Gina deserves a HUGE shout out! There are not enough words to describe my appreciation for her! Not only is the food she cooks absolutely delicious, it is always so fresh and the portion sizes are spectacular. During the winter time, her restaurant is closed on Tuesdays however, she knew her food is what I wanted for my birthday dinner so she made an exception to cook my family and I the chicken souvlaki meal! This is something she did not have to do, but she did and she went above and beyond… This is what I call dedication and love for her customers and amazing customer service! I highly recommend The Nook for the fact of amazing food and customer service. Please support local and a lady who cares❤️ Thank you a million times over, Gina!
The Nook is the perfect breakfast spot! The food is amazing and the service was top notch. Special shoutout to our server Julia for going above and beyond. She was so friendly and sweet, and she checked in on us regularly. We love Gina’s cooking! The breakfast menu is so so good, and we love ordering the Greek meals for family events!!
All the wraps are served hot, so it's very odd to get a hot wrap with lettuce, tomatoes or cucumbers in it. Makes it soggy and gross. People working were very nice though, I'm sure the other food was great. Just be mindful of the wraps.
Had catering done last weekend, only got the order in a couple days before my son's birthday. Food was great, really appreciate the help Gina! Will absolutely be getting catering here for every event!
Gina catered our sons’s wedding with her famous chicken souvlaki meal! It was a hit and loved by all! Delish! Thank you!
We went for breakfast today as a large group. I called to make a reservation for 12 people, there was no problem in that. We arrived and our table was ready for us. The problem here was that the seating was so tight, we had to have the smaller kids basically climb into their chairs, as they could not be pulled back, and the table could not be moved more forward since there was a pillar there. We placed our order, and kids received their food 20 minutes later, adults had to wait longer, about 20 minutes more, and even then, one person didn't get their food for another 10 minutes. Food was fine, not really the greatest, over hard eggs looks more like scrambled eggs, and over medium looked more like over easy. When we got the bill, the waitress told us that the 20% gratuity for the large group is not included, even though it was printed clearly on the reciept, and she quoted a price that was basically turning out to be a 40% gratuity. We pointed out her error, and she said "you have good eyes". Lastly, we would like to point out that 5 kids ordered chocolate milk, 4 kids drank it up and 1 kids complained that it tasted nasty, so an adult took a sip, and realized it was milk gone bad. Something to watch out for, as that expired milk should not have been served. Overall, we think this is the last time we will be visiting the Nook.
We got seated quickly and then we waited and waited and waited. We should have left and we should have been told at our seating that they were behind and had 2 large takeout orders. We were seated at 5:30 and finally received our meal shortly after 7. Customer service lacked. My meal was cold and was missing cheese and ham on the clubhouse. The bread was cold like it was taken out of the fridge and my salad lacked. My sandwich tasted better the next day after being nuked! My first time but not for the others at the table.
Had a great experience at Nifty Nook in outdoor seating. Our server was wonderful and incredibly kind! She made an awesome chocolate caramel milkshake and didn’t hesitate to give me the remainder she made! Definitely will get bang for your buck at Nifty Nook. The soup of the day was tomato orzo and was phenomenal!! My goodness it is was very hardy and so filling I could not finish my Mini Breakfast platter. They use high quality ingredients and large portions and truly the ideal spot when looking for great food while on a drive. She even brought out a dog bowl for my pup (ft. in photos below). Would definitely recommend visiting Nifty Nook :)
You re getting 1 star because I can t leave zero. Rip off. They take your money but won t let you cancel and they go back on word for order. If you won t refund and agree to feed 25 people you better do as you say. Going back on word and saying can only do 15 is not good. And on top of that they barely had 100$ in meat, probably put 120$ and charged 500$. Not fair, rude and would not recommend.
Service was absolutely terrible, very unorganized. I d prefer to have one server serve me, not two. Took forever to get my coffee, then I had to wait another few minutes for my milk. One server had to run to the store cause the restaurant ran out of milk
Had my father-in -laws birthday party catered for dinner...souvlaki, rice, greek potatoes, greek salad and all the fixins...the food was delicious and abundant (to say the least). It could easily have fed more than we calculated for! Everyone enjoyed it immensley.
Gina and her staff are amazing it s like going home to eat a homemade meal. Portions are very generous too.
Lovely outdoor seating with a great view. Portion sizes are extraordinary. Definitely get your moneys worth! Staff are very attentive and friendly.
If you want a great breakfast, large portions and great service this is the place!!! They are also right beside the racket club so you can watch that from above for entertainment while you eat. The lunch menu is great also! ***Aug 2024*** Went there a few weeks ago and waited along with 2 other tables that were not associated with us and waited for 40 minutes without my order being taken. They seemed to be solely focused on a large table with 10-12 people and ignored 3 seperate tables (this includes mine) to appease the table of 12. There was 3 waitresses on staff including the owner so there was no excuse. All 3 other tables including mine walked out simultaneously. I want them to succeed but I wont return after this experience.
