Kati Thai Kitchen Authentic Experience.
Food is really tasty, and they definitely hit you with some spice when you ask for it! Very accommodating of dietary restrictions and plenty of options. I've had the green curry and pad Thai and both were very satisfying and good portions. Service is very kind and attentive. Exactly what I want when I head out for good Thai food in Orangeville!
Very overpriced. $17 for a container of chicken curry. Rice is extra. Probably won’t be going back. Such a shame bc the dishes were tasty.
Wow, if I could give 4 1/2 stars, I would! I’ve been to this restaurant before when it was under a different name, “Thai for you” to which now it’s called Kati Thai Kitchen… I had a look at the menu prior to going in and I was dead set on the drunken noodles, the server at the front warned me that this was a very spicy dish and they can tone it back for me and she was certainly right to do so but I wanted the full shot… These were some of the best noodles I think I’ve ever had and they lit me up pretty good but were so addictive I couldn’t stop… the service was excellent and the atmosphere in the restaurant is beautiful as it always has been… If you’re looking for great Thai food, this one is a must!…But be warned, the drunken noodles are very spicy! Thanks again!! Zeke
It's definitely a different place after the owner/chef/ name change! Used to be Thai for you. Staff is very friendly and ok prices but food changed, great presentation but taste/flavors not the best.
I ordered take out and came to pick up my order, pad thai, a soup and red curry. Service was great and the lady at the desk was smiling and super kind. Thai food is a welcomed addition to Orangeville restaurant scene. Overall food was good. The shrimp was likely over cooked or something because it’s texture was very strange, almost shreddy/crumbly/pasty like chewing chicken. This is likely not always the case , I probably got unlucky. I feel that the portion sizes or the price of takeout dishes needs to be adjusted or looked at. A $20 red curry with shrimp and a $7 soup are put in the same size containers. I was expecting a larger portion size to be honest, especially for the curry’s price — I am curious to know if it is exactly the same quantity given for in-person dining. I’ll readjust my review if I learn more about that. Update: I was drinking the veggie soup that I ordered, and found a piece of chicken in it. Frustrating.
I love thé service that Serena gave us today. She is quick with water and making sure the meals are just as we would like it. I had the Drunken Noodles which are a real treat for anyone that likes REALLY spicy food. Even if you ask to tone that dish down, it is still very hot. We also had the coconut soup with shrimp. In each bowl we had 4 large shrimp in addition to mushrooms. It was delicious.
Decided to come here for a little treat for myself after for delivering here a few times. Every time I came in it smelled great, and dinner did not disappoint. It’s a pretty cozy location. Starting off with the soft rolls, personally I was a bit worried as it has mango in them, and I’m not really a fan of mango. But it works, they were delicious and refreshing, always a good sign of a good chef if they can make you like something you normally don’t. For the entrée, I had the pad sew, usually my go to at most Thai restaurants. The noodles felt fresh, the meat and broccoli very good. Definitely a dish to return to. With that and the good service, this is a place I’ll be returning to for sure!
Update - ordered again for pickup and the food was just as good. Been here once. Really good food. Tried the following. Chicken wantons Spring rolls Fried rice Pad Thai Lemongrass soup- think that's what it was. No complains as everything tasted fresh and really good. Will return to try again to see how consistent they are.
Thanks to staff. I ordered online and noted my food allergy. I was immediately contacted by Kati Thai staff via telephone to discuss my order and ensure that all necessary substitutions were made. Above and beyond; so appreciated.
Food had great flavour and great spice level!
PAD SEW HERE! only place near me with pad sew.
My second time here and once again it didnt disappoint. Food is great. I had the Curry Pad Thai, it was the best Ive enjoyed in years. Friendly, prompt service in a very clean, pleasant atmosphere. Wish I lived a little closer. Vegetarian options: My daughter is doing a very strict diet these days, Vegan, no gluten, dairy, sugar, etc and loved her meal.
