Soulyve catered our wedding, and we couldn’t have been happier! The food was absolutely incredible—our guests are still raving about it. Chef Phil’s creations were so flavorful and unique, and his energy added such a great vibe to our special day. From the tasting to the big day, the team was a dream to work with—quick to respond, organized, and so accommodating. They made the entire process feel effortless, and their attention to detail really showed. If you’re looking for amazing food and a team that truly cares about your experience, I highly recommend Soulyve!
Private chef dining alert! Chef Phi DeWar created a custom 5 course dining experience for 10 people in our home. A world class meal combining local produce with an international flair. Everyone had an amazing time with spectacular food, drinks, stories and discussions!
I'm so happy this place opened in Orangeville! We needed Jamaican patties 😍 and these are sooo good! I've been multiple times and ordered something different each time and everything has been amazing. Highly recommend the Vytal Veggie patty for any vegetarians out there– that one is my favourite! I'll be back, obviously :)
The experience, flavor and customer interaction with the staff and owner at Soulyve was bar none. The food was taste and brings memories of home. Soulyve is a refreshing addition to the already great restaurants in the Dufferin-County Region. Come experience Soulyve.
I am so glad they're back!! I obviously ordered a power patty, and of course, it didn't disappoint! It was exactly the same as I remember, if not better! I'm so excited to have my favorite patty place open again! I can't wait to try their other items on their menu
They have opened back up as Lyve making patties & rice bowls & it’s even more amazing with the new patty creations. I tried the Lyve patty & the Ruben & not sure which one I loved more, both were off the charts. So many flavours in both these patties. I highly recommend going to check it out. Then even have a breakfast patty to try 🤤 Glad to have them back!!
Excellent food! The ackee and salted codfish, and the reggae wrap were favourites. Doubles are also very good and generally the food is not very spicy as one may expect. Great service, friendly staff, and the outdoor seating area is really nice too. Definitely would recommend and would go back.
I randomly found this place when we went for a hike at Hockley Valley. Food is reasonably priced and great portion size. The food is flavorful, just how you would expect it. However it does not have the Carribiean heat. I believe this was a fusion place hence the heat was on the milder side. Overall its a great place to grab a few drinks and enjot some great food. Try the patty..its delicious! Oh and yes, the staff are really friendly and sweet!
Today I had the pleasure of ordering food from here, which their main thing is catering, but from 11am till 4pm they serve the public. Honestly all I can say it is one of the best stuffed patties you will find, the jerk chicken was on point and spicy, the coco bread was fresh and delicious and they even made us some fresh festival just cause I asked about it. Phil and Sebastian were absolutely wonderful and friendly to talk to. Highly recommend for anyone who enjoys this type of food. I called my order in advance and it was fresh and delicious. I am so happy to have found my new stuffed patty jerk chicken spot. The food is absolute
10/10 Patties and experience. A spot you can t miss. Just need to add the wraps to the full time menu
Chef Phil and Soulyve catered our ~100 person welcome party at GoodLot, and the food was fantastic - the guests loved it. Highly recommend!
The jerk chicken and the oxtail with a side of fried plantain, Absolutely DELICIOUS amazing food great price friendly environment. Will definitely be back for more !
First timer dining at Soulyve. The paintings of Bob Marley, island culture, Trini and Jamaican flags, and some products for sale etc. Were all nice touches. We had the following: * Cajun catfish tacos - 8 out of 10 * Jamaican patty - 10 out of 10 * Doubles - 0 out of 10 * Plaintains bruchetta - 10 out of 10 This restaurant is very much a Jamaican restaurant with a sprinkling of Trini. Now I dont know everything about food, West Indian food, but I KNOW Trini food, plus I KNOW what tastes good and what I like. Having said that, the doubles was not good, at least to my liking. Doubles is very light, never heavy. * The bara was a too heavy and the curry was burnt so the doubles had a strong bitter burnt curry flavour. * The filling was too thick and too much like the bara. * The tamarind sauce can be improved. It was too dark and bitter. Tamarind sauce is usually sweet & savoury with a bit of a golden brown/brown colour to it. Service: Waitress: Cleanliness: Food: I hope to return to try more of whats offered. Their oxtail looked delicious.
