I get take out a few times. Salmon Maki set is a good value and tastes good. I think take out is better quality then AYCE

Who are these fake ppl commenting nonsence about avocado not being enough on a roll. Some ppl will never be happy. This place is my go to spot. Anyone I recommend always go back and keep.going back. Sooo you ppl musy be rookies and not appreciate gast good fresh food.

I aint gonna lie, THIS PLACE SUCKS SO BAD, I was there yesterday for my 18th birthday jus to make my lunch cheap. As soon as I came in the service was so poor, the waitress didnt even let my family and I decide what to eat, she kept rushing us to order the all you can eat option. I know for a fact that she just wanted to the money and just forced up to pick, when we didnt pick the all you can eat option, she had this attitude toward my mom. Firstly, the food so dry and the seaweed was stale, the onion rings in my moms bento box was so dry she barely could take a bite into it. I DONT RECOMMEND EATING THE BENTO BOXES. Secondly, the washroom has got to be sexist or something, My girlfriend and my Mom said the girls washroom was clean and spotless, but for the boys washroom, it was so dirty and had a stench to it, there was mold everywhere especially the urinals. I am very disappointed in this food experience. I would not recommend coming here unless you want to somewhere cheap and inexpensive. I wish i could give this place a 0 star but I cant so imma fake being nice and give it a 1. SORRY WAKAME SUSHI BUT YOU SUCK

Ordered the lunch combo for a meeting. Tasty sushi, California roll miso soup and salad. The lunch combo was delicious and great value! Fast and friendly service. Highly recommend.

I have been there a number of times because I live in the neighbourhood and their prices are very affordable. I finally decided not to go back there again. Some days the items are delicious but other days the same food can be hard to eat. The taste, quality or quantity of the items are not consistently good or bad. It s a hit or miss so instead of taking any more chances, I just pay a little more to other sushi restaurants who care about maintaining their qualities.

I have come here every week for the lunch box the food was very good. But last Friday, I ordered 5 Kyoto bento boxes for a family dinner It was terrible the food is old and tastes horrible Tempura potato tastes like raw Tempura shrimp overcooked and oily well done steak teriyaki which was supposed to be rare. Ive been coming here occasionally for over 10 years now, and it has been consistently good this whole time - good prices, good sushi, good service. Would highly recommend the cream cheese wontons

$27.99 adult lunch for AYCE. Pretty alright, some of the sushi was a lot better than other options on the menu. The beef short rib was good, as was the spicy salmon roll. You order it all on the iPad.

UPDATE: I recently saw them put receipts on top of hot food that melted chemicals into the food. I understand the need to get through the rush, but I dont think Ill be eating chemicals, thanks. 2 stars off. Old review: Great food, service is a little slow. I would recommend if you are not in a rush.

Great food, very quick service, & hard working friendly staff. My girlfriend and I especially love the cheese wontons! Would highly recommend anyone come and visit. The portion sizes are great and the quality of the food is excellent.

Last visit was very disappointing. Probably is the last time when I visit this place. It used to be ok but not anymore. Food a little bit more expensive, and actually less food then before. And on top of that, because it was almost closing time, they literally pushed me to finish my dinner faster and get out of there. I felt humiliated. I never go there again. Better spend money somewhere else.

Real good sushi and it was real crowded when I went on a Saturday night. Solid though, so well worth the price. One piece of sashimi is literally 3x the size of anywhere else.

Decent food, decent service, decent pricing. Why 2 stars? When you pack take-out orders, I ask that you separate the raw fish and the hot food. By the time I got home to eat my fish it was all cooked. If I wanted a medium rare I ll go to the keg thanks.

I chose to go here for my birthday dinner, and as soon as I sat down I saw a cockroach on my plate. Got up and left immediately probably won t come here again which sucks because I used to like it. If there is one cockroach there have to be many. Was really disappointed as I used to like the place when it opened, but after that experience I cant say I d go back.

I had a very disgusting and disappointing experience at the Bathurst location while dining with my family. A cockroach climbed down from the wall onto our table during our meal. We attempted to discreetly bring it to the servers attention to avoid embarrassing them. She was apologetic and said she would advise the manager. Meanwhile, I think the patrons at the table next to us took notice of what happened and were horrified. They quickly asked for the bill to make their exit. The manager returned and said she would give us a discount after offering another apology. She said they have the place treated for cockroaches weekly! We were taken aback but did not make a fuss. The bill was brought to us and we were offered a 15% discount that amounted to $9.00. We were less than impressed by the gesture and asked if we could also pay by cash that normally allows for 10% off. The server refused to honour their policy and said that we had already received a discount. We have been coming for years because the food was decent and inexpensive. Its not a fancy place but this is no excuse for not having any class, acceptable standards, and a basic understanding of social etiquette when unfortunate situations like this occur. I would recommend against going to this place unless of course you dont mind vermin at your table or possibly in your food.

