Teppanyaki & Bar restaurantHibachi, also known as Japanese steakhouse or Teppanyakiis a post–World War II style of Japanese cuisine that uses an iron griddle to cook food. The word teppanyaki is derived from teppan, which is the metal plate on which it is cooked, and yaki, which means grilled, broiled, or pan-fried. The master chefs will dazzle you with their samurai like swordsmanship as they slice, dice, juggle and entertain while preparing delicious food on a sizzling Teppanyaki grill.
Amazing! My friend and I thought this was just regular takeout or dine in and we were shocked when we sat down and saw a nearby table light on fire! Despite the surprise we stayed and had an amazing time, the chefs are all friendly and the energy here is great. The food is simple but filling and tasty, especially for the price considering the show you get with your meal.
This was my first time here and I was very impressed with the great taste in food, and how professional the chef was! It's amazing how he is able to cook the food to perfection, and serve all the people sitting at the table as well. He was very quick with serving the food, and keeps you entertained! For apps I had soup and salad. For the main course I had lobster tail, shrimp, scallops, vegetables, and fried rice. I can't remember the name of the drink I had but it was really good! I would definitely come back here for dinner and try something different!
IIf you’re looking for a dining experience that’s as entertaining as it is delicious, Hibachi Teppanyaki is the place to be! The live cooking show is an absolute treat, watching the chefs expertly prepare your meal right in front of you. It’s not just about the food—it’s the entire experience that sets this place apart. Plus, they offer halal options, so everyone can enjoy the flavors and fun.
Great place to have dinner enjoying the show the chef makes while cooking your food, for which there are different options to choose from. The service was good and friendly. Note that Teppanyaki tables have only seats each and you will be sharing it with other people if your party isn't ten. In general this is a good place.
It's a great restaurant to visit for food & entertainment. We have been a few times for birthday celebrations. The chefs are entertaining & like to be playful with younger guests. Children love the experience. Food is great. Plenty of proteins to choose from for your main. The fried rice is a tasty upgrade. Purchase gift cards from Costco to save $$. $100 gift card for $80.
This was a really cool experience. The kids at our table were having a blast! The food selection was a pretty basic menu but you are here for the show (and the fire)! I ordered the Chicken Yakisoba and when served it was a nice light pepper sauce. The veggies were nicely cooked and seasoned with a soy dressing. I was impressed with the service as dishes were all cleared quickly and we were well attended to.
Great atmosphere and service. The team was extremely accommodating to our large group and different dietary restrictions. Our cook was entertaining and fun. My only negative comment would be that the rice was pretty under cooked. Overall, great experience for food and entertainment. Highly recommend for a large group.
Took advantage of the wagjag deal and tried this out last night. It was a 7 course meal which included filled minion, scallop, chicken, and lobster tail for mains. The cook was entertaining and gave a great show. Definitely worth it with the wag jag deal.
Great food and service, highly recommend for celebrating birthdays.
Love this place. Good food and nice vibe
We were a group of 8 friends for dinner and enjoyed everything about our experience. The food was great and the friendly, gracious service even better. Thank you for a fun to time.
fantastic time with office xmas party! Food and entertainment were great. Will go back
Dietary restrictions: Has plenty of halal options Kid-friendliness: Very kids friendly Recommended dishes Vegetable Fried Rice, Lobster Tail, Miso Soup Parking space
A bit pricey
I ve been there once, but I definitely won t be going back. The food was terrible completely tasteless, with no real cooking skills involved, and the ingredients didn t seem fresh at all. Even the simplest fried rice was bland, which is hard to believe. The chef s performance was okay, but it s the kind of thing you only need to see once. I wouldn t bother watching it again.
Loved the experience every time! They provide halal meat if you request in advance. Dietary restrictions: Halal available upon request
Fun place for special occasions. Everyone likes the teppanyaki show. Good options in food. Generally good tasting food but sometimes the meat and fish can be over done a bit, depending upon the chef that you get. Pricy. Kid-friendliness: Great place to bring kids who will love the show, particularly the flames.
She lied about having halal meat when they ran out
Terrific food, presentation, attention to detail and service. Thanks Chef, thanks Fay!
Great experience, kids loved it!
A very good meal as always. Though the Sake selection is limited and expensive. Our server and chef were efficient and friendly. We had our table to ourselves which was a rare treat and enjoyed an abbreviated show and had time to sit and have a chat while relishing our well prepared meal.
