Rustic Italian fare served in a converted townhouse with an outdoor patio & an old country vibe.
Absolutely amazing! Food is incredible, the specials each week are breathtaking. You can tell the chefs are very talented and passionate. The service is remarkable. The staff take care of you from the beginning to the end. The atmosphere is one of a kind and special place. They have beautiful live music some night. This restaurant is one of a kind.
Beautiful outdoor patio, after spending two months in Italy, I was looking for something that would bring me back, and this restaurant definitely did so 🥰 AMAZING food, quaint spot, perfect to dine indoors and out! The staff are lovely, had a beautiful conversation with the owner as well, who was more than welcoming.
Everything was excellent. The service was amazing. They thought of us before we were even there. The oysters were crazy fresh and yummy. Out group pretty much had one of everything and we all lived it. But after tasting everything I'd say the best was the seafood pasta. Enjoy!
Value for money and quality of food very disappointing. Quality has dropped off dramatically. The Margherita pizza in the picture is nothing like what is published on UBER eats. Burrata was such a small item it was hard to believe it was $23. So so dissatisfying
Really enjoyed my sea bass 🤩 perfect cooked and seasoned, Yummy. Veal chop was juicy and tender, Arugula salad was good also , fresh and crisp. Definitely recommend 👍🏻
Went for a 4:30pm dinner on Valentine’s Day. Not too many people at that time and it was quiet and welcoming. Was quite confusing at the door as 3 separate people greeted us and told us they’d be back to seat us but didn’t come back but we still got seated quickly. They suggest an appetizer, we got the calamari which was great. We shared the gnocchi and margarita pizza. The gnocchi was flavourful and creamy and the sauce was a delicious dip for the crust of the pizza. The pizza was slightly underwhelming. I had expected fresh mozzarella and a sweeter tomato sauce and it was good, just not as expected. Cocktails were good too
Great date-night restaurant given the ambience and layout. I find it easy to have a conversation versus other places that get loud. The staff are knowledgeable, attentive and friendly. The food amazing. Also, priced well for the quality of the food versus some other downtown Oakville restaurants. This place is a gem and becoming a favorite of ours. I had the mussels (cozze) as an app, which was an ample amount. Sauce was tasty with a little heat and perfect for bread dipping. My main was the Penne. My wife had the Burrata as an app and the Risotto Funghi as her main. All made to perfection. We finished with a bread putting dessert which I must say had the most amazing tasting ice cream.
I went to celebrate my birthday on a rainy Wednesday and it was very nice. Server was super friendly and eager to serve, ambience was nice, I loved that there was Italian music playing in the background. Place is small but better that way, it feels very cozy. They have an amazing selection of Italian wines but I chose the Prosecco instead and the temperature was perfect. Food was delicious, appetizers, main course, dessert all amazing. I wish they had the touch of bringing a candle for me to blow and make a wish on my special day but I still did it with the tea light that was on the table :)
Couldnt be a more amazing experience. Our server Carla was amazing, she was extremely welcoming and a delight to have around. The food was Chef kiss
Love this restaurant! Their food is delicious! Service is fast for takeout. Highlight recommend
The most amazing place to celebrate my Aunts 70th birthday! Thank you so much to everyone who was amazing in serving our wonderful family! Its like you are part of the family now too! Obrigado! Grazie! Thank you!
Great food and service.
The food was delicious and fresh, loved the tiramisu. Would recommend for sure.
Awesome food. Great location for having discussion without a lot of noise. Love the place!
If you re looking for a restaurant with authentic Italian food, a clean atmosphere, knowledgeable happy staff dedicated to amazing customer experience and high quality ingredients then DO NOT go to this tourist trap of entitlement. From the moment we entered the server was rude and short literally. We had resos but he seemed bothered because we were 10 minutes early. Didn t look us in the eye and after trying to make small talk with him he rushed us to our table. Appetizers? Sparse. Small. Sharables are for 3 people not 4 so I guess they can t add another shrimp even when they see 4 people. Main course was mediocre and the server seemed frustrated at having to repeat the entree. She also had zero knowledge of the wine list. Personally I tip higher for great customer service vs food portions. This restaurant fails on all fronts but expects big tips. Will not be back!
me and my girlfriend came here to celebrate our birthday and let me tell you this place was fantastic from the mouthwatering food and drinks. not the mention the staff was great anthony the owner was more then helpful and welcoming. we had the calamari, two way bruschetta, the lamb dish (to die for) and a picante pizza with diavola pasta. everything was cooked to perfection and not one flaw in any of the dishes we ordered. this is now our go to place for date night
Fantastic restaurant. Great tasting good. Excellent portion size. You never leave hungry. Attentive service and home-y atmosphere. One of my favourite places to dine!
Amazing, delicious food!!! I highly recommend the tortellini, penne vodka, and patate pizza!
Nice restaurant, good staff and atmosphere. Food however is not very good. For example, they sell focaccia but is is plane white bread with oil and garlic that is dissapoonting
Excellent!! The food was delicious, the service was Excellent. The atmosphere was perfect!
Lovely Italian restaurant in Oakville.
Excellent food! Great service!
