!
The ramen is absolutely delicious! It was delivered hot and was only $14! The only con of the ramen is that it’s a bit salty. We also ordered the regular salmon poke and it was hugeee! It’s worth the $14 because of the variety of things placed into it (cabbage, green onion, edamame, seaweed salad, daicon, cucumber, etc). However, in the poke, there was quite a large amount of liquid at the bottom (unsure where it came from but maybe it was sauce and the water from the vegetables). That made the rice and vegetables all soggy at the bottom which wasn’t the best, but basically everything above that was great!
Good Food. Keep it up.
BBQ pork on the ramen, is dry and hard to eat.
One of the few healthy food choices in the food court. Value proposition is good
Very good service and taste thanks!
Both the poke and ramen are plentiful and delicious!
Okay. I don t understand the people or persons who gave this place 1 star for the ramen. For a food court ramen, this place is exceptional.
Tasteless soup . Others is food court standard
The noodle soup is light, please eat it
Ramens mid but look at this beautiful chicken katsu.
Loved their chicken katsu sandwich!
On Saturdays the mall closes at 9:00PM. However, I arrived at 8:25PM and the two ladies said they were already closed. So if you are coming to this location in Fairview they might be closed while the food court is still open.
Do not eat it. The spicy Ramen is so bad .
Great spot in the mall , rice or yakisoba is good, fries are good as well , recommend bbq chicken , or spareribs
Good ingredients, well prepared and taste fantastic!
The salmon Poke Bowl was extremely healthy, the ramen was good too! Worth the price!
I m sorry, I can t accept this type of ramen, broth is salty, pork and egg over cooked, and the noodle is just like instant noodle.
$16 Poke bowl is getting smaller and smaller, so disappoint
Great portions, delicious food (way better than youd expect from a food court), and fast and efficient service. Ive eaten here so many times and I still plan on eating here again. Definitely a favourite spot of mine!
They give the whole egg in the ramen,
Ramen doesnt taste like mall food, very yummy, big portion. I often chose Fairview mall over other malls to shop because of this eatery.
The food is amazing but the staff in the front serving seem to be busy chatting with each other. They even gave my order to someone else. Request to the owners of the franchise to look into this
I got the salmon poke and the salmon smells so bad that I couldn t eat anything, will never eat here again
Always loved the food and staffs
Impressive quality especially considering youre getting it at a food court
Whenever i go to Fairview Mall, i always visit this place and get my favourite salmon poke. This never fails to amaze me. Hats off to all the employees of this place!! Whenever im in problem they are always ready to help.
Every time i crave for ramen yoi is my choice! My favorite is spicy miso ramen with some extra spicy oil.
What s going on with the serving ??? The amount of grill chicken for 17$ was nothing . I would go somewhere else
Good food!
Yoi has been my go-to place for Japanese comfort food everytime I come to Fairview Mall. For the price you pay, the food is tasty and portions are also quite generous. I usually either get a ramen bowl or their Honey Garlic Kaarage Box. Boxes usually come with rice, salad, and a few tasty sides. For a food court stall, I think this place is well operated and consistent. Give it a try. You wont be disappointed!
Fast and very good, a lot of bang for your buck.
The ramen was not good. do not recommend
Located in the food court. Delicious poke and ramen!
On Saturday afternoon,I ordered Miso ramen .Porks are very hard not soft like before. I don t know how long this pork keep warming I think it is better to control quality of food Thanks Food
Fast service and good quality food. Decent prices.
Food was decent but service was poor. Ask to accommodate mix of fries and sweet potatoe for my kids and they wouldnt accomadate
The only place I order food from Fairview. Give your staff a raise!
I ordered the Chicken Karaage Side ($8) and my friend ordered their Honey Garlic Chicken Karaage Meal ($15). Service was painfully slow My Kaarage side had a decently good amount of chicken given, with a side of spicy sriracha mayo (i think). The chicken was delicious but a little bit on the greasy side. The Honey Garlic Chicken Kaarage was delicious as well according to my friend, as well as the variety of sides given with the combo were delicious. I would come back to order the Honey Garlic Chicken Kaarage.
