This place is EXPENSIVE! Over the last year I've dined with a few friends who decided to look for a local buffet style, with very limited options. As a result, we've come here a few times and after each visit, I can feel the hole burning in my pocket. The food is delicious, I've had no problems with the food, in fact I very much enjoy it so. But the price doesn't justify it, especially when even on a Monday Lunch when half the menu isn't even available, you can't even get something as simple as noodles for $35 just by yourself. There are plenty of local places opening up more as well as previous ones now offering similar items for a much affordable price. If you're someone who has money to blow and wants a buffet style experience, then by all means this is the place. However, if you're like most people who are having a tough time in this current economy, then I suggest to steer clear as two people alone on a Lunch day can cost more than a group dinner at any restaurant in the city.
40$ a person on a Monday! The food was decent, they were stingy with the condiments (gave us little wasabi, no ginger, no dipping sauce for the tempura) but the biggest thing was price! 38.99 per person on a Monday!! It was fine food but not worth that. Buyer beware, we should have checked before sitting down.
It’s really over prices for an all you can eat sushi, expect to spend $50 per person on avg, was shocked when I took my son (8 yrs old) and the bill was $95, we didn’t have anything extra like drinks or additions. I am reluctant to go here as it worth the drive to Brampton for a more reasonable priced sushi place.
I got there with my girlfriend and a friend and they got all you can eat. I had already eaten before we came and wasn’t very hungry, so I decided to just order a few items individually. As soon as I told the server this she was extremely rude, making me feel like I was trying to eat my friend’s food for free or something. I assumed it would be better after I ordered my food but no… she came over and grabbed my menu that I was looking at and then asked what I wanted while I was still trying to figure it out. I ended up rushing to order since she was being so pushy and got crispy rolls. I was going to get something else but never had the chance to order. We tried to explain this to who I think is the manager but all he said was “oh she just looks cool”? I’m assuming he meant that she just doesn’t look nice? However we tried to explain that she was verbally rude to us whenever we asked for anything. His response was asking if I wanted anything to drink after I already paid my bill. Like no I don’t. She kept giving me dirty looks and was talking about me to her coworkers in another language and pointing at me right in front of us, I felt super uncomfortable and it wasn’t a nice experience but the food was ok but I’ve never had such bad service.
Food is fantastic, fresh, flavorful and looks great. Place is very nice inside. Servers were friendly. The only disappointment for us was. We ordered multiples of sashimi and they would only bring 1 single portion. Then I would have to order it again. They would just be partial orders. Wondering if the rest is still coming. Disappointing
Great food and vibes, excellent service. We did the all you can eat and definitely got our bang for our buck. Being able to control what you recieved and when was really great, and being able to just order from the specific menu without worrying about accidentally ordering something not included was fantastic. We went after lunch on a Tuesday and it was calm - we had a ton of time to relax and dine at our leisure. Will definitely be going back!
We are in the area and been searching for an Asian restaurant, and we chose Sushi Kaika, and we don't regret coming here. We enjoyed the food and chose what we wanted. We had 1 piece of everything and re ordered the most that we wanted, we filled our tummy and can't order dessert. I was surprised with sesame chicken coz it was cooked nice, it was crunchy and soft and not very sweet. Eat all you can and dine in, money worth it as well. Would love to go back and highly recommended. April 22, 2024 I came back with a friend for dinner before heading for another hike. We enjoyed the food. Everything taste great.
Dined in on a surprise visit as I, have yet to of hear of the business. Amazing wonton soup, pork &, dumpling. The service is on an extremely great level. That which reminds me of dining in a fine Korean open grill in Toronto. I paired my lunch with Sapporo beer which perfected matched the subtle notes of every flavour. Defiantly will be returning. Staff is happy and helpful!
Always enjoy our food here
Delicious, easy to order, fast service.
Pricey!
The place was just about empty when we arrived. The food is to die for! Nice size portions and it was all-you-can-eat!
Would it be so bad to at least smile while serving the customer. Just horrible. Food was ok meh dont think ill be back
Beautifully satisfying Vegetarian options: Seaweed Food : 4/5 |
My two daughters love eating here because they have small portions, so it is possible to try a bit of everything. The food is also good and the environment is very quiet and peaceful when we go
We had another expectation of the place. The quality of the food is not good, they do not use quality rice to make sushi. In general we didnt like anything nor the service either. They charged my 2 year old baby and he didnt eat anything. Very expensive for the price. I could recommend other restaurants in the area.
Not as large a selection as some of the chain restaurants. But the food is very good.
