2460 Neyagawa Blvd #1, Oakville, ON L6H 7P4, Canada
Airy restaurant serving typical Chinese dishes with vegetarian options, plus live entertainment.
Nice to have the restaurant still there after 10 years. Its nice decorated in Chinese traditional way restaurant, waiters and waitress dress in traditional Chinese clothing, smile and nice. Both Peking duck and Orange ducks taste nice it was before, dishes on menu is less than before, but still taste good with acceptable price, but would be expensive if you order lobster. Fried rice and noodles, esp those with seafood are delicious, fortune cookies serviced.
It's a cheap Asian scam. They have a "policy" that each person MUST order at least 25$ (or something close to that). It was the two of us and we usually order one food and share. The food we ordered was about 21$ and we didn't know about this "policy" so the server pointed it out to us. I told him that I'll happily make sure that once we get the bill, I'll make sure to tip them enough to get to minimum 25$ but he didn't accept and said no, it's our "policy" that each person must order at least the minimum amount. Then we looked at other items in the menu and quickly realized how their scam works. Each other food item that we wanted to add would get the price higher than their minimum and so this is their way of making money to force people to order food. The workers were at the age of retirement. We thanked them and left the restaurant. The only positive thing we observed in our few minutes there was the decoration that seemed nice.
The BEST. Cantonese noodles and black pepper beef I’ve ever had. I’m from out of country, and still thinking about this delicious dinner
Good Chinese food which appeals to the Indian palate. They also check on preferred spice levels. We have visited and ordered multiple times and the dishes are quite consistently good.
My family and I have been here multiple times, twice being for my birthday, and the food and service are always beyond excellent. Jacky is a wonderful host, as are the others in this full serve fine dining restaurant. The spicy crispy tofu, sweet and sour pork, chicken fried rice, and Shanghai noodles are my favourite dishes as they are cooked to perfection and authentic in flavour. Definitely recommend coming here for a celebration or just a nice dinner, it will not disappoint if you love good Chinese food.
This was truly an experience. I loved everything. I would could back for every meal if I could. The service was amazing. We came for mother's day. Without a reservation and we were able to get a table in less then 30 minutes. Then we were seated, everyone is wearing traditional Chinese clothing, it's gorgeous. We had a server named Stella. She was so helpful and kind. Very attentive and was also willing and able to help us with any questions we had. The drinks were delicious and the food was truly mind blowing! I cannot begin to express the flavor that all the food had. My compliments to the chef. This restaurant is completely underated and deserves 100000 stars. We ate family style and got a turntable. It was very nice. We also got dessert, it was nice and I highly recommend the deep fried crème brûlée. The presentation is wonderful. Thank you Stella for the amazing service! I got wonton soup (number 19) 10/10 Sizzling Peking pork (number 62) 10/10 Sizzling black peper beef (number 55) 8/10 it was so tender just not my favorite Spicy Squid (number 86) 10/10 Beef flat noodles (number 115) 7/10 House special fried rice (number 102) 9/10
We went to this place for lunch and found the decor really admirable with an antique vibe. The staff are all attired in traditional costume. The place is clean and the table is formally set. We ordered the two course Peking Duck. They sounded the gong when the Peking duck came out in an antique looking cart. The server then starts carefully slicing the crispy skin. For our first course of the peking duck - the hoisin sauce is spread in a thin pancake then one adds the julienned spring onions and cucumber then the thinly slice crispy skin is added before rolling the pancake. Our choice for the second course was to have the shredded duck meat with fried rice. The Peking Duck was so mouth watering delicious. It has a savoury sweet flavour. It was a good size and enough for four people. We also ordered the sweet and sour boneless pork and mixed vegetables. All the food was flavourful and delicious. Customer service was excellent. Update July 2022: We arrived 5 minutes early at this place but seeing the sign that says open decided to go in. The restaurant do not have a record of our online reservation, the host/manager did not give us a warm greeting, was not welcoming and seems unprepared to see early customers like us and keeps repeating that the kitchen is not yet ready. This dampened our supposed to be a nice day out but fortunately things got better when we had Stella as our server. She was amazing and has a good sense of humour. It is a delight to have someone who enjoys what she is doing and gives positive energy. She has excellent people skills. Aside from our favourite Peking Duck, we also ordered Seafood Hot and Sour Soup, Pork and Vegetable Spring Rolls, Buddha Delight (Mixed Chinese Vegetables and Assorted Mushrooms) and Crispy O.K. Beef. As always food was excellent, so enjoyable and so tasteful.
If I could rate this restaurant 6 stars, I would. Upon parking, you will notice beautiful decor on the exterior of the restaurant. Automatic doors welcome you into an impressive decorated interior in theme with traditional Chinese restaurants. The host has amazing customer service as do the rest of the waiting staff. We ordered Peking duck, a red wine bottle, and two Jasmine teas to finish. They paired perfectly well. Larry carved our duck and did a wonderful job, he also demonstrated how to prepare the first course. We had plenty of leftovers to take home afterwards. On a side note, we saw the staff sing happy birthday in Cantonese/Mandarin to an elderly woman and it definitely made her day. We can't wait to return. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience. Update: we came here in October 2022 for my surprise birthday and it was unbelievably splendid. Such attentive staff with great humor and lovely presentation touches to our food. They even packed some extra supplies to accompany the Peking duck leftovers. Thank you so much for a wonderful birthday!
