It takes a lot to impress me and Al Forat did more than that! Despite being super busy, everything served to us was made with great care and love! I love the classy complimentary touch of lentil soup being served to you right away, along with unlimited freshly made breads. They have 2 kinds to top it off. The BBQ platter is a great option with the variety of rice and fries. There were also a multitude of dipping sauce options. Hummus and garlic to die for! My favorite was the ground beef kebab and the beef shawarma. It was fatty and charred perfectly. It came on a flatbread which soaked up all the fat. Just wow! The Samoon Bread sandwiches is amazing as well! Best of all, the prices are extremely reasonable. Highly recommend! They have another location in Scarborough.
I ordered a chicken swaramam samoon and a mshakal samoon. They first gave me someone's order. After that was fixed, I realized too late that they give me a falfel samoon instead of mshakal; I know this since it was missing several items. The mshakal also cost more too so I basically got scammed by them. -the samoon bread wasn't toasted or warmed up -for the chicken swaramam samoon, they give you alot of chicken, but it makes the bread fall apart. -it seems like Iraqi swaramam has much less toppings vs other country's. Overall I will not come back.

This Iraqi spot was awesome! The staff was friendly, service was quick, and the place was really clean. You could tell they put care into everything, especially the shawarma; the beef was tender and had this amazing spice to it. But the spicy falafel was the star. Don’t skip it! Great place if you’re craving something authentic.
Had the best falafel ever! Garlic sauce is top class. I chose Naan bread for the falafel wrap. I absolutely loved it as they grilled it perfectly and ingredients were very well distributed! Their fries(with powdered seasoning) are so good and have got a nice crunch. Nice flavors, portion size was very good and the place was kept clean. The staff members I met(Khaled, Fatima, Ramadan), were very polite, friendly and smiling. I've been to both locations. My honest opinion: the Mississauga one is fancier but overall, although North York one is smaller, it is much better.
Rebranding with a new look. Recently visited this location for their family feast event at the Thanksgiving Monday. Everything was epic. Amazing deals and great tasting Iraqi street food. The beef lamb shawarma is one of the most authentic shawarma in GTA. Perfect juicy chicken one is grilled to perfection. Their mixed grill bbq platter has tasteful meats variety that are bursting with authentic flavours. Their quantity is also very ample to sharing and enjoying. I’m a huge fan of their salads & dips. The eggplant salad is one of my most favourite. The fresh Samoon baked makes a perfect sandwich bread for their lamb beef shawarma with all the dips and condiments. They also serve Arabi platters with salads and shawarma cut into pieces for easy eating. Which is super convenient with a decent quantity worth sharing. Overall a very authentic Iraqi food and a delicious experience for everyone with great customer service as always. Do checkout this location for more specials until end of October.
Passing through the area at lunch time so I figured I would give this well reviewed place a try. There are no shortage of shawarma spots in the area but the fresh bread was the deciding factor for me today. The chicken shawarma sandwich was prepared quickly and the first thing that stood out is the unique shape of the bread, which is called 'samoon'. Growing up in the Middle East, I ate a lot of samoon but it was not shaped like this. The bread did seem fresh but it wasn't warm. I was expecting it to be warm or warmed up which would have been a nice plus. However the chicken here is delicious. Typically shawarma is more on the salty side and frequently quite greasy but that wasn't the case here. The chicken is tender but not mushy/oily. The garlic sauce and pickles were excellent too but eh chicken was the centerpiece here. Overall, a decent shawarma. I think it would have been better warmed up but I would like to return for the saj version as those were being baked as I sat there. If you're in the area, give this place a try and skip the osmows that is located in the same plaza.

