134 Lakeshore Rd E, Oakville, ON L6J 1H4, Canada
Simple elegance permeates our restaurant, from classic French cuisine to each of our beautiful dining and event rooms. Our main floor consists of 3 light and airy dining rooms that seat 50-80, all accentuated by modern fittings on the original exposed brick walls. Downstairs, host a unique and intimate event in our wine cellar, originally the cell room of the police station our building housed in a previous life. Finally, walk upstairs to our second floor and find our gorgeous blank-slate event floor – which can be separated into two semi-private event spaces or one large, fully private event space.
Had dinner at your beautiful place last night! Beautiful venue, amazing food and David - our server made our night memorable! Thank you!!!! Will come back for sure!!
A lovely restaurant on the Lakeshore in Oakville. The atmosphere was a bit dark and mysterious from outside, intriguing enough to go inside. The decor feels luxurious, although I wish there were less large photos of celebrity women and more of which embodies the name of Ce Soir itself. Either way the service was excellent and the food was tasty. Charcuterie was more than enough for two. The French onion soup was insanely good and will probably be back for another soon. Would recommend.
Three of us tried Ce Soir for the first time on a Saturday for lunch. The interior is beautiful, upscale vibes, classy decor. When we visited it wasn’t busy at all (almost empty) for a weekend. We ordered the Spinach and Bibb salad, and two of the Tartines/sandwiches (which I believe they are known for): the Prosciutto and Burrata and the Croque Madame. I am a fair reviewer and these were average, lacking in flavour. Salad was basic. For $20-$24 per, my expectations were higher. The service was wonderful as was the vibe & ambience. May try for dinner, as the menu is different. They do have a beautiful private dining space in the basement (photo provided).
We chose Ce Soir to celebrate a family member’s birthday, and from the moment I entered, the warm ambiance made us feel welcome. As expected in a fine dining setting, everyone was dressed up—thankfully, I was too! Once seated, we started with the French onion soup. I always judge a French restaurant by its soup, and Ce Soir exceeded my expectations; it was among the best I’ve had. For the main course, I ordered: •Spinach and Bibb with grilled chicken: I’m usually not one for salads, but this one won me over. •Mushroom Ravioli: Absolutely delicious, with great flavor. •Lobster Spaghetti: If you trust my reviews, go for the lobster spaghetti—you won’t be disappointed! This was the best I’ve tasted, with perfect flavor and portion. •Rack of Lamb: Packed with flavor, though it may not be for those who aren’t fond of a strong lamb taste. My only major complaint was the serving time. It took nearly an hour for our food to arrive, leaving us a bit frustrated, especially since our server didn’t check in with updates, which I’d expect from a place of this caliber. Overall, Ce Soir is a lovely spot for a special occasion. I hope management takes note of the feedback, as it has the potential to be an even better experience.
Came here on a holiday, and it wasn't too busy. The oysters were pretty good. Our entrées were also pretty good-- we got the lamb and roast chicken dishes. It did take long for the food to come out. The atmosphere is nice so I'd probably come back.
Had my first date with my partner here and then a few years later, he planned a proposal for us at the same place! The staff were amazing and secretive and I had no clue. They really worked with us and Perfect Proposals to help my dream proposal come to life!! The food in our candlelit dinner was also delicious Thank you Ce Soir family and Perfect Proposals for the best day of my life! :)
The best Lobster pasta I have ever had. Pasta was made in house and it’s unbelievable. Also the Onion soup was delicious 😋. Highly recommend this place. The waiter was kind to offer us dessert for our anniversary. Excellent customer service 👌
Celebrated our anniversary dinner at this place. I really enjoy the service and ambience of this place. Food was also delicious. I had the short ribs for my main and the burrata for appetizers. Having amazing service really makes the dinner experience more enjoyable. I recommend this place for any romantic dinners and you can stroll outside for a nice romantic walk.
My wife and I went to Ce Soir to celebrate our anniversary. When we arrived the entrance way was packed but we had a reservation and within a few minutes we were seated at our table. Pre-dinner drinks arrived quickly and same for our appetizers. We went with the Oysters on the half shell (delicious). My wife chose the Bouillabaisse (which she loved) and I went with the rack of lamb (cooked to perfection). Wines (by the glass) were good and the portions were generous. For dessert we were offered a tray of sweets which included Mille feuilles, Chocolate cake and a vanilla ice cream (on the house). Overall the service was prompt and very friendly with the manager coming to check on us a few times. I definitively recommend Ce Soir as a place to go to enjoy a lovely meal with attentive servers and staff.
Dietary restrictions: Vegan option but little Food
Great portion of the food but service kinda slow
Always a great meal and service.
Attended 6 women in total. 50% of the food dishes left a lot to be desired. The burgers (ordered by 2) were grossly undercooked even though we stated how we wanted them cooked. They did take them back and re-do them ..one came back almost raw (thr server mentioned that chef temp d it and it was OK, the other still undercooked but better than original. Did mention that with the re-cooking time, one of the parking meters would expire. They did pay for that. When a bloody caesar was ordered and NO SPICE was specified, well they got that wrong also. The bitter salad that was ordered was sooooooo extremely bitter that the who ordered it could not eat it. The right thing for them to do would have been to comp the items with the issue for customers who had the issues ..3 out of 6. They comped 1. Unfortunately it was a 1st time there for the majority of us .I can say it will be the last time. 1 unsatisfied customer tells, on average, 10 people who each tell 10 people ..not very good for sure for Ce Soir.