Always friendly, decor lovely, costume lend to almosphere: not your run of the mill chinese. Food delicious. Staff very friendly & Winnie is a great laugh. They make us feel special.
This was our first time at Cyntia s. The food was very authentic and delicious. Service was top notch. Tina our waitress went above and beyond to make our first visit a memorable experience. We will definitely return.
Let me start with this, it was one of the best Chienese Fine Dining places I have been in a while. We traveled 78kns just to go eat there. Beautiful ambiance, with colorful lights outside and inside. Beautiful decor. Even more beautiful were the server uniforms. It was so colorful and so elegant. Very, very warm serves as well. We had nice cocktails, followed by appetizers and then the main course. Everything was stylish and, at the same time, very flavorful. We did not ask for any soya sauce or hot sauce or any other sauce. The food itself was very flavorful. Thank you, Jackie, for your hospitality and singing happy birthday in Chienese. Great place to be. Will be back soon. Recommend everyone to go if you love Chienese Fine Dining. We were back here tonight. Had a great evening. Thank you, Jacky, and the team for making our evening so special with ur warmth and excellent service. 5* service and 5* food. We had Spicy Eggplant, deep fried tofu, Shanghai noodles, shezwan chk, sweet and sour pork, and chk fried rice. Everything burst with flavor. This is just a different kind of chienese fine cusine. The Eggplant was the highlight of the evening. In the cocktails, the black Russian was the highlight. All the other cocktails were great as well (very well priced, too). If u r a chienese food lover, you should ho and eat here. Thank you once again, Jacky, for going the extra mile to make our evening special. Every time we eat there, we just love it. The ambiance, the music, the smiling servers, and most importantly, the yummy food. Must go place.
Great food, welcoming people, enjoyable atomsp here
All appearance, high cost for poor quality food.
Friendly, clean, perfect classical Chinese food. Highly recommended.
Weve had several good meals here in the past but ate here this past Friday and everyone in my family got sick afterwards with some kind of food poisoning. Very disappointing because we like the restaurant but this was a bad experience this time.
Today I ordered picking duck and Winnie pick the phone to take my order. She said 30 min so I wait 45 min instead, when I arrived they said I didn t order picking duck. I live right across from this location and is regular, she continue to argue with me that I didn t order, so I told her call the other two location and if they said no you didn t order then you will know if I call or not. She straight out ly to her teeth knowing she did wrong but choose to lie. She was arguing with someone on the phone as well and was not service type. You will see not gentle but aggressive. I mean if you don t like your job or cannot keep up order then quit the manager want to give me good price and she put her mouth in like thinking Iam not Chinese and said don t give her discount because she didn t call when I am the customer and know I call and even went to bank to take cash as I know there discount for cash, any way Winnie should not work there and be fire as she not fit for the job! There no female will get along with her with the way she act, talk and behaviour. I still end up paying $85 for the combo and she said he gave you a discount already as if I want free food but rather my time wasted.make sure bring your proof next time so she see your phone if you call as she claim I have to show me my phone to show her I called. When no two other location have Took my call.
Always a fun time and delicious food. They make your birthday a great experience.
Went with a group of ten women for lunch. The large round table with the central lazy susan was very conducive to conversation. Price fix lunch menus were great values, with lots of choices. Fist server was a bit abrupt and not particularly friendly, but the server who finished the meal and payments was friendly, efficient and a delight.
Excellent space to have my Dads 82nd birthday! Lovely servers and lovely atmosphere, they even sang him happy birthday! Would come back 10/10
Food was so bland and tasteless . I couldn t eat the food at all. If I could rate it 0 stars I would. And it wasn t cheap . I won t recommend to anyone
Food was bland . tasteless and expensive!! Overall it wasnt a good experience and it ruined my mood. paid over $200 for a meals we couldnt eat. im sure i can do something much better in my kitchen but i came out for a nice evening and it tirned out bad
We went to Cynthia s for the first time this month. The primary draw was they serve Peking duck and it s close to Burlington. To say we were overwhelmed with the incredible service, friendly staff, beautiful atmosphere and phenomenal food would be an understatement. The lemon chicken was unbelievable too! Thank you Cynthia s we will definitely come back
Best Peking duck and lettuce wraps in the gta!! Will definitely be going back!
Food was bad. And bad doesnt do justice to bad word. Really bad smell. They spent a lot on place decor plz spend some on chef hiring. Terrible food. Good service for a bad food bad smelly ewwww yucky food. If I could give 0 for food I would. I couldnt even keep spoon in my mouth bad foul smell. Not fresh I can tell I eat all the time. Good looking place though but terrible food
Everything was excellent. Appreciated the gluten free options Dietary restrictions: Gluten free Food : 5/5 |
Great Chinese food and great staff. The atmosphere also adds to the experience. Lots of gluten-free options also. Never disappoints.