We ordered the BBQ mix platter that came with 2 kebabs, chicken and lamb tikka skewer, chicken and lamb shawarma, 3 falafel, 3 varieties of rice, BBQ and pickled veggies, tzatziki sauce, hummus and 2 pita breads. The food was fantastic and the staff were very friendly and kept checking if we needed anything. I will come back once again, highly recommended.
Very dry lamb and beef wrap something was off with the toppings unusual bitter taste service was very long only a few customers inside ......staff seemed extremely over worked and tired..restaurant was freezing inside ...I will try another dish next time hoping to be better

I was surprised I didnt immediately consume this before getting home to take a picture, as the smell of the grilled meats permeating through the container was unbelievably enticing. Normally this huge portion might have been enough for two, but you wont want to share this plate of chicken tikka, lamb tikka, and beef kabob that are grilled to juicy perfection with a breath of subtle smokiness that emanates through every bite. While the chicken is marinated with a tangy yogurt sauce, the lamb tikka provides the lamb gaminess that I constantly crave, and the mix of fatty and lean meat in the kabob ensures a crisp exterior and a juicy interior. The grilled tomatoes and onions are super sweet, and compliment the meats like husband and wife as the freshly baked pita bread is the child. The rice is fluffy and serves as a napkin to soak up all the delicious meat juices, and the assortment of pickled vegetables is a nice palate cleanser so no bite is overly fatty. Finally, the hummus and toum sauce add a choice of heterogeneity throughout your meal, so each bite remains exciting and unique.

Definitely one of the best shawarmas I have had. Their samoon bread and the wrap that they make in house truly makes a difference in the overall taste of the shawarma. I never realized how important the bread was for shwarmas until I tried this place. Price is also very affordable for the portion. Highly recommend.

Alforat has taken the GTA food scene by storm, and for good reason. This Iraqi restaurant has been making waves on Instagram and TikTok, although ive been visiting them since they opened but their consistently is still the same and now after trying their family platter, I can see why. The platter was a feast for the senses, featuring a delectable assortment of 10 skewers of chcoke, lamb kebabs, two types of aromatic rice, crispy fries, flavorful falafel, and tender chicken and beef shawarma meat. The tandoor bread was the perfect vehicle for all these delicious flavors. While the family platter was a standout, I also enjoyed their signature lamb samoon. Based on the overwhelming popularity of this dish, I have high expectations. You can experience truly authentic and unforgettable dining experience, whereas its hard time say when you visit their missisauga ridgeway location as its always packed and theres a line up. Plus they dont take restorations.

Delicious shawarma, but my biggest issue is the service. I wouldve given them a pass, but waiting for over 15 minutes for only 1 or 2 wraps should not happen 3 times in a row. Dont get me wrong, its worth the wait, but when I saw that they dropped another customers falafel, then proceeded to serve them that same food, I knew I wasnt coming back.

The decoration it s pretty cool but i ordered food like 3 sandwiches and fries and waited about an hour plus employees fighting between each other and chicken pieces on the floor i would not recommend to buy from this restaurant and im not even buying from them zero test, bad service. The first time that I tried better then now.

Ordered in person three sandwiches and fries at 7:50pm and received the sandwiches at 8:45pm very slow service employees fighting between each other and they don t respect customers plus the order got cold and they missed the fries on top of all this chicken pieces on floor two tables not clean bad service the most important test it was really bad I would give zero out of 10 not even recommend to trying at this restaurant very bad.

I had an amazing dining experience at Alforat Restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious everything from the lentil soup, which made for a perfect appetizer, to the tea that wrapped up the meal beautifully. The customer service was exceptional, especially from Noor, who went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcomed and well taken care of. If youre looking for great food and outstanding service, this is the place to be. Highly recommended!

I had the best chicken shawarma and falafel samoon. Its gonna be my favourite shawarma spot and a reason to go to Toronto. They have an offer going on where I got a free shawarma and Lentil soup. The workers are very lazy people. Imagine waiting 15 minutes for them to bring you falafel. It is a strange thing. It is strange if this restaurant is in Iraq and no one buys from you. 6 people work in the restaurant but no one cares.

