Coloured lighting & circular booths create a modern vibe for traditional Thai cuisine.
Really enjoyed the experience there. The place is so zen, relaxing, clean and elegant. The service was very good, and the food's fresh and delicious. Will be back again to try different dishes. I highly recommend trying the mango salad and chicken pad thai.
A wonderful weekend brunch. Always like Thai food. Unexpectedly tasty, best of Oakville Asian cuisine. Highly recommended.
We went on Friday evening for family dinner. Overall we like the food and ambience of the place. Every dish we order was great in taste and presentation. Liked their eggplant delight most due to its different flavor and taste. In dessert we tried tropical mango icecream and sticky rice with Mango, both were good.
One of the most decent Thai restaurants in the west end of the city. Spacious dining room layout with a relaxing atmosphere, attentative service, and traditional menu. The food was delicious, moderate sized portions, and reasonable prices.
Absolutely fantastic! This Thai restaurant is a hidden gem. The food is authentic and bursting with flavor—each dish perfectly balanced with spices and herbs. The staff are friendly and attentive, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, making it a perfect spot for both casual meals and special occasions. Highly recommend to anyone craving genuine Thai cuisine!
I used to visit Thai smile and was saddened when I found out they closed permanently, after finding out Sootorn was under the saw management I had to try, the food was just as I remember, rich in flavour and texture. Service is never disappointing, the owners are normally around and extremely friendly. Highly recommend the pad Thai, spring rolls and mango salad.
Excellent service and delicious fresh food. We were a large group and were put in an intimate cozy area that allowed for conversation. We ordered an assortment of food and it was all delicious. Server recommended the tamarind shrimp and it was amazing!! Green curry chicken was delish. Fresh rolls were good. Pad Thai was ok, I found it a bit too mushy for my taste. Exceptional service refilling drinks and making sure we were happy.
The food was delicious and the service was excellent. We asked the staff for their feedback on the most popular items on the menu and their recommendations did not disappoint. The dry curry dish was one of the best we have had in an authentic Thai restaurant in a long while. The ambiance was also great. Will definitely be coming back again soon.
The atmosphere is classy but the food is a big no for me
My go to Thai spot in oakville.
Loved the pad Thai and the spring rolls were delicious as well. I certainly would have loved more quantity for the price but nevertheless tasted great. Decor is beautiful and they don t serve with chopsticks, bear in mind.
Good food and service.
Worse Thai curry I have ever had. Even food court Thai curry taste better.
Food is great . Service is a little slow
Loved the ambiance and great and delicious food! The price could be a bit more affordable but nonetheless definitely would return.
This restaurant is getting worse. We always have papaya salad, this time the peanuts taste very old, like sitting there for months. Pad Thai is very hard and sticky, not fresh at all, don t like it anymore Decent Thai food, overall best of the Halton Papaya (green) salad is super! I like green curry more. Prawns in the soup are so yummy The biggest advantage is the good environment The ingredients are good and the taste is OK. Whats more disappointing is the Thai fragrant rice that Im looking forward to, its dry and not fragrant The green papaya salad and green curry are both delicious
There were flies in their noodle twice this month- won t go there or do take out again from this place!
The food , drinks and service was very good. Its just a bit too dark in the restaurant.
Awesome food. We go there all the time. Friendly service. A bit dark inside.
Very bad
Atmosphere was clean and upscale. We had the pineapple chicken curry, crab fried rice, and yellow chicken curry. We had thai iced tea, which was too sweet and not as good as expected for $7. Rice was to be ordered separately for $3.50, which does not make sense for a curry dish. The bowl was also not as full as we would have liked. The flavours were good, not great. The curries were somewhat watery, and the potatoes in the yellow curry were hard and tasted like they had been microwaved or left out. The service was slightly uncomfortable, as they cleared our sharing plates immediately and would not stop refilling our water. However, our server appeared to be in training. Overall, we will not be back.
The atmosphere at this place is nice, although it s quite dark. The dim lighting could have been cozy, but it ended up feeling a bit dreary. The staff, dressed in traditional Thai attire, added a nice touch, and the decor was decent, with some elements that hinted at Thai culture. However, these superficial aspects were the only redeeming qualities. When it comes to the food, it was a complete disappointment. It felt like an attempt to cater to an Oakville crowd rather than delivering authentic Thai flavors. The dishes were bland, lacking the rich, bold tastes you expect from real Thai cuisine. It was clear that authenticity was sacrificed for a more watered-down version, which left much to be desired. On top of that, the portions were embarrassingly small, especially given the high prices. For what you re paying, you d expect both quality and quantity, but this place failed to deliver on either front. It felt like we were paying more for the ambiance than the actual food, which is not what I go to a restaurant for. Overall, the experience was disappointing. The food didn t even come close to what Thai food should taste like. If you re looking for a genuine Thai dining experience, I strongly advise looking elsewhere. This place just isn t worth your time or money.
Good ambience and service. Food was ok.