Service was so slow at lunchtime today. Great ambiance and food. Too bad the service didnt live up to everything else.
A very cozy and comfortable place, Alexander is a very attentive and pleasant person. Thanks for your work. Here we enjoyed delicious dishes and drank very good cocktails
Boring old fashion food, no decent vegan options
We visited this restaurant for the first time recently, and everything was perfect. Will definitely be back.
Excellent atmosphere and service. Attention to detail was very good and made us feel very welcome. Food
The food was surprisingly good and the portions were decent for the price. The lamb was good, but it could use a bit more flavor. The smaller steak was okay, but the other steaks that didnt have prices were ridiculously expensive. They should tell people the price when they order. The service was lacking, and the desserts werent very good, so dont bother with them.
Food
Its a beautiful location with good service, but for the price the food was not impressive. We had foie donut and the foie was under seasoned and the donut was soggy (theres supposed to be a glaze, so some moisture, but it just didnt work).
Food was filling, service was fantastic.
I ve come here a few times now and every time has been wonderful. The service is always excellent. Their bar is beautiful and cocktails are delicious. Special shoutout to the staff who worked yesterday as they accommodated me and my party last minute.
This place is phenomenal! The food is absolutely amazing! Mushroom ravioli and the escargot bone marrow are a MUST!
The duck was extremely salty and the beef was under salted. 2 attempts same result. They were nice enough to comp the duck. Mussels were ok. Scallops were delicious and the best part of the meal. @ $38 I was expecting more then 3 medium sized scallops. Service was top notch. Ambience and atmosphere was amazing. The lagavulin 16 reasonable priced at $18 with a generous pour.
Trevor, Vladisluv.. Allan and Rachel .my people amazing food and service always. Love you all
Good food and place.
Great service, welcoming, and warm. On top of things, super attentive. Drinks and food was out of this world- always recommend the burger! Food : 5/5
I ve been to this restaurant many times. I specifically chose this place to celebrate my birthday, but I was not expecting this to be the worst dining experience I ve had here. Starting with the service, there was no bread provided, even though we usually receive bread before the meal. We didn t make a fuss because we had ordered appetizers, so we let it slide. Oysters are something I always order, but this time was a disappointment the first one tasted fishy. I asked the server if they could be replaced, but after checking with the kitchen, they told me that even if they were replaced, they would still be yesterday s oysters, so I had them returned. The main course, the Cornish hen, was initially impressive the first bite was juicy and flavorful. However, after that, the chicken became increasingly dry and tough. Additionally, the king oyster mushrooms in the short rib dish were sour and didn t taste right. Overall, the only dish that met my expectations was the Escargot Bone Marrow appetizer; the rest were very disappointing. The only thing worth praising was the bartender the drinks were really well made.
We were there to celebrate a birthday and they could not have treated us any better or made the birthday girl feel any more special. Ce Soir provides the perfect environment to enjoy a really great meal. Great wine list as well. From the first cocktail to the last bite of dessert, the service was amazing and the food was even better. Will definitely visit again.
We held our wedding reception at Ce Soir and it was the best decision we could have made! We wanted a space that spoke for itself and didn t need additional decorations and we needed an element of flexibility (e.g., ability to bring own dessert, no cake cutting fee), so this was a no-brainer. The space is absolutely gorgeous with the brick walls and the big mirrors, and is intimate enough to allow mingling and options between the two rooms upstairs. We dealt mainly with Shayna, who was wonderful! However, in the week leading up, Lucien and Izzy were incredibly helpful and attentive in Shayna s absence on vacation. The coordination was super easy and there were great food and drink options to choose from. We knew exactly what our food total was going in, then just the bar total was added night of based on consumption. They were very accommodating leading up, including allowing us to drop stuff off earlier and setting up the space as we envisioned. Night of, Brian was a gem. Our families and the two of us so impressed with his hospitality and attentiveness! We felt taken care of and it made for a relaxing experience. Brian was super communicative regarding things like what parts of the cake to cut and that was very much appreciated. That night and in the couple of days since, we ve had several guests rave about the food, especially the salmon, chicken, crème brule, and potato croquets. We absolutely had a blast and could not be happier with our choice of venue! Recommended for any events that require mingling, an incredible atmosphere, great food, and top tier hospitality. Thanks so much! Dietary restrictions: Could easily accommodate all dietary restrictions our guests had
Nice to have a high level restaurant with reasonable pricing in Oakville. Vegetarian options: Menu has two vegetarian options on top of salads. Food : 5/5 |
Went for a wedding but had a drink in theain bar prior. Nice place with great service.
Ce Soir hosted my wedding reception and were absolutely wonderful to work with! Their event organizers Shayna and Lucien were very helpful, accommodating, friendly, well organized, and our host on the day Brian provided absolutely top notch service! The food was magnificent, delicious, reasonably priced and arrived for our party of 20 all at the same time - hot and perfectly the same. Everyone enjoyed the atmosphere of the historic venue, the lovely food, and our hosts wonderful sense of humour and readiness to take care of our every need before we even asked. I am so grateful to Ce Soir for making my wedding day absolutely perfect! Will definitely be back! Highly recommend for your next event!!
Excellent atmosphere, the onion soup was delicious, there were five of us. All the dishes seemed good except the homemade hamburger which had no taste. Unfortunately, the quality of our server was poor and the service was slow.
