Authentic Japanese restaurant for all you can eat or alacart sushi dishes. My friends and I devoured everything we ordered. Service is fast and efficient. Staff are friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Restaurant is bright, clean, and well laid out. I will be back to try more on the menu.
My two friends and I went here for dinner, we got seated right next to the toilet and it smelt horrible. We asked to move and then they proceeded to give the table away to 2 new people who walked in 10 minutes after we asked. We ordered our food and I got my appetizer which was sticky rice in a lotus leaf and that’s where the real horror begins. The rice was FROZEN in the middle, once I told them this, they simply re-heated it and gave it back to me. 30 minutes later, our food was still not there, (the people who came in way after us had now gotten their food). We asked about how much longer it was going to take and the server came back to tell us she never even placed our order. We decided to leave and we never got our food. For context, I was STILL charged for my stale and cold sticky rice after all of that. Horrible. I do not recommend this place to anyone, the family sitting near us was also having problems where they gave them their food an hour after they ordered and they gave them the complete wrong items.
The food was really good! Everything was fresh and tasted great! Service was a bit slow, we had to wait a while for anyone to come to our table and we were the only ones there. Lunch specials are very well priced.
We went for the all you can eat and it didn’t disappoint! Loved how thick the salmon sashimi cuts were. We ordered so much food and ate it all! We had some orders that didn’t arrive but it was all good, as we became full anyway. Will definitely be back here.
I always come here when I'm visiting family in Toronto (I don't live in Toronto). The staff is friendly and service is prompt. I come here for lunch and you can do all you can eat, order a la carte or do the lunch special, which is soup, salad and three rolls for $17.00 I usually have the vegetable spring rolls, gyozas, green dragon roll and broccoli tempura roll. Ingredients are always fresh and presentation is nicely done too. All you can eat for lunch is $27.00 a person Friday, Saturday, Sunday and holidays. Other days of the week it is $25.00.
Great place to go with friends for sushi. Good price for all you can eat. The rock shrimp is very good. Sashimi is very good as well. Everything was great. Service was fast and efficient.
This is one of my favorite places for Sushi. Being a vegetarian, the options in sushi are usually limited but here those are plenty. But that is not why it makes it my favorite. The taste is amazing. Every dish has nice flavor and taste. Sweet Potato Tempura Maki is the best. The crunch of tempura and sweetness of sweet potato makes it other worldly experience. Have tried Tofu teriyaki bento box(it's comes with miso soup, grilled tofu, salad and rice) Another favorite of mine is veg tom yum soup. It is yummy 😊 They have all you can eat buffet and ala carte options and place is mostly occupied. Do check out if you are in Avenue Road neighborhood or I would say find a reason to be here. You would not be disappointed.
We came here on a busy Saturday night but managed to get seated right away. They offer both All-you-can-eat and A la carte options. We tried a variety of their sushi and dim sum dishes and they were pretty good. The serivce was quick and efficient, they seem to move like a well oiled ship! The only issue is no one came to ask us how our food was or if we wanted more food or refills on our drinks. We were actually so hungry, I forgot to take pics of the food! Doh!
Best all you can eat sushi in the city
All you can eat concept was nice, food was delicious.
We had an all you can eat lunch. The prices are very reasonable and the food was yummy. The service was good.
Easily one of the best AYCE in the city
Wilson best server ask for him
Very nice sushi place, Wilson was a dear !!!
Wilson is such a munchkin he helped our with every need
Affordable and amazing quality, Wilson was a very cute server
Excellent food and efficient, friendly staff with an great attention to detail!
We eat here all the time. The food is good, quality is good. People are lovely
Great all you can eat sushi spot with very fresh fish, the tuna nigiri and the butter fish are my favourites. Staff is extremely friendly as well and the all you can eat menu has something for everybody!
