We love the food here. They make the best caprese salad, and if what you want isn t on the menu, they ll do their best to get you whatever you want. Vegetarian options: Just tell them you don t want meat and they ll give you options. I always have the penne arrabiatta and it s awesome!

Had a rose sauce pasta...it was rich, creamy...so good...cant wait to come back

We had the chicken parm and crème brûlée. Soooo good. Al is an absolute hoot. Such a great night filled with great food, great wine, and great laughs!

What a super delicious pizza, we was for dinner with 4 people and everyone was super happy.

The food here is just so damn good! Never had a bad meal here and we ve been here a few times. Definitely coming back again soon.

Food was very basic, nothing special, extremely overpriced, and portions were small especially the mussels.

I found it expensive and not a lot of selection as I cant eat beef.

Not sure if we went on a off night. Our server seemed very disinterested in serving us at all. Took him almost 20 mins to take our order after we received our drinks. The meal almost an hour and half to come and the place was not even busy. Only 4 other tables were occupied. Food was nothing special, but the pasta was under cooked. Seems sad that a italian restaurant can t seem to perfect cooking pasta. Chicken parmigiana was dry and over cooked. They have grilled calamari advertised but not on their menu. Overpriced for a mediocre dinner with terrible service.

Amazing food, service very attentive but not TOO over bearing. 5 out of 5!! Husband and I both agreed this is our new favourite spot (new to us)... and will be back. Reasonably priced for date night, and lovely atmosphere for a quiet dinner as well.

Lovely little restaurant serving Italian food. I had fettuccine alfredo with chicken for takeout and it was absolutely delicious. I love how they also participated with a local farm for a farm share pickup. Thank you!

Visited this restaurant twice and on both occasions was one of a few people in the restaurant but the food is amazing. No complaints here, will be back!

Food was excellent

Sparsely decorated with banquet hall leftovers and what appears to be bedsheets for tablecloths, peoples art work for sale hanging on the walls and a missmatch of floor coverings make this interior less than welcoming. Its no wonder half the windows are blocked off to prevent pekple from seeing in. Service was incredibly slow considering they were at about 1/4 capacity. There were 6 of us and I had my meal complete before the last one even received theirs. I had asked specifically that my garlic bread with cheese be served with my main.....it was delivered about 15 minutes prior and was hard as a rock by the time I received the main, a paltry bit of gnocchi in an oversized bowl. Probably less than would fit in a typical soup can for over $20. These jelly bean size pasta bites were overpowered with anchovi? Not sure...just very salty. Also had a $14 salad.....my bill was around $50 and I had to stop at McDs on the way home because I was still hungry.

We have been to Semplice many times. We have always really enjoyed our dinners! Food is delicious! Manicotti is my fav. Atmosphere is lovely. Service has been very good, overall. A must try restaurant in Orangeville!

I m quite surprised this place has such high ratings - which is why my dinner date and I decided on this place. It was an hour drive for each of us, Orangeville being the middle. Firstly, the heat was broken. While I m sure this is unusual, they could have told me over the phone when I made a reservation (which I had to call 5 times to reach someone). There was no wine list, the server just listed of the wines and expected us to pick one. Not a huge deal, but it would have been nice to see a list. The food was okay. My date had the gnocchi and it was very good. I had the veal parm - which came with penne and what seemed like canned tomato sauce. The atmosphere felt like a cafeteria.

Where to even begin on this place? To say you are an Italian restaurant who uses the freshest ingredients is just plain wrong. From the service to the food to waiting 25 minutes to get a pizza for my kid when there is two tables in the place, it is just write off. I come from a family who owned 5 restaurants and I would be ashamed to put this so called Italian food in front of anyone. I don t want to say anymore, but if you like good food and quality service, then best to avoid this place. To the owner, server and chef, your customers deserve better on every front. Producing quality food and excellent service is not that hard and it is literally your business to do so. Sorry for the harsh review but a wake up call is needed, as this was our first and last time at your establishment.