The menu is small they have no sashimi they dont even have spicy salmon
I used to come here all the time about 10 years ago. Wow it s lost some quality. $110 for two people and we drank water. Sushi is decent, fried dishes were overdone with batter and minimal meat. Sashimi pieces are tiny tiny. I would just order a roll or two off the menu if I come back again
First and last visit. We ordered apple juice for my 2yo and they gave us beer, too bad we realized after my son had already drink some of it. Then the noodle soup had a big piece of plastic and yes we realized after we already start eating it. They did give us a 20% off which I pretty much give it back with the tip.
Good food, good service, will go back
Food is excellent, friendly staff, great environment. I recommend here anytime.
Ive only done takeout, so my thoughts may be limited. But they were fast and very accommodating. They made exactly what I wanted, even if I wasnt on the menu
Good place for all-you-can-eat sushi . Just want to add for Management. Please serve the dish how it looks in Menu.
Delicious food, great service, and everything was very fresh. Highly recommended! Food was also quick to come!
Always excellent Shrimp Teriyaki in a comfortable, pleasant setting!
Fantastic service, clean and comfortable atmosphere. Food was all you can eat, fast and delicious. You do have to ask for the Wasabi which I fully understand. Will be returning!
Is there a wasabi and ginger shortage that I m unaware of ?? My family attended Sushi Kaika last week and were satisfied with the food, but Japanese Sushi restaurants usually have condiments such as wasabi and ginger to accompany the meal. We asked three separate times for the condiments and to three separate servers and someone who appeared to be manager and still nothing. I felt very ignored. If you don t want to give it away, just be honest about it and don t beat around the bush. Tell me you don t have any instead of waiting around all the time. I would have just walked over to Sobeys and bought some if that was the case. Other than that, the food was pretty good.
The average rating here is probably accurate. The service is good and the price is fair. The only critique is that the selection is a little bit limited (or maybe I just didnt like a couple pages worth of items). They should do an analysis on least ordered items and replace them with something more interesting.
If I could rate this place 0 stars trust me I would I am a sushi lover die hard raw sushi fan I love it.. but this place is trash.. I took one bite and spit it out.. it s not fresh it has a very fishy smell and taste.. the rice had very little flavour it s so bad!! I have celiac therefor I cannot have gluten (the tempura) so I asked kindly if they could make sure my sushi didn t contain any tempura and the attitude I received from the owner was disgusting.. rolled his eyes at me and was very dismissive.. anyways I couldn t feed this fish to my dog.. or a damn raccoon LOL sorry not sorry
Over priced grocery store quality sushi. Tonight was our 3rd and last attempt at trying this place. Heres how our experience goes, every time. They bring us room temperature tap water, in plastic cups, half full, no straws or ice. The orders they do remember to bring out are always cold and skimpy portions. The server will never check on you, to see how youre doing and if you need anything. Only time you will see them is when theyre bringing your awful food or someone elses order by accident. Service is as bad as the food. Our stomachs felt awful after. Real shame, cause we love sushi, and this is sadly the only place in town. From now on well make the drive to the sushi places we know are good.
Had the AYCE and pick up multiple times and it is always fantastic. The sushi is absolutely delicious. Our go to place for sushi in Orangeville. The restaurant itself is pleasant for a nice evening and service is good and fast.
Over priced for limited selection ,server dropped plates onto table with a bang constantly to the point where she may as well tossed plates considering only three or for tables were occupied no need for such it deeply affected the mood
The food i received from this restaurant was truly the best sushi Ive had in ages. Everything was perfect and so delicious, the tempura shrimp sent my soul to heaven (and came right back to write this review) and the dumplings tasted sooooo good I shed a single tear of pure joy after the first bite. Highly recommend, will be dreaming of sushi kaika for the rest of the month
This restaurant has seriously gone down hill.... the food is no longer fresh, and the service is ridiculous. My wife and I went to eat on Saturday, looking forward to having sushi. After being sat.... we were ignored for 22 minutes!!!.... people who came in after us were served and we were ignored..... we ended up walking out and going across the mall to the great Thai restaurant...... I would avoid at all cost!!
Beautiful restaurant inside and great staff. Unfortunately the food is not good. Very tasteless rolls and are made extremely big with little to no filling just avocado. The fried rice was hard couldn t chew it. I do not recommend this if you are a sushi lover you will be disappointed. Drive the half an hour to another city.
Pretty fire ngl for a all you can eat place hard to find one here and good fish
Very good sushi and noodles. Excellent service
Everything here was absolutely incredible. The food was amazing, service was friendly, and the atmosphere was really nice.
Recommend
Horrendous and so expensive
My favorite sushi spot in town!
