Fresh food, made in house for that perfect touch
I dropped by Bad alibi with my sister-in-law. I was told that it had very good food So I had somewhat of a high expectation. Unfortunately, bad alibi did not Live up to the expectation. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great. We ordered a few drinks, the Arancini, one burger without buns, and the Nashville chicken dinner. The drinks were great. The New York sour was stiff, but the Moscow Mule wasn't. The arancini was great. It had good flavor. But my main dish, the Nashville chicken dinner, Was a letdown. The chosen cut of the chicken was Chicken breast, and it was very bland. I had to dip my chicken in the table salt. The batter on the chicken was also Soggy and not even crispy. I thought it was supposed to be fried chicken? It was more of a very lightly breaded chicken. Wasn't sure what they were going for. On the other hand, my sister-in-law enjoyed the burger. I think I have to come back to try their other stuff. But skip the fried chicken, folks.
Been twice. Once for the fish and chips. It was great. Second time I had the Nashville chicken sandwich. I think they forgot the salt or something as other than being spicy it didn't have much taste. It was fried perfectly though.
This was our 3rd visit here. We recently moved to Orleans. Cannot recommend it enough. Value for money, good portion size, and friendly staff. This time, our server was Tida, so full of energy and positive vibe! My wife and I had a delightful time. Yup, we are going to be regulars now.
Lots of space. Very clean and welcoming place. The beer is crisp and cold. Probably the best Sweet Potato Fries I've ever had. Staff is very friendly. 10/10 will be back again!
I had breakfast today at this place. My first time, but not the last for sure. The food was delicious, and was cooked just the way I like it. Cindy, the waitress was nice, polite and fast. I got first class breakfast and it cost me little more than $10 including tax!
Stopped by Bad Alibi and it didn’t disappoint. I had the Nashville Chicken Sammy—juicy, flavorful, and just the right amount of spice. The fries were solid too. My girlfriend had the Cobb Salad, which was super fresh with excellent prosciutto and a nice mix of flavors. Washed it all down with their Ugly Alibi pint. Ice-cold and smooth. Overall, great spot for a good meal. Worth checking out!
First time here and had to try their beer battered fish n chips which did not disappoint. My bf loved the burger. Our waitress was super friendly. Will be back to try some other menu items.
I've been there multiple times for their fish and chips(best In the city especially gluten free option for my wife). Took the plunge for breakfast and they did not disappoint. Food was delicious, served hot and timely, portions were monstrous and getting a take home container was no problem. Bottomless coffee that actually tastes like decent coffee and not diner style. Service was A1+
Great place, good beverage selection and delectable food servings.
Delicious, great services and great price. Highly recommend this local business that serves local food.
Amazing! Vegetarian options: Pasta Orechiette Spinach Dip Halloumi Cheese Sticks Bruschetta Brussel Sprouts Pickled Pogos Garden Wrap Crop Burger (Beyond Patty) Dietary restrictions: Dill Fish & Chips is gluten free + they can make gluten free fries / home fries. They also have delicious gluten free hamburger buns. Unfortunately the gravy and hollandaise are not gluten free, but the beans that came with breakfast were gluten free. Kid-friendliness: Even though it is a bar, great options for kids. Chicken Tenders, Pogos, Fish n Chips + tons of great appetizers kids can choose from as well as something simple like a big bowl of poutine.
Busy for dinner but great service. The battered fish and Dill breaded fish were both full large fillets and well prepared. Highly recommend.
Came here for the first time with my boyfriend today for breakfast. We were impressed with the Quality of the food and Friendly service! They have a farm to table approach and all the meats come straight from the local butcher. They also use farm fresh eggs. I had the smoked cedar plank salmon eggs Benedict with home fries and baked beans, which were on special. I asked for the fries to be pan fried and it was easily accommodated. The pan fries were lightly pan fried with sautéed green peppers. The salmon was moist, with a smokey flavour. My boyfriend had the smoked ham eggs Benedict and Home fries. His home fries were deliciously spiced, with fried onions. Our server was exemplary. Tida checked on us to make sure We were enjoying our breakfast After the first couple bites. Our feedback was important to her. She made sure to explain all the specials and the options to tailor the meals to our personal taste. Apparently, they have live music playing for breakfast every first and third Saturday of the month. They also have weekly specials For a wing night, wine night, Fish and chips, etc. Vegetarian options: Spinach and mushroom eggs Benedict Parking: Handicapped parking spot right in front of the door Wheelchair accessibility: There are no step so I Believe it s Wheelchair accessible. It doesn t Have that specific door that opens on its own when you press the handicap button. Otherwise, it s seems accessibility friendly.
Good food. Good atmosphere. Great service. Will go again.
Always drove by but never went in. Heard their breakfast was really good. Went with friends around Noon on a Saturday and the service was great, the food was really good (breakfast sandwhich and chicken & waffles). Would definitely return.
