Best Chinese food in Orillia, possibly the best Ive tasted yet? The server was fantastic, always smiling, cracking jokes and trying his best to make our stay nice. The Lo Mien was delicious so was the honey garlic chicken wings were juicy and my General Tso Chicken were big and just the right amount of spice. The restaurant had your typical Chinese food but brought to the next level. The only downside is its not in my home town. Id go there again in a heartbeat

I ordered my meal that came to $158 a few days ago.. I got skip the dishes.. and when I opened up my meal there was a piece of metal in it and a piece of hair. I will never ever order from this company again as I almost ate the piece of metal that was in my bean sprouts. If I could give zero Stars I would. This was my second time trying to order from them trying to give them the benefit of the doubt cuz their food was repulsive the first time. I should have known

Low Quality Food at a Top Dollar Price , Slow Delivery 1.5hrs on average, Ignorant Management/Staff so dont bother complaining that your Foods taking long to be Delivered or Taste Gross unless you want a Rude Response.

Worst meal I have ever had!! The chicken breast slice was so thin when it was cooked it came out like shoe leather, couldnt even eat it, had to throw it out. Wouldnt feed it to my dog. The sweet and sour sauce was like jello and tasted like tin. Pretty sure it came out of a can. This place must be under new management and the food was terrible. Manager wouldnt call me back. Dont waste your money here. Disgusting. Never eating here again.

Ordered online, took an hour and a half to receive our food. I didnt get to eat at all because I had to leave for work

My parents and I ordered food to go and when I opened it I was very disappointed the chicken balls where very doughy and the rice was plain the only thing I enjoyed was the egg roll

The food here is great but they have recently increased their pricing and decreased the portion sizes at the same time. I wont be back to Golden Wok or any establishment that is partaking in Shrinkflation

Three of us went in to enjoy their Niku Sushi menu. We did include a General Tao chicken dish with our sushi. All items extremely tasty and worthy of a repeat performance.

My parents found this place somehow (they live in barrie) they asked if I wanted to go for lunch and I said sure. We drove all the way to orillia... but, it was really good. I had a lunch special, chop suey, and it was acceptable. Mom and dad had wonton soups, spring rolls and an order of beef and black bean sauce. It was all good. If wasnt sketchy Pacific Mall food court beef with bitter melon good, but for what it was I had no complaints. They had coke zero too, which is a plus for me. Also, it is one of the last sit down chinese places I can think of. Most of the ones in barrie are take out only now. Parking: Parking is in the back, so I had to drop parents at the door, no biggie.

Atmosphere because they are under construction to up grade to a Japanese BBQ . Dec 2023 new japanese BBQ to open jan2024 . Cant to try it.

We had lunch here on Christmas day, honestly just because it was one of the only places open, but we had such a lovely meal and great experience. Definitely recommend the food and the friendly service.

We usually like the food from the Golden Wok however this last order the beef in the beef & vegetables was turning and tasted off and not fresh at all. The chicken balls were off as well and did not taste good. It was very disappointing. We are rethinking ordering from here again.

Excellent. The only complaint was the arcade machine music right behind our table. It was loud and became quite annoying. I suggest not sitting at the table close to it.

The honey garlic ribs were not fresh and way overcooked, and definitely overpriced at $16 Why are there two tacky loud claw machines? And why is the surcharge of $2 to $3 per dish from take-out to dine-in??

Just had a 1st go at Golden Wok. Absolutely tasteless from other locations. Very disappointing. We spent 70$ with delivery tip and we could not finish the food.

I must say not a very good experience. Im an older lady 60. I pointed to what I wanted on the menu. He brought me something totally different and started yelling at me. Then I wanted to take my meal to go and wants to charge me. 30 cents for a plastic fork for each and I was told to substitute. It was $3 for a substitute. Then when what I ordered he tells me now $5. The place is ridiculous the man is miserable and goes in the kitchen and yells at his wife. Like its her fault like it was her fault. He is the one that took the order I would never return here again. I felt so humiliated to be yelled at by this man for something. He made a mistake list those are very slimy its almost like theyre rotten

This place is not a buffet anymore even tho their sign states BUFFET.