Good food but I dont like how they charged a $3 fee to change from one fish to another. Especially since the salmon I requested was the cheaper of the two. They literally charged me to save them money.

Worst customer service ever. waited about 25 mins trying to order and not a single employee got any of our attention. Not even any eye contact. Even though we are already giving them signs of frustration and they cant seem to get any type of body language since they cant barely speak english anyways .. Will never go here and will spread the word about how this place have the worst customer service. No wonder you guys have a 3* , i shouldve looked in your reviews first before wasting our time to even step in

Ordered off uber eats got a a chicken roll and beef roll, the chicken tasted very off and it didnt not taste good at all. Woke up in the morning sick and in a lot of pain in my stomach this was the food i have eaten all day so i would be safe to say that their food was the reason i became sick

We didn t feel rushed at all, and they were very hospitable. Downside is they have iffy sashimi; sometimes it s decent, sometimes it s not at all. For the price it s okay sushi, but this is not at all by any means my favourite place. This is a place I go to last minute if need be for a quick sushi craving, but I ve only had it a handful of times.

I ve been going here since I was 7 or 8, and it s an amazing place! The flavor is so good, and the miso soup is the perfect level of sauce! The sushi you can eat for DAYS and it makes you full so fast. They also serve a couple flavor of ice cream, and they are all amazing!! I love this place, I 100% recommend!

Been eating here since it opened. However last night, ordered via UBEREATS and the California rolls (all of them) still had wrappers on the imitation crab inside the sushi.

It was very nice to return back after quite some time. The food and service was excellent. The wakame bento box was so delicious and the variety of food included was so nice. They changed the menu which great to see. The hand rolls are fresh and delicious. We will definitely return back. We also liked the fact that they now use white plastic covers on the tables and are immediately removed before the next customers are seated

Have not been here in over 7 years. The all you can eat lunch special is not what it used to be. No Sashimi @ $26.95 leaves a lot to be desired. The quality of the Spicy Crispy Tuna hand roll and maki are still amazing. The tea came out lukewarm and the place needs a deep cleaning starting in the bathroom making its way up.

Long-time customer. Seaweed salad got VERY small and 1 of 2 ordered was bad (inedible). Also, giving 2 very small soya sauces for a large order?? One tray had 2 & the other had none. Was this missed or intentional? Quality control is very lacking

Biggest japanese food portion for a $17+ Bento Meal. Delicious and filling. Worth your money all the way. Havent tried their all you can eat since the bento is already the top notch in their category.

Youll definitely want to get reservations as it gets very busy during the dinner rush. Service also suffers due to it being busy. On the plus side the food here is excellent. Ive had both their all you can eat and a la carte menu. You cant go wrong with either. Would recommend this place for good quality sushi.

We got takeout because well... covid. Anyway, it was good! Ill be ordering again today and I see that they deliver! No service charge or delivery fee needed unlike uber eats! Ive been 4 times. I see that the reviews arent great but personally, ive only experienced good things here and honestly for the same thing, they are cheaper than compared to yonge street!

Very disappointed on the food i orded on the menu it said fried udon noodles and it came soggy and wet and the chicken was jelly with bad smell, i could not eat the food, and we ordered a bento box with salmon and the salmon had a big fat string and was in very bad condition it was not a grate taste at all. A waste of money and will not order this foods again. Very disappointed.

The food is very good but unfortunately this is the most frustratingly inconsistent restaurant i have ever ordered from. they forget to add the sauces on some things on at least 25% of orders. They have delivered the wrong dishes to us again and again, if you order for a specific time they just make it right away and deliver it without checking (e.g. 1 hour ahead of when you ordered it for). the website hasnt worked correctly for reordering old olders forever, but they never respond to comments. that having been said, we keep ordering. but we used to order weekly and now i explore other restaurants whenever i can. if you have the opportunity, eat-in, dont order out.

We have been customers of Wakeme for years, lately the quality is less than sub par. The rolls fall apart. The fish is dry and there rolls have missing item, such as fish egg.

This is my girlfriend and Is absolute favorite place to get sushi! The food is amazing, prices are fair, and pretty quick for service. I am a pretty regular costumer and its for a reason. I recommend checking this place out of youre looking for one!