Skilled chefs and tasty food. Friendly staff. If you enjoy seeing food cooked right in front of you with a flame show then this is the place you want to go Food
Family-friendly place. Excellent customer services
I recently dined at Hibachi Oakville and had a fantastic experience overall. The food was exceptional, with flavors that truly stood out and made for a memorable meal. The hibachi cooking show added an entertaining touch, making the evening even more enjoyable. However, there was a minor issue with service. My server accidentally spilled my drink, and unfortunately, it wasn t replaced or cleaned up promptly. Despite this hiccup, the rest of the experience was so positive that it didn t overshadow the great food and ambiance. I ll definitely return for the foodand lively atmosphere, but I hope for more attentive service next time.
I ve been going here for many years . Our last couple of trips we have noticed the quality of the cooks is way down. Our last cook , made our steaks so saucy after asking not to that after a previous experience. Also well done when asked for medium . The taste is bad . Cooks are not experienced and trained on the fly .
Great service and food!
I mean it is what it is but its a very in-your-face experience not recommended for introverts or people with sensitive hearing. I found the clashing of spatulas extremely painful to my ears. My son refused to eat due to the uncomfortable nature of the dining setup and an entire group just finishing their meal watching us from across the cooking area. Wheelchair accessibility: We brought a wheelchair into this restaurant and it was no problem
Amazing service, food and entertainment! Highly recommend!
Compare to other Hibachi, I like this location the most. Food is great, chefs are engaging with the customers, servers are friendly. But I wouldn t pay full price, I always use the coupon.
Good
Great food. Very attentive servers.
Hallal option available. They will cook it separately to avoid contamination. Food is great and the atmosphere is wonderful. Dietary restrictions: Halal
Best Hibachi location we ve been to. Fresh ingredients and experienced chef. Highly recommend and will return
Beef tataki 10/10 Beef Teppanyaki 10/10 Prawn tempura 10/10 It s my second visit and this place never fails to impress me. Btw, if you call well in advance they will arrange halal meat for you. Charges extra. Worth a try if you are found of authentic Japanese cuisine.
Good food Great cooking showcase Our server Fae was the best Food : 5/5
Great experience but the food was mediocre. Nothing you cant make at home, for a vegetarian.
So fun and entertaining. Food was delicious. Fair price too
Visited this place yesterday for a Mothers day treat for myself and my mother-in-law. Needless to say, everyone from the staff to the manager was so helpful. In mind you had a groupon, and it was not the correct day to use they still honored it, and we were able to eat. We are so thankful for everyone who provided the amazing service yesterday. The quality food/ delicious must I say was a delight to enjoy. It was fun, engaging and overwhelming such great people and atmosphere!
This was my second time at the location. As usual, everyone was welcoming, and the food and service were fantastic. I switched from steak to salmon, and they honored it no problem.
Fun experience, entertaining cook. Food is pretty good. Great cocktails. We went after the dinner rush (830pm)on a weekday night and found the place really empty - which was surprising compared to past visits that were more celebratory and fun. Not just a family or group experience and can also be a fun 1:1 date night. Lobster tail and scallops were an unexpected delight!
One of our favourite places to celebrate a special occasion.
Dinner was great. The chef was very entertaining and engaging as he was preparing our dinner. The steak was good although the chef prepared it as medium-well rather than medium. The noodles and veggies were a nice side for the meal. Staff is very friendly and quite attentitive. Would definately come back again.
Always a great time here!!
I like the food it was cooked properly. but the service is bad and the chef is worst. doesnt know more tricks. Just focus cook the food and leave from the place. Square one is better than this. I wont come again
Fun Amazing Fun Great food Food : 5/5 |
I went to hibachi for a birthday dinner. I love the ambience and the set up of the place. The waitresses were pretty attentive to our needs. I had a good time celebrating with my family but there are a few important shortcoming from my experience at hibachi. The chef/ performer on the farther side was awesome and I was trying to watch him instead of ours. Ours was clearly in training which is ok but I think we need to know before we start eating. He dropped my salmon in the vinegary sauce and expected me to still want to eat it and my boyfriend asked for another one for me. He gave me another one uncooked!!!! It was already late so I took the new piece to go since I was eating off of my boyfriend s plate. I am so sad about this and it was so gross eating this and not realizing until I cut it up. For staff info it was march 8th at the party furthest to the back. My server was an asian man wearing glasses. Vegetarian options: The vegetable fried rice was really good, as well as the miso soup. Dietary restrictions: Halal options
The food was okay but the service was bad. Our family had to hurry to choose the menu first place. The server was asking many times in a short time and at the end even if we were eating the server told other people was in waiting.. I know I have 90min for the table but not even 60min. We were there such a bad experience
the staff are very friendly, and the show was lovely.
