Yonge Cafe and Bistro in North York

We went there for brunch, we ordered our meal and a latte each but our drinks never came. We asked the waiter if he could bring them but he never did. And when we asked to pay they wanted to charge us for the drinks even though we never received them (after explaining it to the waitress she removed it from the bill). The door also lets in a LOT of wind not very comfortable when eating.

Great place for the weekend brunch.

We recently enjoyed brunch at Yonge Cafe and Bistro and it was a delightful experience. The Dulce de Leche pancakes were some of the best Ive ever had perfectly sweet and indulgent. The turmeric latte was also amazing. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a great brunch spot!

I enjoyed my almond croissant and coffee in their lovely patio. Croissant was crisp yet soft with sweet almond. The service was the best. I go to TH and they don t care about my patronage. People at Yonge Cafe and Bistro treated me with excellent customer service. I will be back.

Worst service I ever got, super slow.

Very good and Fresh Food. Bagels with cream cheese, Spinach Pie, Croissant, Grilled chicken cheese Sandwich, Cappuccino s with sugar , Bagel BLT and BELT Sandwich were excellent.

Tried this place on a recommendation (and gift voucher) from my sister and her husband. We tried their coffee, spinach and cheese baguette and sandwiches for lunch. Really liked it.

Was there on Sunday and I had a delightful brunch. The service was great and they know how to give a great customer service. Will definitely going back !

Located in the midst of the hustle & bustle of North York and Mel Lastman Square, the Yonge Cafe is one fabulous oasis. We had a Saturday brunch there and Carlos (owner & maitre d) was most courteous and collegial. When we couldnt get the parking machine to work in the underground parking, he kindly went down with me to solve the problem. BTW free parking available! Really liked the Mexican flair on the menu as Carlos is Mexican, however there is wide range of menu selections available. Marvillosa! Bravissimo!

Family friendly. The owners are kind and attentive. Food is good. We always go for brunch and enjoy it.

Ordered a strawberry banana Smoothie, but it took them 10 minutes to make it. I was the only person they were serving , but it appeared that they didnt know how to make it or something. Unfortunately the cashier may have been having a bad day or something, but she lacked any sort of customer service. She wasnt too pleasant when I asked if everything is okay (since they were taking very long in the back). May have been an off day or something she may be going through. Smoothie was not worth it at all..should have gone to booster juice or revitisize. Definitely will not return. Very clean inside, so they get credit for that!

My Sunday brunch was amazing! A little cozy cafe with Mexican fusion food with regular brunch options too. The food was very flavourful and we loved the Mexican fusion. The owner was very hospitable, she looked after every single guest. It felt like a family environment with very good food. We are definitely coming back to have dinner. Highly recommend for vegetarian options or gluten free options. This place is my favorite family-owned spot! Their authentic Mexican dishes are delicious, and the owners are just the nicest. The have many seats available and it s the perfect place to hangout with friends or even have a birthday party! Tried the smoked salmon egg benny, Mexican Sincronizada Huevo Ranchero, and enjoyed sipping on London fog and turmeric lattes absolutely love everything about this place!

Its my second time having brunch here:) The Eggs Benedict was delicious as always, and the sauce was particularly mild. The staff, including the owner, was friendly and always smiling, making the atmosphere very welcoming! The only disappointment was the Matcha Latte. The matcha flavor was a bit weak...!

Such a cute spot for brunches & lunch! Sweet, caring staff! Lots of delicious food and beverage choices. Convenient location. WiFi available. The sandwich along with a drink that I got was around in $8 in total so great prices!!

This hidden gem is a lovely addition to the neighbourhood. Specifically the Mexican breakfast options are diverse and delicious. Classic Mexican food as well as standard Canadian breakfast items that can be augmented with spices if you desire. Coffee refills and you can even change the flavour up, they have 3 or 4 flavours from a Columbian light to a Vanilla hazelnut. I even received a complimentary churro after my breakfast with friends with Dolcé de Leché that is crisp, light, and flavourful with cinnamon and sugar. I have eaten here quite a few times and it isnt large but the food is just great and I would recommend it on a leisurely weekend breakfast with friends or family, or even a coffee and sweet on a date. Kid-friendliness: Very homey and has booths for a degree of privacy for your children. Wheelchair accessibility: No steps to get inside, on thr ground floor!

One of best brunches I ever had on Yonge St and reasonably priced. Ordered the spicy chorizo benny and it was very flavourful. Staff were super kind as well. They also have an expanded menu for mexican fare during dinner times which we will go back again to try!

Young Cafe offers an average experience. The chorizo egg benedict was too mushy and runny, likely due to the guacamole underneath. The meat lovers omelette was tasty but arrived a bit cold. On a positive note, the Colombian roast brew was good, and free refills were a nice touch. Portions were generous, which is a plus. The cafe felt cramped with too many tables in a small space; the patio could improve this when it opens. The service was good, and the staff were friendly, which made up for some of the issues.