They serve uncooked chicken ! Showed the manager the chicken is uncooked and instead of him apologizing and giving a fresh order he stated the chicken was marinated and that it was cooked. That s a lie it was uncooked and the chicken smelled old ! If you order or eat here don t order the fried chicken !
The food is decent, however after paying $45 a person you are not aloud to remove cucumber from a roll without an additional charge. I was also mildly disappointed by the owner, whom is very rude. I have never not left a gratuity after dining out, and sometimes do that with cash regardless of how I pay for the meal. Immediately after the owner saw there was no tip on the credit machine he asked did you not like the servers, so didn t leave a tip . Interesting comment as tipping is not mandatory, and you have no clue if a cash tip was on route. I would certainly work on customer service.
Food was amazing, they got slammed and were very polite and helpful. I was very happy with the dinner. Will definitely be going back.
This use to be my favorite place to go, after the old owners sold and the new owners re opened, the customer service is very poor. I am disappointed because Ive tried multiple times to give it a second chance, but waiting 15 minutes to even be acknowledged your there even when not busy is not good. They seem like they dont care. Very disappointed. I hope they make some changes or I will not be returning, and I know Im not the only one.
Spend date night with husband today. Overall very good experience- the food came quick, awesome variety, very pleasant staff. My husband said the food was tasty.
Vegetarian options: So so Food
The food was good in taste. We ordered shushi and fried noodles. Noodles was really good. Sushi was not as fresh as expected! Good vibes, decent atmosphere, pretty fast service, ample parking.
Sadly, the quality has gone down. It is expensive and the menu seems smaller?
Literally wish I could give zero stars. My last visit was absolutely horrible. I have loved Sushi Kaika for years now, and have gone there very often. The last time I went though, there was a new waiter that was just absolutely horrible. First off, we had 4 pieces of sushi left once we were done and full. We were told we would have to pay for a full roll extra if we didn t finish what was left. I didn t know it was a regular business practice to force your customers to eat more food and make themselves sick. I m shocked by the man that served us, just continuously hovering and making sure we eat every last piece. On top of that, your sushi just straight up sucks, and is massively overpriced. If you want good sushi, go to Sushi Date in Bolton. Better quality and much more reasonably priced. More importantly, they don t force you to eat until you re sick.
Stopped in for lunch on our way home. AYCE sushi was ok. About what I would expect, not amazing, not bad. $28/person for lunch on a Monday is pretty pricey IMO. Also very annoyed to find they had no change table in the washroom to change my 6 month old, had to take her out to the car in winter to do so. There would certainly be ample space to have a change table in the washroom and the law in Ontario requires restaurants built after 2015 to have change tables. Parking: Parking was good.
Lunch buffet was very good. Fresh food !
Best Sushi in town! Fresh and delicious every time.
Slow service, waited almost 30min per order of rollls, had to ask multiple times just to get anything. Counted 3 skipthedishes order go out for every small order for the few tables that came in to eat.
Ordered the A10, Maki and sushi platter to go. It was good, clean and fresh. No complaints and would definitely order from there again. I found out recently they also do AYCE and have to try that. Overall it was a good experience and would recommend the take out. I was initially worried after reading some of the reviews after ordering but it doesnt seem to be the case. I would recommend the take out for sure.
Great service, order iPad worked great. Har Gow got lost but eventually came. No soap in bathrooms, fixed right away when mentioned. Busy little place. Food : 3/5 |
Food was good, its all you can eat sushi, however we went for lunch and it was $60 to $70 dollars for two. WARNING: if you need wasabi or ginger, they expect you to ask for it as they dont bring it or have it out on the table upon arrival. The service could have been better as no one came to our table to ask us if we wanted refills or how everything was.
Had an early Mothers day lunch here today. Service was great, and food was delicious. Definitely will be visiting again.
The food here is delicious - large cuts of fish with soft, perfectly seasoned rice. I will definitely be coming back.
Says it open today Tuesday May 30, drove into orangeville and not open. Not open on Tuesday, not open update your webpage
We stopped in for dinner a couple of weeks ago on a Saturday night and were pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is comfortable and clean and the service was very prompt. We were well looked after. The manager/owner came to our table and asked if we had enjoyed. The sushi was quite good, my husband loved the tempura choices (many), and we will be back probably within a couple of weeks.
For the price its not worth it.
I love Sushi Kaika!!
Pieces were too big
Full of rice, barely u can find fish in.. Less than average
Great all you can eat Japanese buffet. Highly recommend eating here is you are looking for great Japanese food
Sushi was dry and we werent sure of what was exactly given to us
Stopped in for lunch for our first time. Everything was excellent. We loved every dish we tried, which was a lot! Cant wait to come back to try more. 10/10 !