Amazing ambiance and food. Usually you don t have to wait too long if you don t have a reservation. I recommend this restaurant if you are looking for great ambiance and fresh food. Vegetarian options: I believe they serve halal chicken also.
The worst place to pick up food you have to wait for long time here for Uber orders. And I m encouraging all Uber drivers to give them 1 star and screw their rating on google until they change their attitude towards Uber drivers and waiting time
Favorite thai place in Oakville
We have come here for years and it s consistently excellent.
Very good shrimp pad thai! Would return if Im ever in the area. Thank you.
One of downtown Oakvilles best eats! The service is so welcoming and accommodating even to those with peanut allergies. Please ask the server to accommodate you. We keep coming back for the lovely experience. Food is very tasty as well as the drinks! Kid-friendliness: They have a high chair for small children. Staff was very kind to small kids.
Got fried rice and pad Thai - both amazing! Definitely recommend.
Excellent dining experience
The waiter kept asking if I wanted a cold beer or a salad. We had ordered appetizers and a main each. The upsell was just off-putting. I know its not his fault, he was probably coached, but just not in good taste. The place was also difficult to find as its in a square and the address is not listed on the outside of the building. Inside was also very dark. Hard to see our friends waiting for us.
Great food! We especially loved the fresh spring rolls, the curries, and the cold Thai milk tea. The price is also very reasonable especially considering the restaurant s refined and tastefully appointed decor. However, what makes the establishment standout is the excellent, attentive and very warm service provided by the staff, particularly Teddy!
I understand dimly lit restaurants but this place was just dingy and uncomfortable. Subpar customer service, the older woman taking orders is rlly unprofessional. The food was good but the ambiance and bad customer service just ruined it for me
Best Thai food in GTA
Im pretty sure if I showed the above dishes to any sane Thai person and mentioned that s Thai food they would fight me to death. That is the worst and pathetic mango sticky rice I ve ever seen in my life. The pad Thai is pretty much self explanatory.
Thai dood can be fantastic, but not here. Curry and noodles are very low quality. They were serving our mains while our starters were still on the table. The rice for the curries did not arrive so we were all eating alone. Not good service and kitchen planning
Location and ambience very good. Service is good, but not great. Food ok; far away from real Thai. Its twisted a lot. Mushroom was uncooked in the soup. Chicken cashew was nit even 10% close to real. If u tasted real Thai, then will not like this food much. Presentation ok. I will think twice before going there.
Very bad experience. When we were sat down, our server asked what we would like to drink, as expected. She then told us that « water, iced tea, ginger ale, sprite all is free» (grammar mistakes maintained for authenticity). We were quite happy about that, since a restaurant not charging for soft drinks is quite rare. So we ordered 2 waters and 2 iced teas. When we got our receipt, we noticed that not only was the iced tea $4 each, the 2 waters were a total of $16! Now I understand that the drinks costing money at a restaurant is expected, but they specifically told us at the start that it was free. Furthermore, charging $16 for water is just ludicrous. Might I add, they brought us 2 glass bottles of water when we ordered for 2 glasses, like at any normal restaurant. We realized that this definitely was not the first time that this kind of thing has happened to customers of this restaurant. Now the constant grin on our waiter s face the whole time made sense. We quickly paid and left, never again.
If I could give it more stars I would. Perfect ambiance and great customer service. The food taste and price was just right. Very clean bathrooms too.
They seems want to rush customer to finish the eating and give table to new customers. so they can make more money. almost want to take the dish away while I am still eating. this is very rude!
Have been here a few times and I love this place! Service was great as is the atmosphere..the dim lighting is a little extreme but not a big deal breaker. Food was incredible! For appetizers, we ordered the shrimp chips with this amazing peanut filling sauce, crunchy spring rolls and the best mango salad Ive ever had. For mains the Pad Thai is my all-time favorite. The curry and shrimp dish were also good. The fried banana with Icecream was mouth watering. Highly recommend
Great experience having lunch here twice now. Amazing ambience and atmosphere and the food was great too.
Delivery drivers aren t Allowed to use washrooms
We went here for a birthday dinner. The pad thai was phenomenal but the service made our experience and vibe very unpleasant. Not sure if maybe they were annoyed that we had a large group, but they gave us attitude the entire time. There was eye rolling and visible annoyance from our waitress when asking questions or about other manu items. The other servers would constantly pace around our table and stare. We were truly not doing anything disrespectful or negative, they just don t seem warm or welcoming to customers in any way and really made our birthday girl feel like we picked the wrong place to celebrate. Their entrance is also not accessible. Wheelchair accessibility: No automatic door buttons, difficult to maneuver around without assistance
Ambience: Wonderful ambience, very pleasant Food: excellent taste and authentic. Good vegetarian options Staff: Polite and kind Price: Little high, but worth the quality and taste
Fantastic on all counts. Great service and a meal that was clearly made with love. No notes! Food
Delicious fresh food, in an authentic athmosphere. Food just tastes as close to thai as one can get this far from Thailand. Friendly service.
Loved everything about this place. Great vegetarian options and friendly service right in middle of Oakville downtown. Vegetarian options: A lot of options for vegetarians.