So fun! Great packages and atmosphere and service! Can t wait to go back!
Had a great experience today at this Hibachi Bar for lunch. Stephano was our chef and was both entertaining and skilled when cooking the food. All the staff were also super friendly. 5/5
Food great. Performance great. Service slow. Staff doing the best they could...appeared under-staffed.
Amazing experience, food and service were top noch. Price was fair considering the quality and amount of food provided. Around 140 before tip with drinks, chefs special, and AAA stake and lobster tail. Highly recommend. Parking: Located in strip plaza, more than enough parking. Kid-friendliness: As long as parents keep an eye on them, great family experience
To be honest, i dont love hibachi. The food is not amazing, tends to be over oiled. The show is what your paying for.
Fun experience for the whole family - they offer halal options for chicken and steak which was a plus. Service was exceptional, food was standard but it s more about the experience of hibachi teppanyaki.
Super fun experience. All the staff were kind and attentive.
Loved the guy we had cooking for us... he was great. The lady who took our drink orders was fantastic. The service overall was attentive and basically exquisite. We didnt wait long for any part of our meal/service. I dont have one single thing to complain about. Our chef even got our table tbl to participate in catching the broccoli The food was great I also got some sushi and my partner and I shared his steak rice and veggies. Next time were staying on that side of town were definitely going to swing by this location. We recommend that everyone do the same! ** A word ... if youre looking for a quiet intimate experience w you and your partner. This is not the place for you. Youre seated w others and theres a lot of chatting and engaging between the Staff and ppl seated at your table.
The food was okay. The tricks are all the same no matter which location you go to. Didnt feel special and I could have booked a better place just for the food.
Had my work holiday dinner here. Group of 30. Everyone loved it. The chefs were entertaining, everyone (almost) caught the toss broccoli in their mouth and the food was delicious, there was so much food that people had leftovers to bring home. They were accommodating to peoples needs (allergies and halal options). I chose the lobster, filet mignon and chicken group meal. The staff were very accommodating and let me set up a gift table. Management were helpful in helping me organizing my event. Highly recommend for any work event or group. Will definitely return and bring my kids here.
Not for people with dietary restrictions. We had booked a halal table ahead of time for a birthday. At the restaurant, we were told that we were sharing the table/ same grill with non- halal meat. We reminded them that we had booked a table ahead of time to avoid mixing of the meat. They asked us to wait for a few hours until another table would be ready despite a booking. Never going back again! I have had better accommodations walking in at a bar.
Very disappointing. Paid extra for veggie fried rice and there was barely any veggies. Flagged it to the chef, he added more, but it was barely 1tbsp of veggies. Terrible. Showed the manager and she wasnt concerned. She has no problems charging money and not delivering in it. Shame on them. They didnt even take it off the bill, even when we asked for it to be removed. Not coming back.
A great dinner time and a great cooking show! We will visit again!
Great food and fun dining experience.
Food and service were fantastic!! Highly recommend and will return
Food was good but the lady came running after we paid yelling you didn t pay your bill while everyone was watching. We told her to go and check first before you run after customers and shout in the middle of the restaurant. Service needs to improve
I had the best time, they were very accommodating to thr amount of us, even the day before. I celebrated a birthday there..they were patient and kind while we organized. My chef was so funny and had such a fun personality..couldnt say the same about the other chef..but one chef had so much presence..ot made up for the lack of his! Got a cute photo and they also sang happy birthday! Definitely going again! Pricing was also very decent
Terrible horrible undesirable indescribable!! I d given zero stars if I could. I and my daughter didn t eat even a half of the teppanyaki dinner because it was inedible, way too salty, stale ingredients, tasteless sauces. When I complained that the food was too salty for us, she just said sorry and left us.???? If it was a 10 dollar hamburger, it might ve been okay but for 160 dollar teppanyaki dinner for two, they should ve done something to compensate for the bad unsatisfactory meal. Worst valued restaurant I ve ever been in. I shouldn t have left any tip.
