Horror, there is no service. I sat for 30 minutes waiting for my order. Its a disgusting place. I do not recommend visiting

Cozy place with a great staff. The maki, sushi, and sashimi taste great. They came in with great portions with miso soup and salad.

An absolutely delightful spot! Good prices without gorging oneself, great staff, and even got some matcha ice cream on the house! Parking: Parking is tight! Be prepared to reverse into a spot.

What an amazing place! From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by the friendly staff, and the cozy, beautifully designed atmosphere immediately made us feel at home. We loved the convenience of ordering through iPads, where you can also request additional items like water, ginger, wasabi, or napkins. The food was fantastic! Although it would have been nice if all of our sushi arrived at the same time, and we had known there was tempura in the spicy salmon sushi, everything was still delicious. As a bonus, they even offered complimentary vanilla ice cream. Highly recommend this spot! We ll definitely be back likely becoming regulars!

Momo was my server. She was very kind and fast respond. Food was ok, just average. Giving 5 stars becasue of server. Maybe i will come back.

Ordered uber eats as I enjoyed a meal previously at the restaurant. Delivery was not quite worth the price ($65) as the quality and amount of food wasnt great. Would recommend visiting the restaurant rather than ordering delivery or take-out.

Second time in a row I got stomach upset after eating at this restaurant. The quality has gone down tremendously, I am guessing new owner. I will not be returning. It used to be one of my favorite spots, sadly its worse than mediocre.

A really cute spot nearby Yorkdale mall for affordable & yummy Japanese eats! Seating was cozy and there were high dividers for more intimate booths; and you use a tablet to put in your order - the menu is quite extensive. Everything tasted good! The spicy sushi rolls had a good kick, takoyaki was flavourful, miso was quite good, and the shrimp-veggie tempura was also super good (not salty at all!). Green tea was also great with a roasted flavor (not a generic green tea). Staff was very friendly. I would definitely return when I find myself in the area again.

Generally great fresh tasting sushi/fish. I would skip the tuna but the butterfish, and salmon were delicious. Service was a bit iffy in filling our water timely but they gave us complimentary miso soup, edamame and green tea icecream for dessert! The soft shell crab is delicious but their special Maki rolls are the star here.

Seems to be an authentic Japanese restaurant, with great tasting sushi. Portion sizes are average, and prices are on the higher side compared to other sushi restaurants. You likely wont be full from just eating 1 combo. This plaza does not have sufficient parking. One of the restaurant chefs double-parked his Mercedes in the aisle preventing people from leaving and parking. I will not return to this location due to difficulty parking.

The HIDDEN GEM!! Why didn t I know this place earlier when it is too close to my house. The sushi tastes great, fresh and well plated. They also put a tablet on every table so that you can easily order. The server and the chef were so nice and friendly. This is the best a la carte sushi I ve come.

Nice cozy sushi place in my neighbourhood, I didn t get a chance to visit before, I was really satisfied about the quality of the sushi and sashimi compared to most of the fancy places around. They great you with miso soup and snacks which is so sweet, I hope they can keep providing this service quality.

So loving it. I recommend this to those who wants to eat authentic Japanese food.

My res was 11:30 and they literally put key in door to let us in just after 11:30 and had to wait for them to setup. Waitress was awful so lightly spoken and not good English. Couldnt get a green tea from her so eventually got up and the sushi chef got me a tea. Getting a refill was as hard. You have to order yourself on the iPad and it wasnt working. Food was a solid 3. I had tempura crab, 2 rolls, and sweet shrimp sashimi. Ambiance leaves a lot to be desired.

Its perfectly fine, exactly average neighborhood sushi place. Its never going to win an award, but Id be happy with takeout from here once a month.

The food is good, i liked all that we ordered except for the beef udon coz the meat is a bit overcooked, but the soup is delicious. The salmon pizza is interesting, crusty base loaded with salmon and flavors.

