Absolutely disgusting place They mix meat into the vegetarian dishes. Food itself is nasty too, I would rather eat fruit loops at home without milk Vegetarian options: No vegetarian options. They mix meat with everything

If I could, I would give this place zero stars. We visited last Saturday around noon, and despite the restaurant being far from crowded with plenty of empty tables around us, the service was beyond awful. For 20-25 minutes, not a single staff member approached us to offer water or take our order. Finally, we flagged down a server(Melissa) and mentioned that we were still waiting. She went back and never returned to the table. Frustrated, we left the restaurant entirely. She saw us leaving and didn t even attempt to address the situation or apologize. Later, I spoke with the senior staff and head chef to report this appalling behavior, only to observe that other diners seemed equally dissatisfied. This was hands down the worst experience I ve ever had at a restaurant in terms of service. Cannot say much about the food since we never even got to that stage. Avoid this place at all costs. I seriously hope the management takes these reviews seriously and makes some immediate changes.

Fair warning, if you want a decent breakfast go literally anywhere else. My husband and I went for breakfast and had a horrible experience start to finish. Very slow, beverages in disposable cups, under cooked and just gross food. The worst avocado toast (if you can even call it that) soggy bread with what seemed to be a butter like layer of guacamole (the kind you get in a tub) with moldy spinach. Don t waste your time or money.

Absolutely awful service at the B&F Oakville branch today (around 12:30pm). After being seated and handed menus, we waited nearly 20 minutes without a single server approaching us - even though the restaurant wasn t particularly busy with free tables available. Meanwhile, other tables around us were being served. Frustrated, we finally reached out to a server to ask if someone would be taking our order. Although she said someone would, no one showed up, and after waiting another 5-10 minutes, we decided to leave. Completely unacceptable experience - we won t be coming back! And I sincerely hope the manager does something about this lousy customer service.

Right as we entered, the waiter didn t even greet us just told us right away that it was a 30 minute wait. The place was empty which made no sense. We were seated and waited for 10 minutes, no one came to even give us water let alone take our order. We ended up leaving because of the unfriendly and unwelcoming service.

What an amazing experience I came with my wife for a breakfast and we were greeted by an amazing lady with a beautiful smile. Later she came to our table and spoke to us and was very sweet and warm Rita, thank you for making us feel welcomed and we will definitely come back again soon And Kady - Katie, thank you for amazing service

Havent gone wrong here. Really good menu choices. Service can be spotty, but not enough to lose a star over it. Dont need to go hoity-toity in Oakville.

Disappointing to say the least. We stood there for 10 minutes with no line ups and maybe 5 tables seated at best and the staff ignored to even come and talk or give us a table. When approached they just showed the hands as if they have no interest in serving. We ended up leaving. Wouldn t recommend or ever go back here.

Place so nice, service was perfect, we seated very quickly, the food was delicious, prices very reasonable, for sure we will go there again and recommend to all of my friends

So we got there around 12:30 and sat down with our menus, after that we didn t hear from the waitress at all and everyone who walked in got there orders taken before us Kinda wish we got to taste the food but it was already 12:55 and we didn t wanna wait any longer

We haven t been there in a few years so seeing the new look was great. Tasteful updates, modern washrooms, and an open kitchen aesthetic was great. The service was prompt and attentive which was great and seeing the staff attend to others for coffee refills was encouraging. Wait times for food was more than expected for the level of occupancy and the meals were meh. The hollandaise needs some work to differentiate it from a pudding (maybe butter, citrus, etc..) and the fresh cut fruit was definitely pulled from the fridge and prepped hours prior. Is this location unsalvageable no - but there are some basic operations of a breakfast joint that need to be enacted. Best of luck on getting to where you need to be.

Food was very average, definitly not better then at any other Breakfast place like Dennys or Sunset grill. Hot Chocolate was made with water and so awful that I couldnt have more then the first sip. I told the waitress about it and all she said was Oh, sorry. It said on the menu it comes with a cookie and she said Sorry, we have been out for the past few days. The cappuccino we ordered was advertised as bowl- sized, it was smaller then a regular size at any other place. The only thing that left a positive impression was the sourdough bread. It was good, but not amazing...