Tried to go here the other day! Google is not updated sadly. It was -12 outside, so was looking for a cafe to sit and work and maybe sip on a hot beverage. It showed its open till 9:00pm. Went there at 7:55, and crickets! The place was shut.

Very sweet lady welcomed me and was so friendly. I ordered an iced matcha latte and she let me know it was made with ceremonial grade matcha and without sugar. You have the option to add sweetner, so I put honey. Tasted great- it wasn t too sweet. However, I think they could maybe put a little bit more matcha. Either way, it was a nice experience

One of my fave mom and pop shops in Willowdale. Elizabeth and JuanCarlo have an incredible team. Everything tastes delicious especially their legit Mexican food. We are so lucky to have this in our neighborhood.

Amazing food with lots of options for both Canadian and Mexican breakfasts. Employees were all very kind and helpful with great service and the food tasted great with good portions and reasonable prices. I recommend getting a traditional Mexican meal and adding a mini stack of pancakes (not very mini) for only $4!

Found my breakfast haven in North York! This spot has become my go-to for the most Sunday mornings. From delicious pancakes to the perfect cup of coffee, it s a breakfast dream. Great Eggs Benedict spot! Perfectly poached eggs, velvety hollandaise it s breakfast bliss.

They had really good looking Mexican brunch options although we didnt try those. The chorizo Benedict was delicious and the specialty coffee portions were quite large!

Came to do a service call and couldnt resist the smell of delicious food cooking from the lobby so I ventured inside. I was greeted by Elizabeth with a warm welcome asked her about the menu and she promptly helped me out. I mentioned I didnt have alot of time to have lunch this time sk she recommended some Pastries which was definitely a wise decision. I got the brownies and cherry and cheese Danish both were very delicious. We ordered a take-home Christmas turkey dinner from Yonge Cafe and were very impressed! While the whole dinner of turkey, gravy, stuffing, cranberry sauce, salad, mashed potatoes and banana bread for desert was terrific, the turkey, cranberry sauce and banana bread deserves a special shout out. Not only did we enjoy skipping the cooking this year but our toughest clients - our two toddlers - devoured the turkey! Will keep this in mind for Easter and next Christmas.

I have been at this location many times for breakfast. Nice people and good quality. Its not a fancy place though. its right on Yonge and easy to access. The entrance is from inside the mall in the winter and that will switch to the street entrance during summer. They have a nice patio style outdoor table as well.

Had breakfast here on a weekday morning and it tasted amazing! Everyone was super nice, the place was quiet and there was comfortable seating. My favourite was the latte which was made perfectly and had a breakfast special. Do note that the entrance outside is sometimes closed but there is another entrance inside the building. Place does get busy around lunch time during which people from the office building above come down. Would come back again!

Yonge Cafe and Bistro catered my recent office retirement party. They did a wonderful job of making it special - the food was delicious, beautifully presented and the service was excellent. Delicious green chilaquiles with eggs and beans

Was looking for a cute and cozy spot to have brunch and found this location on Google. I was impressed with the food presentation and loved that the owners came around and greeted everyone. They made sure you were taken care of and had a big smile. I also loved the coffee refills, I was in heaven. The online pictures accurately capture the atmosphere and would 100% recommend this spot. When my girls and I are looking for a brunch spot, Ill be throwing this spot in the suggestion ring. We will be back!

We ordered blueberry pancakes and smoked salmon egg benedict with potatoes. Egg benedict taste was okay and it was warm thankfully, but pancake tasted like uncooked flour and it was cold. I never tasted like this in pancake before so I couldn t believe myself, so we tried a few more pieces, but its taste was actually bad. I requested a replacement, and waitress kindly replaced my order with another breakfast menu I selected - egg scramble, toast, salad, which was okay, but not the same quality you would get at a regular dine-in restaurant or food from home. Breakfast menu taste generally can t go bad, so I m thinking it s temperature and texture making differnece in its taste and quality. It didn t taste fresh, and warm rather it s taste was like precooked food to me, like cold mcdonald egg scramble.

Lovely brunch on Canada Day, so happy they were open. The bagel n lox was delicious and iced chai latte refreshing. The churro donuts are amazing! Definitely had to eat them there since they were warm and the dulce de leche sauce was perfect!

Came here for breakfast and ordered the dulce de leche pancakes and a side of bacon. The bacon was nice and crispy and the pancakes were fluffy. They offer a few different varieties of coffee and free refills, and let you order a refill of any variety (although the coffee cups are nice and big so I didn t actually need a refill). The service was quick and friendly and the interior was very clean. I ll definitely come back to try the Mexican breakfast or their lunch specials!