Over priced , poor quality and not good service.
We dined in for the all you can eat sushi and it was fantastic. The salmon sushi was delicious and all the rolls were yummy. All the food was fresh and the service was quick. I will definitely return and recommend.
smorgasbord sign in front window says there are over 100 items on the menu well lunch menu had less than 50, no tempra, no soups, no egg rolls, no dumplings just a limited amount of sushi and shihimi. Was not impressed with the limited choices at the prices I was charged Wheelchair accessibility: double door at entrance just have to get up onto the sidewalk
Really fresh rice and great food, however the drink menu could use some work, and they need a more welcoming wait staff that speaks to the customers.
Food is pretty good. Large selection Only sushi in town now and the price going up is reflecting that. But overall still good. Updated New owners in 2023 As of December Lunch buffet $29.99 Dinner buffet $39.99 Weekends is a little more
Amazing Sushi Restaurant!!!! The First time I visited Orangeville and my friends recommended this restaurant. It s a very good place because the traffic is very convenient. The food was so fresh and well-prepared,it came so fast. The service was great, workers were extremely nice!! Definitely worth its price. I already want to go back Orangeville because of this fantastic sushi restaurant. I enjoyed the feast very much.
It s a great place! The prices are good for the quality of the food. No complaints here
Amazing food! And great customer service. The new owners go above and beyond to make the experience great. Always my go to sushi restaurant :)
Mmm... Avacado Maki...
Best place in town, but could still use a lot of improvement. Dynamite rolls had very poor quality shrimp. Some items are good though
Ive ordered delivery from this place a lot, and its always been alright. Not amazing but fine and the only sushi in town. However i just ordered for the first time in several months and it was terrible. Tempura batter was way too thick and floury. Orangeville roll was poorly rolled, the crab inside was colder than the outside of the roll. super disappointing and not sure if Ill order again.
Horrible service, out of 4 orders they messed up 3, calling for help they said sorry to bush to help you now with half my order missing, 2nd time charged me for items didn t order and refused to remove. Never again. Given multiple opportunities to make it right. New management is bad.
Always accommodating and so friendly. The food is delicious every time
This place is under new ownership. What a difference. I had lunch and dinner on 2 separate occasions. The food was wonderful. The fish was very fresh and the rice perfectly cooked. I would definitely recommend
Very disappointed that they have not reopened for dine in. We used to like going to this place. Sushi was good and its close. Since covid, they have become take out only.
One of my favorites, Ive been going here for years now. Always great service
Avocado sushi and sweet potato sushi was really yummy but it was falling apart. But fast service. Attitude needs to change though. Maybe put a cheerful person at the front. Instead of the grumpy man.
Do NOT recommend anymore - new owners and the quality, consistency have all gone down and price has gone up. The sushi has to much rice, quality of rice is terirble, tacky, and has been overcooked. Cuts of sashimi were not cut correctly and had fat and scales on it - extremely unsatisfying. Use to eat at this restaurant every few weeks, its a shame as we wont eat there anymore. Previously reveiew from 6 years ago, Love it, great food & prices.
What is going on with this place? Poorly rolled sushi and extremely salty! This is my 3rd delivery with the same issue. Did management change? This will be my last order. I d rather make the drive to caledon if I get a sushi craving again.
The sushi here is very tasty from my experiences! They are quick as well and reasonably priced
Our family of four dined in on a Sunday evening. The sushi was fresh, good selection of sashimi and they also had the soup filled dumplings on the menu! Atmosphere was clean and the owner took time to come around and say Hi and supported the wait staff when it got busy. Nice experience, would definitely go back.
EDIT in response: No my review is for your restaurant. I dont eat sushi so this is the only sushi place I have been to, with my fiancé who likes sushi. I was there a while ago and did not review at the time. Google prompted me to review, since it knew I had been there. Maybe you dont have the deluxe buffet for $27.99 anymore but there is a picture attached to another review that proves at one point you did have it. ......... Original: I was charged full price for a deluxe buffet ($27.99) for ordering one chicken dish which should have been $5.99. I tried to speak to the server about it and she pulled out multiple staff members to check the camera footage. They saw me eat the chicken which I picked from the menu; it said $5.99 but STILL claimed I had to pay the deluxe buffet fee. They would not explain why and just kept saying they saw me eat the chicken. At no time did I agree to the buffet and like I said, I picked the $5.99 item off the menu.