Tonight I chose to spend my family dinner at Sakura and man we re we unimpressed.to start we waited 30 minutes for the first item to arrive and the item was salad, some items took over an hour to arrive.the service was terrible with workers forgetting our order.after an hour of waiting for my sashimi the white tuna was watery and tasted freezer burnt.I would not recommend eating here
Went out for what we hoped would be a relaxing dinner to celebrate the end of the school year. From the start we were disappointed. Horrible service, rude staff with staff at times slamming food onto the table Food was adequate but far from good. Tuna sashimi tasted frozen and wet. Pad Thai was overly sweet. Repetitive requests for ice cream were met with sneers. They brought the bill before we finished eating ..Definitely won t come here again.this deserves a zero star review!
Very bad experience. The short guy at the front desk was unfriendly. I felt like my friends and I were not respected.
We went just for dim sum (and general tso chicken) and it was delish! Prices were reasonable, service was great and the all you can eat looked yummy too. Would def go again!
Great food, great service and the server was so sweet to these two young teens who came in alone tonight, a table down from us. Parent approved!
This is our go-to for local sushi. Always appreciate the fast and efficient service. Quality of the food decent.
Great sushi!
It s okay for local. Service slow. Food okay. There s better and there s worse. People nice. Parking: No parking
Food is not bad. Service needs some improvement. And the place needs some renovation.
Went with my daughter. We ordered a la carte: miso soup, edamame, 3 kinds of sushi, beer and white wine. Everything was good and not expensive. Service was fast and amicable. I have a mild gluten intolerance so I wished they had gluten free soy sauce (brought my own) and mark the dishes with their respective allergens. Would definitely go back.
Thier food is really good I have to be honest BUT, service is soooooo bad, we went for all you can eat in 1 hour we only got two items of what we ordered, I hope they really do something about it, this was our second time there, and thinking not going there just because of poor service.
Worst AYCE Sushi ever tried in GTA, food quality and taste is bad, some of the sashimi is not fresh.
Service was very slow and sushi didn t taste fresh
Food is great but pricey compared with other places with better maintenance Looks out-of-date and stretchy.
This place is great. Fast, friendly, kind, clean, and great value. I wish they had a nice outdoor covered patio. I would love this place to continue succeeding as a business on Avenue Rd.
My son and I ordered the all you can eat for $27 per person . We had leftovers. I asked if we can take it home and the waitress said- No, you can t, then someone else can eat it. We don t allow that . That policy does not make sense and as a result, I will not return to the restaurant. There are many other suishi restaurants on Avenue Road. Parking: No issues with the parking. it is the all you can eat issue as I stated above.
One of my favorite sushi places on Avenue. My daughter loves the all you can eat special.
Weve been eating here weekly for 7 years. We used to go for AYCE but now we just order take out. Its great sushi for both the price and quality. There are other pricier and fancier sushi place in this area but I dont think they compare!
ordered the California roll, the simplest sushi roll to make, cost of ingredients 50 cents, because they dont put on the most expensive ingredient FISH EGGS, i wont go back, Ill drive to Sushi on bloor instead 8km away.
The food here is extremely mediocre, which would be fine if their all you can eat was not $45. Service is not worth the money either. An overall sub par experience.
Fish not fresh do not recommended this sushi place.
The place looks really nice and staff are very amicable, however the food is average. The portions are huge. The rolls are massive which would normally would be great but is filled to the brim with cucumber and rice where as the meat is small in comparison. The sashimi is also huge.... one normal slice is two combined. Would have been nice to know the portion size before doing ayce overall a good experience but needs more work
I was very surprised by the quality of all you can eat here, very thick pieces of sashimi (sad for the limited part, but it is worth it!), Lots of fish on the sushi, unlimited tea.... Definitely coming back with friends.
The service attitude of this restaurant is very good. The salmon sashimi is full of the unique fragrance of salmon. The boss said that the fish is freshly arrived every day and has been specially processed. The food here is very delicious. I always recommend it every time. Give me a sense of novelty.
Far from being a fancy place, this restaurant serves amazing food with an honest price.
We were purchasing from here a few times a month to support local as we live close by but we recently placed an order that was so terrible we threw out more than half the food. The Gyoza are frozen bought from the store, the fried rice and chicken must have been made hours prior to us eating it. Wont be ordering from here again.
