I come here once or twice per week and its always good. The pomegranate sauce and sesame garnish make it a tier above other restaurants. The garlic fries are better than the wet potatoes you get at other places. Saj platter is A+

This is the best shawarma place in Ottawa/Gatineau Area.... ive tried so many places but never had this amazing taste of beef marinade ... the Chicken is amazing.... i recommend the chef sandwich yummmmmy ! Amazing quality and taste. So fresh. Chicken fattoush with pomegranate drizzle is absolutely amazing and olive oil and sesame seeds on the shawarma wrap is a very nice touch. Not your average shawarma shop. Would definitely recommend. Dietary restrictions: Pita chips aren t mixed with the fattoush salad which is good for gluten free friendly.

Definitely our new go to place for shawarma! This place is fantastic! We got 2 family platters for my son s birthday dinner (9 people) and we have leftovers. The food was fresh and tasty- chicken and beef were tender, the potatoes were well seasoned, the hummus delicious, the salad so fresh and the presentation was beautiful. I ordered a huge order a few days in advance for a team party at work. Wow! I cant say how impressive the service was. The portion sizes were amazing, the food was delicious. There was so much care taken into packaging everything. There were so many leftovers! We have chicken, beef and falafel platters and wow wow wow! Everything was so great but the food wasnt even the best part. The service was above and beyond. They checked in with me to make sure my order was exactly what I needed. They boxed everything up for easy transport. They even loaded my car for me. And followed up the next day to make sure everything went well. From A to Z, it was complete perfection!

Unfortunately this is the worst Shawarma I have ever had, the taste is bad there was a lot of burned hard pieces inside, with a very big sliced Onion to the point I couldnt finish it and directly to the garbage

I honestly really think shawarma chef is a hidden gem , after I heard it was under new ownership I thought I would give it another try and was absolutely blown away by how delicious and fresh the food is and how clean this place became, new owner is really a clean freak. Even tho we live about 45 minutes away, we now have it as part of or weekly schedule to go eat there - this shows how amazing and tastfull the food it. The prices are unbeatable given the quality of the food you get to eat. Everything is literally made in house, even including his sauces, I would highly recommend shawarma chef to anyone that has taste for lebanese food and wants to put quality and healthy food in their stomach. Must try there beef and chicken shawarma sandwich or shawarma burger witch has a exclusivly home made sauce just for it, there garlic fries with the spicy garlic sauce and original poutine with there home made mayo and ketchup on it. Well Unfortunately my opinion of this place has done a 180° change. The employee working there today June 8 at 12:00 deliberately ripped me off. When I got home and checked my debt card statement at my bank account I was charged $35 for two small shawarmas that are supposed to be $8.99 each plus tax. I question him but he said No the debt card payment is correct. Check out the photos the shawarma are definitely smalls. I think he took $15 bucks out of the till and put the $15 directly in his own pocket after I left. Its to bad as I have stopped by this place manytimes when Im at this end of the City.

Decided to try a new shawarma shop so I got their small chicken and beef shawarma. Im very picky about where I eat shawarma but I was blown away at how amazing it tasted! The beef and chicken are both juicy and full of amazing flavour! Ill definitely be coming back and recommending this place to all my friends!!!

Loved my experience at Shawarma Chef. The worker there named Hussein did an amazing job at handling our food. We had a pretty large order, he had great customer service. He was able to communicate with my friend who only knows French and was very accommodating. I appreciate the extra step he took to change languages to serve us better. The food was great I highly suggest trying their burgers which is a great staple on the menu. And their famous shawarma that they are known for was delightful. A must try if you are in the area and if you aren t be sure to make the drive. I ll be coming here again for sure!

Hands down my best shawarma/experience I ve had and I lived in Toronto for 30 years. Foods amazing, asked for crispy ends - no problem. And the customer service was even better. Please support this spot, it s new and in a sea of shawarma places, they 100% deserve the business. Edit: sometimes when the owner is not in with his son he has 2 kids working there, one whos young wearing air pods and makes your food like it s for a dog. No care, doesn t listen when you tell him things, clearly doesn t want to be working there and your wrap will show it. Felt like I wasted my money when I had 5 other places to choose from near by.

Called ahead for take out to give this local business a shot. We chose a large beef wrap, chicken saj sandwich (photographed) & a small order of garlic fries. This place is different. Dare I say it s elevated. I was watching their staff carefully grill wraps and cut them at a perfect bias angle. It was very telling to me that their garlic fries didn t actually need the side portion of garlic sauce (which was perfectly seasoned in and of itself). Slightly salty, just a touch of garlic - yum. Another great tell here was how spotless the interior was. The service was friendly & efficient. We ll be back!

