Saw the lobster combo from YouTube last night and it only costs 88.8then we decided to try it out. I ordered take away and it was ready to pick up when I reached the restaurant. I didn t check the foods at the restaurant as the reviews online are quite good. But when I reached home I found the mango looked like rotted. At first I thought might be it was oxidized so I tried to cut off the darker part and tasted the rest. But IT TASTED LIKE ROTTED! I don t want to guess whether they do it on purpose for take out orders. Just would like to shared the fact.

I ve always loved the food here, despite the higher cost, but after my recent experience, I won t be returning. We ordered a new dish for the first time and didn t like it, which can happen. We didn t ask for it to be replaced for free we were willing to order another dish and take the original one home. However, the restaurant flatly refused, citing that it was 8:45 PM. Even after we politely expressed our concerns, they made us leave without any attempt to accommodate us. What truly disappointed me was the lack of basic courtesy and respect. When a guest walks in hungry, the least you can do is treat them with dignity and take responsibility for making the experience right. It would have gone a long way if they had simply handled the situation with care and offered to make another dish. The food is good, but customer service should match the quality on the plate. Sadly, it did not.

Ate there many times for last 12 months . Spicy chicken, szenchuan chicken , general Tao chicken are so dry to eat !!! They pretty much refry them !! Taste super dry . Please stay away . Told them but they don t change many time but they don t care much . Owner is super rude !! Come with 8 ppl and complaining me that why did I asked for 10 ppl seat when only 8 of us ????! I don t even know what is so big deal !? I can t control if coworkers coming or not !!? Not sure why he is so anger when dining there .. there were many empty tables !! So what was wrong !?

When you walk in the place looks pretty nice. Unfortunately thats where it all ends. Dishes are flavorless and do not taste like any Thai dishes at all. Meat quality is horrible. Got the chilli chicken which not only had portion issues, but the chicken tasted old and has a beer batter like coating that makes it taste like fish. My friend got the Thai spicy basil and paid 3 extra dollars for beef. The beef was horrible. Its similar to the beef quality you would get from an Asian food court takeout place. Chewy slices with very little meat. Thai iced tea was okay but the condensed milk was all on the bottom and had to be stirred Definitely do not recommend this place - no idea what the high reviews are talking about

First time here after some years and tried their Drunken noodles which tasted good and sweet but not winey. The Thai dumplings were standard Chinese fare but with the Thai peanut sauce only. Serve you water and does not suggest a % tipping which is good and proper.

Not sure about their fancier meals but the simple Pad Thai and spring roll we got were pretty bad. Pad Thai was very sour as if the sauce was made entirely of lime. The spring roll was just gross. I couldnt take more than one bite. Definitely not worth the price. Id go to Thai Express over this place.

We ordered the lobster set meal, but the lobsters only came with heads and tails. There was no meat. It felt like the lobsters were cooked in a pot before. When you come to the table, you can get one portion. More meat and less meat depends on luck The waiter service is very good

To start with, this place looks great. Well designed and decorated. The service was amazing and all staff were very willing to help. The service was incredible. We came here to try the lobster curry, and wow there was so much flavour. The deal we got had a seafood fried rice, mango salad and bread accompanied with it. Really loved all the dishes. We finished it off with some honey fried banana and ice cream which was recommended by the server. Let s just say, that didn t last too long. Definitely coming back to try other menu items.

Not a bad place to go for lunch but the food isnt really authentic thai. The shrimp chips were pretty good, they also give you soup with the lunch special. The pad gra pao was too salty and could use more basil. Pad thai was average. The interior is nice and clean.