I have been to this restaurant several times since it opened and have been okay with their service. Tonight was awful. Only 2 of us in our party. Waited 1.5hrs for only a couple of the items we ordered. In that time received 2 of the 10 items we ordered and 1/2 cup of green tea. It was busy so we were being patient expecting our food to come out any minute. We finally waved our waitress down and asked if the rest of the food was coming. After checking with the kitchen we were told they apparently gave our food to other tables. We were told to reorder quickly as the chef was leaving. At this point it had been just about 2hrs since we arrived. After waiting so long for food we decided to just leave. At that point the waitress got really defensive. Instead of apologizing for their terrible service ( I mean while we sat there chatting numerous tables sent food back that they didn t order and asked for food they did) she proceeded to blame us for not asking where our food was sooner! This same waitress never once asked in the over 1.5hrs if we needed anything, never refilled our green tea (which we had to ask for 3 times to get in the first place) and never noticed in all that time we were sitting there with no food and empty drinks. Even after most of the ppl left. **Don t waste your money on this restaurant. There are so many great restaurants in Orangeville who deserve your business.
The new owner was very friendly, the service was fast, and the food was absolutely delicious!! Highly recommend this restaurant!
Enjoyed our lunch today, decor is very nice, there were plenty of food choices, everything was fresh and delicious and we had a charming and fun waitress.
Had a great time here, amazing staff and great environment. I would definitely recommend this place when going out!
Way better since new owners took over fast friendly service more menu items food was excellent and we got everything we ordered !! Little bit more expensive for all you can eat but well worth it excellent experience
Everyone was very friendly! Been going here for some time and it is the best sushi and asian cuisine Ive had. The new ipads are fun and easy to order off of. All food was amazing! Me and my girlfriend will be coming back.
Impressive menu selection and all dishes tasted fresh. Sesame dessert balls were very good. Friendly and courteous staff will definitely go back
Amazing service, very great presentation and delicious food. I will be coming back here from now on!
Amazing Sushi for fair prices. and even more amazing staff! over all 5 stars, definitely worth every penny
The restaurant has new ownership and I am happy it survived the pandemic. The new expanded menu is great. Much improved food quality and variety. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Will definitely go back many times.
Tasty Value for your money Service was very good.
Lots of fresh quality items to select from..yummy
Coming from the city to live in the dufferin area I was scared I wasnt going to find somewhere good to eat. I was wrong! Not only do they have amazing fresh sushi and really good fried rice and noodles theyre truly nice people. Im a regular here now and wouldnt go anywhere else. Always fresh food. Very clean establishment. Lovely people to deal with. Highly recommend!!!
AYCE sushi with good service and better flavours
Went for a Friday Lunch. All you can eat menu had many options and was easy to order (with tablet) and food was excellent. Fair price at around $26 per person considering we gorged ourselves. Ill go again!
First time here. I live in Orangeville, and honestly can say. Ill be coming back here again. Nice way to celebrate a nice birthday dinner for my self. Good people, delicious food. All you can eat buffet was well worth the price. Thanks again folks at Sushi Kaika. A+++
Absolutely delicious and the service made my evening
Under new management and finally has some great options. Spiders Rolls, Green Tea Ice Cream. Ill be back!
It was a great experience, the food was very fresh , the waiter was very friendly and down to earth
Portions are getting smaller and smaller every time I order now. They are even skimping on soup portions.
Absolutely beautiful dinner and huge improvement under the new ownership. The sushi and sashimi were fresh and the cuts of fish were of high quality. The variety on the menu is really great and the service is top notch. If you tried this place before the pandemic and weren t wowed, I highly recommend you give this place another chance with the new owners. We will be regulars here!
Great sushi, under new management.
Amazing experience! Loved the dim sum!
So utterly fantastic. The staff is so amazing and kind. Very sweet people that run this place, so happy it s under new management, they really transformed the place. Great experience and would recommend to anyone and everyone.
Excellent food and selection! Fair price for all you can eat as well as for the takeout menu. I order takeout often and just had dinner inside for the first time tonight and had a great experience!
Stopped in for lunch while in Orangeville. Lunch menu was pretty extensive. Missing the typical things you get on a dinner menu, such as sashimi, premium fish and the more complex rolls, for example. With that said, I believe you can upgrade to the dinner/deluxe menu if you would like. Sushi was fresh, and fish could be sliced a tiny bit thicker (but I get it and it was fine). Rolls were a bit messy and large in some instances, but good. Wok, tempura, kitchen dishes were all good. We liked that they had spider rolls (soft shell crab) on the lunch menu and that red tuna or unagi (eel) were also available on the lunch menu, although only in hand rolls. Service was good to. Not amazing, but totally ok when compared with other ayce sushi establishments. $26.99 per adult for the lunch buffet. If in Orangeville and have a craving for some ayce sushi, would recommend checking out.
