I had an amazing experience at Daal-roti! The atmosphere was cozy, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious, especially the Manchurian, Masala Naan, Hara-Bhara kabab,Tandoori chap, Kaju Masala, and Paneer Lababdar. Each dish was bursting with flavor and perfectly prepared. The generous portions and reasonable prices made it even better. I highly recommend Daal-roti for anyone looking for a fantastic meal with excellent service.I can’t wait to return....
Located in a business park on Iroquois Shore Rd. just east of Trafalgar Rd. in Oakville, Daal Roti has reopened under new management approximately two months ago prior to the time of this writing. They are a small and quaint Indian restaurant that offers a-la-carte service in the evenings and a daily lunch buffet throughout the week and weekend. Though we did not sample their buffet offering during the day, we did select their menu items for dinner on a weekend evening. Greeted by the owner and server as we entered the restaurant, we found them to be very friendly, cordial and helpful. It was quite apparent during our visit that they place great value on their customers and their satisfaction with the menu items selected, and the service provided. This was perhaps the highlight of our overall experience. Menu items selected were presented nicely in serving bowls very much typical for restaurants specializing in Indian fare. Food items were served at a good temperature directly from the kitchen and portion sizes are somewhat comparable to those offered at other restaurants, depending on what is ordered. Each of the menu items sampled were flavourful, and fresh tasting. However to be fair, though our opinions are entirely subjective as they should be, we could could not find anything about the food items selected impressive, or good enough to draw us back for a second visit. The Daal Makhani was very basic with one type of lentl and the consistency seemed to be watered down which took away from the creamy and full feeling of the sauce typically found at other restaurants. The Veg Pulav was colourful and presented nicely but we found it to be a bit oily, and made with I believe frozen vegetables instead of garden fresh. The Chicken Madras Curry has a nice mild coconut flavour and the chicken meat was somewhat tender. Unfortunately, with the few pieces of chicken in this dish for the price paid, we found it a a bit disappointing. Overall, prices for many of the food items found in their menu appeared to be moderately overpriced. Perhaps their lunch buffet offers better value for the money. Keeping in mind that the restaurant has been operating for two months under new management, it is understandable that the overall ambience of the restaurant fell short of making our dining experience comfortable and pleasant. The colour of the first dining area is a dark blue-grey colour and the second a lighter pastel green. There were no Indian inspired aesthetics to speak of that could have contributed positively to our overall experience. The restaurant dining areas felt stark and lifeless and not conducive to instilling a feeling of warmth and comfort. All said and done, we found that they tried to make a better than acceptable effort with respect to providing good customer service. However, we found that the overall quality of food items selected, portion sizes and value for the money, and restaurant ambience could be improved. There is definitely potential with this restaurant. Perhaps in the months to come everything will fall into place making this restaurant the “go-to” for Indian cuisine.
We were craving for Indian food and stumbled upon this restaurant and I'm so glad we did. My boyfriend is super-picky and he loved it too! Very flavorful! If you’re looking for real authentic Indian food, this is the place to go. Umang,our host, was awesome. Highly recommended.
We walked into the restaurant didn't know it's a buffet, but after a quick tour we decided to give it a try and we're happy with our decision. Food is fresh and hot, and nicely presented. I love goat curry, the spiciness is at their authentic level. The staff are patient and courteous, explaining the food to us. Roti and Nan are freshly made in the kitchen so they're not displayed, they'll ask you if you want them and they'll bring to your table. Place is clean, nice atmosphere. Weekend lunch is $18.99, which I find very reasonable with the variety and quality of food.
The service is great, the restaurant has a nice atmosphere, and (most) of the food is very tasty. However, the chicken used in the butter chicken had a weird taste. This is likely because they use dark meat chicken rather than white meat chicken (which is what I prefer). But taste is subjective and based on personal preferences. Overall, I would rather order the paneer next time, it was really good.
Stopped on our way at this place for dinner. Loved the dahi puri served in exotic style. Tried hara bhara kabab, paneer lababdar and chicken curry which didn’t disappoint. Service was top-notch!
From the moment we walked in, the friendly staff made us feel very welcome. The ambiance of the restaurant is warm and inviting, which set the tone for a great meal. Their $18 weekend lunch buffet is an amazing deal. It includes 12 main courses, with a perfect balance of 6 vegetarian and 4 non-vegetarian options. This means there is something to satisfy everyone’s taste buds. I particularly enjoyed their mutton and chicken curries, and butter chicken masala and paneer tikka masala, and reshmi kadhai which were cooked to perfection and full of flavor. One thing I noticed was that they don’t offer ice cream, but they more than make up for it with their delicious desserts. The gulab jamun was soft and sweet, and the fruit custard was creamy and refreshing. While I did miss having biryani as part of the buffet, the wide variety of other dishes more than compensated for it. The naan was incredibly soft and complemented the curries very well. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a satisfying and enjoyable meal!

