Follow @bredgyeats for more food reviews and posts! The casual ambience certainly brings me a sense of nostalgia, on top of the bowl of Bun Cha Ca featuring a light tomato-based broth with a thicker rice noodle that has more chew than traditional pho noodles. The standouts are the fried fish cakes, bouncy and fragrant with dill, adding a delightful texture and bite of umami. The beef in betel leaf, salmon filet, a generous portion of fresh dill, elephant ear stalk, tomatoes, water celery, cilantro, scallions and fried onions create a symphony of flavours and aromas. If that isn't enough, you can customize each bite with a side of bean sprouts, lettuce, banana blossom, chilis, cabbage and lime. Their sticky rice dumplings are a layered experience, first the glutinous sticky rice, with a layer of mochi underneath, encompassing a fragrant filling of mung beans and minced pork seasoned with some black pepper.
Strange to be sitting in a shop among piles of imported goods, but heard good things about the soups so we came to try the cha ca, bun mam, and banh cuon. All were very flavorful and delicious. Banh cuon rolls are very smooth. They served pandan tea which was nice. The ladies working there were very welcoming and kind, though a bit overwhelmed by many people coming in and out. I'm surprised there were a lot of people buying stuff because I found a lot of items to be very expensive. The food was not expensive though. I would come back for the cha ca and banh cuon.
Service is amazing but no one there spoke english 😭 Good thing I went with someone that spoke vietnamese. The food is made fresh & you can taste the quality!!
I saw a tiktok of this restaurant and definitely had to check it out myself, The shop itself sells plenty of dried Viet goods that you rarely find elsewhere. There is a selective menu but Thuy Restaurant is known for their Bun Cha Ca, it was so homey and warming, it was so good!! Also got their shrimp fried rice, and fresh sugar cane juice. We were served and waited on by Thuy herself, she is so sweet and truly humble about her food Can't wait to try the rest of the menu
Food is really good, I had Banh Xeo and I like how they made Cane Sugar Juice, It was not really sweet. In some place, they make real sweet Cane Sugar Juice Bun Mam is not my fan but I tried it, it is fresh and sweet soup
Great selection of Vietnamese dry goods. You basically can find everything from Vietnam here. Different kind of my favourite snack: banh trang and dried squid. I bought tons of it. Price is fair and acceptable. The owner is very nice and friendly. Sugarcane juice is super fresh, sweet and good! Definitely recommend and will come back
Great selection of Vietnamese dry goods. Avenge price, spicy beef jerky. The owner is very nice and friendly. Honestly they have everything from back home here. Will come back.
This is the best bun cha ca I have ever tasted! Please try it if you are a fan. This place is not the cleanest and nicest looking place but the fish soup here is amazing. Also if you are a fan of Banh Xeo - Vietnamese pancake it is also very good here. Comes with a fresh plate of herbs.
Always a 5/5 for service and for the Bun Cha Ca!!
Good meal, quality and there are a lot of dry groceries from Vietnam!
Great place for a hot bowl of noodles. The fish cake is the best hands down.
My go-to place for Vietnamese snacks.
Good place for vietnamese food
The place is quite small. However, the food is great, owner is supper friendly. They also selling a sea of Vietnamese snack which s cost me a lot whenever I coming.
Good service and good price. Food very delicious
You can buy all kind of Vietnamese stuffs and food here. Some is kinda old so make sure you check the date before buy them.
Delicious. Food and experience is as authentic as it can get.
One of the best Bún cá in GTA area
Small but incredibly well executed menu of dishes. We always get one of each and have plenty to take home. Lots of groceries and dry goods to choose from as well. The space could use some cleaning but business has been challenging with covid and traffic construction, so its just the mom and daughter running the place.
Best banh mi in Etobicoke!
