Montana’s BBQ & Bar in Orillia

I m absolutely appalled by the service that I ve just experienced at the Orillia Ontario montanas restaurant the service was horrible the food even worse and the waitress named Gloria was absurd and very rude . In my opinion this is the worst establishment that anyone could ever visit and I suggest going to Kelsey s or anywhere else over this garbage dump of a place

I had an amazing server, she was very nice and welcoming, food was great and I love the aesthetic of the restaurant, absolutely would come again, my favorite restaurant in orillia, easily!

My mate ordered chicken wings and some of them were raw. If my olg man gets sick from this they wont hear the last from me. We will never go back they took five bucks off our bill big deal. Was really disgusted.

Great food friendly service

so... serviçe not great... food not any where near worth the amount you charge ( $1.00 for chopped pickle 49 cents lettuce ) first burger burnt to the point of no return friends burger not much better plus her burger bun was soggy ... gravy was watery and tasteless got replacement burger needless to say even worse ... had one bite and still got charged. after stating it wasnt better. I have truly enjoyed Montanas in the past and looked forward to my meal today will never go back to this lication . if you cant make a burger its disappointing I understand my name is Karen but I truly have never made a review before so sad I had to

Very dissatisfied. Beer was flat waitress got us another beer immediately. Appetizer was crab and spinach dip came out cold, sent back to get heated. My husband s meal came with mashed potatoes completely cold not even warm. Just sent the food back didn t want it replaced. Thankfully, our fajitas came out and were fantastic. Other family members had to wait for the potatoes and mushrooms on the side for about eight minutes after their main meal arrived, their baked potatoes seemed undercooked but were actually just cold. Received 20% off our meal. This review is because we have tried this place a couple of times and each time we have been very disappointed, won t give it another chance.

We had a great steak meal with one disappointment - no horseradish available.

Awful service, very few options in the menu. Food was bad, I don t recommend this place.

Probably the worst service i ve ever had, the sever took our drink order then came back 45 minutes later when our drinks were empty. We came to celebrate my dad birthday and felt disappointed.

We went as a work meeting ordered a drink and food we ordered a round and went outside for a smoke when we came back in, a friends beer that was a Stella went missing glass and all they tried charging them for it but we said lets look at the cameras they argued with us back and forth finally they took it off the bill then cut us off because we not were not going to pay for a drink we did not receive.

The food was fantastic. We had a great server Bree. Will definitely come again.

Main dish of steak average, deserts were good. Atmosphere noisy and getting tired. We seemed to get the new staff as had to ask for everything such as condiments, napkins, drink and dessert menus, etc. They were friendly and eager, just inexperienced, it seemed. Kid-friendliness: Coloring pages for the 2 kids.

3 generarions in the restaurant business myself I can certainly tell you my 7 oz steak was more like 4 oz. Salad wasnt fresh, warm with old rotten greens, not worth the money.

We had a terrible experience here for dinner. Came with 2 small kids and had to sit at a very high seated cubby that the host pointed at. We essentially just sat ourselves - aren t the hosts supposed to seat you at a clean table and give menus? I had to ask for a kids menu My 3 year old fell off the bar bench we got placed at and got hurt. Why seat a family at a table like that? I had to get up and find someone to get silverware when our food came. The host pointed at the host area and told me to get my own???? When I was confused as to where he was pointing he said I ll just do it, come with me and we got them together. lol, . This isn t even all that happened if you can believe that I ordered the Brisket sandwich and it was COLD. Not even warm a $20.00 HOT sandwich was cold. I waited for the server and she never came and I had to WALK MY FOOD to find someone! What a wild time.

Went for dinner with my cousin. Food was excellent, service was great and atmosphere was nice for a Thursday evening. Waitress didn t rush us or push us to leave or anything. Very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend

Amazing service and staff

Quentin, who met us at the door, was terrific. Our server was excellent too. She took time to chat with us and we found that she and I each have a Dutch parent. The food, as always when we go to Montanas was excellent.

Another restaurant reducing on quality and quantity .not the prices! Service ? What service Everyone acts like it s a favor to serve. MacDonalds seams to be a better option.

