Order takeout from here frequently. Always good! Particularly like the Pad Thai and Salmon Aburi Oshi.

Have been here a few times before. Used to really like this place but it has been getting progesssively worse...Horrible dinner experience. There was one server who was trying his best while at least a couple of people were in the back kitchen area just standing there and watching. Went for an early dinner (5pm) on a Sunday. Only 2 other tables at the restaurant the majority of the time we were there. Took over 30 minutes to get 2 items from the kitchen and 35 minutes to get a plate of sashimi. Everything was extremely slow. Ended up leaving faster than intended because of the poor service. Customer service (other than the one young server who was trying their best) was almost non existent. Someone would just come drop food off at the table without acknowledging the customers or even a smile. It seemed as their focus/priority was on takeout orders. Overall food quality was actually ok (shrimp tempura is not good). For the price you pay, definitely not worth it. Not sure if this is a management, owner, staff problem or a mix of problems but unfortunately not going back...

Ordered takeout. The rolls were tiny and i couldnt believe how watered down the soy sauce was. It was completely translucent and tasted horrible. To me, this place isnt worth the money.

Ordered on Uber Eats and was extremely disappointed. Didn t receive some of the food and the Pad Thai was not good. Too much basil, not enough sauce, and a vast majority of the noodles were raw / undercooked making it almost inedible. I won t be returning. Portion size was good though.

Soul stone has a wonderful atmosphere but most importantly has amazing customer service. We came for a date night and had to come back. The place was very clean, the food was delicious and their PAD THAI is the best pad Thai in Ottawa. Highly recommend!

Went for lunch all you can eat on my birthday, and I was thoroughly satisfied! All the food was so good. The chicken harmony roll is delicious and unique. We had their signature rolls and many others that sounded interesting, and they were all well made and worth coming back for! The service was excellent as well. At the time we went there was just one waiter, BUT he quickly took care of everything for us and the other groups there at the time. Overall it was a very enjoyable experience, and I only wish I ate more! Both the tuna avocado & salmon avocado rolls were delicious + the Dynamite & Fusion rolls were outstanding! All ingredients very fresh + service was top notch! We loved it all & will definitely be back!

The sushi at this restaurant is very good. Keep in mind that its a busy place, so even if you order ahead, expect your meal to be delayed by at least 20 minutes.

Food was attractively presented, fresh (critical for sushi!), and delicious. Atmosphere is welcoming and we never felt rushed - a great night out. Ive had all the sushi all you can eat places, sushi Kan, banc, 168, ten, and this place by far was the absolute best 100%, the quality they brought out was amazing and the Chinese food was also amazing. No failure to deliver, 10/10, 100%

This restaurant has great recommendations, for this reason we tried twice, but quite honestly, the sushi was average and the chicken in the curry dish had a weird taste. I would not go back.

This may very well be our next go to sushi place for all you can eat. While we only tried their sushi selection, I will definitely be back to try the other menu items. I love how they don t skimp on the sauce that they put on the sushi rolls. Excellent flavour profiles. Restaurant is very clean, feels upper class in a good way. Great atmosphere and nice calming music. Both my wife and I felt like this would be a great place to sit with a group of friends to sit and chat and have great food. Didn t feel busy or rushed like other sushi places. I ve attached a picture of sheet we filled in with pictures of the sushi. For those who aren t aware, you have three rounds. First round you mark down the items you want and they will bring all items to you at once. You won t have to wonder if they forgot something as it seems to be a dedicated waiter/waitress. When you are close to finishing the first round, they bring the sheet back for you to fill out the second round. And same for the third round. If you want more, you can order directly from your waiter. Very easy to follow and worked great.

Oh. My. Goodness! The sushi is delicious! Highly recommend getting the Salmon Soul Stone. Authentic flavours, and more than enough to choose from. They also serve plates and bento boxes, so if sushi isnt your thing, you can still enjoy a tasty dish.

The rolls are okay. However, the first time at this place Disappointed you serviced fake Wasabi with the sushi, and the rolls were just okay. The tempra shrimp was not good. Is a little overpriced for to low quality food.