Loved the atmosphere as always and food was delish chef and staff was so friendly
One of the worst experiences at a restaurant I ve had. Went to Hibachi in Oakville for a birthday as we had gone the previous year and really enjoyed it. This time was a completely different experience. First the chef didn t do half the show the other chefs performed. This was such a shame because the birthday dinner was for a seven year old boy. Second, the food was severely over cooked. The pricing for the food is quite high so you would expect a nice meal. This was not the case!!! The chef put all the proteins on at one chicken, steak, shrimp, lobster, scallops. Even I know that leaving shrimps and scallops on for the same amount of time as chicken is going to make it over cooked. Everything was chewy and hard. Inedible and we didn t want to eat it. When the server was advised, she apologized and said that we would get a free dessert. We were not happy with that and asked to speak to a manager. Manager said all he could do was give us 30% off our bill and gave us $20 off our next visit. To end the horrible experience, our bill arrived with only a 20% discount and on top an automatic 15% gratuity! Wow were we ever disappointed and when we confronted them they said we had 6 people in our party so automatic gratuity charge. Our party consisted of 4 children and 2 adults. Completely unacceptable and what a horrible way to treat paying customers. We wanted to not leave a tip for the poor service and treatment but couldn t. We will NEVER be going back to this location again!
Delicious food and fresh ingredients. And the chef was really energetic and entertaining ! Definitely recommend. Dietary restrictions: They have halal meat options (except for filet mignon) for an extra $5 !
Food is pretty decent but Id expect a restaurant like this to give free refills on drinks, and use actual glass cups. When you go to a decent restaurant you expect a little more quality, takeout container was like the one you get from mall takeout. Also automatic 15% tip on bill.
One of the best places I have visited! The Teppanyaki experience was one of a kind and very entertaining. We ordered the Deluxe combo and upgraded the plain rice to chicken fried rice - everything was so delicious! The assigned server was also very kind and accommodating. She had forgotten to bring out our sushi order, and the server took it upon herself to ensure the food came out as soon as possible. She also brought over complimentary spring rolls for the error, which was very kind!
Amazing as always
Dietary restrictions: They offer Halal chicken and steak if you make a request in 24 hours in advance. Food
was an awesome birthday celebration
This place is very nice, you dine around the cooking table. You get your plates prepared and served right in front of you. An elegant nice Japanese restaurant. We went with kids and friends on Christmas eve and enjoyed it so much :)
An overall good experience. The Teppanyaki cooking show was a bit short and not extremely entertaining, but everything else (food, service, cleanliness, wait time, etc ) was up to our expectations. Parking: Lots of parking spots on a weekday evening. Kid-friendliness: A nearby group with few kids celebrating a birthday seemed to be well entertained.
A fun New Years Eve night at a local spot. You know what you get here - the cooking performance, consistent, tasty portions and a collective eating experience.
Hibachi Teppanyaki and Bar 105, Cross Avenue, Oakville, Canada My last weekend destination to celebrate International Mens Day. This is a popular Group of restaurants in Canada. Hibachi Teppanyaki and Bar is a popular Japanese Steakhouse or Teppanyakiis. Post World War ll style of Japanese cuisine is available here. This kind of Japanese cuisine is prepared on iron griddle to cook food. The word - Teppanyaki is derived from Teppan, which is a metal plate on which it is cooked. Yaki - means grilled, broiled or pan-fried. The MasterChef will dazzle you with their samurai swordsmanship - as they slice, dice, juggle and entertain while preparing delicious food live on a sizzling Teppanyaki grill. Teppanyaki sets with Salmon , Shrimp, Chicken. Had the Chicken Fried rice. Also had Spicy Miso soup with it. Crab stick sushi was delicious. Seafood lovers would love this Japanese restaurant. Great food Lovely ambience Excellent service by chef. And its a full entertainment along with hot food served on plate. One of the best experience in a cold evening. A memorable dinner indeed.
Greasy
I celebrated my birthday here with a group of friends and had a great time! Kids and adults enjoyed it a lot. Service was amazing, very patient, kind and fun staff. They accommodated all our requests with thr best attitude. She cheff was funny and kept us entertained and the food was yummy.
Really good food, big portions, but pricey.
VERY FUN SHOW! Wish it was a little longer and more fire parts. The chicken is so good! Make sure to make an appointment, and get the $10 borthday special comes with a dessert, hibachi hat, workers sing with drum and PRINTED PHOTO! For sure a little expensive but it s not a everyday type of place so.
This restaurant is nothing exciting. My friend and I wanted to come here to experience a hibachi chef cook the food for us and make it an engaging experience, what we got is a sub par, toned down version of that. The chef must have been relatively new, kept dropping things, messed up the order and overall did not engage with the people at the table. The food was decent, however, not the level that I expected.
Great experience and good food. We were a group of 16 people, so there was a bit of confusion while serving. But the hostesses ensured that we were looked after and sorted the confusion right away.
One of our favourite restaurants. Food is always delicious with very fresh ingredients prepared right in front of you. Kid-friendliness: Kids menu available.