Great food and very accommodating to kids (they brought a Mickey Mouse special plate and cup)
Ordered take out and was really impressed. We tried the drunken noodles and basil chicken. Both dishes were fantastic.
Great food! Honestly our favourite place to visit when we are in the Orangeville area.
We recently moved so were trying all kinds of new restaurants. This one disappointed on my first try. While it was about an hour from prep time to eating, the PadThai was the driest I have ever had. I understand the noodles may soak up the sauce and be drier but the chicken was almost unedible, like a jerky. I called to let the lady know and she basically called me a liar no, no, our chicken is made fresh daily. I was happy to work with them to try something else another day but the RUDE lady kept speaking over me when I was talking. I asked her please let me finish, shed say okay and then start talking over me again. I eventually said this rudeness is why I will never come back. Man - what the hell happened to good service?? There are so many competitive options available. Im happy to support the competitor!!
I ordered Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles from this restaurant via Uber Eats. While the Pad Thai was delicious, the Drunken Noodles were marked as medium spice but were so unbearably hot that I couldn t eat more than a few bites. I gave it to my friend Sudhir, thinking it was just me, but they had the same reaction and suggested I call the restaurant. When I did, I was met with rude service and told that it was my fault for choosing the spice level, despite choosing the medium option on Uber Eats. - thank you for your response, I would recommend removing the options on Uber Eats going forward to avoid confusion. Expecting customers to call every place they order food from to check is an unrealistic expectation, in addition while I am an average person, I did verify with someone who is used to thai food and not the average person that this was exceptionally spicy and misleading.
Obsessed with the red curry dish! The food here is delicious, best thai in town. Great food, great service; it s a vibe
Best food quality, so fresh and hot, and loveliest owners and servers. Absolutely love this place, its one of our favorites! (A must-have is the mango sweet coconut rice for dessert. The fresh mango and sweet coconut milk is out of this world!!)
Great food, great service.
The food is absolutely delicious and the service is second to none. Prices are reasonable. Will definitely be back
Not the most authentic and a little on the sweet side but the location is convenient and the selection is good
Everything is delicious here. We order from Kati Thai almost every week and never get tired of it. Would definitely recommend!!
Honestly, its hard for me to give this review, and I wasnt planning on doing it, but its the right thing to do. I bought take out last Monday, I got some fried rice, curry noodles, spring rolls, and something else, but to be honest with you, it was the worst food ever and Im surprised because I tried food at this place ages ago before Covid-19. Perhaps its new owners and new cooks? Not sure but it was beyond bland, and by bland I dont mean that it needed to be spicy but it was beyond bland as if they dont even add any form of sodium like salt in their food. It was some of the worst food I have ever tried in my life and this is coming from someone who is a chef, travels for food, I eat takeout almost every day and go to many restaurants. If I ever crave Thai food I would definitely sucj it up and drive to Guelph to have good Thai food. I will never go back here to spend my hard earned money. Nevertheless, the service is amazing and the lady thats always there at the cash is very kind and polite but that fact is independent to how bad the food is. I actually threw out the noodles in the garbage, there was no salvaging them.
Best Thai food in orangeville!
The food was lovely. I had the coconut soup and it was so fresh. The waitress, Serena, was so accommodating and kind! 5 stars Dietary restrictions: lots of gluten free options
Nice atmosphere, food tasted good but the portions were very small and very overpriced. The chicken skewers were overcooked and dry. $30 for 8 small chicken skewers is crazy. I would order from here again if it didn t feel like such a money grab.
It s hard to find a good Thai restaurant - but this place is AMAZING. Delicious food every time. It s always best to eat in the restaurant, but their takeout is fantastic too! Prices are very reasonable and servings are generous. The staff are lovely and provide great service!
I ordered chicken pad thai and tom yum soup. The pad thai was super bland, had barely any chicken and no vegetables. The soup was awful, it had no taste, may as well have been water with some veggies thrown in it.
