Smoke's Poutinerie Oshawa in Oshawa

I ordered a traditional poutine and some fried cheese curds. The Traditional poutine had literally zero gravy in it. The Fried cheese curds smelled like a wet dog being out in the rain too long. Ive ordered here before and never had such a bad experience as I did tonite. Whoever made my poutine and fried cheese curds needs to be fired. This is unacceptable. Not to mention I paid $30 for everything and they couldnt even fill my cheese curds to the top of the bowl. I was refused a refund and im very annoyed..

Poutine tasted off and barley had any gravy or curds

I ordered from this location yesterday and was absolutely appalled. The poutine was inedible. Fries if you could say that s what they were, tasted like cardboard. The cheese was unmelted and rubbery. Considering you re paying $15 dollars a poutine it is robbery.

I have gotten poutines from here before they are great, last week however I purchased one and the chicken was hard and stale tasting the fries as well when I inquired about this I was told I would get replacement and then when I went to get my replacement they said I wasn t on the list, when I asked to speak to manager I was told they were busy I tried calling several times and no manager to speak to, this is very disappointing enough to not even go back there this location is poorly managed employees need to be more educated on the value of customers and products.

Terrible quality - ordered deep fried pickles. There weren t any pickles but batter. The poutine was cold and so were the cheese curds. Really disappointed. They weren t even busy - so no excuse for the food to be cold.

Hi, i had an absolutely horrible experience at the oshawa King st location around 12:00 am on August 11th, 2024. We ordered two big crunchies & a traditional poutine. when the sandwich came out the bun was freezing cold like it was still frozen, & when i bit into the sandwich is was COMPLETELY RAW. when we talked to the guy at the counter he brushed it off like it wasn t anything serious, & when we said people can die from that he shrugged his shoulders & all he said was sorry. we asked for a refund for both sandwiches as the second made us concerned to eat anything at all considering they are okay with selling raw chicken. he finally agreed to giving us a refund but refused to give one for the entire meal as he said the poutine was fine. The meal order total was $40.07, & he gave us a $20 bill for the two sandwiches, which i don t think is right considering tax, but we just took it & decided not to argue any longer as it was very late. We ended up hanging around talking with friends, & they kicked us out at 1:45 & claimed they were closed, meanwhile the website says they closed at 4am. I think this whole ordeal was absolutely ridiculous. Selling raw chicken is life threatening & not a joke & he didn t care. Edit in response: it was on saturday night, however because it was 12 am, that means it was august 11th. which means yes they kicked us out 2 hours early. it was not sunday. & for the chicken. the batter on one side was still completely raw. they are clearly not checking the temperature on every piece as every piece varies in size, which means different cooking times. from this response, im hearing a lot of excuses & not a lot of responsibility.

asked for a large poutine and still was charged for a small one hadn t been here before so i wasn t familiar with the prices so i didn t think anything of it. i cannot stress enough how many times i asked for a large poutine. was ordering on behalf of two people sharing who both were standing in front of the cashier and even still he punched in a small so now one poutine will be cold while a second is being made to make up for the error/lack of good service

We went to eat a large pulled pork poutine, which we shared because its like a quick snack. Its delicious, the service is fast. The food is tasty and stays warm. At this Oshawa location, its generally not crowded. Theres plenty of space to eat on-site.

Customer Service (girl cashier) was great, but I did see two guys just standing and talking in the back... May have been the owner/franchisee. Either way, they could have taken the time to help the girl out with the till so that the customers didnt have to wait as long - from a customers perspective, its always frustrating to be waiting while seeing people available in the kitchen. Gravy was good, but the fries themselves were soggy and the toppings were ok at best.

Funky little place to dine in or carry out. Huge selection of poutine, something for everyone. Also got the perogy side, which consists of 3 dumplings and a TON of sour cream, bacon, and carmelized onions. Poutine entree definitely feeds two, I can t image how big the large size is! Everything was freshly made and tasty. Gravy has some great herbal flavor to it. Truly a family business here.

We had a great experience at Smokes. We were greeted by the staff who offered suggestions based on what we wanted to order. My order was very packed with toppings and I was filled half way through. Hena was super helpful and patient while I asked far too many questions to decide my order. They were very positive and always smiling. When my girlfriend was a bit disappointed in her order Hena made her a replacement and turned around her experience! Vegetarian options: Veggie gravy is a great alternative and much tastier.

Told the guy, i wanted pulled pork poutine then when it rang up, showed chicken. Told em i only want the pulled pork, not chicken, then told me yes, i can have it as a side. Not sure if he was even listening but if I wasnt hungry I would have left.. There was Little to None pork with the pountine, wont be back.

The fries are okay when well done, gravy could be better. Thankfully, its cheese curds.. tiny location, difficult to get-into with a stroller, so Id imagine a wheelchair as well. Staff are nice, prices are a little high for a small-naked fries.. $7? Its a potato.. Wheelchair accessibility: Exceptionally narrow, I could see a small chair getting around with more so-ease but if its roughly the size of a double-stroller and cant really drift, good luck, no power doors either.

Went back to correct it and received a sprinkle of chicken and Buffalo sauce. Bathroom is disgusting- poop on the toilet seat, no top, soap not working. If I knew the cheese would be chunky and not melted I wouldnt have came. Picked up with lukewarm gravy. Drove 10min to hotel and had to heat it up again. Fries didnt taste fresh. No napkins provided ! Just the poutine and one fork. Try eating that on the go. I dont usually post bad reviews but there is a lot of room for improvement.

Is there a point of asking for the fries to be cooked a bit extra? Or is that to difficult for someone to comprehend? I feel like when I ask this my fries are undercooked. If I wanted mashed potatoes I wouldnt get poutine.

I ordered the butter chicken-less cauliflower poutine. The cheese curds taste like rubber, so much sauce and not enough fries- made everything soggy. But the worst part is that there was only 3 pieces of cauliflower in the whole meal. Disappointing and waste of $15 bucks.

Good customer service and my order was made within a couple minutes. Bought a Chicken Bacon Ranch Poutine. Poutine isnt the greatest. Curds were barely melted and really rubbery. Gravy was hot, but the fries were cold and old tasting. Too much ranch sauce. Barely any chicken. An okay amount of bacon was there, but they seem to add bacon bits too for some reason. 16.00 rounded up for a regular and it is not very big. Likely wont return because of the food.

I order poutine from this location regularly. I ordered after a while almost after a year...it was disappointing this time however not sure if anything changed like management etc. Ordered butter chicken less poutine and chicken inferno poutine. Former was lacking salt and fried cauliflower bits and cheese curds were hardly noticeable. Inferno chicken was good in taste however chicken pieces were not more then 2-3. I hope this to be a one off bad experience.

Ordered the pogos through uber eats for pickup. When picked up I tried them in the vehicle with my girlfriend. Both mine and hers were still cold and partially frozen. He remade the food after I went in. But the second time we didnt stay infront of the store while we ate them. Tried to eat them and they were still frozen and cold in the center even though outside was hot. At this point I didnt want to go back again for a 3time. Uber eats refunded me partially. Just wanted to give the heads up for others looking at the pogos

Smokey parked his truck on my street this summer on Hogan Crescent Bowmanville. I went to the community mailbox and noticed Smokey or helper had ripped down my neighbors poster of their lost beloved pet and replaced it with a smokes poutinerie flyer.

It was good the location is prime for the bar just up the street long hours open till 3 am enjoyed the food Iean its its poutine whats not to enjoy haha.
