Kenzo Ramen Oakville in Oakville

This was my first time trying this establishment. I had the spicy orochong ramen with sliced chicken. It was light on the chicken but heavy on the salt. The noodles and the veggies were good. I dont know that I would get this bowl again if this is the amount of chicken that comes with it (maybe 5-6 thin slices - basically what you can see from the picture is the chicken that was in it). The inside is probably due for a bit of a facelift. Its old and everything is sticky. Overall I think the place has potential and Ill try something different next time. It wasnt too expensive - $16 for my bowl. Hopefully whatever I try next time isnt and salty as this bowl was.

I understand there is a pandemic. But the price is high and serving just gets less and less. Even asked me if I needed cutlery. I said yes. After spending close to $140. There was no cutlery in the bag. Maybe an honest mistake. but it was disappointing. We were regulars there before the pandemic even if the price is a bit high. Update 2024. Went back and food was good but serving got even smaller for the price. It was a more healthier option. But value wise I most likely wont return.

Gave this place a try. My friend had this ramen which is so salty feels like its a mix rather than an actual broth. Had the tonkatsu curry which was served with lumps and a bit cold. Pork cutlet is hard as well as if it was just re-fried all over. For the price, not worth it.

The dumplings here are delicious and largest in size Ive found in the GTA. The ramen is also great. Highly recommend.

The food lacks flavour. The egg was supposed to be marinated it wasn t. The pork had no flavour at all. Disappointed. Will not be returning.

Quaint little gem of a place with delicious menu ! The staff are very friendly and helpful to explain the menu. We will be back to try different items. The only thing I would have appreciated is smaller portions for kiddos who don t want to eat a full adult size plate and don t want to share.

The food is delicious, very fresh, but the best of all is the service, the attention is always accompanied by a smile. The location is ideal and the menu varied. super recommended!

Vegetarian options: For 1.50 they give 1/2 an egg For extra money they give a tablespoon of corn For extra money you get 4-5 small pieces of tofu. You get WAY more noodles than veggies and the xtra $ not worth it. Wont be ordering from there again

We Come here at least twice a month!! We love the taste of the ramen BUT unfortunately the service is so bad, it wasnt that bad when I used to see the owner around! But right now they dont care... Food is late never at the same time for the whole table, ramen sometimes is hot other times is warm and the worst part is that it depends on who is serving the amount you get! In good days you get a lot of soup, other days like today it was literally the smallest amount of soup I have ever received in a ramen place I visited. Is sad because we used to love this place, but after today we totally decided to look for another one. Ohh an also they have this Japanese cheesecake, we wanted to try but no one came to our table after finishing our meal (not ever 30 min after finishing) is impossible to order something else.

My wife had dietary constraints and the staff took the time to offer options and were very accommodating. One of my favorite places to go for Ramen!

Ive loved Kenzo Ramen since before they came to Oakville. Happy to say their quality is still top-notch and I now have a location closer to home. Definitely recommended.

I have been to this spot multiple times, the food here is absolutely delicious and the staff are wonderful!! I highly recommend coming here and trying the King Shoyu and King of Kings Ramen! My only complaint is the eccentric store hours and it can get busy during rush hour times.

Meh. I love ramen and unfortunately this is the only option in Oakville. The ramen is barely ok, the gyosas a bit greasy. The breaded pork feels just out of the freezer, rice is bland. The lack of care just seems to be part of the experience, from the plates to the music to the washrooms. If you are determined to get ramen it does the job (barely) but if you drive to the Burhamthorpe location in M/auga and don t mind waiting for a table, the food is way better.

The donkatsu ramen is too garlic-y. The shoyu ramen was heavy on the soy sauce flavour. The service staff was nice!

Pricey + might not be worth it for vegetarians: I would say that this place isnt the best for vegetarians because there arent many options. They charge you the same price as the items with meat, but dont allow for substitutions for tofu instead of the meat. I got a spicy ramen dish and found the soup to be tasty, but there werent enough veggies in there, which I found frustrating, considering I paid for a meat dish, got no tofu as a substitution with limited veggies. The service wasnt the best either.