Can be alittle confusing when you get the lad, but go for it, we did! Every dish was fantastic! Well worth the money.
I am a huge fan of their salmon sushi pizza and regularly order meals on Skip, but lately I ve also had two great dine-in experiences with the buffet menu. I took my mom for lunch and she loved it, and took my boyfriend who was visiting from the US for dinner. We loved the salmon belly, cream cheese wontons, tempura broccoli and eggplant , fried rice, sesame balls and red bean ice cream and of course the fresh sashimi and sushi !! Just delicious and a lovely place for take out, delivery, or dine in
Dont get me wrong its not bad for a small town in Southern Ontario but dont set your expectations too high. The staff are friendly and the service is good.
First time eating under new management. The food was amazing and the service was fast friendly! Highly recommend and will be back for sure!
Very good, nice and quick. Dim Sum were great. Thanks!
Tonights order was extra special than normal. Not only delicious but the kindness shown to me and my family was above and beyond. Thank you.
Food was fantastic! Ordered from menu and ate in. Price good compared to others.Lots of food. Definitely will come again.
The service is SLOW. The menu is VERY limited for lunch and the price outrageous. Their online lunch price says $17.99 but in restaurant they told me it was $27.99 per person. The smoked salmon roll was like biting into a salt packet. My son even had to go throw up. There arent many choices and Ill NEVER come back. Dont go here.
Believe the reviews it s bad. Worst ayce in all of Ontario. Bad quality food. It took 55 mins to get 2 rolls of sushi and they just forgot the other 4 rolls we ordered. At some point we just got fed up and left and the rest of the food we did get was the worst quality food ever. The sashimi was a very pale pink and was frozen before which is very dangerous I had to spit it out. Worst 90 dollars spent on dinner. Spend your money elsewhere or don t eat at all.
Great food and service.
Service was very quick, staff was friendly and the quality of the food was amazing. This place had exceeded my expectations
We ordered an assortment of vegetarian & non-veg options. Food was fresh, flavourful and well portioned.
Great good always tastes fresh
Excellent customer service and amazing food
Just had dinner and it was amazing. The food was so fresh the staff were right on top of everything. Highly recommended.
The food is truly awesome here! I was disappointed only in the fact that my faughter and I went there for a quick visit and a snack of some miso soup, salad and a bit of sushi. We were not told nor was there a sign that the buffet was in force so we paid over $100.00 for our snack and quick visit. They really need to have a sign or let people know when they come in that the buffet prices are in force!
Over priced. The rice was rock hard like it has been sitting out for a day or two. The fish wasnt any better tasted and felt old. Horrible.
Excellent food, all around. There was a short wait, but the quality was certainly worth it. Slightly on the pricey side for take-out, but thats sushi for you!
Decent quality and friendly service.
Too much rice and tempura bits used in each roll. Also a lot of their rolls used lettuce instead of cucumber which was very odd and unappetizing.
The good: The fried rice, it was quite great. Other than that, the food was average for the most part. The worse part was just the wait for food. I am guessing its either something in the kitchen, but certainly either orders were getting mixed up or something else.
Had a horrible experience tonight. I sat with my toddler for over an hour and only got 3 of the 10 items we ordered off their buffet menu. Asked for napkins and wasabi 4 times and never came. Asked multiple times when our food would come and was left sitting with nothing. Asked for manager 3 times and no came. I was only able to speak with him when I went up to.pay because at this point we were waiting for over an hour and still didnt get our order. He was going to charge me for just an adult buffet. And discount the toddler fee of 5.99...um no!. Said I would pay for the one spring roll one scallop and one roll we did receive. he only discounted my bill.better than nothing I suppose...but was a horrible experience!
Rice very under seasoned and doesnt even taste like sushi rice. The sushi has too much rice to fish ratio. At least the sashimi was cold and fresh
These people really know how to get you full off of nothing. It took them over an hour to bring out all the items from our first order (and we were only 2 people). We were scared to order more because we had no idea if the waiter was going to bring out the items or not, even after inquiring about them four times! The sashimi is paper thin, its actually embarrassing. As well, the rice to seafood ratio in their sushi is ridiculous- WAY too much rice! We even ordered drinks and they never brought them out. Its just a rush to get you seated and get you out, with minimum service and quality. We came here quite a bit (not sure why we always went back) but this just did it... they lost us as regular customers.
The food overall was good but the scallop roll I got was majorly disappointing. First their take out menu in store was not updated so the price was more than I expected. That was fine. I was craving sushi. The roll fell apart (partly my fault), by the time I got home, and the scallop itself was the tiny ones that was clearly seared due to the fact that they were most likely frozen. When I go to a sushi place, I expect a scallop roll to be fresh, raw scallop, especially since I paid $9 for it. So disappointed!