The Sushi never fails and they even offer a huge bonus (dim-sum).
The food was good. The service was kind. We are coming back.
A North Toronto treasure. Hard to find as diverse a menu and delicious delivery of food at an all you can eat place! Their dim sum is delicious, only thing better is the sushi! Sashimi is so fresh and their rolls are always delicious. Very well priced.
Used to be a decent and acceptable place to eat we went often. Tried it last Saturday. Service was courteous but very slow and food was not great quality considering the price hike to 32.50 per person. Bones in the sashimi and everything else was just so so at best to not very good for some items. We were told spider roll sold out. Not a great impression sadly.
Sushi is pretty good but Sakura Garden consistently underestimates the time our take out order will be ready and they often make mistakes with the order. For example, tonight they said our order would be ready in 30 minutes but when we arrived at the designated time we still had to wait another 25 minutes until it was actually ready, so pretty much double the time they said, and even then they hadn t included an appetizer that we d ordered and paid for, so we had to go back for it. This has happened on multiple occasions. When I complained about the delay, they said the manager wasn t there but would call me. He didn t. They don t seem to have any respect for their customers so it looks like it s time for us to find a new place for sushi.
2019: Best sushi!! Update 2022: I m sad to write this but unfortunately the quality has gone downhill tremendously. We ve still been trying to be a loyal customer even after we moved away. But, the time has come to accept the quality and service is just not the same. Sushi - taste and size are good - 4/5. Quality is 3/5 as the rice breaks easily when picked up, and sometimes the filling isn t packed in properly so it ll fall out. They have stopped putting wasabi and ginger with the order. (Or it s just been missed a bunch on our order, I don t know) Sashimi - 1/5 really gross. I m sorry. I ve tried to get over this but they cut their sashimi way too thick. We re literally eating a whole fish with every piece. And sometimes you can taste that it was pre-frozen as it is very wet and water oozes out. We have asked on numerous occasions to slice the sashimi thin, and this last (and final) time, it s bigger than it s ever was. Non-sushi - 4/5 the dim sum and other items are probably more of their specialty these days. But I find I m too grossed out by the sushi experience that I can t fully enjoy the hot stuff. Service - over the pandemic, we loved that they delivered without having to go through an app. But they kept putting the warm stuff with the sushi, so we would always get warm sushi. We would put in the fridge, sometimes in the snow to chill it. We asked every time politely to separate, and they never did. Even when we would pick up, to try and mitigate the situation, the hot food was packed in a separate bag (yay), but sitting on top of the sushi (boo). Sakura, we ve been a loyal customer since 2016 and always considered our favourite. But I m sorry to say that is officially no longer the case. We love sushi but are tired of the disappointment. We may try you again in a year or so. Hopefully you use this time to change some things and become back to the great restaurant you were before.
Great food. We love coming here and also order home!
Rudest server ever throw the order on the table and go , cut me off while i was exlaining to him what i need, was giving me and friend attitude during the whole time being here while having all you can eat orders, have to wait between order at lest 10 minutes till the next ones, having around 7 plates for 3 and took us more than 2 hours in total with 80 % waiting for the orders to be ready, though the food was fresh and tasty, customer service needed to be adjusted then the store would be ok
Decent value for bento box, teriyaki chicken was barely grilled though. Seemed as though it was baked or steamed then grilled very lightly on a flat top. Maki was pretty good
Amazing food, fantastic service, cozy atmosphere. Our favourite place to go for sushi :D
Some longer waiting time then normal for the food but overall it was an enjoyable experience eating in with my family.
Overall, it was a most disappointing experience. The business has an inviting atmosphere, but once there, the fish does not appear fresh, and the sunomono salad that I ate, I would have to classify as weird. Again, the fish neither looked nor tasted fresh. I have eaten at many sushi restaurants, and this one made me somewhat concerned that I might be sick the next day. With so many good sushi restaurants around, I certainly would not recommend this one.
Excellent food, fast delivery, thank you~
Wonderful :)
Really good food. Loved the noodles.