I was happy to work with Shayna, the event manager, while planning my engagement party at Ce Soir. She was really helpful and I was able to communicate with her easily through their online portal as I was planning it from abroad. She and Bella helped me set up the decor on the day of the event and made the place look stunning. Brian was en excellent host. Big thanks to the entire team at Ce Soir. I highly recommend this location for any private event.
If youre considering having your wedding at Ce Soir, dont just think about it do it! Our experience was absolutely phenomenal from start to finish. The service was top-notch, the venue was stunning, and the food was out of this world. Every detail was meticulously attended to, and the entire team was incredibly accommodating and kind. A special shoutout to Shayna, the events manager, who went above and beyond to ensure that everything we envisioned came to life. Her dedication made our special day even more memorable. We received countless compliments on both the food and the service, and I couldnt be happier with how everything turned out. Thank you, Ce Soir, for making our wedding day so amazing and unforgettable!
I had just a burger which was very delicious. What stood out though was how awesome Alyssa Gokul and Patrick were as servers! Dietary restrictions: We were a group of Muslim guys and Alyssa totally understood that we were a no pork table.
Came here for a birthday. The oysters, mussels were amazing as was the short rib. Better than many french restaurants in Toronto
Always a great experience.
I had my 15 year wedding anniversary here and everyone was blown away by the atmosphere, food, service and vibe. It was a night I will never forget. It truly felt like we were somewhere very special!
The food and service were very good compared to other restaurants in the vicinity. The music remains the problematic issue. Restaurant management seems challenged in deciding whether the establishment is a bar or a restaurant. Hint: turn up the music at 9PM and not at 6PM.
We enjoyed the delicious food and the hospitality of the waiters and the beautiful atmosphere of this restaurant and we recommend it to everyone. Everything was great
Went there for lunch for a birthday. Noted on my reservation. Server acknowledged but didnt offer anything special. I guess you have to ask or maybe they dont offer anything special for occasions. Service was decent, but ordering took a while considering there were only a few other people in the restaurant at the time. Charcuterie board app was decent. We had mocktails that were priced as cocktails. Tartine was sub par for the price we paid. The croque sandwiches were definately a better value for your money; overall I think we paid too much for lunch, but hey its downtown Oakville.
Rude white senior male waiter with glasses, condescending attitude, bro earn tips with attitude, rate 2 stars cuz dont want you to delete my comment. ni men yi qun bai zhu sha bi~
A wonderful place to dine out, great food.
Upscale restaurant with great ambiance. The staff and good was exceptional. Would definitely vist again!
My husband and I recently enjoyed a very tasty dinner at Ce Soir. Both the quality of the food and service were excellent. The lobster spaghetti is served with a full lobster tail on top plus more lobster in the pasta most impressive compared to how this dish is usually disappointing, even at similarly priced restaurants. Only two small criticisms the puzzling choice of large black & white photographs of actors and supermodels all over the walls with no apparent theme they re not all from the same era for example. There are also some French usage/spelling errors on the menu which will likely go unnoticed by many guests but not all. Overall, a very enjoyable meal and I would definitely recommend this restaurant especially for a gathering of friends or a couple.
Good food, good service and a nice little restaurant.
If god came down to earth today, he would have lunch here. The food is absolutely fantastic!!! The salmon is worth of gods and the roasted chicken is a dream come true. Service is impecable!!! This is my new fav restaurant in Oakville. Definitley coming back.
Mixed Experience at Ce Soir Brasserie + Bar in Oakville We recently visited Ce Soir in Oakville on a quiet Monday night. The restaurant was nearly empty, yet we were seated in a corner by the kitchen entrance, which was less than ideal. The food, however, did not disappoint. We started with the oysters, which were excellent, followed with the lobster spaghetti, and the seafood Provençal Bouillabaisse, equally superb. Unfortunately, the service was just okay. Our server did not introduce himself until he brought the bill and seemed rushed, likely because he was handling both the bar and the tables. For dessert, we weren t given a menu and had to ask the server about the options. He recommended the pistachio Mille-feuille over the chocolate cake, citing the latter as too heavy for the hot weather. The pistachio dessert was delicious, but at $18, it felt overpriced, suggesting it might have been pushed as a special for the night. Overall, while the food at Ce Soir was very good, the service and seating arrangements left room for improvement.