Great vibe, highly recommended!
First time at The Bad Alibi the service was excellent !! I had the Seafood pasta it was excellent , very creamy a good variety of seafood . My husband had the fish and chips, 1 pc was enough to fill his appetite. We will definitely return their breakfast looks amazing .
Great Breakfast and friendly service .
My husband and I love going here. Its our go to spot whenever we have family or friends visit from out of town. Recently we had a visit with my in-laws and they are always excited to go eat at the Alibi (and drink). The owner was extremely welcoming and answering all the questions we had about the business and how well its doing. The food was amazing (as always) and the service was on point. The best place in Orleans for food. Thank you to all the staff for the continuous and amazing service!
Excellent food for a pub and price was fair. Server was just ok. Forgot a drink and long delay to get our bill and no time for an extra smile but ok. Those burgers!! YUM!
Great place to get together with friends. Fish and Chips were very good. Their breakfast also really good. Wheelchair accessibility: I had no problems bringing someone who was in a wheelchair. When I had to use a walker, it was easy for me to get a place.
We ve been to the Bad Alibi a few times. Great wings, great breakfast and good value. They use local meats. We will be back. Thanks.!!
Best breakfast in Orleans! Hello , I stand by what I said regarding the breakfast but would like to add a comment. With all the food allergies growing in a fast pace, it would be very appreciated to have the option to have Almond milk for your coffee when you come for breakfast. Thanks
The Bad Alibi has become our favourite breakfast place to go!! The food is delicious and generous (you get what you pay for) and the staff have become friends. We highly recommend it
New pickle logos.. not as good as spears.
Indulged in Chef Corys special tonight, Lamb on a parsnip/bear puree with roasted vegetables. I am accustomed to uber friendly environment, superb service, and value for money - but in my 70 years this had to be the best lamb I have ever had. Keep on shining the light and I will keep returning!!!
Breakfast was amazing! Huge portions.
Great food and amazing service. Prices are very reasonable. A bit loud, but thats to be expected on a Friday evening. We will be back!
Hidden gem in Orleans, outstanding service, the food and menu is unique and everything is fresh, great atmosphere for sports events. And on top of all the prices are very competitive! Would recommend any day of the week
Great service and good food!!
Expected the food to be regular bar food but it was pretty good. Had the chicken parm sandwich and it was really good. Will come again
This was the best BREAKFAST I ever had in Ottawa. Half the price of Coras and 100% better... I was really surprised to have such a great place right here in Orleans. Looking forward for the fish and chips which I heard was great to. Keep it up.. Two thumbs up.
Tida served us today! She was awesome! The food is also extremely delicious and large portions! Had the breakfast and I m SO full! Can t wait to come back!!! Food
Owner was also our server. Super friendly, fast, and accommodating. Wings were tasty and drinks were cold. Cant ask for more!
We visited for the first time just to give it a try. The menu is simple, and the prices are reasonable. As for the food, we were pleasantly surprised by how delicious everything was. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. We will definitely go back.
Great weekend breakfast.
Excellent food! Service was very good. Atmosphere is ok, but when I went there was a very loud group (golf tournament), and since this place doesn t have a separate area for a big group, it was pretty disruptive and made us leave sooner than we wanted to.
Was biking out to Petrie Island for a burger but the great Baja burger shop was closed for the season. We made the trek to the Bad Alibi, first time there. Great burgers, great service and just a super discovery. Dont live nearby but will make the trek soon to try other interesting burger combos. Free refills on drinks too.
I had the Turkey Club, side of onion rings. I have to say, probably the best turkey club Ive had in my life. The server was also great! Had awesome information on the menu, their specials, and how they work with local companies for their produce.
Great atmosphere and service
We go there quite often for their specials Food service and atmosphere is sooo pub like . My son and I love it there . Thank you Bad Alibi Kid-friendliness: From the hostess ( female or male ) always greeted with a smile .
I didnt think it was possible to have the perfect meal. Until now, for Saturday brunch. Service from our server Tida was over the top. Coffee was better than expected. Potatoes were real. Steak was the closest to perfect that Ive had for breakfast. Local ingredients really make a difference! Ambiance was a nice combination of modern and cozy. Ive got my eye on the chicken and waffles for our next visit.
Hands-down, the best burger place in Orleans! very very juicy burgers.
The best breakfast !!! Generous portions Quick service and friendly staff.
Good is fresh and delicious every time. Love knowing that that ingredients are fresh and local. Great service , super friendly and knowledgeable. Tida made us feel right at home!
We went for breakfast last Sunday and oh my the food was amazing. The fried chicken, waffles and home fries were delicious with just the right sweat/heat combo. That was one of the best breakfasts we have had,
Absolutely solid place! Came here from a recommendation (and the slew of amazing reviews online) did not disappoint! I got the Bries knees burger and it was delicious . Our server was also amazing and very friendly. Only complaint I have is that $4.50 for an iced tea seems a little steep in my opinion.