Toronto is outside the delivery range. Good job.
High quality fish especially salmon for the price point, and generously large rolls
Over priced, bland, tiny portions. Great if youre on a diet and enjoy overspending!
Great food, good service, highly recommend
Nice
Great sushi, great portion, great price! Highly recommend
The staff at this restaurant are amazingly understanding! I mistakenly placed an online order with this restaurant, thinking it was a place in my local area only to find out there were over 2 hours away. I contacted them to cancel my order (which had already been processed) and explained the situation. They responded very quickly and refunded my credit card promptly. If I am ever in the area, I will DEFINITELY be visiting this place!
I have been ordering from this place at least once or twice a week for years. The food is great but over the past few months they have messed up our order more and more frequently. Ill get home and they will have put the wrong stuff in, even though theyve charged us for what we actually ordered, or sometimes they leave things out all together. Sadly we wont be going back, its too frustrating. If they could just get the orders right, it would still be our favorite local sushi place. Its a shame
Food always amazing never disappoints.
mediocre sushi / asian fusion restaurant. The mango salad roll is supposed to taste different, but the wrapping is too chewy that you lose track of the taste of mango. Overall, its not so cheap because its all you can eat, and they try to do too many things which inevitably leads to a mediocre taste. As an asian, I regret to say this restaurant just meets the basic standard for a sushi restaurant.
Fantastic food
Love this place!
Went for lunch with my father. The service was sooooo slow we couldnt finish our meal before we had to leave, even after explaining our situation. Like 1 1/2 hours isnt enough?
Rather eat McDonalds across the street
$30 dinner worth it. Good selection of sushi, dumplings. Would definitely go back..
Friendly staff, delicious food, amazing AYCE menus
Fresh, succulent and flavourful sushi. Sakura Gardens is one of my favorites for a good selection of vegetarian choices. During the pandemic I have been doing pick up and meeting my kids and grandkids in a park so that we can be socially distant.
Love this restaurant! I have been going to Sakura Garden for years and usually get the sushi which is always excellent. Last night I went for the Teriyaki Chicken and it did not disappoint. Perfectly cooked chicken and the sauce was so yummy. My only wish was more zucchini and fewer onions but thats my just my own preference. I highly recommend them.
Management is very dishonest. I ordered for pick up and when I got to the store the bill was higher than their published pricing in the web-site. They said that they would update the pricing, but I explained that charging more wasn t fair or in line with retail practices, in which businesses always honor the pricing of their products on the shelves, web-site or promotional materials. They said if I wasn t happy I didn t have to take the order (I was already in their store). I said that was the last time I would buy from them. On a separate note, food is just okay; it is not what it used to be. They don t have a clue of what customer service is and being honest at front. Avoid this place. There are many other better sushi nearby.
The service was terrible. My friend found a hair in her food and wasnt upset but wanted a new plate. The waitress was so rude it was disgusting. Never going again.
The food here is very good and the portions are large. The staff is friendly and courteous and do their best. A nice decor and very bright and welcoming. The prices are most reasonable. ando
Amazing all you can eat for a very cheap price!
The food quality and portions were decent. I enjoyed their tempuras in particular, but overall enjoyed everything I ordered. I will definitely visit again to try other foods as well. I wish they didn t limit the amount of sushi or sashimi we can order at a time tho.
Good quality sushi for a reasonable price. The service could improve significantly. They usually give you things you didnt order.
Amazing lunch special deals and tasty AYCE. Good variety of rolls.
Excellent food and price. Will come again for sure.
Yum
Not that fancy but cozy sushi restaurant :)
Great neighbourhood restaurant.
Great food
It pains me to leave this review cause the food is amazing, however, everyone must know - THE OWNER POCKETS HIS EMPLOYEES TIPS - disgusting!!!!!
Good Sushi restaurant
Great value...nice fresh fish and wonderful attentive service. Will definitely be back!