Friendly service
Requested a table change as there was a flicking light at our table. We were told the table near the outdoor space was reserved, however no one sat there for the 1.5 hours we were seated. The tables are very sticky. Food is not bad, but the spaghetti pescatore was very oily with a pool of oil at the bottom. It was our son s birthday, and there was no acknowledgment, not even a simple happy birthday. We have been to this restaurant many times before which is why we chose it for our son s birthday. I was very disappointed last night.
First experience and we loved it! The food was incredibly delicious, flavourful, fresh and well presented. The service was outstanding and the decor and ambiance was very nice. The only reason I didnt give five stars is because we found it a little bit loud but I guess thats all a part of the authenticity! At one point I noticed a very tiny drop of pasta sauce on my partners shirt and as he was dabbing a napkin in some water to clean, within seconds...the owner, I believed him to be, came from nowhere and was beside him with a Tide stick!! He then used it on his shirt and stain was gone!! Now thats customer service!! Had a fantastic time and would go again.
Good service and food was good value
Overall, the food here was decent albeit overpriced for the size of the plate that I received, but in todays day and age, everyone has their opinion on this. What I didnt like was the cleanliness and atmosphere. I like music when I eat my meal...but not blaring so loud that I cant hear the person next to me. One large speaker at the front, shattering my eardrums was a terrible experience. Oor party of 6 finished our meal ASAP and left to get dessert elsewhere. When it comes to cleanliness, theres nothing that turns me off more than sitting at a table and having my forearms stick to it. My cutlery was also glued to the table with no napkins or placemats under it. When restaurants wipe the table down, I always imagine that same dirty cloth they use on an entire nights worth of dirt, wiping off my eating area, but in most places my cutlery isnt placed directly on that surface....and it isnt stuck so badly to it that I have to apply force to remove it. Here, the entire table was sticky. I asked for new cutlery before I ate....maybe some people find this harsh, but I dont want to get sick after eating out.
Our waiter hakim
super nice place
I like the vibes
Recent diner for my wife and I. Enjoyed it. Food was good, service was good. Friendly.
Very nice Italian restaurant. Good for a date night
What a hidden gem, do not skip out on this! I came here for a date. The service was wonderful, just the right amount of attentive without being overbearing, and such a charming server (I m terrible with names and regret not recalling it, but whomever was serving the patio right up to close on the date of this review was amazing!) The food was just perfection. I had the Cavatelli and it was easily the most well constructed pasta dish I ve ever had that wasn t made by my own Nonna. Every bite had the right balance of ingredients, and was just filling enough to leave me wanting that little taste more, but being satisfyingly full (though I will say a touch spicier than the menu indicated - for those not fond of spice at all be careful as it does have a little kick). I ve lived and dined in Oakville for years, I feel like this isn t one of the go-to recos, and that really needs to change - it s immediately moved to the top of my list!
Seen the restaurant for years, never tried until now. Did take out today and it was phenomenal. We will be back for lunch or dinner soon.
Surprisingly not busy for Saturday. Staff were very nice and polite, great food.
After being sat at the table we were ushered away because a more important client was coming. Talk about a second class treatment. Detestable, deplorable and insulting. Stay away from this place. Not recommended.
I had made my reservation a week in advance before arriving at this location for a celebration for my partner. We arrived ahead on time and were not helped as we arrived. We met the head host and he gestured to where our table was and did not show us to it. We sat down for about 5 minutes and he came back to tell us this story of another customer who had called yesterday to reserve the same table we sat at and that he would be yelled at if we didnt move. He then made a joke to the server who was at our table and said that he will get us a better server anyways, the server was visually uncomfortable with the joke. He told us that we were being moved to another table. He then gestured the table so we did not see which new table we are being moved to. We were then moved in the back where it was dimly lit and incredibly crowded. We then got up to leave, and the same host then told us thank you, have a good night... Safe to say we will never recommend this restaurant and the unprofessionalism demonstrated this evening.
Sadly I cannot comment on the quality of the fare as the service I received prompted me to leave before ordering. My family and I made reservations for 7:15 for a party of 6. 3 of the group arrived and were seated and provided with menus, so far so good right? Well 5 minutes later, a gentleman came over and said I need to move you guys as someone who has a reservation after you needs to be at this table and I will get yelled at if she doesn t get this table. So my group was moved. Now while I feel for his plight, I am also a paying customer but apparently my $$ aren t as valuable as whoever would come in and do the yelling. Fast forward to the rest of my party joining, our new table is more cramped and we decided to leave. When we left without ordering, no one queried why we were leaving, no one asked if there was a concern, NOT ONE QUESTION. Just a thank you for coming as we filed out. Now while I know on the face of it - thank you for coming seems like a very gracious greeting, context is king. And in this context it was the equivalent of a southerner saying bless your heart and meaning quite opposite. I can t help but wonder if our updated seating arrangement, the lack of care about opting not to stay, if it has anything to do with the hue of my group. Either way, I was so flabbergasted by the treatment for a reservation my family and I were so looking forward to in celebration of coming out of a very traumatic week - I needed to post this.
This was our 2nd time dining at this restaurant with our friends , service , food & atmosphere was INCREDIBLE. Both times we had a server named Olivia - amazing !! Polite, attentive , friendly & knowledgeable. We highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for authentic Italian food and amazing service .