Service was terrible. Steak was very fatty. Nothing was great at all. And when I used the machine to pay by credit card, the server stood over my shoulder and demanded I add 20% tip. There was no mention in the menu, when I reserved or when we arrived of a mandatory tip. There were two of us. This is actually ILLEGAL unless the customer agrees prior as a gratuity is .. a tip the customer offers based on their service and good. You may want to consider giving good service. I will NEVER go back to the Oakville location!!!! I do not recommend it to anyone
Why are your employees asking for additional tip? This is illegal I came last night I was asked to tip a separate time. Ridiculous service. Never coming here again
Its amazing the food is so good and our cook was really nice. We only go every two years because its really expensive
A lot of fun! Great presentation by the chefs! Foos was prepared with flare to perfection.
This was my first time experiencing hibachi and it was an average experience. The food tasted better than how it looked, obviously because they make it in front of you and slab it onto your plate. For apps we got takoyaki and karaage and both were meh. The fried rice was the highlight of the meal. I got the steak and my friends got big portioned chicken yakisoba plates that were surprisingly flavourful. A big downside was that we had to wait a long while before getting our chef because we had to wait for another party, we arrived right when they just opened at noon.
Very good, halal menu. I tried their steak chicken and shrimps and belive me best experience. Faye help us she was real nice thanks
The food was delicious and portions were fair. This restaurant is much better than the restaurant in Burlington. I will be going to this one going forward.
Great place I really enjoy it. But felt a bit off when I had to pay for my refill after paying a $135 bill! I mean the coke refills should be free especially when you are asked if you would like one. Other than that I really enjoy this place
Absolutely the worst food ive ever had. We had to wait an hour for the food to start cooking in front of us. My chicken was dryer than the Sahara desert, and had zero flavour. This is the last thing from authentic, and they had the audacity to force a tip on my bill, when the party was just 4 people. Would never come back ever again.
Not a bad place for a medium sized group, but was expecting a little more after getting the most expensive thing on the menu.
First time, very disappointed, burnt food...very expensive and small portion..I was still hunger..I was very surprised...7 course meal...no, its the same portions as mall food....no worth it
The serving and food was good
Our servers were excellent at looking after our group. Very attentive, patient and courteous. Thank you! Food
We were in and out in 30 minutes. The guy was rude and gave out take out boxes while we were still eating. Food is okay
They were very accomodating to being gluten free. Super friendly with the kids and the food was delicious.
Great place to take little kids for dinner. The food is mediocre but kids love the show!
So much fun, great food and atmosphere
Took my mom here for her birthday. The food was a little too salty for me but the portion sizes are large and the atmosphere is warm and inviting.
Pleasantly surprised. I went there as a family of 4 with 7 course dinner deal and everything was above my expectations. From service to presentation to quality and quantity of food.
Overall a very good experience for our party of 6. Teppanyaki Set tasted great. Server and chef were very friendly. The only thing keeping this from being a five star review was that the drinks and desserts came out in a staggered fashion, we kept getting these 2 or 3 at a time instead of all six at once. Will be going back to enjoy this place again.
My family had great time tonight with the chef Chalana Ferdo. He s very friendly and professional. Chau helped us today and we re happy with her service. The food is phenomenal. Above all they have Halal meet and chicken! Over all it was great experience and would visit again with my friends.
I love this place and we always go as a family, never disappoints with the live cooking and fresh ingredients. Kid-friendliness: Kids will have a blast watching the chef cooking live
Great food, they need to work on the ventilation system, cloths become smelly after the visit
Me and my wife wanted to enjoy some authentic teppanyaki so we found a wagjag deal and decided to try this Hibachi restaurant. The night started poorly when the waitress said she wasnt sure what menu items were gluten free to accommodate my wife and that she didnt want to ask the kitchen because they dont know either. We asked if we could substitute any items and pay an extra charge but she said no you get what every you get with the deal. The deal came with sushi rolls and the waitress said all we could have was the sweet potato rolls so I begged her to change it to the avocado and cucumber...after going back to the kitchen she said she will accommodate us just this ONE time only. The chef that was cooking was really bad and did not adhere to basic food safety by using not only cooking raw meat and seafood on the same grill with vegetables and rice but ALSO using the same spatula to cook all the items at the the same time! Disgusting! None of the chefs were Japanese they did not use traditional japanese cooking style as they kept adding tons of oil and butter to the vegetables and rice instead of water and steaming them with a lid. The seafood was undercooked, the vegetables were saturated in oil and the miso soup was cold. It was my 24th wedding anniversary and ruined our night that was supposed to be a good memory. To say the least we will never be going back.