The food was good no problem..the service was OK.. I was there with an old friend whom we hadnt seen each other in years..unfortunately towards end of Neal and until we left we felt uncomfortable because we were being rushed at 1:25when it doesnt close until 3..very inconsiderate after paying 50.00 plus handsome tip...never have I felt like this ever...

This is my go to for a nice quality breakfast, everything in the menu is made to the best standards possible. The service is very fast and they are always coming by to check in refills for coffee. Everything here exceeds standards and expectations!

Tried this place for the first time. Service was good as was the atmosphere. Food was ok. Ordered one of their specials which included peaches which are in season. Unfortunately the bread was soft, not toasted well, and the peaches tasted like they came from a can. My husband had the avocado toast with salmon. The avocado was definitely not freshly made and likely premade, like what you would get at a grocery store. Disappointed. The traditional breakfast of eggs, bacon and toast looked good. If we came back we would likely stick to the traditional breakfast.

The food was good, the service was a bit slow, maybe a bit understaffed. When we got there it wasn t too full and after a few minutes waiting (probably about 10) I had to call the waiter to get us some coffee. The matt at the entrance was pretty dirty, like if it hasn t been cleaned for a couple of days. Not a good first impression for sure.

Food is over spiced and tasteless at the same time. As someone who knows Ben & florentine from quebec, this is not remotely close to what this chain is there day and night food quality. I advise corporate to closely audit those franchisee out of province. This is not what you were known for.

We came to the restaurant at 12: 15, and we waited 1 hour to see a server at our table. The fork given was dirty and overall the service was bad and slow.

Fantastic breakfast place, a Quebec chain, but this is the only GTA location. Portion is big, lots of varieties, reminds me of when Coras prime days. Food is excellent, service is decent.

Went here for breakfast with my partner and it was an awful experience. The bacon on my skillet was undercooked (when I specifically asked for it to be more well done). I took a few bites, couldn t eat the meal and was still charged for it. The service was awful, I am in the industry and this place lacks aspects of service etiquette. Save your money and go somewhere else if you re looking to go for breakfast in Oakville

Brought my 18 month old for brunch. Had a great time! The staff were very accommodating and service was great. Food also was fantastic. Will definitely be back again. Thanks again for a fun morning!

Last Monday my family of 8 went to Ben & Florentine for Family Day. The restaurant was full but we waited in line. When it was our turn a lovely hostess by the name of Rita seated us. We think she may be the owner but not entirely sure. She was extremely accommodating, moving tables to provide enough seating to my family. Loved the service we received from her, constantly checking in to ensure we had everything we needed until we had a server. One thing I would mention is it seems like there isn t enough staff. Rita assisted until we had a server which was some time later. For a hostess to go above and beyond like that is something worth noting. We will definitely be back and look forward to those pancakes!

Maran is an exceptional waiter. He made us feel welcomed, was very attentive, and answered all our questions about the menu with confidence. I will return just to have him again.

Got here around 1030am and we were the only ones in the restaurant. The man seated us (there were 3 of us) and we asked for 3 waters and he brought 2. Our food came and it was super cold. Was very disappointed. The waiter only spoke to my son and never really acknowledged us. Not very happy with the service. Do not recommend this place at all

The experience at Ben and Florentine was subpar. The service was slow, and the food lacked the expected quality. Disappointing overall. The skillet used for our meal at Ben and Florentine seemed to impart an unpleasant metallic taste to the food, detracting from the overall dining experience. It left us questioning the choice of cookware and its impact on the flavor. On top of the prolonged wait for our brunch at Ben and Florentine, the waitstaff seemed inattentive. The waiters didnt notice our needs promptly, contributing to a less than satisfactory dining experience.

Absolutely HORRIBLE service. I came in with my family (only 3 of us) and were seated right away but was left for over 15 minutes with NO server or anything. All of the servers walked straight passed our table acknowledging we have not been served, and did nothing. It got to the point where the servers looked and pointed at our table and STILL received no service, but the other people who came in shortly after us were already receiving their orders. completely unacceptable, we just got up and left, as we are all hungry and now upset. Not sure if it was the owner or manger at the door who we told, but all she offered was a discount. Completely unacceptable. This is not how you treat your customers, and instead left us never wanting to come back.