My partner and I went together recently for his birthday, and it was amazing! Our plans fell through at another place nearby and it was already 8pm, everyone else was booked up but they had space for walk-ins. Olivia, our waiter, was amazing! Really kind, helpful, and down to earth. The restaurant was comfortable, the food was great, and the pricing was super reasonable. The only thing was probably the volume, it was very very loud but its an Italian restaurant in a smaller venue. There isnt really much they can do! It cleared up around 9pm and got a lot quieter as folks started to leave. We will 100% be coming back soon! Thank you for a lovely evening!
Excellent food and service! And very Cosy place!! Probably one of the best restaurants in Oakville!!!
My wife and I really enjoyed Buca Di Bacco, service was excellent and super friendly. Both our dishes were delicious and will definitely be back. Thank you! Parking: Tons of parking on side streets.
Had an okay experience last night. Restaurant is tightly packed tables and loud. Servers didn t come often and food took awhile. Foccacia ordered was burned sliced white bread. Rest of food was good but for the price was expecting more.
First time trying this place in downtown Oakville. The place is nice, just a little cramped. In general the restaurant is loud, especially as we were sitting under the wireless speaker, which didn t help things. Food was good, not great and on the expensive side. I wouldn t order the focaccia starter, we got burnt sliced white bread. Service was slow but the staff are definitely friendly. Margarita pizza was good as were the mussels. This was the first visit so will give it one more try at some point.
What a great spot! The atmosphere is cosy and not over the top. Which our company really liked. Olivia, our server was absolutely fantastic. Very knowledgable on her food. Choices and wine selection. I would definitely go back.
Loved the experience! The owner is super nice and came to chat. We went to celebrate our anniversary and it was totally worth it.
Great food and great service!
Food was delicious! Service great, I can t remember if music was playing, but should have been, I was able to hear the conversation at another table.
Mia was our fun-loving spunky server. Anthony Tullo was live entertainment, what a nice guy! Food was delicious. Food
Called on a Friday at 6:00 for take ready in 10 minutes. Amazing pasta and fresh Italian bread. Absolutely recommend this place.
Lots of noise, no music
Four of us enjoyed great Italian pizza and wine at Buca Di Bacco yesterday. The pleasant surprise and highlight for us was the performer Anthony Tullo. Great talent!
Wonderful atmosphere, accompanied with live music. Dishes are solid, come out hot, and service is quick and efficient.
What a wonderful evening of great food and excellent service. The gnocchi is the best I ve had in a long time and the pizza was delicious.
We really enjoyed it! It was a nice restaurant with great service. The calamari, penne vodka, prosciutto pizza were delcious. The Nutella Donuts were to die for!
My first time at Buca di Bacco and I loved it. Such a cozy, bustling vibe, with a live guitarist, and great wait staff, and just awesome food. We had the bruschetta, risotto, and arugula salad with chicken, and all of it was top-notch. Definitely will be back.
March/02/24 Had an amazing experience at this restaurant. Ordered the calamari fritti which was perfectly cooked, actually the best calamari we ve tasted for far! For mains, I ordered the Osso Buco and it was divine! Pull-apart tender with some amazing sides that pair well with the juices and flavours. The bone marrow was like beef butter, so good, adding a rich beef flavour to the dish. My girlfriend ordered the lasagna and the flavour profiles in each layer were pretty good for lasagna, loved how the beef tasted and it wasn t too cheesy like some restaurants. For dessert we got the crème brûlée and the focaccia bread pudding. The crème brûlée was decadent and not too sweet with a nice caramelized sugar coating to pair, but the real star was the bread pudding, rich in chocolate, soft, moist but not too sweet and the caramel paired with the vanilla ice cream was exquisite! Definitely coming back for more!
Waited about 5 minutes for somebody to lead me to a table. However their food is fair. I tried chicken masala and it was so good, would be better if they got more sauce on the top, a little bit dry for the last few pieces. Mushroom was perfectly fried with beautiful smell. The tiramisu was too moist, too much coffee made it so soft and bitter. but still, it s not a bad place to try Italian food.
Great anniversary dinner. Food was delicious. Service was great. First time there. Will be back!
Great food. Rushed by the waitresses to get out of the place. Nice place to talk and have a good time, but we were interrupted too many times by the waitresses. It is nice they ask how is the food and also check if the customers need something, but this reached a point where we felt they just wanted us out.
I had the seafood pasta & it was absolutely delicious. Staff was very friendly and atmosphere was gorgeous 10/10 would reccomend
Best Italian rest in Oakville. Food is great. Bruschetta 2 ways, Mussels Pepporonata, Potatoes pizza & Spaghetti Pescatore are recommended.
Had a wonderful dinner last night at Buca Di Bacco. Great staff, yummy food, and cozy atmosphere!
Ive been here a few times and the food has always been good. This time, I was very disappointed. The pasta was a mushy overcooked mess. The pizza was obviously frozen thick crust, not at all Italian. I had to apologize to my date. I wont be back.
Got the mushroom risotto and the Arancini and both were really good. The staff were really friendly too
Great Italian restaurant in Oakville, Ontario.
So good! You have to try this place!
Great service great food great atmosphere fair prices Highly recommend!
Loved my recent experience at Bucca Di Bacco. The fish was on a special menu and absolutely delicious. The bartender made me a blended cocktail between a whiskey sour and old fashioned. Vibe & music was great. Really enjoyed my experience here. Totally recommend this place if you re looking for an Italian restaurant in Oakville downtown.