Very good place! Stefan was our chef for the night and did a wonderful job. Kept the food and jokes to a good amount for an amazing experience. Would definitely recommend someone to come!
The experience was very cool but there was something weird with the food. I had the chicken and steak. 3 hours after eating, I was taken to the hospital. Had a fever of 104, vomiting, diarrhea and my body was weak. At Creditvalley hospital, they told me I had food poisoning. It was upsetting since it was my bachelor party. Overall, I personally wouldnt go here but if you do , be careful.
Everything was excellent tonight and I was going to give a rave review, until we paid our bill. Never had we ever had a hostess call us out for the amount of tip percentage of 13%, that was a $30 tip for a family of 4. After the transaction went through she handed back the terminal and said there was a mandatory 15% tip, which if that was the actual case most restaurant ( high end) of a party of 6 or more will automatically charge you minimum 18%. This was poor etiquette on her part considering we had to ask twice because our drink and soup was not served. Gratuity has never been mandatory and it is always based on what a customer feels is appropriate based on the level of service you receive. Not impressed, and doubt we will be returning customers after this uncomfortable interaction with our hostess.
I went here for my birthday party, great service, food was good. Our chef and server did way beyond expected, I ve been here for a couple of times but this is by far my best experience. Will be coming back for sure!
Brought family here on a Friday evening. Food was good and chef was excellent. However, the service was suboptimal, especially considering the price. Waited 20 min after being seated for someone to give water and take drinks orders, multiple orders were missed/forgotten. Rice for some of the guests never arrived until the end despite asking for it. The waiting staff we clearly working hard but this place appears to be understaffed. They should restrict the number of allowed reservations rather than running a conveyer belt of customers. Bottom line: food is good, but service very suboptimal for price. Will not be coming back.
Very good service, food very tasty, fun to watch the chef prepare the food, definitely a place to go back .
The staff are really polite and their service is good. However I would say the food is subpar. Yes I went there for the hibachi experience and we did get that, but it would have been nice if the food was excellent too. The meat was cooked well but there was nothing special about the rest for the price.
Food was great. Spacious seating. Good service. Parking: Ample free parking
We ve been to this Oakville Hibachi location several times. Usually for a special occasion. This time around I d have to say the experience was disappointing . Our chef was obviously not experienced as he could barely crack an egg. He attempted the onion volcano trick but that ended in a big flame explosion. He forgot to cook our fried rice and had to scramble to the kitchen and then rush to fry it up while most of our table guests have already finished our meats. 15% mandatory gratuity must go! We did not have a large party. Just seems that you are trying to gouge the customer. Unfortunately we will not be returning back to this location.
When this restaurant first opened, I ordered take- out and the food was good. What I found daunting at the time, was the bad customer service, and the entitled attitude towards tipping. I order food to go, pick it up, pay for it and bring it to the car myself. What am I tipping for? Someone needs to explain the concept of tipping to some of these restaurant establishments. I have visited a few times after, since the food was ok, despite terrible customer service. I havent been for more than a year, as I find the food is very expensive and should be a once in a while visit. Yesterday I took a family member and an out of town friend there for the food experience(both first time). We went in for two separate orders, and the guy doing the take- out was having a challenging time taking the order and organizing it. Our first order was done at least 15 minutes before the second, yet the second order came out first with deficiency. We had to wait another 20 minutes for the first order, which came out partial and needed to be fixed again. We spent close to an hour waiting for the food. What was worst is when we inquired about the order, a staff came out with an attitude telling us that we already got our order. So I used the bill to point out that we had a first order that we havent received. There was no remorse. She walked away and our order came out after. The customer service is really low grade especially (as seen in other reviews) of an establishment so bent on tips. The food quality has also gone down. For that reason and customer service, we will not return nor recommend. Im sure they dont care as they will still get customers and customer service is not priority for them.
The cooking show of the server was entertaining but the food he prepared really sucks. My filet mignon was over cooked. The Fried rice and vegetables were dry and tasteless.
Sushi was terrible and the service was very slow. Overall the food is 3 out of 5.
I think it s a bit over rated !! Just another hibachi dinner, with some play & jugglery the cook might do with cutlery!! Could be better !!
