I Love this place! I am vegan, gluten free, and avoid refined sugar. This place NEVER disappoints. The soups, the salads, the cream sauces, the gf grilled cheese , the smoothies all delicious and hearty and most dishes have a gf option. Thank you so much for giving me a place I can enjoy eating out!!!

Excellent food and friendly staff

Really found this restaurant enjoyable. We tried the portobello mushroom sandwich and the Tuscan autumn sandwich abd both were delicious. Sides like Caesar salad and butter nut squash soup were good too. Fast and efficient service and I like the order at the front cash and they bring you your meal.

Im certainly not a vegan yet this one of my favorite eateries Ive been to in a long time. Everything about this place is on point. Price, customer service, flavours, and atmosphere are all amazing.

Best smoothies in Orillia. No question, and its not even close.

Coming from someone that typically eats meat with every meal, I can honestly say that this restaurant is fantastic. I ve eaten here a number of times and the food is always excellent. Super friendly staff that are always welcoming.

Delicious vegan food. I had the sweet potato grilled cheese, Caesar salad and a smoothie. Absolutely fantastic, would definitely return.

This is our go to restaurant every time we visit Orillia. My husband s favourite is the portobello mushroom sandwich. I had the peach sandwich recently and the liquid gold smoothie as my dessert. I thought I had died and gone to heaven. The flavours of both were amazing. I can t wait to go back and have it again!

The Pick Me Up smoothie is the best! There was a bit of unblended banana/date at the bottom, but the smoothie was delicious and filling.

Love Shine. I travel roughly 2.5 hours to pick up their Chicken Souvlaki and their amazing Caesar Salad dressing, so damn good! Dietary restrictions: All vegan Parking: Public parking only a few stores down. Place is generally busy during the summer as it s a tourist area.

The food was amazing even my friends and family that arent vegan loved it!

I wanted to try their veggie burger, it took longer than expected. I had to order it to go. But that wasnt the issue. The issue was how both the wedges and the burger were excessively salty, not happy, not fun, and definitely not healthy.

Phenomenal. Their food is flavourful and delicious, their environmental conscious approach is amazing. They offer a water station for easy refills and compost station. The staff are friendly and work so hard to make this place above and beyond. An excellent meal/ portion without breaking the bank. An absolute pleasure, every time.

Ive been here a few times now and it has never disappointed! Im currently dairy free while breastfeeding and was craving pizza. Well let me tell you, their pre-made freezer pizzas are amazing! Super quick and easy to make at home and in my opinion reasonably priced for the product. I got the bruschetta pizza and will one hundred percent be going there again to purchase more to keep in my freezer when I get another craving. Service was also amazing. Both the person working the front and the chef were so kind. They were super busy but still made me a Caesar salad to go in no time, which was delish and a huge portion. Would recommend this place to anyone asking for a restaurant recommendation in the area, whether they are plant based or not. They just make delicious food. Wish I took a picture to include with this review, but I ate everything too quickly lol.

One of my go to spots in orillia. Everything is fresh and absolutely delicious. The owners are so kind as well, you can tell they care a lot about the food they make based on the quality.

NOT VEGAN!! Im severely lactose intolerant and I do intermittent fasting, generally one large meal a day so im a walking lactose detector. Sorry to say that Shine does infact have dairy in their pizzas, not sure which one, or if its all of them or if the ingrediant containing lactose is used in multiple recepees... (I had a couple slices from 4 diffrent pizzas) Lactose is not created artificially and is only found in dairy products. Often lactose is extracted from dairy and is used as a stand alone additive for texture enhancement but it always comes from dairy. Vegetarian options: Not vegan. Dietary restrictions: Not safe for vegan diets or lactose free diets.

Great food, busy lunch spot downtown Orillia. One of the few open for lunchtime downtown.