For lunch today, I decided to try out Yoi Japanese Eatery for the first time! I enjoyed a salmon sashimi poke bowl which was really tasty!! Will be coming back here again soon!!!
Yoooooooo the portion sizes are humongous. Got the plate (1 meat, 1 side, 1 base) and it was enough to feed 2 people. The food is foodcourt quality sure (I did love the honey chicken and sweet potatoes, with the side veggie slaw and noodles being ok), but for that price its definitely a deal!
Food is AMAZING and fresh.
Every time I go now, they say they re too busy to serve me and there is no one there at all. I used to order here, but they must have changed management or something. Denying service for no reason is discriminatory and I ll have to contact Cadillac Fairview about this horrible level of discrimination.
Chicken katsu burger if you know, you know.
amazing spicy miso.
Fan of their Poke bowl
Great quality for a fast food take-out place! Ordered a shoyu ramen and it had a good black garlicky taste and huge protein pieces with an egg. Broth wasn t too salty or bland, it was perfect for my liking. Overall great quality and taste!
Most underrated food court choice you can make. And affordable. Would i eat it outside a food court? Unlikely. But with the choices you have in the court... This place for its ramen and poke is top notch with premium ingredients.
Food was decent, but the staff was rude and inattentive.
Never get tired of the mixed plate with chicken karage. Love the rice, noodles as well as sweet potato fries option. Love it!
This restaurant is the best place to go with your family and hang out with your friends I really recommend this amazing place!
Bowls are very delicious, and I loveee their garlic fried rice.
Good food, menu a bit cofusing
Ordered the Salmon poke bowl today. It was so salty and couldnt eat it. The worker put way too much of the shoyu sauce. The rice at the bottom was totally soaked in sauce. I litteraly had to pour out the sauce. Ended up not finishing half of the meal since it was too drenched in soya sauce. Very disappointed. Next time I would ask for the sauce on the side so I can control how much sauce goes in.
Love this place. Dishes are really tasty and the quantity is more than what u pay for.
Pretty nice food in a food court. The portion is great and the quality is decent
I ordered chicken it was raw inside is this normal for the chicken karaage and felt sick. I showed them the chicken and they said it was because of the oil.@
The food was amazing and the experience was great
Friendly staff and great food
Ramen here is too salty.
Delicious
I ordered bau chicken last Saturday and i was on my last bite when I checked the chicken, It was still pink and undercooked. I just left it like that. Then Saturday night, my stomach was so upset and felt so sick. Went to the Urgent care and it was definitely a food poisoning. I wish read the other reviews prior and some people got sick too.
Very good ramen eatery, and they give you a generous amount of food for the amount you pay. They also gave me free fried pork which was really nice too. Definitely my go to place to eat whenever I go here.
Terrible food. I could not even eat half. The chicken was disgusting!
best food u can get at the food court.
Edit: Wow. First time back since COVID and the quality has gone down. Ramen is flavourless. Literally just hot water and noodles. Shame. What was at least 4 stars is now 1 star. Worst ramen in the city.
This is over my expectations, great ramen in food court. Good portion , delicious soup and thick pork slice that melt in the mouth. I tried twice, one is soy base , smother is miso. Both are very nice , prefer soy more as it s stronger taste
Ordered take out. The bbq chicken & furikake fries was good. The Yakisoba noodle was extremely salty & spicy, it was completely inedible. Called the store to complain, the server who answered the phone hung up. I called back to tell her what happened & she said: there was just noise so I hung up . Told her about the noodles, she replied: it s probably the pepper but it s not supposed to be spicy. I ll tell my manager then. She was about to hung up. I said so you re not gonna do anything about it? Good customer service ok, Bye! Their food is usually good. But the people who work there does not know the meaning of Customer Service. Not friendly or accommodating at all. Beware, you ve been warned.
Good food!
My daughter and I bought food at Yoi at the food court of Fairview Mall. While eating my daughter discovered that there was a bug on the food. She returned the box and the staff apologized and gave another box but we did not have the appetite to eat anymore.