Food is very close to authentic Indian recipes and I enjoyed good spicy food after long time. Overall service is great. I would recommend this place if you like spicy and full of tadka food. They do have mild options as well.

The staff here is friendly, welcoming, and attentive. It isn t a fancy restaurant but it is comfortable and you ll feel at home. We had the lunchtime buffet - the selection isn t huge but it is big enough - you ll be full if you try everything. There are lots of gluten free and vegetarian dishes on the buffet. I can t say this enough - the staff here are wonderful and provide exceptional service. Vegetarian options: The entire right hand half of the buffet is vegetarian meat-less dishes. Dietary restrictions: I am Celiac and therefore can t eat any gluten. When I phoned to ask if I could eat here, I was told enthusiastically that yes, many of their dishes were gluten free. When we entered the restaurant, I identified myself and the staff including the chef walked me through each dish on the buffet, explaining the ingredients and how it was prepared. I had a great meal and had no negative health effects afterwards. This restaurant seems safe for Celiacs and others who need to eat gluten free.
We ordered take out of a few items including samosa chaat, dahi puri, vada pav & tea. The items were totally without any flavour & very very basic. The gol gappe in dahi puri seemed really old & hardly had anything on them. The tea was even more disappointing and seemed like a mix of just milk & water. Pretty disappointing experience. Even the samosa in the chaat were not fresh. Never again!

The food is very delicious. We miss Indian food alot. Daal roti brings with them the taste of India. Whenever we crave for Indian food we always prefer to go and eat here. We have eaten the butter chicken, dal makhani, laccha paratha, paneer lababdar, etc and have really relished and enjoyed each and every dish. I have amazing experience from this restaurant. As, I visited last week. But, todays experience is great as compare to last one. As, naan is so soft, pillowy texture and slightly charred and crispy edges. I never ate earlier like that type of bread. Its really good. I want to visit again and meet chief also to appreciate them.

Their buffet is a disaster. Taste was decent. But very under staffed. Half of the time there were no plates and no food. Once u get hold of a plate then u had to wait for 5 to 10 mins for them to replenish the food trays. I would never go here.

Hi.these people don t believe in words what they said before.We called them yesterday and informed to restaurant staff about lunch buffet buy 1 get 1 offer.The staff said that you can come after 2pm for lunch.we had travelled all the way from Hamilton to reach here.when we entered in restaurants,the other staff informing that we can t take more people due to limited availability of space.what the hell is going on?They changed their words.If you guys running any promotions,please share transparency regarding all.They wasted our time.Please do not go with any promotion.Not recommended anyone.
Worst place for buffet
we called restaurant yesterday before going there.The staff informed that you can come in lunch as there is no need for reservations and they suggested to come after 2pm no rush. when we reached there ,the staff changed his mind and telling us that we don t have any space for lunch. I am not recommended anyone.
I have been to Daal roti a couple of times before at Mississauga location and always had a good experience. This was my first time to Oakville location and it was a mess here. I was disappointed for today s buffet lunch there. Most of the items on the buffet were either cold or not available. They only refilled a couple of dishes and more so the dishes that they refilled were not properly cooked too. I wish they had declined the reservations beyond a point when they knew they cannot manage and are out of food. The person at the reception was hospitable but I only wish they managed it better.
Today they canceled their buffet 1+1 offer after posting on social media. But as we went there, we still decided to eat their buffet and that was our worst decision. Food taste was not that good and very less items in menu for buffet Chicken dishes were undercooked!! Golgappe was the worst item in their menu. 75% of sitting area is occupied by Birthday party. There was no space left for buffet except 2-3 tables. Pathetic Buffet ever had in Canada!!