Literally the most amazing food Ive ever had! My boyfriend and I drive up from Keswick and Shine is ALWAYS our first stop. The caesar salad is by far the best salad Ive had anywhere, and the dirty burger is unreal.. the in house burger patty tastes better than any beyond burger. Besides the food, the staff/ the woman who works the front are so so friendly and it definitely is such an inviting place to go. Definitely recommend to every vegan and non vegan!

AMAZING! Fantastic food, friendly staff & reasonably price. My son is vegan & this is his favorite restaurant. I took him here for his birthday dinner a few weeks ago (it was my first time eating here) & I loved it! We had the portobello steak mushroom sandwiches, they were delicious. He also grabbed a few of the frozen pizzas to take with us & they were amazing as well. We will definitely be back 5

We LOVE Shine. The food is incredible and the service is just as wonderful. Today I placed an order that had me picking up just before closing and felt awful (I didn t check the hours before I placed the order online, my fault!). They were so accommodating and reassured me it was fine. I have never once ordered something and been disappointed, everything is great. I appreciate that they have frozen meals and bulk sauces/dressing that you can purchase to make at home, a much better option when you are in a rush to make dinner. One of my favourite places! Highly recommend!

Amazing plant based food. Will even please meat eaters. Had a great dinner there with friends, staff was amazing with the several children we had with us, and as always, the food was delicious! Vegetarian options: Delicious. Everything is delicious. Parking: Parking spots on street out front, and several municipal lots nearby. Kid-friendliness: Staff was very friendly with all of the kids, and very understanding, even when the kids got a little wild near the end of the meal.

I just had lunch there with my daughter. I had the burger and Cesar salad my daughter had a cauliflower California wrap and arugula salad. Both were amazing. Taste and portion size were 5 stars. Definitely would recommend this place. The owners are super hospitable and accommodating as well. 5 all the way.

The pierogie grilled cheese was incredible. The dipping sauce elevated what was already a well composed sandwich. The chicken souvlaki was indistinguishable from the real thing. Cant go wrong with any of the salad options, although the caesar was particularly good.

Great customer service during a very busy rush. And the food was out of this world. Love knowing that other people care about what they are eating as much as I do. Thank you for your dedication and delicious meal.

Love this place! Fully vegan restaurant with many interesting options. I have to admit I have only tried a few things on the menu because everything I have tried is so good, its hard to want to get anything else! I love their dumpling noodle bowl and their caesar salad. Their dips are also so creamy and delicious.They also have a ton of pre-made vegan meals which look amazing however I have not tried them. Staff are really friendly and quick, it seems to be a small family-run business and they do an amazing job. It is very clean inside and the decor is lovely. Highly recommend for vegans and non-vegans!

Have been going for about a year now. Been a vegetarian for 5 years. This place has great food and a great selection of entrees to get. Service is always friendly and fast. And their To-Go fridge has some great options. We never leave without grabbing a couple of their Cesar dressings. So good. Hope you enjoy this place as much as we do.

OK so if you asked me if I would eat in a vegan restaurant 6 months ago I would have laughed. BUT, A wonderful family member was visiting from the Left Coast and is Vegan. She had researched and wanted to eat there. So being the magnanimous individual I am, we three went off to eat on a cool rainy cruddy Orillia day. I ordered the burger knowing full well the closest it would be to meat was a cow passing by the field the greens came from. It was delicious. No joking and, No I did NOT lose a bet. It was fantastic. I did get a very small bit of burpy gas after eating but if you knew what I have dumped down the coal chute over the past 70 years, a little rebellious gas is nothing. this meat eating individual would recommend this establishment every day of the week.

Based on a friends recommendation, my boyfriend and I decided to head up to Orillia and check out Shine and are we ever glad we did. From the moment we entered we were taken care of. Laura was great- friendly and accommodating. My boyfriend had the Chicken Souvlaki, which was so flavourful and fresh with Caesar Salad, which was the closest we ve had to the original, non vegan version. I had the Asian Noodle Dumpling Bowl, which was like a warm hearty hug-perfect for a rainy, chilly day Both were delicious and great portion sizes. Highly recommend you try Shine for fresh, healthy, vegan meals. 10/10 - 5 Stars. *

Veg places are hard to come by so it was promising. Unfortunately I think we stopped by on a bad day. It took almost an hour to get the order, the broth in the bowl was waaay too salty to be edible ($15) and served with kettle chips from a bag ($9).