One of our favourites.
Friendly service, food came quickly, delicious as always, the jerk chicken reggae wrap is our favorite and the prices are excellent. Plus love the island vibe and music.
AMAZING! everything, the service, the food.
Very good jamaican fusion restaurant with excellent menu and patio. Very few jamaican restaurants offer a pleasant sit down environment, a nice change to the over the counter stool window seating standard. I testing take on jamaican cuisine, worth a visit.
Best place in town!
jerk salmon was fantastic
Loved it!
Great spot, always excellent food and service !
Very good food
Good food, nice staff, fair prices, good atmosphere. Bring cash/debit as they dont accept credit.
Always friendly service and great food to go or onsite in the dining area or on the porch once the warm.weather reruns. Try their awesome samosas, plantain bruschetta and or power patties to start your meal.
Excellent as always!! Love the food and service!!
Great atmosphere, very friendly staff and SO delicious! It s really so nice to have some vegan options without sacrificing flavour! And what better way to top it all off than with a cold pint of the BEST craft beer: Goodlot!! Thank you Soulyve! I will be back!
Delicious food, great service and enjoyable ambiance!! Loved it!!
Always superb! Staff are great
Amazing food and great service! Come here all the time!
I tried my first west-indian/jamaican food here and trust me, I have not tested any better elsewhere yet ... be it Jerk Chicken or Chicken curry, they know how to keep taste buds alive .. owner cooks himself and he is from West Indies too ... authenticity at its best
First visit, recommend by a friend. Enjoyed the foods. You have to teat there.
Delicious traditional and fusion dishes in a great atmosphere
Excellent food & service!
Great carribean fare...excellent food and service.
Great food. Spice is spot on. Flavors are fantastic. Service is good. Price is average
Delicious. Cook is proud of his cooking and it shows. Very good.
Amazing Jerk Salmon...the patties are great too. Nice hole in the wall to find. Worth the drive.
$16.00 for jerk chicken and rice and it does not come with a drink. Taste ok but very expensive. It is my first and last visit. No lunch special
I used to love this place but I just paid $20 for a tiny portion of food, they apparently changed the menu but didnt bother to say anything. Seriously disappointed with the portion, dont think I will be coming here as often now...
Ive purchased meals from Soulyve many times in the past and they would give a good portion of food for their meals. When I went to purchase a meal from Soulyve today, they gave me a quarter of the amount of the portion of food for my meal. I paid $20.00 for a quarter of amount of the portion of food for my meal, when I paid $20.00 for a good portion of food for my meal in the past! They changed their menu, its a rip off and I should have just went to SunRise Caribbean Restaurant instead!! Too bad, so sad because I was a loyal customer and their food is good!
Very good food great atmosphere great patio in the summer
Carribean fusion. Flavourful and visually appealing presentation. Great place to sit down and eat, great ambiance, laid back vibe. Also fast takeout available as well.
Awesome. Amazing. Brilliant.
I ordered rather late for take out (9pm) but I did ask if it was too late to order. Its been a while since we ordered from Soullyve so it was rather disappointing to get 2 rather rubbery old drumsticks and a small portion of rice. Flavour was amazing but I agree with the other comment that the portion size was small for the price paid. I asked for 2 large Jerk Chicken Dinners and all we ate was the rice and coleslaw. Both were very tasty but the chicken was not fresh.
The best place to eat in Orangeville. Amazing food, amazing atmosphere, amazing staff.
I loved the food here! The staff and kitchen do an amazing job of setting the perfect mood for Caribbean food. You will not be disappointed.
Good food.
Great service and delicious food. The jerk chicken wings are very tasty. The oxtail poutine and reggae wrap are also quite good.
Food was great. Had goat curry in a roti. Delicious. My dinner companion had catfish tacos which were equally good. Decent beer on tap. It was unfortunate we were in a hurry otherwise we would have tried the appetisers when ch looked very appealing.