Good atmosphere and quite busy, somewhat difficult to hear across the table sometimes. A little too brightly lit. We had the bruschetta to start. The traditional one was wholly forgettable, but the mushroom one was quite flavourful. We then had the tortellini which was the best item we tried, quite good. The rapini pizza was really poor. It was unlike any pizza I ve eaten anywhere, more like a thick flatbread, almost focaccia like texture. Toppings were bland, we brought most of it home, it was no better for breakfast! I enjoyed the evening but this is kind of a roadhouse Italian for food quality, kind of place.
Came to this very authentic Italian restaurant for dinner with a friend. The pasta was so good! I had seafood and she had a spicy one, I can t remember the names but they were delicious! Someone offered to bring bread to some up the sauce, it was such a nice touch and the bread was so yummy. We each got a drink that was great, the staff was very attentive and friendly. I would definitely come back here again.
We really enjoy this spot, and have been back multiple times as a couple, and with a larger group. Every time we have been treated with warmth by the helpful team, and served a wonderful meal. The place is regularly hopping without feeling crowded. We prefer shared family style here, and have tried nearly all the apps, pastas and mains. Everything is delicious and made with skill. Our favorites include the carpaccio, gnocchi, veal and seafood dishes. The ribeye and octopus specials were recent highlights. Highly recommended.
I had taken my girlfriend here for date night to try a new Italian spot. Overall, I would say the food was okay, the veal ossobucco had me in tears as it was over cooked and the sauce had a funny taste to it. My favourite dish was ruined for me, staff was friendly but overall the dinner wasnt that special for the price.
Great place for a romantic dinner we loved it
The place is very cute and the food is very fresh and delicious.
Absolutely amazing!! The food was authentic and outstanding, The service went above and beyond. I highly recommend dining. Thank you Lucio!!!! Steven & Nancy
Been here a few times.. great food, and great service! Love the seafood pasta!!
Best Italian in Oakville by far
Wow, this place far exceeded our expectations! We are long-time Oakville residents but just discovered this place. We had their Taste of Oakville menu and were pleasantly surprised to experience the care taken in the ingredients and cuisine. Thanks for the wonderful meal - we will be back!
Great food, service (Olivia was very welcoming) and ambience. I ordered the lasagne which was very filling and delicious. I also ordered the meat balls to share which were more than plentiful for one person and they had the homemade taste. The place was poorly lit and prices were rather high.
Amazing restaurant and staff. Specifically one of the owners (Lucio) who personally helped us. Delicious food and good portions. Cozy place :) Definitely we will come back and recommend to friends !
Amazing food, great service & the owner (Anthony) was awesome! Absolutely will be coming back.
Fantastic place.. staff was excellent and professional. Food was excellent. Love the atmosphere.. the portions were a bit small but other than that.. bellissimo
Excellent meal - calimari appetizer was super, and pizzas we ordered were wonderful (note: large portions) - very tasty. Service was exemplary! Definitely worth a return visit.
This place is delicious! The pizza crust was so light and fresh, the pasta was cooked perfectly! Just the right amount of spice in the tomato sauce and the atmosphere was very cozy and nice as well!
Cute place.. Food was delicious.. Service was amazing.. Loved it..
Calamari was very nice, the batter was one of the best I ve had. Margarita pizza was different than expected. Dough was good but very doughy so depending on what you like. Penne vodka sauce was amazing! The tortellini was good but I wouldn t get it again. Atmosphere was nice.
Great food but the place is far too noisy !!!
Had to wait for about 10 minutes at the (tinyl entrance to be able to go and seat in our reserved table. Good food . A bit crowed and too noisy. Difficult to maintain a conversation with another peraon at normal levels. Food
Ive been to this restaurant 3 times and have had lovely experiences. The food is exceptional. Be sure not to skip out on dessert. The cannolis are amazing.
Italian themed restaurant with good food but service is inconsistent. Some people get served but we never saw a server for 45 minutes. It can get tiresome always chasing down a server. Good option for Uber eats.
My wife and I celebrated our anniversary here. As we walked in the door, there was great music playing in the restaurant and a friendly atmosphere as we were greeted by Anthony the owner. The food was delicious and the wine chosen by Anthony was spot on. We dont normally come to Oakville but we definitely will be coming back to buca di bacco. Salute!
Visiting the Masonic Lodge opposite. Your program error and a waste of my time.
You should be ashamed to call that a pizza. Where to start? The dough is hard, plasticky, some spots not cooked enough, looked horrible. They try to cut the pizza, but because the dough is so bad, you cant use silverware to eat it, you must rip it with your hand and bite it. Then, when you do, it each bite takes 2 minutes to swallow. Pizzas were too small for the price, 25 bucks for a pizza needs to be enough to fees a human being decently. Poor ingredients, cheapest cheese. So overpriced, not even close to worth the cost. I would never recommend this place or order from it again.
Authentic Italian food!! There specials are always amazing, best service by Lucco!!