I went on Family Day, it was busy! We waited for 15 mins for our table, but the service was slow. The food was good, but I expected a bit more on my plate.

Sadly, this place has really gone downhill. We used to enjoy brunches here but the last couple visits have been awful because of the poor service. They never seem to have enough staff, and we had to wait 15 minutes before someone even came to take our order. The sole waitress on shift was clearly overwhelmed and after we finally received our food, she never came back to our table to refill to refill our coffees or to bring us the toast and applesauce that was supposed to be included with our meals. The cream that came with my waffle was sour, but the rest of the meal was fine. If this place gets better management maybe we ll give it another chance.

Food is decent. Service is slow. Each time Im here Im never asked for a coffee refill and Ill have to flag the server down even during low hours. Having an empty cup for 5 minutes is a long time at a brunch spot. For the amount of food and quality. Youre betting off going to sunset grill, cheaper, better food and usually better service. Nearly 20 bucks for 3 eggs, basic Dempster toast, some bacon sausage and ham is wild.

Unfortunately all good things come to an end. First of all this was hands down my favorite breakfast place, my boyfriend and I would come here often. I always order the Sriracha Benedict. This time however, while the service was still great, the quality of the food has clearly gone down significantly. The meat was squishy and flavorless and honestly kind of gross, I had to pick it out and put it to the side. My boyfriend even tried to eat it for me but it was too gross for him too, and hes not a picky eater. I dont think there was any actual chorizo in it. There was zero spice and its supposed to be one of the hotter menu items. They also normally load you up with home fries, I had a total of 28 little homefries. Yes, I counted. My boyfriends meal, had zero presentation, home fries just scattered all over. His sausage was also squishy and flavorless, his scrambled eggs were very dry, his French toast was thin and soggy. All in all, very disappointed because this used to be our favorite place to get breakfast but we probably wont be coming back.

Well things have changed here. I think they re cutting corners. The menu mentioned maple syrup and what was served was clearly one of the synthetic syrups & it wasn t replaced when we asked. We ordered a waffle with strawberries on the side, but it came with them on top & check out the picture of the strawberries which were clearly very old. The staff was nice otherwise, but the food quality is definitely not what it used to be

We had a great service and food for all 4 of us. Pravda was our server and was fantastic with all aspects of our experience. She was extra kind with special pancake request. She was amazing. Other staff were also amazing and kind. We also were greeted by the lovely hostess Rita. Thank you all.

Well folks ben&flo are back. Under new ownership. With new staff in the kitchen and boy they rock ...much improved. Happy that previous servers are back cause the service is always top notch. Dont hesitate if you have never been.. have breakfest with the best. Food : 5/5

Wow! What a difference since my last visit a few years ago. I understand there is a new owner and it is reflective in their food. My friend and I both ordered the avocado and bacon eggs Benedict and it was so good. The amount of bacon and avocado uses blew us away as many restaurants will be skimpy with these ingredients. Everything was fresh, hot and made with love. The fresh fruit and home fries were also delicious. Coffee was hot and fresh and fantastic service. It was my birthday and we got a complementary waffle dessert which was so good. This will be our new lunch spot from now on. Please go and support this restaurant. You wont be disappointed.

Ver nice place, super renovated, clean, organized and with friendly service. The food was excellent, super tasty, the portions were good and the price is quite reasonable. They have fresh guacamole, which is amazing. Their crepes are also spectacular. The service was a bit slow, especially since was early in the morning and still quiet. We were in a medium group and our food did not arrive together, so it was a bit awkward to wait until we all have the meals/ plates. If you have kids, they do have kids menu and high chair, however they dont have crayons/painting activities, so bring something to entertain your kids. Vegetarian options: They have good vegetarian options, especially if you eat eggs. Dietary restrictions: They have vegetarian options and also many gluten free options. Parking: Plenty of parking spots available when we went - 9:30-10am on a Sunday. Kid-friendliness: The place is nice and they do have high chair, however they dont have kids menu/activity and the clientele is usually adults, so I got a couple of judgy eyes when my kid started talking loud (bored). Bring activity options for kids.