The Nook is a story in itself. Gina, her family and the staff that have dedicated themselves to the operations of this fabulous restaurant, provide an excellent example of hardwork, commitment, experience and dedication to their customers even through the most challenging and painful days of their lives. No one can argue the food is amazing. One or two may argue the service to be not to their own taste or to service their own time schedule...(as these are very busy and important people who delight themselves in exposing the weakness and faults of others while hiding their own)...( my emphasis added). If you are looking for amazing food, a heartwarming story and a heartfelt commitment to feel at home outside your own...The Nook is it ...and leave your selfish ambitions at the door before you walk in..
I would rather not say. The 2 star review says it all.
Great place! Came here with my family For breakfast and it was so delicious! Went with the eggs Benny with salmon and avacado and it was the best I ve had. We couldn t resist and we also got a single pancake of the blueberry cheesecake which, is to die for. My kids were entertained with the colouring and loved the food too! Will definitely come back again.
We recently visited The Nook, and wanted to share my experience in hopes it can help improve future visits for others. Overall, the atmosphere was nice and the food was enjoyable, but we did encounter a few issues that impacted our visit. We were attracted by a sign advertising $5 for domestic beers, but when we ordered, our server did not mention that the beers were actually $5 with the purchase of wings. We had asked which beers are $5 when we saw the $8 beers on the menu, and the server replied all of the ones on tap are $5 so, we ordered a lot more than we would have if we were the real price. It was only when we saw the receipts that we realized the discrepancy. We brought this to the manager, Ginas attention who mentioned that the person who served us wasnt actually our server. As customers, it s difficult to know such details, and we were simply acting on the information provided to us. The manager was rude when we calmly asked if she could fix the error and eventually walked away without resolving the issue. She suggested that we should have read the menu instead of relying on what the server told us. Additionally, we were informed that the server was 15 years old, implying that we should have been cautious about trusting her information. We had no way of knowing her age, and its not reasonable to expect customers to question the validity of what staff members tell them. When we expressed our intention to leave a review about our experience, we were accused of threatening the establishment. This response felt defensive and unprofessional. Despite explaining everything calmly, we were not heard and were treated unfairly. I still did not want to leave a bad review, so I reached out to them via their Facebook page to see if they could still make it right. Unfortunately, they blocked me, which was very disappointing. We hope this feedback is taken constructively, as we genuinely believe The Nook has potential. Clearer communication about promotions and a more understanding approach to customer concerns could greatly enhance the overall experience. We appreciate the effort that goes into running a restaurant and hope these suggestions can help create a better experience for future patrons. WE WILL NOT BE COMING BACK UNLESS IT IS MADE RIGHT ON THEIR END. Feel free to leave an email where I can reach you. P.S our server was good as well, this is just managements fault aka Gina
We ordered from the Nifty Nook a few years ago and it was great. Then suddenly the hours posted were not accurate and they were closed during dinner hour or more. We live out of town and my husband can pick up driving through at 5 pm or so. Dinner time. Closed? Anyway, we heard they moved to a new location and just today tried to stop in and order dinner... at 5pm. Hours posted are 4:30. He was told no one is in the kitchen until 6:30. On a Friday. Im sure lots of people choose take out on a Friday like we do. This will be the last time we try to give them our business. Done
We just left from the restaurant and we have to say the service was amazing. Julia was our server and she was kind, friendly and cared about her customers. Also, the food was so good.
Great wings!
Great location, portions way bigger for a regular human to handle in 1 sitting, everything Ive eaten here has been cooked perfectly and the staff are as great as you could hope for
Didnt get the opportunity to experience anything. Place was closed on a Monday at 1 pm. Apparently staffing issues
Food was amazing. Huge portions. Home cooked. No processed food. The woman who owns the place was doing much if the cooking. And such a great place to eat I have to come and get breakfast there, I hear its absolutely insane. Parking: Plenty of parking. For all size vehicles
Excellent service from Julia! She was so nice and took great care of us. Yummy food and a nice little view
Been going here for years. New location is tucked away, above the Headwaters Racket Club but still an amazing place to eat. 10/10 would recommend
Took my daughter here for our annual daddy-daughter birthday breakfast and had a great time. Julia, our server was friendly and outgoing. The food was cooked perfectly and very tasty. We have had a poor experience at the previous location, but we decided to try the new place and are so glad we did. If they are consistent with their delivery of this type of experience then Orangeville has a real winner on its hands!
The new location is amazing! The food as always is so filling, authentic and delicious (compliments to Gina and Lucien) Ask for Julia when you go. Will not be disappointed
We tried the Nook recently for the first time since their move and are so happy we did! The food was outstanding as well as the service. Julia was our waitress and was absolutely incredible - she provided us with quality service that far exceeded our expectations!
The chicken souvlaki was amazing! Great service.