I havent been to this restaurant in years but decided to give thei pad thai try .. Let me tell you.. this food was amnazing!!! and the nuts on top gave it extra flavour . 10/10 for sure

I visited the store around 2:30 today, and there were three people working at the front. I assume one of them was either the manager or the boss. We didnt feel particularly welcomed when we entered, but that was fine since we had driven 40 minutes to enjoy a meal based on the many positive reviews we had read. We ordered coconut soup, mango salad, traditional Pad Thai, and Curry Lobster. I had two to three sips of the soup and probably five chunks of mango salad before our main dishes arrived. They looked good, but we hadnt tried them yet. As a waitress was cleaning the table beside us, she placed used cups on top of dirty plates and didnt carry a tray. As she passed our table, the cups fell to the floor, and the water spilled on my face, on the lady at the next table, and all over our dishes and chairs. We were unsure how it happened, but we clearly saw the water drop onto our food. The waitress smiled and apologized as she walked away. I used a napkin to dry my plate and face, contemplating whether I should continue eating. Honestly, I didnt feel comfortable seeing leftover water from other people on my dishes. I waved to get the manager/owners attention and described what had happened. The waitress claimed the water was from the lobster dish, but I told them it was clearly from the cups, and the chairs were wet as well. I asked if we could have new dishes. The owner questioned me, asking if I wanted everything replaced. I said yes, but the soup and salad were fine since we had already tried them. The owner then questioned me again, in a strange tone, asking if I wanted everything replaced. I was shocked by his attitude but remained calm and asked him to consider how he would feel as a customer. Suddenly, he suggested that we cancel the order and said we didnt need to pay and could leave. I was taken aback by this response, as it seemed he thought we were making things up. If he had simply offered to replace the dishes, we would have been happy to pay. He didnt even apologize initially but took one of the dishes away and yelled at the waitress, blaming her for the trouble. She did make a mistake, but there are better ways to handle such situations. Finally, he came over, took the lobster away, and said he was sorry before walking away. The table next to us saw everything and commented on the terrible customer service. I work in hospitality, and I understand that customers can sometimes be challenging. As a customer, I try to be easygoing, but this level of service was shocking. Additionally, I started to worry whether our dishes would be served to other customers, given the owners attitude. Now, almost 12 hours later, Im actually relieved that he asked us to leave. Theres no guarantee that the dishes would have been properly replaced, and the whole experience has left me concerned about the standards of the establishment. I would suggest the owner take a course in customer service and restaurant management. Proper training could help prevent situations like this in the future and ensure a better experience for all customers.

Here for Bday dinner. The special was curry Lobster which was cooked in a very tastey golden curry sauce. We added a spicy pad Thai and fried rice dish. Lots of food for 4 people. Dishes were all well cooked. The noodles were more heat than I could handle. Service staff are attentive, efficient and some are friendly. English is spoken by most but all understand it. Menu is in English. Both Thai and Chinese dishes are offered.

After a couple of visits to Canadian Thai, I can say they exceed expectations! The meals were not only delicious but also plated and portioned nicely, leaving us completely satisfied. The staff was great (Helen) providing friendly and attentive service. The ambiance was lovely, with a tasteful, clean decor and a relaxed atmosphere. A must-visit for anyone craving authentic Thai cuisine! My family and I will certainly be back again.

Surprised at the people giving positive reviews here. Another reviewer summed it up perfectly, this is westernized Chinese food that you find in a mall food court. Tom yum soup and pad thai are gross, they drown everything in this sickening, overly sweet and sour pork sauce. Fried spring rolls are terrible and bland, I ve had so much better at Asian supermarkets. They give out free soup with certain meal sets which might as well be burnt water cooked in a pot. Don t come here, go to Salad King or Pai downtown instead.

Took advantage of the lunch specials. The Tom Yum soup was really tasty and flavourful. The Traditional Pad Thai was pretty good, but a little bit bland...I would like to try the Street Style Pad Thai next time to compare. The star of the show was the Green Curry, which was rich and creamy with a nice level of heat. Atmosphere was very pleasant and service was exceptional.

Its been challenging to find a hot and sour as good as the old Spadina Gardens downtown - this place comes close. Had the basil beef - very very good. Also the General Tao, a bit too sweet for my liking. Service is impeccable. Food great. The atmosphere is really nice - very well appointed place.

