Street style Thai takeout inspired from all around Thailand. All of our sauces are homemade with unique flavours, inspired through years of culinary adventures throughout Southeast Asia. We put forth our best love, passion, & knowledge in hopes to pass on delicious food & memories!
Delicious food! We had the phat kaphrao and the flavours were fantastic. Adding you to our list of favourite toronto places.
My go to and favourite Thai spot in the city! The staff are always kind and accommodating when making any revisions to orders. The food is so tasty and flavourful. I’ve never been the biggest fan of tofu, until it was prepared so deliciously crispy here! The tofu pad Thai is my favourite and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for good portions and well cooked food! 🙂
My grandma had an appointment across the street, so I thought treating her to lunch would be the perfect excuse to finally try this place out. Fantastic service, super fresh and delicious food, and very accommodating of my 97 year old grandma’s needs! The curry was perfect, and really hit the spot on a cold day (as a good Thai curry always will). Would definitely recommend, and I plan on coming back to get the mango sticky rice.
Best Thai food ever! Every dish was a flavor explosion—the Pad Thai was perfectly balanced, sweet, and tangy, while the Green Curry was rich and full of depth. The service was outstanding; the staff was friendly and made excellent recommendations. If you’re craving authentic Thai street food, this place is a must-try. I can’t wait to go back! Five stars for the incredible flavors and great service!
Amazing Thai food! We had the curry pad thai, pad thai, khao soi, and iced coffee. First time here and definitely not the last!
Amazing food. Can customize spice level for each dish. Food is fresh, delicious and made within 15-20 min if not too busy. Small business and quality is amazing! I got pad see ew veganized. So good! I got chili oil on the side to add as well. Also got cashew chicken wings and phat kaphrao chicken (mild) . Highly recommend! Mostly a takeout restaurant.
AUTHENTIC AND DELICIOUS! The food was so flavourful and with generous portion sizes. Everything was freshly prepped yet wait time was only ~15-20 mins. Spice level was customizable. We ordered the pad thai, phat kaphrao, mango salad, and mango sticky rice - would recommend all of these! The thai iced tea and coconut smoothie were tasty too, just didn't get a picture of those. Overall, the food here will bring you literal joy. We can't wait to come back!
Really great food, generous portion sizes and reasonable prices — been here 6 times in the span of 1.5 months! Love that many things on the menu that can be made vegan (you just have to ask, because they’re not labelled on the menu, and not vegan by default). I’ve had all the curries and they’re all amazing — especially the massaman curry :) I’ve also had the pad thai, which was great!
This is a takeout place. Food is excellent and service is prompt. Will definitely order again. Food
The 5 star reviews are no joke. Everything we ordered was so good. I gotta give a shout-out to the cashew chicken wings and Khao Soi - flavours were insane!
Ordered several times through DoorDash and plan on visiting Phar Kaphrao in-person. Perfect Thai food every time! I havent had such great Thai food in years! Pad Thai (a couple times), pad see ew (this was mind-blowing Ive never had pad see ew taste this good before from anywhere), tom yum soup, and perfectly blended Thai iced tea. They use really good quality shrimp and chicken too. So grateful this restaurant exists!
Amazing food, wish they did dine in and had more drinks options but other than that food was so good!
Didnt believe the reviews, but went a little out of the way. One of my favourite uptown Thai places.
Great food and friendly staff
The best Thai food in toronto. I come here all the time for their Thai iced tea and pad see ew. Soooo delicious!
This place is really really good. The dishes I had were better than Pai for half the price. Owners are super friendly and accommodating too. As my kids say (or maybe me) More Fat Cow!
Excellent Thai, not sweetened, nicely balanced seasoning.
Great food with great staff, a must go to place for authentic and delicious Thai food. Joseph and his staff are friendly and welcoming. 10/10! Vegetarian options: Mango salad
Only 12 health department infractions, my oh my how tasty!
Ive been eating at this place since they started and I cant say enough good things about the owner and the quality of the food! Best Pad Thai I ever ate! Vegetarian options: My sister is a vegetarian and the chef always accommodates. Dietary restrictions: The chef will make sure they accommodate anything you need.
Love love love this restaurant ! True authentic food with flavours ! You can tell there so much thought put into the dishes. Restaurant and premises look clean and it s a cute space ! I had green Thai curry with spring rolls. Overall one of the best food places for Thai cravings
Amazing food and great service! Will come back
I used to visit this place regularly when it first opened, but after moving out of the city, I hadn t been in a while. Passing through recently, I made it a point to stop by and I m so glad I did! I was fortunate enough to run into Joe, who not only remembered me but also made the experience as enjoyable as ever with a super warm welcome. The food was amazing back then, and maybe it s been a while since the last time, but it s even better now!
I drove almost an hour to try the food here because of their high ratings/reviews. It s very hard to find authentic thai food in the city and this spot is truly a hidden gem. Quick service for takeout , very well maintained and clean inside Pad Thai : 10/10 the noodles had the perfect texture and good balance of sweet, tangy and savoury Cashew wings : 11/10 WOW one of the best wings I ve ever tried. Umami with touch a sweetness and little spicy kick Thai Iced Tea : 9/10 very concentrated which I prefer, just wished they had a bigger size
I tried the Garlic Beef from Phat Kaphrao, and I have to say, it was really good! The beef was super tender, and the garlic flavor came through perfectly without being too overpowering. Ryan was super helpful at the front and had great energy. If you re into bold, garlicky dishes, I definitely recommend giving this a try. I ll for sure be back to order it again!