Tried this place a few years ago and it was delicious, was excited to go back when visiting my parents. My dad and I went for breakfast, it was 10 minutes by the time we were greeted by our server, food took a while but hash browns, sausage and bacon were served stone cold. Lack of attentiveness from our server. One of the other servers (blonde, skinny, 40ish) was super friendly and kept checking in on us as she noticed our server was not. Lots of workplace drama happening. Very disappointed a total let down

I love the fact that Ben & Florentine has reopened. Have always loved their food and glad to know that the new owner has kept the same menu and maintained the quality of food. Feels good to see some of the previous servers and their welcoming smile. My go to place for a brunch. Love the food and the portion sizes.

2 weeks ago I came in and it was extremely busy. There was only 1 spot I could sit. However, I was looked after almost immediately after I sat down and They were very helpful and very friendly. I sat in the same spot today with literally nobody beside me on either side and sat there for 10 minutes before leaving without anyone checking up on me. I didn t recognize any of the staff from 2 weeks ago. I enjoy coming here to eat, but I guess not today train your other staff members better.

I loved this place and was so excited when it opened us again a few weeks ago. I was disappointed and infuriated going there today. We were seated but were not acknowledged for more than 20 mins. When we finally got someone s attention, we were tossed around to different waiters. The one who took our order was unapologetic. We didn t receive what we ordered and the food didn t look good at all. We just left. Looked like we were not the only ones unhappy in the room. Not going again and recommend you not to. It s really a shame for a place which used to be great.

Our first brunch here, server Carilina.. but actually a few servers stopped to chat, very warm and welcoming. I had the bacon and avo skillet.. hubby had egg burger. Food was tasty, too much really for one person, we will share next time. Restaurant clean and well laid out.

I came with 2 kids. they greated and seated a couple in front of me and ignored us. I waited for 15 min. nobody came. I started to look for anybody for at least an ETA. I saw a waiter and she didnt apologize she just said that she thought somebody already greeted us and then I asked how long we needed to wait and she said 15 more minutes. so overall 30 min just waiting with 2 kids not even seated, standing near entrance with people walking past you. i ended up leaving, my 5 year old was sad, I really pumped up the menu for him, he was so excited coming in..

First time here, sat down to 2 sets of dirty cutlery. You could tell the home fries are likely just frozen store bought, coffee was not great. Ordered Benedict with hollandaise on the side and it came smothered, waiter was not apologetic and looked at me like I should take it as is. Interior is beautiful and we were excited to come in after reading good reviews, disappointed for sure.

I had the misfortune of dining at this restaurant and it was an absolute nightmare. The food was mediocre at best, but what really ruined my experience was the terrible management. The staff were disorganized and seemed to have no idea what they were doing, and the manager was nowhere to be found when we needed assistance. To top it off, our order was completely wrong and it took forever to get it fixed. The atmosphere was also very unpleasant, with dirty tables and a general lack of cleanliness. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone and will definitely not be returning

First time here. Had a blueberry brie french toast, made with gf bread. So delicious!! It also had this yogurt on it that added even more sweetness to it. My husband had an apple and cheddar Benedict with fruit which he really enjoyed, potatoes were also good. Service was great, very attentive but not overly so. Offers to refill coffee and checking on us throughout. Wonderful experience. Dietary restrictions: Gf bread available, as well as buckwheat crêpes

Frist time dining here. Had a great experience a side from the great breakfast, ordered Big Ben . More than enough food for what you pay. Reasonable prices in todays market. Also just want to put this out there had the pleasure of being served by this great + genuine person not going to lie. I believe her name was Shelly hope l got it right. Hat comes off to you. Cheers. Former Employee here, If you want food-born illness, and the potential to get food poisoning from the lack of cleanliness that is kept in the back due to unkept standards... This is the place for you! It is unfortunate to see this franchise dwindle from a local favourite, to a local hatred. The lack of quality in ingredients, customer service, and overall care is appauling. Any person who eats here has the potential of getting sick from rotten food, cross contamination, as well as unkept cleaning standards. PLEASE BE CAREFUL IF YOU EAT HERE!!