I have been to Cynthia Paradise in Newmarket and had a very good impression. I thought this place had become Westernized, so I never went there. Only recently did I realize that Chinese food is actually very authentic. Its a little more expensive, but it tastes really good. I ordered takeout of stir-fried beef river ($18) and X.O beef pot ($25), and got 10% off with cash.
1st time ordering take out based on reviews dinner for 2 disappointed in quality will not patronize again
Great food and great service
It was one in the best chinese foods Ive had and perfect for celebrating a birthday. They sing the song and give you a cake with a candle.
Great Gluten Free food. Friendly staff.
Truly amazing service And my go to spot for Peking duck in Oakville! Food
Good food and great services with authentic Chinese food.
This is the best Chinese weve had since living in Canada. Weve tried so many local Chinese takeaways and been super disappointed with them. Its pricey but absolutely worth it. Loved the decor inside, great atmosphere and service. Will be returning again and again. Cant believe its taken us 3.5 years to find this gem.
The pork dumplings were soooo bad, didnt taste fresh at all. Spring rolls also bland. We specifically asked if its store bought. The waiter assured it wasnt and was freshly made. Not surprised, it was bad. Noodles and chicken were unfortunately not worth the price. Sadly, you pay for the ambience and not for the food. Whats the point right?
What an amazing experience! Best restaurant food I ve had in a while. Service was great - attentive but not pushy. The food was incredible! We will be back!
We went to Cynthias Chinese Restaurant in Oakville for the first time. We were greeted warmly at the entrance and were shown to a table chosen by us. The service was attentive and beyond reproach. It is a little pricey but worth every penny. We ordered the dinner for two that included king prawns. It was delicious. The portion of each item was so large that our leftovers will be dinner tomorrow. We strongly recommend this restaurant.
I have been a number of times, most recently to celebrate my birthday and my brothers birthday. My brother did not expect the cake and great music as I surprised him. The other diners joined in with singing and clapping. It was the best night in all respects. Great restaurant and great service. Thank you for a memorable evening.
We went to Cynthias because it was convenient for an event we had to go to. When you have celiac disease dining options are very limited. Overall we were very impressed. The service was impeccable, the atmosphere beautiful, and the food was delicious! Many of the other reviews mention that the food lacks taste.... We found quite the opposite! The food was flavorful and perfectly balanced. What we did notice was that it was not as salty as other Chinese places, for which we are very grateful. Cynthias is now on my list of must eat places in the Burlington/ Oakville area! Vegetarian options: Many great vegetarian options! Dietary restrictions: The menu is clearly marked with gluten-free items. The gluten-free fried items are cooked in a separate fryer making them safe for people with celiac disease. As a very sensitive celiac I ate safely and would definitely return.
Hot & sour seafood soup, seafood basket, lemon chicken had a glass of wine each. Portions are ample, a little overpriced but would highly recommend Dietary restrictions: Has plenty of gluten free options
Nice place!
I don t know why it took me 25 years to try this place but I m glad I finally did. I enjoyed it and will try to explore more of the menu on my next visit.
The amount of onions in a $20 garlic chicken is insane! Same with Szechuan chicken.
Best Chinese food in the area. Fun to dine in and is amazing for take out. Definitely one of our favourite spots. Get a wonton soup and moo shu!!
Quality of food not as good as it used to be. Lemon sauce is now orange and watery. Tastes like chemicals. Chicken batter over cooked and not as light and crispy.
Loved the food, very attentive service, and decor including the traditional costumes worn by the restaurant staff. Unique experience.
Best food, amazing hospitality and service as well as lovely ambiance. Jacky was an amazing server with fantastic memory.
My husband order from this restaurant just now..the biggest disappointmentso far.the fried rice was tasteless almost like it was reheated or old, super sticky and barely any chicken on it,we order chicken balls (which we clarify twice) instead received a breaded chicken super thick that was undercooked and a lo mein that was super greasy with boiled chicken and a super cooked vegetables..I ordered from this restaurant in the past was OK but not great..but this time was so disgusting that I have to write a review(i dont lke to give any negative to anyone)but this time it really ruined for us. Never will order from this restaurant again.the one star is because his egg rolls were fine.the food end up on the garbage
For authentic chinese food, Cynthias is our go to place. Tonight, my wife and I had eggroll and hot and sour soup to start. For our dinner, we had yeung chow fried rice, Indonesian noodles, crispy ok chicken and spicy squid. As always, food was terrific and service was impeccable. Please check it out if youre in the area.
Delicious food! Winnie was very friendly and provided great service!
All time favorite family eating out place for us. Best authentic Chinese food in Oakville. My kids just adore their crispy OK chicken and fried noodles. Most importantly, the quality of food and service has been consistent for 3 years for us.
Cynthias Chinese Restaurant exceeded all expectations! The food was incredibly delicious, with each dish bursting with authentic flavors. The cozy ambiance and attentive staff made for a memorable dining experience. Highly recommend.
I ve always had a good experience with food ordered through takeout from Cynthia, but last evening something was way off. The pork with broccoli was almost inedible. The chicken looked like it was reheated and grey. I hope it was just a bad night in the kitchen.
