Studabakers in Orillia

It had been a while since going to Studabakers, before the fire. The place looked great, service was good, chicken wings were good.

Studabakers went over and above for us this weekend. We placed an order with skip the dishes which kept being rescheduled and studabakers went out of their way to call us and eventually personally deliver the order. The staff and a manager were fantastic, we would have originally cancelled but we had zero food in our house so we decided to opt for patience instead. It paid off with this fantastic restaurant and team. Not only do they have an amazing staff and management, they also have some super delicious food. Highly recommend 50/10

The staff are friendship personified. Real and salt of the earth types of characters! The restaurant itself has outstanding fare z- I recommend the chicken with avocado sandwiches- delicious. Had high hopes for this one. Tuesday night supper around 7pm. 3/4 full. We ordered the fam burger 20$ Uncooked egg, dripping all over. Fries undercooked. Like rubber. I ordered the spinach dip which was good. I ordered the linguine Alfredo with tiger shrimp. 5 shrimp. Very little sauce and disappointed serving size for 21$ Also the garlic bread was rock hard and inedible. Expect to shout at your date to have a conversation and expect to wait for staff to come around and flies buzzing around... So 100 ish plus tip.

Good place to eat. Decint prices good selection. Fast service. Right by the lake. Indoor. Worth eating at Parking: Only down side is parking hard to find. But worth checking out. Great little dining room.

The server was snarky when we arrived. We wanted to sit outside, and we asked if she thought one would be ready soon. She said only if on magically appears. We could see some getting their bill. I had the fish and chips. The menu didnt say what kind of fish it was. The server didnt know and didnt find out. The fish had a lott of greasy batter on it. I ate the fish without the batter. The fish it self was good.

Nice restaurant close to the lake! Patio is pleasant and lively! When we visited over the summer, the portions were large, and the salads were full of toppings and dressing! Very yummy. Our server was kind and genuine.

Decent American food. Servers were polite. Water-front location is a bonus.

As always the staff was friendly, courteous, and service was prompt. Food was perfect, well displayed on plates . Its always our pleasure to dine inside or out. We have been enjoying meals here since it opened and not once had an unpleasant experience. Happy staff, good food, cold beer .

Ate there Sat (Aug 24/24), food ordered & arrived within 5mins wings, ribs etc., ALL cold!!! We asked our server & a Manager arrived with Major attitude . rolled her eyes & quoted we ll bring you replacements the same food arrived & since we had already cut the ribs apart, it was evident it was the same order we assumed microwaved, however hot we ate the tasteless ribs, without any sauce, drank & left would actually rate the place 0 stars Btw, the place was empty expect for a small bachelorette party NEVER again!! Stay away!

Great service. Asked for a hot sauce that was better then Franks. The Chef made this bomb suicide sauce. Omg soo good

I have to say this place is always my go to spot. If its for a date night with the wife or a beer with the boys its hands down the best spot. The portions of food are great. Price is decent. Service is never slow. Cold beer always on tap. What else do you need?!

we went in to use the washroom and the manager followed my girlfriend and i in and approached my girlfriend, looking her up and down, and asked if there was a problem here. it came across as homophobic as my girlfriend is more masculine and it doesn t help that she was the only coloured person.

Great food served on a lovely patio overlooking the Orillia waterfront.

We sat on the outside patio , lots of shade and the food was amazing. They were pretty busy but the staff did a good job keeping up with everything. Prices to me were very reasonable. I had the ribs which is something I normally get , they tasted better then most of the places Ive tried them .

I was there for the first time for a meal. It is the only place around to catch a glimpse of the lake while dining. Our Server was attentive and efficient. I had the chicken sandwich with avocado and arugula with a side of onion rings. The bun was fresh, the chicken tender and the flavour was delicious. (I also had a margarita, which was perfect.) My only complaint was that my onion rings were so crispy and yummy that my family kept stealing them! There should be a rule against that! ;)

i got the chicken avocado sandwhich with onion rings and my boyfriend got the burken burger with fries. the onion rings lack all flavour and taste. the sandwhich said it came with a balsamic aioli, which it didn t come with, therefore i found it was also lacking flavour and depth. the water also had a strange taste to it it was tap water (which is fine,) but it had a moldy/not good taste. the restaurant was busy, so the service wasn t anything spectacular, but nothing bad.