The spicy charsu ramen is very good, the portion size is a bit disappointing. For the price you should get more. Kenzo is definitely better than kinton ramen

Best Kendo Ramen I ever went. Foods were good and service is okay.

Recent visit was amazing. It was a snowy night. The waitress welcomed us and guided us to choose a seat. We did and as soon as she was finished serving the customer, she came to take our order. It was quick with our order and the food was very delicious.

Orochong Ramen Pork was ideally spicey and tasty. Good customer service !

No doubt the quality of the ramen is one of the best in town especially the three levels spicy Chai Siu ramen, recommend for level two as it will sure warm you up in winter. One thing as a recommendation is to improve the air circulation within the restaurant, I smell like I have all the take out after I got home and keep searching for it..

You guys make great ramen but your oakville hours are utter trash. Randomly closed on certain days, opens late closes early. Everytime i have a minute to go get something theyre never open so i officially give up. Theres plenty of competition offerings in the area with much better hours.

Hand pulled noodles... Love it!

Called to make sure they have vegan dishes, specifically asked for vegan noodles and they said yes, noodles are not a problem. Waited 50min in line to be seated, once seated they said they have only egg noodles, we had to leave as they had no substitutions.

Whatever the relationship this has to the excellent location that was near Square One in Mississauga, lower your expectations significantly. My water glass wasnt properly cleaned, and still had lip smudges from the previous owner. I politely pointed this out and requested another, only to be brought the same dirty glass. The 2/3 of the gyoza had pink, raw ground meat centers to them. My wifes pork based ramen broth tasted fishy for no discernable reason. We had such high hopes, only to be met with all of this...

Food wise, Kenzo never disappoints. The service here was lacking something to be desired however. The servers seemed uninterested in doing their jobs, which points to poor management. Our mains showed up before the apps did, and we had to ask for cutlery and water. They were busy right after we arrived but I have seen other busier locations do a better job.

Busy, small Korean run Ramen restaurant with a good variety of ramen flavors with small portions. The food: The Tonkotsu ramen I got was nicely flavored, the noodles were perfectly cooked. Toppings were on the skimpish side considering the price point. Portions were also way off for the price point as well. My 5 year old was able to finish the regular size ramen, so you can imagine it not being enough for an adult. The bowls look regular sized but are shallow so doesnt hold much. The atmosphere: The restaurant was clean, open and nicely decorated with art. The restaurant was busy on Saturday for lunch and was lively. The service: Nothing fancy, after the food was served I dont think the server came back at all. If you want to spend $20 on a bowl of ramen this is the place for you. I know inflation is raising the prices for everything but that seems like a little too much for the amount of food that youre getting.

Absolutely love this place! A friend of mine brought me here one time blindly and I ve introduced many people since then! I usually get the salmon onigiri, gyoza (which is the best I ve ever had, anywhere!) and the tonkatzu ramen and it s unreal!

If youre going for Ramen, youre going to Kenzo. Not only is the food amazing, but the staff is insanely attentive and nice. Go get Ramen from Kenzo, go, now.

Brought my youngest son on Sunday, March 12, 2022. The food was amazing as usual. We both had the Tonkotsu King. We also ordered Karaage(Japanese fried chicken). Vegetarian options: I dont know much about the vegetarian options, but they havecthe usual tofu dishes, but it is a restaurant based on Podk broth so I wouldnt expect a wide selection of veg dishes.

Our favorite Oakville ramen and we enjoy the other dishes too. Service is always meh (not super friendly or attentive) but we overlook it because its the only place we can go for decent ramen.

Insanely spicy (level 1 of 7 had me wrecked), but excellent food otherwise. Would have appreciated if the server warned me of the spice level.

Nice ramen place. Their spicy ramen bowls are delicious. But try it at your own risk. They also provide chilli sauce on the side if you want to spice up your ramen after it arrives on the table. Good vegetarian options and the ramen comes with a lot of vegetables to make it a hearty enjoyable mean

Among the best places to have ramen in Oakville. The quality of food is excellent. You will have to wait for about 10 minutes before being seated if you arrive at the peak dinner time starting 7:00 pm. Also the orders takes time to be served. Some orders with a price change might not reflect the photo in the menu. Ask about the portion of appetizers and don t take the photo for granted.