Favourite Chinese spot outside of Toronto/Markham. Always a go to for our family.
I always enjoy this resturant. Food, service, and surroundings are awesome. The best chinese dishes I have had...especially crispy OK beef.
I was in Oakville and wanted to get some takeout to go so I decided to try this place based on reviews I ordered chicken fried rice and had general Tao chicken suggested to me. First let me say i was parked right opposite place when I place call to order I was told 15 minutes not even two minutes I went in just to pay and was going to wait to my surprise they said your order is ready lol that should have been a red flag for me but whatever I went home and let me say worst general Tao ever chicken was supper dry and chewy like some pieces is like I was chewing plastic I call to complain and the lady kept telling me that we wanted something crispy I laughed and said that my complaint is the chewy chicken and super dry like horrible the food was like it was old and reheated and the lady on the phone was like she didn t even care so I said what are you going to do anyways after going back and forth she like come in and ask for her and she didn t ask for my name nothing. Let me just say I wasn t even planning on returning here to eat if they wanted to give my money back no problem because for 23.95 plus tax for general Tao chicken with no rice I told her I expect so kind of quality which it lacks this place is way overpriced and the portion was small and food tasteless and stale what a waste. Here is a pic of some of the pieces of chicken where I kept chewing but like I said it s like plastic so I would never eat here again
Horrible service. I came in for pickup and politely provided my order name, the manager was rude raised her voice and said she wouldn t give me the food unless I provide the order #. I spent 5 mins looking for it while the only order bag sat there with my name on it. I also asked for no onions in rice and rice has onions. If you enjoy paying to get what you didn t order and being screamed at, this is your spot.
The food was terrible. Ordered ginger beef and it was creamy in a sauce that tasted like a French Onion soup. Fried rice was salty and lacked any flavour. The rice didnt seem fully cooked either with hard bits of rice in it. The wontons were hard and chewy. The ambience inside was very nice and traditional. But the food was absolutely horrendous.
I came here with my father and his girlfriend for dinner. The food was amazingly delicious and the service was superb. Our waitress was very friendly and took care of us with everything we needed. Thank you once again!
First time ordering from this place based on reviews. The rice tasted like it had burnt, the chicken balls had a thick hardly cutable dough on them, food left a horrible after taste. Tasted like something cooked from a day before. Will nor order again sorry.
We ordered delivery tonight and it was the worst Chinese food Ive ever tried. We threw everything out. Weve been going here for 10 years, so very surprising and disappointing.
A very nice atmosphere and different dining experience. A standing ovation to the friendly and helpful staffs.
Feb 2024 Update: Havent been here for so long. Ammmmaaazing service. It was Jackie again. Exemplary service, food and atmosphere. The only chinese restaurant that gives such great experience. Food was good today and Jackie always gives fantastic service!
Great place, Love the service 100% recommended
Excellent food and ambiance! 11 outta 10 recommend you visit soon if you love Chinese food!
We used to love Cynthia but the quality has dropped significantly despite of increased prices. My favourite was beef flat noodle. Last night we got the same but the meat was 50% less than before and the food was salty as hell! So disappointed
Always a wonderful experience! The Peking Duck is amazing.
This was the best Chinese food Ive ever had and let me tell you Ive had my fair share of it in my life. Everything about it was top notch. The quality of the food, the service, the atmosphere. Everything about this place was all on point. Loved everything about it, will be my go to spot from now on
Visited Cynthias day before Xmas 2023 - had some great food here in the past but was disappointed in the portion size on this visit - for $90 you really dont get alot of food - 2 dishes were good and 2 not so good - dont think Ill order take out from here again - maybe dine in would be better - went back to a chinese restaurant I use to frequent for New Years and the portion was massive - no comparison to the amount of food I received from Cynthia - guess Chinese restaurants are not all the same Vegetarian options: Lots of options
The food doesnt match the decor and ambience. It was simply disappointing. Everything was sweet and pricey and greasy. every dish lacked flavor.
Amazing experience as always! My kids, husband and I love the wonderful customer service, the ambiance and delicious food.
Service and atmosphere are nice, but food is sub-par at best and very over priced for what you get. Wont return or recommend.
Not real Yunnan food
One of our favourite restaurants in Oakville. Jackie and the team are always so welcoming.
Hands down some of the best Chinese food I ve had. Service is always friendly, my family has been coming here for years. The spicy squid is a must try
Had a great Sunday lunch, celebrating my mother s birthday. Great food and service. Can not recommend this place enough. Keep up the great work. Thank you for making this special for me and my family.
our family favorite place
Overwhelmed due to New Years Eve, bar staff need to study how to make drinks, Margaritas were slushy and chemical tasting, slush should be optional as should any stray chemicals. Decor is natural theme and cozy. Lots of effort put into serving presentation. Expensive but worth it.
Cynthias Chinese food is amazing. Tastes great, nice restaurant and great service. Overall above average food. I would highly recommend.
Very sophisticated restaurant!