I am absolutely not sure why they received only 4.2 stars. Party of 2 went recently. First of all, ambience really nice and cosy. Service fantastic. The staff and and the owner are about their food and the customer can see this. Excellent. Food, it was simply put, delicious. We liked everything, I mean everything ! From apps, to main to desert, fantastic. Will I be back, big fat yes.
Came here for an anniversary, and they handled and prepared the cake ! Very ambient restaurant with great food and most importantly the best hospitality. The service is the highlight of this restaurant along with the great food. The building and the atmosphere really drive the place to a new extent.
Ambience, food was really good. Still why a low rating? My family, including two young children, felt an unmistakable sense of unwelcome, which overshadowed the culinary journey we hoped to embark upon. From the arrival till we left the restaurant , we felt they kinda wanted us leave as soon as possible. For ex, rushing us to order, checking on us if we were done with our meals, handing in the cheque and just leaving the machine on the table, even before we were finished with the meal without even asking for it. While I understand that every restaurant has its ambiance and target clientele, hospitality should never discriminate based on ethnicity or age. Dining out is a universal joy, bridging cultures and generations, and it saddens me to report that our experience was far from this ideal. Kid-friendliness: Not welcomed. The discomfort escalated with subtle yet noticeable signs of disapproval towards my children s presence, making us feel as though their youthful energy was unwarranted in this establishment.
Great tasting food that isnt too pricey.
Perfect Thai experience, repeat customer every chance I get.
This is my second experience with them. I found hair in the food. They were pretty apologetic during my last visit and I didn t put the review but this time i had to. It was not in one but 2 dishes. Pls keep an eye on your food
Food, service, ambience... omg! So good. Will definitely be back
Best Thai in Oakville!!!
Fancy place with beautiful interior with good and affordable food prices... Recommended for dates
If you are looking for an absolutely special place with a wonderful, low lit ambience, incredible service and food to absolutely die for this is your spot
Really enjoyed our time here, will visit again soon.
Excellent food and service
Great food
Excellent Restaurant!
Authentic. Gorgeous. 20 years in Thailand and had to travel from Toronto to check this place out. Incredible authentic Thai with one of the most comfortable and classy settings one could ask for. This place is it.
Went for a birthday dinner. There were 6 of us, and we were seated in a cozy semi private area. Service was excellent. The food was SOO good! We had the mango salad (shared), phad thai, Siamese beef, ginger beef, cashew chicken, and two different curries, which were all excellent. I highly recommend. Although the light was dim, we could read our menus. Vegetarian options: We had both vegetarians and gluten free folks. No issues choosing from the menu
Food was amazing! The service and atmosphere was great too!
This place has great prices and decent food. The food here does not taste like authentic Thai food more like a westernized version of authentic dishes. I think they need to utilize holy basil and Thai chilies because right now the spice is not coming through at all.
Always great thai food...the shrimp done in tempura was great.
Great servers, excellent ambiance, and simply amazing food. The shrimps with tamarind sauce are to die for...
Never seen a more tip hungry staff. As a group of 8 adults we asked to split the bill. As we were not too hungry our bills came to $25 a head. The first thing that happened is that the 2 wait staff informed us that tip is not included in the bill. One person paid with a $100 bill and the waiter brought back her charge -$5 saying they don t have change. So she just kept back $5 on her own. The gall of her. Now my friend would have tipped well anyway but for the waitress to just not give back the right change is appalling. Another friend while paying the bill by card put in $5.00 but it billed as 0.50 cents. So after she paid the waiter (a different one) came upto her and asked her if this was a mistake and said we can correct it. And stood there while she corrected it. However the machine was in error as it still did the same thing. It s like they were stood there right in front of us making sure we all tipped what they deemed enough. At the end of the day. It s not about the money it s about the principal of the matter. You run a high end establishment. You should not be treating your patrons this way. Pay your staff better so they are not so desperate for tips. I ve dined in many many establishments. In extremely high end ones and also casual street food places. I have never seen anything like this behaviour.
Very good
Excellent Thai cuisine. Wonderful service. Highly recommend this gem!
cant say enough about the exceptional service we received at this restaurant. I failed to get the managers name but really want to thank him and his staff. we celebrated my moms bday we were a large group and couldnt be happier with the service, the food, the ambiance. the service though makes this restaurant stand out from all the rest.
Nice Thai restaurant. Enjoyed the stired rice with chicken
Amazing place !
Went here for new years eve dinner with a couple of my friends from out of town and it was absolutely delicious! We tried many dishes from the menu including spring rolls, chicken pad thai, basil chicken stir fry, and the flaming fish (I can t remember the exact name) and every single one was fresh, packed with flavour and different from the rest. The service was among the best I ve received in a long time. Our glasses were never empty and the table was quickly cleared away as we ate. The atmosphere was also super nice and the volume of the music and conversation was kept low which made the dining experience feel much more personal and intimate as opposed to having to yell across the table to hear each other like in other restaurants. I will most definitely be coming back here and bringing more friends to try. 10/10 recommend this place if you enjoy thai food or want to try it. It is seriously some of the best I ve ever had.