Best Miso ramen we tried so far, also they have a nice appetizer menu.

Decent spot, nice to have ramen available in the area. Had the Tomkotsu King, enjoyed it, would spice it up if I had it again . Staff is friendly but a bit more inattentive than I am used too, this could be purposefully and enjoyable for others. The creamy pork bone broth is tasty and mild enough for kids. Value is fair. Parking: Lots of parking in the south west lot

Went in May 2023. Absolutely delicious spicy char-su ramen and the staff were attentive in alerting the spiciness of the item and generous with substituting food options. Also tried the food the rest of my group had and the broth was not excessively oily or salty compared to some other ramen restaurants. Pricing was reasonable in this day and age of inflation. Vibes were nice and has a lot of interesting artwork. Customers continued to roll in even during minutes upon closing time. I would recommend more to come to this place, as we will be back in the future!

Only ramen variety in Oakville! An absolute must try, Spicy Charsu is my recommendation. (Must be able to handle heat)

Really slow service! We dropped by for a fast dinner. There were only two server taking care of everything. It supposed to be a fast food restaurant but we spent an hour on the Ramon. From sitting, ordering, to getting to food, I had to keep asking for the meal and everything. For the restaurant: never left your customers hang out to dry.

Too slow. Ramen soup tastes like instant noodle soup. Ramen portion too small. Pork tastes plain and fishy.

A relatively authentic Japanese ramen restaurant in Oakville. The owner seems to be Japanese. The ramen tastes good, the soup is delicious, and they also provide fried dumplings, fried chicken and other snacks. Parking: There are quite a lot of parking spaces, which is convenient for parking.

This place is so delicious. Best ramen place I ve been to and I ve been to too many to count. This vegetarian one was the best one I ve had, I ve had it who knows how many times and I keep coming back. Staff is super friendly, place is super clean, love coming here with my fam.

Mood of restaurant was awful and food was terrible. I ate tonkatsu that was terrible. Food Portion was so small so I thought that was kids Manu. Vegi was not fresh at all and rice was harden. And even pricey of food. Staff didnt even say hello or good bye either. I felt waste of my time and money.

Probably the worst Ive had a restaurant, period. It was a Sunday night and I waited 55 minutes! for 2 bowls of ramen and an app and when I asked what was going on with my food they couldnt give me a straight answer. I ended up leaving with an empty stomach. This restaurant doesnt even deserve a 1 star review because I tried nothing but this was the only way I could save others from a piss poor experience.

Great Ramen place in Oakville. I like the variety of options they have on the menu that includes vegetarian. I tried spicy level 3 when I was there. It was not bad at all. It was very spicy, but i will try level 4 next time. Vegetarian options: Some dishes are available in the vegetarian option !

Went to this location to do take out. Door is stuck from opening, almost thought they were closed. Smokey when entering. Ordered ramen. Got home to see this stingy amount of broth served as seen in the picture. $16 pre-tax premium priced noodles. The one in mississauga or even kinton doesnt serve this conservative. If you want ramen, Avoid this place and go elsewhere. If you dont know better, visit this place.

Their ramen soup is just miso+water

Good food but slow service. Our order was taken in a usual amount of time and didn t have to wait long for food. But once we finished it took a long time for someone to ask how we were doing. They didn t take our bowls and we had flag down our waitress after ages for the bill. They seem to clear plate after you pay and leave. Strange, shame about the service but good noodles. .

Had to ask for menus. The waiters seem absent minded. Found plastic in my bowl. Sent it back only to have them ask me if I wanted to continue eating it as it was only one piece of plastic. NO thanks. Did you fish through my bowl to know its only one piece of plastic in my bowl? Its been stewing in there...boiled plastic..yum. very unprofessional! Waiters stand around as you have to yell for service. Owner seems to not care at all. On his cell phone mainly. The food tasted decent but due to such horrible service we are not going back. Oakville still lacks any great places to eat. We need to travel to mississauga for better food.