We felt like fish and chips and reviews of Studebakers came out great. We were not disappointed the very large portion of halibut and chips were delicious. They also provide a complimentary cup of fresh popcorn. Leslie our server always knew when to check on us. I can see why this place can get very busy. Enjoy their free wi_fi.

Good food friendly service

I get that it can be busy in a restaurant setting especially in the summer. However there were close to 15 staff and it felt like we were in here forever. Worst fried chicken sandwich I think I ve ever had.. one homely tomato slice, a teaspoon of shredded lettuce and minimal sauce pictured is the bacon that came on it. My sister had the bacon poutine and there was more soggy bacon than cheese oh and it was served in a take out box. My mom had the Big Dipper with no complaints. I got ID d twice in the same sitting not a big deal except by the second drink if you suspected I was underage you had already served a minor, no? Cocktail menu is pretty impressive though I must say.

Best onion rings Ive ever had!

It s a Molson bar so they have Creemore. And they have designated motorcycle parking at the door. What else does one need? Watch out for the draft pricing, the large 20 oz glass is not a good deal. Buy 18 s instead. Do the math. No food eaten. Friendly staff. And cute.

We went in tonight based on recommendations from locals. The bartender was very unfriendly, unwelcoming. After sitting at the bar for 15mins she had someone come take our drink orders, only to tell us she didn t have what we wanted. Therefore, we ordered bottle beer, only to be given hot glasses! Needless to say, we ended up taking our food order to go because she was too busy to ask if we wanted another round!

Are you dog-friendly or not? I called ahead and was told yes. I preceeded to drive 40 minutes based on this information. When I arrived, I was told no, despite 2 other dogs on the patio. I asked why I was told yes on the phone, I was told that the waitress was probably new, and probably didnt know. I pointed out the other dogs on the patio, and was simply told Sorry, we cant. If you could clarify, it would be appreciated as this is very confusing for patrons and was a huge waste of time on my part.

3 amigos tacos were so bland, the ground beef was like dog food

My husband and I stopped in on a late Friday afternoon on our way to Casino Rama for the weekend. We picked it as I thought I read on Google it had a waterfront patio, and the menu looked decent. When we arrived, we were a little disappointed to see it wasnt waterfront and had a minimal view from the patio. We decided to stay anyway and sat on the patio as it was a beautiful day. I ordered a frozen lemonade cocktail and chicken club, and my husband ordered a draft beer and burger. We really enjoyed our late lunch. My only recommendation would be to put a different lettuce on the club instead of the chopped iceberg that tastedlike it had been in the fridge too long. I would also recommend not offering the bill while someone at the table is still eating. I was still working on my side salad that came with my sandwich when the server asked us if he could get us anything else today and just the bill. I felt like he wanted us out.

Place was far too noisy. No music, just lots and lots of people and lots and lots of noise. Also not clear what the kids drinks were and ended up playing $3-5 for each drink because they were specials

Best patio with a great Burkrn burger(fried chicken and a smash burger with bacon and cheddar cheese) Lindsey our server was fabulous and recommended the food but the service level was impeccable given that it was the Scottish festival in Orillia and they were so busy. That speaks volume for the kitchen and service. Kudos to the staff and management for keeping it in line.

Great location, immaculate views. However, don t get the fish and chip (no bueno). The food quality certainly was not very attractive, but everything else was good !!

Food and service were good but the atmosphere was blemished with excessively loud music that made conversation very difficult.

The lineup was too long they said it would be 30min wait we went across the street and back 10 mins max, we missed our slot and they put us at the back of the line then gave us dirty looks, we left.

In town for work. Stopped here for supper, service was fast and friendly and the food was terrific, I highly recommend!

Not impressed with my first experience here. Went with my wife and 2 kids. Our waitress lacked in any ability to check up on us for the entire meal, and only came to us when it appeared we may want our bill. The staff on this night was very young, and it appeared as though they need more experience when it comes to having the right personality traits for the job. As someone who spent over 15 years in the service industry in my youth, including management, I know what a good dining experience should be like.