The food ans service are amazing..highly recommend
Such a warm welcome from our neighbors. The food is amazing and very generous. I had the Steak frite, my wife had a pasta and my sister had a burger. All of them were delicious!!!!
Bad service. Took nearly an hour to get our food for brunch
Four of us visited on Saturday for the date night special. We have visited this establishment many times for their Friday fish and chips and Saturday date night and have always been happy with the food and the service. Last Saturday it seems that most to the items we wanted were not available - taco wontons, sweet potato fries, chicken (yep ran out of chicken) and ice cream. Our server Veronica was super nice, very efficient and apologetic regarding the food items not being available. We spoke briefly to the manager Jason when he walked by our table and he was actually rude about it and just walked away. The other owner Matt is unfortunately no longer there as well as some other awesome servers and they will definitely be missed. Might be some time before we go back (if we go back); we were not impressed with the rudeness especially since there was no need for it. Its all about customer service and evidently Matt knew how to treat his customers.
Great wings
Great service and tasty food.
One of the best burgers i have ever had, service was incredible, great beer selection!
The portions were great, they have seasonal soup - i tried the sweet potato one, it had apples too I loved it. The fish and chips were super crispy. Good lemonades too
I kid you not I JUST got here and haven t ordered my food yet but I know it s going to HIIIIT. I can just tell. instant good service walking in, the staff is all so friendly. I sat at the bar waiting for a table and the bartender instantly offered to grab me a drink and made conversation. I love that! Very welcoming.
Clean, organized, the waiter was super nice and polite, the best place to eat in Orleans 100% the best
Amazing burgers, server was fast and friendly. Nice clean patio.
Had a great dinner on the patio with some local craft beer! I had a burger which was delicious, if a bit messy. Our server was very attentive and friendly and the patio was very comfortable
Great food but service is unfriendly, unfortunately!
Went for breakfast over the weekend and was charge 9$ for having 3 cups of coffee with my 16$ breakfast. I would have understood the 3$ for unlimited coffee. But thats ridiculous. Thankfully Orleans has plenty of other businesses to choose from.
Fantastic restaurant. Best food you can find in Orleans. A must try
Thank you Bad Alibi and shout out to Vero for the amazing and attentive service! Great place for those who have never been, cool spot, great food and great service!
Was good, nothing bad to say about it
The usual pub atmosphere. The food was very flavourful.
Fantastic place with great servers and fantastic food. Definitely recommend.
Kicked me and my family out - which included my elderly grandma due to us having a trained service animal with us, in a small traveling crate. We provided the adequate forms, and were even accompanied by psychologists that are well educated in accessibility laws in Ontario and provide service animals for veterans suffering ptsd. What came next was a 30 minute interrogation by the staff and manager. Once the manager was called, we were told to wait for him to arrive, only to have him misclassify the animal as an emotional support dog, demanding to know what disability the dog was with us for. He threw down a couple printed pages down from the incorrect service ontario page and claimed that autism was the only valid disability in Ontario. A very unfortunate experience.
Refused to serve me due to having a service animal present. Demanded I provide information on exactly what kind of disability I have, how my dog supports me, and insisted that they don t allow emotional support animals , despite me providing medical documentation from my Doctor that very clearly stated my dog is a SERVICE ANIMAL + required to be with me at all times to aid in my disability. Waitress called the owner who proceeded to threaten us on the phone and drove from his house to the restaurant to have us kicked out cause I guess his employees didn t know the laws or how to handle the situation themselves? When he showed up he refused to read my Doctor s letter and stated the only valid disability for a service animal is autism. No. Completely incorrect. Owner is arrogant, misinformed, discriminatory, and ignorant. Highly recommend this business reads up on the AODA as well as the Accessibility Standards for Customer Service. Will be filing a discrimination report with the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario + sharing the full video of you trembling while speaking to us aggressively and breaking the law.
Owner kicked out entire family + elderly woman due to having a service animal present. Owner demanded to know what kind of health issue the service animal was needed for and stated that the only acceptable form of disability that requires a service animal is autism. Despite us providing both his staff and him with medical documentation from my Doctor, stating that my dog is a service animal, he insisted the dog was an emotional support animal just because the owner of the dog did not have a visible disability that he could see with his eyes. Guy clearly hasn t heard of PTSD, epilepsy, diabetes, asthma, ETC and thinks the only disability that exists is autism. Stay away from the establishment! Whether you have a service animal or not, the owner clearly does not care about nor respect people with disabilities or know a thing about the law. We have the entire thing on video so don t bother trying to lie about what happened.