First time here. This place caught my eye because of the beautiful exterior. When I walked in the interior was just as gorgeous and it feels tropical inside! Staff is dressed very traditionally and it gives you the full Chinese/cultural experience The service was top tier and elite. As for the food, I rate it 10/10. Everything was spot on I will be coming here more often from now on
It was a mediocre dining experience with unfriendly staff. The food was okay. Had the lunch special. Will not go again.
Easily the worst Chinese I ve ever ordered. My family and I were on the hunt for a new Chinese restaurant as our go to closed during the pandemic. We spent over $150 and it was awful. Our order: - chicken fried rice - was fine. Not a lot of flavour. - chicken chop suey - slimy and mushy, the noodles were extremely over cooked and very little flavour. - beef and noodles - tasted burnt - beef and mushrooms - too much thickening agent and it was mushy as a result. Usually this is the go to item for my husband and he couldn t eat more than a couple bites. - chicken balls - received 11 (unsure if 12 is the normal number you get) they have way too much breading but otherwise they weren t terrible. - general Tao s chicken - tasted like bbq sauce. Not good. - chicken chow mein - zero flavour - egg rolls - unsure because we never received them. We did not get a single package of soya sauce or any fortune cookies in our takeout bag. Needless to say - I never do reviews like this but I was so disappointed in my experience that I really wanted to share and paint a proper picture for people. This is not the place to go!
Peking duck! No other place for this delicacy!
This was a tough review to write because the chef here obviously knows how to cook, unlike some other Chinese restaurant that cannot even manage to stir-fry vegetables thoroughly. But unfortunately I did not get what I ordered. I ordered (Jing Jiang pork loin slices) which is on their Chinese menu. What I was presented was NOT that. It was pork loin slices, yes, but not Jing Jiang at all. They did present me with some as dipping sauce, but they are supposed to have cooked the dish with it! I am not sure which part of the communication went wrong, because they seemed like they knew what they are doing, but not at the same time??? It is like you went to KFC to get fried chicken, but they served you Costco rotisserie chicken, which is great, but not at all what I ordered? Did they just cook the wrong dish then went oh well, we will still serve it but with the right ingredient as dipping, which is just wrong on so many levels. I went with my family as grandmas 94th birthday so I didnt mention it or take pictures, just ate it as it was and left with so much confusion. I am personally okay if they are modifying the dish to suit the North American taste because it actually tastes not bad. But if its so different from the original dish then just dont call it that! The dish presented was much more similar to than , so that might be what they thought I ordered, BUT that doesnt explain why they gave me the dipping sauce...I am just confused at this point. You will definitely enjoy this restaurant if you are into North American Chinese food, but probably not authentic Chinese food. I havent lost all hope yet and might be visiting again to try their duck, but honestly Foodie North in Mississauga beats them in every way, including price. This is from someone who grew up in mainland China for 15 years.
Cool environment. Nice meal and timely if I say so
Pretty good food. Their noodles and garlic chicken were pretty good.
Ordered food to take out. All good was pretty good. Inside looks very attractive, beautifully decorated, might dine in one of these days.
This restaurant is delicious and very good value. The servers are all dressed up in traditional Chinese garb, the food is excellent freshly fried, vegetables are crunchy and they clearly know how to properly use a wok. (I assume house made?) sauces, portions were ample. The BBQ pork is really worth getting. All of the servers were very pleasant. The decor is lovely. I ve come for a lunch service and a dinner service and both were excellent. Very happy with my experience. Lucky Oakville to have this place!
Excellent service, amazing portion sizes for price, and they accommodated my gluten free needs very well! For anyone with Celiac, you should feel safe eating here. Ill definitely be coming back (: Dietary restrictions: Gluten free/Celiac Disease
Amazing evening last night with friends. The food and service was fantastic. Big thanks to our server, Stella, who made the evening even more delightful. Highly recommend. Food : 5/5 |
Got take out from the restaurant. Ordered the Vegetarian Spring Rolls, Shanghai Thick Noodles and Cantonese Fried Noodles. Spring rolls tasted very weird, unlike any vegetarian ones I have tried before - the filling and taste were both very odd. Both noodles tasted very bland and needed more seasoning. I can say that I am very disappointed with the overall meal - especially coming from Hong Kong and frequenting Chinese restaurants in Richmond Hill and Markham that seem to have a much higher standard. I will not be returning.
The food flavor was acceptable. It was a modified version with more sugar. The food size matches the price. However, the service was zero. The waitress looked not so happy for some reasons. I would not recommend this restaurant.
Great food and really nice people
Wow this place is amazing! The servers wear traditional Chinese clothing and damn is the food good! Ive never had Peking duck this good before! The sauce was perfect and the presentation was incredible. They also offered to make the rolls for us but we wanted to do it ourselves for fun. In all the excitement I forgot to take a picture or video for it but trust me the duck was amazing looking! Crispy skin and not greasy at all. We also got the fried rice and the sizling black pepper beef dish. Do they mean sizling! Took a video of that one and man was it good! All in all this was some of the best Chinese food Ive ever had. I cant recommend it highly enough! Between the food and the traditional dress/decor its a must try! Parking: The parking lot was fairly full but we got lucky and snagged a spot up front
The food is still amazing and the restaurant is very beautifully decorated but service is provided by a bunch of senior servers well passed the retirement age. As such, it feels like you are being served by your short tempered grand parents who yell at your children and get your order wrong and you are too afraid to call them up on that
Simply an amazing experience. We came to Cynthias from out of town, being at a speed skating tournament for the weekend at the nearby arena, and are glad we booked (and that they accommodated our revised reservation times the day-of). The decor is all very authentic and conjures up images of the China of yesteryear, and the food was very fresh and tasty. If were ever in Halton region again well be sure to go...