Great AYCE
very good price for all you can eat and very good sushi 5/5
Good service, servers were super sweet and cute. Loved chatting with em. I think I may have just ordered the wrong thing but I wasnt super keen on my Szechuan Sauteed Veggie dish. It was a little bit *too* spicy but I was definitely warned, it also wasnt really filling either unfortunately. Vegan options are available which is good. My boyfriend got the Tofu Bento and he enjoyed that so no complaints :)
Horrible service. No fortune cookies. Will not be returning!
Just went to Sakura Garden to celebrate Mothers Day with my family. We had a lovely waitress, whos name I didnt catch. She spoke very good English and was very attentive (shoulder length hair). Our service was fast, the food was very tasty, and its good value. I highly recommend Sukura and will definitely be back. Thank you.
In addition to pretty good sushi on their all you can eat menu, you can also get dim sum, grilled dishes, and even excellent fries and general tao chicken.
Yummy food in the service is usually very good
Best Sushi in town. I have ordered from Sakura Garden over 100 times (once a week for more then 2 years). The food tastes amazing. The price is great. They are quick to deliver. I want sushi just writing this review!!! You wont be disappointed.
The personal was horrible
Sushi was excellent. Probably the freshest and thickest slabs I ve had. I m really impressed, and so glad to have found the place.
Watch the prices when odering online. Everytime I ordered, oops there was at least one item that has since gone up higher than the website. The girl on the phone is extremely rude, belligerent and altogether does not care
Best all you can eat in the city. Great menu and even some lleaeenr surprises. Love they do dim Sum in addition to sushi and sashimi.
Food was disgusting stay away from this place
Best Sushi
Good service, good, food, good atmosphere.
Great local asian food place.very pleasant .Efficient and friendly staff.Excellent food.Middle class atmosphere.
A lot of great sushi, some solid cooked dishes, but theyve definitely cheaped out on the beef short ribs. I dont know what it was but I could instantly tell by the smell that these were rancid, either past due or an awful quality cut, my friends ate them anyways and were all stuck taking shifts in the bathroom that night. Id been here twice before and they were not like this, a real shame to see.
It was good all you can eat sushi. There was a choice to order off the menu as well. Food was fresh and tasty. I would go there again.
Good price
The food - General Tao chicken and a pad thai - was just okay, and it took a very long time to arrive. Not inclined to return.
Love the lunch specials and all u can eat.
Had to wait ten mins for a table and it wasn t that busy. The server could not understand a word of English. She seemed very confused why we were even there to begin with. I felt so bad asking for things because it seemed like she was doing me a favour. Had to ask for same thing three times. Fish was okay, not very good quality but I guess that s pretty normal for ayce.
Went in for lunch, was not busy at all but was moved because someone had reserved the table that they put us at. Other than that the food was good for all you can eat, and service was fairly quick and reliable.
My family loves going there and ordering in and we found that their service is usually fast and easy unless busy because it is very small. Amazing food there would come back many times
This used to be my favorite place. But the owner and one of their crew ( the short old woman) are very rude.
We usually come here for lunch and its always a great experience for us. Tasty food, lots of options and great quality for the price. Service depends on how crowded the place is but is normally decent. The place was small but it was well used so it can accomodate a good number of people. Place and menu are good for both adults and kids.
Extremely well priced, tasty and clean
The food was decent but there are better places in the city that come at the same price. The service was very poor. The waiter gave us a table next to the door while there were many other tables available. They gave us trouble about pricing and the price didn t seem right. We ordered from the all you can eat menu and some orders didn t come completely.
I didnt want to give 1 star since one of the waiters was actually attentive and prompt but the food is old and tastes horrible plus an argumentative attitude by who Im guessing is the owner or manager. The cooked food was all inedible. I sent back the well done steak teriyaki which was supposed to be rare. It tasted like it was overcooked to purposely hide that its expired. The stir fried udon was a wet mess. The chicken skewers was rubbery like it was microwaved. Disregarding the food, the service was bad. I was told that there is a limit if 3 pcs of sashimi per seating/visit. On the order sheet it said 3 pcs per order. I provided feedback that the wording should be changed to avoid misunderstanding. I got an eye roll. Then when I asked to take home the left over udon I was told it was $3 extra. That would normally be understandable but I had to take it home to recook it since it was so bad. I asked the restaurant, would you rather throw it out and waste food or I recook it. They chose to throw it out. The only thing half decent here are the maki rolls. The seaweed is wet and chewy but at least its not disproportionately filled with rice like other ayce places.