The food and ambiance were both awesome! I got the Pad Thai - definitely the best I ve ever had SO tasty!! The staff had incredible charisma and the music choice was great! Thanks Ryan and Phat Kaphrao for amazing food and hospitality!!!!!!
Fast and delicious
Amazing food! This will definitely be my go to Thai restaurant from now on
Ordered Chicken Pad Thai and Green Curry Chicken, and we were pleasantly surprised by how delicious the dishes are! We re not from the neighbourhood and picked this place randomly since we were starving and glad we did! Will def be back every time we re in the area.
Delish eats with fantastic service! This tiny restaurant makes the most delicious Thai street food. The staff worked hard to get our order ready, and it was piping hot and fresh when it arrived. I would definitely come back to this place when we are in the neighborhood again!
Lots of rave reviews about the food, so Im going rogue on this one. Shout out to the chef for being a good human. He was very friendly and chatty when I came to pick up my order and expressed concern for my wife, who was the one to call in the order. He said he could tell from her voice and her coughing that she was under the weather. He paused for a moment, walked to the other side of the kitchen and came back to hand me a packet of honey ginger herbal tea to give to her. So you know, shes been sick for over 2 weeks now with what we thought was a cold, but now were thinking maybe a pneumonia or covid? Who knows. Point is that when I got home and handed the packet to her and told her who it was from, it was the first time Ive seen her smile since she got sick. Thank you, from me and my wife. Small gestures can have big impact. The world needs more small gestures. (oh, and needless to say, our meal was great. Of course.)
Apparently they ve been around since before the pandemic but I only just heard of them this year, and so glad I did! The food is delicious and the staff is very friendly. Excellent service, and quick too. I can highly recommend their Pad Thai, mango salad, peanut sauce, and coconut smoothie. I m sure the rest of their food is great too and I can t wait to try more of their dishes. So happy to have them in the neighborhood!
Flavourless and dry pad thai. The pad thai is weirdly sweet and the shrimp has no flavour and doesnt taste fresh. I dont understand the good review saying its the best Thai in the GTA. Im from downtown and all the Thai restaurants we usually go to (Chiang Mai, PAI, Imm Thai and the Lao restaurant Lao Thai) have way better pad thais. Yes the portion is generous, but thats the only thing thats good.
Simply the best Thai food in Toronto. Favourite dishes: street pad thai and massaman curry. Must try!
Great flavour on the food. I ve eaten at a ton of Thai places, and I would rank this amongst the top in Toronto. Easily worth the drive here from downtown.
A real gem in the neighbourhood. Fresh, tasteful, and enjoyable. Will definitely visit again.
It s the best Thai food in the town. I drove 40 mins from Markham to here. It worth..definitely come back!
AMAZING food! The phat kaphrao is truly one of the best Thai dishes I have ever had the chef/staff were so friendly and accommodating. Not much space to dine in, but what a gem of a spot. Truly blown away and so grateful for this delicious experience!
Good food. Small dine in area so best for takeout. Had the red curry chicken and mango salad. Red curry was good and mango salad was ok. Super friendly.
This place is a hidden gem for Thai cuisine lovers. Tucked away in a cozy corner of North York, it offers authentic dishes bursting with traditional flavors. From aromatic Green Curry to tangy Pad Thai, each dish is a delight. The service at Thai Taste was quick and impeccable. The servers are knowledgeable about the menu and eager to offer recommendations based on your preferences.
So delicious! I got the beef pad Thai and mango sticky rice. Their portions are generous and ingredients are fresh. The mango was perfectly ripe. The service was great too!!
The best thai food in the city hands down as someone that has tried all of them. The chicken rice and pad Thai are amazing. Must try.
Best thai take out in the neighborhood
Delicious food and amazing friendly staff.
Supa hot fire. Some of the best pad Thai Ive had.
Excellent food and super delicious.
Absolutely delicious Thai food. We got the pad Thai and curry pad Thai and would absolutely recommend getting both. Mango sticky rice had great quality mangos and the Thai ice tea was good too.
The Thai Green Curry and Spicy Eggplant Stir-fry were delicious. They provided a good portion size and flavour. Seating was limited (only 4 seats) but they were very accommodating for our group.
Absolutely loved the Phat Kaphrao! Bursting with flavorful Thai spices, the basil leaves perfectly complemented the savory meat. The dish had a light kick of heat without being too spicy (I requested medium spice). Quick service and an authentic taste that took me back to the streets of Thailand. An easy 5 star for me! Vegetarian options: They have vegetarian and vegan options if you request it.
Found the pad Thai to have a weird flavor not what I would expect from traditional pad thai
Bought the Khao Man Gai and the sauce was super flavorful and very addicting. Flavors were on point and I would highly recommend this dish to others.
Magical red curry; the rich coconut milk was so satiating. A flavourful blend for garlic, ginger and curry with chicken and vegetables.
I was excited to try this place after all the reviews. Can honestly say the chicken wings were a bit chewy and dry with not much flavor. The Kaphrao was tasty but nothing special. It has some good flavors going for the food but I feel its playing it too safe.