Good quality lots of different dishes all you can eat friendly staff
. The food is absolutely tasty. First time to try out here on a whim and we were not dissapointed at all. Delicious sushi! Well be coming back here again. Yum!!!!
Great food, decent prices
Wayyy better menu, food, and service since new owners have taken it over. We used to dislike it so much that we would drive into Brampton for all you can eat sushi but will no longer be doing that! Definitely give it another chance!
Brilliant.
Second time going and second time disappointed. Food quality is not worth the price, neither is the service. I gave it another go even though the experience was the same the first time... Its unfortunate since its the only sushi place in town
Great place for a family meal. This was our first visit to Sushi Kaika and we will definitely be back. The food was delicious and the service was very friendly and fast. Our kids absolutely love it here also and are already asking to come back. Great selection and fair pricing.
I am a master google reviewer and have read the other reviews about their service being bad but I believe they now have new staff and they are very friendly ladies! Even the gentleman at the front was super nice and I had an overall great experience the past few times I have been to Sushi Kaika. Food is great. A big thank you to the team.
Still my all time favourite sushi place
Tonight was the first time we have dined at Sushi Kaika. The food was excellent! The staff was friendly, courteous and attentive. Overall it was a great experience and I would highly recommend them to anyone that loves sushi. They are my new favourite restaurant!
We called to ensure they had vegan option, they were quick to say yes, they claimed to have a large selection of sushi that was vegan or could me made vegan. When we arrived and were seated it was a completely different story. We asked the server repeatedly what was vegan but she confused vegan with vegetarian. When we explained the difference she went to the chef and other staff but noone could give us a definate answer as to what was vegan or not. At this point we had only ordered a coke and water, since they were so unsure we decided to not take our chances and dine elsewhere. We were given our bill for 1 coke which we paid for without tip, and left. This location is quick to tell you what you want to hear on the phone in order to get you into their restaurant but they had very little knowledge of their own menu. Orangeville really needs a quality sushi restaurant, the only reason this place survives is because they have no competition. We were not offered an apology or anything for this waste of time, they were even sure to charge us the few dollars for a coke we barely even drank. If they had just said sorry for the mistake, the coke is on us and it wont happen again. I would have skipped writing this review. But here we are...
Amazing dinner!!! Everything was so fresh and crispy! Serves was amazing very welcoming and helpful when we had questions!! Really great place for family dinner! New owners are truly great!
Substandard Sushi, overpriced & bland. Go somewhere else if you don t want to waste your money. 95$ for 2 buffet.
This used to be my all time favorite place to eat and we used to dine here every weekend with our neighbors. We went for dinner in October with our neighbours and were so disappointed. The sashimi was skimpy and substandard, we were not served what we ordered, the chicken dishes were dry and tasted bad. This restaurant used to serve absolutely the best food. Dont understand what happen.
No sashimis and more avocados than someone might want... boooooo P.S. and I actually like avocados.
Put our food order in at 5pm. They said it would be ready for 7pm. Arrived as instructed at 7pm and didnt get food until 7:55pm. Would have been faster to drive to Inaka Sushi in Caledon and the food would have been better!
Please do not order from this place Terrible customer service We order from them all the time and when we placed our order tonight (February 20th, 2021) the price was way over what we usually pay. When asked to repeat the order and the lady kept saying what s so hard to understand. Do you want it or not we are very busy We were not going to pay extra money when we knew she had gotten our order wrong. We asked to speak to the manager and he kept saying the same thing the lady said. They were busy and if we wanted to order or not. They hung up on us three times. We received a text of a photo of our order and little did we find out they did charge us incorrectly. They charged us for wasabi roll when we said no wasabi! So we called them back to let them know they were wrong and since they were insisting their prices were right and wasn t willing to listen to their customers we told them we would take our business elsewhere. We decided to go with Inaka Japanese restaurant in Caledon.
For being the only sushi restaurant in Orangeville I would expect better from this place. It is probably one of the worst I have ever had. I won t be going there again for take out.
How do they not know what Eel sauce is? They charged me for BBQ sauce. WAS Disappointed!
Our favorite place in town!! Fresh seafood, lots of variety, and the owner, Michael, always goes above and beyond to make sure our food is fantastic.
great food, great service
Finally tried Sushi Kaika last week for my sons bday dinner (he requested sushi!) and we were all very impressed. The order process was simple, the service was great, the wait time was minimal, and the food was fresh and flavourful. Cant wait to go for all you can eat dine in once the pandemic is over!