Best restaurant my favourite I love it pad Thai
Great tasting Thai Cuisine. Attentive server and clean dining room. Would highly recommend if you like Thai Food!!
We stopped by for lunch. My husband had a green curry and I had tofu pad thai. Both tasted so great and my dish was a big portion. The girl (I assume shes helping her parents) was so kind and checking our table if we need anything with a very polite manner. If we drive pass orange ville again, we will definitely stop by again.
My favorite restaurant in Orangeville. Really nice service and great food, love the Khao soi
This place is a nice step up from the previous Thai restaurant with the food much more flavourful and attention to detail. The owners responses to the bad reviews written earlier in their first few months indicate that they care enough improve, which is a good sign, although some of the reviews appear to be written by those who dont have much familiarity with authentic Thai food (i.e., havent been to Thailand or are accustomed to westernized/bastardized Thai food). We (seven of us ranging in age from 21 months to 80 years old) indulged in the pad Thai, Pad See-Ew, soft rolls, coconut rice, pineapple fried rice, and pineapple curry. The only disappointing dish was the pineapple curry, which was somewhat lacking in flavour yet still a bit too spicy for most of us despite asking for it to be mild. For those who have compared this to the previous Thai restaurant that was here, the food was prepared on time for pickup (rather than waiting 20 minutes more upon arrival), and with the exception of one dish (cashews in the pad see-ew), detail paid to our food sensitivities/allergies (i.e., nut & sesame-free, no onions, informed which dishes were GF). And as mentioned, the food was much more tasty. Overall I would rate this newly established Thai restaurant a 4.5, and will upgrade to a 5 if we experience the same quality and service on our next visit. In the meantime, I wish the new owners all the best for their thriving business. Kap koon krap!
Over priced small servings . Can get the same dish but better at any other place Reply to owner comment: Better as in tastier and more authentic. Also paying $16 for a handful of vegetables in coconut milk with no rice is gouging (Green curry)
I dont mind the food here, its not as good as Thai for you was but its good...my issue is with the owners always feeling like they have to argue with the paying customers that had a issue with their food, just say sorry that you were disappointed, please give us another chance and stop being so argumentative...it really reflects poorly on your establishment UPDATE, thank you for your response but questioning whether or not your customer understands if they liked your food or not is insulting, of course they know what is going on they show up and order what you have to offer and then they can write a review based on their own opinion if they enjoyed it or not, it is that simple, it really is. When you become defensive and try to offer up a reason why they made not have enjoyed your food is in my opinion not the way to deal with it. You can simply apologize, not for how you made the food bc many may have enjoyed it, you simply apologize that they didnt enjoy it and you move on
Ive ordered a few times now, hoping at some point the food would improve. I was wrong. Past orders were underwhelming, this order was practically inedible. Soft rolls had giant pieces of veg, making it fall apart with each bite. Nothing in them for any flavour, really needs some herbs. Chicken wontons were dry, and served with a runny flavourless sweet chili sauce. Tom yum soup was bland (how?!?!?), and the added shrimp were boiled to yhe consistency of rubber. Drunken noodles were order medium spicy, but were too spicy to eat. Ive had this dish many times over and even made it myself, and its never gone uneaten. Probably due to the entire chili being used, including the seeds. My entire attempt at eating this dish was spent spitting these seeds out. The owners are probably going to say something about authentic Thai cuisine, but I can tell you from experience thats simply an excuse for poorly executed food.
I was very surprised with this place, good food and service, highly recommended.
The BEST Pad Thai in Orangeville
Quickly becoming my favourite place hands down The dishes are always delicious and look fantastic The decor is clean and nicely decorated The staff are always friendly and give too service One of my favourites for sure!!!
Decent Thai food. Quick and pleasant service.
This is our first time getting take out here and probably won t be the last. We got the Pad Thai and the Khao Soi, so I can only speak to those dishes. I found both dishes to very authentic with what we got in Thailand. I think it s different than what most people are used to as Thai food in Canada so keep that in mind when you go that the food might not be what you expect. Thank you Kati for bringing me back to the little restaurant in the mountains of Chiang Mai, see you soon!