3 Stars only because my kids didnt hate it. This place is an average Japanese grill. That being said, after calling, being incredibly clear about having celiac, and being promised that food is prepared in a separate area, I definitely got hit with all the symptoms after eating here. Upon sharing with the manager on duty , the level of care given was not up to par, she showed zero care, hence I am writing this so people that suffer like me wont be hit with their careless flagrant attitude. They should have taken more care, they did not use a separate area to9 prepare the food, and now I get to enjoy being sick. This left me incredibly disappointed with the experience here even though my kids enjoyed their meal. Another place to watch out for cross contamination they say they take care of, but it is not good enough in my personal experience today. I wont ever be going back and would caution anyone suffering from celiac to pay attention to how they prepare the space they cook your food on. Its not worth the suffering that comes... Dietary restrictions: Avoid if you have celiac. In my experience, they did not take due care to protect, and that is a big negative for this place.... Especially given how they advertise, they care... My experience was very poor, and after mentioning it at the end yo the manager, I did not ask for anything other than understanding they needed to take it seriously they were flagrant in their care, poor experience. I feel compelled to write this to warn others... Kid-friendliness: Birthday signing was neat.
Pleasant staff and incredible food, all packaged up in fantastic showmanship. Would recommend to everyone.
The experience overall and the food was not worth the price, definitely not a place I would recommend and the service was not very professional.
Rushed, all staff overwhelmed, poor service, terrible environment
Poor management. Poor customer service. Dysfunctional. Honestly - I suggest finding a different location or go to Iron Chef on Tomken. Arrived at 7:20 for a 7:30 reservation to celebrate an important event; we ended up leaving the restaurant at 7:50 without being provided any type of update on the status of our table. It was obvious they were short staff because a) the wait staff all seemed to be angry at each other (the hostess didnt know how to set up tables) and they were clearly yelling at each other and b) we tried to order drinks at the bar, but the bartender said I have a lot of other orders to take care of (which, if youve ever worked a bar, is a mindblowing thing to say). (And for the record the hostess said it was fine to go to the bar and get drinks while we waited) I advised the hostess that our party was leaving; she did not seem to care I asked if I could have the managements contact - which they refused to give/they didnt know. Their mismanagement and being short staff is definitely managements fault. But their customer service and attitude is definitely partly their own fault/poor training. If youre going to spend money on a night out - go somewhere else (we ended up at harbours landing just 3 minutes away).
Bought a travelzoo deal for our family. Quite enjoyed our experience there and all previous times we have been there. Food and service are of consistent quality. Stefan cooked for us..amazing...ask for him!!
Brilliant chef Stefan!!!
I actually cant say anything about the food because, despite making a reservation, it was never honoured. We made a reservation for a graduation on a Wednesday night at 730 (the restaurant even called the next day to confirm the reservation); we got there a little early and asked if we could wait in the bar. The bartender didnt want to serve is because it was too busy okay, so we kept waiting. Two other parties were seated before us - they were in the waiting area. When 7:45 rolled around, we asked when we would be seated and was told to keep waiting and that they never had our reservation... The entire time we waited, we watched the manager talk down/ belittle her staff, includong the bar tender. Clearly she was overwhelmed and couldnt handle the demands that night. We ended up going somewhere else to celebrate. Hopefully with a more well managed team, a reservation will be upheld and we can try Oakville Hibachi.
Sushi is not hand made but from molding. Wasabi has no taste, probably made in batches from a week ago. And the price is way too expensive compare with ordinary take-out places.
Such an amazing experience at this place with plenty of portions. Chefs do extraordinary tricks while cooking food for you and the best part is they have halal meat! Would love to go again!
A lovely date night spot in Oakville. We ordered the Deluxe Meal (I can t believe one person can finish this!), we added a soup and rice and it was perfect for 2 people. The staff were friendly and the service was entertaining and prompt.
I genuinely had a great night, we celebrated a birthday after the meal and all liked how amazing the atmosphere and staff were. Everyone was so attentive and helpful. 10/10 service. The show was good but nothing extremely special, I would say it s worth it if you want to try something new and never tried this before. It would be a great date experience I d imagine :)
Hi, we really enjoyed the food at Hibachi and the service provided was good. However, one of your servers forced and pushed me to provide a tip for the chef which is highly unprofessional and rude for a customer. A true definition of a customer service does not mention to force a customer to provide tips at a restaurant and the concept of pushing customers is unacceptable and rubbish. Everything else is really good, but this act has pushed me away to visit your restaurant again. Thank you.
Entertaining dinner! Fresh and our talented chef was so engaging. Great service too!!
Always amazing
Great food, great show. The chicken fried rice and chicken/filet is amazing!
The show was just above average for a hibachi place but what lacked for showmanship came through with their friendly and accommodating service and food. Everything tasted great.
The food was amazing! The chef was entertaining, funny, and engaging. It was very good overall.
The cook was excellent, and the food super delicious, we had a good time.
Great food and the service was outstanding! Faye was such a great waitress, she made us feel very welcoming. Will definitely come back.