We had our small intimidate wedding this past weekend at Ce Soir in Oakville. We came home from The Bahamas for the wedding and had guests from all over Canada, the US, the UK and The Bahamas in the Bistro Room. I planned the wedding with Shayna, the extraordinary event planner onsite from March until this past wkd in June. She was very prompt and detailed in her responses. Super helpful and provided recommendations for best practices and ideas the entire way through. She was incredible professional in her communication, included context always and was super pleasant. I ve planned events for my whole career and she is someone I would have loved to have had in my team! She arranged for a tasting prior to the wedding and the food was awesome then and at the wedding! I have a very picky group of eaters and everyone was wow d with the service, the quality and size of the food options and options and they were super accommodating with a mix of fruit and wedding cake and specialty desserts. The bar in the room included some outstanding signature cocktails during our receptions, delicious canapés to start and wine and drinks throughout the whole evening. The team lead by Shayna and Patrick on our wedding night was top tier. Very experienced and took all tasks off my hands the whole night. As an event planner this was odd for me but SO nice to let someone else take care of everything! My husband (the groom) doesn t drink alcohol and Shayna walked up right before our toast with two glasses of bubbles, Prosecco for me and sparkling water for him, just one example of her excellence in attention to details. The whole atmosphere of the restaurant was amazing, they were super agreeable and easy to work with the whole time and given my father is in a wheelchair, their attention and openness to accessibility was amazing! They had a ramp for him to get in and out and a wheelchair accessible washroom in the ground floor! Without a doubt I d recommend Ce Soir for cocktails, dinner or any special occasions for larger groups and would be happy to share my experience with anyone anytime looking for feedback on a great experience! Thank you Shayna, Patrick and Team for an unforgettable wedding experience in your space! PS they also have a great kids menu which was greatly appreciated for our flower girls and ring bearer who wouldn t have wanted the adult menu! That was a real win! Vegetarian options: Very accommodating with GF, DF and vegetarian options. Dietary restrictions: GF, DF and kid friendly Wheelchair accessibility: Front door entrance has a removable ramp and they have a handicapped washroom on the main floor of the restaurant which was a key reason we booked at the restaurant!
*NEW FOR 2024* Ce Soir was previously Four Seasons - a restaurant that has since about COVID been bought out by Aiden Hospitality Group. Although unsure of what our experience would be, I was absolutely blown away by the restaurant. The menu is traditionally French cuisine - a true treat. The cocktails were fun, tasty and interesting. The food was exquisite. I dont think Ive loved a mussel sauce more (moules frites) and my lamb was incredible. My partners bone-in steak was perfectly cooked. The lobster spaghetti was tasty. We were there on a Saturday night and our server Patrick was very lovely. Not too in our face - just the right amount of service. The restaurant was quite busy and the staff seemed to managing well. A beautiful gesture was being offered glasses of bubbly to celebrate our recent engagement which was an unexpected classy touch. They have a lower room for private dining up to 16 people, and an upstairs where larger events can be held that Patrick showed us. Overall, I would not hesitate to come back to celebrate a special occasion. Kudos to all staff and management.
Really tasty food & drinks! Amazing service too!
We recently had our wedding rehearsal dinner at Ce Soir Brasserie + Bar, and we couldnt be more thrilled with the experience! From the moment we started planning, Shayna, our event coordinator, was incredibly helpful and attentive to every detail. She was incredibly responsive, ensuring all our questions and concerns were addressed promptly, making the planning process smooth and stress-free. The night of our dinner, Lucien, our server, provided exceptional service. His kindness and attentiveness will not be forgotten by us and our guests! Our family and friends have been raving about the delicious food and amazing service we had that night! The personalized menus Shayna created matched our decor perfectly and were such a thoughtful touch we even kept one for our wedding scrapbook! The food was absolutely delicious, and we were thrilled to offer our guests an on-site choice. I had the Chilean sea bass, which was just perfection great texture and a lovely, delicate taste. Our guests were equally impressed with their meals. The cocktails are also not to be missed just delicious! We are incredibly grateful to Shayna and the entire team at Ce Soir for executing a flawless evening. Their dedication and professionalism made our rehearsal dinner an unforgettable event. Thank you so much for everything!
We went for our anniversary dinner and had a great experience. The food was delicious and the service was fantastic. Our waiter (young French man, sorry forgot your name) made the evening very special for us. We will return!
loved having dinner here, i think ive found a new favourite restaurant! the escargot bone marrow was to die for! unlike anything ive had before, i really couldnt get enough of it. the mushroom ravioli was heavenly as well. patrick delivered awesome service. will be sure to return :)
I was there for a meeting and the food was good and the place was clean and neat
If you love mussels this is the place. The appetizer size is enough for a main and comes with fries. This is the best !
I am editing my review. Since the last visit was good, I decided to give it another try. Good lord they say every sequel flops it happened this time. First thing, the service was sooooo slow, for having an almost empty restaurant, it took a while to get our food. The food was flat, the bass was chewy and the dish was completely different since last time. The seafood provencal was too damn spicy. What happened folks? You charge top dollar for your dishes, one expects top food too! Sheesh With food and service, no questions asked. Everything was good. However, the staff were moving tables and chairs here and there making a lot of noise. There was a moment that 10-12 people were coming and going with tables and chairs, very annoying.... Mussels were wicked delicious. The bass, I would repeat it. The lamb was mid.
Excellent food and excellent ambiance. Gotta visit this amazing French restaurant.
Food fantastic, best mussels and sea bass ever!! Service however lacking: no refills on water, table not wiped down after first course when messy ( after being asked), had to ask for wine glass, had to ask for utensils for eating mussels. No attention to detail given .perhaps too busy.
We enjoyed lunch here: oysters, moules frites and steak frites. Good quality food, the oysters were fresh. Everything is tasty and well presented. The service is excellent. Definitely recommend!
Fantastic experience. Service was very attentive and friendly, food was so delicious, had plenty of room at the table. Highly recommend! Parking: Plenty of nearby parking, free after 6pm.
First visit ever, alone, walking the dog, decided to have a quick but classy bite. Steak tartare, was delighted to see it on a menu in Oakville. Well....4 stars...not bad, but I had better, reasonable portion though, quail yolk was a nice cherry on the top. Service top notch, great ambiance.
Great atmosphere good food. Great location try the desserts
Enjoyed the private event here. Very elegant and some good service. My only objection was as its a Brasserie they didnt seem to have much of a beer selection and being a Saturday night were out of 1-2 of them limited selection. The food was great!