Genuine Thai food. Great taste. The food is prepared fresh right in front of you if you are willing to wait.
Amazing food! Im a Mediterranean girl and usually, I dont prefer Asian food but this one was a game changer! We ordered a bunch of things and it was just 40 bucks. The only small problem is they waited us for 1 hour. It was worth the wait!
My absolute fave.
Delicious Thai food, great service, cozy atmosphere. Highly recommend!
I got the curry pad Thai, veggie and tofu. They were so nice to put lots of tofu in mine as I requested. There was very little veggies though. Lots of noodles. It is very no frills food, simple dishes, nothing extra or loaded up, simple meals. For the price, that s great and definitely hits the spot if you re craving Thai. I definitely want to go back to try something else, see if it s maybe a little better. I also got the mango sticky rice, it was yummy.
The food was good, cozy atmosphere. We had the pineapple fried rice and cashew chicken wings, both were great. Would definitely recommend. Best Thai place I went to.
Very tasty, foods serve hot and yummy, worth to try So happy
Fantastic place to curb your thai cravings . Ordered the padthai with shrimp and pineapple fried rice with chicken with thai iced tea to drink Pad thai had fresh shrimp not from frozen. And pineapple had lots chunky bits and well cooked chicken . Thai tea with delightful Food
Such a gem. We had the Pad See Ew, Pad Thai and Phat Kaphrao with sticky rice and they were all super fresh, flavourful and some of the best Thai we ve had in the city. And the guys running it are super nice.
I love beef fried rice here, especially the staffs were friendly and served me politely! Love
Really good!! My girlfriend and I went and got the Pad Thai, Pineapple Fried Rice and Chicken Satay!! Everything was super fresh and tasted amazing! Defs would recommend!
Hands down the best Thai food! Very authentic! Papaya salad made to order, outstanding pad Thai and golden curry! We will definitely be back as the whole menu looks delicious, it was hard to decide! Amazing staff to top it off!
Delicious!
First time customer. Small take out only establishment. Tried a few items. The Mango Salad was fantastic, very fresh and delicious. The Chicken Satay was also good but was very close to being undercooked as very wet. The Pad Thai and Pineapple Fried Rice both good and serving size was good. I would rate the food a 4 but due to the almost overwhelming taste of fish sauce in the dishes I dropped rating to 3.
We love the pad thai here. Lot of noodle and chicken.
I m having these now here. I would say this is definitely the best place to eat Thai food. Highly recommend to try. You re gonna love it!
Food is excellent. Ordered a variety of dishes and each dish was very tasty. Definitely try their food, you will not be disappointed.
Hands down, this is the best food I ve had since I moved to Toronto! I LOVEEE thai food and can eat it everyday ..and this, I can eat for each meal! SOOOO GOOD! I wanted to cry!
I had Phat Kaphrao aka stir-fry Basil chicken rice. It was super delicious. Especially love the green peppercorns
Lovely Thai takeout place. Friendly staff and tasty food. Very limited seating but worth the visit. Recommend
If youre looking for delicious, authentic Thai food, look no further than this hidden gem! Phat Kaphrao offers a range of Thai dishes beyond the typical curries and pad thai to delight your taste buds. I had the Khao Man Gai (chicken on fried rice) during my recent visit. The chicken was soft and tender, and the accompanying sauce had a strong ginger taste that made the dish stand out. I appreciated that it was boneless, which made it very easy to eat. My friends tried the Phat Kaphrao (Stir fried meat with rice) and Padthai, both very fragrant and fresh. One thing I noted was how friendly and helpful the restaurant personnel were. They were happy to answer our questions, offer chilli oil on the side, and even recommended the level of spiciness for our dishes. I ordered mine medium-spicy, which had just the right amount of heat for my taste. The restaurant was small, with only four seats. We were lucky because we did not know about it but could still dine in. Most people ordered takeout instead. Overall, I had an enjoyable experience and would recommend Phat Khaphrao to anyone looking for authentic and flavourful Thai food. I cant wait to return and order more dishes, this time to go!
Best Pad Thai Ive had, we finished it all off before I can even take a photo! First time to have Taro Fries and for sure wont be the last Holy Basil / Khaprao + Thai Iced Tea are freshly prepared as well. Hats off to the staff; will try the rest when we come back!
I was attracted to this restaurant because of the high review. Actually, the food was bad. I ordered a bowl of Phat Kaphrao-Holy Basil beef with rice, which was very salty that burned my throat! The portion was small (Already double-up) but the order still costed me 19.57 dollars. It was pricy but tasted unpleasant.
This hole in the wall Thai Cuisine is AMAZING. Every time I go here the food slaps, every time I think I ll get bored and not want it all I have to do is pass this place and smell the food. The chefs are VERY skilled and know how to cook, hands down my favourite Thai place. And I have tried many Thai cuisine locations. Don t underestimate the size of this location, they ve got a lot of love they put on their food and they serve with a smile and calm music while you wait. The vibe is peaceful and allows you a chance to really talk to and hang out with the person you ve decided to have lunch, dinner etc.. with. I will always look forward to passing this place and won t ever get bored, their portion sizes are huge and definitely worth every cent. No regrets. You MUST try this place out, highly recommend!