The beef in the pad thai is a bit overcook and a little dry, other than that, everything was delicious.
Very small portions. No smell with flavor. Very bland poorly packaged Wayover priced pasty as hell and I can t emphasize enough. No flavour whatsoever. Disgusting. Stay away from there. Try anti-joys. I haven t eaten there yet. Trying it tomorrow because I don t want this Thai food to be my judging on Thai food. Every time I ve gone to pick up food for someone else at auntie Joyce. It has smelled phenomenal I ll keep you posted
Wonderful food. Service was fast and delicious! Food was served hot and our server was very pleasant ( Serena ). Excited to go back and try a new dish off the menu. Vegetarian options: Lots of options Parking: Lots of parking
Loved the different choices for lunch specials. Waitress Serena made great recommendations. Loved the spicy food Will be definitely going back Vegetarian options: Lots of options and some gluten free
* update* we unfortunately tried again. Everything very spicy now but also bland. Kids can t eat a single thing. Won t be back. Miss Thai for you so much! Ps you should advertise everything is spicy Went her with family and I was a bit disappointed in our meals. I used to go when it was Thai for you and I enjoyed it much more. The pad Thai is good, and the old crab rangoons and peanut sauce are still there and yummy. But the orange and veggie cashew stir fry wasn t pleasant at all, all I could taste is fish sauce.. and was a very small amount for $16! The glass noodle dish was very underwhelming and lacked a lot of flavour. They also forgot about two requests so our food came with unwanted items. I don t think I will be dining here again. Except to get coconut rice with peanut sauce for take out.. the peanut is definitely the best.
They do a wonderful Pad Thai here. If I recommended anything it would be that they create a vinegar based peppers for the table. A staple in Thailand and elevates the meal to adjust it to each individual taste. Vegetarian options: Pad Thai and most stir fry can be made as a veggie base Parking: Lots of parking available
Good food, good service
Love there Thai food SO TASTY. Fresh and top quality. Lots of choices for Vegetarians. Try their pumpkin soup YUM. I highly recommend trying their food. Service is top notch Vegetarian options: Great selection and they will eliminate meat from anything you order
We ordered the pad Thai. It s good, but my husband ordered medium as he enjoys a bit of spice. When he took one bit it was not medium. It was out of this world hot. He could not eat it. When ordered me conscious of the spices. Happy With the service but disappointed with the food.
I have been meaning to write this review for a while now. I have been ordering food from here since 2022 and it has always been delicious, piping hot, and fresh! Thank you for accommodating my sodium-reduced diet as well. I love your food! Dietary restrictions: Sodium reduced diet
One of the best meals out weve had in some time. Friendly, clean, and so delicious. It s a bonus that it s in the middle of a plaza that has one of everything you need. (We we re just passing through) Dietary restrictions: Lots of gluten free options. Sooo tasty and clean. Amazing place.
my kid and husband found it too spicy and couldn t eat it . Thai food should be a close balance between sweet, sour and spicy. This is how it should be prepared in any Thai kitchen, no matter on location. Many that I ve given business to, had a heat chart one to five, you pick the heat meter (an idea for this establishment), but please remember parents and those who can t handle heat, get out of the Thai kitchen, cos there will be some heat, it s there for the authentic taste balance. It s like bringing your kids to an authentic Mexican restaurant and complain about the heat little Michael doesn t like Cumin too . Restaurants will find their balance to satisfy the masses, and that s how it should be.
I wish I had taken a photo but the food smelled so good that we just dug right in. Ordered the drunken noodles with shrimp and the basil stir fry with chicken. Both were exceptional! The server warned us that the drunken noodles were spicy and man alive! Were they ever! But so so so good! I m happy we ordered the coconut rice with the basil stir fry, it helped temper the heat but was also just plain delicious. Will definitely be back!
