Tried to order from the Toad Stool multiple times now and every time the order gets cancelled. Would suggest they take themselves off delivery sites like Skip the Dishes if the service isnt actually available. Very frustrating.

We had missing items, directions on the order were not followed, everything was soggy. Want a good restaurant..go someplace else. Food was horrible and what a waste of money. Food

****UPDATED**** Absolutely disgusted with ownership who refuses (look at all one star replies) to accept responsibility or ownership for any negative experiences. Updated to attach my proof of purchase for you to see that we were there, and there were 3 people in our group, my daughter, myself, and my friend. So yes, you may receive more than one review in regards to a dining experience when more than one person experiences it. In regards to my daughter, I was fine following the rules, had our food and drinks been great she would have walked home and got her ID as we live close. Rules however should apply to everyone, and has she known the other child who was 19 I m sure the Mom and Dad wouldn t have been asking if he brought ID he had not been there as per their conversations. But again, great job taking ownership for any wrong doing on your staff or establishment. It is no wonder we had the experience we did. Was super excited to try this place as I had heard great things and it s close to home. I can truly say that it was our one and only visit. We went last Friday evening and were going to be having apps, dinner, and drinks. The lady that sat us was very abrupt. There was no drink menu, no Crown Royal available (only Wisers), and only Jackson Triggs or Folonari for wine (Jackson Triggs maybe worked when I was a teenager and Folonari I use for cooking) I ended up with a Caesar. It was ok. My 21 year old daughter was with me and got ID d, of course she forgot her ID at home, so I got it when they said they couldn t serve her because she didn t have it. A group of 5 came in after and sat beside us, their son was 19 (overheard them talking before they were served as Mom asked him if he brought his ID, to which he said he forgot and would try to order anyways). He did NOT get ID d and did get served no questions asked. Also, a drink menu suddenly appeared for them, after we had been told there wasn t one. I was not impressed, but hungry, so figured we would order an app. We did the spinach dip which is supposed to be a red pepper spinach dip there were no red peppers. It was a spinach dip topped with bruschetta mix. It seriously was as if it was just opened and put into the microwave. We decided not to order another drink or dinner and to go elsewhere. We ended up at another pub nearby and had an amazing appetizer, meal, service, and multiple drinks. I was really hoping this place would live up to the hype I had heard a year ago, but sadly clearly it s changed.

Needs a larger pub to accommodate larger groups.

Unfortunately the Toad Stool disappointed me and my partner when we were there last night. My partner and I were not impressed with the service. Our server did not provide a drink menu, and did not inform us that our bruscetta on flatbread instead of the garlic bread on the menu would result in a $4 extra charge. Also unbeknownst to us when we ordered two small salads, they brought out 2 large salads resulting in additional unknown charges. We were confused initially thinking there portions were very large, but alas we were mistaken. We were shocked at our bill to say the least and simply wished there was a little more transparency from the server. The food we ate was quite enjoyable but the patio atmosphere was not very clean and our server tainted our experience.

Came here to see Durhams 3rd best patio. Im not sure who is doing these rankings but Id say they are missing a few digits. Fish was a bit undercooked, Caesar salad was drowned in dressing. Every place has bad days, apparently I visited on one of them.

We had the special which was the fish n chips. The fish was basa which we did not like . The other down fall was that cause it was a special the girl did not tell us that I had to order a drink , so she charged me $ 3 for a water , not happy with that , they need to be up front and telling there customers about there menu . The service was terrific, but it wasnt busy either . And as far as it goes they need to put there daily specials on the menu so people dont need to ask ! I dont think we be back unfortunately.

I had the pleasure of dining here last Friday with my sister. Our waitress, the owners daughter was so incredibly lovely and our food was amazing. My sister and her family have been raving about this place and now I know why.

Was very rude when 3 of us went in. It wasnt busy at all, and they did not seem happy to have us there. Didnt have a drink menu, but then a large group came in after us and magically they did have a drink menu. Had the spinach dip and it was very greasy, white sangria was horrible too. Definitely better pubs close by to go to.

Cute place, horrible service, food, and mixed drinks. Will not be back, which I m sure based on responses from other 1 star reviews the owner will claim this is false or that we should have contacted them based on their responses here and the attitude from staff in the restaurant I would never contact them with an issue.

