The Grape & Olive Bistro is open daily for breakfast, serving delicious morning favorites to start your day right!
We absolute LOVE the Grape and Olive staff, quality of food and service. Top shelf. Total pros.
This was the best food I have had in a long time. I recommend this place. The atmosphere was perfect, the music was low enough that you could talk to one another with out yelling. We started with calamari that was cooked so we beautifully that I had to check and see if it was really calamari. My husband ordered the pan seared white fish and he had eaten his food before mine had even cooled down. I had the shrimp cabonara that was so mouth watering good. I wish I had room for dessert because I think it would have been amazing too. The prices are a bit high but oh so worth it.
Ryan our bartender/waiter was very personable and knowledgeable. We were new to the area and he recommended places to visit in Orillia and Niagara Falls, took his suggestions and he was right on! Know let’s talk about the food, excellent, from the pork rolls to the chicken scaloppine, and my risotto. They also had homemade pasta on the menu and I heard a customer give great reviews. My husband raved about his chicken dish. A lovely and delicious meal!! Thanks to the chef for a meal we will remember.
No change table in the men's washroom for one. Forced to change a diaper on the sink vanity. Food was not cooked well. Calamari was super salty and had a few portions with uncooked batter... tasted soft and mushy and had to spit it out into a napkin. Whitefish w risotto was mushy and unpalatable. Chicken Parm was burnt. Felt gross the rest of the evening after our meal. Many other great choices in town... won't be back. Service was decent.
I love going to The Grape and Olive, I enjoy the food, the atmosphere and the service, one of the better restaurants in Orillia
Everything is wonderful. Love the food and atmosphere.
Small menu makes quantity dishes. Terry is am amazing server.
Amazing delicious fresh quality food 👍👍something for everyone i had seafood my husband steak. We went as a group and everyone thoroughly enjoyed all there was to offer .drinks were spot on and service was A1 .we will definitely go back..thankyou for the great experience.
Great Service Friendly Staff
My coffee had some sour milk ( I hope that is what it was) at the bottom of the cup. It looked like snot, the meal was delicious
Order the butter chicken and it was completely inedible. The rice was complete mush and watery. So disgusting. Very disappointed!
We had a great dinner prior to attending a show at Casino Rama. The menu at Grape & Olive has so many options that I couldnt decide. I had narrowed it down from 5 to 3 choices. Our server, Mary Lou, was absolutely lovely, funny and especially helpful with her stories and recommendations. We shared a Caesar salad and French onion soup to start, then a prime rib dinner and chicken Cordon Bleu for our mains, and we shared a slice of pumpkin cheesecake for dessert. Theres something on the menu for everyone to suit your cravings. This is my new favourite in Orillia! I just wish I lived closer so I could dine there more often, but well be back for sure.
Great vegan options and a very good service. Would love to come back when we re back in town!
Great experience for a taste of maple. Atmosphere was great, server was attentive and food was amazing. Looking forward to going back!
The service was good and the server was friendly. The food was OK, but the homemade sauce was underwhelming and tasted very much like canned tomato sauce. The pasta was homemade, but seemed to be somewhat stuck together in a clump and was overdone. The food was acceptable, but mediocre. Definitely not worth the price that they are charging. Vegetarian options: There were a very few vegetarian options on the menu.
Fantastic dinner and Fantastic service. Definitely will be back and Definitely would recommend. Thanks for the great night
Great spot
I took my family here for Easter Brunch after having such wonderful experiences here in the past (albeit probably 5 or so years ago). Brunch was $45pp which I thought was pricey but the restaurant s ambiance was nice and I remembered the food being amazing. Not so this time. There were 10 of us and when we arrived I was disappointed to be seated, not in the restaurant, but in one of the hotel conference rooms. It felt like a rotary club meeting. The massive tables had centrepieces from the dollar store. That aside, I was hopeful for the food. We had 1pm reservations and the food was TERRIBLE. The Eggs Benedict were hard as rocks and the hollandaise dried up. They had been sitting so long that the English muffins were literally crusted to the chafing dish. I asked for fresh ones and was brought another full chafing dish of eggs in the same condition. They had to have been under the warming lamp for hours. The Mac and cheese and rotini fell to the same fate of being way overdone. Both pasta dishes were mush - yet another victim of hours under heat lamps. The bacon was hard and dried out. The desserts, from a box. The only saving grace was our server David who was a doll. We never said anything while we were there as my family and I were all together to enjoy ourselves. I tried to email them first but their website is under construction and I never leave bad reviews but our bill was over $600 with tip and I was embarrassed for suggesting this place to my family. None of us will be coming back to The Grape and Olive again. I d leave no stars if I could.
