Bang Bang Burrito in Oshawa

have been coming here for what over 10 years ?? loved this place until my last two visits. i entered the place 30 mins before closing when the gentlemen had told me they are already closed, i told them i had ordered through ubereats app 15mins ago and they said they cancelled my order because they did not have what i wanted in inventory... smelled like bull, but i had no choice to accept it. had a chat with management a day later about my experience and they agreed it was bull. fast forward a couple of months to last night, i made sure to get there earlier. ordered my burrito, gentleman with the beard made it for me, all is well. came home to eat and was not able to finish half of it because of a hair in my burrito. made me want to puke. unbelievable. genuinely upsetting because i loved this place.

My personal favorite burrito spot. Their ingredients are just so good I dont know why but it just tastes so much better to me than anywhere else

I expected something like bar burrito, burrito boyz or even fat b@stard. However, this was the nastiest quesadilla and burrito I ate in the GTA. Even taco bell is 20x better. Everything had a burnt oil taste to it and just was gross with a nasty aftertaste. Nothing authentic or Mexican there. The salsa tastes like it came out of a can. Random chunks of guacamole in the burrito then areas completely missed. The meat smells funky and tastes weird. I can make better food at home and I barely cook.

The food was horrible. I don t even know where to start. The rice was hard, the beans weren t cooked- or seasoned- or even refried. All of the vegetables were pickled/canned. The onions, jalapeños and pineapples. They also had edamame as an option? The lettuce was turning red (bc they left it out for too long) and it was wilted. The corn was burned. The salsas, the red salsa was TOMATO PASTE. the guacamole was just chunks of avocado. The pico de gallo was just water with onion. Respectfully, I m never coming back here again, and don t waste your money.

First time going here, and I will definitely be back. The manager is extremely kind, and youll have great conversations while you wait for your food. Food was delicious, didnt see nachos on the menu though they made nachos with toppings of my choice. By far the best thing was simply the customer service, the manager is the best!

Came in here for the first time with a friend. Hands down the best burrito I ve ever had in Durham, the meat was tender and flavourful, all the vegetables tasted fresh and well kept, the restaurant was very clean and tidy. Our server Alex was very passionate about his burrito making, and the restaurant he worked for. Easily some of the best food service I ve received bro needs a raise.

Bang Bang burrito hands down makes the best burritos I have ever had. EXTREMELY FRESH INGREDIENTS. Every single time I am in Oshawa I will stop and and grab one, occasionally even making the trip just for a burrito. The staff is friendly and approachable always willing to help and answer any questions. They are also very knowledgeable about what ingredients are in their food in case of allergies. I highly recommend getting the chips side as they are fried fresh to order and perfectly salted. If more than 5 stars was possible I would give more.

I was excited to try the burritos from here. Unfortunately I was left disappointed, the service was great. The food not so much my fillings were scraped from the bottom of each container everything looked liked it had been sitting all day . The burrito itself wasnt balanced all the ingredients layed at the bottom mostly rice and beans.

3 stars is for for burritos - this place used to be SO good but the new owners have changed a lot of things. Closed on Sundays but online it states their open. The onions and tomatoes in the pico de gallo are WAY too big now as well it ruins the burrito.

I had a regular Chorizo burrito. I must say this was one of the best burritos I have ever had. You have to be gentle with it though, because if you dont, its going everywhere. They say, if the burrito doesnt make a mess, then was it worth having in the first place. All ingredients were fresh and tasty and this was packed with flavor. Wish it was closer to home.. actually maybe its better that it isnt because I would gain an easy 100lbs from eating here everyday. I guess it will be a definite stop when Im in the area. Great service here too!

It had been a bit since I d gone into Bang Bang Burrito for some food, after ownership had changed hands yet again. The ingredients seem to be of varying quality now depending on both time of day & how they re prepared. The braised beef in my burrito bowl definitely tastes like it was cooked a while ago with how tough it is to chew. The chips taste as if they re on the verge of being stale. But the veggies seem to be fresh, as does the rice. However, I definitely noticed that my portion size was mediocre at best. My server, while friendly & making casual conversation, literally scooped out a chunk of rice he had added to my bowl back into the dish. You used to get two scoops of meat with a regular bowl. Todays? Just the one. While still tasty & probably filling, I m giving BBB a mixed review for today. Even with a 15% student discount, I get the increased prices. However, you gotta provide a fair quality & quantity. I feel short changed on each.

The best food ever. Update: 4 years later, I ve moved across the continent and I always visit Bang Bangs every time I go to Toronto. They changed ownership a couple years ago and got rid of some of the atmosphere in the interest of cleanliness, and their poutine quality has gone downhill since then. But I ve literally flown a plane into Oshawa Exec Airport and took an uber here to have a late night massive burrito. 10/10 worth it. Imo, it beats even Bay Area burritos.