Ive eaten here three times. Breakfast: standard pub breakfast, good but nothing spectacular. Tuesday wing night: our server was great, attentive and fast. The wings were really meh, the sauces were not as good as the list and they seemed almost overcooked. This was true of all four varieties ordered. You had to pay extra for 1 sauce (like sour cream) to go with a lb of wings. I ordered sauces thinking one would be included, but no, it was an upcharge! There was also not even a couple of sticks of celery or carrot with the wings. The price on wing night was great but the food was a disappointment. Fri night, burger: burger was awesome, service was great, and everyone in our group really enjoyed their meal. So a bit hit and miss, but mostly good! This place seems to be consistently packed so maybe my wing night experience was atypical.
I don t know why people rave about the fish and chips! They were inedible. Soggy and fish tasted frozen and old
When you need it...
Only had the beer battered Haddock and it didnt taste like Haddock (or anything). No fish taste at all. Tar tar sauce was watered down. Nice place, good service. Sorry but not sorry.
I had the bad alibi breakfast, my wife had the eggs benedict, the potatoes were overcooked and the ham was burnt on both orders. Sorry to say but we will not be back.
Have breakfast here on a regular basis! Good is great and so is the service! Highly recommend!
The 2 egg breakfast is great value and very good. The sweet creeps were a large portion with a good amount of fruit.
Great service from Matty, who is super friendly and helpful. Food very good, fish Fridays is epic!
Terrible service. Staff don t know what they are doing at all and have poor customer service. Decent food but guy behind the bar is clueless and so is the waiting staff.
Wings are pretty damn good. Wing night is worth the the stop in.
This is already an Orleans fixture, hope they are around for decades. Focus is on exceptional food (wings and burgers are fantastic, but the Nashville sandwich, best Cobb salad in town, and other creations will force you to stray from your favourites), and there is an always rotating selection of local craft beers, but the service from Matty is what puts this place over the top. Hes a one-man fleet, somehow keeping the whole place buttoned down even on busy nights. We are here just about weekly after our soccer games and the consistency is remarkable. They are also very family friendly, we love taking the kids there for breakfast or some early evening pogos.
We gathered there with our friends and it coincided with the Canada vs. Venezuela Copa America match. The atmosphere was amazing, the menu was delicious, and the staff were super friendly.
It was my first time here. Everything was excellent ! I had the bruschetta, the cob salad and pouding chômeurs. It was all excellent ! The service was very good. The place was clean. Ample free parking. Wheelchair accessible. Good for the whole family !
Excellent food with more than enough portions. Great service and kind staff.
OMG Best gourmet burger ever!!! Their homemade cheese cake Are you kidding me absolutely delicious . Great beer selection. A must try!
Amazing fish and chips on Friday special; the best I ve tried in Ottawa so far.
Great food. The Ma Barker burger was amazing! I was full half way through but in the tradition of all men everywhere, continued on until there was nothing left. Great restaurant! Food
Delicious food, big portions and amazing service :)
Always a favourite - everything we have had here is amazing and it is our go to spot in orleans.
I had heard great reviews for breakfast. I love crêpes, but I can t make them and I saw them on the menu so I was thrilled. I do want breakfast though and crêpes for me is dessert. So I had to order the potatoes, some bacon and the crêpe platter which has chocolate, caramel, strawberries and bananas. My favourite toppings. My boyfriend ordered the granola yogourt bowl. I received all my food and then it took five minutes for him to get his granola bowl. (not exaggerating because I timed it because I don t like to eat until everybody has their food) Potatoes are good, bacon is great. The toppings on the crêpe were good, but the crêpes were awful. There were thick and chewy. I left there still hungry after paying $29 plus tax for my part of the meal. If I ever have to go back, I will try something else I guess.
The best fish and chips I have had in a long time.
the korean bbq wings were really bad, tasted burnt and not good at all. the waiter was nice tho!
This is hands down the BEST place to get fish and chips that compare to the east coast.
I came here tonight with my friends and our server Annika was so good! Love the food!
Annika is an amazing server! So polite and accommodating, truly the best! Will 100% be coming back!
We love going to The Bad Alibi for breakfast! Excellent food, never disappoints! Service is excellent, Cindy is always very welcoming and provides excellent service! Add on Live Music every 1st and 3rd Saturday for breakfast, and its a dream outing!
Nice pub with good prices and atmosphere was cozy.
I love this place! Food was great and priced well, atmosphere was cool, and the service was amazing! I had Mattheo serve me and he was great at his job. He was super attentive to the table despite looking busy, was very well mannered and well spoken, and overall was fantastic to talk to.
Cindi was a great host and deserves a raise.
Our server Mattheo was a real gem. He was polite, courteous and engaging! I would certainly come back after this experience.
Do not overlook this restaurant because it s a bar! Top quality restaurant food with a pub vibe. Would not consider it pub food at all. 10/10
Just happened to come here on their tues half off wings night so I got the hot honey wings and they were AMAZING! The Korean bbq flavor was ok but a little salty after too many. Also got the southwest salad which was delicious. Loved the food. Cute small spot.