Vegetarian options: Veggie and tofu options! Wheelchair accessibility: Likely difficult accessibility Food : 5/5 Recommended dishes
Loved it. Finally stopped by after years of driving past it. The chef/owner recommend a few items and made them fresh to order. I had the Tom Yom soup and Pad Thai. Both excellent with perfect spice level. Cant wait to go back and order more.
Green curry chicken amazing. Place is the spot.
I kept reading reviews of this place so I was taken to this place for lunch for my birthday. We ordered a lot cause sure wanted leftovers for supper to feed her kids and hubby. The lunch specials are a great deal and I highly recommend you get those. Comes with rice and soup! So we ordered lunch special: pad Thai, massaman curry, holy basil Regular dishes we ordered basil eggplant, pad see ew glass noodles, yellow curry It was interesting that he adds fresh peppercorns to the dish. It looks pretty and I bit one to make sure lol and it was black pepper alright. Would I go back? Yes for sure I d get the lunch specials plus the taro fries and I liked his glass noodles. A bit peppery but I like the flavour
Great service and delicious food!
Good food. Everyone is very welcoming.
amazing food and lovely service + vibe
If you like Thai food, you should be getting your food here
Amazing spot to pick up food on the way home. The taro fries and red curry were really good. Definitely a spot I want to try out as many things on the menu as I can.
I had no idea this restaurant was even in my area. So glad i was doing a google search and stumbled upon it, i ordered the chicken phad thai and spring rolls. It was very delishness and authentic to its region, will definitely looking at ordering more items from this place. The price point and portions are good i recommend giving them a try .
Was so surprised how great this tiny little place was, considering the neighbourhood it s in. Great portions, delicious and quality food. Very flavourful! Special shout out to the chicken satay appetizer (unbelievable!) and the Tom kha soup. But really, everything was fab.
A hole in the wall mainly take out. We sat down to eat and it s worth waiting a bit. DELICIOUS! The kitchen staff had a really good vibe and food does refract it.
Phat Kaphrao is a class-apart Thai takeout joint. I m so glad I decided to try their food this Friday. I ordered Tom Kha soup, Chicken Satay and Curried Pad Thai. First of all, their portions could give any other restaurant run for money - superbly generous. Tom Kha soup was full of flavour and a comforting dish in itself. One soup can easily give 2 generous bowls for 2 adults. Chicken Satay was my husband s favourite out of everything. It was juicy and came along with delish peanut sauce. I liked Curried Pad Thai a lot as it was light and not full of oil like regular Pad Thai. Besides the base was green curry, so a very welcome change from the usual stuff. The place was spick and span but has limited seating. I ll suggest doing a takeout instead. I don t have any pictures to share as I couldn t control myself and literally dived straight in. All of this was in $40 which made two people extremely full. Worth for money and full marks for taste. Marking it as favourite. Follow @mygourmetaffair on IG for more Toronto-based finds.
My go to for Thai food. Curry pad Thai is a must. Staff is passionate about food, can t go wrong.
The chicken phat kaphrao was so yummy that I got another one as takeout! The mango sticky rice was also good. The employees were friendly and helpful!
Amazing Thai food!
It tastes sooooo good! The green curry comes with sticky rice! Love it.
Another day another random find. We were casually looking for a place for some pas thai and stumbled across this place. They had great quality pad thais as well as great service. Only thing to watch for is the fact that they specialize in take-out meaning there are only 4 seats in the restaurant. All in all, nice little Thai restaurant.
The store here is small, but the decoration is very clean and tidy and has a green hot spot style. There are few internal places but there is enough space for internal use without feeling crowded. The amount is not too expensive but totally worth it. Their food is the best The best Thai food we have eaten in Toronto so far. We ordered Thai chicken and green curry. It was just right spicy and rich in aroma. A variety of ingredients are used and their flavors are well balanced. We would like to try other items in the future. The shop assistants are two young boys who are also very friendly and kind. If you want to eat something delicious to feel good but don t want to spend a lot of money on a big meal, we highly recommend the food here
Nice food , nice people
We were blown away by the delicious, deep flavours of the penang curry and phat kaphrao. I felt like I was in Thailand again While we were eating our meals at the seating area, there were many customers ordering and picking up food for takeout. We asked for our food to be made spicy and it was perfect with a nice kick without the spice overwhelming the dishes. It was awesome seeing young, talented people running the restaurant. Dont let the area fool you, Bathurst and Eglinton is serving authentic Thai food now. Would highly recommend!
They offer the best Thai food in GTA, period. We order online and pick up our favorites all the time (pad see ew, phat kaphrao, green curry, papaya salad, to name a few) and all the dishes are truly authentic. After trying more than a dozen Thai joints in the area we don t go anywhere else!
In a city vibrant multicultural city with great food spots from end to end, its hard for a chef to stand out. Phat Kaphrao is without question one of the most memorable places Ive eaten in the city. The Holy Basil dish has a complexity of flavours Ive never had in Thai food outside of the far east. Impressive.
I really loved the red curry!! Despite not liking tofu I ordered it with tofu and it was sooo delicious! Also the price was really really good for this big portion! Would totally come again :)
Delicious and authentic tasting Pad Thai. Service was fast and friendly. Also recommend the Thai ice tea.
Every dish had an amazing flavour and taste.