We come here from Yonge and Sheppard where there are many sushi places but this one is the best that weve had! We have now come many times and every time everything is fantastic! We are always greeted so warmly, like the dearest guests. Food is so delicious, very fresh, amazing flavors, such a rich menu, and the service is impeccable, so sweet and warm. The server Kana is AMAZING she is so sweet and attentive! We always are well taken care of when we come here. You can order some classics and theyre so delicious youll be fully satisfied, or you can have a feast, their menu is very diverse. Amazing all five stars well deserved

It was a really nice place with a very warm and comfortable atmosphere. You can tell that the food has a good amount of detail put into it like just like how it was meant to be made in Japan. The rolls are extremely filling and quite a good bang for its buck! In fact, two orders of the special and/or dragon rolls should be more than enough to fill an average persons stomach. My friend ordered their Bento box and man, do not underestimate its size lol. That alone can fill you up if you have a mild appetite! Every was freshly made, just like how it should be!! For AMEX users, just know that although it shows on the map that you can use AMEX here, you in fact cannot. My card was denied unfortunately but thats less to do with the restaurant and more to do with the AMEX map.

The sushi was either too dry or the sauce was too overpowering in comparison to the seasoning of the other ingredients. Other than that, the restaurant provides a fantastic ambiance for dining in.

It s one of the better restaurants in the area. It s very clean, and the food is pretty good.

We sat down pretty much right away and they gave us a menu, took them about 15min to come back and take our order, then once we placed our order we waited about 40min for our food. We could see that some of our sushi was sitting on the counter waiting and no one was grabbing it. We finally decided to say something, and they brought it right away. I think they were focusing on pick ups too much. I think they should prioritize the people sitting down to eat before the take out options. Other than the long wait for our food & having to ask for it. The food was delicious, everything tasted great and was made well. They need to get a bigger space to accommodate more people to sit in, wouldnt that be amazing!

A very pleasant place because of the atmosphere it has, accompanied by good background music. There are many options for sushi, fried foods, bentos and more, of all flavors and options. The food is delicious and they offer several sauces to accompany it. Very fresh and crispy. Ideal to go with family or alone. Very clean and good service. I will definitely return.

Excellent place for take out. 5 star food without the 5 star price. Best Maki rolls in Toronto. Shoko was a wonderful waitress, kind and helpful. Clean place, friendly and helpful staff, fast service. Ive been coming here for years and have never been disappointed.

Truly the worst, most overpriced sushi Ive ever eaten in my 34 years in Toronto. The fish was not fresh. The rice tasted like it had been sitting out for days. Most of the sushi roll was just vegetable, and not fish. I usually never complain. But this time I felt the need to. I called the owner to request a store credit (not a refund). He told me the best he could do was 10% off my next order. The owner has my number. If he wants, he can reach out to me to make things right. Not that Id want to even eat his sushi in the first place.

Very tight, uncomfortable space

Sushi is quite good and they don t put too much rice in their rolls which is great. A bit pricier than other such places but at least the sushi is very good.

I love this place. The price is reasonable, the food is always delicious and the customer service is great. They are always polite and nice even though sometimes I called on the phone and the staffs help me figure out what I want. Today Shoko served me and she was very friendly. Orders here so many times and will come back and suggest my friends.

Authentic Japanese food and excellent service! The young Japanese waitress served us quick and with total care for our experience. We were even given free miso soup!

The food was good but, price wasn t fair. When we ordered scallops, they were so small. On the menu it looked big and they were small. It s not worth the price to pay 10$ for small scallops. The octopus balls sorry wasn t actually octopus. Mostly only dough almost no octopus at all. Sushi a is way better at promenade than here. Takoyaki and scallops weren t worth to pay for. The rolls were good though and the waiter didn t seem to know English so well. I hope one day we will come back 1 day but most likely not because we live far Richmond hill.