We came for dinner and I decided to start with peaches and cream shrimp as part of my first round. I found it incredibly hard and the sauce seemed like it was just mayo and a bit of peach. It was not enjoyable. Any roll that had tempura shrimp was also not enjoyable Almost everything else was really good. We enjoyed the pork gyoza, salad rolls, mango and cheese roll, mango roll, and quite a few others. All other fish was great, and all veggies were super fresh. Pad thai was really good! I did not enjoy the banana spring roll, it seemed like it was more roll than banana Anyways. Our server seemed fairly nice and she was fairly quick and attentive

We usually go in to the Soul Stone to eat. This time we decided to order delivery for a dinner party. Unfortunately the Poke Bowls ratio had 95% rice and the Sushi rolls tasted bland. We were embarrassed since we talked Soul Stone up to our guests. We called Soul Stone as we wanted them to know that there was an issue with our order since this is a local restaurant and wanted to give some feedback not looking for any incentive. The person on the other line was rude, criticized our feedback and told us not to order from them again if we were not happy. The positive is that this situation allows us to support other sushi restaurants nearby. Our support for Soul Stone has ended and that is unfortunate as it was a local spot for us.

I think its fair to say that Ive become a regular at soul stone. Me and my partner have tried a bunch of sushi restaurants in the area and the quality seems to be the best that we can find especially when its 40~$ for all you can eat (Ive taken a look at the a la carte menu and that doesnt seem worth it). If you go for the all you can eat, I find the tempura and most rolls are 9/10 bangers! Their handrolls, poke bowls and spicy sushi are top notch. I would avoid any of the eels or yam rolls as they are a bit dry, but their mango rolls are a nice change of pace for your pallet. The decor is nice and they play a nice relaxing low-fi music playlist that makes the waiting a bit more bearable while you eagerly await your items to come to the table.

Loved it, very fresh and tasty food.

Theyre accommodating, the food tastes good and they have Gluten free options. The space is accessible but the door isnt automated. They have seats for babies/toddlers. The rolls are a good size and they have a nice variety of fish. They have non-sushi options too.

If you re in the mood for authentic Asian food, this is the place to go. Their extensive menu offers the very best of Asian cuisine with perfect execution. Not to mention, their decor is outstanding and fits the theme perfectly. Definitely a must try.

My girlfriend and I went here for our anniversary, and it was a wonderful experience. The service was fantastic, the interior design and ambiance was next level. This felt like a very high quality restaurant, between the service, the looks, and the food. The price was reasonable for what it was, and the food itself was delicious. Vegetarian options: The menu was clearly labeled in terms of what was and wasnt vegetarian. And it was also very clear which things could be made vegan, which is important to me.

AYCE sushi place and they have lots of good options. You order by round so what I would recommend is only ordering a little bit for the first one then if you have more room, order more for the second. Make sure you dont order too much as you will be charged extra.

This is an amazing restaurant to sample various authentic Asian dishes, all excellently prepared by an experienced kitchen. An added feature is having direct contact with the restaurants head chef at your table! Very enjoyable!

Food was okay, have had much better AYCE sushi in Ottawa for sure. Biggest turn off was the confusing menu and server/owner who was quite abrupt with patrons making inquires about possible bill errors. While we didnt have issues with ours, during our dinner this gentleman loudly argued with two different parties questioning their bill/orders to the extent where it ruined the mood. Quite unprofessional. Slow to get orders out as qell. Its too bad, especially for a first visit. Would have loved to have rated higher. Wont be back.

We came here because someone recommended it and the reviews were pretty good. But I would disagree. The food was not good. We left much of it on the table. The general tao, crispy beef, and sushi reminded me of food court quality at best. The tempura veggies and shrimp were good and the gyozas were the best part. Took a few min to be greeted at the door for a seat but after that the service was good. No plans to ever go back though.

The only sushi restaurant we order from. It is a bit more pricey. But this is a situation of where you pay for what you get. The rolls and sushi are the best quality I have tasted. Was hoping to rank this spot higher but after having tried many AYCE sushi and Thai joints across Canada, this place fell short. On the Sashimi side it was good, fresh and good quality. The rolls were bulky and had too much rice ratio to the core ingredients. The Thai and Asian food were where this place falls short. Ive had better food at a cheap food court and they seem to use one type of batter for everything they fry. If youre expecting crispy crunch tempura or high flavour sauces and curries this is not going to satisfy your tastebuds. I write this review to encourage the establishment to refine their offerings and check out some of their competitors for ideas and inspiration. Our servers were pleasant and attentive. The place was busy which is a great sign.

Hands down the best sushi place in all of Ottawa. The food is incredible, youve never had sushi this good before. I highly recommend trying the very good roll, really a phenomenal take on east coast sushi. Everything is prepared so well and the taste is divine. Ive been ordering sushi from here for years now and its our favorite sushi place in Ottawa. Today we went for all you can eat and was kind of annoyed because we had 3.5 pieces of sushi left and were told we had to pay for those pieces on top of $40 each. I understand paying extra for the ones you dont eat but I thought maybe if we had 5+ pieces we would have too. Not sure if Ill come back.