If I could give 10 stars I would Service was premium class! Food
My smoked tomato bisque soup arrived hot and tasty. I selected the sea bass option which was beautifully displayed on my platter . It was tasty and flaky but not warm enough upon its arrival in front of me. Dessert wasn t offered but I asked for tea. Earl Grey came in nice little pot with cup but no teaspoon or milk and sugar. I had to ask for these. My friend who was celebrating her 80th birthday was promised a complimentary dessert. We had to ask for this; it was not immediately offered though at the time of reservation, the special occasion was mentioned. We sat and waited for the bill and finally went inside to clear up the tab. Too many glitches occurred with the service. Given the amount we had spent and the costly items on the menu, I would expect far better service than what was provided. Unfortunately, this was my first and last time to dine there.
My favourite ever. My special occasion has to be there.
This is the second visit to this restaurant. Unfortunately, although the food was good, it certainly doesnt make up for the price, especially when it came to the bouillabaisse. Time to move on to another restaurant.
Our waiter was very nice and friendly. The food was great and I would definitely return.
Gone once for lunch and dinner. Both time food was great especially the French onion soup .delicious. Great atmosphere and good service. Pricing is fair. Only complaint is the tiny martini glasses. Will go again.
Disappointing birthday dinner. We had never been there since it was Seasons. Order through open table and requested if possible a window table. Restaurant called to confirm reservation and re affirmed that we had a window table, we arrive exactly on time as was asked was it OK if they seated us in the lounge area ..which was a loud upscale bar with club type music pounding ..discovered later this annoying music was throughout the restaurant. I advised that we had booked and confirmed a window seat and was told we would have to wait, fortunately the manager/owner quickly appeared and we got a window table. The food was certainly 5 star, but service was average and certainly not a place for a nice romantic dinner ..I guess the name should have told me what to expect .Brasserie +Bar. , my bad, If you want good food in a club with loud music this is a good place, however not my Fibe!
First time here and we loved every minute of it. The ambience was very nice, food incredible and service from Patrick even better. We had the fois gras doughnuts, steak tartare, lamb rack and a burger and every single dish hit the mark. Highly recommend , and we will be back! Thank you.
Steak tartar was great. Service was amazing. Drink menu and good and very cozy place
It was lovely but the music is really, really poor. Does not match a fine dining atmosphere (or any good atmosphere lol)
Everything was absolutely perfect!! Unfortunately the club music did not pair well with dinner
I was there over the weekend for a memorial service. It was a very nice set up upstairs, and the food was delicious
We recently had a family Celebration of Life spectacularly hosted by this outstanding location. Over 100 people attended. Shayna and Ryan with the help of kind attentive staff took such good care of our family and friends. Food was amazing...beyond what I imagined and hoped our day to be. I cant say enough about the organization and attention to detail. Many many thanks
Loved my dinner at Ce Soir. French onion soup is THE Best and one of the main reasons I keep on going back. Brought soup home for hubby and their attention to detail even extended to take away. Check out the re-heating instructions. Bon appetit! Wheelchair accessibility: Dining areas are accessible. Bathrooms are not as they are lower floor. Public parking behind the restaurant with accessible spot. They have a ramp that can be placed at front if required.
Everything is PERFECT
Great place and has great potential but not quite there yet. Beautifully decorated and the bar is magnificent although I think the photos on the wall dont necessarily jibe with the vibe. Not sure what I think of having a DJ in a restaurant but thats personal opinion, though I found it distracting. La vie en rose cocktail was tasty but there was hardly anything in the glass, all ice cube and hence was gone in seconds. Prosecco was good and a healthy pour but the Cab-Merlot was bitter and a small pour, fortunately because it didnt taste great, that wasnt a problem. Friday night so it was fairly busy but not crazy, however, service was slow and not as crisp as it should be. Ordered drinks and waited a good 20 minutes to receive them. Bread seemed to be an afterthought and was delivered without butter. Received my bouillabaisse but nothing to put the shells into which made it impossible to eat and the waiter was nowhere to be seen for about 10 mins. Tasted delicious though. The beef short ribs were cooked well but the meat itself lacked flavour... though my wife didnt seem to mind. Dessert was a flop. The Mille-feuille was unnecessarily complicated (after first being told it wasnt available) the cherry was a big disappointment, seemed like it was trying too hard. The Crème brûlée was served stone cold like it had been made that morning and then just come out of the fridge. Ordinarily you could forgive some of these issues but when the prices are what they are, you expect more. Will give it another chance but not any time soon.
Absolutely fabulous food!!
An absolutely wonderful time here. Went with friends and ordered the duck confit, lobster spaghetti and salmon, along with scallops to start. Everything was perfectly cooked, well plated, and delicious. Service was excellent as well. We finished with a few different desserts which were also wonderful. Will come again for sure.
Limited options for those with dietary restrictions, but they can accommodate a plant-based diet. My meal was quite enjoyable. It is a gorgeous space and the service was very good. We didn t anticipate that the music would be so loud, as this made it difficult to engage in any conversation. Other than this, the ambiance was quite nice. Aside from the pictures on the walls, this restaurant is tastefully decorated too, which definitely adds to the experience.