We were there years ago, and just revisited last weekend. Good to see they still maintain the quality and authenticity of Japanese food, with reasonable prices, something rare these days, as everyone raises prices. I did notice some smoke from the kitchen. So, maybe just need to improve ventilation?

my favourite place, my friends and i make it a point to come at least once a month. food is consistent and always fantastic. i ve seen a lot of reviews on here about wait times and i ve literally never had that issue no matter what time of day i ve gone, they re always quick and polite. also such a nice vibe, especially in the winter when it s dark outside.

Easily, the best ramen place around. Way better than Kinton ramen and mystic ramen in hamilton. I always make the drive out to oakville just to eat here. Dont listen to these people complaining about service. They have like 2 servers on shifts. If you come at a peak time and are too afraid to ask for service, thats a YOU problem. If youre looking for good authentic japanese ramen; this is one of the best.

This has to be one of the worst Kenzo ramen shops the servers were the only nice part of my experience. the kitchen outright refused to adjust my ramen. I have never had a problem with this from class at any other Ramen shop. It s equivalent of asking for your noodles to be al dente. I just prefer not to have overcooked noodles. So to the server thank you but the kitchen done you bad. Thanks for trying.

This is our second visit in the recent past because its so much better than it was a few years ago! Everything weve chosen on the menu so far has been great - tasty, delicious, and totally reasonably priced considering what you pay for a mediocre burger and fries at a big box chain. Tucked away in the perfect little spot that while not the closest for us, avoids the madness of Mississauga. Well be back for sure!

Great food! Very friendly staff. The aburi charsu was melt in your mouth good. It was the best thing we ate. We also had the tonkatsu ramen, pork soboro don, pork katsu don and the sopporo miso ramen. The broth was delicious and the portions are big. The Japanese cheesecake was really good as well. The only thing we didnt enjoy as much, was the salmon onigiri. Definitely a place to return to. Edit: server today was pretty unfriendly. Brought out our appetizers after the main dishes. Food is still the best.

Place looks nice, small but cozy. Plenty of parking. Staffs are friendly. Service can be a bit slow. Taste isn t too great compared to other branches. Broth isn t too rich, It seems they ve been boiled fast at high heat instead of low and longer boil. Noodle is t to flavourful as well.

Ive been to both Torontos Momofuku noodle bar and Kenzo Ramen, and was surprised to find that Kenzos ramen was better than Momofukus. Ive been at Kenzos a couple of times and everything Ive eaten is delicious. There are a lot of different ramen options, so Im going back!

Update: Reducing by one star. They need to rename to KenSLOW ramen. Took 30 minutes to produce a bowl yesterday during an non busy time. Also witnessed a careless waitress slosh hot broth onto a customer and despite the profuse apologies, didnt even offer them anything to compensate. Previous review: I like that compared to their Mississauga location, this one is roomier and less crowded. The wait staff was very attentive. The kitchen is in the back instead of being showcased up front and so the ambiance is much quieter. I ordered their spicy ramen and chicken karagi. Portions where generous, but it seemed different in flavor than their other location. I would assume that they use the same recipe for broth, but somehow, it wasnt what I expected. Couldve just been an off day. Will visit again to check out their other ramen basis to see and will update this review if Im corrected.

I dont understand how a business can survive being open one day a week on Thursdays this makes no sense. Your guyss hours were ridiculous before being closed Monday Tuesday Wednesday but this is insane. Your ramen is amazing and its always well cooked even take out is great but come on guys... You got to do better.

Great place for ramen!

It s the only Kenzo Ramen I know in Oakville and it s horrible. The broth is not flavourful taste watery and lacking taste, amounts of broth given are absolutely hilarious looked like the souse for my noodles didn t even cover them fully! The noodles are also not tasty at all just in all around terrible takeout experience every time! We go to a place in Mississauga kamen ramen it s absolutely amazing and worth the drive!!! When calling to complain they basically said ok yea we ll take your name and credit you extra broth like are you a joke?!? Don t go here if you want good food or service ! Awesome Ramen place! Came to across town to visit Bronte creek provincial park and we end up finding this awesome ranmen place. If anyone coming by, I highly recommend this place!