I placed a mobile order, when I went to pick it up. The older lady said rudely we are closed . She could ve seen what I needed before assuming that I needed to place an order. It was not necessary for the attitude since I placed my order earlier on my phone, I just needed to grab it and leave.
Noodle soup is tasty but quite salty. Service was otherwise expedient, price was reasonable but I probably wont eat here often. Parking: Mall parking available.
It s been a few years since I ve been to Fairview mall, so I was curious to know if I d still enjoy Yoi ramen. It s still good ! The pork slices are flavorful, soup base is mouth watering and the karaage chicken is juicy and tender. So glad to revisit this place and even more pleased that it s still as good as I remembered.
Great restaurant. Enjoy it.
Very Bland
THE CHICKEN IS RAW. I been ordering food from this place quite some time and I really like how they taste. But as they start getting busy they start to overlook a lot of stuff, the inside of chicken is RAW, I actually have to spit them out. Will never order from here again.
Delicious ramen. But a bit pricey
Marginally better than expected for a food court establishment. Obviously, not as good as going to a restaurant. Had the shoyu. Reasonable quantity and quality of ramen and pork. Broth was a little salty and with a thin flavour profile. Self-serve ordering.
Their chicken katsu was great. I tried the shoyu ramen as well. Portioning of food were huge
The food is amazing and I would come back again.
Good fried chicken and great portion
Spicy tan tan ramen was salty
I ordered 3 Ramen and they are too salty and we didn t even ate half of the bowl. I complained about it and they didn t say/do anything about it.
Alright for the price, noodles could be a lot better.
Currently have diarrhea after eating at this place. My guess is its the boiled egg that got me, but the friend chicken in my ramen was also extremely concerning. Really weird and dark meat, Ive never seen chicken meat look so dark before. Definitely the lowest of the lowest quality. I somehow foreshadowed sitting on the toilet with diarrhea within a couple of hours and I was right.
The portion of salmon poke is ample, the salmon is plump and fresh, and the other side dishes and sauces are also very tasty
They use good quality ingredients for a good price. Very tasty and happy with the food here.
Amongst all the ramen shops in any foodcourt set up, this is, by far, the best one. The ramen tastes good, and the serving is very generous. And the best part is, it s reasonably priced. $14 ramen that tastes very good at this time when everything has gone up price-wise, is definitely a win.
This is my favourite spot to eat at Fairview mall! The food is such great quality. My go-to is the bbq chicken that comes with rice and a side as well as some salads. I find the quantity to be perfect for a meal. I have also tried the snack sized poke bowl and loved it! It contains a good amount of fish (large chunks) and a variety of other vegetables on the rice. I would 10/10 recommend this place to anyone!
For counter service, their Ramen broth is very good, portions are good too. The staff can smile or be a bit more friendly. However, I only blame the manager. I believe managers are responsible to train their staff and themselves to project a welcoming and courteous image to customers to attract business. Hopefully they will improve.
I order over 40 dollars of food and ask if i can taste the sweet potato and the guy that prepare the food said next time
Absolutely love the food here and it is always fresh. The quality has been the same every time I have ordered.
The food was delicious. This is my first time. I had a shrimp plate. I was eating in a food court. Kid-friendliness: It is in a food court.
karaage chicken & spicy miso ramen were amazing !
Amazing Chicken!
Love their poke bowl with spicy salmon
Awesome restaurant but I wish there was more to ramen there! But the ramen that I did order which was Miso Spicy ramen was very delicious! I m keeping real with you all!! U should go and try it out!!
Pretty good for an eatery. Portions and prices are reasonable. Karaage is OK, ramen broth is fair. My only gripe is theyve deleted my favourite item from the menu - steamed salmon on a bowl of rice with cabbage. Sadly no longer available. Also miss the curry tonkatsu offerings which also seem no longer available.