All the servers are great people, the food is amazing and ever since I started coming here I haven t wanted to go anywhere else. Very social place, easy place to make new friends as well.

Food is great. Prices are very reasonable. I got steak tacos today. 3 loaded steak tacos, real steak, 12$. I ve had wings here before, best wings around and the sauces are the best. Great food and great atmosphere!

TOAD STOOL!! Yall just rocked my tastebuds, in the best way!! So I just ordered the chicken parmesan, to go, and it came with linguini Alfredo, Mmmm... I ordered an extra piece of chicken too, because its good. Let me tell you how I enjoyed the heck out of this meal; Im so full!! In the end I was eating strictly for flavour. I will say the tomato sauce on the chicken Parm could have been a little less but nevertheless, it was bomb!!! Ill be back Thank you!!

Great little family owned Pub. Relaxed environment, great waitresses and the owner Todd is hands on with serving food and always welcoming patrons. Most importantly not a chain and a very friendly place. I recommend the beef/chicken teriyaki and the chicken parm. Delicious

Whoever was cooking last night between 6:30pm-7pm feb 28th...you need to do better, and have someone check meals you prepare. Paid $22 (with no drink btw) for honestly the worst food ive ever seen and smelt given to me. Double cheese burger had rock hard bread, 2 little pieces of meat that were tough and near cold, a slice of dry cheese, and a plop of mashed potatoes that had the consistency of...i dont even know. I know you saw it wasnt good...and still put it out? And again $22? Wild. I was too tired, hungry and cold to go for my money back, i didnt even eat it and had to leave it outside cuz the smell was taking over my place....so i ordered St.Louis which was only $2 more since i got extra bacon and it was Juicy, hardy, and smelt amazing when i opened the container. I dont mind paying that for a premium burger and side if the experience is good, id honestly tell you to stay out the kitchen. UPDATE to the response below - it WAS NOT delivered, it was picked up by me and it was 3 minutes from time of pickup to seated at the house trying to eat, as i was staying on that street over night. Also, my ST Louis order WAS delivered, which took 40 minutes and had other stops and still showed up how i described, hot and juicy... so theres no excuse for what i received. I did call to let staff know it was garbage, however i did not want any more food from your place.

Great service, great food nice quiet patio

A hidden gem. Home made chicken fingers with super tender juicy chicken and crispy penko coating. Home cut fries. How do you go wrong. Best home made soups. Steaks are fantastic, burgers delicious , pastas fantastic. Never a bad meal. Small space but I personally love the atmosphere. Very clean.

The food is always great - their chicken is the bomb. This time I had the Spicy Chicken sandwich and it is sooooo good - hubby had the Chicken Fingers and they were fantastic. Service is always good. Cesar s are always spot on. And a true wine pour always makes me happy.

Great staff, we were there for a birthday dinner. The ribs were a little dry, but the food was hot, fresh, and tasty. Well be back again.

No complaints about the food. Had the veggie wrap and it was packed with a virtual salad with a tasty vinaigrette and a side of fries. My problem was the service. I came in and took a seat and it was about 10 minutes before I was noticed presumably because I wasnt in the bar area, which seemed almost full, and I wanted to read anyways. Order for a beer taken and menu given, the drink was brought and I was told that someone would be along in a couple minutes to follow up. I settled in with my book and read. After about 10 minutes no one had come by and so I looked around to see if anyone noticed me. Nothing. About another 15 minutes went by and still nothing. Other patrons were leaving, so the place had so not many customers. Still nothing. So out of sheer frustration I picked up my long empty glass and went from my table to the bar and asked for another.. I even asked Should I be sitting somewhere else? because I wondered if I was invisible. No, where I was was fine. Not long after I got my order, which again, was absolutely fine. So I finished settled up and left but I was annoyed. Since when is it MY job to chase down serving staff? You come find me, especially if its not that busy. Nearly a half hour sitting without a single interaction is too long. I wrote an earlier review with a harsher rating but I pulled it because I didnt take the food into account which afterwards I thought unfair. I can forgive almost anything at a restaurant -- mistake on the order, something a bit overdone or under done, a mistake on the bill, but not being forgotten about. And thats how I felt. They havent lost a customer, yet, and Ill try there again in the not too distant future. And if my experience is better Ill delete this review..one more thing. After my previous, now deleted (by me) review, I was messaged I could call the owner, which I did about a half hour after I got the message. However, I was told that the person was gone and would not be back until a couple days later. So I tried.