Unfortunately the experience was less than fantastic . We struggled to get table service repeatedly and the food was just ok The lobster tail dish: sadly the lobster was overcooked and the overall composition of the dish was not great. Over cooked pasta under tough lobster with flavours that don t complement. Would not order again. The scallops: were tasty 2024: Had the chance to revisit for a quick birthday drink and dessert and we were very impressed with service and dessert options. Will def come back and retry a dinner . Stay tuned! 2023: The rack of lamb: ok The washrooms are in the basement and stairs are required. There is a accessible washroom on main floor but you need to ask for access. The basement smelled really musty. There is mold on ceiling in accessible washroom.
Alec is doing a great job!
A family outing of 4. Overall, both entrees and appetizers were very good. My spaghetti dish was a bit salty for my taste. The service was superb and the atmosphere was warm and comfortable. The background music was a bit loud but tolerable
The ambiance of this place is classy and elegant a great date night spot. The cocktails were yummy. But we found the food to be overpriced for what it is. It was just okay, and weren t wowed by the flavours. We had the tomato soup, French onion soup, and steak frites. The soups were good, but not incredible. The steak was good, not great; I think for $55 it should have left a stronger impression. I won t be dreaming of coming back to reorder anything. The service wasn t the best. Again, for the price that you pay, we expected more. We had to ask for spoons for our soup and bread for the table. We had empty glasses for a lot of the evening and waited a while for refills. The server was friendly, but didn t seem attentive enough.
Lovely experience
This is a great new place in Oakville that has a trendy vibe, which is frankly hard to find in Oakville. Ive only eaten appetizers and had drinks at the bar but I thought the food was really good. The French onion soup is to die for. The soup base is so beefy and rich. Cocktails are awesome. Also had the burrata which was good. The price point is high but its high everywhere in Oakville. I would go again.
We ve tried several appetizers and it was a pretty good experience. Nice atmosphere.
Loved the ambience, loved the service - loved the food - highly recommended!! I will come back again
Beautiful spot in Oakville. Service and food are impeccable. The scallops and Cornish hen are my favs and perfect in every way.
I came to the bar for a drink. Grace was amazing. She was very attentive and conversational. She was multitasking tending to the door as well, and as someone who works in the industry, her presence should be appreciated. Not everyone was on her level. My drink was fantastic, and Grace made my experience better.
Great appetizers. This was our first time at this restaurant. The appetizers looked so delicious my partner and I didnt have an entree. The bone marrow was the best Ive ever had, with the escargot it was perfect. We also had the mushroom ravioli which was excellent. I wasnt big fans of the fois gras, mostly because I prefer it whole as opposed to a mouse. The steak tartare was as good as it gets. We thought the tartar and marrow were the stars. The service was excellent. It was quite pricey, so definately not a regular outing.
Sadly we will not get to experience what I ve been given to understand is a lovely restaurant. I booked a table for Valentine s almost a month ago. 3 Feb I got a phone call informing me they had a 3 course dinner featuring a glass of Champagne and a macaroon as dessert for $175. Now I have no problem paying for a good meal but this is a bit much! With a btl of wine, grats and an Uber this becomes a rather expensive evening out. Prior to cancelling my reservation I went to check the menu again but it isn t posted anywhere. Of course it is far too late to book another reservation somewhere else so this is a disappointment, but I prefer that to spending $500+ for a 3 course meal.
If youre looking for some authentic French food, with friendly staff and some great service, look no further. Ce Soir offers up elevated versions of some of the classic French dishes, with their bone marrow escargot, the beef bourguignon, and the rack of lamb, which was cooked to perfection. Rosina, our server, was very attentive to our needs, making sure our glasses were filled and that our overall dining experience was a memorable one.
Nice ambiance and the food was OK. Waitress didnt seem sure of the menu, its content and questions from those with dietary restrictions. For those who ordered right off the menu the food and service were fine, for anyone else items were missed or forgotten and the service took a long time. Tried to get some plain fruit for one of our party with alergies and the apples were spicy hot and the strawberries tasted of garlic. Tasted like cross contamination. By the end of the night the serving staff were all missing in action. Finally Richard came by to make a mends. Nice guy, just a bit too late. Not a place Id recommend for anyone with dietary restrictions or if youre in a rush...
It is a great restaurant.
What an absolute gorgeous space. Upscale, stylish, and classic, the designer truly had a great eye, all the way down to the cutlery. The food was delicious, I had the confit while my partner had the pasta with lobster. Service was slammed but everything came out hot and promptly, and served by their wonderful staff that were knowledgable and truly in love with the food they serve and experience they provide. What an excellent example of great hospitality. Thank you once again, we look forward to our future visits!
Nice venue. Good service. The French Onion Soup was way too salty.
Delicious diner and extraordinary atmosphere!!!, fantastic client services experience was possible by David, super friendly and efficient guy
Good experience, went with a group of friends. Nice ambiance, great cocktails and food was tasty too.
The french cuisine here was really delicious. Our server, Izzy, was wonderful and made sure that we knew their top choices. Ranging from steak tartare, pan fried duck confit, and mushroom ravioli, she knew exactly how to satisfy our taste pallet. I will definitely come back here to try more!
Great restaurant with amazing service. Izzy was our waitress and was incredible throughout the entire night. Her wine recommendations paired perfectly with our courses
I have been to high end restaurants and I don t mind paying for good food and service. A lot of the places the service and atmosphere is good but the food s*** however, Ce Soir, we were here for our anniversary and we loved this place. The ambiance and the atmosphere were posh and elegant and the food was just amazing. It s a must place if you want a nice experience. Our waiters was very helpful and helped me with a wine suggestion that was perfect for the meat I had. I had chef s special and my wife had a mushroom ravioli and she loved it.