[Presentation] Its pretty good. The soy sauce ramen I chose has a strong aroma. [Portion] The portion of ramen is moderate, but boys may think it is short. I was given 3 large slices of thick barbecued pork and a whole runny egg. The ingredients are a bit sparse, only bean sprouts and seaweed. If there are corn kernels, it will be richer and better. [Taste] The ramen is ordinary Japanese ramen, but the taste is not lost. The barbecued pork meat is very thick, full of fat, slightly not very soft, and a little sticky to the teeth. Carnivores will probably like the texture of large slices of meat. The runny eggs are a bit overcooked but not runny enough. Overall, I think it s pretty good. Of course it cannot be compared with Japanese ramen specialty restaurants, but at least it is better than eating sandwiches, burgers and fried chicken from foreigners. It s a good choice to change the taste
Amazing food at a great price!
I ordered yakisubo and chicken Karagee and that was great, generous portions and high quality, love it !
Yummy
Not bad at all for a quick Japanese inspired meal.
I love fried chicken, especially with the Japanese mayonnaise
The food actually came out very similar to what was on the pictures, thats a good thing. Their dumpling soup was great
Bought lunch from this place on May 1, 2022. This review will be based on this visit so it may or may not be a fair evaluation. In my opinion the food quality was good. If I was at Fairview Mall again and looking to have sushi , I would buy from this place again to see if the food quality is the same as today
Definitely my go-to food place at Fairview Mall. Great portions, great japanese style food, and good customer service. Have gone numerous times the past year and has always been yummy
The spicy miso ramen broth with pork belly and eggs is a scrumdiddilyumptious flavour party in your mouth.
delicious food and fast service, for a good price
Love their food. It was delicious
Fantastic food considering it is a food court Japanese katsu and Ramen eatery. The Katsi is always super hot and freshly prepared. The cabbage salad, macaroni and soba sides are the best in my opinion. Tried the ramen and it is decent also, over food quality is top notch and portions are large. As I always say, give it a try yourself and ne your own judge!
Nice~
Expensive for what it was.
Limited options for vegetarians. But the food is good.
Nice place to eat
Wonderful experience
What can I say? Its fast food cant really expect much but this place will sure beat the rest in the mall when it comes to Asian choices. Chicken Karaage with spicy mayo and rice, MUST HAVE! Follow my IG @iamluckie normally post storys about food trips
Vegetarian options: Can make almost any option vegan or vegetarian Dietary restrictions: You can tell them to not include foods your allergic to n they will make it without. Wheelchair accessibility: Counters low enough that you can reach from even a manual chair.
My goto place for salmon poke bowl. Ive been coming here for the last 5 years for them.
I took the chicken katsu in a burger with the special fries. It was a real piece of chicken which is good. But it was quite greasy. The sauce was good. But they only have pickles, slaw and some other veggies, couldnt do lettuce or tomato. The fries special seasoning was ok but they were undercooked. Wouldnt go back.
I m sorry but no no no, waste of money and waste of food. I got the Spicy miso ramen and I will never buy again or go back. It s so BLAN like NO FLAVOUR!! I am not lying and I can t understand why ALL the comments are saying it s the best. No thank you again NO FLAVOUR , the miso soup at sushi restaurants are better .
Food was good
The short girl with round glasses seem incompetent and slow.
Good stuff
Parking: Free outside parking please.
Delicious!
My favourite place in the food court. I loved their salmon and chicken karaage. You really get more bang out of your buck if you eat here.
it is a unique restaurant. The food tastes good and it is relatively the cheapest in the court.
Love their spicy tan tan men
Its fast food ramen and indeed taste like fast food.. broth is oily and bitter..
I didnt find the food much spicy as much as I was expecting chili oil ramen. The fried chicken was pinkish.
The chicken I received was undercooked. My appetite was immediately ruined and I felt like throwing up
Delicious and healthy quick food. I ordered a Poke bowl with salmon. All ingredients were fresh and tasty.
Food stall in the Fairview Mall Food Court with decent ramen, chasu bao, karage
Simple menu, top quality food!