5 stars service, amazing atmosphere we had a very good experience. It is authentic Thai, not candianize.
The best Thai restaurant experience in all of GTA. The tamarind shrimp is a must ! Food
Rude staff
Had Thai vegetable soup. Mixed vegetables with rice. Mai tai to drink. Quite fancy atmosphere. Good service. But very few options for plant based diets. Nice bathrooms. Accessible.
Great food. Confusing service staff. Too many serving our table. Not a great table location. Ask to be changed if you feel in the middle of traffic Parking: Free after 6pm on Lakeshore Wheelchair accessibility: Not good. Too many stairs to get to the front door.
Highly recommend that you do not ever order from this restaurant. Their service is simply terrible. The last 3 times I ve placed an order here I ve arrived when they told me it would be ready, and had to wait 30 minutes each time. It s like they don t even start preparing your order until you show up. Simply terrible.
Bad service - Rushing through ordering the food, No one bothers to attend tables with smaller crowd. My only issue is (sadly) their service. Firstly, within 5 mins we got settled in our booth area , we were told by the server/waiter to order the food soon as we are very busy today and as matter of fact they were NOT BUSY at all - this was at 5:45pm and the 60% of the restaurant tables/booth areas are all empty. Anyways, we ordered one appetizer and decided to order entrée once they get our appetizer at our table. And then even before we got our appetizer the waiter comes again (within few mins we ordered app) saying you need to order quickly as we are busy!!! This PUT ME OFF!! (unfortunately, we couldnt leave as my kid was very excited to be at this place). We ordered the entrée and 30 mins later, we first got our entrée and 10 mins later after entrée we got appetizer!! Then they got the wrong dessert which took another 20 mins for them to get the correct order. So, overall we waited more than we relaxed to sit and enjoy the ambience and food. Great ambience! Perfect for a holiday dinner with friends and family or a cute romantic date or a girl friends dinner. Food is OK, I wouldnt say it was the best Thai food I ever had but for the price, the taste and quantity is fair.
Parking: Street parking has time limitation Food
Bought fried rice with pineapple off uber - the rice was soggy and wet! Worst rice I ever ate. Disgusting. The only thing fresh was the spring rolls.
Ordered take out and found a bug most likely looked like a cockroach in the middle of our pad Thai . Most disgusting thing I have ever experienced!!!!! Do not go here!!!! I have uploaded a picture of the insect fro reference under photos
One of the best Thai places I have found. I have come here several times, love the green curry!! I will continue to come here as it s my fav Thai place :)
Enjoyed a birthday lunch in the late afternoon for my sister. The decor was beautiful as well as the warm welcoming servers. We ea h had different meals and everyone loved it. The shrimp chips with peanut sauce were amazing! We will be returning.
Romantic dining experience with delicious food, served by friendly and attentive staff. Very impressed with this restaurant and definitely worth the drive out of town!
This place is horrible. I ordered the spicy noodle chicken and it was soupy. Might as well say it s spicy soup with a side of noodles. Very disappointed. This was my first time trying this place and I ve never seen soupy Thai noodles until now. They got our order mixed up which doubled the wait time and it was $40 for two undesirable servings. This place is a hard no for me.
We went there on Valentine s Day for dinner. The restaurant itself has a lovely ambiance but the service and food was disappointing. We were sitting for 15 mins before someone came to take our order or even offer water. Our waitress finally arrived after I asked for her. My soup was served 5 mins before my husbands, so mine got cold waiting. Our cocktails arrived much after the soup. My lychee martini was sugary sweet, like sipping syrup out of a lychee can. They offered to get me another one which was completely bland. Our entire dinner was served and laid out on the table while we were still having our soup. We finished and waited 20 mins for someone to come and clear the table and offer the dessert menu. A waitress did clear the table and then she brought the bill without asking if we wanted dessert! When I pointed that out to her, she said Oh I thought I had asked you , which she clearly had not. My expectations for this restaurant were higher. The food was very average and with service like this I m not sure we will be returning.
Great dinner. It was a bit dark but you get used to it. Watch out for the green curry. It is ++ spicy and there was no warning about it. Portions are good. They didnt have chip sticks which was weird. Prices were reasonable. Would go again. Vegetarian options: Yes there are many
I ordered chicken noodle and the taste was amazing.
Had a pretty poor experience. The service was very poor, and I wouldn t go again with a large group, or for any special occasion. Gave 2 stars for food, but there are other restaurants in the area that have great service and food, and that you can have a great overall experience, which this place cannot provide. They seemed to just want to rush us, and just wanted us out of the restaurant. They also weren t very friendly, and when we asked if we could move, as we were right next to the door in -7 degree weather, they were unwilling to do anything. I had placed a reservation about 8 days ago, so it was not like a last minute call for a large group, and I think they could have saved a better table for us, especially since it s a pretty big restaurant. Also, there were definitely places we could have sat, but they just didn t want to do anything. We were taking pictures, and the waitress had no patience to just wait a second before placing our food, in this tiny cramped space next to the door. For desserts, the waitress just barked at us that the kitchen was closing, and to hurry up to order. I understand that the kitchen was closing, but if she wasn t so rude, we d probably have ordered 2-3 desserts. Food was great, but because of the service, I wouldn t bring a large party or anything. Maybe take-out. Definitely other places for dine-in Thai food.