The ambiance at Ce Soir is top notch, very intimate setting and tastefully decorated. Service top was top notch as well! The sommelier highly elevated our experience, strategically timing our dishes to ensure they stayed warm and fresh. The food was good.. but I think a few modifications could elevate the dishes we had. We will definitely return!
Good food and excellent service. Came here for my wifes birthday with a party of 12 including 3 kids. Everyone had a great time. The hosts were friendly and accommodating.
Ambience & atmosphere of this restaurant is warm & welcoming. Drinks are excellent. Food is average compared to pricing. Taste was ok ok. Nothing great. I ordered mushroom ravioli. I have had better at other places. Chocolate cake was delicious.
Price is not matching the expected quality of food Be careful for the non-priced dishes, they are extremely expensive. I had tp pay for one plate $250 !!! and the taste was not great even. Food
We have had the privilege of hosting several events with Ce Soir Brasserie + Bar. The service, food and atmosphere is always top notch. Shayna has been instrumental in coordinating our events and ensuring all our details are taken care of. She is responsive and attentive to our guests needs. Would highly recommend hosting your next event with Ce Soir Brasserie + Bar.
I had my wedding there and it was amazing! Staff and the food was incredible.
I am coming back here again for sure! The French onion soup is a must, and the ravioli was incredible. Their desserts were yummy as well.
Had an amazing night, food was delicious. Christine was our server, she was pure delight. Everything was fabulous!
We celebrated my wife s birthday at the cellar room. The set Menu was great with great service and perfect music atmosphere
Ce Soir was all things perfect. Food, ambience & service was impeccable. Made our special day even more memorable. I d definitely recommend this place.
Celebrated our friend s birthday tonight and it was absolutely perfect. Shoutout to our lovely server Rose, who was warm, attentive and definitely made our night more magical! We had LA VIE EN ROSE & GREEN OASIS SPRITZ cocktail, made just right - kudos to the bartender. We dipped into the Escargot bone marrow, French onion soup, duck confit, burger, grilled salmon - all were chefs kiss. Ambience was quite the vibe, perfect for date night. If I recall correctly, the owner had given us a virtual cocktail lesson last year for our work event. Vividly remembered the wine cellar downstairs. We ll be back soon, thanks for a memorable dinner!
Delicious food with wonderful customer service.
Wonderful birthday dinner for our dearest friend! Food was delicious, and drinks and dessert were terrific. Loved the ambiance! The whole experience was so special thanks to Grace. What an amazing young woman! Her energy, humour and attentiveness made us feel like we were part of the family. Thanks Grace for making this evening so memorable! We look forward to coming back again and catching up! Vegetarian options: Wish there were a few more choices.
Excellent and highly recommend
Great new place with amazing service and unique tequilas
Ive received a response from the restaurant manager, and it only adds to my disappointment with the entire experience. The manager claims that they do, in fact, have a lunch menu, which makes the situation even more perplexing. When my husband and I clearly stated that we were there for lunch and not a celebratory occasion, theres no valid reason why the waitress wouldnt have offered it to us. It appears this omission was intentional, likely because the lunch menu is more affordable. This confirmation only solidifies my opinion that its advisable to steer clear of this place.
Amazing place, delicious food, great atmosphere, great waitresses, my wife and I had a really great time drinking champagne and eating oysters, food was tasteful. To the waitress a small note, whenever you are serving food and cleaning tables at the same time please wash your hands before bringing cutlery and food other than that our experience was great.
First and last time here. Service slow and timing not good for courses. Didn t have inventory of wine on list and tried to charge same for a much inferior wine. Waited over 45 mins to tell us this. Much better options in Downtown Oakville for same or better price. Fake French Brasserie IMO.
Amazing place for dinning in, especially for dinner. Took my mom here for a goodbye dinner and didnt regret it. Even tho, the place is a bit pricey (around 100$ per person per dinner), the food quality is outstanding. The service was pretty good but we were feeling somewhat forgotten (maybe they were a bit understaffed for the evening). The atmosphere was great, with dim lights, quite music and peoples chatter all around, a very nice dinery atmosphere. Parking: Bunch of free parking around downtown Oakville, especially next to Lakeshore.
We had a wonderful time at the restaurant. The food was excellent, friendly staff and a nice atmosphere.
First time here and the bartender customized a non alcoholic cocktail to pair with the foie gras and I was blown away! Loved the foie gras and scallops Food
Had an enjoyable evening after attending the Oakville Theatre for the Arts. My only regret is that we did not arrive earlier before 2/3 of the dessert choices were sold out.
Finally a lovely French bistro in Oakville! Service is friendly and attentive and there is a wide variety on the menu to please the fussiest eater. Ambiance is warm with the brick walls, lighting, and decor. We started with the scallops and bitters salad and had steak frites and bouillabaisse mains with crème brûlée for dessert. Definitely looking forward to returning!
The renovation was amazing and this is a stunning restaurant. Food is excellent, service is top notch and ot feels cozy for such a large space. Highly recommend.
Excellent restaurant, great food and atmosphere. Service is a bit slow.
Great food, exceptional service and lovely atmosphere, highly recommend!