It is ok I will give it a try maybe again
This is my favourite place in Orangeville... amazing Caribbean food with lots of interesting twists. Best Roti I have had outside of Port of Spain. Pepper sauce was spot on!
I have been here many times and I dont give 5 star reviews easily. I just had a reggae rap on Saturday and it was absolutely delicious and the service was amazing. I had lunch inside wearing my work clothes. ( yes I do look like a redneck when I am working ). They treated me, like I was a somebody. Which I probably am, but I dont like to admit it. I recommend this place mainly because the food and the service is great. I also love this place because I never saw a Hipsters inside this place. I hope those fu$king Hipsters never come up to Orangeville.
Nice relaxing outdoor lunch at a place just off the main thoroughfare. The Caribbean theme lunch menu provides for varying tastes. The jerk chicken was spot on! The bold coffee afterwards tasted fresh pressed and rich. The cost was reasonable. Service was attentive, efficient and friendly. I would go back.
Love this place. A must try for everyone! Love the catfish tacos and the reggae wrap
Great food. Service is impeccable. BBQ chicken and Ox tail...phenomenal
Visited Soulyve last night for the first time. This was during the Blues and Jazz festival, when we arrived at about 6 PM, we had no problem getting a seat out doors and the waitress was good at getting us menus and then taking our orders. By this time, the place was absolutely packed and there was a lineup. Some of us got our food on time but the rest of us had to wait an additional 20 minutes, when I went to find our waitress, she was on cash, serving take out orders, when the food did arrive, it was cold. I dont blame the staff for any of this, I blame a staff shortage. The restaurant itself is very nice, it is in a historical, converted house, with a beautiful deck out front, overlooking Mill Street. It is nicely decorated and well laid out. It was very clean, including the bathroom, even though it was so busy. The staff were very friendly and apologetic with the food delay. My only complaints were, the limited menu, being my first time there, I am not sure is this is the regular menu or a special one for the festival, and the main floor bathroom. I asked where the bathroom was and was shown the, single person, unisex, bathroom that had a lineup. After trying a few times to use the facilities, I was directed to the upstairs bathrooms, these were men/ladies and your regular restaurant type. There was no signage to show there were bathrooms up there and I am not totally sure we were supposed to use them; they were in a hallway outside of what looked like a party room. Overall, I enjoyed coming here, most of my complaints were from the shear volume of people in the restaurant and the staff trying to service everyone. Although cold, my jerk chicken was good, my companions had the jerk burger and sweet potato chips, they thoroughly enjoyed them, and the pop in glass bottles were a nice addition. The prices are moderate, about $15.00 for each of the main courses, but they are served in paper boxes with plastic cutlery. I will definitely be back, but when it is less busy.
Food is always good. Staff is friendly.
It was good and fast service. Great food. Good prices.
Good service, awsome choice
This place is off the hook. Just tremendous food. The portions were also a pleasant surprise. Lot more food than I anticipated. You must try it!
Good tasting food
Best Caribbean food in the GTA
Friendly service. Nice and simple ambience. Fair prices. Great food. Curried chicken roti was the best ever according to my father in law. We all loved our doubles and fried plantain was tasty. My wife loved her reggae wrap with jerk chicken. Cornmeal breaded catfish was quite salty, but everything else was exceptional.
Terrific food. Great atmosphere. Best patio!
Really cool, vibey spot.
Food is five star but had to change my rating since I ordered ox tail take out an it came in a hamburger container. Portions use to be great for the price now I feel like they are trying to get a little greedy charging the same for less food
Good food and fast service! Beverage menu so-so. Great patio, music and vibe.
Fresh, delicious Jamaican fusion cuisine. Well priced, oxtail poutine was unreal!
Good food and great service! My only complaint is paying the same amount for a veggie reggae wrap as people pay for chicken.
Great place to sit and eat. Awesome food and excellent service.
Been here a few times and never had a bad experience. Good place to eat
One of a kind Jamaican food spot
So amazing!
Got to eat here. Always try to stop in when I am in orangeville. The food is great, the service is amazing.
I did this for the points soulyve big mood
Amazing food with good music!
Loved it here. Great patio, and the food was really good. We had the power parties, veggie samosas, and the reggae wrap. The wrap especially was great. Hope to be back!