If you are NOT Italian like myself maybe this restaurant it s not for you. I am sad to report that my friend and I had a very unpleasant evening at this restaurant. Our first order was a bruschetta, which was actually tasty (that is the only reason why I gave 2 stars). We then wanted to order a carpaccio. By the description on the menu, we decided to call the waitress to ask if it would come with mustard and capers. We also asked if any toasts were served with it. She said that toasts yes, but not capers and mustard. We asked if it would be possible to have those on a side, and she said that she thought so and would just confirm this for us. A couple of minutes later she comes back saying that was sorry but they didn t have any capers and asked if we still wanted to order the dish only with the mustard and toasts. We agreed. Right after this guy comes to our table and says in an arrogant tune that s not how they eat carpaccio in Italy. We were surprised by how he approached us and we even felt intimidated by his tone. As he standed by our table talking about how food is eaten in Italy, I briefly spoke with my friend and we agreed to place the order as we just wanted to end the discussion and have a conversation and enjoy ourselves. The carpaccio came and besides the fact that it didn t feel very appealing, the server didn t bring any toasts. So I kindly asked her for them, imagining that she was just going to bring them still - but no. She said that there were no toasts for the carpaccio. So I kindly reminded her that I had specifically asked for those and she had said yes. She then said that would see if she could get some for us. Well, if there were no capers, no mustard and not even toasts for the carpaccio, I would definitely refused to place the order. She then went inside and a few more minutes she comes back with them. Ok, we then proceeded to eat the carpaccio imagining that it would somehow taste amazing as the guy promised and despite the fact that it was basically just raw meat with salt and pepper. We were still eating when the guy comes back again. He then says something like you see, this is how we eat carpaccio in Italy. Not with capers, mustard or anything else. It s great right?! . I then kept myself salient but my friend was too embarrassed and wanting to avoid any conflict and said timidly yes, it s good . He then proceed to remove our glasses and I still had some wine there When we asked for the bill, I asked the server who was that guy and she said that he was one of the owners. Shocking! I am someone who eats at least one meal a day outside home. I always like to give good reviews for my friends and family. I know how restaurants have suffered due to the pandemic and I guess that eating out everyday and giving good recommendations it s a good way to incentive the industry. However, I am not stupid or much less like to be treated like one just because I don t have the same nationality of that person. That s how I felt the situation was about. If I had a restaurant I would never treat a client in such a way just because they are asking for extra ingredients that are also very common to be used with a dish that I am serving. I don t cook everyday, but in my house I always have mustard. Which restaurant doesn t have mustard?!
One of the absolute best meals weve had dining out in a long time. This was our first visit and we couldnt have been more impressed. Delicious fresh & tasty food. Welcoming great service. Nice atmosphere. We even love the little added touch with the celebrity menus! An unexpected treat. We very much look forward to returning.
Wow.!!! Fantastic food and service. Highly recommended.
Great Food! Great Service. Michael (our server) was amazing - made us laugh and was amazing with all the customers around us too!!! We will be back! Parking: Street parking or paid lot down the street.
Just solid comforting Italian food.
Absolutely the most rude and unprofessional management - ruined our family birthday dinner. We asked to move tables because the air conditioning was too high and instead got attitude that we were in the wrong. Nice waitress, her manager could take a lesson from her.
Buca di Bacco is a gem! Authentic Italian flavors transported us to Italy. The pasta was perfectly al dente, and the seafood dishes were exquisite. Friendly Owner and staff. A must-visit for anyone craving a taste of Italy. Great wine list!
We chose this restaurant based on the positive Google reviews. When we arrived, it appeared that there was only one server for the entire floor. This led to a long wait before our order was taken. Once our server arrived, we placed our order and requested coffee and tea to start. The server had forgotten the creamer and sugar, and when I asked for this plus the appetizer (bread) we had ordered, he responded this isn t McDonald s, things are slower here . This took me by surprise as nothing warranted this type of response. After waiting more than 1 hour, our main course finally arrived. Out of the two entrees we ordered, one had burnt mushrooms, and one had burnt chicken. Kind of tasted like you were chewing plastic. Unfortunately, after the comment made earlier and the long wait period, we didn t send our dishes back. This was NOT a pleasant experience and the food was subpar. I would not recommend this restaurant- you can definitely find better in the area. We dined at the restaurant on Oct 11,2023.
What a horrible experience. I was celebrating my birthday with my two sons, one of whom lives out of province. We were seated next to a very large, loud party and couldnt hear each other. I asked if we could be seated elsewhere but they said it simply wasnt possible. For the rest of the evening, I sat staring at an empty table far from the large, loud party while we had to yell and constantly repeat ourselves. It was anything but enjoyable. I asked a question when I was ordering but the waitress clearly didnt hear what I said because she brought the wrong thing. It was so loud I didnt have the energy to shout about the misunderstanding. I spent over $250. and instead of having a nice night with my sons, I ended up with a sore throat and a headache. Never again.
A lively vibrant restaurant, yet cozy and friendly place to dine in. The ambience is fabulous, with the right lighting and layout. Food is very tasty, with balanced ingredients. The service team is quick and courteous. It is a restaurant to go to frequently.
Amazing food, good vibe, great service. Its just noisy, toooo noisy!