Nice little place in Orleans
Great atmosphere, food and service! A great variety of appetizers even on a late night and we loved the bad alibi brew!! We will definitely be back :)
We tried The Bad Alibi for the first time on Fathers Day. Three of us tried their craft beer; Good Alibi Brew and Ugly Alibi Brew. For meals, two of us tried the Beer Battered fish and chips, one person had the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich with a garden salad, and the last person had the Bourbon BBQ Burger with a side poutine. For dessert, we shared the Toblerone Crème brûlée and the Poor Mans Pudding. Overall, we were all very impressed with the food, the staff, and the atmosphere of the restaurant. We will definitely visit again and highly recommend others to try here as well.
Cobb salad and fish and chips are excellent.
My wife and I love coming here to unwind. The food is amazing with some great vegetarian options. Our new local pub for sure.
Overall 7/10. Staff was great and very quick. We ordered the wings and the carbonara. The wings themselves were amazing and crispy, but the sauce was lacking. We got the Kansas city bbq and it did not have much flavour. This is the second time in a row and both times we felt the same way about them. The fries were also really delicious and flavourful. My fiancée got the bacon carbonara which was alright. We had to add a bit of salt, the chicken was bland and the sauce was a bit watery but overall it tasted fine after adding more salt. Wouldn t recommend the carbonara there but the wings and the fish and chips (got this last time) were great.
My beer batter had too much pepper and wasnt very crispy. Definitely a great price! Very busy. Not a time for proper conversation. Happy I tried it Food : 3/5
Best cobb salad I ve ever had! Fresh and high quality ingredients with a nice subtle spin on an original Cobb. A Must have!
I went there with my friends and had the korean fried chicken burger it was quite bad. I would not recommend. But, my friends food and the fries was not bad.
Arriving at 12:40 lunch seemed too early as they moved our table to the high table area instead of our booth to try to accommodate people that were coming in for a late breakfast. They waited to take our lunch orders at 1pm for the food to show up 30 minutes late, burnt and my salad covered in a vinaigrette. Making my food taste like vinaigre. Ive had previous visits that I would consider better but this is bad service.
My friend and I went for lunch and got the burger lunch special. Oh wow, it was absolutely huge. Like unhinge your jaw to try and bite this thing. I made a huge mess, definitely not a first date food!! Luckily I was with a long time friend so we laughed at our attempts to cut the burgers with a bread knife. The food was good, fries were yummy too. Good value!
Came to try out this place after the good reviews here. I had a Lansky burger. I was very surprised. The burgers are indeed big, but the patty was very dry and bland. Have any of the cooks tried to taste the patty they are sending out? My partner also had a burger which was equally dry. When we were ready to leave, we mentioned to our server we were ready to pay, and he said he would be bringing the bill. After waiting for 10 minutes with no sign of the bill, and our server hanging around behind the bar, we got up. The server muttered that he was sorry he had forgotten about us. First and last time here. Quite disappointing.
This is a great spot; I had the Nashville Hot Chicken and Waffles, and it was fantastic. I was warned that it was a 9/10 for heat, it is actually about a 7... which is plenty hot for breakfast. Of youve not checked out this place yet, I can recommend it - the staff is friendly, and nice to chat with. Wheelchair accessibility: Its on the ground floor, easy access. Never been to the washrooms, though.
I went with my friend & my sister and it was so much fun, our sever Jack was really helpful!!
My first time going for dinner. I ordered fish and chips, one fish with beer bather and second one with dill pickle batter. Wow! They make the best ones, enjoyed every bite. Also the pudding chomeur for desert was delicious. I will certainly be going again and again.
I went for lunch with my mom today and had the awesome sandwich and soup special. Wow! Incredibly filling, delicious and did I say tasty! Mom was right about this awesome place. A great vibe as well.
Had the pleasure of having the server Jack, great server and really made our night. The food was also really yum, we got loved the spinach dip and shirley temples. Will be going back sometime soon.
Just came in with my mom for breakfast at The Bad Alibi and I was very impressed by not only the food, but also the service! The food was absolutely delicious and our server Véronique was super nice and attentive. This place is a definite must try for me!
Very fresh beer battered fish and chips as a Friday special. Switched the fries for sweet potato, and they remembered the spicy dipping sauce, which isnt the case everywhere. Will definitely go back and try other menu items.
I had the fish and chips for dinner. It was fantastic, best fish in ottawa hands down. Our server Oscar was very tentative and knowledgeable. Will definitely be back to try more and hopefully see our server again.
We went for a late breakfast on the patio, on a Sunday morning. Not the best start to our experience - table wasn t wiped down, servers were being short with each other in front of us, which made for an uncomfortable situation. Other tables that arrived after us got served before us, and our plates took longer than usual to arrive. Don t expect good, let alone great service. The food slightly made up for it. Ordered the Bad Alibi omelette with egg whites. A bit too oily for my taste, but it worked.