Nice restaurant!
Good Thai place Loved the ambience! We ordered lemon chicken soup, assorted appetizers, forest curry(recommended), Pad Thai chicken (9/10), and Fried rice(9/10)
The food was delicious but a little bland. We asked for not very spicy and that was good but flavour was low.
Really really bad service ...everyone has so much attitude ....we go there for food which is 10/10...but service 1/10
I ordered take out from here a couple times and we celebrated my friend s birthday here too. Food was okay, mango chicken is weird, staff is nice but the owner is so rude I m not sure if he is the owner or manager or who he is, I just hope you won t encounter him when I visit this restaurant
First time dining in and loved the experience. Very friendly service and a classy ambience. I would recommend the dine in experience. Kid-friendliness: They accommodate kid friendly food options.
Loved the food and restaurant. Great staff too.
A beautifully decorated Thai restaurant and delicious food.
Awesome food, great ambiance!
Fantastic service Good food Great selection
Good food and great service. Nice place in downtown oakville in a cozy location.
Ambiance is incredible, very beautiful inside. Food was amazing. Service was great. For the amount of food, it was a great price.
This place is absolutely stunning. The ambiance is so romantic. Food is delicious ! Best dish - chicken pineapple curry (Red | replace chicken with tofu) Vegetarian options: You can replace any meat with Tofu with any dish !
I ve been visiting this restaurant for many years. The staff are always welcoming and friendly. The menu is diverse with lots of tasty options. The decor is timeless and pricing is reasonable. Looking forward to returning again soon!
Bahn Thai never disappoints ! Good food and Good service .
One of the best authetic Thai food restaurants in GTA. Fragrant and fresh flavors. Would highly recommend green curry, mango salad and banana fritters.
Sunday May 14th around 3:30PM - The food was amazing and my mother was really happy being there for Mother s Day. It is one of her go-to spots for Thai food especially. We did unfortunately have some inconveniences. From the way we had to order , the waiter unfortunately had nothing to jot down on, so it was mostly just verbally and trying to remember. Which lead to an order being messed up in the process. When the food came , a lady accompanied our waitress with the wrong food saying if this would do instead , I kindly requested if I could get what I ordered instead, and I said thank you and everything. I smiled and showed 0 rudeness and thought I was being reasonable. The lady walked away with the food slowly and kept staring at me. It really did look like a hostile stare. My family and I just shrugged it out with the benefit of the doubt but it did leave some of us very uncomfortable . After the right food was brought I was pretty worried to eat it even , that s how hostile that stare was. Obviously after a while we ended up finishing it and the food was really good. We would come back here no problem but hopefully these things could be avoided next time. The food can only be so great but if the staff isn t well prepared and there wasn t this much hostility shown, it would ve been 5/5. I m sorry if this review comes off as harsh.
Really nice shrimp rolls and pineapple fried rice. Great atmosphere.
Very good ambiance and food tastes great. Prices are on the higher end compared to other thai restaurants. Flaming fish dish is a must try here
We love this restaurant so much, my family and I drive to Oakville from Kleinburg to dine at this restaurant almost every other week! The place looks great! The service is always excellent and the food quality is great and consistent! Even the shampoo and the towels at the washrooms are handpicked and smell great. This restaurant is is doing everything right. Great job! Thank you!
The interior of this restaurant is so beautiful, but the customer service was horrid. We went on a Monday when it was pretty quiet, only 1-2 other tables of couples being served. There was one male and one female who was attending to everyone in the restaurant. You could tell they treat their regulars with much more attentiveness and good service. The regulars were offered drinks right away and their food came much faster than ours even though we came 20 minutes before them. Never once were we approached to ask how our food was so far. Food was good but I guess smaller portions for the price, but what really dampened the experience was the poor customer service. Don t trust their online menu because there isn t lunch specials during lunch time. We asked about it and even though it was lunch time, the male server said uh no lunch specials right now. Only fixed dinner menu for 12pm on a Monday. Overall, beautiful restaurant, cold customer service.
Nice place. Very good food.
Good food. Halal options.
Decent spot in a nice area but I ve had much better Thai food. The ambiance was nice to dine in but its way too dark inside. I saw people viewing the menu with their phone flashlight. Service was mediocre as the servers never really checked on us.
Excellent place in Oakville. Great food and service.