Mediocre at best - they gave the wrong crepe and when we pointed it out, they tried to tell us we were the wrong ones. When we showed them the menu they ended up bringing us a new one which was really actually worse cause it was a crepe filled with unmelted cheese and cold apples, yikes. Also you better be ok with dry crepes and pancakes cause they ll charge you almost $3 for some syrup!! Redeeming factors for the place is the menu is large and hashbrowns are crispy

I really was looking forward to their reopening as this was the only location here in Ontario. Only to find out original menu was changed, they no longer offer a healthy vegetarian skillet the current version has mainly potatoes, as a matter of fact every option consists of potatoes. Will not be coming back.

Amazing food.

This comment that I wrote below i hope will be of help to the new people who want to work as waitresses, so that they take all the necessary precautions and make sure that their tip money is pay to them. A member of my family worked as a waitresses and they only canceled the value of the hours worked but the TIPS never wanted to pay them we don t know the reason but repeatedly and by the existing means we have required the corresponding payment, going so far as to write and send the case to main office but everything has been in vain The respective email was sent, but they didn t solve anything, the answer they post it and gave in the review was to fill a requirement and the people who see it think that everything is solve BUT NOT

Sunday brunch was delicious! Food and service was great - always refreshing my coffee too.

My go-to breakfast restaurants! It s one of the only places that I feel the food is truly good quality, without outrageous prices, and a pretty wide variety. I would be wary of going during busy hours. Staff does the best they can, but there s only so much they can do with a million customers. I highly recommend here to all of my friends.

Our food was excellent. Tushar, our Server, was friendly, polite and attentive, but it was busy and we had to ask a couple of times for a decaf coffee refill. The bathrooms could use cleaning.

I had a previous review that wasnt too complimentary, mostly because of service and possibly lack of training. My experience this week was great. The restaurant had very competent and friendly servers. The food was tremendous and the environment was wonderful. This restaurant is a gem and I would rate it as one of the best places for breakfast anywhere. Keep it up!

Ate here recently and my server Olivia was great. Very fun and attentive, will definitely return!

We found hair in my sons meal twice. The server told us employees were wearing hair nets but they weren t as the kitchen is open and we could see. Server called the manager to ask to take the meal off our bill and he declined it. Still made us pay. Not her fault at all. She provided great service. However we will not come back here again. Awful customer service by store manager and poor sanitary measures. Too bad.

We want try it again after several years. We were very disappointed. The took so long to offer a drink. The waitress serving beside the table said your table is not mine, but if not body come I will come back. Finally someone came. I order pancakes and were so horrible! I expect the regular pancakes and this ones were something between crepes and pancakes. The syrup jar was all sticky, I had to go to wash my hands. Very bad experience.

We loved this place. It has changed ownership and things have changed. The restaurant is still the same, clean, maybe not enough staff to stay on top of clearing tables. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The food quantity has changed, not s much nd prices are higher. I go every year for my birthday, looking so forward to my crispy French toast with baked apples. Well the toast is very thin(not how french to should be and was before), but the taste was still there so good. It used to have r raspberry coulis and whipped cream. Now comes with another non whipped I didnt like that. The waiter did bring me a very tiny bit of whipped. Its just not the same, but its still good. My husband had a combo dish, it came on very large plate with 2 eggs, 1 piece of French toast(very thin) and hashbrowns(which were great), just not what was expected of a combo breakfast. Maybe dont put it on such a large plate. Prices have gone up and quantity down. I dont think we will return as we come from the Hamilton Mountain. I wish we would have taken photos. Over all still great tasting food. Kid-friendliness: Good place for children staff is very friendly.

I was part of a party of 7 that had brunch around 1pm on a Saturday. The staff were all super friendly and most of the food was great but things kept getting forgotten by the waiter (who was really nice though). Water, eggs, toast, and sausage kept getting forgotten and had to be asked for/ reminded about, which happens. There is a large variety of menu choices and something for everyone. I had read someone elses review saying that the crepes are not like normal crepes- that theyre more like crepes and a pancake had a baby - and thats a great description. Not a bad thing if you know thats what youre getting. I ordered the apple crepe and I found it way too sweet, but it came with eggs, sausage and bacon so it kind of balanced everything out in the end, but it would have been too sweet on its own. The food looked delicious and mostly was, though my mom complained they makes her avocado up when the menu showed it as slices. All minor details because I would still come back and try something else and I encourage you to do the same!