Always a great experience at this restaurant. Love that they are fully plant based and actually have delicious food! I drive up from Barrie just to get their portobello steak sandwich and the best tasting vegan Caesar salad as a side. Their Caesar dressing is so yummy that I always buy a container of it to take home too. And their smoothies are delicious as well. Keep it up!

Great vibes, friendly staff and Im always impressed with the size of the ceasar side salad, (i feel like anywhere else the same thing is atleast half the size and its not even vegetarian nevermind Vegan) not to mention how good the Ceasar salad tastes! Shine is amazing!! This is on our list of must dos every time we are in Orillia. Their food and smoothies are so delicious, and the owners are wonderful. We purchased their homemade chipotle, tzatziki, and caesar salad dressing to enjoy at home as well. They also have frozen meals that you can take home!!

I loved eating here! It is an all plant based restaurant with great food and great costumer service. They have a kids menu as well as a large selection of smoothies (for $8.99). I got the mushroom Philly steak and it was so good! It was so smokey and flavourful. The green wrap was also really good with a spicy kick. I recommend you try at least once if you stop by. Let me start by saying I RARELY leave ratings for anything. But there s no way I wasn t going to say something here. The amount of care and attention that goes into each meal is apparent and appreciated. I can taste each ingredient independently but once combined with others it comes together to create a refreshingly light meal with flavour galore. Great atmosphere and food!

Wow, unassuming little place and the tastiest lunch! Got the portobello sandwich with a beautiful mayo- truffle and arugula. Bread was so deliciously crunchy too. Side I chose was the red pepper and sweet potato soup. I d definitely make this my favourite place to eat at when I m in Orillia. Great Vegan food! Parking: Lots of street parking

The atmosphere is great, the food is better! It is so nice to be able to eat such flavorsome vegan dishes. Many choices are gluten free as well. This restaurant is run with love by the owners who are hands on. There are fridges and freezers full of ready made dishes you can buy and take home to warm up also.

I am not a vegan - I may not love the food as much but I have tried several options and have found them all to be very bland almost flavourless. However there are good options too, they make some of the best smoothies and I can appreciate that they have been using biodegradable cups long before the paper straw saga.

Easily the best gnocchi Ive ever had.

If on death row, I would happily get the portabella steak sandwich for my last meal. Perfectly seasoned, rich, satisfying; just an amazing sandwich! The potato wedges were okay, but could have used something else to elevate them to another level. The lemonade smoothie was very good, so tart and refreshing on a hot day! Next time in Orillia, this restaurant will be a mandatory stop! Only downside is the hours are limited.

Someone needs to get Gordon Ramsay in here to rate the portobello steak sandwich. It is so frikkin tasty it blew our minds. Jesus himself is in the back kitchen making them because they are HEAVENLY. My wife ordered the steak sandwich, I got the potato grilled cheese which was also very tasty(bacon is phenomenal and so smoky) but my biggest mistake was not getting the steak as well. Amazing food. So fresh. So yummy. Dip is also SO good. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

We had a long hot day working outdoors. On the way home we decided it was definitely a night for takeout. I called Shine, just 10 min. before closing and said we are at Warminster, can we still order? Answer was yes so we got to enjoy amazing portobello steak sandwiches, salad and potatoe wedges. Sure hit the spot and we sure appreciated the care and service we received!

Amazing vegan option in the heart of downtown Orillia. Fantastic service and a system error caused an order delay, once they realized what happened they immediately rectified and even proactively gave a $20 gift card just to say sorry . Service was kind, food came out promptly (10-15), and the quality relative to cost couldnt be beaten. Would highly recommend to everyone regardless of dietary preference.