Excessively noisy. Roadhouse feel, not restaurant. Decided to take food home. It was expensive, especially after paying $85 with tax, for 3 pops, and 4 entries. Veg stirfry was too spicey; noodles undercooked. The others didn t enjoy their orders either. Intended to dine in but too noisy. Vegetarian options: Pricey. Too spicey. Undercooked noodles. Parking: Parking was fine.

Lets start with walking in, theres a sign that says wait to be seated. I waited, and waited and waited, finally i decide to go to the bar and thats when i see the waitress get up from the end of the bar and go behind the counter. I ordered 2 drunken chicken sandwiches, one with a poutine, the other with onion rings and stuffed mushrooms on the side. The mushrooms may have been stuffed with a spinach dip but for 12 dollars I should have gotten more than 5. The breading on the chicken sandwiches was over cooked and the oil used to fry them tastes like it hasnt been changed in months. The bacon had a rancid taste add one didnt even have the lime sauce. Either it was the fries themselves or its the gravy on them but its super salty, and about the only thing that was good was the store bought onion rings that most restaurants sell. Overall very disappointed with this place and doubt I will ever go back. After reading the other reviews I wonder if the people were put up to it to give them a good review or maybe I just went at the wrong time. Considering I wasnt even important enough for anyone to come to the hostess stand to welcome me.

First patio lunch of the season. It was great, fist time there I had a greek salad and my husband had a hamburger and fries . Very enjoyable, and the beer was nice and cold.

My husband ordered teriyaki beef with broccoli for delivery. This is what he received. A huge amount of rice, about 6 or 7 small pieces of beef with a spoonful or teriyaki and absolutely not one piece of broccoli. This was nearly $20! We have ordered from here before and found the food to be very good but this is unacceptable. I did try to call the restaurant several times after we received the order but the phone either went to a voice message service that has not been set up or was busy each time and I was not able to reach anyone.

So glad I finally tried The Toad Stool today. Great little patio out back. Service and food were great.

Decent pub fare. We were hoping patio was open, but may have been wet from rain earlier. We had the fish and chicken sandwiches. They were okay, could have used a bit more seasoning in the meat. The fish was nice and thick with minimal batter. All in all a decent lunch for the price.

This is a great little BBQ joint. Ive been there twice now. Once for drinking and watching a hockey game and once for a dinner date. Both times i was impressed with the service. TVs eveywhere you look so everyone can watch the game. Good size food portions and lots of deals. Will be back for sure.

Passed by on a pretty quiet Thanksgiving night not expecting much since many restaurants were closed. Service was amazing. I believe the owner served us as well. Very friendly people - they let us sample the sauce before making a decision and even walked us through how they made it. The dill pickle parm wings were delicious! I would come back if I passed by again. Overall, great food and experience.

Food was excellent but the service was slow and it took a long time for the food to arrive. But there was 9 of us and I know that takes a while to put together. We all enjoyed our meals and will definitely return.

The food was good, like the beet salad . The management and bar staff need to make SURE and STOP serving customers who had 5-15 drinks . Yes, there are big spenders, who talks everyones ears off and visit bar 3-6 days a week. Some of these customers are driving and home because they live close to the bar. We ordered from Skip tonight (never again!) and the driver delivered us the wrong order. I attempted to reach Skip but got no response. Called the restaurant and they realized the drivers mistake and initially agreed it was Skips issue but when I advised them of my issue with no response from Skip, this restaurant went ABOVE AND BEYOND to correct the problem. Not only did the restaurant remake the order, the owner delivered it himself to ensure we received it as quickly as possible. He was incredibly humble and apologetic for a mistake that wasn t even theirs! The food was incredible and the customer service is by far the best we have had in any situation. Because of the owners actions, we will make every effort to order from here directly as often as we can. Great job guys and amazing food!

I had previously left this review which I had deleted as I tried to sort out the issue with the owner but since he has chosen to since ignore my messages I will repost my review. I also posted this review on a Facebook food review group where he chose to make fun of the way in which I order my food and then tried to report my review so that no bad reviews could be posted about the establishment. We went to Toadstool Pub for lunch today. To start we waited ten minutes to be seated. Not because it was busy. Because there were zero staff out front, as the hostess/waitress were in the back chatting away. We were actually on our way out the door once the waitress finally appeared. Once we were seated We waited a while to have our orders taken. Our food did come in decent timing. The food was alright. Fairly average. My husband had a burger and I had a Reuben. The fries were REALLY salty. Overheard another table say their beer was flat. If we lived in the area we d maybe give it another shot but based on the service alone we wouldn t rush back.