Very delicious and good quality wraps and falafel
Super clean store, fresh tasty food and superb customer service! I had the chicken shawarma Iraqi style. The chicken was moist and tasty, toppings were fresh and crunchy and bread as Homer says arghhhhhhh. The bread is next to none! It took me back to when I first had it in Iraq. Overall, a five out of five on everything. This restaurant is underrated and had it been in a busy area, it would ve become a hotspot.

I wanted to take my mom somewhere delicious for lunch. I found this place on Google and read through the reviews. It did not disappoint! The food was extremely tasty, the place was very clean and bright, and the people working there (Omar and Ramadan) were very helpful. We will for sure be back here to try other things on their menu!
The first time we went, this place was great. We went again tonight and the quality is just not the same. Tiny portions, the wrap was falling apart, no sauce in the wrap. Just awful. Whats going on guys?! Perhaps your employees will need to be re-trained on quality control. Nevertheless, we will not be returning as there are many other options.

Wanted to try this place because of the 4.7 star average rating. Was very disappointed. Chicken shawarma was terrible the chicken had no flavor at all and the toppings did not taste fresh either. Unfortunately its the worst shawarma Ive ever had

Most of the food is OK, (4.7 rating is overrated) except that all kind of beef is too fat. I placed a big order 1 day before and they finish it late. The lids for all plates were too loose. Didn t like the experience and not going to repeat it again .

I ve never had Iraqi food before and I asked for everything the way it would be served in Iraq. Omar, Khaled and Ahmed were very friendly and obviously talented in the kitchen. They re also opening a new location around Yonge and Dundas.

The falafel in Iraqi samoan is a must try! Very fresh crispy from outside and fluffy from inside, authentic iraqi flavor with amba sauce. The sandwich can make you full and very satisfied! The quality of the beef and lamb wrap was awful. It was without any taste and it was too soggy, even I cannot eat it! There were not any sauce or pickles in may sandwich and I won t go there anymore. Don t waste your money by going there.

Best Shawarma I ever had, full of flavour and wrapped in freshly baked soft wrap. Truly enjoyed and coming back again. Hats off to the team!
Order at the counter and sit wherever you like. The cashier was able to recommend a platter rather than the 2-3 meals we were going to order so we got more food for less $. The platter was loaded with excellent fresh foods! With everything separated as a build your own plate or sandwich even my picky kids ate. Really bright and clean atmosphere! If you have a picky eater, and they like their fries plain, mention it as you order because their default seems to be to sprinkle them with delicious salt and spices but it turned the little one off. Not to worry, she filled up on bread. Vegetarian options: Falafel was the best I ve possibly ever had and the hummus was excellent!

I ve had sumaq, shawarma empire, alphas downtown and flaming stove prior to this alforats beef/chicken shawarma mix might be the best shawarma I ve had in the city. I can t say enough good things about this. Fresh and delicious and tons of meat and lots of flavors! Will be back real soon!

Everything Ive tried from them has been an absolute hit! (Chicken tandoor wrap, beef & lamb tandoor wrap, and chicken samoon sandwich). Service is great and they gave us complementary lentil soup. This is currently my favourite shawarma spot in the city and that says a lot
Well.. we were on our way to another restaurant but my sister insisted that i need to try this place and let me tell you i am really glad that i did . Of course i had to try a little bit of everything to be able to write a proper review . Alright lets do this first we were greeted by Noor , she walked us through the menu and she was truly great . I couldn t help but notice the gentleman who was making the amazing fresh bread Ramdan thank you for making such an amazing bread . We tried the chicken wrap , beef wrap , lentil soup , lamb and beef plate , chicken plate , falafel , and hummus dip , . Honestly you really should go there and try their food , it was really different and i mean good different . My favourite was beef with tabouli , hummus dip , beef wrap and i really liked the soup .