AVOID!!!!! We went and were told 20 min for a table. There were four tables empty with reserved on it. At the 45 min mark we asked for an update as the empty tables were still empty and were told we had to wait . My husband leaned on a table with a reserved sign on it and was asked to move and then they wiped the corner he touched still no one showed up . We spoke to the manager who was defensive and abrupt. We then left and went across the street.

Ordered their Singapore noodle bowl which boasted seasonal veggies, water chestnuts, and roasted sesame seeds. It had none of these things and was actually one of the grossest things Ive ever been served. We also ordered a side of gravy for our fries and that absolutely did not arrive.

Ok so before I even walk in people are leaving and smiling! Service was on the ball not to mention servers were smiling and full eye contact. Felt like returning friends coming in. You asked a question about the food, you got an honest answer. Great place! Vegetarian options: Quinoa wraps, cauliflower bites a little treat your mini donuts were amazing. Served warm and totally satisfying. Yum.

Incredibly disappointed, I love studes, this is not a hate post cuz their wings are phenomenal BUT in this case I paid for three tacos , lava rock shrimp and cashew stir fry , was so disappointed. The stir fry is 80% white rice , 10% veggies and half a medium chicken breast cut up . I asked if the tacos could feed 3 adults , and they can maybe feed 1 (the ground beef in the tacos are very stingy ) . And the lava rock shrimp was only 5 pinky sized shrimp . The flavours were great , just the portions to feed a few (and for the money I paid ) were disheartening. I think this might be my first ever review ( and not all negative ) like I said the flavours were great but the portions were not there

Great place. Give yourself lots of time! They literally have everything you can think of outside of appliances. Well organized for such a large place. Friendly staff that actually knew where items were located and took you to them. Not the vague directions often given by staff. Prices are always good value, and a large number of items advertised are in stock. We make special trips from Ramara to go there. Well worth the trip. Give yourself lots of time. Place is huge, prices are great, staff is knowledgeable and pleasant. You will be amazed at the incredible variety of merchandise. Literally an A to Z, selection of merchandise.

Food is excellent and staff are fantastic

The best finger food I have ever tried anywhere, and the service was top notch. Nothing wrong with the atmosphere, but it was cold and we couldnt enjoy the amazing patio. So if you are hungry and looking for high quality food, look no further.

First time here and it wont be my last! Delicious food, great service and a beautiful location!

We frequent Studebakers often. The weekends at dinnertime are very busy in high season. You generally wont get in without a lengthly wait. The wings are fabulous and are a group favourite. Most food items are decent and affordable. It is nice to see the place updated and cleaner. Staff is excellent; Jen, Jackie, Nikki, Kelsey, Helen... All great. Highly recommend.

Vegetarian options: Lots of options. Chef will adjust as well. Dietary restrictions: Just let them know allergies etc they will adjust for you. Parking: Its very tight if youre driving a large vehicle or truck. Better to pay and park across the street Kid-friendliness: Its a sports bar ish atmosphere. Kid friendly in day but not recommended. Wheelchair accessibility: Stairs and a ramp available. High top tables a slight hinderance.

This was first time to Studabakers which was recommended by a business partner. We found the service and food met our expectations. If you are in the area and looking for somewhere to go by the water, we do recommend this option and will likely be back. Enjoy!

Best restaurant in Orillia, hands down. We had a fantastic lunch on the patio at Studabakers. Our family is vegetarian and the options on the menu were excellent. The Black bean burger may have been the best alternative burger I have ever had. Well done! Update: we have likely eatan here 20 times since this original review. Never had a bad meal. Update: make that 30 times. Consistently perfect. Vegetarian options: Lots of menu options and will do substitutions for meat for almost anything. They are very flexible. Kid-friendliness: Great sized portions. Kids eat free on Wednesdays and Saturdays as well.

We stopped by here for a late lunch when he were driving through Orilia. The Cesar was great (bloody mary). The food order was tasty and quick. We had the calamari and the burger. Extra note to the Burger, I thought it was very well made! Great looking place as well

Really good food and atmosphere.