Very nice presentation. Picking up the order took a bit longer than planned but not too bad. Sushi rolls are thicker than usual and dont close well so it may be messy for kids but very tasty and fresh. Also they added some seasoning and dressing on top which not everyone liked. Overall pretty good and great looking.

Food is great here! You can always tell by the quality of the miso soup, and its rich and flavourful. Sushi was delicious, not fishy at all and goes down great! The tempura was battered nicely and was very crispy. Overall, top restaurant and Ill be back!

This is one of the better hidden gems for sushi in the GTA pricing is fair, food is above average and the service is friendly. Not a ton of seating, but its cozt and comfortable. Ive tried many of the items on the menu, and have not been dissapoited at all. Ill be back here, again and again and again. Great spot, keep up the great service and work! Yummmy!!

The owner and servers are so sweet and helpful. Best service and the spicy dynamite roll was so yummy. The restaurant is super cute and intimate. Perfect for a date night! This is my second time eating here and I will definitely be coming back!!

I came here yesterday for lunch with my boyfriend who had said very nice things about this place and I had to try it myself. The location was hard to spot when driving and parking is difficult to get near the storefront but it is worth looking for--this place is a hidden gem. We took our time deciding and the staff were very polite and helpful. We ordered the steamed veggie dumplings, spicy dynamite roll, and tofu teriyaki. My partners food came with salad and miso soup, as per what it said on the menu. They were so nice, they gave me a miso soup too while I waited for my food <3 Presentation was beautiful and the food was delicious. The quality is really amazing, I liked the rice-to-filling ratio on the roll that I had, I dont like places that use too much overboiled rice on their rolls. This place does it right. Will definitely be back :)

Surprisingly this place is alright. The restaurant is a bit small and could use some help with the interior, but it s very lowkey I would say. I didn t do all you can eat as I was just there for a quick lunch, but otherwise everything was tasting good and the staff was really kind! For the food, the rice seemed a bit dry and also I wish there was a tad but more rice on the rolls because it seemed like the grains were separated and hanging on for dear life. The amount of rice for the nigiri was PERFECT. Sushi restaurants usually put disgusting amounts on there and all you can taste is rice, so I really appreciated it. All in all, presentation was amazing and food was great!

The Fifth Taste is a reasonably priced sushi restaurant that sells delicious food. It s easily amongst the top sushi places I ve eaten at, and I ve been fortunate to have sushi in different parts of North America, Maui, and Paris. They are also great at providing a welcoming dine-in experience, with very efficient take-out, too.

Really nice staff, food is high quality. You get what you pay for. It is a bit pricy, but I know it is always fresh and the portions are huge! Takeout is prompt and the place is always spotless. A true hidden gem!

Im hesitant to share my review as this place is my close friends/family and Is absolute favourite hidden gem. This is the only sushi place I order from. Ive tried many sushi places in the GTA, and this is the one I continuously go back to. Phenomenal service and excellent quality - even for takeout! As someone who has sushi at least once a week, I can happily say I choose this place every time.

The best sushi I ve had in Toronto. Without a doubt. This restaurant is small and well spaced. The food is fresh and carefully prepared. Can t wait to go back.

If your looking for some of the best quality sushi for very reasonable prices, look no further. The 5th taste is probably the best value for sushi in the city. Ask for Butterfish (white tuna) sashimi you will not be disappointed. This is one of those places I skip on all the fried stuff or side dishes and just go straight for the real sushi, sashimi and rolls. Thank you, 5th Taste

I have only ordered delivery and their food is great. Very fresh and well presented. I always order the uni and they always have it in stock and tastes quite high quality as well - no excessive fishy taste. Their pricing is decent as well. The only thing I wish is that they use more sustainable packaging as everything is still plastic. Otherwise, I highly recommend trying this place for fresh and delicious suhi.

Came here on my Birthday cuz the high rating on google map but I was disappointed. I have no Ideas how the can get such a high start. While the sushi rice is too dry and fish is not really fresh and also more pricey compared to other sushi restaurants. Not recommended.