Excellent Eggs Bennie and Spanish Omelet. Great coffee
We went this morning for brunch. It was not busy but was understaffed. We sat and were given water fairly quick but then we continued to sit for approx 15 minutes while the waitress delivered food to other tables, answered the phone, just stood there . We never had the opportunity to even place an order as she never came to take it for us. There were only 2 waitresses and it was a Sunday at 10 am. Brunch is a busy and popular thing in Orangeville. They should have had sufficient staff for a Sunday morning. Extremely disappointed . From the food that came out it did look plentiful and smelled delicious . Too bad we never go to experience it ourselves
Chicken Greek Salad is awesome!
20 years ago this was a busy restaurant. These days it seems tired and worn down. I hate to say it but it has lost its prior charm. You might as well continue to Orangeville where you have better dining options.
One of the best breakfast in ontario
Great Diner, Staff are very friendly, food is awesome, they even offered me Marmite for my buttered toast. Our waitress Kayla took good care of us and made sure we had everything we needed for our lunch
Great food. Excellent service.
Too expensive, cold waffle, burnt home fries n no fruit that was to be with eggs Benedict
Delicious food, big portions
Great little mom and pop restaurant, friendly, courteous and the food was very good!
Food is made with LOVE !! Yummy
Great breakfast special! Friendly staff.
Closing Sunday
Business has permanently closed.
Nice place! Cute family vibes here! Not many of these types of places left!
Awesome food and staff
I catered the chicken souvlaki meal for 10 people for my daughters birthday on Saturday after reading all the reviews about how awesome the food and service is only to be disappointed. Instead of the food being delivered for 3:30 (lunch time) it came at 5:30. Gina did apologize but that was not enough on my end because the guests were hungry and continuously kept asking me when the food will arrive. I was so embarrassed because this has never happened before at my parties. Anyways, after we got the food two hours later I was further embarrassed because it had so much salt in it and tasted horrible. I don t know how people have been praising The Nook Restaurant when for me the first impression was pathetic. I remember Sabby s and their souvlaki, it was absolutely mouth watering and The Nook s food was zero compared to any souvlaki I ve eaten. Sorry to say but I personally feel owners should make sure they are giving their 100% and providing quality food and service specially if we are paying so much for an event we have organized rather than adding extra stress.
Loving the new location ! The staff is so wonderful you feel like family ! Everyone is so welcoming & the food is amazing! Gina is so wonderful! Everything I ve ordered from here, I ve never been disappointed!! Definitely get those signature cinnamon pancakes they don t lie when they says they can t be duplicated! Overall experience, would 100% go back again! Keep up the amazing work & glad to see you ve opened up well at the new location !!
Waited for over an hour still didnt get our food had to leave as we were running late for a movie.
We were there for Fathers day breakfast Sunday June 18th 2023. 1. Staff seems to be confused, not sure what they were doing when we entered and we had a reservation. 2. Had to wait for 1/2hr before we placed our order. (Staff seemed to be confused) 3. After the waitress took our order, she them proceeded to repeat our order. Everything sounded correct. 4. Order finally came and every ones order was wrong. (Staff seemed to be confused) 5. The owner came and said we needed to speak up while placing our order. (I said we did and the waitress repeated what we ordered) I still dont know how they got it wrong. 6. Finally they corrected everyones order, the food was terrible. 7. The deep fried harsh retained the oil so the potato was very oily, the eggs we asked for were over hard they were all raw on the inside after they sent it back to be corrected, the sausage was a funky smell to them. 8. We ended up just leaving. (The waitress asked if everything ok, I asked her if she really wants me to tell her the truth, she didnt answer)
The Nook and Gina provide outstanding food in a family atmosphere. The portions are generous and the quality is fresh and delicious. Chicken pita is my comfort food and no one can beat the tzatziki!!! Defiantly recommend. Fresh food takes time and well worth the wait. Vegetarian options: Ask Gina she will make you anything! Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessibility
We went in for Fathers Day, knowing it was going to be busy! With this being a new location and new opening we were so impressed. We love the new location, the outside patio is lovely! The staff are always friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Gina and her family have a great group there. They are like one big family! Our food is always delicious, even if the place is busy, our food is always hot! It always makes me happy to go to The Nook!!
Kid-friendliness: Even a childrens menu. Wheelchair accessibility: There is an elevator just inside the front door of the racquet club which takes you to the second floor. Food : 5/5 |
I stumbled upon The Nook recently and it was a total win! Tons of free parking nearby, which is a huge plus. You walk in and it s this cool mix of a sports bar and a relaxed restaurant vibe. The owner, Gina, has really nailed it. She s great and you can tell she puts her heart into this place. The staff is super nice too - they make you feel right at home. They ve got a pretty sweet drink menu. I had a few beers on tap and my girlfriend loved the sangrias. I ve heard the smoothies are good too, might have to try one next time. I went for the steak with roasted potatoes and a Caesar salad. My girlfriend had salmon and a greek salad. Both were incredible and very filling. I ve been told their cinnamon roll pancakes are to die for. Sounds like breakfast next time is sorted! Bottom line, The Nook is just different - in a good way. It s got a great atmosphere, awesome food, and a unique character that I haven t found anywhere else in the area. Can t wait for my next visit! Parking: Huge parking lot, tons of spaces. Wheelchair accessibility: There are ramps outside in the parking lot and elevators that lead to the restaurant.