Clearly not a regular reviewer, but I was informed this place had very good food. New ish chef, and I want the word to get out. I had a small Caesar salad, fresh, tasty, but not heavy. The chicken cordon bleu was fabulous. Grilled vegetables were hot, crisp and well-seasoned. Chicken was nicely browned, and juicy inside. Terri, was friendly and very attentive. Great experience.
Food was not that good dessert was not good
Had the turkey Dinner and the turkey was dry, the cranberry sauce was awful. My daughter ordered the fish and chips which was a greasy mess and looked like the fryer oil hasnt been changed recently. She sent it back and ordered a cinnamon roll and it was hard as a rock. We literally had to hit up the McDonalds on the way home so she could have something to eat. On the plus side the atmosphere is nice and the server was very pleasant. The Ceasars salad was good and the beer was cold.
For $16 per person you cant go wrong here! Pancakes, Omlettes, and French Toast available upon request and the aroma is intoxicating. Best place in town for breakfast!
We had our work Christmas party at the Grape and Olive, everyone was incredibly happy with the whole experience. The service was fantastic only to be topped by the quality of all our meals. Me and my family will definitely be back.
We ordered the beef dip and French onion soup. Both were prepared very untraditionally and not as expected. The French onion soup was quite thick and gravy like as opposed to a beef broth base. The beef dip actually came with a thick Swiss chalet style gravy as opposed to an au jus. It was just not great. I would have loved to try the homemade pasta but in my opinion $35 is overpriced for pasta.
Our usual breakfast place was lined up out the door, so we decided to try the Grape and Olive. The food was good, especially the eggs and omelettes that the chef made in front of us. We will definitely be back
Our family of 4 went for my moms birthday dinner. The food was excellent, and Terri was absolutely amazing. She was so personable, and pleasant. After she heard me mention my moms birthday, she went above and beyond and brought some beautiful crème brûlées and made this special moment even more special. Thank you for a great night!
Looks like we found a hidden gem a real nice italian restaurant. We are definitely coming back !!
Katherine was excellent Great service
Good place to have a great meal in orillia.
We had an amazing breakfast today. Food was perfect and the place is gorgeous. Beautifully decorated. Sadly our server was terrible. Ignored us for the most part and when she DID grace us with her presence, she was rude. We would definitely eat there again, but would avoid her like the plague. We felt bad for the other server who hopefully wasnt sharing tips with her.
An absolutely amazing meal and atmosphere!! The food was all cooked to perfection and so tasty!! We will definitely be back soon!
The food is absolutely amazing. The waitresses on the dining side are absolutely fantastic. Customer service is great. Their head chef has been great to deal with and talk to. Cant wait to come back !
Great food good prices and very helpful and friendly staff.
Nice space with good service
We had the prime rib dinner which was excellent. The creme brulee was a real treat for dessert.
I highly recommend a visit to this restaurant. Definitely 5 stars! Everything was so delicious!
Gluten friendly and amazing staff. Always feel so comfortable and the food is amazing. Love travelling for work just because I can go to this restaurant and talk with the incredible staff. Try the grape and olive salad. Its so amazing.
Awesome food and great service! Our server Jess was very friendly and the new chef, Paul cooked amazing dishes that left us looking forward to our next visit. Great food and great ambiance:)
Excellent service, food is delicious and the humor is free!!