Just had a very bad experience at this place. I bought 3 shawarmas yesterday and the person who made the shawarmas seemed like he has never made a sandwich... Nevermind a shawarma. I had to tell him that the meat looked dry, to use a freshly cut meat. He did that for one lamb shawarma but nt for the other two chicken ones. The chicken shawarmas were the worst Ive ever had. Mind you, these shawarmas are almost $10 each
We ordered sandwiches at Al Forat, and I have to say, Waleed, the chef, really did an amazing job. The sandwiches were packed with flavor and had that perfect balance of ingredients. You can tell he puts a lot of thought into his cooking. Noor was the one who billed us, and she was friendly and efficient, making the whole process smooth. The combination of great food and excellent service made for a really enjoyable meal. I d definitely recommend checking it out if youre in the area!

Super tasty food with fantastic flavors. The only downside was that the meat and the bread were soaked in fat. Im not sure if the excessive fat was from the meat itself (which would be fine), or was added later (which wouldnt be a good idea at all).
Alforat changed the game - hands down - the BEST shawarma and lentil soup ever. Their service and atmosphere were amazing too - very clean and kind service and they have an incredible promotion running right now order one shawarma get a second free and free lentil soup for dine-in. Looking forward to trying their family platter.

The food was really good, one of the best Iraqi shawarma, the two women (Fatima and Nada) at the front were truly amazing, they took care of our order and constantly checked if we need anything, i will definitely make this place at top of my personal favorite food places

This was our first time eating at Alforat. The staff were so kind and welcoming. We received free soup and offered tea at the end of our meal-so generous! We loved the falafel, its the best falafel we have had so far! Will definitely be coming back to try other menu items.

Listen this place is fantastic. I don t post a lot of Google reviews but this is a real gem. They have fried eggplant you can get IN your falafel. The lentil soup was incredible. My family had the lamb two ways and have been taking about going back since. Will definitely become part of our habitual places!!! It was our first time visiting and Noor helped us order great staff great food, it was amazing!

This place is a hidden gem! Dont let the strip mall location take anything away. Food is exceptionally good and very fresh. Noor at the front counter greeted me very nicely and provided really good service. Its a small place but very nicely done, very clean so ambience is good as well. I got the mixed shawerma meal which was a huge helping (equal to 2 lunches). They are opening a new location on Yonge street and I cant wait to visit. Highly recommended!
The renovated place looks absolutely amazing. I had the Chicken shawarma sandwich and the lamb and beef tandoor wrap. The meat was very tender and juicy and the proportion of Meat and veggies was perfect. It is a handful and stomach filling with the complimentary lentil soup.
We had heard about this place and wanted to try it out. We went there yesterday and the place looked very nice and clean and the staff were very pleasant and generous. We told them it was our first time and the lady offered us complimentary lentil soup and tea and bread to go with our order. My friend ordered the shawarma sandwich and I got the mixed plate. I ordered a couple of falafels on the side. $4.99 for 6 or .085 cents each. Everything tasted really good, one feedback I would suggest is the falafel size could be a bit bigger. However the meal portion was pretty fair and very tasty. The price was reasonable as well and very compatible to other similar food portions. We really enjoyed it. My friends will be visiting soon and we will go back. Thank you

This place is spotless! It feels so clean, and that translates into good, fresh tasting food. The tandoor bread is absolutely perfect. Ive heard their Samon bread is good too, so I will try that next time. Highly recommend.

I bought a Lamb & Beef Tandoori wrap, but there were no pickles in it. With every single bite, meat juices leaked from the sandwich.
I ordered the lamb shawarma from Alforat, and it was very disappointing. The meat had almost no flavor and barely any seasoning. To make things worse, it was dripping with water, which made the entire dish soggy and unpleasant to eat. It definitely lacked the rich taste you d expect from shawarma. I don t recommend it at all.
My friends and I didn t like the food at all. The wraps were too soggy and they were not easy to eat!!! There were not any pickles and Tahini sauce in our food while the menu says they should be! The tastes Of the beef and lamb wrap were not good and We didn t like them but Felafel Sampson wrap was good. I don t recommend this restaurant