I visited and ate a spicy miso ramen suggested by my grandson. Now I regret. It was so salty, no taste of spicy at all. Just salty thick soup. It is a lot better to buy a ramyun packet on the supermarket and make myself in 1/10th price. I couldn t find any difference at all. Only difference was an boiled egg and 3 pieces of sliced pork meat. I ll nerver go there again
Decent eatery Ramen. I ordered the miso ramen and the broth was good, the noodles were great and the pork was excellent. In general the food was tasty and the price was worth it. I would return Vegetarian options: Crispy tofu Parking: Fairview mall parking lot Wheelchair accessibility: Mall, parking lot and food court are wheelchair accessible
Love this place! Food is so good fr.
Fresh and tasty
Very tasty poke bowl and was surprised the quality was this good as it s at a food court. I m just so glad I picked this one out of other food choices as I wanted a healthy and snack version of a poke bowl. Definitely need to go back again!
Good service and I love the spicy tantan ramen
Wow for a fast food in the food court its pretty good here. The food could take long depending on how many people orders. I opted for the spicy tan tan it wasnt spicy to my standards it was good tho I enjoyed my meal the chicken meat is a lil pink tho it looked raw but it wasnt thats just the quality grade of meat.
The food is soooooo good! Good portions and good prices.
Good place for Japanese food
Good customer service. Karaage chicken is the best.
The karaage rice bowl is addictive, I used to eat it at least once or twice a week.
My hubby and I love their poke bowl esp the crispy tofu. Each bowl is packed with a variety of fresh ingredients. Its healthy and yummy!
Great food- ramen and katsu burger are my favourite. Good prices for authentic Japanese food.
Bought two take out today and it literally has 5 pieces of chicken for a 8$ dollar Combo. This is the biggest ripoff of any food court.
Great Japanese bento food court option. Ordered the chicken katsu set meal with yaki soba and cabbage salad. Portions are generous and quality is good, the best deal in the food court.
A nice place in the food court of Fairview, portion size drastically changed overtime perhaps its because of Covid most likely but before Covid the portion size was a lot bigger for my usual order the Karrage Chicken Bowl. It unfortunately got a lot smaller and the amount of rice served is too small
Actually pretty good ramen. Little bland (maybe need more salt) for the broth but portion is good. 3 big pieces of meat. Very yummy Runny egg Seaweed, bamboo, bean sprout. All the toppings are here. 1 of the best food in this food court
Ramen is way,way way too little! Not even enough for a female! And charge $12.99 !!!! Not worth! Dont go at all!! And stuff are really unfriendly at all
Enjoyed their Yakisoba. Taste was good and portion size was huge for what I eat. Was overall happy with everything
Really enjoyed the BBQ chicken!!!
Wife and I had originally planned to go to another ramen restaurant for lunch but we hit a bit of snag with our errands at Fairview so we settled with Yoi located in the food court. In terms of ramen, you get a decent bowl with 3 decently thick slices of meat and a runny egg (Ive encountered other ramen restaurants that mess this up) plus all the other typical toppings. For the noodles, they were your standard yellow chewy variety. My wife likes softer noodles for ramen but we found the noodles softened up the longer it was sat in the soup. For $12.99 its actually pretty decent especially when most other places charge $16-20 per bowl these days. I had the chicken katsu burger which wasnt on their menu a few years ago. It was a decent sized sandwich with a crispy dark meat cutlet, a soft good quality bun and a generous portion of veggies and pickles to balance it out. It also came with a side of furikake fries which was good too. Overall - probably the best food stall in the food court at Fairview.
Their Tonkatsu was nice plus the sauce it makes it perfect!, Ramen was yummy too!
Rude staff. Terrible food
It was my first time to order from the Japanese restaurant and it was really awesome, the fish was so fresh. The staffs were so polite and ask every detail to make your meal in a perfect way. Thanks a lot.
Soup has quite a bit of msg
Really fast service and really good food options. Serves the ramen craving quickly. But this doesnt compare to Actual Ramen Bars
Got myself a tonkatsu Ramen pork belly, suggestion by the restaurant as the original ramen. I went through the bowl in 5 mins. It was very delicious. Little burnt after taste. Thats what you get during COVID time I guess.
Best Karagi in town