Amazing food and service. Best Sushi. Will definitely come back for all you can eat.
its our go to sushi/sashimi fix. If you are looking for simple food and not the extravagant all you can eat restaurant, this place will give you the fix... They have a mix menu where you can enjoy the food, their place is a bit small not like some of the AYCE. Unfortunately I think they need to add some more staff since during busy times they only have 2/3 staff getting orders/delivering orders... sometimes wait times are delayed or sometimes forget that you have ordered already... Food: Ok Customer Service: ok Price: ok Location: good Cleanliness: Ok but can do more improvement
I dont know how to say the fake Japanese food. I love sushi so much but this place is the worst one I have ever tried. They want to mix Chinese and Japanese food together but.... Nothing to say. Stupid.
Used to be regular here, good to acceptable quality food, fair menu and choices for lunch and dinner, however on my last return yesterday, this short waitress was extremely rude, ordering to push the plates for her to grab and throwing 2nd paper at us to order for more things..by the way not even a piece was wasted or left to trigger this rude behaviour. And I finally confronted her and asked for another less rude waiter. Didn t even order more. Paid the bill with tip and left. It doesn t cost a penny to be nice never again!
Been going there since they opened years ago and its pretty awesome food. Servers are friendly as well. Decent prices.
Fresh, quick & great value!
This used to be our main, go to place Sushi place since their original opening many years ago. They had amazing quality, reasonable prices and a good choices. However, this really changed about 2 years ago. I have no idea why and what changed; however, the quality is now fair at best. Weve had some good quality pieces; however, most are okay and not great. The prices increased by about 20% so it got pricier too. The service also got slower and less friendly - to the point where we were spending more than twice as long. This used to be a great experience - I have to admit that I havent been back in quite a while (at least a year) - though with the last few experiences I never will again.
If you are a salmon lover this is definitely your place to go. Had the Salmon lover combo here and it was amazing! Very fresh and good quantity, bit more for dinner but I had them all anyway haha...Service is good, owner and staff are very friendly!
Some of the best sashimi, sushi, and Maki Ive ever had. Loved the peanut sauce rock shrimp. Service is a bit slow but if you have the time, its worth it.
The best around this area.
Mmmm
Bad service but great prices and always really good food
Good quality. Lots of food.
This was a very enjoyable experience. They were able to make many accommodations for my party. Very good!!
Great sushi, only complaint is their salmon skin isnt cooked, its just raw skin in a roll!
the best sweet and sour chicken ever
I would give lower review if I could. Owner of this place is the rudest owner Ive ever dealt with. I arrived there at 6 pm and paid for all you can eat menu. Orders were coming so slow every 30 min or longer. after 2 hours of wait and having only soup and few appetizers I needed to leave as I was already running late for my meeting. Not only that I didnt get my food and wasted 2.5 hours but owner charged full price for all you can eat menu. It was not only my table but others customers were having same issues and he was arguing with all of us asking to pay full price even some of didnt even get any food served. Not even offering a discount. Orders ordered for pick up were going out smoothly as they paid set price and we were not priority. Never going back there again.
Great sushi, great prices.
I came for a weekday lunch. It was half full. Service was polite and quick. The spicy tuna maki was excellent.
Large portions for good prices.
Edit: Went today (Saturday 6pm) with 2 other adults and 4 veeerrryyyy rowdy children for AYCE dinner and the service was quite good. Our reservation time was respected & the food came out steady. I am glad that we chose here because everyone left full and happy. The servers were very polite and patient considering our children were bad, bad, bad, and very bad. My family and I go here every now and then. The food is pretty consistent and I like the location. The AYCE menu has a lot of popular options compared to other places. The staff are actually quite nice and I like that this is a smaller restaurant.
Best Rock Shrimp Ever