A Nightmarish Encounter with a Burrito Disaster! I recently had the unfortunate experience of dining at what can only be described as the Bermuda Triangle of burrito joints. My taste buds are still traumatized by the horror show that unfolded. If I could use negative stars, I would. The burrito I received can only be described as a crime against gastronomy. The rice were undercooked and almost raw, tough to chew. Topping tasted (and looked) stale. The filling (sweet potatoes) was a sad excuse for ingredients. The only redeeming quality of this disaster was the service and friendliness of the staff. In conclusion, if you have any regard for your taste buds, sanity, and overall well-being, run, dont walk, away from this burrito nightmare. Ive had better meals from the frozen food section of a discount grocery store.

I don t know who is lying on these reviews. This place does not even deserve a 1 star. Ordered the burrito bowl and burrito on Uber eats and here are all the issues: 1) the food was freezing, literally tasted like it had just come out of the fridge 2) the refried beans were literally hard beans that appeared to be out of a can not even cooked 3) the meat was tough and over cooked 4) the ingredients were not fresh what so ever, and looked old like a mush 5) a majority of the rice was uncooked and hard as a rock actually hurt my tooth Please close down or fix ur shi* this is gross I ve messaged Uber and reported this as a food quality issue. If you cannot even cook rice, how do I know the meat is not raw also.

Ordered through door dash and wish I didnt. They ran out of supplies for my quesadilla so I didnt get that so I got refunded, the rice in my burrito was undercooked, the guacamole was just mashed avocado with lime juice and the churro was dry and wasnt crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside it was just dry crunch. I got the wrong sauce. I asked for caramel and got chocolate. I wouldnt order from this place again.

Food was really gross. The steak had burnt ends on it it fell apart and was soggy. The staff made it very aware that they did not want to be there. I definitely won t be going back

Feb 17th 2022 . Probably the worst burrito I have ever eaten. It had no flavor at all. The pico de gallo was no better. I spent half my life in Texas so I know what a good one tastes like..this wasnt it.

Pulled pork is not pulled pork. It s very fine and has really no flavour. I also find it very gammy and just tastes like someone chewed it and put it back and reheated it. I will say though, that I find there churros to be one of the best around. It s flaky and has that spring/sponginess that a churro should have(good price as well). I also love the strawberry sauce option which is VERY rare to find as a sauce. Don t order VIA uber eats. Biggest mistake. Everytime I ordered something always went wrong. Also, if you re going to add on a sauce, ALWAYS call in and make sure they add the extra sauce you paid for. They will not add it if you don t ask them. They claim they didn t see it but how many times could you not see it? There quesadillas are the only worth-while dinner choice. They really pack it in & I can appreciate the unlimited toppings which is why I opted for a 3-star review. It s also something I can save and eat for later while the burritos are so packed and thick it gets soggy quick (just a personal observation for my other pregnant, mexican food loving women )

Best burritos on the planet, in my opinion. Youve got to try the apple slaw and the pineapple salsa in your meal - outstanding! I love the pay once - toppings free approach as opposed to paying for every extra like most places (including guac!). Beware - these are HUGE! (I love enjoying my burrito for two meals!)

First time eating here, and it was definitely somewhere Im looking forward to eating at again. A bit pricey, but the massive was quite worthy of its name.

The chicken was so bland and tasteless.. it almost look like food I would feed my dog. This is my second time going and definitely my last.

Im sitting here wondering how the heck did this place get 4.4 stars? I went to this restaurant craving burritos and my favorite spot Bar Burrito was closed. The staff was very nice here but I was not ready for the complete Disappointment that this burrito would be! This restaurant is SERIOUSLY OVER PRICED!!! And their burritos are the worst I have ever had. And I mean that with all honesty. After paying close to $40 for 2 regular sized meat burritos (alone) one chicken and one pulled pork, I was so utterly let down. The rice was HARD and there was ZERO flavor save for the hot sauce!! I mean like absolutely no seasoning!! Not even cilantro! The chicken tasted like canned Tuna! The pulled pork was dry with no taste either. Goodness! how can these people call this a burrito? Whats worse, I got the pineapple salsa it was literally huge chunks of pineapple, and that was it!! Even the toppings didnt save these tasteless wraps We couldnt even finish these burritos. It seriously hurt me to spend so much and be so completely let down. What a rip off. Save your money and time this place needs to rework their menu!! HORRIBLE FOOD!!