The food was FANTASTIC! There were large portions, and the cook was very nice. We got the pad thai and the massanam curry. The curry was better than the pad thai, but the pad thai was still very good. The lunch specialties are very affordable and tasty. Each dish was $14 and came with either a MANGO SALAD (with an actual decent amount of mango) or soup. It was great!
Pad Thai (fulfilling portion. Beef is meh. Mild level is kind of bland. The noodle is nicely fried Quick friendly service.
This is the spot. So so good. Came here after seeing the great Google reviews and was not disappointed. Ordered the lunch-size pad see ew and my request for some peanuts on the side was accommodated without question even when I thought I was being weird. Fresh, well-seasoned, perfectly spicy, amazing texture. I ll definitely come back again.
The food is consistently good. I have ordered a number of different dishes and they have all been fantastic. Their massaman curry is a must.
I have only tried their Hainanese chicken rice and I was amazed. The rice, scallion oil, scallion crisps, and chicken soup are very authentic. It tastes like something I have never tasted in Canada. It is very refreshing when paired with cucumber. The only downside: their mango juice comes in a plastic bag, which looks a bit like a urine bag.
I swung by for their lunch special and got the Holy Basil with chicken. It was soooo tasty--just bursting with flavours. The lunch special comes with a side of soup or salad. I got the salad--a tasty mango salad. The portions were very generous, especially for the price. 10/10 would recommend. Tasty food, great value, and excellent service. Note: the dining area is very small and can only accommodate 4 guests at a time.
Delicious food and great service! The young gentleman in the front was the Jack of all trades: he took orders, made our banana fritters, made our drinks and regularly checked in with us. Felt like a full dine in experience, even though there is only a few spots to have your meal inside, as they delayed the delivery of our dessert to time it perfectly with the completion of our main meal. Thanks!
Its nice to have a good food places in our neighborhood like this. We love here, the taste, the staff are amazing! I wish they have a bigger space so we could eat there
This place is unassuming and incredible. Moved into the area recently and ordered Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, and Curry. It is all very very good. The flavour and quality surpasses any of the more commonly frequented Thai restaurants in the city. Owner is a very nice guy.
Its awesome!!! You need for sure try this Food
Was here 3 years ago be picked up amazing food. Ordered on Uber Eats tonight (Aug 17/23) and it was the most disgusting food I have ever had. Pad Thai was bad, beef dish was 3 pieces of dried out beef and the rest was rice and the worst part was the shrimp dish that smelled awful, shrimp must have been bad. Absolutely will not be going back after wasting $60 for my dinner tonight
The best Thai food so far, it feels like I really went to Thailand
This thai restaurant is the best so far. The taste of their food is always on point and really makes me feel happy. When you are feeling down or upset, you better visit or call for order. Aside from mouthwatering food, the staff is also accommodating.
Great food - been satisfied with quality of food 9/10 times. Decent prices. Pad Thai and coconut juice is my go to.
Best Thai Restaurant in the GTA! Food 5/5 Price 5/5 Service 5/5 As a Thai food lover, and as someone who has visited Thailand, this has got to be one of the best (if not the best) Thai restaurants in the GTA. I came here for lunch and ordered the green curry lunch special. It came with an amazing mango salad. It was so good, I ended up ordering the Pad Thai and basil chicken to go. I was pleasantly surprised at how many quality vegetables were in the green curry special. You can order from the lunch menu, the dinner menu and they also cater. I highly recommend this place! Vegetarian options: Veg and Tofu options available
The food was absolutely out of this world! Every bite was like a party in my mouth. The service was amazing! I cant recommend it enough!
I loved it.
We got take out and it was good. The massaman curry had great flavour, we liked the sauce that comes with taro fries. I was so excited to get pad see ew as I ve been making it at home and wanted to try takeout. Didn t even have gai lan it was just regular broccoli and added carrots? Not on the menu and carrots not a good add to this dish imo. The pad Thai had a good taste but no cilantro, peanuts or lime. When you re paying almost 20$ for some noodles that cost maybe 1$ to make you want those flavours that make up the dish. It wasn t bad but wouldn t recommend.
The absolute best Thai food in the city! Better than the well known restaurants downtown. The portions are generous and well-priced and the service great. I can t recommend enough!
I have eaten several times from this place. it never disappoints me. One of the best Thai Food I would have had since my time in Toronto
The food is so delicious! Not even a single dish has ever disappointed me! The chefs are so talented the open is so well maintained! This is officially my favourite Thai place <3
Big portions, affordable prices and tasty food. Will be returning Food : 5/5
Not the best Thai food in the city. Expensive with smallish portions. Expectations were high due to reviews, left with disappointment.
Massive fan of Arnold & the gang. The Chicken Rice is by far our fav...
Folks, the Khao Soi on Sunday was bad. The noodles were the wrong kind, too thin, all stuck together and when I poured the soup over them they basically turned into mush. Disappointing.
First impression review: I had the pleasure of trying out Phat Kaphraos food catered at a recent work party, and I was amazed with how the food tasted! Had to submit a review. My personal fave is the Pad See Ew. Definitely recommend. Looking forward to checking out more of their dishes at the restaurant!
Ordered Phat Kaphrao for our Work Office Christmas Party and I have to say - the food was incredible. Huge fan of their pai thai, garlic chicken wings and their fried rice - 100% will be ordering from them again!