Phenomenal food Have been here twice and it s seriously so good! Food : 5/5
Best Thai food I have had in a very long time. Top notch service. Very elegant and tasteful decor and perfect Thai hospitality! Kid-friendliness: Spice level is quite acceptable for kids
Menu items so hard to read as it s soooo dark in there. I ve been here a few times and this is definitely my last time EVER. Service is terrible. They tastelessly up sell ALL the time. It wasn t busy but one of our servers was sooo rude and she wasn t even our main server. We asked for separate bills and they said it s too much trouble for them to do that. Like what?! They automatically charge tip and our group was only 7. I personally think they do that because they know themselves service is terrible so it s a way to make sure they get their 20%. Portions are small. This area is full of great restaurants and personally I think the host could of selected better ambiance, great service, and better food.
Great service, food, and drinks. The atmosphere is really nice and calm.
The food was amazing, the spicy fish oh so yum, I also ordered veg fried rice that portion was a joke for the price, also the mango sticky rice was great but the portion for the price was too less but overall excellent food, enjoyed it Dietary restrictions: Gluten free widely available
My friends and I had a great experience at soon torn bahn. The food was delicious and it was not long of a wait. I do recommend making a reservation. It was busy on a Friday evening and there was not many tables left. I got the chicken siamese beef and the chicken satay. They were both delicious. The ambiance was very nice and the staff was attentive. No compliants.
I recently went to Soontorn Bahn Thai with friends for lunch. The restaurant has a nice interior, but I found it a bit dark, making it challenging to read the menu without using my phones light. The service was a bit slow, especially considering the place was relatively empty, with only 2 other tables occupied besides ours. However, the redeeming factor was the delicious food they served. The flavors were impressive, and the dishes were well-prepared. Despite this, Im uncertain if I would give it another try. The overall experience, considering the service, ambiance, and price, left me somewhat hesitant to return. I might explore other options in the future for a more satisfying dining experience.
Great food and service
Excellent Food - Helpful Staff - Nice Ambiance - Recommended - Detailed Review Below Small, independent Thai restaurant serving exceptional Thai cuisine. The flavors are fresh, and the dishes are well-prepared. We have been to this place multiple times and always enjoyed ourselves. Recommendations include: 1. Mango Salad 2. Pad Thai 3. Chicken with Red Curry 4. Thai Fish Verdict: Recommended Food/ Quality - 4/5 Location/ Ambiance - 3/5 Price (Value for Money) - 5/5 Service - 4/5
Ive actually rarely had a worse experience and never returned food before. Greedy, money grubbing owners. Things went wrong almost immediately when my $7 thai iced tea was all ice in a glass so narrow there must have been like 50mL of actual drink in there and like 2 millimeters of the condensed milk on top. We shared the $30 appetizer platter (which they tried to upsell add ons for) and were kind of disappointed that for that price we didnt even get one fresh spring roll to share between us, at first we thought it was a piece of sushi, like, what do they do with the other 3/4 of the roll, wait for someone else to order another platter? We ordered salad for our mains since we thought it was insulting that they charge extra for the rice that always comes with the curries elsewhere. Still, we were feeling optimistic but then my main came out. I ordered the Thai salad and it was the most bland dish Ive ever had, two pieces of tiny tiger shrimp and two very thin pieces of unseasoned pale chicken and roughly chopped vegetables that made it feel like eating a grazing board, the sweet vinegar sauce on the side didnt help at all. I felt so disappointed that I did something I never do, I asked if I could kindly order a different dish since absolutely nothing on the dish appealed to me in any way, the manager or owner is who I suspect I was talking to, said shed bring me peanut sauce but I really felt like that wouldnt help at all, and kindly asked if it would be possible to get another dish, after making it clear at least 5 times in response to her asking that I didnt want the peanut sauce I asked her to stop talking in circles and asked if shed replace the dish or not. She offered me peanut sauce. At that point I returned the dish and said no thank you to anything he offered, including her attempt to upsell us on dessert. Im convinced how dark it is in there isnt for the mood. At this point Im sure theyre even pinching pennies on their electricity bill.
The worst dinning experience ever. They sell the most expensive ice tea I had in my life, $7 for a thai iced tea in a nerrow glass full off ice. Service was terrible, they sold us extra side dishes where we thought it was included in the meal. The place is way too dark inside, making it almost impossible to read the menu. The service was slow, considering the place was almost empty.
Beautiful atmosphere with fantastic food and service.
The curry and squid were great. I was expecting more from the pad thai, but will ask for some spice next time.
The food is ok but the service really needs improvement.
Excellent food, very friendly staff, relaxing atmosphere. Prices are more than reasonable. Very enjoyable decor. Food : 5/5
We went here without expectations, but we were blown away by the quality of food and service. The ambience is warm and welcoming. We booked a table for four and the server (Ted) was kind enough to move us to a quieter spot as there was a bigger group next to us. We ordered the spicy red fish curry and green chicken curry and cannot recommend it enough. The desserts were scrum dilddly umptious. The pricing is extremely reasonable. Every one here welcomes you with a smile. Enough cannot be said about the taste quality of the food. Easily one of my favourite spots in Oakville. 10/10 best Thai place in Ontario. Vegetarian options: Available Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly
Nice food; good service; spacious; it s recommended. If the light is not that dim, it would be perfect.