Food was delicious. The service was amazing - I dont remember the waitress name but she went above and beyond to ensure my kids (5 & 7) had everything they needed. We will be back! Kid-friendliness: Pancakes were a hit! They came with banana slices and the waitress brought chocolate syrup (Nutella!) in a side bowl for dipping! Yummy!

I had the breakfast special which was only $11, but I should have asked for the bacon crispy, the toast well done, since everything was under cooked. The restaurant was very busy, so I m sure the food is normally very good. I should have spoken to the server, but she was so busy serving I didn t have the heart.

Ordered the spicy italian sausage with potatoes and eggs the dish was 95% potato with crumbs of ground up sausage. I had to order a side of sausages just to get through the dish. Shrinkflation is real.

Went there for breakfast twice while visiting the area. Great menu with tons of options. Our waitress was great, there were no lines to be seated and food was excellent. Best breakfast spot in Kerr Village.

OMG, theyve reopened! Im not sure when, but they were closed for many months since last year. I was so glad, and we went there ASAP. The staff is very friendly, the food is good, and portions are generous. If you love smoothies, do try theirs. You can opt for almond milk instead of yogurt, and its delicious and fresh!

Great vibe, service. We ordered the salmon avocado toast. Unfortunately, the avocado did not seem fresh. It looked out of a box. The salmon tasted a bit stale as well. Our daughter enjoyed her smores crepe but personally I did not like the texture. It was way too crispy. Would return again and try something else but it was a huge disappointment.

We have been to Ben & Florentine many times and have always had a good experience. However today was terrible, came around 10 am and it was not busy at all. There was 3 servers and we waited for 15mins and not one of them came with coffee even. You could tell from the other customers there that their experience has not been good either. The manager was running around asking people if they had ordered and completely passed by us. After not being attended to we decided to get up and leave. One of the servers realized we were leaving and brought it to the attention of the manager on floor and did nothing at all. Didnt even apologize or try to get us to stay. The servers were yelling at each other from across the restaurant, and one of the servers followed us to the exit door saying sorry because she had a tooth ache ???? Very unprofessional experience. Will be hard to go back, the food is great. But something has changed there.

We walked in for a late breakfast and were greeted by an entire section of tables with dirty dishes. The bathroom had one toilet that was overflowing with water and human waste which created a puddle I had to avoid stepping on. Going back to my table I noticed the majority of empty tables were not cleared; I saw a waiter pass a payment machine to his table and just walk by the dirty table next to them. The place had plenty of waitstaff and wasnt busy so I dont understand their standard for cleanliness. The food was only ok. I asked for a substitute bread for my French toast and was given something else. My husbands smoothie bowl was literally a fruit smoothie poured into a bowl. The kids scrambled egg was so tiny my son asked for more. This was our first time here so maybe they were having an off day but you only get one chance at a first impression and overall the level of uncleanliness was noticeable.

For all the advertising and materials that talk about quality and unique approaches, I experienced something different. The place has great ambience and advertises itself very well, but service in my case was lackadaisical to the point I had to eventually ask for a bill. The food was average at best, with the famous homefries tasting like they came out of a box. The fruit garnish was mixed in with the potatoes (yuk) and the eggs benedict were overdone and cold by the time they got to my table. A long way to go, in my opinion, to where the experience matches the hype.

Rather disappointing visit. Food was not hot.Eggs Benedict has very little hollaindaise sauce. The waiter did not ask how we wanted the eggs, so they were very runny.

Decent quality food I have to admit. Two things I found odd: you cant swap half your bacon for sausage (i.e. no substitutions), which is ... whatever; but half an ounce of chipotle sauce for $1.50!! Also, about half an ounce of Nutella is $1.95! Id give it 5 stars if they cut the prices of the sauces by half; itd make more sense! Oh, and who sells coffee for $3.95?!! Starbucks sells it for $2.25 for reasons sake!! Great food, but the unreasonable prices on little things dont make sense! Sauces and coffee are supposed to complete your meal, so tey shouldnt cost as much as 30-40% as the price of your breakfast!