Great breakfast!!! Our server Brooke was a real pleasure, and made our visit a nice start to the day. To say that I am a breakfast aficionado would be an understatement. The single most important meal of MY day has always been the one that has caffeine attached to it. I have always been partial to one restaurant for numerous years, that said, this spot hit all criteria s that are important for repeat business, great service, great food and nice atmosphere. The meats really were delicious, and upon questioning Brooke, I was informed that all meats are procured from a local butcher. Makes all the more sense because those sausages and bacon are some of the best I ve ever had!! 9/10 for me I highly recommend this location and I will be back for more. Now I have two fantastic breakfast spots .
Tried this restaurant again but there was only 1 table available but it was for 6 and we were only 4. They would not seat us. I will not go back. You didnt get our business for breakfast and wont get my business again
French fries are often overcooked during appetizers hours.
Love their fishing chips
First time having dinner at Bad Alibi. I ll start by saying I m not one to write reviews but I was so impressed with the taste of my dinner, I just had to add a review. I highly recommend the dill pickle pogo. They re just impressive. Had the southwest chicken salad never thought I would say wow to a salad, but here you can. Prices vs quantity is good as well.
Good was amazing
The $75 date night special is unbeatable, huge portions of delicious food and my waitress Annika was really nice :)
This was our first time trying The Bad Alibi. There is very limited options for breakfast on Orleans. The same regular breakfast is almost double the price of similar restaurants such as Broadways. You get a ton of food. The potatoes were great with the pepper and onions on it. The egg was pretty average. The bacon was over cooked. The hollandaise sauce wasn t the best. My fiancée got the breakfast burrito it was definitely overpriced. It was pretty much what I had except wrapped with salsa and spinach for almost double the price. The salsa made it really moist so the bottom of the wrap was soaking. He enjoyed it however. The service was good and quick. Small pub style restaurant with tvs around.
Waiting for food is very long after placing order! Food is only lukewarm! They charge for condiments ie sour cream, It is only an extra dollar or 2 but when you are spending $60 plus per couple It should be included! Every other restaurant make it complimentary! Too noisy when there is more than 50% capacity! Very small, first time and the last!
Loved the breakfast! So tasty, great portions, cooked perfectly.
thought wed try it out after reading some reviews. MISTAKE! Waited over 30 minutes to get a simple burger and fries and I get a cold burger and soggy, wet fries. I complained to our server and youd thought I just killed their mother. absolutely rude. very disappointing. strike this one off your list
My meal was fantastic I had 2 eggs bacon toast home fries baked beans large milk. I was so full fantastic all round not so much for my son though he ordered a breakfast Burger the egg on the Burger was not cooked properly They redid the order and use the same Burger as the bun was soggy disappointed in this But I will definitely recommend it to my friends and I will definitely be coming back
The breakfast food is always a hit or miss. The omelet this morning was burnt, the toasts were burnt on one side and not cooked on the other, and an over hard egg was not thoroughly cooked. It s been too often that the food hasn t been the best. Prices are good, and the staff are nice. Wait time was close to none on a Sunday morning.
First time here, and I look forward to returning. I thought we were going to miss the breakfast, but they served it till 1 pm on the weekends. I had the waffles with sausage, and they were so good. The waffles had a hint of cinnamon in them which I loved. The coffee was great, not too strong, for me it was perfect. Service was fantastic, staff are very friendly. I cant wait to go back and try their dinner menu.
First time at The Bad Alibi, a nice clean updated bar restaurant. My friend ordered fish and chips, while I tried their honey garlic wings. Wanted to try the fried chicken, but it had a bit of heat to it, so will leave it to the rest of you to try. Large piece of tasty fish with lots of fries. My wings were nicely presented and were perfect. Both dishes go on special 1 day a week, if you are counting your pennies these days. Wings on Tuesday and Fish on Friday, if I remember correctly. Call them to verify. We were served by a friendly and knowledgeable lady, who definitely cares about the place and about making us happy. No loud music in the background, so a great place to catch up with a friend, or have a business meeting. Parking: Lots of free parking in the plaza, with several spots right at the door. Wheelchair accessibility: Could not see any reason why anyone in a wheelchair would have a problem feeling comfortable at The Bad Alibi.
Orleans Gem s! Food, service, atmosphere; all exceeds expectations! Friendly service, perfect food timing, proper cold draft beer, and automatic doggy bags cause there s more than enough food on each platter!! Food : 5/5
Went for breakfast with the family. I enjoyed a bagel BLT with a side of home fries. It was very good we were all very pleased with our meals. Will definitely come back!
Good food and the farmers daughter microbrewery is very tasty. Ill be back.
Can t wait to go back
Their fish and chips is amazing.