Family owned and operated, everything is scratch made, great food. Vegetarian options: Want veggie options? Just ask ! Kid-friendliness: Will make just about anything your kid wants just ask
Thought we d try out the restaurant after a workout at the gym. Yes, the fact that there s a greasy breakfast place in a gym isn t lost on me, but nevertheless, thought we d give them a shot. We were the first ones in the restaurant as a group of 6 with about 4-5 staff members working that morning. It was the waitress first day by her own admission and she did well for her first day. My disappointment has to do with the fact that the restaurant either ONLY accepted cash or e-transfer, which for a restaurant in a facility like the Headwaters Racquet Club seems awfully suspicious and lessening of the facility. While I understand that this was normal practice at their previous location, it doesn t translate well to the new location. Additionally, while the eggs and bacon were comparable to other breakfast locations, both chain and independent, or even ones you make at home, the potatoes were beyond subpar. Zero flavour or seasoning to them. When brought to the attention of staff, they stated that they were the wrong potatoes that were used hence the poor taste, YET, there was no attempt at any sort of compensation for the lack of quality of the potatoes, which you would likely get at any other restaurant if the food was less than acceptable. We tried to chalk it up to opening week jitters, and decided to return for a wing night on a Thursday but were also disappointed at that time. Waiting over an hour for a salad and 7 wings that taste like wings from any other restaurant is less than acceptable. Definitely not a location that we will be returning to, as there as many other restaurants in town that are significantly better. I suggest Deja Vu for breakfast and The Hatter if you re feeling wings, and youll have a far better dining experience.
Love The Nook! Gina is great! Food is always delicious. My personal favourites are the eggs benny (any one of them) or the souvlaki! Service was pleasant as always our last visit, but although quiet at the restaurant (we went early aft.) it was a bit of a long wait for the food. Will always return, as Im sure this was just a hiccup. Two thumbs up!
My husband and I were excited to finally try The Nook . We ve only heard amazing things and when we woke up this morning we decided to give it a try. We ordered take out for our family of five (3 very hungry kiddies) The lady on the phone said our order worked be ready in 20-25 mins. I arrived at the 25 min mark and was told my order wasn t quite ready yet to take a seat and have a coffee on the house, perfect not a problem. However.. 10 minutes go by, 20 minutes go by, 30 mins go by .I sat there for an additional 35 mins. The only word I got from a waitress was I put the order in when you called . so obviously she didn t put my order in and lied to me. It would have been nice to get a straight up answer and say she s sorry, she was busy in the moment and forgot to give the kitchen my order; which would have been fine, I could have ran a quick errand. The restaurant wasn t that busy. Maybe 7 to 8 tables were full. either way.. food wasn t anything to rave about. We will not return.
Sadly, my order was cooked food placed on cold plates. Hence, my breakfast was not hot. Serving plates should be warmed up first, please. No one came to us after we received our order, just to see if everything was OK. We did speak to a staff member just when Bill was brought to us.
Went for brunch. Very few people there. Was not impressed with the up charges. $1.95 extra for rye toast is ridiculous. Not one thing on my plate was hot. Eggs were warm, potatoes were warm. Bacon and toast were cold. Staff was friendly and service was good. Will not return. Food
Service was fantastic, food was exactly what we came in for. A great little spot for brunch on the weekend!
Wonderful food, friendly staff and great customer service!! Would definitely recommend.
Great food & beer! Came after a game of squash and was happy to be invited in by such wonderful people!
Amazing service with lots of delicious gluten free options! The staff went above and beyond to accommodate our dietary requirements!
Good food. I like the tender chicken nugget. The fruit is very fresh.
Came for dinner and left completely satisfied. Gina and her staff are amazing. We will definitely be going back.
Lovely take-out experiences! Their chicken souvlaki and Greek salad were certainly favourites in our home. So fresh and full of flavour. We will be back again soon and highly recommend! Food
The nook is an awesome place for breakfast
Hours posted are incorrect. Here at 5pm and they are closed.
Cold coffee to start. The food was mediocre. We found the surroundings a little depressing. The waitress was great. Wheelchair accessibility: None that I saw, the stairs to the restaurant are a bit steep, not disabled friendly at all.