Delicious every single time!
Ordered take out from there on New Years. Very disappointed with quality of food. Employees saw me standing at the door but did not approach until I rang the bell so their customer service was poor too.
No ........just no Do not go here
Fresh food, good quality, and easy ordering.
One star is generous. Employee asked for my phone number for a take out order. She could not find it. I quickly ran out to my car to get the order number. Came back she rudely asked me to move my phone as she could not see the order number. She then found my order and promptly threw it at me through the glass slot. Really poor service
Delicious sushi!! Edamame could use some salt but other than that this place is amazing!
Dropped by for Monday night takeout dinner, and I do have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by the freshness of the food and how delicious it all was. I dont know why the reviews are so negative, we ordered a few rolls, the food was prepared fresh, the rice tasted fresh and the shrimp tempura was just cooked. Try this place out for takeout, I would definitely recommend it.
This place has always provided great service and sushi. There may be better place but not within a 150km radius as far as I know for all-you-can-eat. Addressing the comments created by Ella Tomlinson, if you eat from any restaurant all you can eat and then refuse to pay at the end, this will occur time and time again. The police will come and force you to pay. If you mishear a server and your feelings are hurt then dont go back. More for their sake than yours and as I recall, it was your friend that shouted at the manager but accepted service until the end of your meal. Also, please have your parents edit your work before you post to make it seem more reliable.
Very disappointing. Customers should check your quantity before leaving the RESTAURANT so you can CORRECT them and not feel the loss/defeat upon reaching home Also, I suggest the restaurant DO NOT indicate expected quantity because they definitely shorted my package and now feel angry that I didnt received what I paid for. The owner of this restaurant should be grateful these trying times to have customers and the last thing they should do is to cheat them to maximize profit. It is wrong to give me less than what I paid for.
Best all you can eat sushi in town. They know how to keep me coming back for more. Rarely a line. And they do take out too!!! They are now part of Skip the Dishes.
I ve ordered from Sushi Kaika multiple times and have never been disappointed.
Weve been coming here for some time because its the only game in town. Reality is, this is the most overpriced and bland sushi ever. Ive seen the manager argue and bully customers, wait staff are rude, and they charge toddlers full adult price just for being at the table. They nickle and dime brutally for substitutions even when the substituted item is cheaper than the original item. Dont waste your money here - nothing good will come of it.
The motif in the restaurant is nice, the sushi is okay for Orangeville, it s pretty good. Happy to say we ve never been sick after eating sushi at this location. We mostly ordered take-out but a couple times we made reservations for all you can eat, dinner. Costed around $100 for two adults and a child which is a good price BUT our server kept watching us eat, made comment as to how much food we ordered to our table (which didn t make us feel comfortable in ordering more), very rude. Customers (who pay all-you-can-eat) should not be made uncomfortable so they order less. Come on...that s not nice. This is very bad for business and we have not been back since, not even for take-out.
Love the sushi
Dining room is still closed. Take out a-la-cart only. Very expensive. Other restaurants put up barriers and distance customers, this one does not. When asked when the dining room would open, answer is always in a couple of weeks. But it never happens. Definitely taking advantage of customers.
Went there today and ordered take out. Was made within timeframe they provided and was on a nice styrofoam plate nicely wrapped for safety! Provided me wasabi and ginger on the side and 2 containers of soy sauce (without me even asking! Which was awesome.) was super nice and friendly, would highly recommend. [especially for a place in Orangeville it was actually very nice and tasty.] delicious
Not sure what everyone is complaining about. This may be the only sushi place that the village of orange has to offer but it is quite good. Ive been going here for years and never had bad experiences. Staff has been pleasant and no issues with food.
Its very annoying that they are still delivering old menus with orders, the price have gone up quite a bit, so do not be fooled by the prices on their paper menu, you will get a surprise when you get your actual food total !! Drive to Anaka in Caledon instead!
Ive gone there lots for All You Can Eat and its good. With the restrictions, they have been closed for dine in and I wanted to support the business by ordering takeout thru Skip. I ordered a sushi roll platter Friday evening and it was borderline unbearable. The rice was old and hard, and the fish was not tasteful or enjoyable. I dont know why I didnt try to return it....should have. It all went to waste.
Went to this place a little over year ago, or so. This place was terrible in regards to being child friendly. No change table for our ten month old, and they had the audacity to charge her for eating. shes a baby, Ive never seen such a terrible anti family establishment. not to mention they didnt have a change table. sushi was subpar as well. if you have kids, dont bring them here. charging an infant. so infuriating
Best Sushi Ive had!!
