Sherry's Diner in Oshawa

French toast is not fully cooked, misplaced my ear pods and she starts yelling at me when I asked if she has seen them as find my app says they are here. She goes off saying I am accusing her of stealing infront of customers. I asked her to calm down but she ranted. Bad customer service

We came here on a whim and thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast. For two adults and a child our bill was only $35 which was a completely reasonable price. Definitely will be back to try more on the menue

Place was relatively packed, but I got my order very promptly for take out. Great taste. A little on the small side, but everywhere is giving you less these days.

Came in with my wife I ended up getting the egg special and when I got my there were hair in my home fries they should be wearing hair nets in here not happy

Do not sit by the window! We thought we were lucky to find that seat unoccupied and later realised it was free because you are constantly forgotten. It took us about 15 minutes to order, and like 30 minutes more to get our food (people that arrived after us, but sat away from the window were served first). The place is actually very nice, but when food arrived (and oh boy, we were hungry!! We would eat anything by now), it was a great disappointment... No flavour... I wondered if they cooked scrambled eggs and then froze them in batches just to be reheated before serving because they tasted like that. My kids chicken fingers definitively went through that process. Cups of coffee are rather small, so I finished my coffee as I was starting to eat my food, but the lady with coffees only came to fill my cup as I was paying Lastly, it took like 20 more minutes to get my bill. I asked (every time I was able to make eye contact with our waiter or she passed by) FOUR times for it, and every time she would smile to me and would say she would come to our table shortly, but 5 minutes later I had to remind her again and well... 20 minutes later, I finally received my bill. We travelled to Markham (from Ottawa) for a hockey tournament and were hoping to eat something homier, but I would rather eat at a McDonalds than at this place again.

These ladies are awesome. My go to every weekend. Home fries best seasoning. Try out their eggs florentine (pic). You must try it out Vegetarian options: Vegetarian omelette, Egg and toast, and many others Parking: It is in a mall with all the parking around available. Never saw it full

It is about as close to an old school diner that you can get... breaky, lunch then Sherry closes to rest for the next day.. Food and prices are great.

Only one refill on coffee is the limit and cups are quite small. Just ridiculous! The only restaurant we have ever been to that does this. It is a real turn off and very disappointing. Dont expect a Smile or even a Hello when being serviced. It was our first time there with a party of 5. We will never be back!

Great service and love the breakfast

Always good food here, prices have risen but that s expected with the economy. The restaurant itself is dated aside from the theme which is cute, and could use a good deep clean. The staff there isn t overly personable, but the food is great and since the staff don t really talk to you it s not the biggest deal. Parking: Lots of space!

My family and I have been enjoying this lovely spot for over 10 years. Even now that we have moved further away this is our favourite place to go. Because each time the menu is dependable, the food perfectly cooked and piping hot. And I love the feeling of being a regular. Highly recommend

This place is amazing and affordable. My family and I really enjoy coming here as much as we can for breakfast, we always order the same its just so delicious. If youre looking for fancy, this is not the place. Kid-friendliness: They have a menu for kids, and its a good size. My daughter loves it.

Grilled cheese and fries. One lousy peice of processed cheese. Tasted like grilled bread not a grilled cheese. Talk about cheap and cutting corners. Fries. Overcooked and they had brown spots on them and inside them, probably why they overcooked them. Looked like rotten moldy fries. 2 fries and it was into the garbage. Disgraceful, wont be going back. Save your money people and go anywhere else!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Incredibly slow and terrible service. About 4 parties seated after our group got their orders before us. Food is mediocre, better off going to else where.

Went to Crepe Castle for Mothers Day, and there was a 3 hour wait. So forget that, and went to Sherrys instead. Breakfast was good and the service very friendly. They had a choice of home fries, real fried potatoes, baked beans or a fruit cup with fresh fruit as a side. I especially liked the Texas toast. Next year, I wont be bothering with Crepe Castle.

Went here with my two year old son to meet a friend who had just had a baby. My son and I arrived first, I grabbed a booth and was working on messaging my friend to let her know we had arrived, as well as getting my son situated. The waitress came almost immediately and told me my sons shoes needed to come off because they just replaced the booth coverings. He was sin the booth with me because he doesnt sit in a high chair anymore. I felt this was really unsanitary but in an effort to just get through the lunch without my son having a meltdown, I did. Not two minutes later she returned to take our drink order. I requested a water and a chocolate milk for my son. She responded with are you sure you want to give your son that this early. It was 11:15am. He and I were having a mom and son day.. I was doing something special for him. I confirmed, yes I want a chocolate milk. When it came to my food order, I asked for a grilled cheese and fries for my son and a western sandwich with a side salad for me. Everything came, expect for my side salad. Waitress was more focused on my friend who is a regular there. Based on my experience, I would say this restaurant is not family friendly, felt judged for what I wanted to feed my child, etc. Food was mediocre at best, no seasoning on literally anything. My family and I will never be back.

I frequent Sherrys diner 3-4 times a month. It is our go to breakfast place. Very reasonable prices, great food and speedy service. Plus, their coffee is delicious.

Waited 1/2 hr for service. We werent even offered coffee. Only one wait staff on duty on a Sunday morning. Not the servers fault but we decided to leave as she was run off her feet.