Authentic food
Needs a proper menu with prices
Needs some cleaning
Variety vietnamese foods
Lots of stuff with decent price. Bun cha ca is one of my favorite dish and avocado juice is my favorite drink as well...We come back every weekend to buy Banh tet Highly recommend
Different tyes of Vietnamese noodles soups. Reasonable prices

Always top knots food. Lots of varieties. Yum yum blem blem food. My kind. Love.
Loved this place and will come back. Reminds me of Vietnam! Bun cha ca is delicious.
I like to come here BUN CA HA NOI Avery delicious
very clean food very good
Good food. Nice owner
Good place for Fish Cake. Also can buy some Vietnamese snacks like scorched rice and balut
Even during the covid lockdown, the restaurant still accepts the order and picks up food. I really like this bun mam. Really delicious. The shopkeeper is very friendly. Inside the restaurant, there are also many eye-catching and attractive dry foods that I could not stop buying a lot. A restaurant worth a try.
The Bun Cha Ca here full of MSG and not clean when they make the food. They use the same rag/towel to wipe everything (cross contamination). Do not eat here or buy anything here unless you want to get food poisoning, want super slow service, ugly interior and like to waste time chit chatting with the lady owner/cashier who works there with a North Vietnanese/Bac Ky accent. Would NOT come back or buy anything here again (take out or pick up). The lady who owns this place and is the seller/cashier chit chat way too much, super slow bad service and waste people time. I went in to buy eggs and told her clearly what I want to buy & pay quickly as I have my baby and mom waiting in the car in the freezing cold temperature today. She keep chit chatting, try to sell other items to everyone that is inside (up selling) and wasting everyone time. I had to tell her to hurry up, say no many times to her upselling and tell her to give me the eggs that I bought since she took my $$ already. It took her 15-20 minutes to give me my eggs since she keeps chit chatting with another customer & wasting everyones time. I have never had such super slow & bad service from a small Vietnamese shop with lousy and noisy owners/workers inside. She told me to come back next time for Bun Cha Ca. No thanks. Never coming back again! I dont want to my meal to be full of MSG, get food poisoning, and have my baby to get sick waiting outside too long in the car again when I do any pick up or take out!! Never come back again ever!! The Pho Dau Bo next door give way better service, super fast for pick up orders & super efficient (no chit chatting & wasting people time).
Good
Came here to try the Bun Cha Ca on recommendation from family. We shared a meal with some locals from Northern Vietnam who raved about this place. It had been a while since I had this soup and it did not fail to deliver. The Bun Cha Ca was enormous and generously filled with fish cake and a beautiful peice fried salmon. So flavourful and full of fragrant dill and water celery. Really enjoyed the soup and the service was great. They also made some fresh sugar cane juice and carried alot of other Vietnamese preserved foods and specialties. Would recommend and return to eat again.
The owner is super friendly. Always asking me if I want to buy 1 pound of bun cuon (rice roll). The decor is not the greatest, it definitely needs an upgrade. There is a very distinct smell when you walk in. Not a fan of the smell. However, this place has the BEST Bun Mam (fermented anchovy soup) in town!!!! Their durian milkshake & sugar cane juice is pretty okay. Overall, this place is alright.
Dirty restaurant, tables weren t clean. Food poisoning after eating there. Unprofessional staff.
Really good bun cha ca . Noodles with fish
The soup and bun xeo!!
Best bun cha ca in the city. Delicious banh cuon and fish cake. Fresh sugar cane juice. Run by friendly, hard-working women who take pride in their food. Worth going out of your way.
Best bun cha ca hands down!!!!!!!
Good food but house keeping needs more work. After all this is a restaurant
Was fantastic the first few times I went to this restaurant, but quality seems to have gradually gone down since. The interior is not the most pleasing to look at, and the tables and chairs seem rather standard. The tv is not too big, and you may have to sit closer to it to admire whatever happens to be playing. The staff are very friendly. The food itself can be an issue; during my first few visits, the food was superb. In the next few, the quality was not so great; food was not as hot and the amount of tofu and other things lessened. More recently, the food made my friend and I sick and I do not expect to come back here.