Excellent customer service. The cooks are great and entertaining. The food taste is very plain. Need to add more herbs/spices.Need more options for halal.Didn t like the soup. There should be another option. Food is pricy. Food
Boring loud not quite the experience I expected. Food definitely not the star.
Absolutely love this place!!!
The cooks literally use the SAME UTENSILS to go back and forth between cooking RAW chicken and charring veg. The most basic knowledge of cooking is the simple food hygiene of not putting raw bacteria all over veg that doesn t get cooked. They also use the same utensil for the rice. So salmonella etc all over rice too. What s worse is that the cook DOES THIS IN FRONT OF YOU!!! You can SEE the food poisoning coming toward you in REAL TIME.
Great show! Veg and rice were delicious, meat was overcooked though
If you are looking for a nice evening with a lover or friend and tasting a wonderful Japanese meal, you should try this place
Excellent service and food. Pricey, but on par with other eateries of this type. I didnt like the 15% mandatory gratuity but I guess thats also what you expect in this climate. Overall a very good experience with drinks and live cooking. Recommend the Chefs Choice entree.
Very slow. Its frustrating that it takes so long and the restaurant is empty.
Highly recommend subbing fried rice for fried noodles.
Everything is great here with the exception of how the seafood is cooked. The chefs tend to overcook the scallops, shrimp and lobster. My lobster was very rubbery and chewey. Not the first time this has happened to me at this location.
This location is under new management and a lot has changed, Tasteless, Smell,Quality, has gone downhill. We were customers for 4yr unfortunately that has hit its end. I would recommend finding another place or location. P.s don t expect a great show at your table. Make sure you stress you don t want 1 lb of zucchini and onions dished to you because mixing veg is a difficult skill at Hibachi for at least the chefs.
We went to celebrate a birthday. Staff was very courteous and friendly. Food was good. Pricey though. Good for an occasional outing Dietary restrictions: They have halal options now. So happy!!
For the amount you pay the portions are rather small actually and the guy who cooked our food when we went, he literally tossed out all the white part of the three eggs he cracked and I was thinking ummmm you just tossed half of each egg there...ok. Never had my drink refilled or offered as much either. The place overall is ok but it definitely wouldnt be something Id be interested in spending that much money on again.
Its good place and eat halal as well.Over all ok if u want to enjoy live cooking.
Food was good, as expected however the show was disappointing. The chef did not interact with the table. He simply quickly made the orders and left, even though the restaurant was not busy
Nasty experience. Expected better as I have been here before. I had my daughters birthday there in November for 13girls. There were two trays of salad coming to our table with a tray directly on top the salad on the bottom tray. The trays were dirty and our host Aida or so said that is how they keep the food in the kitchen as there is no space. I took a look at the trays and they were quite dirty in and out. 2. Our chef was okay but burnt the rice. It was far from an exciting experience.
Had a really good time and excellent food. Huge portions and the Tepanyaki chef was wonderful value on the entertainment front. Will be going back.
Our first Teppanyaki in Oakville and it was a fantastic experience. The restaurant is modern, the staff are friendly, the food is high quality and our table chef was a lot of fun.
the food was a bit above average (everything had so much soy sauce and oil), the service was okay, the atmosphere was nice but not Japanese. The staff was Indian including the teppanyaki chef, and nothing wrong with Indians but imagine going to an Indian restaurant where all the staff including the chef was Japanese! It just takes away from the experience, specially when booking a Teppanyaki table. I do not think we will be going back.
Fun dinner. Food was good.
Food is always good. Service by the busboys could be better though. They dont speak, just drop stuff off without a care in the world and then leave. A hello or how are you guys tonight would be appreciative. Or even an excuse me when trying to grab a plate from in front of you. Having said that this wont deter me from returning as the food is great!
We had a group meal and they forgot to serve the main
Really good!
Outstanding Japanese delicacy !!! Truly a food lovers delight The fillet is magnificent and cooked to perfection Food : 5/5
Overpriced! Food isn t good. I would definitely not come back.
This was the worst hibachi experience I ve ever had. I had the after hours service with 7 guests for my birthday and they rushed the food, the rice was hard, they had to re-cook it and it still wasn t made with love. The meats were all over salted. The salmon was dry. And they refused giving a refund so my guests and I had to take it to go. None of my guests finished their plates. None of my guests were pleased and for this to be the one thing to make my birthday the worst is so terrible. I would not advise or recommend anyone to eat at this location. If I could have given a rating of 0 I would have. This experience was that bad. I m still so disappointed.