Everything about this place is phenomenal. Good food, great atmosphere and friendly staff, especially Helen that has always served us with compassion and smile.

Canadian Thai has been a go-to place for us since my family discovered it a couple of years ago at its Woodbine/Steeles Ave. E. location. We enjoy the food here and the service is good too. Manager Helen remembers her guests! We always start with the Mango Salad which is just the right mix of sweet and tangy with a little spicy kick. On our most recent visit we tried the Thai Coconut Soup, which was also quite flavourful. On different visits weve tried the Traditional and Street Style Pad Thais as well as the Pad See Ew and Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodle). Again, you cant go wrong with any one of these. Any of the Authentic Curry dishes are also good and not overly spicy. Try the Coconut Rice to go along with your meals. Its a good, mildly-sweet balance to the savoury sauced dishes. We almost always have the Jasmine Tea, which washes everything down nicely! The nice thing is we always get a table and making reservations for bigger parties is very easy. Lots of free parking as well.

More like a 3.5 star restaurant. The staff are very friendly and the service is pretty efficient. As many has mentioned here before, the food is not authentic Thai cuisine. It has more of a fusion flare. They even have many spicy Szechuan dishes. The food is not bad at all, its just that its fusion and not authentic, and a bit on the pricy side. This place has good ambience, but when we were there, some patrons were talking at the top of their lungs, almost sound like yelling, and that makes our time there very unpleasant. The mango sticky rice is the highlight of our meal. Parking: The free parking lot for the restaurants is about 5 minutes walk away. There are not too many spaces there. There is an covered/underground parking, but not sure if its free.

Highly recommend their apps. The tom yum and skewers were very flavorful. The basil beef dish I got, I didnt really taste the basil so it just tasted like a plain saucy beef dish. Im glad it was tender. We also ordered a dry Hakka chicken and its pretty good. Wish it was a bit spicier. Will try their curry next time.

Nice atmosphere. We had two lunch specials and requested green tea to drink. Food was tasty, soup was included as part of the lunch along with two spring rolls. We received the hot and sour soup thick and cold. Not even a hint of warmth. We didn t send it back, instead packed it to go. To our surprise the bill included an automatic 15% gratuity, and to our even greater surprise, a $6.95 charge for the green tea! The lunch specials we ordered were $14.99 and $17.99 - the tea alone was almost half the cost of one meal!!! We weren t told when we requested green tea that it was an additional charge. I can t recall any Thai restaurant where I have dined that green tea was not complimentary. And for these reasons, I will no longer be their customer.

Nice ambiance, BUT besides that, everything is terrible. Do not waste your quota eating bad food here. Taste and texture is all off. Tom Yum soup was overly sour. Spring Roll was mushy inside, sauce was watered down. Pad Thai was way too saucy, chicken tasted weird, tofu had fridge flavour, lime and garnish was dried (not fresh because you can tell they were pre-cut and left in fridge uncovered). Owner should really check the quality of their food and taste it!

Nice looking restaurant. Potential turnkey establishment for the next owner. As many have mentioned in the reviews , indeed this is not authentic Thai cuisine. Staff and owner are Chinese. I honestly can care less of the people making it as long as it taste good. Issue is that I don t even think the person (people) cooking even taste what they cook. If they did, I trust they wouldn t let it out the kitchen as this is just made my top 5 WORST food in my mouth. Tom Yum soup. Sour is an understatement. Be warned. Pad Thai. The worst ever. Wrong sauce, soggy, bland chicken (not sure if was actually fresh TBH) and had a little fridge taste, tofu not the freshest. Vegetarian egg rolls. Skin is crispy but sunken by the mushy god knows what Ingredients. Also served with a watery sweet sauce. I wonder if they water it down to extend the sauce batch? Pad gra prao. Best of the worst dishes tried today. But not much to say either. Cook, You should be ashamed. It s obvious your skills are questionable and you don t know what Thai cuisine supposed to taste like. No sweat, many people YouTube and able to produce something edible. To the least, better than the Frankenstein you ve created today. Food/experience literally made my wife and I sad, depressed, and disappointed.