I didnt like this place. The food was weird. Sweet fried fish. Brr. Mango salad consisted just of sliced mango and two lettuce leaves, Very strange flavor combinations, Overwhelmed. Noodles were soaking in a strange souse. Food
Very disappointed, the food is no longer the same before
Very tasty halal thai cuisine. The chicken is halal
Nice environment and restaurant. Food and service was good.
Wonderful restaurant right downtown Oakville. Thai food is excellent and the atmosphere is very peaceful and relaxing. Highly recommend.
We went to this restaurant in search of good Thai food and we found the ambience and hospitality of the restaurant too good ! It was well decorated and beautiful place. The food was fresh and tasty.
Extremely disappointed with this place. I was picking up a delivery order and was treated very poorly . I urgently needed to use the washroom facilities and was denied due to the washrooms being only for costumers. Now am I not a costumer if Im picking up an order ?? . Isnt the owner of this restaurant making money through delivery? I was told to go to a washroom more than a block away and I couldnt hold it. Felt very humiliated
Food was fantastic and well worth the price! Service was terrible, they sold us extra side dishes where we thought it was included in the meal and messed up our appetizer order. Also lighting was poor.
Service was impeccable, and the food stretched beyond the usual that over might see at a Thai place. Chicken salad was amazing, as were the shrimp cakes. Most notable was the green curry, which was delicious, but also quite different from others Ive tried. Highly recommend.
Pretty good Thai place in a beautiful location at the heart of Oakville. The interior is perfect for an intimate dinner with a friend or partner. The vibes are fancy with good food and decently priced options. My favourite dishes were the tamarind shrimp and fish, which in my opinion were 15/10. You will only agree if you love spicy Thai food and tamarind flavours. The curries were also amazing, but go for the seafood ones - fish and shrimp. Pair that with a nice Thai iced tea or pina colada. The chicken curries and stir fry were mediocre quality and I would not recommend getting those. Finally the spring rolls were good start to the meal.
Everything is made for customers Vegetarian options: Sorry I dont know their name Kid-friendliness: My grandson enjoyed the chicken
Top end fine dining restaurant. Amazing food and great service. Tried their tom yum soup, fried rice, 4 flamed fish, pad thai, garlic beef. Everything was amazing.
This has to be one of the best Thai restaurants in GTA
One of the best Thai restaurants Ive been too. Amazing fresh tasting food. A very nice ambiance for dining and great location in the heart of Downtown Oakville.
Good choice when visit downtown Oakville
Excellent Thai restaurant
came there with my sis and baby to eat but was appalled when they seated the 2 people after us(who doesnt have a reservation btw) then right in front of our face told us theyre already full they picked the people behind us to seat when we were the first ones to arrive just becoz we have a baby and a stroller. they still shouldve accommodated us we came there first. felt discriminated. racist and awful customer service. not accommodating for family. dont eat here if u have a baby. the guy also told us we shouldve come the day before because they are not full. funny. which for us was not a good approach to the situation it is not a good way to treat a customer. save ur money and go elsewhere i dont recommend and will never come back. Kid-friendliness: not accommodating for families with babies/kids.
I was really disappointed with their horrible customer service. I went there last night with my sister and her baby. We came in first and there was a couple behind us. We do not have a reservation and so as the couple behind us. The staff at the front who was holding a piece of paper, called them first instead of us and gave them a table. After that, the guy showed us the table and wants us to finish our food at 7:30pm coz there s a reservation. He gave us a time limit to eat and he should ve accomodated us first instead the couple behind us. He is unfair, racist, and discrimating to us. I will never go back there again and would not recommend it to everyone I know.,
I had dinner here. The ambience is amazing, staff friendly and observant. The food is fresh, flavourful and tasty.
First time to this restaurant to celebrate my daughter s sweet 16 birthday because she wanted Thai food ! And wow all I have to say it is 10/10 from the food to service and the beautiful ambiance ! Highly recommend and will definitely be back again !
The food is great. Ive ordered here many times. But if you are ordering take out, either delivery or pick up be prepared to wait anywhere from an 1hr or an 1 1/2hrs to get your food(this has happened to me multiple times now). They arent honest about the wait times for food, which is a disappointment. If youre hoping to get your food in a timely manner look elsewhere.
The green curry chicken was way over cooked that it was so hard to chew on.
I really enjoy the food!
Had dinner at this place with a few friends. Food was delicious, service was good. We sat outside but the interior of the restaurant was beautiful. Service was also good.
I work right down the road from this place. I have only ever ordered delivery from this restaurant so far and it is my favourite way to treat myself when working late. Absolutely delicious food. Every. Single. Time. Pad Thai is one of my favourite foods and of all I ve tried this place has my all time favourite. I can t wait to dine in soon!!
The food and service are nice, and cozy environment. The food is not large portion. Curry doesn t come with rice so extra $3 for rice on top of that. Inside is really dark, especially the washrooms area, we use phone s flash light to find it and it s a little bit difficult to find the lock of the door.