Good-size portions good menu. Good service. Noise level is low enough to allow decent conversation.
Great food, excellent service, nice atmosphere.
Good menu...well prepared food
First off wear pants and a jacket. They have the ac set and they arent allowed to change it. Such a draft under the table it was freezing. Food was okay. Escargot, red pepper soup, bread and mac and cheese bites were good. Mushshroom and brie flatbread was good except its soft not an actual flatbread. Had the special menu the fish was bland and not cooked well. Covered in sauce but no flavour even though said lemon caper it was like a bernaise. Flank Steak was small and meaty tasting and the sauce masked it. The potatoes didnt taste garlic like they said and asparagus overcooked. Had breakfast the next day and hollandaise didnt taste right. Wouldnt eat again
Absolutely fantastic. Order the bruschetta. To die for.
Great food. Definitely recommend!
New chef. Great menu. Excellent service Food was delicious
We went there for a business Christmas dinner and we could only order from a $40 a plate 3 choice mains, 2 apps and 2 desserts... the older server took forever we waited almost 20 minutes in between drinks and had to asked to have our order taken with a large (16ppl) table she should not have had more tables, then they brought out this little greasy fatty steak on a little hill of chewy barley no flavour with 4 or 5 asparagus dessert was good but definitely not worth it but I must say the young server who helped out (Sam I believe) was incredibly awesome so polite and fast thank you
Grape and olive is pretty good. The decor is outdated though and the buffet pretty expensive. I dont find the variety very good. The staff are always friendly and food reasonably fresh.
Fine dining at its finest!
Very good food and amazing service and very nice decor
A nice fine dinning experience.
Good food, great service..prime rib special.
Service is good. Food is delicious. Buffet is amazing. Major price increase lately though. Buffet went from about 17 bucks to 25 per person. Its worth it.
Excellent service... well sized portions and options. I would highly recommend giving this a try
Only went for drinks. Great martinis
Went there for the Mothers Day brunch. WOW it was great. Will be back again. The Sunday brunch (only 1/month) is held in the adjoining ballroom that was all dressed up for the event. Classy!
Good food, nice staff, the pricing seems a little high. Amazing martini menu
Food was good. Expensive and smaller portions
Our first visit here and we will most definitely be going back. We only had pub fare but it was delish! I had the lamb burger...i highly recommend it. Also had the most amazing dessert...carrot caramel cheesecake...can you say Omg! All homemade. Thanks for a great dinner and we will see you again soooon!!
Absolutely wonderful brunch! The best pasta Ive ever had, made to order in front of me. HOMEMADE fresh focaccia TO DIE FOR!!!! Lots to choose from. Omelette station, waffles, carvery and so much more. An evil genius must do the desserts. White and Milk chocolate fondue, FRESH fruits, cakes, pies, cheesecakes, pastries, mousse, squares, tarts and several surprises. You will NOT be disappointed. Make sure you get a reservation or you will be sad.
Food delicious, service A-1, very clean, prices, reasonable. Next visit, prime rib.
Great food. Good service
Pricey breakfast on top of a pricey room.
Fast attentive service. Food was very tasty. Nice open space. I wss there on a work trip but would gladly return with my wife for a special occation
Great restaurant in the Best Western plus Mariposa hotel. Excellent food, service and atmosphere
Great food and great service. Excellent value
I live in Orillia but this was the first time Ive been here. I was pleasantly surprised at how great the food was. It was delicious and in large portions. The price was reasonable too compared to other similar restaurants, and the staff was friendly and quick. We will definitely be coming back!
Fantastic experience. My wife and I celebrated ourn 2nd wedding anniversary here this evening and it was great from the moment we walk in to the moment we left. We each had the prime rib special and we shared a scallop and risotto appetizer and the scallops were some of the best weve had since we moved from PEI. Our server Kristin really set it over the top with her hospitality and when she brought out an enormous surprise piece of caramel carrot cheesecake it just sealed it for us.
Expensive breakfast on top of room charges st this Best Western.
Amazing ....always enjoy this place ...