I have never found a restaurant in Orangeville that can make a decent, authentic Pad Thai, though a few have tried. And I still havent found one.. Whenever I serve relatively authentic Pad Thai at home to guests, they usually tell me it is the best they have ever had. But maybe average folk want a watered down version, I dont know.
Great food quality. Portion size is decent. Prepared faster than anticipated. Food was very tasty. Recommend green curry with coconut rice.
Tried Kati Thai Kitchen tonight. The food was so good. We got green curry (beef), pad thai (chicken), crab rangoons and cold rolls. I would get every dish again. The crab rangoons were amazing. I cannot wait to eat them again and try the other dishes.
New Thai restaurant in Orangeville! I must say our lunch yesterday was absolutely delicious The new owners even came out a did a table check, which I thought was absolutely amazing. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Awesome Thai food with great sevice!
Exceptional quality of ingredients. The food was very fresh and the Pad Thai was the best I have eaten in Orangeville. I would highly recommend the Green Curry with sticky rice or Drunken noodles if you enjoy a higher level of spice. You can enjoy them mild but I personally love the heat. Very friendly and helpful staff, who made the experience even better!
Absolutely amazing Thai food! Their dishes are top notch with impeccable and beautiful flavours. And lastly, I can t remember the last time I ve had such great service!!!
I was more than a little apprehensive when I saw that Thai for You was gone and Kati Thai had taken over. Thai for you was out go to place for Thai in Oville. I neednt have worried as our takeout meal was awesome fresh, tasty and authentic. We even preferred the Pad Thai so needless to say Kati Thai will be our new go to. Also cheers to Serena who was so kind and helpful on the phone taking our order and answering my questions. Carol
Best Thai food in town, Krapow beef and sticky rice with mango is very yummy. Very delicious
I was disappointed with my order. The pad Thai was all stuck together, the wings were very dry and chewy, and the ginger beef was brutal. So sorry for the bad review but it s certainly NOT Thai for you!! Extremely underwhelmed!
Great service and great food!
Fast and server was very officiant and friendly
Food is consistently delicious whether you decide to dine in or do take out! Plus the workers here are so sweet and caring! Definitely worth a try!!
Dont get the Chicken Won Ton Soup. Absolutely flavorless. So much better in other places in Orangeville. Waste of money in my opinion. $67 down the drain on everything we ordered. Theres much better places out there. Hopefully they can improve being so new
My family LOVES Thai food. Kati is the closest weve had to some of our fav places in Toronto (Bua Thai on Queensway as one example). I have no idea what the 2 negative reviews are about other than, some people may not be used to more authentic Thai food. Weve been a couple times and thought it was great. Will definitely become regulars.
Ordered the drunken noodles with beef, and spring rolls. Delicious (and spicy!)
Disappointed in new ownership. First Cashew Chicken was removed from the menu, but customer requests led them to put it back on the menu. Ordered cashew chicken stir fry and basil chicken stir fry June 30, 2022, the sticky rice was dry and crusty around the edges, and hard. Like concrete. They must prepare way in advance and store in refrigerator for a couple days? We were hungry so I added a bit of water and resteamed it in microwave for 30 seconds. We could finally break the rice apart. But stull crusty crunchy bits in the rice. Cashew chicken had 3 cashews in the whole order, the orange segments were thin slices with the orange peel still on. The cashew chicken dish was dry, no sauce in the cashew chicken. The Basil stir fry chicken was very similar to the original owners recipe, so that was enjoyable.
Came here with my whole family and every single one of the seven dishes we ordered was perfect. Best in the GTA!
We ate here for lunch today and LOVED it! The place is new, clean and the menu is pretty extensive with lovely traditional Thai dishes. We had the appetizer platter with satay chicken skewers, Rangoon crab pastry, spring rolls and mango salad. $18. Delicious and perfect for 2. Give them a try!