Pretty good Thai food to come across in Oakville. Loved the ambience and the traditional outfits the servers were dressed in. I really enjoyed the tamarind fish delight and golden squid. Couple downsides were the Thai milk tea being way too sweet and their pad Thai was average (high hopes for my pad Thai every time I try a new Thai place). Lastly, although they are open until 10pm, we were given the machine before finishing our dessert even though the table next door was still eating and even came before us. All in all, not a bad experience.. I ll probably come back to try some other items on the menu
Went there with a group of friends, restaurant is very beautiful, and loved the art pieces. We got there when the restaurant just opened so it was empty, we had a reservation, but we were able to pick our table and we sat on the beautiful cozy table they have on the back. Our server was very nice, and courteous. Food was very good, and very tasty. Definitely a place to come back and try a different dish.
Wonderful experience at this restaurant. Gorgeous interior with great furnishings. Staff was so friendly. Food was great too. Would recommend to anyone looking for a 10/10 Thai food spot
Second time at this restaurant. Food was really good this time as well. Chicken green curry and the Siamese beef were both amazing. Not sure if it was just an off day but the service was really bad. The staff were really disorganized. No one brought us water or took our order for a while after we sat down. When they finally did take the order they only brought part of the drinks order out. We had to remind them a couple times before they remembered. That level of service continued through the evening with items forgotten or staff asking us something that another server had already asked about. Even when paying the bill, it was paid and then another server brought the bill again lol.
A nice restaurant with a very friendly and welcoming staff. Place looks clean and has a very unique look and feel. Food was good and tasty. Didn t take a lot of time to prepare. All good we re tasty and the Spice Rice Noodles and Mango Salad are highly recommended.
Came for lunch around 12.30pm and there was less crowd. Ordered spicy chicken Noodle and it was awesome. The food was great and the atmosphere was great. You can enjoy authentic Thai food and the Thai environment at the restaurant. Prices were affordable and I highly recommend this place.
Place looked nice server was ok but food was really bad and really expansive for small portions I would not go there again and to advice people not to go there
The place looks amazing and I would like to think I landed up on the wrong day when they were understaffed. Despite the restaurant not being busy, service was slow. They got my order mixed up so waited another half hour to get my right order. Veg curry needed more curry. Flavours were good, but overall an underwhelming experience given it was my first time there Vegetarian options: They checked if I would prefer the curry without the fish sauce, appreciate that attentiveness. Good variety of veggies used and all fresh. Parking: Lots of paid parking in Oakville so even in a busy Friday afternoon I found a spot to park close by. Reasonably priced too.
Order Sticky Rice with Mango dessert to go, and this is what I got. $12.95 for such a small portion, I mean, seriously ??
I think they could up their game on the food side. The meals are pleasant, but lack inspiration. The setting and service are good.
The food is outstanding and servers are good too The lady at the front desk/ reception is exceptionally mean and rude Not a friendly face or a helpful person, not even courteous to say the least about her Food : 5/5
Sadly, we had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. While the food was only ok, we were there to visit with friends and were rushed from the moment we arrived. We had a reservation for 6:30 and they were asking for our order before we had even sat down and before our friends had arrived. The entire experience felt rushed. We were ushered out an hour later. They needed the table for an 8:00 reservation. For a $65 per person I expect better. The one star is for the mango salad- it was delicious.
Great first experience. From Chicken Satay and Soup starters to Tamarind Fish, Garlic Shrimps, Pad Thai Chicken & Shrimps and Fried Rice with Pineapple, everything was delicious and unique. Quick turnaround despite weekend rush and service on the mark. Not to be missed
Will start with the positive ; the restaurant is beautifully decorated with pieces that seem authentic . The servers outfits are stylish and elegant. The seatings are a bit low fir me , the lighting is bad , we were not able to read the menu , lucky we had in our party a young gentleman who was able to read the menu and order for everybody . Service was ok but I have to comment on the fact that our drink orders ( beers ) were brought to the table along with the glasses but we had to pour in our glasses . The food was bellow average . The mango salad was too chunky and the dressing too sweet , the spring rolls were gummy (probably they were sitting for a while ) and the peanut sauce was too sweet . The Siamese beef was rather good , the shrimp was a good quality but the chicken was like leather . All the veggies were undercooked , the rice was cold and overcooked . I have listed all these complaints not as a criticism but in hopes that the restaurant will take them in consideration and improve Vegetarian options: The vegetables were undercooked , the mango salad was not chopped properly , way too chunky and unequal
Great restaurant indeed. My wife loves it too and Im most likely going back there to celebrate my birthday soon.
I have dietary restrictions and called to see if the meal I was interested in ordering contained an ingredient. The individual that answered the phone replied, Obviously . I was so stunned that I asked him to repeat and he said Obviously. Of course it does. I ll never order from here. Treat people with kindness. Dietary restrictions: Lack of dietary restrictions and rude about it.
Decent food, friendly staff. Would like to try dining in next time, as I was slightly disappointed with the food. (We did take out)
Portions have been reduced and prices have gone up since my last visit in September.