Compared to this other Japanese cuisine place I went to Wakame Sushi is just way better in almost every way. The food tastes good, the price for the amount of food they give you is decent, and it only took them under 15 minutes to make my food. I got the Kyoto bento and it comes with teriyaki chicken, shrimp and vegetable tempura, California sushi rolls, miso soup, salad, and a fortune cookie. This is definitely a place I will be visiting again soon.

We dont know about the other location but this is our experience with takeout from the Sheppard location: The seafood udon was insipid, tasteless and frankly I dont think the seafood was fresh as its stink permeated our car. The windows are still open. The grilled squid, Ika Yaki, was tough, dry and bitter to taste from being over grilled into charcoal. Never ate shoe leather before but this must be as close to that as possible. Simply unpalatable. The tempura was oily and limp. 5 hours later still getting food repeat!!! The spicy tuna and spicy salmon were neither spicy nor worth the cost as they seemed to have been put together without any sort of preparation or culinary thought. The spring rolls were very dry, more suitable as casters to move furniture! The entire takeout went into the compost bag while $72.26 went down the drain. One star only because there is no zero or negative star. Never again from this location!

Great food! The fish is fresh and very creamy. Unfortunately, the service was horrendous. I used to order their food through Uber eats very often and decided to go visit the physical location. Big mistake! Now that restaurants are open I ll choose other places for sushi, which is a shame because the food at Wakame Sushi is indeed great, far better than the service they offer.

Bad service

Their chicken was sooooooo dry and salty. I couldnt even chew cuz my mouth felt hurt eating that. Paid $30 for the foods and I felt like I was eating someones leftover from last night. :( Should get improvement on that. Tampera was okay.

Just ordered a spicy salmon roll. There was no spicy sauce at all in or on the roll, furthermore the rice was terribly dense and sticky, it tasted like leftovers. I could not eat it and threw it out, thats how bad it was. I wont be back to this place. I would rate it zero stars if possible. I dont know why this place survives!

Rice was undercooked and it was shocking to see how they put hot miso soup right beside our sushi in one plastic bag. The taste was mediocre and I will never eat from this place again.

Ive lived in the area for years and hadnt tried this place. Its in a plaza and doesnt look like much from outside, but its like your regular all you can eat Japanese place. I was happily surprised. This will be my go to for all you can eat sushi now. Its nearby and parking is available and free. You select good from your iPad and it includes ice cream

It has affordable price for bento boxes, and the food is tasty and has a an excellent portion. One thing is that I ordered for a beef ribs kyoto bento but they gave me beef brisket.

Phoned ahead an order, when I came to pick up there was a line up. Some customers expressed annoyance because their orders were a bit late but come on, they were busy, and its dinnertime. By the time my order was ready the lineup was all cleared. Thank you for your service and staying open during the 2020 crisis.

I have never been told to leave a restaurant after waiting 10 minutes because they could not find a table for 3. They absolutely fault costumer service.

This place has a lot of mixed reviews but i have never once had any real concerning issues with the quality, taste, or presentation of their food or service. We order from here often enough that we know what we like. We only get take out and everything is packaged appropriately and well. Sometimes our hot apps aren t so hot, but I m not crying over it.

Started ordering here after COVID-19 pandemic. Delivery and takeout have been super easy and the food has been excellent. No complaints.

By far one of the worst sushi places. The food itself isnt terrible but the service is some of the worst service I have ever experienced. I have gone back a couple of times in hopes that the servers would maybe learn how to serve tables but every time i go the experience is just as bad. The servers will forget half of your food, charge you for things they dont even bring to the table and they are in no way friendly. This place is not worth it. You pay a more expensive all you can eat price, for food and service that is worse than McDonalds. From now on I will be going to Chako or 168, they are just as expensive but at least their service is better

Goodbye wakame. We were dining and taking out for few years now. The last two visits ruined it all. Owner/manager became very cheap and quality dropped significantly. Do not recommend this restaurant any longer. Previously we refered all our friends, but now we warn all not to go there at any price.

It s located at a very convenient place. Food is ok! And reasonably priced for a la carte sushi. I don t usually do all you can eat here! Service was good. Food was okay, only concern I had was they introduced this loyalty program and they had so many issues and excuses not to award it! Things like oh it s not working and then all of a sudden they discontinued it! Wasn t the best experience.

This is one of the worst place. I would give 0 star if I could 1. Sashimi - not fresh. White tuna isnt white. We had smelly salmon and they tried to charge extra because we didnt eat. 2. Water - water should be given as service. They charged almost 2 dollars per bottle. Really? Charging water in restaurant. 3. They charged tip within bill then charged extra for tip. Lol tip is not mendatory
