A must try location for the best Chinese food in Orillia. I visited in the afternoon with my family and spent a couple hours dining, absolute amazing service, experienced and friendly staff and the star of the show - the food. Must try. Food : 5/5

Ordered Wonton soup. What a joke! Its overpriced for such a little container. No, absolutely no taste. We had to add onion soup mix to get taste. One piece of pork. $5.50 for 1.5 cups? Including the wontons? Terrible. Will not return nor recommend. Normally order from Golden Wok, but we were hungry and couldnt wait. Should have waited for an obviously better product.

It s all takeout, so the rest of the restaurant sits empty and seems a little run down and kind of cluttered. It s fairly tasty though.

Went to Royal Oak Chinese food for 1st time an our last time chicken was dry an tasted like it had been made hours ago shrimp the same large portions but very poor quality could taste a heavy flavour of oil.

The food is always great and I have never had any issues! I love that I can call ahead and pick up after work! I have used this place for the last few years for their delivery drivers are always so kind. The front desk staff! Dont get me started they are amazing very welcoming and genuine people even when there super busy they are still very kind and welcoming. This is the go to spot for pick up Best place in Orillia hands down for food!

Food is bland and boring. Zero spice in the extra spicy curry. Singapore noodles tasteless. Cheap (ish) and big portions so theres that.

Ordered recently. Food was OK but not what I would call the best. Portions were not overly generous for the cost. Lemon Chicken did not come with lemon sauce. (???) My test is how well a restaurant does Hot & Sour Soup: a big disappointment. Delivery not available for our area so we picked up. Was not terrible but nor was it great.

The lady on the phone was really nice, but unfortunately the chef needs some practice. I ordered chop suey and chow mein, which was $30. The variety of vegetables was nice, but very little seasoning and the vegetables were under cooked. Some more time in the wok would do wonders

Ordered food the other day for delivery, and the lady on the phone was very friendly and helpful, as it was my first time ordering. The food was delivered fairly quickly and it was delicious. It was my first time ordering here and I will definitely come back again! I highly recommend the general Tao chicken and Cantonese chow mein! Dietary restrictions: They are very accommodating on your requests!

This IS the place to go if you are near Orillia, Ont, weve taken out several times and not once have we been disappointed. They used to have seating but Covid has put the kabosh to that so far.

Food was not fresh...it wasnt very good..the breaded shrimp was so small it was hard to tell what your were eating and the chow mein was soft and hardly eat able..

The dining room is closed. The food seemed fresh. However, it lacked flavor.

Came here for pick up Sat night. Service was above and beyond. The lady at the front counter helped me as my husband was in hospital. She made sure everything was ready fast and convenient to eat. Food was delicious and made my husband smile even though he was in so much pain.

Very rude staff and no inside dinning

Tried this take out only place cause my regular was closed for Thanksgiving. Stars are because the were open, not for the food. Lemon chicken was way over cooked dry and chewy, and the lemon sauce had very little lemon flavour. Veg fried rice had only one pea, a few bean sprouts and couple of mushroom pieces. Where s the veg? Overall not great. I would recommended any of the others in town first, if available.

We Celebrated Chinese New Year and ordered catering through the Royal Oak. They went above and beyond to help us make it special! The food was absolutely wonderful, they were incredibly friendly, and they made sure we had everything we were looking for! We will definitely be ordering from them again and would strongly recommend them to anyone else.

We ordered from here for the first time tonight and it was absolutely amazing, hands down some of the best Chinese food we have ever had, a little pricy but it was worth it.

Will not go back to Royal Oak again. My entire family got food poisoning from eating Chicken Almond Soo Guy. 5 family members including myself were sick for 7 days. No call back from manager, ended up calling Health Unit and reported. All the signs of food poisoning.

Food was so bad. Bought two egg rolls. All that was in them was a few grey brown bean sprouts that I could not even chew.

We initially chose this restaurant because of the great reviews. And heres ours. Weve only ever done takeout, but its always tasted great & stayed hot the whole drive home. We live 25 mins away, there are other Chinese restaurants closer to where we live, but we choose here for a reason. The ladies who work front of house have always been so pleasant with me & I can tell they always appreciate me choosing them for our dinner plans.

Just ordered take away. Once again they shorted us on our order. Ordered online, should be zero confusion. Print out of order states it all. Maybe a game they play, hoping you dont notice or perhaps you are willing to overlook. Food costs are high. Restaurants should recognize that people are trying to support them. Please get it right. Appoint an expediter to verify order as its packed up for pickup/ delivery.

Placed a order with the lady at the counter I asked for the sauce on the side she assured me the sauce would be on the side when I got home there was sauce all over it when I called back she was rude did nothing but argued with me will never eat there again the worst customer service

Just spent $50 on lunch. Ordered chow mein and got lo mein. And one of the containers wasnt properly sealed and leaked all over my car! Never eating here again.

Hubby ordered food for kids and us for dinner and it was lacking for sure. Thought wed switch up our Chinese and order here for a change. Bad idea as everything tasted like grease (the breading on the chicken), and the sauce for the lemon chicken came on the side and was lemon juice basically. The sauce was so watery and the mixed veggies that we ordered was half onion, soggy Chinese cabbage, green pepper had black spots on them. The BBQ pork fried rice was good and the Cantonese noodles, too much money for dinner to be worth only 2 .

Best Chinese food in Orillia!!