We travelled from Mississauga in hopes of having our breakfast cravings fulfilled. I ordered the avocado lox toast and my hubby ordered the steak skillet. We 10 minutes to get served, the place had two guests. We ordered and waited another 20 minutes for food. When finally received, the salmon and avocado on the lox did not even look fresh. The steak skillet looked like it came from someones stomach. We flagged our server, told him the problem and he said it was fine. I mean, if it was fine, than I wouldnt have reported it to him that it really wasnt fine. When he finally realized that I wasnt playing, he offered to bring a new one. I refused and ate everything but the avocado lox. So disappointed. I dont recommend this place to anyone and I definitely wont be returning.

Terrible terrible !!! We had to wait over 30 min to be seated.. and then it took another 30 min to take our order .. then over 45 min to come for the food .. each item is $16 or more .. few of the young kids that are working there seem to be owners kids and totally clueless .. we asked the young girl when our order would Come and she had no answer.. she was roaming around the whole restaurant completely lost.. same with the young man working there they kept asking servers what to do.. if you want to own a restaurant train yourself and the whole family .. we will never come back here .. food was mediocre .. they gave both kids half a waffles and so many home fries .. since this place has changed ownership things have gone downhill..

Ordered goat cheese chicken salad, paid $19.00 for a salad the size of a side salad. No dressing , waitress brought mustard for salad dressing no other salad dressing available. Service was slow, others were supposed to get apple sauce with their meal, had ro ask for it, waitress brought it to them after they finished meal. Waitress was friendly enough. Would not go back. No value for the money.

Make sure to come and see Maran! He will make you feel like a friend rather than just a customer. He was very kind and put a smile on my face. I hope to get him as a server again upon my next visit!

Was looking forward to starting Saturday with a nice breakfast with family. On an earlier pick-up visit, while paying, I asked staff if they had hash browns. Was told no but they had something called potato pancakes instead. I was given impression we could just exchange the home fries for the potato pancakes. Ordered today & remembered to request for potato pancakes i/o home fries. During pickup, I noticed there was unexpected extra charge for potato pancakes (approx. $6) Thought I d clarify on that line item since I had been given a different impression from previous visit from the staff that it was just a swap Happened to have the owner doing my payment step. She mentioned no it s extra charge; pointing to the bill showing me what I already saw. Now, not that one cannot afford the extra line item. It was communication and care shown that prompted me to write the review. While paying, mid-conversation, the owner could not get a printout of receipt so walked off. 1 minute later, another person comes to me and .. guess what proceeds to try charge me a SECOND time on my card for entire bill I had just paid. I clarified I d just already paid on the machine upon which she just thrusts the receipt in my hand and walks off. Here s an owner who decided not to bother with customer clarification that was unexpected based on previous info from staff, but chose to completely ignore a customer conversation once she walked off AND not inform the staff sent back that I had already paid. To top it off, I reach home .. and the thing that I enjoy - the apple sauce sides - are not even in the bag. Their menu clearly states it s included with all classic breakfasts An owner who dodges behind her staff, does not care and cannot fulfill orders as displayed does bring up the question of the kind of leadership running the place.

Awful service. Clearly the restaurant is not capable of handling a full house. The lady waitress who is also acting hostess asked us to come in and we followed her. She was cleaning a table and we thought it was ours, but then she looked at us and said oh no yours is the one near the entrance. She didn t even ushered us to it when we came in. The waiter who took our order was very friendly. I ordered the healthy wrap, waffle with fruits, and bananlicious for my son. I was pointing to each item when ordering it. The same waitress came and brought the bananlicious and the wrap. The waffle didn t arrive. After asking about it later, we were told that it wasn t punched in. While we were still enjoying our coffee, the same waitress brought the bill and said no rush . We didn t give it any importance until the waiter came after 2 mins and asked if we want the machine. We were rushed to pay after 30 minutes! Note to the management: hire a hostess to manage the queue or implement a reservation system. Also, stop rushing customers to leave in such short time!

Absolutely love coming here - friendliest staff in Oakville, the owner is amazing, and the food never disappoints. Have been incredibly welcoming from the first time I visited, and always look forward to returning.