The food is authentic and delicious. Value is there with great prices. Every time I come here, the service is impeccable. Absolutely worth it! My Fiance has Celiac disease and they were absolutely able to accomodate gluten free food items.

This was the most bland tasting pad thai I had ever had. The chicken didnt have any flavour. The noodles didnt have flavour. If boiled water was a flavour then this was it and Canadian Thai succeeded. The portion size was good. The spring rolls were luke warm. I literally took three bites and I was done and a waste of $17.00. Parking: I was able to park in front of the restaurant.

Used to come here frequently when they first opened. Stopped going as often when I switched to working from home. Last few times Ive visited (over a few months) the quality and quantity seems to have declined while prices have shot up. One time in Summer 2023, I went in after calling ahead and placing an order. I arrived 20 minutes after calling but they had either forgotten to make or input my order. I said no problem even though this was cutting into my lunch break. When the food was ready, the lady told me You should call ahead. When I tried to tell her that I had called & that THEY had messed up, she cut me off and PUSHED me out of the store. Funnily enough, I still came back a few times after that for a lunch special (which they gave me multiple times without the spring roll/soup). This happened to me again today where they skimped out on my soup/spring roll which is why Im finally making this review and will never be returning there. Im patient and used to work in the restaurant industry which is why I gave them several more chances after their worker placed their hands on me, but I will now gladly be giving my money to other restaurants that will respect me and not this one.

The water glass was wet, the smell of disinfectant was strong, the waiter was sweeping the floor during the meal, and a mandatory tip was added to the bill. Very bad experience.

Ive been a customer for a long time and I always liked their food and their portions were normal size. Yesterday I paid $23 before tax for the smallest ever curry portion, the container is half of what it used to be and the price is of course higher than before. I understand the inflation, but to charge this amount for this size is preposterous. Of course you do not know the size of what you are ordering is this ridiculously small until it arrives at your door. Shrinflation trend is real, and customers need to push back. If it does not make financial sense to be in the food business anymore, then restaurants should simply not be in the food business, instead of passing the completely senseless costs to the customer while keeping their profit margin. This is not only Canadian Thai, everywhere we are expected to pay more money for less food, tip the staff as well as the driver on top of the delivery fee, god forbid you tip less than 20% nobody will ever pick up the delivery order, it just never ends. One tiny meal ends up costing you over $40, so at least for me this is the end of the road - I will never order from Canadian Thai again.

Not really Thai taste

This restaurant is a new discovery. The food is nice and clean. The food is not greasy, doesnt leave you feeling gross like you ate too much even though you ate a little bit. Its our go to Thai place, its so close and convenient with lots of parking. We have gotten takeout from here many times. The owner is always so pleasant and makes you feel like a family member. **The signature Canadian thai rice is delicious. It sounds odd to the average person, but the cranberries were surprisingly good. I always get the signature rice, its more flavourful than other Asian restaurants in the area. Vegetarian options: Its asian food, its always vegetarian friendly. Parking: A few spots out in front of the restaurants but those are for quick pickups. Dont park there if youre eating in the restaurants, theres a parking lot for that.

Pretty new restaurant, I ordered the Drunken Noodles and Thai coconut soup. They were pretty good, the Thai coconut soup was sweet and not too spicy; I recommend it. Got 10% off for dining in, and you can get 20% off for takeout.

Food is good. We had Thai tea (condensed milk with ice tea ) , Thai dumplings, pineapple rice with chicken and shrimp, veg spring rolls and veg drunken noodles with peanut sauce. The food was authentic Thai and tasted very good. Wish the man who was serving us didnt keep murmuring around while walking near our table, it felt weird behaviour. They even gave us fortune cookies later so that was sweet of them.