We thought wed try a local shawarma place and we were not disappointed! This place matches the taste of any of the big shawarma places in Ottawa and exceeds them too. The family platter was given lots of special attention with enormous quantities for several people to dine off of. The vegetables were fresh, the meat was juicy, and the sauces were packed with flavour! We really enjoyed this place and would highly recommend it to anyone else! Dietary restrictions: Halal

The family and I decided to order shawarma so we chose this place not expecting anything much. However, what was brought to our front door was something out of this world. We ordered the shawarma plate, the pita chips in the salad were still crispy! The salad still fresh! The pita bread, fresh! The FRIES, omg amazing. The rice was great. The portion size was great! The sauce that going into the salad was so tasty. The garlic sauce was not too salty which I find a lot of other shawarma places are. The hummus was great. To top that all off was the chicken the chicken was juicy, crispy, I thought it would be dry when I saw it but I was mistaken. When I bit into the chicken I realized something I have been wasting my time at other shawarma places while this gem as been so close to me. This is now my go to spot. I highly recommend tread carefully you may find yourself in there more often than not.

We did take out. Staff were awesome and food was amazing! Parking: A little tricky to spot but I called and they guided me. Their signage is not as viewable from the main road path. Most of the businesses the door faces the road but theirs is on the side of the building.

The best shawarma in Ottawa! We ve come multiple times and it s is always perfect. Today was very busy and the owner acknowledged us right away and apologized for the wait. Even being busy the staff changed their gloves after every customer and cleaned throughout. Would recommend to everyone as this is our go to spot!

The attention to detail at this place is stellar. Salads are mixed to the order, saj is uniquely crispy, not enough good things can be said about this place. We ordered the Chefs Sandwich, fries, and fattoush. The sandwich was nicely toasted and is sweeter than a typical chicken sandwich due to the pomegranate sauce and coleslaw. I enjoyed it a lot - it was different! - but if you want something more garlicky, I recommend sticking to a shawarma sandwich. I liked the thick cut fries - they werent too oily. The fattoush was good as well. I personally prefer a bit more lemon but the vegetables used were fresh and crunchy. The service was also outstanding. The owner was working alone so there was a bit of a wait for our food, but he threw in a free sandwich for us. Very much appreciated!

Nothing less than a 5 star. One of the best shawarma we had. Nice breads, but the most interesting part is they use sesame seed tossing on the bread, which gives a very difficult taste. Most importantly they give you fresh stuff and nicely cooked meat. Finally, Chef Ali will provide you the best possible service with a smile. Next time I am in Ottawa, I am going to visit again.

Visited Shawarma Chef with my teenage son for the first time this afternoon. The staff were so kind and friendly. They came over to our table with a complimentary plate of pink hummus and chips (Valentines Day sampler) which was beautifully plated! My son is very big on shawarma sandwiches and garlic potatoes - he gave Shawarma Chefs a big thumbs up The atmosphere was great and there was music playing. The dining room is a reasonable size with ample space between tables. I noticed a highchair available (for those with small children.) This restaurant is also eco-conscious as they use reusable plates and stainless steel cutlery for dine-in. Great food, amazing service, and fair prices. We will be back! First time trying this place. It is the best shawarma I have ever had. We ordered Garlic potatoes with Tabouleh and Shawarma Chef Sandwiches. The whole Family enjoyed the food It is so delicious and fresh.

It changed ownership a few months ago. The previous owner was awesome, super friendly, and made great food. The new owner? Hes a bit more serious, but also super friendly, and makes great food. I get the chicken fattoush salad, and the portion is generous but not too much-everything is fresh, and the black dressing he drizzles on it is just amazing. Its my new go-to spot for those nights I want to eat out but not be too unhealthy.

True lebanese kindness and generosity will become immediately apparent when you visit this true shawarma haven. They do shawarma differently with a homemade sweet style sauce and Roasted Sesame seeds ontop of a rich with flavour shawarma sandwich.

Been coming here since 2008, one of the OG shawarma places in orleans. The new ownership doesn t really effect this spot in a negative way whatsoever. Large portions for the price and everything was fresh and tasty. Chicken was a touch on the dry side but not bad at all. Beef was moist. Would definitely recommend the Saj platter for any first time visitors!

Potatoes: 9.5/10 (fresh, very well spiced, not greasy) Chicken: 9/10 (great taste, fresh) Beef: 8/10 (great taste, fresh) Rice: 7/10 (great, a little bland) Salad: 10/10 (so fresh, tasty, lemony, and healthy unlike other shawarma stores who use a heavier sauce .. this one is awesome) Portion: 8/10 (platter is good size.. not the biggest, but definitely generous, worth the price.. maybe a little more meat would make it 10/10)

Best Shawarma in Orleans. More traditional and new flavours. Our favourite is the SAJ sandwich with the thin pita toasted with the sesame and drizzled with the pomegranate glaze. The place is welcoming and clean. Way to go Ali!

We got Sej platter and it was absolutely delicious! The chicken was moist, flavourful and toppings complimented it so well and loved the sesame on top of the bread, best sandwich and fries in the area! We will definitely be back!

