1552 Jane St, North York, ON M9N 2R5, Canada
Down-to-earth restaurant dishing up traditional Nigerian cuisine such as pounded yam & goat meat.
I don’t know why business owners will bring there dirty Nigerian character over here, walked into this restaurant and asked if they could suggest a good meal for me as it was my first time there and this lady said to me “that’s the menu over there, you can look at it” For christs sakes! What would it take you to please give a honest opinion on what a first timer can try out!!!
This portion is not worth the amount we pay. It’s not even up to 1/3rd of the plate. Please endeavour to give your customers their money’s worth, else we might as well go somewhere else.
I went here with My colleagues for lunch. Amazing food, so welcoming and hospitable. Will definitely come back!
I took a quick trip to Oyato African food market to bulk up on African black soap, on my way out I seen ola there door advertised fresh restaurant and catered food. I went in and was greeted by two sweet elders aunty & auncle and they gently gave me the menu I seen all the great tasty fire dishes but I had to keep it humble with my diabetes. So I just ordered the cheapest thing on the menu mashed beans 🫘. They looked at me like that’s it! I laughed like “yeah I have my green banana at home to Dip” ! They were like okay I waited no more than 10 minutes cause it’s a pretty simple dish.some nice west African gospel was playing on the flatscreen I would say I got a nice homey vibes were your welcomed to eat ! And that’s what I love comfortable and calm I kindly asked the chef if she could add a water and ginger ale to my meal. And it came up to $15.00 they only had visa debit at the moment not credit card.Id say it’s worth the price I even had left overs for a day which I liked cause it tasted alot better. I recommend sitting in if you’re used to traditional settings and need a good quick tasty meal or ordering take out or delivery.
The food here brings me back to going over to an uncle or aunts place in traditional Yoruba Nigeria. I have flashbacks of #Abeokuta whenever I smell or taste the food. No matter how big boy you think you are your portions will not change. I asked them to mix Okro and egusi for me, they told me that’s not how we do things🤣🤣😳I’m a Yoruba boy ooo, lived in Okota, so when iGbo people show me that way, it entered sha. All in all, this is one of the original go to spots in the city for traditional Yoruba Eats.
The worst... I don't even know how the food tastes because when I got there, the man sitting there (whom I thought was a customer) was extremely rude! I placed my order before coming with some lady on the phone, she was very pleasent. When I got there and the lady must have not relayed the message to him. He seemed upset. I walked out no poi t. I get it we African and we can come of harsh at times. But when people are spending their hard earned money with you, especially since food is like a mortgage, please be nice!!!!
Highly disappointing! From the customers service, or should I say lack there of. To the extremely small portion of food provided. I ordered from them of the first time tonight and received a container 1/4 full with 1 small piece of beef and 1 large bone, no meat on it. When I had called to confirm this was the correct order I received a irate and very disrespectful answer. I ordered this for my husband, but was too embarrassed to serve it to him as it was barely enough for an appetizer. I would not recommend this restaurant unless ur willing to pay an outstanding amount of money for a snack.
This is one of the original nigerian restaurants in Toronto. Good quantity for the amount you pay for the jollof rice. Their pounded yam and egusi is good too. There are seats available if you wanna dine in but will recommend take out!
Very unfriendly and condescending to customers
Nice
100 percent number 1 place for African delicacies...
I ordered Okro for someone in addition to other things and he got only soup I thought they should have informed me if they didn t have instead of giving me something different.
This portion is not worth the amount we pay. Way over priced. . Please endeavour to give your customers their money s worth, else we might as well go somewhere else Food : 3/5
Tasty food
They make really good meals. It feels like home
I wanted to try this place but too much bad reviews damn!!
I drove across country line to go eat at this restaurant but it was a very bad experience. Their customer service was absolutely rubbish. Almost everything on the menu was not available, one of them even insulted me when I asked if they have real pouded yam or Poundo. We managed to eat what was available and when I asked for take away plate to pack my remaining food, the man would rather take the food away from me to go pack inside their kitchen. It was a bad experience. Our people need to do better with their businesses especially dealing with people.