Ordered a dinner for six takeout. Food was good and there was plenty of it. Two containers of rice so indulge. Order was complete with no mistakes.

I bought my parents 200 dollars in 50 dollar gift certificates for my dads birthday. Its their favorite restaurant. When I went in to buy them, they were so kind, as usual, I waited at the bar they offered me a coke while I waited for someone to help me. I love going there, its always such a great experience. Just terrible the chicken was slimy the vegetables over cooked the rib so dry it was hard to tell if they were meat or bone egg rolls were half empty the rice was over cooked I will never order here again

We ordered wonton soup. No flavour and pork was tough , lots of wontons. Then we had moo guy pan. Mostly mushrooms and soft mushy chicken, there were 3 snap pea pods and 3 pieces of carrots. The beef chop suey was soft and tasted bad , There was mostly bean sprouts and a couple of thin pieces of celery. Before Covid I would always recommend eating there. This was our first time back and I was really looking forward to the meal . They are under construction on one side so it was sounds of machinery. We have eaten in china town in Toronto and Vancouver and Chinese restaurants across Canada and this food was terrible for the price of $57

The food is not good they did follow the instructions, after complaining don t give refund also they say our food is good in reality you can t even take a bite, they are using leftover things which you can t spell while eating I found out also manager is taking unnecessary money from the people. They take money on the basic things which as food so they are responsible for providing a healthy and good quality you can risk your life. I will say never go to this place in your life. Soon this restaurant will close due to the way they are doing business.

To start, its not all you can eat. Its currently in the works even though the sign advertises it. The workers are pushy or rude. Trying to ask questions and they beat around the bush trying to just get you to order something. It was supposedly renovated, but its not. Still the same old place, just more expensive, more crammed, and not all you can eat.

They are under construction as they have been for quite some time. Nothing japanese grill about them. No takoyaki, no shabu shabu, no okonomyaki nithing grill or ayce. Even their gyoza is frozen deep fried vegetarian. Couldnt quite make out what was in it. They give u it with no sauce but the soy sauce for ur sushi. Got my order wrong and cause I didnt want to wait any longer, I took the item and they charged me for it. Servers dont know their menu. Wouldnt recommend.

Was great until delivery driver stole a $60 tip order was $115 added $10 tip cash didn t nice he only gave $30 back exaggerating but still got robbed took advantage of my gf.

We have picked up $200+ dinners here for YEARS! This is the FIRST TIME we ate..and everything...EVERYTHING was burnt and chewy. We threw it out ALL OUT. No eating. Noodles was the ONLY THING we could eat (but threw out the extra shrimp, etc.) The beef, the chicken, the shrimp, rice, etc. We couldnt even EAT IT. Everything was SO DRY! It was TERRIBLE and disappointing. We will not go there ever again, anymore. Nothings worse than going to YOUR FAVOURITE....and then being TERRIBLY disappointed in one meal. WHATEVER HAPPENED: re microwaving meals is NEVER the answer: especially with a regular $200 bill.

We have enjoyed your restaurant even before we moved to the area just over 2 years ago. However, I was shocked to pickup my order today and be subjected to what amounts to at least a 20% price increase. As seniors on a fixed income, your meals are now out of reach for us despite taking advantage of your cash discount.

Love my experience here definitely worth the drive the food was amazing and the service was very nice. The robot cat was something I never seen. Love the experience!

Unfortunately the restaurant has not returned to buffet style and is pick up or menu orders only. There is a plus side though, they have added a robot to their staff, her name is Goldie and it is worth your while to stop in for a bite just to see her in action. They have all your favorites still so dont forget to stop in and try out the menu, you wont regret it. Yum!!