Went for lunch and had the taco special. They were honestly incredible and some of the best Ive had in Toronto. Definitely remind me of tacos I had in Mexico. Highly recommend you check them out. Their other dishes looked really good as well. Service was super friendly.

What a service! The best brunch place in Willowdale neighborhood. Our server was so kind and nice. I havent had this level of service for a long time! Good elbow room at the patio area and fresh food. Only thing is my egg Benny was served little weird like one egg fall onto somewhere and sauce was not covered as you see at the last photo. Went to have breakfast on a Saturday morning, staff was pleasant and kind, very attentive unfortunately the issue was with the quality. I ordered an omelet, it was overcooked, the potatoes were half cold, half warm, and the sausage tasted rubbery and cold. Service was 10/10 Food would be a 5/10

Good breakfast cafe restaurant with decent sized portions at reasonable prices. They have limited indoor seating, and mostly small tables. Food tastes good. They could use an extra server, as the one to two they have are always running around serving customers, and cant seem to take a break. There is free underground parking at the adjacent arts center.

Time - Went there for breakfast/brunch around 10am. The place was nice and quiet (not crowded). Seating - Both inside and outside seating is available Options - They have various bread/panini options along with several salad bowls. They also had various drink options - juice, smoothie, coffee, tea etc. My order - I got everything bagel with cream cheese and a mango/pineapple smoothie. The bagel was fine, however the smoothie didnt feel like one. It was more of a juice? I didnt mind it, I just didnt taste the banana or yogurt (not sure what the smoothie part was?) Easily the best Mexican food in the area. I ve come here for breakfast and now dinner and each time has been SO good. Prices are reasonable, portions are good, and Elizabeth and everyone else there are just the sweetest people.

We booked the cafe for a private family event on Dec. 17. There were 24 of us for brunch and everything was absolutely perfect. We all ordered individually from the menu and the service was great, food was delicious and it was just the perfect setting for us to celebrate the holiday season. The Yonge Cafe never disappoints me!

I do not know where to start, slow service. very very bad potatoes. cold under cooked, un cooked turkey bacan, and they really struggled making poech eggs, you really need major improvement before loosing the bussiness.

My husband and I visited this past Sunday after spotting it when driving by. We live in the area and never saw it until a few weeks ago but now that we have well be making regular visits! Upon entering we were warmly greeted by the owner Liz and were seated on the patio within a couple minutes. My husband had the chicken enchiladas and I had the eggs benny with ham. Each were awesome and prepared with so much love! Fresh and delicious. Cant wait to come back

Absolutely outstanding food, I cant believe I waited this long to try this place! I think they have the best chicken enchiladas Ive tried since I can remember. Even the omelette was magnificent, the experience was wonderful and it wasnt expensive. Probably the most recommended place in the area The owners are super nice and welcoming, really felt great visiting this place

My wife and I had dinner in the spacious patio. We were informed that they have new extended hours Wednesday to Saturday until 9pm. Elizabeth and the rest of the staff is super friendly and welcoming. The food is fresh and delicious, and not expensive at all. Well definitely be going back to Yonge Cafe and Bistro!

Great place! Very cozy, the flashy common cafe beside it steals all the annoying customers so it s actually a great and quiet place with extremely nice staff and overall amazing vibe. Food was great and did everything a good cafe should do and more. Owner was so nice and they gave us free lemonade because it was hot out :))

Wow amazing!! I got the Smoked Salmon Egg Benedict and my bf got the western omelette. It was delicious!!! The breakfast potatoes were soo good. Definitely coming back!!! Great service as well!!!

This place has a very cute patio in a quiet area. I was very excited to try this however we were basically forgotten. I had to ask for water twice and our food took an hour to arrive. The entire food was cold (eggs, fries and bread). This was for our entire group order (party of 3). I wanted to ask for salt and pepper, as well as ketchup but no one ever came to check on us and the food was already so cold, I couldn t bother to wait or go in. It was then a hassle to get the bill. We felt completely forgotten and disappointed in the food. We had to go in to ask for the bill and the person didn t even wait for us to pay. First time not providing a place with a tip. Incredibly disappointed. I don t recommend, save your money. Tim Hortons would provide better food.

What a little gem in Downtown North York! The food is freshly made and delicious! There is inside and outside seating - the staff are friendly and the owners are down-to-earth and awesome!

The food is good but it would be nice to have some salt and pepper at the tables. There are lots of beverage options. The outdoor dining experience is comfortable. The road has little traffic.