The food here is delicious, Garlic Chicken wings were the highlight. Green curry and Thai fried rice was spot on. Dont miss the Prawn cracker which was perfect to binge on. 5/5 for the food, Love it <3
Best Thai in town no competition
Definitely one of the best Thai restaurants in the city. We got Tom Yum soup, mango salad, pad Thai and massaman curry. Each dish was full of flavour and tasted delicious! Will definitely be back!
Best Thai in the city. Bar none.
the best place in the area for thai food that is cooked to prefect. nuff said
Everything we ordered was spot on...and I dont think its because my food selection skills were on that night. The food really was that good. We had a red curry, pad see ew, traditional pad Thai, holy basil and the sweet rice mango pudding. All were enjoyed by the family and we only consumed half the portion!!! From the time of order to pick up, it was a great experience. The guys were polite and patient. The food was great and the value is there. In a way, Im glad this place isnt on a hustling and bustling street like Yonge or Avenue Road because it would be jammed and I would never be able to order! Well done guys! Thanks for a great meal.
The moderate spiciness seasoning was definitely definitely enough for us.
1st time going, amazing food!!!!
Don t ever buy food from this place. I placed the order and waited at the restaurant to pick up. It s a very small space and the kitchen is in the front and I was looking at the chef who was preparing the food, he tasted the food from spatula twice and used it to cook food without even washing it. Disgusting! How could anyone do it and that too during COVID times?
Their thai iced tea are to die for Food are amazing and tasty too
Very disappointing. Pad Thai was a clumped up ball of dry noodles with no sauce or flavour. Fried rice was as dry as dust and tasted like a 99cent microwave dinner.
Happened to be in the area and decided to give this place a try. Everything we got hit the spot even the Thai milk tea was perfect. You can tell they use quality ingredients. The service was quick and friendly too
The food is amazing and their customer service is great!
Amazing food. I have bought a few times and their food never disappoints.
LOVE THIS PLACE!! Brings me back to Thailand. Owner is dedicated to spectacular service as much as he is with his amazing food. I ordered a chicken curry .. which probably is my favourite curry as of yet. I also ordered their pad thai and their aromatic fried rice. Every was so flavourful and although I was so full from their huge servings, I couldnt stop eating. Their crispy tofu, mango salad and chicken wings are the best pairing with any meal. Not to mention their coconut milkshake and thai iced tea .. it was like I stepped into a local eatery in Thailand. Thanks for such a memorable experience. I will be back soon with my whole family.
Amazing food. Great service. Friendly staff. I really enjoyed and loved every bit of their food. I felt like I was eating local food in Thailand. I highly recommend to try it.
WOWOWOW. What a restaurant. Joe & staff are always extremely friendly and professional. My go to dish is the shrimp pad thai with an order of garlic wings. That being said I have tried many other dishes and I have yet to come across something that I didn t love. If you haven t eaten here yet, you are truly missing out. I promise you won t be disappointed.
Dont be fooled by the hole-in-the-wall vibe, this Thai food is the best youll find in Toronto! Pad thai, basil chicken, and cashew chicken wings were all EXCELLENT. Flavors blended perfectly, nothing too sweet or sour, and everything was prepared fresh and quick. They have a small dining area with 4 stools but its more of a takeout place. If youre in the mood for Thai, try Phat Kaphrao!
Visited this hidden gem last week for a meal. I have been to multiple Thai restaurant in the GTA, but this one take the crown. The service and the food is amazing you can tell it s authentic Thai cuisine at its best, will definitely be back for more. Thank you for a great and memorable meal.
Ive been to many Thai places in the GTA. Maybe 10 different locations or more. The food is very good here. The chicken pad see ew is solid. Their mango salad is one of the best Ive had. Their Thai iced is in hands down the best Ive had. The owner Joe is very welcoming and friendly. Ive eaten here several times and will be a regular customer. Very thankful for this place and Im excited to try other dishes.
The staff were so friendly and considerate. We ordered a Thai iced tea, massaman curry, and Thai fried rice. The curry was super creamy and the potatoes were perfectly soft. The fried rice was spicy with lots of tofu pieces. There is just enough seating for maybe four patrons - it s mostly a takeout spot - but I m glad we got to dine in. It was a good vibe.
Best Thai Food in the area! My faves are the pad see ew, phat kaprao, and cashew wings! Flavors are genuine, unlike those fake thai places with watered down taste. Always satisfied and will keep coming back for more!
One of the best thai place in gta
2022 April 4.5 Located on a busy street, there isnt much foot traffic in the evening, so you might miss this restaurant. This is a small restaurant serving Thai foods that will impress you for the most part. Your here because they serve a variety of unique Thai appetizers and dishes that you might not find elsewhere in the city. The store frontage is small. There are two bar stools for dine in available, but currently its take out only. Taro Fries 6.95$ Crispy outside and fried perfectly with tenderness inside, this comes in several pieces with a side of a yogurt style dipping sauce. Quite good. Cashew Chicken Wings 11.95$ Deep fried and glazed with a spicy sweet sambal style sauce, though theres supposed to be cashews in it. (There were a few pieces in the box). Good. Chicken Stay 9.95$ Four skewers of marinated grilled chicken with a side of peanut sauce. Ive had significantly better elsewhere, so while this wasnt bad, Id pass in the future. Pad See Ew with Chicken option 14.95$ Stir fried thick rice noodles with Chicken and broccoli with a Thai twist. Theres some other seasonings and its peppery. Theres fresh peppers in the dish. Very good. Would recommend it as well if you havent already tried. Thai iced tea 4.25$ Not bad. Pretty standard of the Thai iced tea if you have had it before. Limited Paid Street parking is available in front. Worth checking out.