I feel like this place has gone slightly downhill after inflation/pandemic. The prices have increased ALOT. Ie. It will cost you about 30$ for 2 basic rolls which makes you go with the all you can eat tasting menu if you want to eat more. However, I feel like they use a lower quality of fish for the tasting menu compared to their a la carte items. The service is always great, but I cant really justify going here anymore.

I came here with my friends. The food was bland and the service was terrible. But I still gave 10% tips. However, the server got mad at me and asked me why I don t give 15% tips. He thrown the coins back to us and said you guys don t have to come if don t like the service. How rude he is! Shouldn t tips be optional? I believe 10% tips is already too much for such a terrible service. I will never come here.

Have been eating here for a long time now. Most recently its always been takeout. They are always extremely accurate with the prep times and the food is always great just like their consistency. Its usually sushi for us but when we order other things off the menu on occasion weve always been happy.

I recently dined at this wonderful restaurant, and I cant express how delighted I am with the experience. The ambiance was warm and welcoming, and the staff were incredibly kind and attentive throughout the meal. Moreover the food is truly incredible. Every dish tasted like it was made with love and care, and it had that unmistakable homemade touch. From the savory dumplings to the flavorful stir-fried dishes, each bite was a culinary delight. How CRAZY this manager is! He said my name is not real! He is so distorted! I suggest him to see a psychologist! Also I will report to 311 and CRA about that CRAZY restaurant! My friend and I had dinner together there, and I left a $2 tip. I tried my best. Were just students with no income source, so I gave as much as I could, and thats all I had. Then, as I was leaving, I experienced a very rude encounter. The manager said, I just noticed you only left a $2 tip. Why so little? This is very disrespectful to our service. Our place is different from other Chinese restaurants. youre not welcome here! Everyone knows that the Canadian economy isnt doing well right now, especially with the soaring prices. Were just students with no income source. Why is the manager so mean and rude? Does giving a $2 tip mean we dont respect them? Every time we see the servers, my friends and I always maintain a smile and say thank you. If the manager wants to ensure they get more tips, they could add it to the bill instead of questioning a student with no income source about why they left so little. The experience was just so mean. The restaurant seems not welcome students and poor people. This is a very distorted and mean manager !

If you want to experience a Zen moment in life, you must go to Stone Sushi on St-Joseph in Orleans. When attending the restaurant we were greeted by the owner. He seated us an ensured we had a tremendous experience all around. The service was prompt and courteous. The food was fabulous and the price was quite reasonable. We will definitely repeat the experience!

Soul stone is my go-to spot for sushi in Ottawa. The fish is always fresh and the rolls are fantastic. Their sashimi is cut thick, and my favourite, salmon, almost seems to melt in my mouth. They have a great selection of rolls, and many of their signature rolls are a pleasure on the tastebuds. Of note are their Very Good rolls that live up to their name.(The battered rolls in Pic1+2). Their signature Soul Stone roll is fantastic as well(Pic3). Soul Stone is also probably the best bang-for-your-buck sushi place in Ottawa. Their lunch and dinner price for AYCE is on par or slightly higher than most AYCE places, but with their higher quality sushi, its a no-brainer. Keep in mind that their sashimi and rolls are larger than some other places, so be careful how much you order on your first round if you go for AYCE. The atmosphere of Soul Stone is chill, laid back and just a great place to have lunch or dinner.

This is our go-to sushi place in Ottawa. We go once every month or two. Love the oshi sushi and volcano rolls. Great service, and Sam always goes out of his way to make us feel welcome. Ive recommended this place to my friends and colleagues and they too always have great things to say about Soul Stone. And to top it off, they make generous donations to CHEO every year. Cant go wrong here!

The sushi was fresh and good proportions for price. The tempura batter was different from what I am used to and there was a gingery taste in the eel or maybe the eel sauce that I am not a fan of.

First time there. We reserved ahead of time and glad we did place was packed when we got there on a Friday night. A bit crammed but they did everything to make that comfortable. Good food, excellent service.

Sushi was okay. Not top tier but not as bad as mall sushi. It satisfies the craving if you just need some AYCE. The service was painfully slow so much so that we didnt even want the rolls by the end as it took so long we got full. Would not return.

The egg rolls were excellent but I was sad I could not get a wonton soup without shrimps in the wonton.