We have gone to their old location a few times. My husband wanted to check out their new location and the food was alright but their eggs and sausage was not as good as I expected for a breakfast restaurant. We decided to try them a second time and brought my MIL & SIL with us. Being a larger group (4 adults + 2 kids), I called in advance to book a reservation for 1:45pm. We arrived on time and wait to get someones attention. When someone finally sees us waiting by the door, they dont seem to know about our reservation and there was no table ready for us. We had to wait while they scrabbled to get a table together and squished us onto 1 table that usually seat 4. Then we ordered. It was almost an hour before they came to say they were just putting on our food as they had a problem with the sausage or bacon (I cant remember their reason). They offer us some drinks but we decline as we are not big on mimosas and the other things they offered. Then they come back to tell us my MIL meal doesnt look right and they want to offer her a different meat for her meal. Could they not have told her while we waited for the other meat to arrive? Then they proceed to give us the kids meals first but we realize we dont have utensils. So I have to get up and hunt down someone for utensils so my kids can get started as they are STARVING since it has been over an hour since we sat down and ordered. They tell me that they need to get some napkins and leave for longer than I though would be necessary for napkins so I start to grab my kids utensils myself. I need to cut my kids pancakes and get them started. The server comes back to find me helping myself to the forks and knives and starts telling me something about how she had to track down the napkins and it took longer then normal. They dont need napkins this second, they need forks and knifes. Also, I dont want their food to get cold. The adult meals finally come out and they were nothing to write home about. My scrabbled eggs were undercooked (I assume they were trying to rush them out) and toast was burnt. No one was loving their meals except the kids as they love chocolate chip pancakes. No one came to check how the food was. When the bill finally came, there was no discount, no coffee removed or any kind of monetary compensation. We got there at 1:45 and left at 3:30 for a $90+ bill and mediocre food. Considering this was their second chance with me, I wont be going back or recommending them.
Not sure if this are the same owners if jt is zna e on them!. Gina Jimmy are at ut again. The previous owners were i volved withe drugs. Its a dirty business! Service
Not too bad. Go with the souvlaki. Service was excellent. Food average except the . souvlaki.
We had a fantastic experience eating at The Nook with a group of special friends! Service was excellent from the moment we walked in the door. The restaurant is lovely, and our breakfast was served quickly. It was hot, served as ordered, and delicious. The owner and our waitress were attentive and so personable. Our guests were as happy as we were with the experience. We ll be back for sure.
A local icon in business since 1957
Great staff great food. Portions plenty. Staff was observing virus protocol. No panic. Will always go back when Im in town!
Love the staff Incredible food
Awesome and wholesome
This a traditional coffee shop, but with good brewed coffee. Portions are generous and good quality.
Will be back a thousand times and tell anyone who will listen. Thank you
Great Place Great food Super friendly Staff
My family and I ate here for breakfast, we received such a warm welcome. The service was wonderful, and the food was delicious! I also love that they have large Sized coffee mugs. We will certainly be back again and recommend this to our friends! Thanks again for a great breakfast!
Most amazing food and staff, I have always had the best service here, and the food if it s take out or eat in is always fantastic! Highly recommend
I snowmobiled from Sauble Beach to the Nifty Nook yesterday. I had an amazing experience. The waitress made me feel at home, the food was amazing. I will be back for sure. I highly recommend to anyone. Good luck eating everything that comes to you
Great food, friendly staff and atmosphere. Do not believe the negative reviews on here. They are a complete lie and made to target this place because it has a different opinion on things. Im a regular customer and have not been disappointed
Where do I even begin? The service was outstanding; warmth and laughter was abundant here. The food was fantastic and filling; large portions and lots of options. Feels like a home rather than a business. 10/10 would recommend
AMAZING FOOD, SERVICE AND ATMOSPHERE cant believe it took me this long to try it, If you havent been there yet DONT WAIT THANKS NIFTY NOOK
Service was awesome staff are great, food was very good and filling could not finish full meal. Definitely will go back.
Wonderful, Homemade food The Chicken Slovacki was terrific, Great staff friendly Take out March 19th 2022 Eggs Benny for Beakfast mmmm
Great food but don t go in hungry cause you will wait an hour or 2 for your food and you have to remind the waitress multiple times if you want more coffee or takeout containers
The owner makes you feel like family, and the food tastes like home cooking, what more can you ask for! Thanks Gina for all you do for our community!
Good food and friendly atmosphere :)
It was busy today due to mothers day, but glad to have been there
Terrible Service, we were seated and then ignored. We sat for 20 min June 19 2022 and had to ask for a menu. During that time everyone that was seated after us got their coffee and placed orders. 29 minutes past before we got coffee. Home fries and bacon were cold. First time in 47 years I did not leave a tip.
Great place. Very friendly and the portions are just so huge!!! Didnt think we could handle it all, but slowly we did!! Thank you for the amazing food and exceptional service
Good food portions.
We were looking for a diner in the area and this was perfect! Food was amazing, good prices and the service was incredibly friendly. Would recommend it without a doubt !
Massively good breakfast! Portions and food are awesome!
Local hero s (during covid they held their community up) from feeding nurses, retirement home workers .just so many amazing acts of kindness The amazing food, hospitality- Gina hand delivering family meals over the holidays- and even cooking off menu items ( trays of grilled and fried calamari) during the holiday season . I simply can t say enough good things about this community gem.
Breakfast was delicious! Staff was really nice and the best was the cinammon roll pancake!
Great food, great prices, great service. Try their homemade pies!!
Very friendly staff, breakfast was very good! Must try their cinnamon pancakes very good.