Delicious. Usually have to wait about five-ten minutes; but its not a place you spend a lot of time eating. So its quick and so very good.

We used to go to this restaurant before pandemic. Food was excellent before. Now the food taste different. We got spicy charsiu ramen and the noodle like store bought ramen. The soup also blend. Charsiu was hard and not tasty, taste just like boiled meat. Vegetable only cabage and bean sprouts. for $17.00 +tax per bowl, the portion is very less. Not impressed.

We ordered Spicy Charshu Ramen and Yakisoba along with Karaage and all the things were amazing. Taste, texture and plating were also very good. Even the staff is very humble and courteous. Definitely worth another visit soon.

Great restaurant if you are not familiar with Japanese food and you havent tried it . 6.5 to 7 if youre familiar with it and you had tried the real deal.

Food is good here but the service is awful. We have been seated there for 15mins with no water or menu. The restaurant was not that busy but the waiter still found no time to take care of us. I have been to this restaurant for 2 times and they forgot my order EVERYTIME! I was seating there still when all my friends had finished their food. No one checked on me until I asked the waitress where was my order. She has to double check and found out my order was missed AGAIN!

Parking: On a plaza with plenty of parking spot

Passing grade and that s about it. The broth based soup just wasn t fatty or homey enough in comparison to all the other ramen I ve had. Decent portion and prices, but nothing out of the ordinary. Egg was not a marinated, just a simple boiled egg, and they were pretty light on the toppings. Asked for an extra an egg and it was left out from my bowl, but wasn t left out of my bill. Overall, not terrible, but I m not dying to come back.

Its a small place in a great location. Food was tasty and prices arent bad but service took way too long just for some Ramen! I think I wanted about 40 minutes . Place was pretty full and it seems they had a lot of take out orders which they seem to be more focused on. If they improve the service speed, it would be a really nice place to grab some warm Ramen

I am giving it 5 starts because of the food and one young fellow who worked there and did his best to give us great service. Another fellow who worked there didnt seem to want to be there. But in the end, the food prevailled! And always delicious!

We ordered the tonkatsu king ramen and the broth was blend beyond belief. The broth is clearly watered-down from the manufacturer . Typically the chain ramen places order large cans of pre-made soup from suppliers, so the flavour is not comparable to the authentic ramen places. But to further water down the soup base makes it worse. We told the waiters about the tasteless soup, and nothing was done about it ( owner or chef did not do or say anything). My family and I have been long term customers at this spot but will never go back again. We will only stick to authentic places who actually care about their quality and customers.

The food is very good - plenty of options to choose from on the menu. I had ordered take out and it was a bit slower than anticipated, but more or less in line with the time committed. Their King of Kings is superb, and you cant go wrong with the Tontaksu as well.

Dont bother..its likely closed.. seems like its always closed. Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, etc.. who knows when its open...save your time and just presume its closed and go elsewhere.

Awesome Noodles and Soup! The ingredients, food and taste of the broth hit all the flavor spots. This place is worth trying out if you are a fan of ramen. If you do want to visit this place please plan your day and be prepared for a long wait. The service is excruciatingly slow! It took us upwards of 50 mins to get just two soups delivered to our table.

The food taste like sadness. Completely ruined my day. In the chicken egg rice, the chicken taste like pre cooked and sit there for long hours, and the egg is overcooked, which is supposed to be running liquid. The meat in ramen is not pork belly, but a more tastless part of the pig, and it is not torched or fryed. The flavor of the soup is super familiar if you know what I mean. Overall, cheap ingredient, and cooked carelessly. I dont why people still coming to this place.

Food was great. I had the black Tonkatsu with spice level 3. It was sooo good. Only thing is that the wait time is crazy. I ordered and it came 30 mins later.