My husband and I ordered Shrimp Pad Thai and two different types of sushi on Jan. 25th, 2022. The Pad Thai had barely any vegetables in it, just 4 strips of onion and 1 piece of celery but I could live with that, but what was gross was the shrimp as very overcooked and rubbery. The sushi was even worse. We got 2 different types of rolls as I was really craving sushi that night! The rolls were awful, tasted old, they were gummy and super chewy in texture. When I pulled the Spider roll apart to see why it was so flavorless except for the sauce they drizzle on top, I found that both pieces I pulled apart the crab part was hard and chewy type consistency and once I pulled the tempura part off it was just some type of skin substance, no recognizable soft shell crab. The Dynamite roll was bad too, no recognizable shrimp in the shrimp tempura and these rolls were also gummy, chewy and tasted old and dry! They put a ton of the crispy tempura bits and spicy mayo on top to cover the absolute garbage below. I have ordered from Soul Stone on St. Joseph before on Jan 2nd and food was good but after spending $70 on takeout food tonight I expected way more! I realize this is takeout food but it should have some standards. Ive had way better grocery store sushi and frozen meals than this. We ended up throwing most of it out despite being very hungry.

Please improve the dine-in menu!! It is very disorganized. Otherwise, sushi and sashimi are very fresh. Portion sizes (per-order) are great! However, staff training may be improved. When I visited in November 2021, two families were waiting at the door. Staff only seated us, and did not address the other family, who ultimately left. EDIT: Suggestions for menu improvement. Do not use Times New Roman font (Instead, use a sans serif font like Helvetica). Use vertical format. Use a single colour font throughout. Use pictograms instead of letters for categorization. Delete unnecessary words like tasting menu; all you can eat is adequately descriptive. I can redesign your menu for free.

I had always wanted to try this place - and I m happy I did ! They have an all you can eat sushi menu but we opted for the a la carte. This was the teriyaki chicken served on a hot stone with jasmine rice. Flavourful and so fresh!

AMAZING FOOD! The best sushi I have had in Ottawa yet! Have had it for takeout and the dine-in Buffet. You must try the buffet option first. Great selection of sushi to satisfy most people, always with amazing breaded chicken and other options. Even the buffet desert option is incredible. Strongly recommend this place!

Great fresh sushi, however seemed overpriced

My husband and I went to this restaurant in Mother s Day for celebration. We were so excited to go out and enjoy our dinner. They only serve combo meals The combo only provides chicken, shrimp and veggies. We ordered sushi, teriyaki chicken and ice cream. We ve waited 10 minutes to order since no one is looking to out table, all staff just walked pass us. We were provided water but no cups. The sushi is beautiful, but only 4 pieces, teriyaki chicken is extremely disappointed, there are less than 15 pieces of chicken and the sauce is not teriyaki is a Cantonese style sauce( since I am a Cantonese). We waited 15 minutes for our ice cream, we were really disappointed. It is obviously overpriced for 3 dishes. It cost us 85 dollars for 2 mains, 8 pieces of sushi and 2 ice-cream. Will not visit again

Overall the food was really good, especially for all you can eat. The reason I gave them a 4 and not a 5 star is the service is very slow and they rarely came to check on us.

General tao and crispy beef were phenomenal, pad thai was okay - overall excellent food. The sushi is out of this world, best one in town.

Best sushi in Orleans! Id recommend trying any of the Soul Stone Special rolls. Presentation is always beautiful, and the taste has been consistently good throughout our many visits.

We ordered about 90 pieces of sushi and were shorted almost 30 pieces!! Ripping off your guests is certainly a damning business practice that will catch up with you. MAKE SURE YOU DOUBLE CHECK YOUR ORDERS! owner got on the phone and basically told me he packed it himself and did not care at all. Absolutely infuriating for the price they charge to be missing so much food. There are much better sushi places out there!! Avoid this one!

We went for AYCE tasting menu! This place was so nice and intimate. Definitely a smaller menu list than other AYCE restaurants but everything was so tasty! Our favourite was the miso-glazed salmon. We were told that they even grow some of their food in house! Brianna, our lovely server, was so pleasant to work with and very knowledgeable of the menu and popular items Would definitely recommend!

The staff here is so friendly and accommodating, and our selection of sushi rolls was delicious.