Ordered the cottage pie for $15. This is what it came in, cold. Still hungry.

Ordered there last night, drove from bowmanville for it. Wont be doing that again. Had steak and shrimp with out the shrimp and the steak was sitting in 1/2 of juice. The worst take out pub food I have had in a long time.

Great food and a friendly place

Had wings. This is my go to and a good indicator of the pub food when I try a place. They were really good. The wings are slightly breaded, so along with being very meaty, they have a great crunch under whatever flavour you have. I ordered hot, but should have ordered Franks Red Hot. The pubs hot is more intense than just Franks. Have to remember for next time. I cant believe they have several more intense levels of heat than I had. My partner had fish tacos and they were big and very tasty. Had to take one home. We also ordered the Buffalo cauliflower as an app. You must try these. They are really good too! The beer was really cold so all together was exactly what I needed. Going back again soon for more wings. Love to support these local folks.

A great local pub. Food can be very good here. Smaller pub friendly people obviously can t have the huge draft selection. Our go to take out place during Covid. Order direct if possible.

we arrived in the afternoon for dinner me and my group werent even seated properly we were just told to pick a seat and our host came to our table and through down a bunch of menus but she did gave us to many so we had 4 extra when we were taking our order she had a lot of attitude the food was ok but the service was terrible.

Excellent little local pub, my wife and I went there for lunch today and I could not believe the quality of the food. We shared the cheese rice croquette: amazing! You just don t find that type of app in a regular pub. I had the spicy chicken and bacon wrap with the sweet potato fries - everything about it was right! Fresh veggies, amazing chicken, and the fries were so good. My wife had the jerk chicken tacos and they were just amazing, what an explosion of flavours in your mouth! Also, I thought that the food presentation was like an expensive downtown pub (yet with a local pub pricing): elegant, clean dishes, and from what I could tell, nothing was put in the microwave. Our server was awesome, super polite, knowledgeable, and of great service overall. Last point: I love the fact that they work with some local breweries (Old Flame in Port Perry and Brock Street in Whitby). I am a huge fan of supporting local business and my wife and I left the pub today with a strong desire to come back. We can t wait to try the other unique things on the menu. As a bonus, we sat outside in the patio looking at the Harmony creek reserve and listening to birds and nature. Congratulations for running a small business that in our view, adds a lot of value to our neighbourhood. We are fans now!

We had a lovely patio dinner. Quaint and quiet with a green space backdrop. The beer was cold and the food was great. The server was funny and friendly. Bathrooms are clean, restaurant is also quite nice with lots of seating. No complaints!!

Just had the Drunken Chicken Sandwich for lunch. I gotta say folks, it s definitely worth getting. Chicken was a huge piece, super crispy, awesome sauce (and I m not normally into the sweet ish sauces but) the cheese and onion ring just completed it. I m stuffed and need a nap now

Their patio is amazing. It was a cold evening so I choose to stay in with my mortgage client. Excellent qualiy food plus it is as close as home-made. I choose to order Aloo Gobi and my client choose fish and chips. Both were made to the par. Staffs was nice and friendly. There was a misunderstanding about my drink which was corrected immdiately. The restaurant is cozy. I would host another client meeting at this establishment. Affordable prices too!

Well this was a fun little place! Tucked away little gem, it is! Was on Durham Region Eats (FB) looking for best wings for the hubby. He was happy. I was happy. I ordered the vegetarian stir fry and it was very nice. Service was quick and fairly priced. It has a wee patio outside that would be ideal for any of you hikers at Harmony Park looking for a bite.

Hey Cynthia Whyte. Your review of the toadstool is unfair and incorrect. When you made your post there was not a limit of 10 people. Doug Ford made it 50%. I ve seen your other review and you are just as harsh. Do you know what a bad google review does for a business? Menchies didn t open at noon so they get a 2 star review? Who do you think you are? I ve read your other reviews and while the Toadstool was in compliance.with the capacity last week how do you explain all of your travelling during the pandemic? Everyone was supposed to stay at home yet you are eating at restaurants all over Ontario. You are the Google reviews Karen.