Food was really good. Starter, main, and dessert all very good. Hot, fresh, and good. Service was quick. Pretty good value too.

It was well worth our while, figuring out how to get to this nice trattoria. Not their fault the streets were under construct. Our servers were excellent and helped us pick our selections. The shrimp app was outstanding. A must have. The 3 meat lasagna and pizza also amazed us. I know we will be stopping here again, for a meal and glass of wine. We highly recommend you try there Italian food, it was wonderfully memorable. Enjoy!

Vegetarian options: The food is excellent and very tasty. Vegetarian but not sure about vegan -- the mushroom risotto maybe?... Yum!!

Good food and local craft beer combined with friendly staff. Cant ask for any more than that.

As a chef . Apps were good, calamari should come with lemon but was good otherwise. We were not asked if we wanted bread when the person sitting in front of us was. Chicken was cut very small for the add on in my pasta but the pasta was tasty, could have used a little more cream for a rosé. The pizza . I wouldn t call it pizza. Not sure what the dough was but it wasn t pizza dough, the sauce was just your basic marinara, not what you would get a a typical Italian restaurant. Maybe I m just nit picking because I grew up eating at one of the best Italian restaurants in the city but overall it wasn t terrible but could have been better.

Just found out about this place. Amazing! The portion is good and the food is excellent. I usually go to greystone but the food was much better here.

Had a craving for pasta, and tried this place for the first time. Ordered the rigatoni bolognese and it was excellent. Will definitely be back.

We went to dine in for our anniversary and it was ok. It has changed dramatically since we have been there, we also know that Covid has changed alot of things but customer service should always be top notch. The atmosphere was not as inviting as it was before .

This is my go to place when I want delicious pasta and caprese salad, hubby loves their fresh made pizzas! Service is always quick, the bread served with your meal comes out hot and so soft...not many places offer bread/oil dips anymore. One key thing here is your drinks are always kept topped up, even if you are only having water, which doesnt taste like toilet bowl water that most restaurants water tastes like.

Amazing. The appetizers were beautifully done. The pastas were as tasty as in Italy. Very simple and very clean establishment (which I prefer) and the food was one of the best in Orangeville. Talked to people at the restaurant that come every week. I will definitely take up that weekly visit myself. Highly recommend.

This place makes the best Italian food in Orangeville. I have tried other Italian type restaurants and nothing compares to this place. The food was so fresh and tasty. The whole experience was great. My family really enjoyed themselves.

Service was great, atmosphere is very nice with lovely decor and lighting. I thought the prices were fairly reasonable for an upscale restaurant. We would have spent more if we had a drinks or wine menu, but they dont seem to have one. Unfortunately, I must add that some of the food we ordered was disappointing. The gnocchi I had was mushy and not cooked properly (more like formed mashed potatoes with sauce) and the mussels were rubbery and bitter. The meatballs appetizer, steak and pizza were good and the steak was cooked just the way my son likes it. The first time we went we were very happy but this time I was disappointed as this was supposed to be a special New Years Eve Dinner. I am sorry to say we will not be returning.

Excellent food, excellent service. The chicken cacciatore they had on special was quite good. The portions were generous. The staff were quite nice and always checking up on our table. We had a group of 10 for a birthday. The bills were all tracked well with no issues at all. Will definitely be going back.

Not impressed with the food. Not homemade, pasta and sauce plain. Sorry to say but for the high end prices we just did not like the food.