I have never had a bad experience like I did today even my husband said it was terrible. I had asked for sausages not sure what I bite into but it was gross . Everything was cold including my coffee. I asked one 1 waitress what kind of sausage it was she said and I quote I dont know . Well you should know you work there. The service was completely unprofessional & I know for a fact I will never go back.
Delicious food and quick service. Highly recommend!
We love it!!! They have gleuten free options!
Its just good for breakfast.
Lovely little store, run by very friendly people and delicious food!
Love trying new breakfast spots. Definitely the biggest and delicious pancakes thus far. All day breakfast and lunch, I really recommend the Hercules burger if your a Greek food fan ! Family oriented spot. Caring and clean waitresses just a overall good experience. Will be coming again soon
I arrived today, Sept 25 22, at 11:02 am starving. I went to the bathroom, washed my hands, and was directed to a seat by a young girl (server #1) who gave me a menu, asked if I wanted coffee (decaf, please - I have a heart procedure tomorrow) and left. Over the next half hour, I was asked three more times (twice by server #1) to eventually be told by S#1 there was no decaf coffee, they were out. I asked for a glass of water with lemon (sure thing). At 11:29 am, Server #2 asked what I wanted. I said I was undecided between three dishes and asked what she recommended. Her response was the supremely unhelpful whatever you want and tells me she doesnt know anything about the menu items. She said the roast beef dinner (she called it hot beef, which is another item completely) was on sale so I ordered that with fries and Greek salad. Five minutes later, she plonked a cup of coffee in front of me. It was 2/3 full and I could smell the burn before I picked it up. Six creamers in and it was still bitter and burnt tasting. I tried two spoons but couldnt trust that it was actually decaf so left it. At 11:45, I left, still starving, because I have work to do. Pretty sure theres a MacDonalds down the road.
We got nifty nook for my daughters birthday party this past weekend and the food was excellent! My family was very pleased. The portions were large enough to feed us all with leftovers as well. This is the 2nd year in a row we have gone to them and we will continue to come back. Thank you Gina and staff for everything
Food was delicious but took over 45min to arrive once seated.
Mediocre food (potatoes were OK, but cold) and very expensive. The door has a big display that seniors get 10% off. But when ordering was told this only applies on weekends. Nothing about that on the door. Also, the menu says that coffee is included with breakfast, but when paying was told that only applies on weekends, and so we were charged $3.50 for each of two coffees. Asked for rye toast, and was told that was extra $1.95! We ordered one bacon and eggs and one eggs with potatoes (no meat) along with coffees, rye toast and then and one extra order of toast, for a total of $39.60, before tips! Only reason I am not giving this one star, was that service was friendly.
Amazing food !!!!
not impressed that every link to their website goes to skip the dishes where they wont deliver to me here, so i cant even see the menu, will not be visiting here, sorry. Get your IT in order please
Had a great breakfast this morning. Then realized I did not have my key fob, could not start my car. One of the wonderful staff members loaned her car to us to go home.and get our key fob. Couldnt get this service anywhere else.
I have recently discovered Nifty Nook through our Orangeville community. Definitely the best greek that i ever had I had a pick up order for a Family greek, delicious food. I will definitely order again. Thank a lot guys for everything that you do! All the best.
Excellent taste
Soooo Good
Absolutely amazing food! Great flavour, good quantity, friendly staff. What more could you ask for? Tried the chicken souvlaki meal, highly recommended.
Saw reviews on FB for Greek Dinner Delivery in Grand Valley. Wanted to try something different so we ordered for a Friday Delivery night. Friday was Sold Out so I ordered on a Wednesday for an additional Delivery date on Sunday, so do not expect to order for delivery the same day...not happening. Ordering ahead was totally worth it! I knew cooking was not required Sunday night...woohoo! Everything arrived about 3:30 in aluminum containers, totally reheatable! We are authentic Greek food lovers and the Souvlaki, salad, rice, potatoes and tzatziki did not disappoint!! Fantastic flavours! Perfectly cooked, tender, moist Souvlaki! The best tzatziki I have had in a long time!! The portions were generous too! This meal and the delivery service was worth EVERY PENNY! We will definitely be ordering the family meal again! Big thanks to the Nifty Nook for an amazing dinner option and for looking after us in Grand Valley!
Friendly staff. Ordered takeout. The food was amazing. Fresh, hot and full of flavor. Would definitely come back
Gina and her team are amazing! Excellent food, incredible portions and truly good good people...what more could you ask for!
Two stars for the insanely large portions. Although the rice and chicken was so dry it was garbage the next day so thats a shame. Decided to try it after seeing all the reviews. I would prefer quality over quantity myself and will not be ordering there again.
Amazing service and DELICIOUS food. Just wholesome, old fashioned, fresh home cooking. Our servers and the staff were all so friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be back...probably tomorrow!