I was just at this establishment and had a meal wherein the pasta was undercooked and the pizza was burnt. I waited patiently to have the meal recooked. Having waited for my meal for 40 minutes, there was no acknowledgment from the owner as to the inconvenience. I asked to speak to the owner and instead of taking the feedback graciously, he was confrontational and laid blame on others rather than just a simple acknowledgment that it wasn t up to the standard this establishment maintains. It s really disheartening to go somewhere in downtown Oakville, where there is a certain quality. I recognize there are many great reviews, but the human interaction and ensuring your paying customers feel important and not a burden (which is how I felt) is really key. Here the food was the issue. Accountability should have been taken and at the very least an acknowledgment should have been given
We decided to dine into this restaurant as a party of 6 to celebrate a very auspicious occasion. The cocktails here packed zero flavour and were an absolute let down after paying 15 bucks for what was water with blue food colouring. The food however was fresh and was made to order. There could have been improvements to the dinner but overall we had a good experience.
absolutely amazing food, the food came out fast, and the server was great, and extremely friendly. Made a great first date
It was our first time here, and we will be back for sure! We had the Bruschetta 2 ways and ceasar salad to start. I could have sat there and just ate the Bruschetta all day. For the main course, I had the Risotto Funghi, and he had the Penne Diavola, both hits for us! Sorry, there are no photos as we were in the moment enjoying it all. Dont listen to these 1 star haters and give it a try, you wont be disappointed.
Horrible, disrespectful, rude, arrogant customer service ever!! The server spilled food on my Canada goose, ruined my entire jacket, and DID NOT EVEN APOLOGIZE!!! The owner/manager that was on duty also could not care less about their servers conduct. When I asked for apology, they ranted and shouted at me when there were other customers around. They asked me to pay the bill and leave. I almost had to call cops. Their food was also very bland and tasted bad. None of the food was worth the price they charged.
Bern here several times, amazing place for dinner. We had the rabbit this time around, and it was cooked perfectly.
A month after eating here, I still feel awful about the treatment we received. Hi, we have a 7:30 reservation, I said to the manager/owner upon arrival. Well that doesnt help me, what name is it under? That was my first interaction with this person who went on to dismiss our poor experience later that night. Our pizzas were overcooked and our pasta was undercooked. We waited an additional 40 minutes to receive new orders. At this point, it was 9pm. My friend was 6 months pregnant. The manager/owner brought our new entrees over with no apology or acknowledgement of the error. When we pointed this out to him at the end of the night, he became extremely defensive, blamed the error on the kitchen and our server, and took no accountability. Its disheartening to read other negative reviews from racialized people, who suspect that race played a part in their mistreatment. As three women of colour, we also felt that had a role to play in his disrespectful attitude toward us.
Visited in this past month. The food was terrible, the portions were silly and the wait was insane. My friend has lipstick on her glass, the rappini was so salty you literally couldnt eat it. The arugula salad was about a handful of greens - with little to nothing in it - no flavour and the chicken breast added was so thin and small portioned they must be slicing them in half. The bolognaise was something tasting out of a sauce bottle and the carpaccio was definitely not good. The wait time for the food was about 45min, there seems to be only 1 wine list, so make a decision quick or they take it away and may bring it back.. we were celebrating a birthday so it was extremely disappointing. There are 5-6 people coming by the table and its inconsistent. Felt like the organization for front and back of the house was very messy & chaotic. The best part of the evening was the guitarist :) He was amazing! I do not recommend for authentic or delicious Italian food in any way. There are many other places to go that are worth the money that have great service and atmosphere.
So so good :) this is one of those places you really want to go to and bring your family and friends to enjoy your evening dining experience I would highly recommend . Your wife will be impressed. Your children will want to come back. Cheers. Vegetarian options: It s Italian yes, Dietary restrictions: Your stomach will be happy with you. Parking: Plenty of parking Kid-friendliness: Kid, friendly respectable atmosphere. Wheelchair accessibility: They do have wheelchair access and the staff is helpful.
Good service. Very traditional and tasty food
Always a pleasure. Great authentic food, great cozy atmosphere.
Ordered pizza for takeout. We have always enjoyed the pizza, but this one was dry and overcooked. It was pretty awful for what they charged. Now that I have read several reviews about lack of masks on staff and other comments about the staff I will not be supporting this restaurant again.
Our server was kind and attentive. The food was just okay. My husband s chicken roulade was definitely overdone , but besides that there was nothing particularly wrong, but also nothing that special. We often go to 7 Enoteca, Piano Piano, Cucci, and a few others. This is a bit of a step down from those, but also fine for the average dinner out.
Had a very nice Valentines Day dinner here! Our server was very knowledgeable and steered us in the right direction. The specials were quite delicious and the portions were HUGE. Reasonably priced wines available too. We will be back... grazie!
Amazing food and great service I can only say fantasticcccccccc This is what real food is about I do recommend this Amazing restaurant if I give you 10 stars I would thank you again keep up the great job
Romantic. Intimate. Loved the pizza and tiramisu! Highly recommend.
The food was outstanding and the experience was fantastic. Jay was the best; almost as awesome as the specials. Forget the menu and go for the specials. Burrata, stew rabbit and mushroom ravioli. Topped off with canolis. Please support these local restaurants. They are a jewel to be preserved!
We had our engagement party here as a private event - I cannot say enough good things about this establishment. The food - the staff - the cleanliness the quality was absolutely amazing . Anthony was more than accommodating & was there for me for every detail. I cannot thank them enough for their hospitality & outstanding quality of food . My guests have been raving ever since / they will definitely be return customers . This was the place my now fiancé took me on our first date so it is absolutely a special place & will remain so for all our future events !