Ive been here many times with no issues. This time my burrito was burnt, not wrapped properly, and the guy who wrapped it did the sleeve inside out. Meet was chewy, rice was hard. Super dissapointed.

I dont understand how this has 4.4 stars. Over priced. Dirty. 15 minutes to make a burrito. The best part was seeing the panini press sprayed with Canola oil. Its covered in burnt oil and thats all I could taste. For the price total rip off.

Honestly I m disappointed. $17 for a half box veggie poutine. Ingredients like jalapeños did not look appealing in the containers they were kept in. Fries were soft and not crispy. One thing I will give them is the sauce is actually spicy(which is what I preferred). Then after I waited about 10-15 mins for my poutine because there is only one employee working poor employee had to run it on her own, they realized that they were out of gravy. When I went to eat the poutine the cheese curds were cold and hard because the gravy wasn t there to melt it. Honestly I feel like that was the biggest rip off. A poutine with no gravy? Salsa tomato pieces were huge and not smushed properly.

Great place to catch a quick late night bite. Only downside is that Its a bit expensive, however the quality of ingredients is a positive. I always get the fried fish burrito everytime I come here and it doesnt disapoint. Its flavorfully, filling and also has unique taste due to the unique ingredients available. One this to watch out for, at times is if the staff dont fully drain the toppings once putting them on. Make sure you let them know in advance to do that. Also, I like how they have an alumni discount, this is super helpful. Again love this place and will continue to come back here for more.

Saturday 6pm..made the mistake of trying to get a burrito..ran out of chicken, no chorizo, pico was solid onion, no quac, sour cream was milk consistency, grill was caked in slimy black charcoal and looked like it hadnt been cleaned in weeks! This is NOT the bang bang it used to be

This is probably be favourite burrito place. I cant get enough of the braised beef, but can also vouch for the chorizo, chicken, and sweet potatoes. The house-made toppings add so much flavour, and the selection is different from anywhere else (grilled corn, apple slaw, pineapple salsa). The burritos are messy, but the flavours are on point.

Huge disappointment! We were regulars, but will not be returning. We ended up with soggy, cold meat burritos. I thought maybe the new owners growing pains but this was a while ago and I see from other reviews it has not changed. They did offer me a free one when I called them about the stone cold meat...and we live across the street so it had nothing to do with time. They dont drain the meat, beans or anything properly. Really sad, the previous owner had this place dialed in, staff was awesome and the food, new owners not even close. I woul not recommend.

Im a regular customer and Ive never been disappointed with the quality. Recently I ordered a few times in the same week and today I wanted to try a new mix of toppings. I trusted Nathaniel with the unique combination and besides being funny and entertaining throughout the entire process, the burrito itself was a Banger. It was such an exceptional service overall and definitely a motivator to trust in well-trained staff like Nathaniel again! tldr: Always had great service but Nathaniel took it above and beyond my already high expectations.

This is by far the nastiest burrito bowl ive ever had in my life. The chicken Tinga didnt have any flavor whatsoever, the guac was rotten , salsa-nasty, corn- nasty, the apple cabbage thing- nasty, refined beans- okay. I called to let them know and all I got was sorry about that not even let us make it right.. from since the first set of people that work there left its been going down hill their braise beef always taste burnt now and it wasnt like that when I first started going there. Dont think Ill be hyping them up and recommended anyone to go there anymore.

I ve tried churros from different places and was initially skeptical but WOW!! The churros are a good portion for the price given!! Highly recommend you try! Definitely going back for the churros again!!!!

Dont bother getting burritos anywhere else. This place makes you hate anything else. 2021 update: I hate to come back and edit this but unfortunately the last handful of times visiting the restaurant Ive been dissatisfied. Kind of disappointed because I loved taking new people here claiming it was the burrito gem of Durham. Hopefully one day in the future I can revisit this review and eat these words. I miss having a great burrito.

They dont like people who have lung cancer! Wouldnt it be ironic if they themselves develop lung cancer later in life and then came across people who refuse to do business with them!!

Worst burrito place ever. Burritos taste very plain and have no flavour and are disgusting. The burritos was bad and I couldn t even finish half of it. One of the ladies making the burritos looked miserable and acted like she didn t wanna be there. If the burritos was cheap then it wouldn t be a big problem but this place charges more than $15 for one burrito wrap which is ridiculous as most burritos don t cost more then $8. Don t even know why this place even has good reviews.

my go to mexican food place, great quality food and good portion sizes, my favourite thing to get is their quesadillas but I havent had anything from here that I havent loved!

Burrito bowl + meat is an amazing combo. Very delicious. Do note it s 16 + tax. Worth the price imo if you put everything on it.