Always delicious. Yummy desert platter for a birthday celebration.
Amazing food
Went there for the second time today, enjoyed it even better than the first. Surprising that a place this good is in Orangeville, our kids ate everything. We will defiantly go back soon.
Awesome
AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS FOOD! Big portions, reasonable pricing, awesome customer service. My husband and I were in town for our anniversary, and we stumbled upon the restaurant. A bit of a wait to get seated on the first night, but we were quickly seated on the patio. Charming spacious patio with lights. We are both Vegetarian, and we really enjoyed: plaintain brushetta, veggie curry, power patties, and the coleslaw. The food was SOOoo good, we decided to return for dinner again two nights in a row!!!! Kudos to the chef/owner and the manager Tyler for a great dining experience.
Simply a must stop place. Great Caribbean vibe, with a menu to match. Reggae Wraps are amazing!!!!!
Excellent food at a reasonable price. The only disappointment is the reliance on chicken drumsticks (cheapest part of the chicken). Otherwise a fabulous meal!!!
The food is good, however I feel the prices do not match the food. You can almost go anywhere in brampton and get the same tasting food for half the cost.
Always great
We drove all the way there today for dinner and the restaurant is closed but the website says open. Very disappointed, dont think I will be coming back
We used Soulyve to cater our wedding of 130 people and they did an amazing job. They were extremely flexible in working with the requirements of our venues management. They offered us options that werent on their normal catering menu and everything they made was delicious. My wife and I got so many compliments on the food and they were certainly the best of all the vendors we worked with for our wedding. If you need a caterer, Id highly recommend Soulyve.
Ive been a customer for years ... and the food, service and atmosphere never disappoint. The staff is amazing, the food is always on point (delicious)... just a great place to enjoy.
Nice
The cheesecake was way over priced for the size. Food was okay. I had the Rasta bbq chicken wrap as the menu was limited due to the festival. I didnt taste the bbq in it at all, nor the mango pineapple sauce that was supposed to be in it. On a good note the size was great and the price for the size.
Great place to dine! The owner and staff are very warm and welcoming. Try the reggae wrap, it is to die for. Real hidden gem for authentic Jamaican/Caribbean food.
Delicious food, good atmosphere, nice staff. Too bad they re closing at the end of 2018!
Apple Pie and Blue Hawaii
Very busy for a Monday. Great atmosphere and food.
Excellent food and staff. It is a shame they will be closing.
Excellent service and the food is GREAT! Catfish tacos are soooo tasty!!
Great atmosphere and fantastic food
Soooooo good, so sad its closing
Great food. I liked the spicy plates. Highly recommend.
Great food and nice staff
Would highly recommend this location. Food is tasty.
The best thing on the menu is the regge wrap its so good!! Sebastion is cool too
Was ok. Seemed pricey for the quality. Portion sizes were large though.
Great food and cozy atmosphere!
Delicious! So sad that its closing.
Exceptional quality, service and authenticity.
Cool place, great food.
Food was awful..wont go back there again. Ill drive all the way to brampton.
food was quick and taste wonderful
Great food fresh and pricy
Excellent food, creative, well presented. Phil DeWar is an amazing guy. Wishing you much luck on your future endeavours!
My second visit was better than the first one. But it is closing doors soon so never mind.
Had to wait over 40 mins for 2 patties...not a good first impression
Great food. Love the OXTAIL !!!
The food was to die for!!!!!!
The Jerk Chicken is great! The servers were polite and helpful. The music was just the right volume
My Hubby and I took our friend out to dinner and it was amazing.... Great good and awesome staff...
Like no other jerk place; non traditional, exquisite, delicious, and just truly damn good.
We went on a Thursday night, and they were completely out of all of their curries. So I ordered the Cajun fish tacos and my partner got a goat dish. I remember this place being so much better. Food was lacking flavour, and is overpriced. Dinner ended up being over $50 and neither of us finished our food and we were starving... :( Also staff is friendly but slow.
Excellent Food, excellent service . Be very sorry to see this place close
Great food.