We were three. Easily accommodated with no wait. Staff friendly and helpful. Our orders were taken and arrived quickly and efficiently. Wings were devoured by my two companions, with starter for one poutine and the other the Bavarian pretzels. I enjoyed the Singapore noodles with Bam Bam shrimp. The menu cries out for further visits.

The service was top notch, they took pride in every meal they made and it shows. Great for a relaxing good time.

Stuabakers is hit and miss for us. We have been there a number of times when we are at the Port of Orillia and sometimes the food and service is very good , and other times,not so much . Once they forgot our order completely and when it came some of the items were missing but still ended up on the bill, other times everything goes smoothly. I still like the atmosphere so will keep going despite the odd challenges

The parmesan chips were really good. Good kids menu. Service was sporadic. Lemonade tasted like cleaning fluid (literally- confirmed by my sister before I told her what I thought it tasted like). No apology from server when I sent it back. Overall the food seemed overpriced and nothing made this place stand out. Not bad, but I wont likely go back.

Not a place to get tacos imo... presentation wise they looked nice but upon first bite the flour tortillas were served cold and dry... Los Cabos tacos - full of bacon strips and BBQ sauce (too salty), lacks actual chicken (also dry) 3 amigos tacos - bland dry ground beef tacos that come with sour cream but no real sauce... Very mediocre/disappointing Angry churros - amazing and served hot with caramel sauce... This was bomb!

Very disappointed that we were turned down for service on the patio because I had my pup with me. We were told that because the patio was raised that they did not allow dogs, Im unsure why the height of their outdoor facilities has absolutely any bearing. My dog was on a leash, is well behaved, and it was 26 degrees - far too hot for him to be in the car. I see no reason why him being there was a problem. We ended up at the tapas bar downtown and in the end had a great meal where the wait staff were lovely and very accommodating of my pup, bringing him water while he slept under the table quietly for our entire meal.

The staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful.

First time; I would definitely come back!! Great service, great food, and great atmosphere! They were kind enough to have it noted that you could sit on patio, but wasps/bees were out in full force, so we chose inside! Vegetarian options: Had quite a few vegetarian options, which was great!!

Renovations have made a huge difference. Good dinners and friendly staff.

We had a great time with my wife and my mom... The waitress was a little overly enthusiastic - her timing was off and she would keep interrupting conversation, but the food, atmosphere And hospitality was great!

Great spot to eat in Orillia, ON. Its a fun, loud, and fast-moving restaurant. The food was good and there was lots of it. The server was friendly and kept us well stocked with drinks and food.

I remember ordering a burger here years ago with a friend and it was really good. I enjoyed the friendly service from the waiters and they even gave us free popcorn which is kind of their thing like how some places give free bread, they give free popcorn. I enjoyed the wings I ordered as an appetizer.

We visited last night for a girl s dinner and had the BEST time! Thank you Venus, Torren and Tanner! Food was delicious, the atmosphere was fun and the service was top notch! It s not very often that your server assigns you another server when they take a break! Highly recommended by all 9 of us! THANK YOU!

Nice place, great patio food is standard pub fair with an attempt to upscale would be a great place to go and relax with friends.

Really reasonably priced food and drinks, on a beautiful patio! Its right beside the rail trail, so a great stop for lunch while biking along it. Hopefully when the city finishes construction in the area, some racks to lock our bikes up to will appear. The food was really good and service was excellent!

Honestly, everything was great up in till the food. I had the chicken and smash burger, and my wife had a different burger .My one kid had a steak and wings, and my other had tacos . We all said the same thing . The food was tasteless. Like no seasoning, bland . Its too bad because the atmosphere and surroundings were great. Our waitress was awesome.

They are known for thier wings and burgers, but the Market Avacado Lime salad is unbelievably good.

Awesome as always. Best food in town and the place looks awesome! They let my kid use the bar game systems so hes never complaining about having to wait for food to be cooked either!

Went when it wasnt very busy which was great and place was fairly quiet. Did drinks and food which were both pretty good. Service was quick but it wasnt busy so Id say thats why. Definitely would come back in Im ever back in town. Fairly limited parking and had construction on the street so it was a bit of a mess to get to.