I hadnt been a big fan of Shawarma until actually trying Shawarma Chef. Recently we had friends coming over and we asked what if they could have anything would they like to eat. The answer was Shawarma so went online looking for what place had the best rating and found Shawarma Chef. I ordered a mixed family platter and called in the order for pick up. I was amazed how well the food was presented and not only presented but the quality and quantity was also amazing. I havent had much experience with Shawarma but I do know great flavor. Friends were amazed by the quality and taste and said they thought it was the best they have ever had. Not only was the food amazing the workers are quite pleasant and really want to please their customers. Not many places that are willing to make substitutions on platters but when asked they willing made the change for me. Certainly highly recommend Shawarma Chef.

GREAT restaurant, the food is amazing the customer service is unmatched the hospitality I received was above and beyond anywhere else I ve been, it s a small business owned locally couldn t be happier to support I highly recommend it!!

Amazing Customer service. I like this even more than Shawarma Palace!! some of the best falafels i ve had. Salad is amazing I will 110% be back soon. THIS PLACE IS ALSO UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT SINCE 2022 so old reviews are from before the new owner came in and changed EVERYTHING (For the better). They would change gloves after each use and wash hands.. you cannot find that level of hygiene anywhere. 11/10

Great people and Shawarma

Went for lunch today with the family. Had the Saj platter and regular shawarma platter. The Saj wrap was really good, today was the first time ever trying it. It s super light and crispy. The chicken was juicy and flavourful. Kids are the best critics. They loved the chicken and rice and kept saying it was very yummy. If you haven t tried the Saj wrap with pomegranate sauce, I highly recommend trying it. The staff was super nice and welcoming. We will definitely be back.

This place is a bit of a new hidden gem in my books. They specifically have unique menu items that are meant to fight the standard shawarma resto tropes. Stand out dishes: - Shawarma Burger (with fries and coleslaw) - French fries (basically garlic potatoes, in a home made french fry form) This place is unbelievable and I wish them all the greatest success. 100% coming back (very soon ). One of my new go to places

I told the owner that I had never had Shawarma before and would like his recommendation for a family of 4. He put together a delicious platter of food and we fell in love with the assortment of flavors and the generous servings. We went back for the same meal a week later and he remembered my family and the order. This restaurant and the staff definitely get a 5-star review!!! Great shwarma, great staff, they threw in a little extra when we ordered the platter and the food was excellent. We have order from this place a few times now.

New post since under new management- food is excellent. Healthier than any other shawarma in Orleans, they use chicken breast and everything is not oily, they use herbs for taste. Garlic is very garlic-y, is the only complaint. But still our go-to! Friendly staff too. Vegetarian options: Falafel, salad

Best shawarma platter in town!

Sesame on a shawarma sandwich? Definitely a new concept but an amazing one. The flavor and the taste of their shawarma sandwiches stand out as one of the best shawarma places around the Ottawa area (and probably in Canada so far). I wish them the best of luck so they can open more locations as this is a place you wouldnt wanna miss trying out if youre looking for a great shawarma spot.

Its not what it used to be. I used to come here for about 10 years and the food was excellent. Went there today, new owners, prices are much higher than used to be ($30 for Shawarma plate and small hummus) Food was average at best, portions are small, definitely NOT authentic Lebanese I suggest you avoid this place.

This place made my week. Super cool shop. Super cool vibes. Just cool people making cool food. You can tell they love what they do and it shows. Asked the owner for whatever he wanted me to try, with out hesitation he hit me with a house chicken sandwich as long as I had it just how they have it in Lebanon. It was the single best meal ive had in a month. Its not slapped together, if that makes sense. All the ingredients are 100 percent fresh and like well organized and displayed. My new Shaw Shop. I reccommend you try.

Tried their mixed plate shawarma for the first time a couple of weeks ago, it is not officially my favorite shawarma spot, love the pomegranate sauce they put on the meat, also the salad was the best I ever had at any shawarma place. Highly recommend, amazing food!

Hats off to the people I ve encountered at Shawarma Chef on 10th line. Friendly seems an understatement because this group of superb humans goes above to treat customers with kindness and warmth. I think they genuinely care to get to know people who frequent the restaurant. The food is always good and I love the innovative twists to traditional shawarma dishes and sandwiches. The combo of excellent food and atmosphere keeps me going back! I recommend you try it if you re in the area.

I saw a review for this restaurant in the Capital Eats newsletter and decided to give it a try. It is now our households hands-down favourite shawarma place. Our personal favourites: - the beef platter (the beef is INSANELY GOOD) - the chicken Fattoush salad (my husband and I thought we had a favourite Fattoush place, but Shawarma Chef blew them away)! Everything seems fresh and homemade, and is so flavourful. It might be slightly pricier than some of the other shawarma chains in town, but for good reason! Do yourself a favour and give this place a try!

Absolute delight to be served by Ali and staff... Had a chicken Saj ( amazing) very authentic lebanese food. saj refers to the type of wrap. One of the best shawarma places in Ottawa

Had delivered Chicken platter and was good, however humus was too creamy. Also ordered Falafel plate and was a big mistake, first, I chose the large one thinking I d get more Falafels, wrong just got 3 and secondly, they were the worst falafels I ve ever had, hard as a rock and completely dry. Won t order again.