Most AMAZING Gluten Free pancakes EVER! My daughter has Celiac and I often eat GF food to test it and compare to the real thing. I decided to order the GF pancakes this past Friday and what JOY! I didnt even believe they were GF at first. They are so fluffy and soft and HUGE. I cannot wait to bring my daughter here to experience this DELICIOUSNESS!!!! She will be so excited! I will try the GF French Toast next time. I am sure they have many GF options however I have only gone for breakfast and will definitely continue to do so. This place is warm and welcoming and the service is AMAZING also. Love the Nifty Nook, probably my favourite breakfast place of all time. I took my Celiac daughter for her 10th birthday and it was MAGICAL... Thank you GINA!!! Thank you for making her breakfast so special for her. Our entire breakfast was GF and Gina surprised my daughter with a whip cream topped Birthday surprise. We will be ordering for catering for our next family function. Looking so forward to trying her traditional Greek GF dishes!!!!! Will revise again!
Always generous portioned home cooked meals and yes I am a regular for this reason .
The Nifty Nook is a great family restaurant - food tastes great and served with a smile! Dont miss a chance to eat here if youre in the neighbourhood. Best in Orangeville!
Great breakfasts
Wonderful food and beverages. Great service. Wonderful family appmisfar.
Had breakfast there quite a few times once the COVID-19 bans started to lift. We love that they introduced sitting outdoors, because felt a but closed-in indoors. However, the food is good, the service is good and the servers are friendly, and very helpful. Hope they keep the outdoor option because the space is so open and it gives a great feeling, especially on bring, sunny days! Well recommended.
Omg...so full! The gyro wrap is delicious with a great garlicky sauce.
Sweet and cozy great place for quick breakfast always leave full
Good food, great people! Overall a wonderful experience. I had the peameal bacon combo with eggs over medium and chocolate chip pancakes. The side of homefries was dusted in a seasoning that I personally didnt enjoy much but, it was still okay. Everything else was fantastic.
Great food. Great people
Really good breakfast, friendly staff- took time to joke and talk to the kids A great place for family - and our party of 10
This place has the most amazing food huge portions.... From the Cinnabon pancakes to die for the Nutella stuffed French toast and the potatoes with sauteed onions on top, bacon and eggs cooked to perfection. This place is absolutely an awesome gem for breakfast . I also hear that the Greek food here is to die for . The owner Gina always comes to greet you shes absolutely amazing.
Sad to say this but I been going here since I was a little kid way way back when Mary the British lady was a waitress! I moved away for 20 years and now I been back for 3 years and the place is terrible, sent back my uncooked pancakes and ate the rest of the wifes hotbeef that was dry. Go to pay the bill and the owner Gina charged us for all of it, I mentioned that they we uncooked and all she did was give me $5 back and told me I ate most of it. I ate 3 bites one from each pancakes smh... We will not be going back ever again poor food poor service and poor management. Childhood memories are all that remain. No option for zero star rating
Staff dont wear masks, even inside. Shocking disregard for public safety. Also, found a hair in my food.
Really disappointed to find that 4/5 of the wait staff as well as the entire kitchen staff were not wearing masks in the inside dining areas, the kitchen and outside while serving us. Explanation was that each staff member has the choice to wear a mask inside or outside patio even though its provincially mandated. Really bad
Always have a good feast here prices are fair considering the platter of food you get and the staff has always been top notch with
Average at best. Rude staff. Just a mess, I dont know why people locally idolize this restaurant, tons of better options.. especially for breakfast food. The amount of times Ive had burned bacon from here is bonkers.
Ive never had a bad meal here. Easily, without question, the best place in town for breakfast! The portions are ginormous and the food is always sooooo so delicious! I just tried the Baja Benny Special and it was to die for!
Visiting from out of town and found this cute place.. food and service were fantastic Great place for breakfast
Best pancakes ever ! You have to try the cinnamon bun pancake ! Our food came out hot and fresh . Definitely worth a visit.
Best pancakes Ive ever had!
Food was excellent.
When to a family function in Orangeville on Sunday which was catered by this place. Food was very good. I had potatoes chicken and salad. All were very tasty and chicken was tender. Great job on the food My nephew owns a local business and he was the person who paid so I m not sure on pricing (A/Z Batting cages)
Decent breakfast food, quick service but overpriced for what you get. Coffee is not included in the meal and was $3.10 extra for each.
I have been going to the Nifty Nook for about 30 years and the restaurant has seen a few different owners. I am so glad that the quality of food and the service has stayed the same ALMOST. My breakfast was delicious, but I wasnt offered a second cup of coffee. Being a truck driver this is a very important part of my breakfast and the reason behind the 4 Star rating. Thank you.
Slow/no service. Pay 3.50 for unlimited refills of coffee only got one coffee that was finished while waiting 1.5 hours for lukewarm food. Asked for more, never came. Servers don t wear masks but make sure to check vaccine passports? Asked what we wanted to order but we hadn t received menus. Got our meals and I asked for cutlery and mid asking the server just walked away. My husband had to go up and ask for cutlery (and coffee that never came). This was my first experience here, we came based off the recommendation from family. We will not be back.