Ive ordered Chicken Pad Thai and 3 spring rolls several times since theyve opened. The staff is great but $26 for a meal that was not large enough and the chicken was a little dry. I honestly dont mind the food, but the price point is far too high for the quality and amount I have received. Ive paid $18-$22 for the same general order at other Thai restaurants in/near town. Ill be taking a break for now. Maybe again in the fall.
I had takeout. Noodles stuck together, low proportion of meat and vegetables to noodles, and most importantly not flavourful. Been to Thailand 3 times and had lots of Thai in Canada and around the world. First and last experience. Why does that matter, then do not offer take out. The food had no taste, bottom line.
Awesome Menu. Terrific Food. Highly Recommend
Amazing and authentic! First time ordering and the appetizer platter did not disappoint. Pad Thai is AUTHENTIC and delicious, a close 2nd to Naha Thai (Guelph) & that is a huge compliment. Shrimp in the Pineapple fried rice were cooked perfectly, not overdone. Only suggestion would be to add some fresh herbs (mint & cilantro) to the mango salad but it was still delicious. Worth the drive to Orangeville, we will be back!
Exceptional service and food. Mango salad and Chicken Pad Thai was excellent.
Ordered the Drunken noodles and Pad thai for take out. Both were excellent! It was my first time trying the drunken noodles and it was awesome. Great flavor profiles from both dishes. Will defenietly be coming back.
Overpriced and tiny portions. Orangeville is in desperate need of a proper Thai place.
Curry pad thai is spicy but is not labeled so on the menu, kids hated it.
Quite disappointed in the meagre portion I got in the lunch special. For a few more dollars I could have had a full portion so expected to see better. I got the green curry with beef - coconut soup and a spring roll. I d be surprised if there was more than 1/4 cup of curry with two pieces of beef and a small portion of coconut rice. Flavour was decent if not a bit watered down, barely enough to feed a child let alone an adult for the price. The spring roll was actually completely mushy/pasty on bottom by time I got home and inedible. Not sure why they wouldn t pack separately instead of in the rice. Soup was watered down with no flavour to speak of. It had a few fresh cut mushrooms in it and that all I tasted. Not to mention there was only about 1/2 a cup of it. First and last time ordering from here I m afraid. Server was great. Super polite and friendly so that s something at a least.
I was house-sitting and craving some good Thai food, which is my favourite for the vibrant flavours and portions. Luckily, when driving through the plaza to get groceries for the week, I saw there was a Thai restaurant. I ordered fresh rolls and really enjoyed the fillings and the sauce they came with (though it was barely half full so I did not have enough for my last roll). Unfortunately, I was disappointed by the green curry that was recommended to me over the Pad Thai. It was so bland, I was worried I had Covid and lost my sense of taste and not at all spicy. Ive never ordered green curry and had it not be spicy. I did ask for extra hot sauce to come on the side in case I wanted it spicier and had to use all of it but there was still no flavour from the herbs/ lime. From the other ratings, it seems the Pad Thai would have been a more successful choice.
Awesome spot. Great food.
Get the drunken noodles in Thai hot
Not sure where all the 5 star reviews are coming from. First time ordering from the new restaurant and ordered 3 mains. 1 came with tofu instead of the chicken ordered. Priced way too high for the portion sizes. Lastly, I know basil stir fry should have a little heat to it, but it should not be so hot you cant taste anything else. Gave it a shot and the family was disappointed.
Spring rolls are delicious and the mango rice dessert is mouth watering.
Love this restaurant! The food is always so full of flavour, great portion sizes, and the staff is so kind.
Food is delicious, very flavorful. Friendly and fast service.
Had it for the first time today and yes!! Definitely worth trying and I look forward to coming back. I absolutely loved the Tom Kha soup, oh and the crab Ragoons was too die for. A word for the wise, only two come in each serving and if your thinking about sharing that with your better half...thats sweet but youll fight to the death for that second one after you try it
Chicken pad Thai was hot, fresh and delicious. Definitely recommend and I will return.
Very nice place to eat. I ordered chicken pad Thai absolutely delicious!