Delightful...but closing soon
Place is $$ but the food is good. Cozy ambiance. Parking lot is busy, hard to find parking. Friendly service.
Great food! So sad youre closing :(
Delicious food served in a friendly atmosphere. Everyone was so kind and friendly. A lot of thought went into the presentation of the food and the restaurant. I would highly recommend everyone trying this restaurant. A must try is the Guava Turnovers and The Sweet heat wings. Amazing quality!! Great staff! Beautiful atmosphere. What more could you ask for!
Love this place.
Amazing food and service. The jerk chicken ravioli fusion is absolutely a must try. Gos fantastically with an order of festival bread.
Nice flavour, medium portion sizes. Expensive but does not take credit cards
Power patties and the jerk chicken wrap are amazing!
Amazing as always
This was our first experience with West Indian food and it was a great one. We went there with friends and ate too much good food and had way to good of a time. Well have to do that again!
Great place to have a good meal. It has its in-house music and not so loud. Service very fast and servers are friendly and helpful. They know their menu well. Will definitely come back again although I live almost an hour away. Dont know how to pronounce the name. Will ask next time...
If youre not already sold by the employees and atmosphere then the good will defiantly win you over.
Fix up de curry its like water.
My family and I visited Soulyve and in the many years I have frequented many Caribbean restaurants this is the absolute best to date. The sense of arrival experience was very welcoming. The vibe and energy that permeates through the restaurant makes it a very comfortable place to take your family to eat over and over again. I recommend if you want a good social outing with friends it will happen at Soulyve. My first time experience will be marked in my book as a top restaurant to bring any visitors I have. Thumbs up all the way to Soulyve and their team.
Unique spot. Great food.
Was a wonderful dinner presentation was also nice everyone ate and was satisfied.
Great Caribian food
Never disappointing
Hello, we had the pleasure of visiting Soulyve last night. First off the atmosphere was nice, I mean it felt welcoming like your family. the workers are extremely good, we sat down and placed our order. We were told that the owner had a secret family recipe that was handed down from generations. Well the food arrived and it was not what I expected, I mean, come on handed down from generations and it tasted like that. It tasted like the chef was not from Jamaica, like he tossed together some ingredients and called it jerk. I give this place 10/10 for atmosphere and hanging out but 4/10 for food quality. Great place to hang out but bad food. Sorry.
Amazig Jamaican food and very good prices
Great Jamacian & west Indian food with a twist.
one of the best in orangeville
Quality of dishes gets worse each time I visit!. I used to love spending the time to make the trip, but recently there is nothing worth coming back for! There Def feeding into a market that has no idea what quality caribean foods supposed to taste like
Soulyve boasts authentic Jamaican cuisine and exquisite customer service. If you are ever in the area, YOU MUST treat yourself to their delicious menu - you will not be disappointed. Soulyves prices are more than fair but even if they had a 50% markup on their menu items, I would still graciously spend my time and money at this one of a kind restaurant.
Place was very clean staff was great food was tasty just not spicy for the Jerk that I ordered and some stuff being Caribbean I can make at home. But excellent ideas and amazing presentation! Ordered trunk doubles and apple tree alcohol drink it was great the dipping sauce was nice I also ordered the jerk chicken reggae wrap and was delicious as well.
Absolutely delicious! Staff was very good, food was even better. The price point is amazing for the portions you get and everything is very flavorful. Chill atmosphere and friendly wait staff, all combine in to a lovely experience.
Absolutely love the Reggae Wrap!!!
I absolutely love this place. I was going to come up today from Toronto. But its close. Should be open. Even half the day. My bf is so sad
This is our second time to Soulyve and it definitely wont be our last. Great food and great atmosphere!
Not as great as it used to be. Value and flavor seems to declining
Stopped in today at the new Guelph location. The food was amazing, I should have ordered more. Will be back. a must if your in downtown Guelph. May have to take a trip to Orangeville. Quick friendly service. Go check it out!!!
Great food, fair prices.
Best chicken wings around!
Jerk chicken was yum
Great place, excellent food. Very cozy and comfortable atmosphere. Highly recommend.