Im only giving a three as we didnt stay. Why? I felt under dressed and the portions are too big for two people. This is definitely a place to return with friends. I was shocked as the inside is decorated so nice. The staff all in amazing attire. Well be back!
Beautiful place for a family lunch or dinner. The staff are very friendly and really helpful. Not once anyone had to ask if we could get more water. They would just keep refill it before you finish the cup. Very clean and an awesome atmosphere to be in.
Absolutely wonderful from the decor, colourful dress of the staff to the amazing food. Not your typical Chinese food restaurant.
This place was quite a ride. There were two birthdays and an anniversary amongst the visitors, and the staff put on a show for each one. Singing, music, treats for the birthday/anniversary people, and there even was a special birthday hat. The staff is dressed in traditional Chinese clothes. The interior made me feel like I was in China. The food was pretty good. We only tried two dishes, so maybe there is better to be found in the menu. Parking: Big parking that wraps around the strip mall
Good customer service
For the oakville clientele, sure.
The absolute best service, amazing AND quick food, and kindest staff. Spontaneous visit and will certainly be coming back again.
Best Chinese food Ive had in a very long time. Will be back.
Really nice and cozy place. Perfect for family
Amazing food
The fried noodles are good and ambience is nice .. Bet spring rolls are made in the restaurant to try .. recommend for local oakville residents
Delicious food , had a great birthday dinner
Went there for Fathers day dinner, beautiful place with yummy food!
Deceptive pricing towards customers: 1. The lobster was not disclosed as being priced by weight, and during checkout, several hundred dollars!! were charged directly. 2. The roasted duck only had the skin served, without asking if the remaining parts were desired, and then the remaining portions were not provided. 3. The waiter continuously promoted lobsters and similar items that required weighing, without informing the actual weight as they were not listed on the menu.
Encountered the same deceptive practices reported by other customers. Below actions represent a severe breach of trust and customer satisfaction, with clear intent to deceive and manipulate: The lobster was not transparently priced based on weight, resulting in customers being shockingly overcharged during checkout, with amounts reaching several hundred dollars! When ordering the roasted duck, only the skin was served without asking if customers wanted the remaining parts. To make matters worse, the remaining portions were not provided as expected. The waiter continuously pushed for the purchase of lobsters and similar items that required weighing, deliberately concealing the actual weight since it was not listed on the menu.
I had the pleasure of dinning on Fathers day at Cynthias restaurant, I must say, it was an extraordinary experience. From the welcoming service to the delicious food and stunning interior decoration. Throughout the evening, the service was attentive, professional and courteous.
Pretty inside. A bit kich, but charming. If you are on a budget, avoid recommendations, dont get lobster, and keep tabs on the beverages. Staff is super attentive, but be politely assertive about what you want. Ask about market price before agreeing to order such items. Everything we got was perfectly prepared and delicious. Vegetarian options: Vegetable dishes were not overcooked and mushy.... . Veg chop suey was divine. Wheelchair accessibility: Wide automated interior front door. Accessibility controls all worked. Wheelchair friendly washrooms with wide doors and approaches. Ramps from parking lot are good. Close to bus stop.
The decor of this place is awesome. And the food is more awesome. Excellent high-end Chinese fare. More affordable than Mandarin. Attentive staff. Well worth your time. Tell your friends you went. Theyll be Green With Envy!
Classy atmosphere and fine dining Authentic fresh cuisine and the restaurant is beautifully decorated and the staff Always look lovely dressed in their amazing apparel. A nice ambiance. It s a touch pricey but it is worth it. The service is top notch. Parking: Lots of parking close entrance.
Food was amazing! But the old lady was so rude She didn t even say a word When we ve give the check she was counting the money right in front of us like we didn t give enough!!! Food : 5/5
Fantastic food, never disappoints. Usually order take-out but have eaten in a few times and its such a great atmosphere.
We had a lovely dining experience at Cynthia s. Great service from Larry the waiter, very friendly staff and Jessica was very helpful and kind with our large catering order! Nice place to go on a date and very Traditional Chinese decor! We thoroughly enjoyed the delicious food!
Visited twice. A Chinese fine dining. Food Quality is ok, and fine dining price.
Loved the food. Especially the wonton soup. I think they got tired of me always ordering just that.