Went for the offer - buy 1 get 1 lunch buffet as advertised. They decided the cancel the offer on the day since they had too many customers. This is not ethical. Separately, the dessert ran out and we had to ask serveral times for a replacement - in the end 2 portions of dessert were provided for 4 people. This is not what is defined as a buffet for sure The butter chicken and veg appetizers were great

Ordered delivery and there was no issue with the delivery time itself. I got Goat Biryani, Methi Chicken, Chicken Lababdar, and Garlic Naan. The Biryani rice looked and tasted a day old, very little flavour compared to when I had it a year ago. The naan looked and tasted like it was sitting out all day, not cooked fresh for sure. The Methi Chicken and Chicken Lababdar sauce tasted like it was out of a jar from Metro, very bland. If it was at least cooked fresh but bland, thats fine, but this literally was taken from a day old buffet.

Been to this place first time since new owner took over and can feel the difference in all aspects. Service is top notch, the owner himself was coming to table to check if food is good and per expectation. In our case they were quick to act and get us non-spicy paw-bhaji as the one we got was not as per our request. Will definitely recommend visiting this place and enjoy the delicacies. It was great experience to be at this restaurant. We were four guests who tried buffet there. It includes a lot of veg and non-veg curries, Anjali told us about the menu in detail. She welcomed and served us very well. We are totally satisfied with the quality of food and service.
Pretty mediocre setting compared to other restaurants and even their own branch in Mississauga, food was pretty blend and nothing taste good except fruit custard, very few veg option and out of that one of the curry was just gravy with cheese, flitters(pakora) in starter was at least re fried 4-5 time as it was actually turned black and it was not even hot ,when asked for fresh pakora again they brought same black super oily refried pakora(the black thing in plate on left is pakora). Total waste of money

Just had lunch at this newly opened restaurant. The food by Indian standards was good and not too oily. Rupansh was very attentive by making sure that the hot table was well stocked. Will definitely return !! To the owner: keep up the quality of the food as you have lots of competition!! Parking: It was a Friday afternoon so parking was fine.

I wouldn t recommend the restaurant for the below reason 1. Chicken in the biryani was raw and had a streak of blood in it. The meat was pinkish and uncooked. 2. Found a long white hair in the biryani which by itself a puke moment. 3. Upon reporting it to the restaurant, the staff were unapologetic and guaranteed that the next time it wouldn t happen and would gladly replace the dish for free the next time we visit the restaurant Dietary restrictions: Please visit if you are looking for uncooked chicken in the biryani and you have an appetite to eat white hair from the chefs or whoever had long white hair in that cooking station
Imagine getting asked to go outside and come back in 30 mins while they refill the buffet. The young waiter needs a crash course on customer service. Tandoori Flame in Mississauga is much better anyways.

This restaurant has closed down 4 months ago. The web order still takes you to Oakville and then ends up ordering to Orangeville. Theres an Indian restaurant across street.

You will not get a good food, test was very bad, we had some Indian dishes, but we spoil our time and test, not at all recommended, will not come again. Service was excellent, humble people here but food not at all
Today, we visit this location and odered tandoori momos veg which wal so tatsy and in main corse we order dal makhni with garlic naan which was good and flavourful.

Well folks. As they say good things don t last forever.. just had my last diner here.. Waited over 1 hours 20mins after being told 20mins.. so basically lied.. food was cold and definitely sat on the counter for awhile. See ya !

alright so we met one of the workers, his name is naveen adhikaari, i just can not discribe in words about the customer service he offered to us. Very generous and humble guy. Food was good too. will be glad to meet him again if i ever visit this store again.