The portions are big for two people. It depends on your appetite. We enjoyed the Spicy salmon pizza with Thin crust + lots of toppings and salmon sashimi.

Nice small place. Servers were very friendly. Had dynamite roll, calamari, salmon sashimi, and spicy salmon pizza. Everything was fresh, portions were good. Salmon pizza was really good. The fried rice base wasnt too thick and it was piled with toppings.

Delicious spicy salmon roll

This place has the best sushi and best food in the area. I ve tried many sushi restaurants in toronto and by far this one beats them all. The fish variety is great and the portions are excellent. We order from here at least once a week. The owners are very friendly and extremely helpful. If you re thinking of ordering from here I highly recommend doing so, you won t be disappointed!

Did takeout tonight for the first time. Was hopeful seeing all the positive reviews. Wasn t very impressed. Maki rolls weren t that great tasting and some did not taste very fresh. Will not be coming back.

Probably the best sushi in the area, especially the yam tempura/avocado roll, and the spicy tuna roll. Our infant daughter loved the yam from the inside of the roll as it was perfectly soft but not soggy. Our new go to, for sure.

Great quality sushi! Got takeout for a picnic with my wife and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Dragon Tuna roll and Avocado & Yam maki were both amazing. Takeout was very well packaged and held up extremely well during a walk to our picnic site. Looking forward to eating here again.

Sashimi lovers. Look no further. Can maki be juicy ? Can sashimi burst with flavour? The answer is yes! When 5th taste says they have the absolute freshest ingredients, believe them. The quality here is top notch!

My daughter and I came here for dinner and it s by far the best sushi we ve ever had. The ingredients were fresh and service was excellent. The tempura vegetables and avocado salad were also delicious. I highly recommend!!!

An update here. This place used to be good. Two days ago the owner was eating with the staff and the smell of the food was disgusting. I held my breath and ordered take out just to find my food tasted as bad as the smell i experienced when i walked in.

Take-out experience was wonderful. Staff are kind and ensure I know that I will be taken care of despite their busy schedule. I was welcomed warmly when I walked in and making a phone order was very easy. Everything I ordered was delicious!!

Place is clean and tidy, a bit small but can fit about 10 groups there. Staff are attentive and friendly.... Price was reasonable, and sushi tasted amazing. Would visit again for sure... Highly recommended

Food was good. They have lunch specials that you have to ask for if you want to get the menu. Rolls in lunch specials are a bit smaller than regular ones but its much cheaper.

The first time we ordered delivery and items were missing we thought it might be a one off mistake. Just received our second attempt at home delivery and thoroughly disappointed. Two items were missing entirely, and the beef teriyaki was a joke- less than an ounce of dried out inedible beef shavings, for over $10!!! I have never left a bad review for a restaurant before, but this place is either deliberately ripping people off, or are beyond incompetent. Either way, we will never patronize them again.

- Chicken teriyaki maki was dry and carrots were cut too big. The maki fell apart when it is picked up - Shrimp tempura was smaller in comparison the other ones I had at other restaurants and felt it is overpriced - Salmon Trio (only the sashimi and nigiri is good, but the salmon maki tasted terrible in taste and texture) Very disappointing for my first visit/take-out at this place given its high ratings. Not the worst sushi but Id rather go to Kin or 168 Sushi. Its a 1.5 stars for me but theres not option for that.

Great service and atmosphere

Received some good news last night so decided to treat my partner and I to some sushi. Some family had suggested earlier to try out this place and Im glad I did! My partner is a cook and can be quite particular about the food he eats, but had nothing but great things to say about this place! The sushi was so fresh that we barely had to use any soysauce and wasabi! Id definitely recommend treating yourself to some 5th Taste sushi!

Ordered the 30 piece Umami Boat for takeout. It was a little pricy as the sashimi and sushi were small, but definitely worth it for the quality. The black dragon roll tasted great and the sushi and sashimi were very fresh. Definitely will revisit when I crave sushi.