This was my first time ordering delivery from Cynthias where the food was below standard. Im wondering if theres a new cook on the scene? Usually everythings delicious but this time Im being generous with two stars. The Shanghai chicken and noodle noodle dish had maybe two shrimps and not the freshest chicken, also no flavour whatsoever! Very boring dish and whatever shrimp it did have was undercooked and tasted fishy so it wasnt fresh. The lemon chicken is usually amazing and this time was dry, tasteless batter, and even the lemon sauce wasnt up to the usual standard and had a little taste. Very disappointing!
Wonderful lunch with reasonable prices. The best food weve had thus far! Would highly recommend!
Awesome food. Servers are amazing. They sang happy birthday over the speakers with a microphone in multiple languages, loved it.
By far the best Chinese food in Oakville, took us a couple of months after moving here to find a good takeout, but we have been loyal customers since 2017. We Love Cynthias Food
The food is great and the decor is authentic
First time trying this restaurant and we were not disappointed!
Very delicious food, the atmosphere was awesome. Service could be better, as our server was grumpy and never smiled.
Did not enjoy my latest visit. I was here years ago to join a party hosted by a friend.
Stella our server was amazing, fun and professional
Jessica, Winnie and Steven give great service. Always a great night out.
Lovely decorations, the staff is somewhat friendly however they are very abrupt. The food is delicious, but there was a dead fly in the lemon chicken sauce in my dish. This was very off putting and I don t believe I will come here again as the food was brought to me with the insect in it.
I would really not recommend this place its over rated staff are very rude and they charge 15% per person on top of your bill which they fail to mention until you have eaten your food
I am in shock at how bad this chinese food was. By far the most disgusting flavourless cheap garbage Chinese food I have ever had. I cannot believe this place has been in business for that long charging expensive prices nonetheless and serving this garbage. As soon as I saw the food I knew it was going to be bad but eating it was even worse than it looked. The wonton soups at $6.95 each said they come with bbq pork, the broth was terrible and tasted like they used knorr chicken bouillon cubes to give it chicken flavour, there were a few tiny little cubes of bbq pork in the soup you barely even knew it was there, the chicken fried rice I could tell just from looking at it was horrible and it was. Basically just white rice fried in some vegetable oil with bland chicken, a few green onions and egg and that was it, no other vegetables like carrots or peas which is pretty standard for a chicken fried rice, hardly any sauce or seasoning on the rice, the shanghai noodles looked like the cheap packs of noodles you buy at the grocery store, a bland sauce that was flavourless, a few pieces of pork and shrimp and no other vegetables whatsoever, the sweet and sour pork was fatty chewy pork, no flavour to the sauce and the vegetables may as well have been raw because the person working the wok has no clue what they are doing. This entire meal was absolutely disgusting I almost didn t even want to finish one plate of this cheap garbage chinese food. I am appalled that this place gets away with calling it fine chinese food and charges premium prices and ends up serving the most garbage Chinese food I ve eaten anywhere. This place is an absolute joke. I would expect this quality of garbage Chinese food from those cheap places you see in Scarborough charging $8.95 for an all you can eat lunch buffet but not from here. We were scammed tonight by this place. $70 for some cheap flavourless garbage. Never again! I hope other people don t fall for going to this place and go anywhere else instead. You would be hard pressed to find worse chinese food anywhere than what this place served us tonight. Absolutely disgusting! Ended up throwing all the leftovers out in the garbage because that s where the food this placed served us belongs in the trash! Not even worth eating.
Went to get takeout at our go-to spot for authentic Chinese food. As usual the fried rice was amazing as well as the sour soup! I would definitely give this restaurant a try and give their fried rice, pad Thai and beef w/broccoli a go.
While we were in Oakville we were highly recommended to try out this restaurant, I believe this restaurant also has multiple locations across Ontario and most of the food is on par with each other. The food was delicious, service was alright and the interior was stunning. I would suggest the pork fried rice, lobster with onion and the congee soup as they all tasted amazing. I would definitely come back again
I liked the turntable great idea for large groups. It is a great place to celebrate a birthday.
Best Chinese food in Oakville. full stop.
Spent over $148 and all that was edible was the rice.... Noodles smelled so strange, chicken balls were burnt and dry inside, spring rolls almost had no filling, frozen ones are better. Beef was basically chopped peppers and onions. Dont waste your money here!!!
It was a great experience dining in this restaurant! The foods were delicious and the service was very nice, the setup of the restaurant is super charming. We had a birthday event there and it felt super nice when the waiters were singing the birthday song for us!
Excellent experience - delicious food, great service, and cozy atmosphere.
Wow. 5 stars for lemon chicken that was so crispy and perfect. Lemon sauce on the side? Genius.
This is the best Chinese restaurant I have been to since moving to Canada. Beautiful decor and a wonderful service team. Recommend for solo dining (that what I did) for dates and celebrations.
Great place to celebrate special occasions
Wheelchair accessibility: Good accessibility Food
We have been coming to Cynthias now for a few years and have never been disappointed. The staff are very friendly and attentive. Its hard for us to recommend a certain dish since we havent had a bad one.
Just discover Cynthia s after a friend recommended it. Really happy with the food. The service is also great. Very attentive and busy. Our favourite was the Sizzling Mongolian Beef and Kung Pao.