My friends and I recently rated the restaurant 1 star based on the food temperature and how uncomfortable I was with manager always seemingly looking at us. Restaurant did respond saying he knows who I am so I will assume thats the reason he kept looking our way. Just say hi next time. So here is our re edit based on just the food We ordered fish and chips and some burgers. It seemed to take a while to get our food. When the food arrived we felt the food wasn t hot but kind of room temperature. We still finished the entrees with no other complaints. Unfortunately, we left without getting dessert and coffee due to circumstances so no review on that part.
I love the food here, it s so consistent in flavour and it s always great! Their service and flexibility is also consistently great! Highly recommended.
Where to begin, I m a celiac so I m always scared of new places, upon telling our wonderful server Veronique she assured me that she would make sure it was safe and guided me through the menu, I m always afraid of burdening the staff with my needs but she made me feel included and like it was no problem. She treated me like a friend and not just another customer!!! Amazing! As for the food I can t even describe how good it was! I haven t had a good burger like that in years and my partner had the same thing to say about the fish and chips (they re very picky about good fish and chips) and on top of that my partner is non-binary and felt very surprised in a good way and welcomed by the bathroom selection! They said it was a relief not to try and choose a gender specific bathroom! All in all amazing and our new go to spot when we come to town!! Never have we ever felt so included and welcomed! Thank you again Veronique for the amazing experience! Dietary restrictions: Very celiac friendly!!!
Our favorite go-to place for breakfast, including my 9 month old. Staff are friendly and are quick even during rush hours. The place is clean and food is excellent, especially the baked beans and potatoes. My 9 month old has all the allergies in the world and they always have options for him, which is amazing coz one less thing to worry about. Their portions are generous and there is always someone wishing us a good day when we leave, its a small gesture, but it just shows how genuine they are. Great job!
The food was fairly priced, the service time was reasonable, but go on $1.50 extra for HP sauce! ?
Great place to eat, drink and watch the game. Great breakfasts too. All around a nice hidden gem that doesnt disappoint. Free parking to boot...
They have daily specials, including good fish & chips on Fridays for a reasonable price.
Amazing fish and chips. Truly the best Ive ever had.
So let me start by saying that I ve been to Bad Alibi a few times for lunch and and I do like their food a lot! I thought I d try their breakfast cause I ve heard good things about it and it s also one of the few places that serve pan-fried home fries in Orleans! Well let me tell you this - I was not aware that they didn t serve breakfast and lunch given that breakfast is served till 1 on Sundays and my friend wanted lunch but I wanted breakfast. Out waiter (Theo) suggested we hang around long enough for him to order lunch as we got there around 11:20 but friend decided to order breakfast rather than wait. So I ordered the savoury crepe with pan-fried potatoes and a side order of sausages and my friend ordered the eggs with deep-fried. Easy peasy you say..I thought so too! Waiter comes back to tell my friend there are no more plain potatoes to put in fryer but all good for my order but you sir can order fries instead to go with your breakfast eggs but I don t want fries I ll just have the panfried potatoes she s having. We don t have enough so your option is fries. Nope I ll just wait till 1pm I guess and have lunch. Ok I ll cancel your order for breakfast. But yours miss is being prepared so no problem with yours. That s great thanks. Few mins later Theo you re gonna kill me lady but looks like there s a misunderstanding and they cancelled both orders but you can still have your breakfast, however, you can t have the pan-fried potatoes anymore cause there aren t any left! Now MY option has become fries as well nope can you offer me another option - maybe a salad ok sure! By this time it s just before 1pm when we get our food after a few bites I call the waiter to remind him that I still haven t gotten my sausages he says oh ya you ordered a side of sausage, sorry that s my fault! Few mines later comes back to say sorry we have no more. I m happy with my crepe but nonetheless, this was a disaster! Theo was still a nice waiter but the whole experience was very disappointing! Parking: Plenty
We have been here a couple times. The pics include Sunsplit beer which automatically gets stars, but the watermelon drink that tastesike a jolly rancher, was a bit hit too. The pulled pork nachos - wow - and I have had soooo many nachos these had loads of toppings and a mice size, so good. The fish specials on Friday are a great price and the dried fish with crumbles dill pickle chips is very tasty. I recommend - but it is also busy. And some weekends they have music with brunch. Nice.
Great fish chips. Great place to meet up with friends.
Best burger and fries I have had in years.
The food was very tasty. I had the omelette of the day, Tex Mex, and I was very satisfied. The bacon was thick cut and the potatoes had fried onions and peppers. I highly recommend.
Stopped in for Saturday brunch. The food was amazing. I kept it simple with a 2 egg breakfast, which came with home fries (deliciously done with onions and some strips of green pepper), choice of protein (I went with bacon ), baked beans, toast and a couple pieces of fresh fruit. My partner had the eggs benedict - 2 eggs benny with choice of protein (she went with ham), home fries and a couple pieces of fresh fruit. We finished it off with a couple mugs of coffee. Everything was fantastic, including the service. The bit that took it to the next level, though, was the live 2 person band, playing guitar and fiddle. They sang mostly east coast music and set the perfect mood. Top notch!