The google rating is not even remotely representative of the quality of this establishment. I ordered the Big Breakfast menu item, but all I was served was a big disappointment. Here are some notable things you should know: 1. The scrambled eggs tasted as if they came out of a carton. They had this bad, synthetic taste to them. Moreover, there wasn t a drop of seasoning on them. Not even a dash of salt or pepper. 2. The fried potatoes that came with the dish were certainly not fried. Another review indicated they were bland lukewarm boiled potatoes and I couldn t agree more. No seasoning either. 3. The pancakes weren t cooked fully. You would expect to receive some nice, fluffy pancakes but instead the pancakes internally were runny. 4. The bacon was probably the lowest quality on the market. I couldn t even finish one piece. 5. The sausages and ham were similarly of poor quality. Moreover, the ham was absolutely covered in grease. 6. They couldn t even be bothered to splurge and get Heinz ketchup. Instead, it s the budget kind that just doesn t taste as good. 7. The one saving grace was the rye toast with butter. It s pretty hard to mess up toast with butter and I ll give them credit where credit is due. All in all, it was the worst breakfast I ve ever had. There was no seasoning on anything. I would not go back and I would not recommend this establishment to anyone. I think it is criminal this place has a 4.3 star rating.

Went for the first time today. Good eats and friendly staff. Decent!

Staff I called was accommodating (thanks) but the owner seems to be domineering. Spoke to the owner to try and book our staff party and she yelled at me through the entire conversation for even considering her restaurant. And when I suggested that they include that they dont take big parties on their website, she told me how rude I was and hung up on me - banging the phone. I didnt think making a suggestion was rude after being yelled at lol. Terrible service and dont ever consider this place. I could tell her staff is not very impressed with her either.

The staff here are friendly and welcoming! The atmosphere is peaceful; as someone who can get overwhelmed in a busy loud restaurant, this place was definitely a great choice! The food was fantastic, and portion sizes are perfect (no too big not too small)! They also offer a kids menu and wide variety of breakfast meals, and side dishes! Definitely recommend this diner!

Love this place, havent been since covid cause ya Im one of those ppl lol.. but use to visit this restaurant years ago when I was allowed and now things are getting back to normal this was my first time dining in a restaurant. Covid has changed a lot of restaurants. I still enjoyed coming back here good food and great service. Sherry still remembers me also lol. Got my usually peameal bacon, 3 eggs, deep fries and rye toast. A bit more than back in the day but every restaurant and services prices have gone up. Its exactly what youd expect.

Terrible service. I ve never seen someone so uninterested. Sorry I didn t order a big meal, all I got was fries and toast. Even still super rude. Potatoes were barely cooked, toast was cold. She dropped my utensils on the ground and refused to bring me another set. Did not ask if I wanted a drink, so I had to bother her if I could have a water and she was not happy. Now to see how much this ends up costing me. Go somewhere else.

Was here for the first time with my son. A busy little place and for good reason. The food and service was excellent. We each had a big breakfast which consisted of three eggs, two bacon, two ham, two sausages, two french toast and two slices of regular toast and home fries along with bottomless coffee. A good value for the money spent. Neither of us left hungary. Parking: Lots of strip mall parking

Sometimes the food is cold but no fault of the restaurants! Its still my favorite breakfast place! Prices are amazing as well. Cant be $5.50 for eggs, choice of meat and choice of second side!

Great value for a good meal. Sherrys Diner has been running for about 8 years now and this is, unfortunately, the first time I have had the pleasure of a meal. The service wasnt the fastest, as to took about 10 minutes to take my order but since it was a full house and only three wait staff I could deal with the wait. I did not get the name of our server as no one wore name tags, but I noticed that all three ladies were giving everything they had to be fast but still gave a smile to everyone and were extremely pleasant. They only had one line cook in the open air kitchen, but he was very efficient. When the food came it was great portions for my wife and I. We both had the breakfast special which is less than $6, but it was enough to satisfy us. I wish I knew about this eatery before, it was a nice experience and the people were in good moods but the food was well worth going back. Very well done, I do not like to report bad experiences so when I get a chance to review a good restaurant it is a pleasure.

My friend and I went this morning and although it was quite busy we were sat and served quickly by Anne our server, she was wonderful. The food was served quickly for being so busy and it was excellent for both of us. Great diner, very good food and great service, well be back soon.

They have new owners and the food is horrible We had to wait for the menu like 15 min and the waitress returned after another 15 min We order and the food was cold the ham and sausages were very bad quality and they were burned. Then the pancakes were not cooked properly and they were so flat, I returned them and they try to cook them more when she brought the same ones were super toasted. I returned again with another waitress and she gave me new ones also raw. Not going back ever again. Horrible experience and so expensive now.

Owner is mean! Treats people badly. I never want to come here again. The staff maybe good, but the owner got cross with me because I wanted to return uncooked potatoes. I was treated like sh*t after that and I never got a decent home-fry, as she brought me MORE raw potatoes!

Owner stayed in her phone rather than attend the customers and she was the only server! I asked for tea, was not even asked what flavour and was served orange pekoe. Table was covered in crumbs and coffee stains and menus were just dropped on it. Seats had crumbs everywhere. Waited forever for the bill and we had to get up and ask for it. Bathroom was very clean but no hook or shelf to put your purse, diaper bag, jacket, or such...even during covid. Portions are good, price is good....so 2 stars.

Ive been going here for years. Every now and then I think about trying a new place, but then I come to my senses.

If I m gonna spend $8.50 (before tax) for three eggs, bacon, home fries, and toast, I would expect some half decent bacon rather than shrivelled up strips and home fries that were a little more than boiled potatoes. So many better places in town for breakfast.

Really nice place for brunch. I had the Greek omelette and it was delicious. Highly recommend visiting!

Certainly not the best breakfast... Ill start with the good, the bacon and eggs were cooked perfectly. Potatoes were hard, witha couple exceptions... service was awful, completely cold and uncaring. Our ice water was luke warm with a single ice cube. Chances of returning are very slim , mostly due to poor service.