We ordered the meal for two for take out. The food was good besides finding a piece of plastic in the shui mai, they also forgot the sweet and sour sauce for our chicken balls
Nice I thoroughly enjoyed my time dining at this restaurant. The cuisine was exceptionally delightful, and the service was outstanding. The menu provided a diverse range of choices to suit various palates, and each dish we sampled was a culinary pleasure. The staff was attentive, amiable, and well-informed, contributing to our overall satisfaction. What truly stood out to me was the remarkable value for money; the quality of both the food and service surpassed the modest prices. I look forward to returning soon for another enjoyable meal! and nice food
Disappointment. Looking at the price point, I was expecting above average Chinese food. The food at this restaurant is bland and obviously not fresh. Same type of freezer-to-plate food as other Chinese restaurants but at a much higher price. Save your money and order from a cheaper Chinese restaurant. This place is a rip-off.
Food was very good, not greasy good flavour
The most exquisite Chinese restaurant I ve ever been to, aside from hotels. Really thoughtful service and beautiful interior, and great food. Not cheap food, but worth the price. Will probably return someday :) * dont recommend the lunch combos! Better just order individual dishes from the main menu
Cynthia s Chinese Restaurant endeavors to elevate its dining experience through upscale decor and refined tableware; however, this effort fails to translate into a satisfying culinary journey. The impressive interior design and thoughtful table settings undoubtedly contribute to the dining ambiance but stand in stark contrast to the underwhelming flavors of the dishes. The lack of memorable taste experiences leaves the cuisine feeling ordinary when compared to the dazzling decor. While the pursuit of a high-end dining experience is commendable, [Restaurant Name] needs to invest more in culinary innovation to ensure that patrons leave not only aesthetically pleased but also delighted by the overall dining experience. Ridiculous 3 small bowls of rice cost $12.75. I haven t never seen so expensive rice, it s ridiculous.
A very bad experience. The West Lake Beef Soup was served first. The soup was very salty, so I gave it a bad thumbs up. After waiting for a while, the green pepper stir-fried pork and Shanghainese and green pepper shredded pork dishes were served cold, so I asked the waiter to bring them back to heat them up. The Shanghai cabbage was not washed clean and there was sediment in the cabbage. I asked for it to be returned. Later, I added some beef cubes. The presentation is nice. The fried shredded pork with green pepper is really not good. I don t know how the rating of 4 points or more came about. The dining atmosphere and service are okay.
Good food and service was a bit slow but okay. Love the decoration in the interior. Also a bit $$$ for Chinese food but overall a good experience and I would return if I was in the area.
Take out is a hit and miss
Great place to gather for ladies night out. Not rushed and delicious food
Ask for Stella..very good experience
Friendly, clean and delicious!
The food is great. The staff are very polite and professional and the cost is very reasonable.
Wasn t happy with my initial order but Jackie turned it around. He went over and beyond to make sure myself and my guests left satisfied. Fantastic service and thank you Jackie,
My son sound a Staple in the food, called and the manager Steven s response was we use staples to pack our bag . That was such bad response as the boxes were closed and we took the boxes out after we open the bag and we poured our food from the containers and not the paper bag. Thank God my son didn t swallow the staple!!! He suggested that he will offer something next time I go, I was shocked of him to say that!!! I didn t this answer as I don t think I will go back and if I were he would have offered to prepare a fresh meal or gave a refund. Very poor customer service and was handled very poorly. ****check your food before you eat or give to your kids****
Had a lovely girls night out at Cynthias! The service there and atmosphere is top notch. We all agreed that the vegetables, noodles and chicken and beef dishes were incredibly tasty. We werent overly impressed with the spring rolls, seafood rangoon. They were abit greasy and could do with more filling. But we would still return because overall it was a great dinner!
Wonderful Chinese restaurant! Came here after reading the reviews and it did not disappoint. The food was flavorful and fresh. The servers were polite and attentive. The decor was also very nice. Will be coming back.
Best chinese food ever enjoy
Fist time ordering dinner from here. Good quality general tos chicken. Definitely will be ordering again.
Got take out - the flavour is mediocre at best. For the prices, I was expecting to be blown away.
My husband and I came here for dinner. We were in Hamilton and quickly google Chinese restaurants nearby and we saw the amazing reviews and decided to try it out. It was the best experience we ve had at a restaurant. Good was incredibly flavourful, the customer service was amazing and the ambiance and food presentation was excellent. We definitely will be a regular. Amazing food and service. Parking: A lot of parking spaces .
OMGeee a real Chinese restaurant outside of Markham or Mississauga- this place is a gem! The food is fresh tasting! Book a Birthday party here... the owner will come out with his Karaoke Mic and sing for you Recommend recommend recommend
What a fantastic restaurant, food and service were absolutely top notch. Highly recommend.
Amazing food, great portions and superb service! Truly authentic Chinese food!
Food was absolutely delicious but a bit overpriced for a weekday lunch.
So far we ve only gotten takeout from here. Really solid Chinese takeout.
Top tier Chinese food! I suppose the old adage of you get what you pay for rings true at Cynthias. Prices are higher than other Chinese food in the area but the quality is unmatched!
