Fresh, delicious, generous portions, simply the best sushi!

Since being diagnosed with Celiac, it has been extremely difficult finding places that are understanding of cross contamination during preparation. Umami Sushi is phenomenal at accommodating and knowing exactly what ingredients to substitute out of any dish. When ordering online you can easily state if you have any allergies/dietary restrictions and feel at ease. My dietary restrictions were met on a level like no other. I couldn t have been any happier with the service, fresh products, and the accommodating atmosphere. Looking forward to ordering many more dishes off the menu!

My family and I had dinner there over the weekend and we all got food poisoning. We will never go back there again.

I ordered takeout a couple days ago and was sick the whole night after eating their food. I should have known because the food didnt taste fresh.

Seeing lots of reviews here that say the owner is rude and unprofessional. Can confirm and will be avoiding this place at all costs. This place would have better reviews if he has someone else speaking with guests.

For a $25 poke bowl it was the most mediocre one with little salmon, questionable pineapple and fridge cold rice. Also, we ordered work lunch. Nothing was marked and all the Maki and sushi were assembled in one party tray. We are close at work of course. But not that close . Overpriced and would not recommend

Not bad, but also not very good. Rolls were ok, but found a couple pieces of hair in them. Miso soup was very bland. The price is pretty good, but you sort of get what you pay for.

Very racist oner very rude I don t advise anyone to try this racist place I think they have issues with Arabic people or brown coloured people I will advise all my Arabic friends all my Uber friends all my skip and anyone I know to not deal with you

Awful experience here! Owner is impatient and an angry man. Sushi was tiny, spicy Mayo wasn t spicy Mayo, ginger was dry. Won t be coming here again. Learn some manners!

the food was good but the owner was terrible. mean, disrespectful, and had a terrible attitude. yelled at someone for asking a simple question and was rude the entire time. definitely not going there again.

Best kosher sushi in town!

Very disappointed with the quality of food. Old dried up pieces of fish, dried out rice, and unappetizing presentation. Pieces of bone in almost every slice of sashimi. I highly recommend that you go elsewhere for quality sushi for half the price. To the owner: if you see the heading of my review it states delivery . But you are correct, we never dined at your restaurant. There is no need to call you to start an argument. I see from your defensive reply that all other 1 star reviews mentioning your subpar customer service have been vindicated. Please work on your the quality of ingredients but most importantly, customer service. You may then see an improvement in your business.

My favourite place for kosher sushi. Wish they had a sit-down restaurant (for after Covid). Andrew is a great guy and they are honest and fair. Did an AMAZING job catering our bar mitzvah cocktail party with vegetarian sushi. Fresh and delicious.

One of the few Kosher sushi places in Toronto. Fish is fresh. Wide variety of special rolls - many of them are quite good and are made with interesting cominations. Service is prompt and advance orders are ready when promised. Would be nice if they offered brown rice as an alternative. The spicy salmon and spicy tuna are not that spicy. But overall - everyone that we have ordered with has enjoyed the food and thats whats important - even if its a bit pricey.

The worst sushi ever !! OMG the shrimp was dry the sashimi was smelling bad!! I ordered on the phone I came to pick up I wanted another 30 min... I wanted extra ginger both of them was dry like eating an apple... Never again

High quality sushi at very reasonable prices, the owner Andrew goes above and beyond to make sure his customers are satisfied. The Poke bowls are delicious and there is soup as well!

I ordered sushi here a few days ago. I was vomiting all night and had painful stomach cramps the next day. Be careful. Almost had to visit emergency dept at my local hospital. I was told this was a good place but now not going back.

Just ordered from UberEats as there was a deal of $5 if you order $20 or more. Im surprised to see some negative reviews because the sushi I received was delicious. I got the New Rainbow roll and spicy hamachi handroll; they did not skimp out on the fish, and plenty of flavour to boot. I find their specialty rolls innovative as they contain unique ingredients atypical to your average sushi restaurant. Excited to try again.

I think this is the best sushi in Toronto and the area. The atmosphere is friendly. The cooks are good, specialists in their field. I would like to say a huge thank you to all the employees of ^Umami Sushi^ for the wonderful work of all the staff.

Im not the type of guy to judge people off the cuff and without fair reason. But how is it reasonable that the man preparing my food neglected to wash his hands after taking a piss? I usually dont wash my hands in general. However, Im not the one responsible for handling sushi. Umami more like Umamno.

Sushi rice is incredibly sour, way too much vinegar! The sushi fish is cut so improperly too. The edges are jagged and some pieces are super thick. Wasabi is very uneven throughout the plate too.

I just ordered off SkipTheDishes and the food quality is decent. I enjoyed the sushi sandwiches and the make your own Poke bowl was nice except that there was so much sauce, I had to stop eating it. I asked for their spicy sauce and ended up with globs of mayo which is all I could taste. Threw it away which is unfortunate because even with free delivery the meal cost me $40. Poke Eats on Sheppard is cheaper and there is much more variety offered in the bowl. Okay food but probably wont order again .

Why do I like this place? 1. Its small, to the point, and makes delicious sushi. (by the way, Id love it if you add a nice Philadelphia roll, a kosher version of that is) 2. Amazing customer service. 3. Amazing owner - I met with the owner when I came in - amazing person, great service. Conclusion - if you want kosher sushi, look no further.

I order from this place regularly through UberEATS. The meals have always been super tasty and high quality and I especially enjoy that they offer brown rice at no additional cost. Shiitake and avocado maki is off the chain. Love this place even though I have never seen it.

just order from this restaurant from ubereats based on the really good reviews. however, I have to admit that it is the worst Ive ever had. even worse than the boxed sushi sold at our school(too much vinegar was added in the sushi rice and was not blended well, even the cucumber tasted awful too..) and their spicy salmon maki literally has that odour that burst in ur mouth like when you have to put up with a man who hasnt been taking a shower for a year in a sardine bus! yes...I cant possibly imagine how they could make sushi taste like this... Its just beyond horrible. I would never dine in or have take-out from this place ever again!!!

Love the sushi, especially the Udon Noodles with Salmon. Andrew is a pleasure to work with for catering orders as well.

The sushi is incredible, they have brown rice as an option, and they have grilled salmon as an option as well. Its very good quality, and the prices are very reasonable.

Great Kosher sushi, they also cater for events. Friendly management, take-out only.