We order from here all the time! Food is always amazing regardless of what we order or whether it was picked up vs Uber eats. Pay attention to the deals of the week before you order as there are always specials going on. Staff and owner are extremely friendly. It s by far the best place to go to for pub-style food in the area!

First time ordering here and will definitely order again. Hands down one of the best burgers ( the toadstool burger) and an incredible drunken chicken sandwich. Portions are perfect and everything is fresh!!! Thank you for a great meal

not order from here again. order 2 burgers on with fries and one from salad burgers were made wrong. one was to be a lettuce bun and came with a regular bun. the second burger had bacon and cheddar cheese added. was not cheddar cheese was processed cheese. also was only to be only ketchup buy came with pickles and onions and tomatoes. meat was dry and full of garlic, salt and onion. like they are trying to hide bad meat. fries were over cooked.

Ordered through Doordash - prices were very good. Food was even better. We had the Toad Stool burger and sauces up chicken fingers. The burger tasted homemade and was very good. The chicken fingers were quite good as well. Will definitely sample some more items on the menu in the future.

Good food, love the chicken parm! Highly recommend it. Service was nice and friendly and no long waiting. Took the wife and kids they all enjoyed it. Our 1 year old is now a fan of onion rings.

Went here for supper to share a drink on the patio with our 19 year old finally. As always the food was amazing. The service was fabulous. Even with a small error it was handled well. Highly recommend for eat in or take out as well.

Best nachos we have ever had. Also ordered the drunken chicken sandwich which I couldnt eat as I was too full from splitting the nachos.

Loved the spinach dip. Friendly staff, nice clean restaurant. Good portion sizes. Overall really loved the restaurant. Kids menu a little deceiving could use some clarity as got charged for kids drinks separately when we ordered the kids meals but other then that we really enjoyed our experience. Nice little tucked away location.

Been going there for a long while for there famous chicken fingers arrived today to find they have changed to box frozen. We asked the waitress/bartender she says no longer make them they to long to make. So of course emailed them to insult me even more . He wrote to say for years we have the same care to make them. Nope Sisco boxed they were. Any way will never return we told so many people about those lovely chicken fingers. Now they too will not return.

Great menu & very, tasty food

One of the best burger s I have had in a long time. The fries were perfectly cooked and seasoned. The gravy was excellent. Everything is home made right down the the bun the burger was on. You won t taste food like this anywhere else. I will be back for sure. And to top it off the owner replies to every review. You can have a good chuckle while reading the reviews and eating the delicious food they make here. Sorry no photos it was to good to stop eating.

I haven t ate here tons of times, but I ve been a customer for 3-4 years now, I have never once been disappointed by their food or service. Today I decided to have their shepherds pie delivered, it had great presentation for a delivery meal and it s the best shepherds pie I ve ever ordered from anywhere. I ll be an ongoing customer for years to come I m sure, to meet it s one of the best places around.

Ordered from here last night. Nachos and hubby had fish and chips. Went and picked up our order 20 min later. The nachos were amazing! Some of the best Ive ever had. However my husband was less than impressed with his fish and chips. The fish was very small and not a heck of a lot of fries. We will totally go back and keep trying out the menu.

This was my first time ordering from here, and I am very happy I did! All the food was hot, fresh, cooked perfectly and of good portion. I will order from here again in the future and look forward to dining in as the pandemic settles.

Picked up wings and a poutine, wings were excellent, meaty and crispy. The poutine was on point. Price was a bit high thats why I gave it 4 stars. For 3 lbs of wings and a poutine it was over $50 for take out. Will definetly order from here again.

Ordered in some stuffed chicken and veggies and mashed potatoes last night and the chicken was so over cooked at first I thought it was sliced potatoes. It was uneatable. Not sure how to post a picture needless to say I will not order agian waste of $29

Visited on the recommendation of others on a local Facebook community group. Our meal was delicious and the menu had some surprises that one wouldn t normally expect to see on a pub-style restaurant menu. We will return!

I live about 30 seconds away and Ive been here quite a few times. When I came yesterday I had an epiphany... why havent I been coming here more often. To add to that I found out they got a swinging take out deal. $20 2lbs of wings fries and two tall boys. Amazing