Food is always perfect with authentic flavours - when they say spicy, they mean it! A great addition to the neighbourhood that we hope sticks around.
The takeout boxes have gotten HUGE since the last time I was here! Got the Holy Basil, Pad Thai, Red Rubies and Thai iced tea. Always amazing.
Great yummy food !! Must try all their curry s and fried rice.
I ordered takeout from Phat Kaphrao to share with family and friends, and it was a fantastic experience, from ordering to how delicious the food was! I was recommended dishes that were easy to share. I appreciated the honesty and feedback from the owner when our order seemed to be getting out of hand, and we were over ordering (we wanted to try as many items as we can, haha). The portions were great. All the take-out boxes were labeled so it was not a guessing game when we brought home the food. The feedback from everyone that evening was how delicious the food was, and how we cannot wait to order again and try other dishes! Thanks to the team at Phat Kaphrao for a great first experience, and we cannot wait to be back!
Simply the best Thai food in the GTA. Fresh Thai street food that is absolutely delicious.
The food is fantastic and one of the best Thai restaurants I have ever had. The Massaman curry has so much flavor it is insane!!!!!!!
Best Thai food in town! The holy basil is fantastic, I highly recommend!
Great food and friendly staff!! Will come again
Pretty disappointed in my meal considering all the good reviews. I ordered pad thai and panang. The food had authentic ingredients and flavors but could benefit from better cooking time. The noodles, meat and veggies in both dishes were all overcooked.
Love Phat Kaprao. Their panang curry is one of my favourite foods. Love getting takeout from here!
I loved the food!! Highly recommended
Wow - what a hidden gem. This place was outstanding. Authentic Thai food, very delicious and flavorful. We ordered roti and red curry, chicken satays and fries. Everything was made to order - right in front of us. Amazing food aside, the service was top-notch. These guys are sweethearts. Patient, friendly and very accommodating. Highly recommend.
You never know they serve Thai food in this area this hole in the wall but hidden gem ... Three young men doing the cooking. 3 years in the business and they survive one of the biggest obstacles. SUPPORT LOCAL! Alright alright alright ... enough chit chat the Pad Kee Mao = Ugly Delicious tad bit sweet for me could use more heat. Chicken skewers were juicy and tasty with great dipping sauces but could by cook with charcoal grill to replicate Thai Street food. Wait for round 2 with more reviews : )
Joe! Thank you for a delicious meal with familiar flavors and your special touches to elevate the sublime. Didn t realize how much I missed the Aunties cooking! Cant wait to have more khao soi!
Best Thai food I ever had and already one of my favourite places in Toronto. Got the massaman curry and it tasted amazing, creamy texture, tofu was done well, and it looked beautiful too. Portions are generous, particularly given the price, which means more of the brilliant food. We got the mango sticky rice to go as a desert, and again, absolutely brilliant. Get one of their coconut smoothies while youre there. Owner and staff are awesome. They were helpful selecting the right dish (me being vegan and all), answering any questions about the food (where to buy good coconut cream) and just chat a bit. He offered to change dishes to make them vegan, although I recommend you just get one of the curries if youre vegan, cause youll just lose out on flavour if they have to take out fish sauce or shrimp paste. While clearly a take-out restaurant, they were happy to have us eat in. If you like Thai food, you should be getting your food here. If you think you dont like Thai food, this place will change, and blow, your mind!
So happy I stumbled upon this lil hole in the wall!! Ordered a variety of dishes and nothing disappointed! It was almost as if I was transported to Thailand eating on Khao San Road. Highly recommend the khao man gai (steamed chicken on fried rice) dish and the green curry to be had with an order of sticky rice! Mango salad was so fresh and chicken skewers were seasoned and cooked to perfection! I made the mistake of not ordering a Thai iced tea but oh well, I now have an excuse to come back! Note, this is mainly a take out restaurant with very limited seating. If youre looking to kill some time before your order is ready you can walk over to the plaza next door and do some shopping! Otherwise make sure you call ahead for pickup!
Nice people, and food was good. Still very hot after a 15min walk home.
Just picked up my food and wished I checked my bag. Thai fried rice was good but you guys forgot my spring rolls!
Great food, freshly cooked. We sat in on the couple of stools they have - its not really a dine-in, but they indulged us. Tom Yum soup and a curry. So much food we had to take it with us. Staff were wonderful. Will definitely return when we are in the area.
Pad Thai was very sour, didn t have enough nuts, and the meat was chewy.
My soup wasn t a soup at all. It s just noodle with noodle and celery came in huge chunks for 15$.
Amazing food, I will be returning shortly
Absolutely the best in town, bar none. Do not miss out on a community staple. Must try.
The best Thai takeout ever. I went 3 times in the first week I found them. The Khao Soi is amazing and hard to find. I recommend eating at one of their stools for anything crispy like the Taro fries. I also love the coconut smoothie and the Papaya salad. All the curries are fantastic.