Initially went here because the owner supported a business I worked at. As it seemed like a pub I wasn t expecting much. Boy was I surprised by the quality of the food. Wide array of quality dishes that are far beyond traditional pub fare. Service was friendly and attentive. And not asking how we liked the food as we put some in our mouth. Owner works behind the bar. I recommend this spot highly. Wheelchair accessibility: Easy in and out
My personal experience; didnt love the food....I liked it, maybe would go back to try something else. Food is bland,no taste, not saying its bad but salt and pepper would be nice on the meat for flavor. Fries were soggy. Im not sure if I would go back. Nice and polite staff, great atmosphere, but food could improve.
Just stopped in for a quick bite and the breakfast was awesome! Friendly staff and great vibe:) really decent price for breakfast which isn t as common anymore! Would go again :)
$1.00 if you want mayonnaise! Thats ridiculous, and we wont be going back. Our bill was over $100, so you think they could throw in a little mayo for one person at the table.
Finally went here for breakfast. The food was good and well priced. The waitress was incredible. She was handling over 30 people and everything was good. My order and food was prompt and warm. I think I will come in for the haddock fish and chips because of what everyone is saying.
Customer service is top notch, great portions with plenty of flavor. Great place for breakfast or drinks
I highly recommend this place for breakfast! They serve it until 1pm on weekends, which we were thankful for since our shopping took a bit longer than expected. The server was very attentive, knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. We ordered the savory crêpe, as well as the french toast. The crêpe was amazing in every way, each element was perfectly cooked. The french toast on the other hand were a bit dry, but tasty nonetheless. The home fries that came with the crêpe were clearly from the last breakfast batch (you could tell they werent freshly made) but their crispiness made up for it. We also partly blame the fact that we were seated just half an hour before the end of breakfast being served. If I have my pick of restaurant for breakfast again, it will be this place. Parking: It was quiet when we showed up at 12:30 on a Saturday
We went there for their Burger specials on Thursday. And they did not disappoint with the good price point and good servings. We got the Pulled Pork sandwhich, BBQ Burger, and another burger I can t remember the name of. Service is fast and friendly. And the place is clean. It really feels like a good neighbourhood spot.
Local hidden gem. Best breakfast in Orleans by far. Quality food, fair prices. great spot!
Beers after hockey ! Great spot.
Really good food, polite service, and reasonable wait times. I hope to try their breakfast some day but they open too late for it.
Went with golfing buddies for breakfast. I had the Bad Alibi which was far too much food for me. The breakfast was done as requested and the coffee kept coming. Service was excellent.
We had a delicious supper with great service. It was nice to meet one of the owners. Drinks were great and watching the poker on tv was fun. So glad we visited. #supportlocal
A group of friends and I went there are were astonished at the selection. We came in late and the owner himself served us with a smile and we had great conversations with him. We happened to go on a Tuesday night where all the appetizers were 10$ and they were all great. Especially the antojitos and Brussels sprouts. I will definitely be going back often Vegetarian options: There are a lot of vegetarian opeion and everything is made inhouse so they can accommodate you if you want something not originally vegetarian
What a gem of a Pub House. We actually had Jason (part owner) as our server. He was awesome. The beer was the coldest I have had in a Pub/Restaurant in the Ottawa area. The Pea Soup is to die for. The Fish Tacos were great as well as the Dill Pickle breaded fish. I had a conversation with him about accessibility with the parking lot. Unfortunately this is beyond his control. I will be contacting the City of Ottawa to put in a complaint to hopefully rectify this. Well done Jason, you have a Gem of a Pub here and we will be returning often. Cheers.
Wow this was great! Food, drinks and service were perfect. Their fries are absolutely perfect and I really liked the taco wontons. They were so unique and delicious. Caesars were good too.
Great place for breakfast and to hang out with friends
Enjoying a great Saturday morning breakfast! Food, service and vibe are top notch! Well done!
The service and food were fantastic! Thanks Cindy and Anthony! Delicious, fast and friendly service with copious amounts of fresh food!
A friend and I went for breakfast and had wonderful food prepared by Chef Tony and great service by our waitress Cindy
Been here a few times now and I can say that its one of the better independently owned and operated pub style eateries in Orleans. Great selection on the menu and the food is well prepared and tasty. Ive only been for lunch so far and quite enjoyed it.
Service was great, helpful and attentive. This is a Pub style restaurant, Lots of TVs and lots of noise. It is not a very large restaurant, quite small. Food was just OK. I had Fish & Chips, and the Fish was Paper Thin.. less than 1/4 inch (or less) thick on average, although the batter was tasty, and I had both the Beer Batter and the Dill Pickle Drudge. The fries were soggy. They server there own craft beer which was great and was good. Overall, not bad, but some tweaks needed in the kitchen.
Its very loud and we were seated by the door so I was frozen. The burgers are top notch! Service was great