Disappointed. They no longer have the buffet. The food wasnt what we remember and enjoyed. Two tables were left with dirty dishes on them from previous customers who were gone before us and still remained when we left. We were the only customers in the restaurant. The manager said they no longer had buffet due to no staff. And yet she sat at the bar and never thought we wouldnt take notice of the dirty tables. However they do have one good thing...a robot named Dixie to deliver your food. Sadly we wont go back. I hope they clean up their act. This used to be a lovely place with wonderful long term servers who actually paid attention to the little details like cleanliness and food quality. Do better

Best Cantonese Chow Mein I ve ever tasted. The food: all hot & tasty. The place: has a certain charm to it, but there should be more tables and a smaller bar. I ve never seen a bar so big at a buffet restaurant (buffet was closed when we went). I would ve given it 4.5 stars for great service & food!

Some of the best Chinese food I ve ever had. Nothing was over salted, sweet, breaded etc. I highly recommend coming here to eat.

I just met with my 82 year old friend in Orillia today. He and his wife dined at your establishment frequently for as long as you have been in business until Covid 19 interrupted that routine. He lost his wife in March. On Sunday, July 31 he went to the Golden Walk when he learned you were again serving dine-in. However, the woman with who he was quite familiar from countless visits to your restaurant told him that because he was alone, he would need to order take out. Dine -in was not available to him unless he was with someone. She said they could not take up a table for one customer. He replied she should take a very good look at him because she would not see him in the Golden Wok again. He assured her he would share that experience with his many friends and acquaintances. For anyone who has ever dined alone, you know the sometimes awkward feeling of being the odd man out. To be served such a dish of indignity is unforgiveable. I will never again dine at the Golden Wok and I will discourage anyone else from doing so.

Is a bit pricey for what you get and food was not the best. Had late supper and from 2 am on my husband spent most of his time in bathroom.

The service was great my young son really enjoyed the Cat Robot that drops off the food. Food was grest a very quick too.

10/10 service, Bobby was super friendly and personable, really made us have a great time. Goldie was very quick and friendly hahaha! Good 10/10 lots of flavour didn t get soggy food which is all too common in Chinese food and thank the lord this place doesn t water down their red sauce. Would 100% come back and bring all my friends.

I came to this Chinese Buffet with a tour group. Maybe the tour group s prices are not high, so there are no expensive ingredients. However, the vegetables and tofu provided are cooked well and the staff s service attitude is good. Everyone feels comfortable eating.

Good food ,but they charged me a delivery charge of 23 dollars, stating its gas money lol thats to come to brechin, I could not pick up due to ,I could not leave due to mom being ill and I was taking care of her ,and cooking was just not a opinion today . ,I can see 10 dollars being the delivery but 23 for a 20 minute drive ,it does not take 20 dollars in gas to get to front street Orillia from my house in brechin.

I was really impressed with this place , the food was really good and the staff was so friendly. I felt like they went out of their way to make us happy. The Chinese beer that was recommended was really good and I would look for it again elsewhere. We had the dinner for two which honestly could have fed 4 people easily . The outside patio was really cozy and I think it would even work well for an evening date night it has lit up trees and good rain protection, prices are very reasonable I will be here again for sure

Visiting Orillia and ordered take out from Golden Wok. We thoroughly enjoyed the food. Vegetables were so fresh and cooked just right. Every dish had so much flavour. Big portions. Highly recommended!

People are splendid! Staff are very polite, friendly and courteous. The situation with covid has made it so you dont get up and scour the food options yourself. Instead, you check off or circle food options from a laminated menu and the staff bring the food to you. This unfortunately puts you at the mercy of the staffs portioning choices and certain items that you likely wouldnt have chosen to stack atop eachother may be mixed upon arrival. Theyre making due with the unfortunate circumstances, however, so props to them. The food itself... Very American. Little to no authenticity in the cuisine, which is likely exactly how the local populace likes it. 70% of the menu is deep-fried and sauced after the fact and non of your familiar delicious favourites will be particularly recognizable. All that being said, it was fine. Know what youre getting into, and settle in for some 6/10 American Chinese food with absolutely great service!