We had the red curry and the massaman curry and it was sincerely the most delicious we had ever eaten. Very friendly and fast service, definitely recommended!!! Thank you so much :-)))
I had the massaman curry and it was the best curry I ever had. This place focuses on take-away but we decided to dine in. Very cosy and warm place if you decide to eat there. Strongly recommended and I will be back for sure!!
I got the khao soi and it was reaaaally good, I thought the reviews might ve been overrated but this place is a must try. Also the guys working there are really nice!! Oh and the price point for how much food they give is insane the khao soi was almost 2 meals
I ordered the traditional pad Thai which was very bland. I saw some people mentioning the pad see ew so decided to order this as well. I don t know what it was but something in the dish tasted a lot like anise which I cannot stand. It was an extremely strong taste and I had to throw it away. I also ordered the chicken wings and they were fine, good but not amazing. I was very disappointed with the overall taste of the food. I had high expectations after seeing so many good reviews.
I have eaten at all the top Thai restaurants in the city. Nimmans, Jatujak, Isaan der, Pai, Khao San Road, you name it I tried their food. Without a doubt, Phat Kaphrao food is the best Thai takeout in the city. It is a small spot with an authentic menu that delivers flavourful, delicious food at a reasonable price. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly and will ensure that the food meets your spice tolerance. I would challenge anyone to find better Thai food in Toronto.
Amazing food and staff.
One of my favourite places to get takeout. The flavours are amazing, the portions are great and its decently priced. If I can pick a favourite dish here, I wouldnt be able to answer you because I like most of their menu items.
What a surprisingly delicious visit! We went out of our way to come to this location, as per the reviews and we are so happy we did. Staff instantly welcome you. The restaurant is pleasantly decorated, and the vibes are relaxing and intimate. Chefs cook right in front of you! It is a small restaurant but luckily there is dine in. We absolutely loved the food! We are dying to come back and try the rest of the menu. Vegan options available, and you can essentially make every dish vegan such a good find!!
Great first experience. Decided to try because of all the great reviews, and the food did not disappoint. The Taro fries, massaman curry and holy basil were our favourites but everything was really good. Definitely will come back and order from this awesome little spot again!
Wow. Very impressed with this Thai street food style restaurant. Menu - tried the ginger chicken and phat kaphrao - bold thai flavors, umami rich and with the right amount of heat. We dined-in (they have table for 4) and service was prompt and efficient. For the food and authenticity alone, this restaurant is an easy 5 stars.
Ordered catering for a birthday party from this place and I cant recommend them enough! Joseph took care of setting up my order and helped customize it to my needs, with helpful recommendations along the way. Prices were reasonable and delivery was prompt and friendly. Portion sizes were very generous and my guests loved it. Would not hesitate to order again.
Finally found my fav thai place!!! Their portion is crazy! So much ingredients and flavourful sauces inside is very tiny and order ahead of time bcoz they are so busy. You can sit down and eat but only 4 seats and gets crowded during busy hours.
Crazy delicious!! Great modern Thai flavors and quality ingredients. I will absolutely return.
Not authentic at all. Pad Thai has broccoli in it? Also just tastes like tamarind. Should have fish sauce. All food not following the thai principals of salty, sweet, sour food. Curry ok. Tom Yum ok. Chicken satay was good. We ordered on Uber and they forgot our rice. Overall just ok.
Mr. Joe and the team are making a great job! The food has an authentic flavour! You can see that they make with attention on the details! I had a few different plates and always a good and new experience!
Best Thai takeout place Ive been to! I loved the Massaman curry, Pad Thai, coconut smoothie and mango sticky rice! Easily one of my go-to Thai restaurants. Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian and vegan options to choose from!
Cocunut milkshake was perfectly balanced. Pad Thai was flavorful.
Delicious, authentic Thai food
The food was pretty good. I gave 4 stars because I said no cilantro and they still added it on my food.
One of the best Thai in town!!
A very small takeout joint but the flavours of their dishes are super authentic. The team is friendly and attentive when you pick up the food. Had their pad see ew and pineapple fried rice. It was the best I ever tasted! Def recommend and will be back.
What a hidden gem! We were in the area and searched for best food nearby and found this place. Ordered a pad Thai, Thai fried rice, fried tofu, garlic chicken wings, Tom yum soup and mango sticky rice (wanted to try everything!). Tofu was flavourful, rice was perfectly cooked, pad thai had perfect balance of sourness and sweetness. Would 100% recommend and definitely visit again. Delicious
Had the pad thai and tried the taro fries based on another review. Wasnt a big fan of the taro fries and the pad thai wasnt anything special.....its definitely no Khao San Road. I wont be coming back.
Amazing food and amazing ownership. The employees are always incredibly friendly, and you cannot go wrong with any menu item. The best local spot for sure!
I m 6 months pregnant and if the heartburn from this meal takes me out it will be 100000000% worth it. We ordered the Tom Yum soup, garlic chicken wings, mango salad, Pad Thai and the Holy Basil (beef) with coconut rice. My tastebuds were dancing through every dish. Phenomenal.
Taste was amazing! Service was amazing! I definitely will come back here. Delicious!
Hands-down the best Thai food Ive had in Toronto.