My wife and I come here for the breakfasts as they are amazing...the coffee is great and the omelettes are especially good, the only complaints I have is that breakfast ends too early and they are sometimes understaffed.
We had a very nice dinner at the Grape and Olive. Food was excellent service was good.
Excellent service staff
An excellent dinner for 4 before a concert at Casino Rama. We were Impressed with the menu selections, food quality and attentive friendly service. Highlights include the mushroom flatbread, the beef tenderloin and the caramel layer cake dessert. The other highlight was that our constructive comment was handled efficiently and professionally by Chef Mayes and the staff. The overall experience exceeded expectations!
Ok not the best very expensive.
Great service.
Pea soup was awesome but the steak was very tough.
Amazing! Great food, atmosphere & service!
One of the best breakfasts in Orillia, not to be forgotten.
Great food and great service.
Had an amazing dinner here, the staff were friendly and recommended a delicious meal. Nice atmosphere, piano man was talented!
Great food for a good price..
Liked sitting close to the bar for dinner. Food was great and staff was friendly.
Terry is marvelous! She is attentive. She knows people. I love the atmosphere.
Good prime rib dinner. Soup was lukewarm but homemade and tasty. Very friendly service. Overall a decent dinner.
Unique specials, steaks prepared well ... Flavourful food and attentive service.
I love the Sunday special prime rib. The always changing desserts are also fantastic
What a wonderful surprise! Worth the drive from GTA. Had the chicken supreme and the sharing board...both were amazing. Friendly and prompt service. Will definately be back next time we are up this way.
The menu isnt extensive but the food and service are consistently good.
Very nice restaurant. Friendly and enthusiastic staff. Very good food. I will recommend this place and go back. They let you take your time.
The best prime rib yummmmmm
Good food and large portions. Nice place + clean. Norma Jean was great.
Great food. Eggs cooked perfect. Great price and fast service. Tipped 50%
Great place for a steak and a drink. Many many types of mixed drinks, large variety of wines. The vegetables are tasty and seasonal. Often have specials on. The desserts are great would recommend any one of the cheese cakes. The staff is very polite and helpful. The food is outstanding the chefs really do a great job. Some days they are open for brunch as well and it s outta this world all you can eat for around 20$ (never seen prime rib as an option for brunch before ). In conclusion excellent food and great staff the only downside is that it s on the expensive end. However you don t leave hungry!
Atmosphere is cold and reminds me of a cafeteria. Menu tries way too hard, with pretentious descriptions but completely misses the mark. Food is inconsistent, poorly cooked and absent of flavour.
I must say I was exceptionally surprise because this is a restaurant situated inside of an economical hotel. The food was both higher than average quality, they cooked a very good piece of steak exactly the way I asked for it and all the sides and Fixin s were excellent as well. Excellent on ambiance, very quiet, very great atmosphere I would recommend this place to eat if you re going anywhere in Orillia. Emphasis on family oriented atmosphere.
Worst restaurant in Simcoe. Who serves pizza with alfredo sauce and doesnt mention it on the menu.Their seafood pasta HORRIBLE and way overpriced for frozen mini shrimp
Had a great time. great food , lamp burger is amazing, and they had a wicked piano player to boot. would go back anytime.
Quiet night .food was ok .. nice decor... staff not very helpful to promote the choices on menu...
The food was great, the venue was great , all the staff were awesome & everyone had a great time thanks :)
not worth it, there are better places to go in town.
Tonight my partner and I had a date night; called the day of to book a reservation and experienced excellent service... the lady on the phone was pleasant and although couldnt book us in a comfy booth she placed us at a cute table in the corner with a great view of the band. Food was scrumptious, couldnt even finish all on my plate and enjoyed talented live band throughout dinner. Our server was very nice and even gave us the hotel discount as the location is inside the best Western Orillia. The lady I spoke with on the phone even took it upon herself to come and greet us, remembered speaking to me on the phone and wanted to make sure the table was okay - excellent guest hospitality skills!
Awesome brunch on Sundays