Got chicken breaded. It wasnt even breeding it was a hard shell that was over done and burned. Wish I could send a sound clip as it was like knocking on a door
BUCA DI BACCO!!! (fingers to mouth-kiss and release it to the air like the Italians do!) Mama Mia! What Service we got on March 12th! . We reserved our table for 10 with Anthony -under the HOT MAMAS-Dont even ask...just go with it OKAY! . From the start of our reservation to the end of our meal-I was impressed and may I just add-This was everyones first time at the restaurant. We had a DIY workshop just down the street and we figured Buca Di Bacco was so close by-with great reviews ...why not give them a try. . Well, I am so thankful we did. Jason was our host and also our entertainment for the night! -the guy was funny. Made us feel comfortable and also like Family-very easy going but also attentive to our table-Did an amazing job with ensuring we were taken care of. When we arrived the restaurant had maybe four other customers BUT no word of a lie 20 minutes later, the place was packed! . We started off with 3 different appetizers- the Meat Balls ( Tasted so fresh-as if Nona was in the kitchen-delicious), the Arancini Balls were killer good-with that cheesy filled center that just makes you want to scream from how good it is, and the Calamari was amazing! Perfectly cooked. . For my meal, I ordered the Chicken Marsala (which I was craving for all week) and let me just say how satisfying the meal was! The chicken was tender and just cooked perfectly- and the sauce was just perfection- not too much or too little- it was every bit of heaven for me. Im just salivating thinking of it. The portion size is Generous-I would be shocked if you had room for dessert. . I also had a Bocci Ball Cocktail. I found it refreshing and smooth. Its main ingredients are Amaretto with Orange -I recommend this drink if you do not enjoy the taste of actual alcohol! (as myself). . I included some dishes from this night which I also received good feedback about. I have to say I really enjoyed this restaurant. I will be back with new customers so they too can experience the Buca Familia food! Thank You for hosting my pre-birthday dinner and making our night a memorable one! Grazie
Calm down lady this isnt a rally Buca DI Baccoooooooo!!!
Terrific ambiance Highly recommend the food
Extraordinary restaurant. The food, wine, staff and ambience are awesome. Highly recommended.
The food and service were great
The staff is so kind- April and bob rock!
Extremely hyped up doesn t deserve 4+ rating. I was very impressed with the reviews and went to try this place purely based on Google reviews .the apps ( tried burrata and Arancini ) were decent but the mains were below average. Picante pizza was extremely salty and the gnocci felt too dry and chewy If you are really in the mood for good Italian food and want to find something good in the neighbourhood then try il fornello or tratoria timone restaurante
Appetizers were good (not great) and service was good. However, the food was largely average and there are several better Italian restaurants in and around Oakville.
The food and staff where amazing, will definitely be going back again.
This place is fantastic, excellent menu. The best cavatelli Ive had ever. Great house wine dessert and coffee. The atmosphere is great, Olivia and the staff are very nice.
I ordered Cavatelli, a house red wine, and chocolate Gelato the food and the red wine was great. For dessert I ordered salt chocolate Gelato, which amazingly super yummy (recommended)! The staffs very friendly, but one, he seems in a hurry when he was taking the order and giving the bill. But overall, its a good place to go for dinner.
I absolutely love this place. I have been twice and everything we have order has been 10/10. Check out the carpaccio, tortellini, rigatoni vodka, and patata pizza for sure! Also the staff is incredible. The restaurant has a family feel. Loved it.
Amazing food and service!!! We had the arancini, meatballs, calamari and margherita pizza to start and I had the pasta special (cheese cannelloni in a rose sauce). Everything was so good, highly recommend
Best Italian in Oakville
Such a delicious hidden gem! The food was fantastic, and our server Rick was amazing! Attentive, informative, friendly! I would come back here again and again. Delicious!
First time trying this restaurant, a little disappointed with the service, this is an Italian restaurant, I m surprised we were not offered bread at the table. The meal was very good, we ordered the Veal Chop, however once our plates were cleared the waitress came by with the bill, she did not ask if we would like coffee or dessert, somehow I don t find that very inviting, eat and go ,I felt like I was been rushed out, to bad , I won t go back nor will I recommend.
Best italian restaurant to be with friends and family. It has amazing ambience. I tried their Prosciutto pizza and it tasted delicious. I am gonna go back there for this specially. Moreover, our server Liz was amazing.
This place was absolutely amazing. I went there with my family and had that cosy vibe over there. I had there Spaghetti Bolognese and it was beyond amazing. My server was Liz and she was the best.
Let s start with the fact that I don t have a history of leaving bad reviews. I was raised to believe that if you have nothing good to say don t say anything!! PI was Very DISAPPOINTED. For a high end restaurant I expected more. Pros: Taste was good and service was good. Cons: No offering of complimentary bread & vinaigrette for dipping ( a norm at many restaurants ) Portions size (left hungry) $16 dollars for 2 bottles of Still Water Really???(this should be complimentary) I d hate to see what they charge for a pop!! What this review boils down to is expect to pay A LOT and make sure you have a snack before you go !!! Just received a call from the owner. Boy didn t expect that attack!! He asked why I only gave him a 1 star review, so I reiterated what i had written . I thought the point of the review was to express an opinion on the business in question. That is all I did. He had the nerve to ask if I d ever eaten at a restaurant in Downtown Oakville I felt insulted, but hey that s just my opinion.