I have dealt with this restaurant for over 20 years. A couple of months ago we received overcooked, greasy, horrible take out order. I called to advise and was blown off as I was being picky. Last couple of orders were usual good. Just got another- spring rolls greasy, egg roll greasy, chicken wings so greasy we threw them and the rolls in the trash. I am Done with this greasy garbage being issued to me - terrible food!

Love this place! Food is always hot and fresh. Restaurant is a little on the small side (lets just say cozy) but I think its just perfect. Dont forget to get their loyalty care when ordering takeout. Collect enough stamps and you can get a free buffet dinner. Always plenty of parking available.

Unfortunately had a really disappointing buffet birthday dinner here with a few friends. Most food was cold and clearly been sitting out for hours, fruit flies everywhere and our server was so rude and awkward. Felt sick after. Sad we wasted our time & money here - horrible - we wont return.

We went there for a late lunch and food was made fresh and always refilled. One of my nephews is allergic to sesame seeds and could not eat the sushi in the buffet. They surprised us and made him a full plate of fresh sushi without sesame. To top it off, they are the only asian restaurant that ever gave treats to the kids after the meal and future coupons. Each child at our table got welches gummies as well as free tokens to try to win a prize at one of their games located at the entrance. We will definitely be back because customer service was top notch and food was good. Every adult and child went home happy.

Food was tasty but greasy

I have ordered a lot of food from this place over the years and its usually been very good but the last 2 times Ive ordered takeout, the lemon chicken and general tao chicken were not good.... both were cold, soggy and stringy.... it was not freshly made, the rice wasnt either.... and they also forgot the sweet and sour sauce I ordered....and no chili sauce, which always comes with it.

We usually go to the buffet. We travel from Midland. Because of the virus we orderd take out. It was fabulous. Thankyou for being open and thankyou to all of the staff. We really enjoyed our drive and dinner tonight.

Hot, fresh and delicious delivery. So glad we decided to try here! We loved the rice noodles with curry, mixed pork and veg, and mushroom fried rice.

Everything about this place smacks of dedication and tenacity, given our current restrictions. Clean, friendly and patient...Now to the food. I havent had Chinese food this good in a long, long time. I was looking forward to dining in but, understandably, its take-away only. The packaging was top-notch and when I got home and opened it....the steam was still very much there! For 10 bucks, I ate well! You NEED to try this place if you havent already! Good for you Golden Wok!!

staff seem bothered to help, feel like Im not appreciated as a customer. ordered a rum and coke with the buffet and there was so much ice in the tumbler that I couldnt even sip any of the liquid out when informed they took it away and brought back a glass of water and still tried to charge me for the alcohol.when I called them out on it got called a liar because they were soooooo busy they forgot to pour out the tumbler and it proved i hadnt drank any (my table also wasnt bussed so all my dishes were still piled up where I left them). would not recommend if you want to be treated like a human. food is decent though.

Every Canada Day, I go there for the half price all you can eat buffet, and it makes me happy every time. The past 3 Canada Days, Ive enjoyed so much of the great food they have over at the buffet, but this years was the best of all. The lobster balls, and the tempura shrimp was definitely my favourite things to get there, and the wonton soup was absolutely divine. But when I try the pudding, oh lemme tell you, that just gives you such a fruity mango experience. Unfortunately, it might be my last time, due to moving out of Orillia possibly in the Spring, but Im leaving this 5 star review to show how much I love the Golden Wok, and Ill miss going there.

Me and my grandfather went and sat down to eat. For the two of us it cost 37 $ for the beffet witch is a decent price and we would go again the food was great the water was not the greatest water Ive had taste like the lake. But water is water. And dont play the santa machine it is rigged but its free. The staff are amazing. also the claw for the Santa mechine they might have acendently butterd of the claw but we forgive them we didnt win the Santa and me and my grandpa were disappointed we were devastated and my grandfather was almost offended by the thing. But we got over it quick kinda like a Breck up. No santa for us over all ok Merry Christmas and a Happy New year and just buy your own damn santa.