Service was exceptionally slow. Waited 25 mins for my first $2.99 luke warm coffee (no refill) and another hour for my cold salmon eggs Benedict. The smoke salmon was pale and tasteless without any smoked flavour and they gave me 1 thin slice each on the English muffin. The cafe is a small sandwich place trying to serve a full breakfast, but they only had 1 chef cooking the egg dishes.as my friend has the omelette. However the poached eggs were already in a bath of cold water, precooked. The other chef cooked all the pancakes. Will not go back. Dont waste your money here. Total disappointment for a mama papa canteen. When one of the staff cleaned the table next to us, she sprayed Lysol all over the table and we ended up eating Lysol mist. So unprofessional and so unaware how to serve or behave.

This place is fantastic! It s family owned and they have some delicious items on their menu. On weekends they do brunchs and their chicken enchiladas and pancakes are amazing. They also serve halal chicken and beef, but be aware that not every item is halal so feel free to tell owner Elizebeth or one the other lovely staff your preferences and they will be sure to help you out. I ve been coming here for over a year and would typically order an egg salad sandwich or a grilled chicken and pesto panini. Absolutely recommend you check them out :)

Finally, The Rock has... um, no. Finally, I have visited this wonderful place. I was warmly greeted upon entering and assisted with choosing my meal. The suggestion was just right for me. Delicious food! I enjoyed every bite and my only gripe was that I had finished everything. The espresso was also delicious. This place has plenty of outdoor seating in addition to a clean, bright, and tastefully-decorated interior. I will definitely come here again. Lovely!

Food is great but the wait for three salads was abysmal. We waited close to an hour for the salads. We were quite certain they just forgot about us because as soon as we noted our concern, it was out in 10 minutes. They could have at least given us a discount for the lengthy wait. Not sure if we will be back, but no complaints on the quality of the dishes itself.

The best coffee latte I ever had in North York. Amazingly very cheap. In top of that very comfy and nice environment in and outside. The staff especially the waiter super cute ladies. It seems that The main chief receive and say goodbye with a nice smile to every visitor.

Expensive and inconsistent I work in the building each time I have gone here I am disappointed. Either they dont have what i wanted from the menu and I have to substitute for something else or things are just too pricey and poor value. The convenience of the location and the food is usually fresh but i think there is good opportunity for improvements

The staff were very kind and apologetic and the Cafe was so slow. There seemed to be no communication between the 2 staff working, myself and 3 customers ahead reminded staff of our orders at least 2 times each. Management could do well with a chit system to help their staff out.

Great food and service! We had a wonderful breakfast. Our omelettes were extraordinary. We also had the best coffee we ve ever had in North York, delicious pastries and a superb freshly squeezed orange juice! Thanks a lot!! Dietary restrictions: You can get lactose free milk and nut free food. Kid-friendliness: There were some kids having breakfast with their family and we could see they felt like home! Wheelchair accessibility: You can use the Yonge street entrance to the building if a customer has a wheelchair.

The customer service in this place Is very good. The food is good and it is reasonably priced.

The patio seating was great and so was the service. Unfortunately their pastries were not so great.

We went for dine-in breakfast. I felt bad because its a fail. Cold coffee that they nuked to bring to temp after I complained. My wifes toasted bagel came 5 min after my Mexican breakfast. My breakfast was cold as well which was drenched tortilla chips in red tasteless tomato sauce with an abundance of cheese. I dislike negative reviews as most places have something to offer but if i have to look really hard, then maybe its not there. Dont microwave my coffee at a cafe FFS. I believe that Yonge Cafe and Bistro are trying but they should reevaluate because they can do better.

We frequent this place quite a lot due to the tasty, affordable fare. The owner is the sweetest woman ever and really cares about what she does and the customers she serves. We went for my husband s birthday breakfast here a couple of days ago and they made the experience so lovely. They made his stack of pancakes insanely big and brought out a free birthday brownie. We love this place!

Super friendly staff, exceptional customer service, great quality of food which taste great and clean space. They even bring you steamed plant base milk if you cant have dairy in your coffee, so sweet ! Highly recommended

Im sad the menu changed so much. It was a favourite place to go that has not quite got the hang of it under new management. The servers are regularly unable to keep up with even low levels of customers, and food has arrived cold/mushy, items missed, etc. Im optimistic for them in the future, but hope they can make the needed changes.

What a great place! We were attending a matinee at Meridian Centre and wanted somewhere to have brunch. Outside was cold and windy, and I didnt want to have to walk through it, so I did some research and found the underground parking ($6 flat on weekends) at 5000 Yonge, which has a tunnel to the Centre. We parked there, went up the elevator to enjoy a delicious brunch with magnificent pastries! Staff are very kind and owner Elisabeth is friendly and sweet - you can feel the love that she brings to this cafe. After brunch, we went back to the parking and through the tunnel to the Centre, never having to step out into the horrible weather. Because of that, we left our coats in the car, which made for a much more enjoyable brunch and performance. Yonge Cafe was convenient, tasty, friendly and affordable.