My husband and I came in on Wednesday for our anniversary dinner, and had the greatest experience here. Weve heard talk about this restaurant for a while now and have been meaning to try it for some time, we came in with high hopes and left very impressed. The patio is perfect for a summer evening dinner, plus the food and the service were amazing, we will definitely be coming back. The food was great; we had the risotto and the veal parmigiana, both 10/10 dishes. Great wine options and the bread pudding is a must try. Our waitress Miarose made our evening very special, she was hilarious and was helpful about dinner choices. We thank the chefs as well for a special evening, we left very satisfied, a must try in downtown Oakville.
Wonderful Italian restaurant in beautiful Oakville
Its been sometime since ive thoroughly enjoyed a great seafood pasta! Delish! Husband had the osso bucco which he finished in record time, without offering me a bite, so that tells me it was great. The tiramisu felt slightly on the drier/cakier side, but great flavours. The patio is lovely, on a quieter street than Lakeshore. Service was good too! Im kinda glad we chose to go here than Sotto Sotto..
Great food / fabulous atmosphere- but - best of all is the staff who are knowledge of what is being served and happy to make recommendations- we look forward to returning.
Delicious food, excellent, friendly service. A wonderful dining experience.
Albert James was the best waiter in LA! Very knowledgeable about the menu and suggested a very tasty meal!! We will definitely be going back because of Albert James!!!!!
Amazing food. Great ambiance. Wonderful staff. Portions were excellent
Fantastic food and drinks friendly staff and a nice clean environment I will definitely be coming back here at any given opportunity
Bad customer service!
Omg so goooood no other words needed
Great spot for a nice date night. We had a bunch of appetizers knowing that anything we ordered would taste incredible. Very reasonably priced as well. The taste is impeccable. Would definitely be back again and again.
Great place. Chill atmosphere, classic jazz playing. Food was delicious and generous servings. Staff was friendly and attentive. Specials were top notch. Anthony took care of us like we were famiglia! He guided us through the menu for the first time visitors. Angela was very helpful and friendly. Will definitely go back and it will be added as a regular place to visit.
my favorite Italian spot
Amazing food and great portions!
Appetizers were great - wine was great - however the gnocchi was a big disappointment - big bowl of tasteless mush . Disappointed in the service overall, and lack of initiative to address my dissatisfaction with that one dish. Will not be going back.
It was our first, but not the last experience! The food was so delicious and the service was excellent, special thanks to Olivia!
Great food, service and ambiance!
My wife had tried it first and loved it so much that we had gone a week later with another couple and Wow she was right, the chef knows what he is doing in the kitchen. Never had homemade Gnocci as good as what we had. Chicken Marsala which is one of my dishes I prepare at home, I need to up my game now after trying theres. Tiramisu awesome and the Service was great and a great culinary experience. 7 stars
While the food was decent, many servers were anti vax and made me feel very uncomfortable. They were bragging loudly about their freedom t shirts from anti vax rallies. Used to really love this place.
Really appreciate this place! Great experience all around! Would definitely come back again! Lovely to have a meal indoors without any discrimination, also!
I love this place and its theme. Meals are delicious, Ill be coming back for sure. The restaurant owner and servers are cool and friendly. :)
Tina the manager is an extraordinary person and I wouldnt be comfortable with anyone else serving our table. The food is top quality Italian cuisine. Make sure you come and ask for Tina to get quality service for your table.
Excellent food.
The food is delicious. Friendly staff
A lovely atmosphere and terrific food! Went for dinner with my family of four and we all loved it. Was thrilled with gluten free pasta options as well. Our server Mike was awesome - he was very attentive and gave great recommendations for everything. Delicious food, cozy, and not overly formal - I highly recommend for a trendy date night or dinner with friends / family. We will absolutely be back!
Best Italian restaurant in all of Oakville. It is fine dining and well worthwhile. Highly recommend visiting.
We had a private engagement party. The staff and owners catered to our every need from the menu to the décor of the restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious and large portions. We have such beautiful memories thanks to Buca Di Bacco restaurant! A special thank you to Vince for all the preparation in helping us make this engagement so special!
What a pleasant delight. Was taken here by some close friends that had been meaning to try the restaurant for a while. Something called Covid got in the way of that plan until now. The restaurant is quaint and was not filled to capacity cuz of covid restrictions still in place. Jason was in charge of our service for the evening and he was wonderful. He was engaging, fun, prompt and informative. The food was really superb. We enjoyed the Bruschetta to start was done creatively and hit the spot. We added the Carpaccio which was very delicately sliced and presented with a hint of arugula. For the mains we chose the Veal Chop/Tortellini/Branzino which are depicted here however this only does it 50% justice. The taste was definitely delicious across the board and makes up the other 50%. We all agreed that Buca Di Bacco will definitely be added to our circulation of restaurants. We ll done!
Food was great, no question, but it was very loud, the floor manager was frantic and we felt rushed.
Great food
Italian fine dining for sure. If you enjoy a nice relaxing good night meal, this is the place to go. Pricey but worth it for sure. We almost tried every dish and really impressive how every thing we ordered tasted amazing. Good service and cozy atmosphere. Hard to get a reservation as they get fully booked weeks in advance but will go back for sure.
Great food and excellent service!
Tasty food amazing service.... people are nice too
Great atmosphere and their food was delicious. I loved the gnocchi