Plantain & beans with assorted beef. Delicious west African cuisine but the price on google is wrong because they never uploaded the price themselves. You can t be wrong with there Nigerian food
Outdated prices on their website and they think it s your duty to cross check prices on Uber , door dash, etc. out of 3 pieces of meat in their assorted, only 1 was soft enough to be eaten. The rest went in the garbage. I tried this place for the first time and never again because nothing worse than getting ambushed with different prices that what you planned for.
You should get 4 stars but you deserve 3 or less, sha manage 3 like that cos that place is tooooooo stuffed, Ill go in there coming out smelling like food. Also after placing your order, I dont advice you eat in there but make sure to ask when it will be ready if not youll wait endlessly thinking your food will be out in a min. But see that jollof is tasty and nice. Very good portion for 25$ or 23$ if not mistaken .
Very good
Good customer service
Worst customer service and you dont get what you pay for. They short change you. Food takes forever and not what you ordered
Poor parking lot, but the service is good.
Driving all the way from Scarborough bad customer service the place its so dirty and disgusting food tastes good but its a small portion i was charged $60 bucks come-on for a small portion of food i will never buy their food again. Take care of your business dont overcharge customers that restaurant its dirty chai
If your looking for real authentic hood Nigerian food this place isn t it . Egusi is somehow and took too long and plantain wasn t even sweet
Whoever picked up the phone to speak to me was rude, you can do better. Thanks
Staff attitude. I stood for almost 5 minutes before I was attended to, she was busy talking on phone and yelling in her local language
The food was AMAZING and I ordered more
I ordered porridge and its so tasteless, this is my 2nd time ordering food here, the stew taste like its only tomatoes and its even expensive for that type of food. Cant order here again.
This is not a good place to eat. Food taste was extremely poor and the stew so small. The whole place stinks. I wish I had read other peoples review before coming here. The whole restaurant needs a total overhaul, a lot of cleaning up and better ambiance.
Very good quality food and nice owners
Efficient service by the staff.
Honestly wish I could find 0 star!! I ate it out of courtesy. Ambience-0; customer service-0, air very stale; I mean it doesn t really matter if you dine in or out- they have a market online. My sons rated them 2/10. Cutlery was handled with hands- poor hygiene. I am nigerian and honestly hoped there should have been a bit of finesse in the service, food delivery and ambience. Anyway- won t be going back there. I should have read reviews before going in. Advice: restaurant needs an overhaul.
Pricy!
Love this place. Amazing food. Amazing Owners.
Customer service was horrible. The cashier was rude and disrespectful and i was there for a pick up, i can only imagine if i had to dine in......
Omg this is the worst meal I ve ever had. I ordered Jollof rice and they served J-rice (the ollof was no where to be found) . The ambience and customer service is zero. Meat was undone. Nothing nice about this place.
Good
Trust me Ola continues to dominate Nigerian food in this North York. Jollof rice is grainy, less oily and beef amazing.. You wont be dissapinted
WOW! The most delicious egusi soup (I got all beef), pounded yam, and fried plantain. Will definitely order from here again. Hot and fresh.
Good food
The food was bad and expensive. Never again.
Food portions is too small.
Nice Nigerian dishes
This is a goto place for every Nigerian food lovers hoping to get the nostalgic taste of the Yoruba tribe best delicacies. #chefskiss
Well made and delicious food.I am grateful to the management and staff for their service.
The food is delicious. We use them as our primary source for food when hosting parties.
too dirty
The best!
Great African Restaurant with an amazing taste of food
Delicious tasty meals with Nigerian (Yorùbá) dishes.
Clean delicious African cuisine
The best jollof rice in town and the best stews to go along with your swallow of choice. I love the owner, she is so kind and delivers to perfection. They cater as well, so they are a full service restaurant. Highly recommend!
Highly rated. 5star.
Tasty African food.
Waitresses are great and very nice. But the man in the kitchen who brought us our food and took payment tried scamming us by lying about the price of the food, and then purposely not giving the right change back. Not a good way to treat people new to Nigerian culture and food. Ive been to similar restaurants in the area with much better honesty and customer service.