Everything was perfect, we (2) were there for lunch. Good table service. Clean well stocked washrooms both men and womans. Plenty of parking out front, restaurant is in a strip type plaza, end unit. Causal dining dress, tablecloths clean and at proper lenght. Good choice of beverages. Limited menu choices, but given that everything is made fresh daily, I would take quality over quantity and choice any time. Caesar salad crisp no brown spots just the appropriate amount of house style caesar dressing, not to many croutons. I would have served it on a cold plate. Old school hot food hot plates, cold food cold plates with clean edges! Silverware clean and polished no water stains. Spicy Caesar drink was good, pickled asparagus nice touch, Lime wedge garnish was dry. If you trim both ends off and remove center core its easier to hold and lime or the juice of the wedge goes into the glass and not everywhere. Pasta perfect texture and portion. Gnocchi melt in your mouth, the best I have had in the last 2 decades. Would recommend this place to anyone. Great food and service. We were there for lunch on Valentines day, in and out just under $100.00. Less gratuities. A must if your in the area.

Cant rave enough about this place. The food for their Valentines menu was superb. Especially in part the midi course of beet ravioli with goats cheese and brown butter. It should become a menu staple. If you love the waiters who tell you like it is and dont fawn over with with lame platitudes then this is place. The head waiter and owner is a little rough around the edges but is warm hearted. Just because its a little off the beaten track doesnt mean it isnt worth the trek

We ate at this restaurant a few weeks back Having eating there numerous times l expected better. Me and my wife ordered Lasagna and it came with sauce that tasted burned. It was blazing hot and the pasta had the consistency of being microwaved. Staff were indifferent as if they didnt really didnt care whether we enjoyed the food or not. Will not return. Plenty of other choices in Orangeville

The night we came for dinner the roads outside of town were mostly closed, snow happens up here. The interesting thing about this place is that despite atrocious weather it was almost full. The service was great. The decor was gentle and relaxing. Put all that aside: the reason you go out to dinner is the food. In this case there were zero disappointments. The meatball appetizer was flavorful and just the right set up to my (meatless) Margarita pasta (A daily special so good I want to know the day). My partner had the salmon: perfectly cooked with biscuit like crisp skin and awesome fresh vegetables. Theres a decent wine list with some interesting options. And dessert. Fought the battle between tiramisu and creme brule. The creme brule won, generous, crackling carmel supported by the creamiest most luxuriant custard in my memory. This is the Italian restaurant Orangeville needs.

Absolutely loved the food! Definitely one of the best vegetarian pasta I have ever had (with fresh ingredients). And their service is simply amazing with such great staff members! Really looking forward to going back there again and would highly recommend to others! :)

My husband and I had a nice relaxing dinner after a busy work week. The staff were friendly and the food was delicious! I was not sure how our experience would be but I have to admit, we had a great time. We will be back for sure!

We were looking for an Italian restaurant on our way through Orangeville and came across this one. BEST DECISION EVER!!! The food was amazing and the service was fantastic. Dinner came quickly and HOT. I would actually drive back down to Orangeville just to eat at this restaurant!

Ordered 2 small at best sized pizzas (basically flat bread. 2 tough as shoe sole chicken Parms with vodka sauce (for pick up) ..... 90 dollars .... never in my whole life . Food was cold, small portioned and terribly over priced , but they through in some day old bread ... so hey!! DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY

We stopped here for lunch today and everything was awesome! The food was great, the price was reasonable and the conversation with Al enhanced the experience. A great place to stop when in Orangeville. We are an hour away but will be sure to stop next time in area. Thank you Al and team for a great meal! 5 star!!!!!

The pasta is delicious! My girlfriend had the fettuccine Alfredo, her only complaint was it was a little to saucy. I had the spaghetti and meatballs, the noodles were cooked perfectly, sauce was good and the meatballs were good. I highly recommend this place! Wait wasnt long, but it wasnt busy when we went.