There were 2 staff serving all the tables, so things are busy. It is understandable. They only gave my child kid menu with colouring page but no crayon. I told my daughter they are very busy, we can color next time. But next table came, they have crayons right away. I have to ask for the menu. Wait longer than usual to be seated and getting the check.. They missed wiped cream on the menu . Food is ok, but won t go again.

Top notch service for the Ben & Florentine team. It was worth the trip and the young waitress with the beautiful pearl earrings was knowledgeable and got my eggs done right! They have a nice interior design and the place is very clean and well kept. The service is polite and attentive. Food is average tasting and portions are relatively small. Overall it is a good experience.

Love this place, took a friend here for the first time and he already is talking about going back. The crispy French toast is so unique and I love that I can do a combo with eggs and a waffle. They are really good because they have a menu packed with yummy and unique options. Also not typically a big fan of homefries but I love theirs. This is one of my favourite breakfast spots! Definitely highly recommend.

Food as great, but the service was terrible, and we werent the only ones there at the time who thought so. We waited for 10 mins after being seated, and had to ask to have our order taken. When a waitress came, she said that she wasnt our server, but was going to be taking our order. My girlfriend ordered orange juice, and after a few sips, realized that the glass had lipstick stains and was still dirty. Then, almost 50 mins of waiting, our food finally came, and her order was wrong. The manager was very apologetic, and comped her portion of the order. As of leaving the restaurant, we still have know idea who our server actually was. Will probably give this place a try again one day, but there are other brunch places with just as good, and better service

Food is terrible. Not a fan of the homefries. I prefer grilled homefries not fried. Benedicts are awful. I would avoid this place. I waited 15mins before a waitress came by and then my food took another 45 mins. Slow service to say the least. The waitress we had was not friendly and she didnt refill my coffee. Then I witnessed her scratch her head several times and used her hands to touch my coffee mug. Not to mention the coffee mug she brought had a lipstick stain on it. My whole experience was horrendous. When I asked to speak to the manager the waitress said the manager hardly comes in. There needs to be a manager on sight because the staff doesnt care about the customers. I would not recommend this place.

Place is renovated after a fire so the interior is nice and clean, the place is well lit and busy on a Sunday morning. I had the Brie French toast and we also got the western omelette food tasted good but not excellent and portions are on the smaller side compared to other restaurants

As reviewed on Yelp - 6/9/2018 Todays brunch was at Ben & Florentine in Oakville. Ive never been to this place but my visit today left me impressed. Although the place was already packed when we arrived, the hostess was quick to usher us to our table of four. Our server was on cue and we ordered our coffee while browsing through their menu, which by the way is huge. It was time to place our order: we ordered, Two eggs & crispy french toast, Classics, Healthy Scrambler, and Koko Loko for the little lady in our party. At times, we see the bottom of our coffee cups but its understandable given the crowd. The food arrived. Our plates looked beautiful. Aside from the Healthy Scrambler, our breakfast order came with toast and potatoes. I opted for rye toast. The potatoes were diced, fried and lightly seasoned. It was good but not what I preferred. The fruits were fresh, eggs cooked to perfection, the bacon crispy as well as the French toast. All in all, the experience was positive, the food was good, the place was packed but did not slow down the service we received. Will definitely go back!

Best was coffee! Servers were so friendly. Bright nice family friendly place. Just average dishes. Your typical American breakfast. Nothing special and none of us (4 adults ) like our plates. The French toast was so deflated. The bagels were hard for poached eggs on top and the crepe were thick with no maple sauce or fruits.

We went there for the first time and simply loved it. The staff was very welcoming and full of energy with a big smile. We were in a hurry and mentioned to the server - to my amaze our order arrived in 5 minutes or less. It was fresh, warm and tasty. Oh, and I loved my Fresh squeezed Orange juice. Just one little thing Id like to add as a suggestion is that I think its about time to update/upgrade the crockery ;) The place is easy to locate with good enuff parking. We were there at around 11am, and it was almost a full house but still there was no compromise on the standard of services. For those reasons its a 5 star without any doubts. Thank you Ben and Florentine, well be coming back soon for a yummy start of our morning.