This restaurant was amazing. Food was incredible, I highly recommend the Bone Marrow Escargot. Service was top notch. Perfect for a first date, family outing, etc. can t wait to go back!
Had lunch there with a friend. Food was delicious. I had the burger. She had a cheese starter, then mussels. She said hers was delicious also. Our server was so much fun. We did wait a bit for our food, but it was worth it. So fresh. I would certainly go back.
Came here for our 20th wedding anniversary on a rainy Wednesday night and Tyler treated us so well. Exceptional service and food was so delicious.
This is the joint to have a date night out. A few notables: Friendly and helpful staff. An excellent selection of wine. Live DJ. Exceptionally tasty food.
Amazing food and equally amazing atmosphere. Service is great. Recommend for date night or group dinners.
We tried Ce Soir this past weekend after hearing great things. The atmosphere was very inviting, trendy and industrial. The tables were however a little tight. The service was good, considering how busy the restaurant was. We had the oysters and charcuterie board and some drinks for our appetizers, all was amazing, great tasting and great variety. We decided on the steak frites and New York bone in with potato for our mains, both were cooked to perfection, however we both found the steaks and sides lacked taste/seasoning. Very bland overall. The price was very high, but the experience was very nice. This is a very nice restaurant, would be an excellent choice for a special occasion, anniversary, or even birthday. Definitely check out Ce Soir if you are in the area.
Two thumbs up
Dined here for a birthday dinner, and would happily return! The charcuterie board was plenty, the steak frites were cooked perfectly, and they served a creme brûlée with candle for dessert! To add, our waitress was extremely courteous and patient
Came here for my friends birthday dinner. The atmosphere was nice, warm and cozy. We ordered 2 of their Escargot bone marrows to share. It was ok, it didnt have much taste and pretty blend. The marrow was kinda like melted butter so it was all liquid. Not worth the $28. For the mains, 2 of them got the crispy duck confit and myself and another friend got the Ces soir burger. They said the duck was too heavy cus it was all meat and beans and it didnt come with any veggies/salads. They also said it tasted all the same with the sauces, so they didnt like it too much. The burger was ok, I asked for medium for my burger and they gave me medium rare, the fries that came with it was thin and crispy. The server was ok but had to track him down a couple of times to get more water. He didnt really come by to check on us once the food got here. The dinner was ok but very pricey for what you get. The bill came to $190 for 4 ppl without desserts.
Phenomenal meal!! My Chilean sea bass was absolutely delicious. The restaurant is cozy and romantic. We really enjoyed everything!
idk maybe dont list your closing time as 11pm when you lock doors at 9pm. got 7 entitled Bi-Yatches staring at me through the window like a jackass having tea all together
Food wasnt anything special, steaks were grisly. Way too loud, pumping dance music while were eating? Desert was good
Incredible menu with well executed dishes. Good attentive service, food was fresh and flavourful. Drinks were well priced and delicious.
Excellent service ! Went for dinner with friends and everything was very nice. I had lamb chops and it was outstanding. Very beautiful restaurant inside, but very busy. It s a good place to celebrate special occasions.
Just very expensive though
Had our holiday event here and it was amazing
Great food and service but music is way too loud.
I went here for a work dinner and had a great time! We were upstairs which was nice, but the downstairs dining area and bar are stunning! Really nice ambience, dim lighting, DJ, it s perfect for date night. The food took a while to come out but everyone s meat was cooked to perfection. The sides were a bit poor, everyone got one carrot piece, one slice of pepper, and one broccoli, with some mashed potatoes. All in all I would definitely return for date night or dinner and drinks with friends.
Great private room for our Christmas luncheon. Courteous staff, great food and company.
I was here for a company team dinner. Great food and ambience. The service is excellent. They know how to treat their customers.
It was a great evening spent with friends and amazing food... Loved it. Parking: After 6pm its free parking on the street Food : 5/5 |
We gave it a solid try- dined 5 times since change of ownership. Again tonight, left disappointed- inexperienced staff, slow and poor service, overpriced menu wanted to like the new refresh as much as we liked Seasons.
This place came up when I googled places to take my wife for a nice dinner. We went on a Tuesday night so it was not busy. Staff was very friendly and I forget our servers name but she was fantastic. Lots of recommendations and attentive. I think I went in feeling very gluttonous, so we ordered a bunch of apps and the main. Yes it was quite expensive and pricey. Perhaps my fault because I was reading the menu with hungry eyes and ordered a lot. We got the bone marrow with escargot, the scallops, the beef tartare, mussels and pate. And I still had a room for the lamb entree. The pate: not so good. Scallops, mussels and broth, beef tartare and lamb were amazing . The bone marrow with escargot was middle of the pack for me. Overall for a romantic night out it was great I dont know if Ill go back necessarily, mostly because there wasnt an item on the menu that I would want to go back again for. Plus how often can I splurge like that but I believe they have a price fixed menu option? So who knows perhaps Ill go back
Had the steak here and it was great! Service was amazing! Dietary restrictions: They asked if I had any dietary restrictions and were mindful of that which really helps for anyone that does! Food : 5/5 |
This was the best Christmas party our company has ever hosted! The staff at Ce Soir are professional, accommodating, and above all personable. We had approximately 250-300 people at any point in time within the establishment and it did not feel crowded. The food was passed or placed on serving tables so that everyone had plenty of choices throughout the 6 hour event. We will be looking to host our event again at the same location next year. Thanks Bobby!