From my friend: I dont have a google email so I wrote a review on Trip Adviser this is what I posted: Pasta is NOT freshly made ! Service was terrible, felt rush through our meal. Started with appetizers before we were even done we had our main course delivered. Had to ask for water, a wine list and what was on the menu for dessert. Sitting trying to enjoy our coffee and the staff was counting the till and cleaning up around us it was only 8:30pm. When we arrived the place was empty that makes sense now. Lots of great places to eat in Orangeville and this is not one! 3 others in our group fully concur. In addition, the waitress dropped several dishes at our friends feet splashing oil/balsamic onto a pair of Browns cork platform neutral tone fabric upper and while the waitress apologized and offered a damp rag to clean, no offer from owner for drycleaning. Not even a free coffee. I am Italian and know from gnocchi. These were little square bits of non kneaded dough that I couldnt finish because of the heaviness. No thumb print in the dough. We were charged $70 each for a terrible and rushed evening. 4 women on the town with unlimited time and credit card limit wil not be back. Try harder to earn good patronage in an off the beaten path location of Orangeville. We had a more superior experience at Grand Spirits in Grand Valley, off the beaten path. Not too long ago. We shut down the place and were serviced hand over foot. They charged us for their service, and as we happily paid, they offered us all a free shot for the road as our paid designated driver waited for us in the parking lot to drive us all safely home.

This was fantastic! The only time Ive had that kind of an Italian food experience was in a chic haute couture restaurant in the fashion district in Rome itself. But this place has personal, attentive service, local and sustainably sourced ingredients and costs a fraction of what I tried think its quality deserves. 10/10 will go again.

DISAPPOINTING SERVICE. Restaurant was empty but yet the waiter didn t seem to have time to welcome us to the restaurant, offer a high chair, introduce himself or even greet us when seated. There was A DEAD BUG on my fork and we let the waiter know and were offered another plate but no apology or acknowledgement of the situation being below standards. We tried to stay but when we tried to continue eating, we found ANOTHER piece of the bug IN OUR FOOD. Once again, there was no apology or even acknowledgement of fault. The server said, Oh and offered us another plate. We were made to feel like we weren t at all important guests which is unfortunate because their poor level of service completely overshadowed their cuisine.

Dinner and a show! We were entertained all night by the apparent owner/manager of this establishment berating his staff loudly. Really set the mood for the rest of our experience. The same person we assume to be the owner was our waiter, and it was a delight to see the different ways he showed us how little he cared about us. There was no eye contact, he never even spoke in the direction of my girlfriend, and never once checked to see if everything was okay. He yelled at us from the bar though! So that was a delight. Even if the food was above average (it wasnt; bland, overly sauced pizza with the toughest crust ever, and the penne rose was disappointing even by Chef Boyardee standards) it wouldnt be enough to overlook the terrible environment we walked in to in that restaurant.

Food 10/10. Menu is small but the food was great Service 6/10. Long wait times, had to ask for refils on both bread and drinks Appearance 7/10. Nice looking place, feels homie Price........ 3/10. I found it overly expensive for what it all was worth. 3 meals, 1 beer and two cokes that were filled to the top with ice. I essentially paid 5 bucks for one can of coke. I enjoyed it but can never bring myself to come back again. If you want to impress someone by spending lots of money, come on down, youll at least enjoy the food

A very good simple Italian restaurant (the translation of the name from Italian is simple testaurant). Authentic Italian hospitality which get warm as you dine and talk about food. Many local loyal clients and that ads to the atmosphere. The food is fresh and done well. The rose sauce is perfect. The bruscata was ok but the rest was great. We will visit again.

This is our go to restaurant in town. The food is always excellent. The chef is very accommodating for food preferences. The owners are very friendly and welcoming. We love the warm atmosphere and easy parking. THE BEST specialty coffee I have ever had!

Orangeville is becoming a cool place to visit for foodies, with a number of fine restaurants nearby, all reasonably priced. Trattoria Semplice is one of them. It may be off the main drag, but it is well worth checking out, especially when you want to enjoy fresh Italian food. Pasta and sauces are made on the premises. House wine is excellent (I had the sangiovese).

Trattoria Semplice, perfectly named! We wanted simple and delicious Italian food and that is what we got. Prices are great, restaurant is low key, staff is friendly (and not pushy), and there is always parking. A casual and relaxing Saturday night meal!