Use to go here when then were on John St. About a year ago my dad went in to pay cash and they said his $20 was fake. Hundreds if not thousands spent here. Boycotting.

Its our 2nd time here. The curry crab is so yummy! Finished the whole plate including the sauce! Must try Coconut soup with shrimp, grilled platter, pineapple fried rice are delicious as well. Service is excellent and will sure come more often

Good service, food and reasonably priced

Thought we d give it a try since we love Thai food, but let me be clear, we love authentic Thai food. Ordered the pad see ew with chicken and red curry with beef. The protein in both dishes were very tender. However, the pad see ew was way too salty, the noodles reminded me of the Cantonese beef and Chinese broccoli fried noodles but harder and the flavour of the dish was off. The red curry wasn t bad, more on the sweeter side, but nothing spectacular. It wasn t busy when we went so it was a nice environment to have lunch in. Decor is nice and modern. I may give this place another shot and try something else on the menu but I wouldn t recommend the pad see ew.

I order through Uber eats. They forgot to deliver a portion and when I called they told me that can not help .and ask me to deal with Unber eats. Manager was not available to talk.. horrible customer service experience. Food mediocre, never order from This place again!!!

Dined in and funny how when we got our bill, the waiter took it upon himself to tip himself! He took the liberty of tipping himself, then handed us the machine to pay We were kind of confused why we weren t prompted with the tip screen on the machine, but figured we would give cash tip after the fact. Once the receipt printed, we realized he tipped himself 35%! never had this experience before, but needless to say that we won t be returning to a business that operates in such a manner. I understand business may be slow, but that doesn t give anyone the right to force gratuity on customers. Food wasn t that great either to be frank- tasted bland and the pad Thai was sour. Plenty of other Thai restaurants that offer better food and service!

I got the chicken pad Thai curry, it was lacking sauce & only like 5 small pieces of chicken. Overall it was okay, wouldn t get it again personally. There is parking beside the restaurant. Restaurant was clean and modern looking.

I used to go to this restaurant when they were at Leslie and John. I didnt know if they moved or closed down. I found them again and they are my go to Thai place and even closer to my house. Great food and customer service. Tried these rice wrap spring rolls today. Delicious and perfect food for a summer appetizer.

Try their green curry, no where else can compare the awsome taste

I m Asian so the food must really be exceptional for me to be impressed. It was somewhere between mediocre and really good. However, I ordered delivery via door dash and holy cow. I ordered the Thai coconut soup with shrimp and 3 pcs of shrimp spring rolls and my bill amounted to almost $25.00. To say I wasn t impressed is an understatement. Maybe I m giving the restaurant an unfair rating because it was through delivery but I was shocked that the soup which was barely a cup plus 3 spring rolls cost that much money.

I had a green curry chicken with rice. Overall the quality is good. The green curry is tasty and not too salty. However, it can be more creamy and more spicy. The environment is great. The attendant is friendly and diligent. A nice Thai food restaurant to visit.

Stopped through Toronto for a couple days with my girlfriend. Had the most amazing curry pad thai and coconut water here. The owner and I had a great conversation as well. Truly a wonderful evening. Would come back 100%

Got Uber eats, the pad Thai is not authentic pad Thai. It tastes oddly sour, the noodles were soggy, had no wok flavour. Honestly the worst pad Thai I ve ever eaten.

It was not crowded on a week night. The atmosphere was fine. I ordered satay beef as the appetizer, basil chicken and shrimp pad kee mao as main dishes. They all tasted good. The service was so-so. In general, an ok experience.

Well this was a great little find, close to our hotel~a delicious meal had by my husband and I, 2 nights in a row. Popular little place.. 5 stars all around, we were pretty impressed. The Thai Vermicelli was my pick, ask for the special sauce made in house to pour over the top. Lovely flavours. Little Shout Out to our waitress, she was charming. Thank you.. Grease, grease, and more grease. You can see your reflection in the vegetables. I understand it s take out but ffs you re not supposed to have more oil in the pan than noodles and veg.