Sumptuous food
I bought some african food from this restaurant on, March 22, 2020. I am not African but I have eaten Africsn food before and love it. The food was so tasty. The plaintains was the way I like them. The one thing negative is, the portion is too small. I will order from them again.
Great african place to eat food is tasty
Great service.
Very clean and respectable with good Customers Services
Delightful!
The best vegetable soups in canada
The best nigerian food Ive ever had.
Fantastic food! WOW wife and kid loved the rice, beef, fish, greens and plantain. Authentic and Delish, hidden gem!! Thank you!!!
Family restaurant, great food.
I love this place but very had to deal with them when you order food from them. They asked to return eba so they can sell it to someone else how sick... please don t order something that has plantain in it worst plantain ever.do something or take out the plantain from the menu
Food tasted good. Service was bad. And portion of efo riro was small.
Yummy in my tummy delicious and fast service. U will like your fingers when u done

Nice and well prepared
Love this place. Large portions and The food is excellent and consistent. They might not Offer the most friendly service in the traditional sense but the owners are lovely people and never rude.
Dirty place and poor customer service
Not a lot of choice on there menu !
Fantastic service
Great and authentic Nigerian food with very kind people
Alright service
Very good place to visit.
Authentic Nigerian Dishes. I needed a place to eat amala on a sunday and this was the best sunday lunch ever in a Nigerian restaurant.
Lovely food
Tasty
Good food. But only accepts cash for large orders. Weird
Delicious meal.. decent .. friendly and nice not rude ... but their service is not so Professional hence 4 star
Great food.. my belly is full and happy
Delicious food, neat, tasty.
Great customer service and food. Highly recommend it to anyone.
Food is good!
Best Africa restaurant so far in Toronto
the food is legit but they dont sell meat
Okay for me a little too too spicy but if you like spicy it a place to check out
Drove there to pick up an order. She tells me upon arriving that the interac machine does not work and Ill need to go to the bank to get cash. It wouldve been nice if I was told this information before driving past how many banks to get there. Then I come back again with the cash to pick up my order, she then says there is a deposit on the cooler of $75... okay that makes sense but why didnt you tell me this information the first time before I went to the bank? So frustrating. She eventually says she will let me have it but I must bring it back ASAP. I suggested Monday (as this was a Sunday). She then says she isnt open on Monday. Ugh. So then we agreed upon Tuesday. Bottom line... Food was good BUT I will not be ordering from here again. If you arent Yoruba or you dont speak Yoruba then good luck
Nice and friendly Nigerian restaurant hot, fresh and quick service from the moment you step through the door.
The food is so amazing, I can drive from Vancouver just for that egusi soup but the waiters are rude and need to be educated on how to run a proper fast food business
Home of Nigerian cuisines in Toronto, home away from home. The efo riro was on point. You can quote me on this.
D best
Great African food but not an excellent sight
Great Nigerian food! Interior decor needs to be significantly upgraded
The ayamase and the yam porridge is good,gv it a try
Great food and service

Great food tastes lovely
Because of delicious Africa food
A taste of home!! Excellent
Great tasting food
Great Nigerian Meals
Great food and warm customer service
Great food...not really good customer service experience. Very loud (Typical Nigerian restaurant)...but the food is amazing! Go for just the food, not the customer service.
Naija Jollf is bae
Great tasting food, helpful staff and a convenient location. Private parties and banquets are held on the lower level. Free parking in the back, ttc buses 35 & 195 both stop a few minutes walking distance away. Relaxed and enjoyable experience!
The best in Toronto among other restaurants. It was a great experience for me !
Good food
Food is expensive but tastes good. Major issue is that the place is extremely dirty and unkept. Needs serious work
Good place for tasty African cuisine. A bit dirty and needs work
Their food is nice, but the restaurant needs an upgrade and they need to keep their AC on during summer
Great
Service can be better. Came across as sloppy from a service point of view.
One of the best African restaurants
Great Nigerian food......
The lady was so nice. I went without cash, she let me eat first before showing me where i can use my ATM card to access cash. She also packed my to go without payment. I was so impressed with her gesture and kindness. I was able to get cash and make payment
Nigerian Restaurant. Good for those looking for something different and tasty. Cash only.
Service is really friendly and food is Great.