The staff are generally friendly, but rather inconsistent. We ordered take out from Royal Oak quite often. The last few times the food quality has been very inconsistent, but last night lost our patronage!!! I normally order extra gravy with shrimp foo Yong, I ask for gravy on, and a side of gravy, and the result is all over the map. Last night instead of trying to get them to understand, I just said very clearly I WANT A LARGE GRAVY ON THE SIDE. I received very little extra gravy on top. Ive ordered extra shrimp several times, Im always asked how many? I say 6 EXTRA shrimp, (on my shrimp foo yong). Last time I ordered it with 6 extra shrimp, there were 8 shrimp total (I counted because the previous times I ordered 6 extra shrimp, it didnt seem like there were very many shrimp for being ordered with 6 extra shrimp. Who normally puts 2 shrimp in shrimp foo Yong? Last night I decided to have fun food, I ordered spring rolls, breaded lemon shrimp, chicken wings, and the Shrimp foo Yong, and lots of extra plum sauce. I said, I dont mind paying extra if I need too. The spring rolls were good (as usual) but I had no (extra gravy) to dip them in. They seem to average 3 packs of plumb sauce with an order like this, Last night there were 4, my willingness to pay for extra plumb sauce, got me one extra plumb sauce. First I ate the breaded lemon shrimp which were almost cold, tough/chewy, and not fun food to eat, and thats where I ran out of plumb sauce! Next I had the chicken wings, yukkkk. Horrible, dried out, way overcooked, stringy, almost unbeatable, tough, and not fun food to eat at all. Finally I had the shrimp foo Yong. Not enough gravy (for my taste), and I think I saw 3 shrimp, I didnt really count because Ive decided to fire them as my go to restaurant for take out. Last night was the straw that broke the proverbial camels back. Royal Oak, enough is enough, YOURE FIRED, WELL NEVER EAT OR ORDER FROM YOU AGAIN!!!

Customer Beware. We found a black fly in our food. Not only were we not refunded the cost of our dinner , there was no apology and they implied it was our fault! Very unprofessional and unsanitary A call to public health dept is next . Also learned this was NOT their first time having problems with flys !

Love their almond chicken chock full of fresh veggies with a crunch. Just very disappointed that they ve replaced their takeout aluminum dishes with single use plastic! Just when the federal government has banned them. Now how do they enforce this excellent initiative?? Wish Royal Oak would rtn to their more environmentally friendly dishes voluntarily.

Try the fried crunchy noodles with your next meal - they are good on their own or dipped in sweet and sour sauce. Best General Tao, cantonese noodles - everything here is amazing!

Had egg rolls be for for many years. Now they dont put hardy any bean sprouts in egg rolls any more.Eggroll use to be fat and tight now it has shrunk up to a skinny egg roll Not going to buy there egg rollS any more. if they bring the egg rolls back on how they use to make them. Been my familys go to for Chinese take out for years now. Tried other places in town but have always come back to here. Overall food has always been good with good portions. Staff has always been friendly and great to talk with during pick up.

Always the best! We travel an hour one way to come dine here and its always been worth it. We get the chinese chicken noodle soup, egg rolls and combo plates. Its always been consistent, tasty and never overly greasy. I find some chinese restraunts can be great one day then aweful the next but not this place. Staff has always been friendly, fast and accommodating to any of our needs and wants. They also delivered to us while I was visiting family in Rama. And it was there fast and still hot. All around 5 stars. My family brought me here when I was a kid and now I get to bring my kids. The staff love to see how much they have grown since the last time we were in.

Food is always excellent....if picking up, order well ahead of time as they get very busy and youll be waiting if you dont.

I ordered from there a few times on the phone for delivery, and I must say, the service they give is so friendly. Plus, they came by quick last time I ordered there. The best thing I say on their menu is their Cantonese chow mein. It was like heaven, the moment the noodles, the 3 meats, and the vegetables combine together. The beef and broccoli is another good classic. You can never go wrong with beef and broccoli. One thing I didnt expect when I ordered orange chicken from there is the pineapple, which gave it extra flavour, and juiciness. Kudos to you, Royal Oak. Even their egg drop soup is worth enjoying too, alongside my moms favourite; the Sweet n Sour chicken balls. I hope to try your Royal Oak special fried rice at the end of the month. Definitely ordering again.

Amazing Chinese food in the area! Their black bean sauce with chicken is phenomenal, and quality & quantity of ingredients are very fresh and filling. 10/10 recommend!

We were told a half an hour wait for our food only to have actually waited an 1 hr 15 minutes. This was after we had already paid and gave a generous tip. We have been coming here for over a year and have yet to have an order without a problem. Will not be going back after this!

Just love their food!!! I have never been disappointed with their food OR their service. During the summer they did mix up one of my dishes but it turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Ive been ordering the mushroom rice ever since! Their also have a convenient online ordering system that is very user friendly. Their staff is always great to deal with and really work hard to get your order to you as quickly as possible. Id go as far as to call this place Orillias #1 Chinese restaurant.

Ordered on December 21st 2020 at 630pm dinner for 3 best Chinese food I have had in years ..years, everything was very fresh you could tell kudos to the cook amazing job will be my go to spot from now on !! Highly recommend

Went for a big family event. (25 people) they were able to accomodate us all, the server was friendly, organized and engaging. The food was great, not one of us had a complaint. The price point and portion size were perfect. Will go there again for sure!

Dinner was awful. Neither of us ate it, nor were we asked why. Two Chinese dinners was slop on a plate.

Restaurant is big. Service is nice. But I honestly didnt like the food. I ordered Vegetable fried rice, Vegetable Shrimp and Curry shrimp. I didnt find flavor of the food as Chinese at all. May be other dishes are good. I just dont know.