We came here for lunch, had the daily soup (chickpea & spinach) delicious! We shared the mushroom board - it s not often that I taste something so different and amazing. Out of this world good; it s nice to eat good food that nourishes your body, and leaves you feeling great! Fast service as well. The smoothies are delicious, too. I want to come back and try everything on the menu!!

Simply superb good hearty nourishing food! From farm to table, locally grown and organic products. Impressive Plant based eatery. I am recently new to the area from Toronto and was blown away at the care and thought that has been put in by the owner(s) to deliver delicious fresh food at very reasonable if not comparable prices. Well done! Finding this place is my good luck and so close to the waterfront. I had a curry coconut carrot soup partnered with a sautéed vegetable sandwich with a gluten-dairy free carrot cake. So goooood! The atmosphere is light and easy whether in groups, a date or on your own, there is a high level of easiness. The kitchen is open. Once you place your order you receive a number and they will bring it over. The young lady who took my order came by to check in to make sure all was well with food and experience. Nice touch. Friendly and welcoming staff on the floor and in the kitchen. The experience was very comfortable from start to finish, with carrot cake to go. Ate half my sandwich, felt full, a generous serving relative to my experience in Toronto and Markham plant based eatery s. Such a treat. They are located walking distance to the waterfront by Lake Couchiching and some cute little shops to explore. Parking is available in the street and around the corner there is an easy access parking lot. Still learning my way around Orillia. Feeling very thankful that Shine is located here and how well they feed their customers is a genuine sign of care. It had the same feel as in Europe where quality of food is prioritized. Thank you Shine! This is now my destination point in Orillia. It is a rare occasion that I will eat out with my allergies and sensitivities and prefer to select and prepare my own food, hence very selective when I do. I will say that the food at Shine is absolutely delicious, appropriately seasoned, I slept well, stomach felt good and woke up feeling greatly nourished as if I ate at home. Thank you Shine! You really do shine! So happy to find you so close by. I will dine here, will bring my friends here and any group events will be held here. Looking forward to trying more items on the menu. Yum! Life is Good! :)

This place is amazing!! The bacon cheeseburger and Asian noodle bowl were so good. I m not vegan at all, but I could be if I ate here everyday. The chicken tacos were good, but I probably wouldn t order them again. Can t wait to come back and try more! Highly recommend!

LOVE this place. Such great tasting food. Too bad they close on Sundays :( edit: USED TO love this place. - They are no longer completely Gluten Free because They have to accommodate everyone - as if non gluten allergic people could get sick off of gluten free food. - They changed their menu - reduced menu items. - Went once at 11am and ordered a meal with a side of wedges and was told they ran out. - The last 5 times we went there they were closed the Saturday, and without any notice. - Short girl at the cash is arrogant and sardonic

Great local atmosphere in downtown Orillia, right by the famed Mariposa Market. You can order a variety of burgers/sandwiches and bowls, as well as smoothies and a few desserts. Its also liquor licensed, so you can have a wine or cider with lunch/dinner. I find a lot of cafe style vegan restaurants dont have that, so definitely a nice surprise.

Amazing food! Even if you arent vegetarian, where else can you get chef made food for these prices? Everything weve tried is packed with flavour. Portions are decent, too.

Best food and smoothies ever!!

Beautiful- atmosphere, service and food. Homemade, organic and eco-friendly. Rivals Torontos vegan restaurants- weve been to them all. The Mushroom Board is our favourite. Even our 6.5 month old likes it. Its always a great time. Shine on!!!

This restaurant is amazing. The menu is moderately sized, with a wide variety of foods. Everything is vegan and gluten-free, and absolutely delicious. Ive brought meat-eating friends and family here, and all of them have asked to go back with me, they loved the food so much. The Caesar salad is the best Ive ever eaten in my life. The staff are super friendly, service is fast, everything made fresh to order. Highly recommend!