Horrible. Went Sunday night with my whole family, ordered fajitas and it was barely warm, veggies were pretty raw, they should be caramelized and sizzling. I made a wrap bit into it and it was ice cold by the time it reached my mouth. Brisket burger was terribly dry as well. All the other sandwiches seemed fine. I think we had Joanne, She was nice but the service from the kitchen is terrible

Delicious food in a nice atmosphere and very affordable.

What a beautiful patio!!!! It was busy when we arrived, so the service was a little slow initially, but our server was kind and friendly, which is all you can ask for!! Drinks and food were great, and we really enjoyed dining on their patio. Vegetarian options: They dont have a HUGE vegetarian selection, but theyre very accommodating with their mains and will serve without the meat, if possible. (I ordered the Chicken Burrito Bowl with the chicken on a separate plate. No problem!)

The ribs at Montanas are the best. No fat, fall off the bone, any sauce imaginable, and great fries very like McDonalds. The coleslaw could be improved. I could get a glass of Coors Light for $5 which was a bargain. And the waitress was top notch.

I don t recommend this place at all. We went there last night. The lady served us was so unhelpful, rude and seemed so tired. It took us more than 45 minutes to bring us our food. I ordered the steak which was so dry, cold and without any taste. My daughter ordered the hamburger which was not good and she vomited it on the way back home. This dining experience was so bad and I won t go there anymore.

I love Montana s! The service was amazing, the food is fantastic! I highly recommend the loaded garlic pull slapstick bread, the spinach dip, and the ka pow shrimp! Those are my favourites!

The atmosphere was fantastic and the servers were excellent. My wife and I had an amazing lunch at Montana s Orillia. We ordered the chicken wings, which were delicious. You absolutely have to try their smoked chicken four cheese spinach dip its extraordinary. I m definitely planning to return soon.

My family had a birthday party for my son here and the food was great the workers were all very friendly and the restaurant itself is very nice. Would recommend Montanas in Orillia to anyone. Thank-you

Aug 9 24 Party of 4, dinner, ribs and burgers. Ribs were cold and dry, burger was ok. Server was ok, but place is dated.

Excellent server (Kate) My husband owns hid own food truck so he is very hard on restaurants when we gi out which is truly not often at all. The Nachos were dynamite. Well done Fish was crispy with a good portion size. The brisquette sandwhich was reall good but, could use au jus on the side. The chocolate chocolate dessert with caramel drizzle was to die for! My husbands Apple Crisp was ok because he felt it was not an in-house dessert.

Personally, I didnt like it. I left half of the chicken because it was burnt. The dish was incomplete. The person at the reception seemed to be having a bad day but could have been nicer. I didnt like the service or the food. I wont be back. Kid-friendliness: They have a kids menu. I dont consider that to be kids food from my point of view.

My parents love this restaurant, they went for their anniversary and I called a spoke with the host, who got their manager to help out with a surprise. They were so gracious and took a very vague description of my parents as I didn t know what they wore, and sent them a drink and let me pay over the phone. So kind & helpful, thanks again!

Went last weekend I was seated right away, I did not see my server for about 15 minutes after I was seated and it wasnt busy, twice I had to ask another server to find my server so I could get a refill then after my meal was completed I waited another 10-15 for the bill and the debit machine. The food was decent but the service was not great it will be a while before I go back to that location.

My grandson and I went out for dinner tonight at Montana s. Very disappointed. We sat down, ordered drinks, and that was all fine. It took awhile before our server came back to take our food order. Again, that was fine. By the time we received our meal it was cold and the steak was not as we ordered; we decided we would eat it anyways and not complain. I don t know if they expected us to eat with our hands or what, because there was no cutlery on our table, so we waited until we saw a server and stopped her to ask for utensils; she was very apologetic, but it took her another 5 minutes to bring them to us. We also didn t get napkins but decided not to bother them again.

Sat at the bar. They were definitely busy on a Saturday evening but my service was still excellent. Food was absolutely delicious. I recommend the ribs!

Updated review...The difficult part about writing a review is, if you have a great experience its all thanks to the team of people who happen to be working that day. If you have a crappy visit then the people working that day are the reason, its not a review of the overall place. Every time we go its different. Last visit was great, this past one was a let down. Our server continued to walk away as my husband was mid sentence. Basic, quick answers that were mildly helpful. The food was dried out, it wasnt horrible enough to complain but I dont feel like I ever need to go back. We were celebrating a birthday which they knew based on our reservation. No mention of that, no dessert for the birthday boy, nothing. If thats what theyre doing now then ok, but I was not aware.