Staff dont wear masks. Atmosphere was crowded. Somehow the restaurant was loud but we were one of the only ones in here. I had the eggs and ham. The eggs were so overcooked and greasy. The ham was just poor quality and covered in oil. I also had the home fries which were sub par. Not impressed. I dont think we will be coming back
Great food. Very generous portions.
Very accommodating and friendly staff looked after a small party of 6 on an early Sunday. Food was great and everyone left happy. Thanks to the staff!
Cant order through skip or door dash pickup or delivery. Called to ask and was put on hold and forgotten.
Really good
Cinnamon bun pancake!!!!
Portions are big, the staff are awesome, overall a great spot
Absolutely one of the finest home cooked meals you could ask for. Food is very good and the portions are huge! Ive gone there when Im in the area and each and every time Ive been greeted with friendly staff and the owners are more than friendly. Make you feel like youre part of the family. Highly recomended to anyone that wants a friendly environment with a honest and home cooked meal. See you again real soon Nift Nook
Recently went for a drive with my family. Stopped in at the Nifty Nook for something to eat. Was surprised at how homey and warm the place felt. Table ordered the Cinnamon Bun Pancakes, the Eggs Benedict and the Nifty Nook Meat Platter. Was shocked at the size and the taste. Delicious. Its an hours drive from Toronto but well worth it. Will be back again real soon!!!
The food was awesome, and the staff was so sweet and attentive.
Such a lovely diner. Had a great breakfast and a great server.
Caring beautiful people, incredibly tasty food and huge portions
The best cinnamon roll pancakes ever. Thank you for making my Mothers Day super special!
Friendly good food excellent service!!!!
Food is delicious, the staff are so nice and the service you get is excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant. You won t be disappointed
Great family place, very caring staff.
Great food and great service. My family and I are treated like family when we walk through the door. Their cinnamon roll pancakes are a must try and they have the juiciest burgers around. You will never walk out of there hungry.
Love the Nifty Nook! A go-to for brunch. Also love the pivot during COVID for homemade pies, etc. Definitely recommend to everyone looking for a good meal.
Nice Fathers day breakfast on the patio
Very accommodating. We had our grand daughter with us and they were very patient with her..I really appreciated that
The food was delicious and the service was great!
Amazing food perfect service and great price
Always delicious, one of my favorite places for brunch.
My new favorite breakfast and lunch spot. The Cinnamon roll Pancakes were amazing!! The portions are so big too! Service is super friendly and quick. I cant wait to try more of their menu!!
The food and service was amazing five stars for me
Best cinnamon roll pancakes!
Under staffed, slow service. Food was fine.
Super friendly and welcoming staff! Best breakfast place in town (especially their pancakes!) :)
Good food, great place to stop.
One of the best breakfast places ive been too. Its a hidden gem! MUST TRY THE CINNABUN PANCAKES!
Best toasted western and Blt in the country
The must stop along the way!
Cute little place in Mono. Just found this breakfast place while motorcycle riding. Stared of a bit shaky. Got the order incorrect, we did whaite a bit long for our food to arrive. Eventually we did have our breakfast it was really good . The owner came over and apologized the service was nice and friendly. They were very busy so for that we cant fault them. Food is great. Take a stop in this spot for a bite Clean environment. The owner is really lovely. Keep supporting local businesses.
Greasy food. Veeeery slow service. The place looks quite dirty. The cutlery is set on a table in front of the entrance, not sure if its safe during Covid pandemic.
Very, very greasy food. The waiting time for the food was ok, but the subsequent coffee refill and bill waiting times were terrible. Had to ask multiple times.
Not a bad place to have breakfast. Good was hot and what I expectes
It was an amazing. Great services , good food
Fast and friendly service. Fantastic cinnamon roll pancakes. Yum! Thank you
First time in this restaurant. Staff are friendly and helpful. Good food at reasonable prices. Highly recommended.
Food was really good, but I the prices reminded me of Yorkville.
Great restaurant for breakfast or lunch as that is why we found it online and stopped for a huge meal after Mono Cliffs Workout. Great friendly staff and the meals, well back to country meals as they are huge, no skimping and overall great food. They offer take out, orders and have setup outdoor dinning. Thanks Nifty Nook staff for a well deserved brunch and before closing for a Sunday even better.
Decent place to eat. Big portions.
The owner Gina is amazing and so is the food. Great place for breakfast!
Great and quality.
This restaurant has really turned itself around in my eyes. I have only been out once this year but when I got the opportunity to go it was so beautifully done. Newfie night was just perfect for my Newfoundlander family that reserved a table and were the only ones sitting in the restaurant. We got amazing service and the misses who has added the amazing Newfie touches to Nifty altogether is an angel. Will for sure be ordering more in the future, especially if there is some Newf food..
Use to be my husbands favourite but CoVid has changed things for all. Food is edible, service acceptable now. I cant wait for pandemic to be over and get their historically fabulous food back. Tough times for all.