Vegetarian options: There were tofu and vegetables only dishes

We ordered two bento boxes which are served with rice and veggies- one with General Tao Chicken and the Prawn Tempura Roll, the other with Crispy Beef and the Spicy Salmon Roll, and a pot of the brown rice green tea. Although each bento box is $30, they are very generous portions so its well worth the price. The General Tao was definitely better thank the Crispy Beef, and the Spicy Salmon Roll was better than the Prawn Tempura Roll. The Prawn roll just didnt have any flavour whereas the Salmon roll was full of flavour and the fish was buttery. The tea was interesting and Imdefinitelygoing to try to get my hands on some. It tasted a bit like lightly toasted rice. Overall I would say you would kind of have to know what to order, but a satisfying meal nonetheless. Parking: Plenty of parking!

I couldnt believe the price when I was paying the bill for my 9 year old daughter (who ate very minimally -yes I understand its all you can eat, but should offer children price point.) We had to ask for soy sauce half way through our meal and for a soft drink 4 times before we got it) overall, sushi was okay and everything else was very small portions. I doubt we will return. Staff was friendly enough.

Absolutely amazing in all aspects , service , cleanliness, presentation , and the food is amazing, highly recommend to try if you have never been. I would say one the best sushi restaurants in Orleans, Ontario.

Surprisingly great food. A little scary to go to a Japanese, Thai and Chinese restaurant but food and service was great. For a moment forgot I was in Orleans...

I tried a lot of items here with the all you can eat tasting menu. I found everything to be fairly low quality or bland. The fried items were mushy and not properly cooked. The stir fry dishes had gamey tasting chicken and the sauces were not good. The sushi was okay, but I would never get it again. I left all you can eat still feeling hungry, which is a shame, as this is one of the only AYCE options in the area.

Great food. Superior quality, sufficient quantity, and really good service. The pad thai was different from any we ve had elsewhere. It was more tomato/bbq-esque and spicier than the usual mild satay style. My only knock against them is the banquet bench along the wall is extremely uncomfortable due to its lack of angle/support.

Group of friends out for a much needed girls night and we had a great evening. Our server was friendly, helpful and charming. The sushi was fresh and delicious. I had the poke bowl which was absolutely scrumptious. Food is reasonably priced as well. Given that it s my go to sushi restaurant, I would like to see more options for cocktails. Other than that I recommend it for dine in or take out!

Consistently amazing food. Some of the best sushi I ve had! My husband and I order from here occasionally and it doesn t matter what we get, everything is delicious. We have tried the General Tao, pad Thai, wonton soup, and many more items and everything is so delicious, definitely worth a try. We always order for delivery and everything is hot and fresh. We will be definitely continue ordering from here and hopefully go for dine in soon. A true gem in Orleans.

This place is amazing! Definitely the BEST all you can eat sushi in Ottawa. They only serve AYCE on certain days of the week so make sure to check before going. The quality of the fish is very fresh- all the sashimi pieces melt in your mouth. They have a wide selection of rolls including Aburi (torched sushi) that are delicious. They also have a wide selection of non-sushi items on the AYCE menu which are quality. I haven t tried the a-la-carte menu yet so I cannot comment on that, but I can only imagine how good it would be. Service is amazing; servers are knowledgable and extremely friendly. If you are looking for amazing sushi, look no farther! There is literally no reason to go anywhere else in Ottawa!

Best sushi so far in Ottawa. At twice the price of Toronto and Vancouver, you re gonna lose a star. I can get a good salmon dinner there for 30$ or less, Here it s over 50$?! For the same amount of pieces. Wish the prices made sense, would ve had a regular customer.

Excellent food and atmosphere. Nice choice of vegetarian options. Go early because It can get quite busy.

The food was delicious, especially the sushi. Good quality, unique combinations and flavorful. Its a medium size space, ready going vibes and intimate. I enjoyed that the staff was diverse. That was bonus for me.

Very good food. Ambience was more fast food. Lots of takeout work right next to our table. A little too expensive. Service was excellent.

Good variety of flavors. Ordered of the small plate menu. The ginger sauce on the crispy beef and the peaches and cream sauce on the harmony shrimp were my favorites. With the small plates everthing came hot and fresh served when ready. Busy as well.

I ordered the dinner for 2, which had a pad Thai and a Curry. The curry was really disappointing. Tasted like chicken broth with a little spices and onions tasted off. Shouldnt be called curry at all and should not be $50 (on Uber eats) for that, rice and spring rolls. (As pad Thai is a noodle dish). Would not order there again, maybe their sushi is on point by I wouldnt risk it.

Top knotch sushi. Much better then the all you can eat restaurants. Though it is more expensive, definitely worth it.