It s one of the best go to restaurants I ve been to in a while and the food their is amazingly good

Montanas is honestly the best place to go if you re looking to have a nice time with family or friends. My favorite dessert is the cheese cake so so good!

This Montanas was really good. So my husband and I decided to share the trio where you get the chicken, the shrimp and the ribs. Let me tell you how they actually split our meal in half to share it. I was like wow so they split the little cornbread in huh? They spread split the mashed potatoes everything the yeah I was like holy cow like thats above and beyond service. My grandson had the chicken fingers and he enjoyed them too

Best happy hour menu in town, bartenders are fast and lovely to talk with. Good atmosphere, cant ask for a better place!

Dont eat on the patio, the service is horrible. Its as if the inside staff pick up a table to serve when they get free time. Food came out, but no ketchup, salt or pepper.

We come here for the amazing pull part bread and atmosphere, however this visit was disappointing. Our favourite part of the meal, the pull part bread was uneatable. Dry and hard.

I recently dined at Montanas and was served by Sydney, who provided fantastic service. She was not only attentive and efficient but also hilarious, making our dining experience both enjoyable and fun. Sydney s upbeat personality and quick wit truly stood out. Highly recommend asking for Sydney for a memorable visit!

Over 45mins to get our meals. Meals were cold and incorrect. Server never came back to see if we needed anything. I have been a regular customer at this location for years and cannot believe how terrible the experience was. I brought my family of 6 people and it was a disgrace, I ended up taking them home to make dinner. I wont be back and I will never suggest this location to anyone

We stopped in today after a hectic Costco shop on a Sunday. I m aware that we are crazy for doing so. The food was fantastic and Cynthia was fantastic, very personable and efficient.

Stopped in for dinner at this location and experienced great service coupled with delicious food! We had told our server that we were in a bit of a rush and she was able to serve us hot food quickly, in a pleasant manner. I recommend the wings!

I know times are difficult for businesses right now so we try and order local food at least once a week. Tonight we tried Montanas. Very very disappointing. Portions were very small. Fries were soggy. Chicken bowl was very small. Not worth almost $20. Unfortunately, this is about the 4th time not happy with their food so I wont be going back. Went back today March 31, 2024. Service was not great. Waitress was friendly but not attentive. We ordered Macaroni and cheese and chicken burrito bowl. Macaroni and cheese was cold, had a burnt taste. Chicken burrito bowl was good. Okay portion this time. Fresh and hot. We did complain about the macaroni, manager came over. Very apologetic. Offered another meal or a way to make up for it. She was very friendly and understanding. That was comforting. I will try again because I think every restaurant tries to satisfy their customers and I believe Montanas will be better.

Olivia was our server and she was awesome! She was attentive and not intrusive. She made us feel like she actually cared about our food. She was warm and friendly. Exactly what we want from a server. The food was great and the service was so quick! Thank you so much for a great family outing! Kid-friendliness: They were awesome with our daughter who is 4. They had her food out right away . They complimented her and listened to her when she spoke with them. She loved the cheese pizza and the ice cream sandwich!

The food was great, we recommend trying the brisket skins and the lunch trio! The staff are all very approachable and friendly which made our visit to Montanas Orillia a memorable one. We will definitely be returning

Had lunch here a few days ago. Our server Ally was friendly and accommodating. The food was not the greatest in my opinion. I ordered a wrap and the tortilla seemed to be very stale. The tables are very close together and it feels crowded. Food : 2/5

It was an amazing dining experience. Sasha was great at what she did, attentive and yet subtle. Couldnt recommend this place more. Oh oh oh before I forget the beef ribs was better than anything I had before. Great job guys.

I don t usually go to Montanas but I met a friend for lunch and drinks and I do t know if it was the drinks or the server but we had a blast! We asked her to get the bartender to create some girly cocktails and they were fantastic. ( Thanks Allie !!!) good was great but the drinks were delicious and the server was so super friendly and cheerful. It s a bit dark in there but the other stuff makes up for it