By far the worst experience Ive had to date from this place. Ive Ive eating here for years and Im extremely disappointed with the service. I went in to get a deep fried cheesecake and I waited 30 minutes!. That wasnt even the most angering thing. What angered me was the ginger haired girl that was working didnt have the decency to provide an update that my cheesecake would take a while to make. Ive ordered this item plenty of times to know it doesnt take 30 minutes and 3 workers to put my cheesecake together . I do not recommend the gentlemen she was training take any tips from her because her customer service is terrible.

Couldnt decide between a burrito or a burrito bowl. got a massive burrito that was so juicy it fell apart halfway through and became a burrito bowl. Excellent work I got exactly what I wanted. 10stars out of 5!

Amazing. Best burritos I have ever had. (Edit) Place has changed owners since the time of my original review (original was 5 stars). Food prices went up, and no longer includes tax in menu prices. For what was a smaller burrito yesterday. Both women serving were very stingy with the toppings and I had to ask for more multiple times. No longer worth the price in my opinion.

Been going here for years, service and food was on point every time. Recently not sure what is going on but steak was burn, red onions not chopped, the list goes on . just lacking in flavour. I think it s time to look elsewhere.

What s happened to this place in the past few weeks???They had such wonderful service and amazing portion sizes up until recently. I m very disappointed. This REG size wrap was the same size as the Small Pita Pit wrap and definitely not worth the $15. I also called a number of times today to complain but nobody picked:/

High quality food, done right!

I ordered from here on Uber eats and was highly disappointed the there was a whole onion bottom in my steak bowl. The steak was not chopped up instead there where just 2 large pieces of steak on tip of my food.

Sadly the few times I have visited since the change in ownership I have not seen any improvements in both customer service or the food, which is a disappointment as BBB was my favourite burrito joint as the value used to be there, but that is no longer the case. Makes me kind of glad I never ended up going to get one of their logos or slogan tattooed on me like so many other regulars did with the rather creative marketing campaign they had saw many do it for the free weekly burrito for a year. Suppose the only saving grace the new owners may have is their location being next to the college/university means intoxicated students wont really care about the lower standards. Such a pity as the original owner had built a business with impeccable service and food.

Used to be a 5 star place but personable people left, price hiked (covid) and followed by a drop in consistency. Thanks for the pound of rice and fork full of braised beef in my bowl. Go here if you re vegetarian and even then... sad to see chains competing against bang bang now this place was legendary

Initially it was awesome, beyond five star, but the new staff and services are worst than third class, staff is so so rude and they dont know how to manage, handle and respect customers. They have dramatic price hike and food quality and quantity in the same way reduces, day by day whenever I go their their performance is depleting.

This kinda breaks my heart to write but this whole situation has gotten out of control. We used to come to this place frequently. Love their friendly service and food. Yesterday we went for the first time after the mandatory mask mandate and they denied me entrance and did not accept my medical exception that the bylaw for Durham procedures clearly indicate. Its terrible to see this establishment that we loved discriminate against my disability. We will now be going somewhere else. After being denied we went 2 blocks away to another food shop who served us gladly without even bringing up the mask issue. Bang Bang: You are harming more people by denying them than you are if you would let them into your establishment. Keep in mind this virus has a 99.97% survival rate.

Used to come here very often but since lately the food quality has reduced and the prices have increased too much. A regular chicken burrito is 15$ which I think is insane for the size.

Food here is amazing, spiciest sauces (Scorpion lava sauce) of any burrito place Ive ever been to. I go here all the time, the staff always makes you laugh. Very down to earth staff, no dietary l sugar coating whatsoever. Freshest veggies, fresh meat, and fresh tortillas. A little pricy, but you pay for the best. Get the massive, its the size of a little baby (quite literally).

Awesome staff and awesome food. Try the pineapple salsa.

A good place overall. The food I got was decent tasting. The staff though are very good at there job and are interactive.

Nice service unfortunately it was a $50, 3 cold and soggy burritos with toppings balled up in different areas kinda experience....maybe go on a weekday

So, we finally tried tonight. I ordered a small burrito with braised beef, apple slaw, pineapple salsa, beans and rice. The burrito was cold, the beef was good but waaay too much for me. No apple slaw. Soggy burrito. We had to warm them up a few times at home. I feel like if we pay for takeout, why are we cooking it at home? I cant say anything about the service because I wasnt there. But my husband says it was great. The food wasnt terrible, but I wont go back for more.

Staff here have always been awesome. All the in house toppings and meats are great. Braised beef is awesome. Plus hot sauces for any spice lovers, also made in house. Finishing a massive feels like an achievement.
