From the team we hire to the food we make, it’s an experience influenced by the neighbourhoods we are from across the globe. From coast to coast we are inspired. We focus on quality food made with fresh ingredients served in a stylish, comfortable and casual environment.
Great Place, Nice Vibe, Good Food! I came in with my boyfriend on a busier day and was served by Jahleena. She went Above and beyond with her service. She made sure to constantly check up on us and made sure we had everything we needed. I don’t think there was ever a minute where we didn’t have drinks and there was never a time where we had to request to be checked on. seeing as the restaurant was packed that day her fast and reliable service was GREATLY appreciated. The chicken wings were amazing. Definitely recommend and WILL be returning. (Hopefully we get jahleena again)
We recently had a birthday celebration at Palm Court Restaurant, and the experience was fantastic! Jeremy was incredibly helpful throughout the planning process, making everything so easy and stress-free. The food was tasty, and the service was outstanding. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate our group, ensuring everyone had a great time. The cook even came out to sing to the birthday guest! We couldn't have asked for a better celebration, and we will definitely be back!
My girlfriend and I visited on a Friday evening around 9 pm. I no longer live in Oshawa, but have eaten here a few times and have always enjoyed the food. The service was not always the best, but the food is what always brought me back. My girlfriend lives in Oshawa and has also frequented this restaurant so we were both looking forward to the good food. Waitress was pleasant. It was a little cold inside the restaurant, so I asked for something hot to drink, they don’t serve hot drinks apparently, so she suggested soup. Great idea! We ordered the soup and told her that we would have the soup first. My girlfriend and I sat chatting and catching up and then we realized that quite a bit of time had passed, over half an hour and no sign of waitress or soup! She also had not taken our order yet! I summoned her over as she was behind the bar chatting with other customers. She apologized and then said she would check on the soup. We waited for another 10 or so minutes, still no sign of soup or waitress! We walked out and will not be returning!
I ordered the Pepper Chicken Wings (dry rub) and Chicken Fried Rice. I have included pictures. I think read\\Zhe reviews this location has good wings. They are well done (not burnt). I enjoyed the wings for sure. The Chicken Fried Rice is ok and it has a great portion but, I wasn't all in with enjoying it. Perhaps I should have bought fries instead. I would recommend the wings as I love my wings well done and the taste of this Pepper Wings I enjoyed. In this location there is a lot of parking as there are different stores. Be careful with driving it can be a bit confusing driving in finding stores you need and the drivers tend to be quite inpatient. I didn't dine in I ordered take out.
Staff were very friendly and attentive. Food was okay, nothing out of the ordinary. We ordered the lunch special chilli chicken and chicken chow mein, they were okay, not something we would come back for. We also ordered a double which was the highlight of the entire meal as it came out crispy and hot. If we were to come again it would be to grab a double for a snack.
Truly enjoyed the food here. The lemon pepper wings here are probably the best wings I've ever had, and the garlic dipping sauce with it just took it to another level. I will definitely return and tell my friends and family about this restaurant. Keep up the good work!!
Went here with some friends and had so many awesome dishes. The Lo Mein blew my mind and the lemon pepper wings I couldn’t get enough of either. The pepper lamb was so tender and flavourful, as was the curry goat. Service was impeccable as well. Overall just a really wonderful experience. I can’t wait to go back on a Friday or Saturday night for the Ladies night $5 cocktails. I looked at the drink menu and they all sound so delicious.
Visited this place a week ago. Spacious and clean and lots of seating area. You could actually go here with a group as it’s not a hole in the wall kind of place. A proper restaurant with service and ample car parking in the plaza and if that is full, you could park your car in the adjacent freshco parking lot. Great location. South of 407 and just right when you exit 407 and if that is not good enough it’s right at the Winchester and Simcoe. Winchester goes into become hwy 7 towards the west. Service is really good. Most of the time it’s one hostess in the mornings with others joining in towards evening from what I have observed. They are really accommodating and friendly and have a pleasant demeanour all the time. The food although not amongst the healthiest kind, it’s really tasty and you get that Hakka Caribbean experience leaning mostly towards the Caribbean side ( you should try the Jamaican beer with some good ok chicken wings). The house fried rice with jerk chicken on top is a killer in the best sense of way and the jerk chicken is one of the softest one would find. I like the fact that they go easy on salt in their food and If they are using MSG, you’d feel they are not heavy users of that as well. One recommendation though is to use slightly less oil but if that is going to compromise the taste then I take that back 😁. You won’t go here for healthy food but it’s clean, tasty, with good service and lots of space outside and inside and if you go here with your friends and family on a weekend or any other day of the week for that matter, you won’t regret it. Try it out and let me know what you guys think. It’s very close to where I live, so for sure I’m going back or ordering from them.
I love this place amazing food
One of my friends recommended this place about a year ago since I been going there for lunch special good food value for money last week they ran out of my favorite hot sauce little disappointed
The food is really good, but it is extremely overpriced..
Great place. Good food
OMG the pepper Lamb is Fantastic. yummy food super service.
Amazing food!
Sadly we didnt get to try the food. We pulled up at 10lm to get some food and the door was locked. The lady came from behind the door, opened it and told us the kitchen was closed. This should be stated on Google. We actually drove a distance for this.
Good food. Good service. Music too loud. Cant have a convo without shouting. The DJ should read the room.
Servers here are hit or miss. Theres like one or two good ones and the rest seem to have attitude. The food here can be really good but the prices are on the high side. Example most place lunch specials when you add fried rice the add on is usually 1.50 to 2 dollars. This place charges and extra 4 dollars.
The worthless place in GTA I ve never left negative reviews, but here just want to warn people to avoid this place.
Best Caribbean fried rice...
The food was ok. I went to try the Caribbean food but it is only on Thursday -Sunday. Will be going back on one of these days to try
Food always tastes good. I have bought food here many times and they are always consistent. Placed a last minute order for a large tray of fried rice & chicken and they were able to get it done quickly.
I bought food here yesterday, I got the chicken fried rice with chicken inside and fried chicken on top and they gave me burnt fried rice and dry chicken, I had to throw it away. Do not recommend!!
Absolutely amazing place with the best servers!!!!! Loved how friendly they are and food was amazing! Very good portion!!!! I would go back!!!!
Not terrible but dont order lamb or goat. They dont know how to cook it properly or at all. The lamb was slimey and the goat curry was all bone. The fried rice, lo mein etc. was good. To top it off, the servers are stush. Most West Indian restaurants dont pan out because they hire servers/bartenders etc. with a bad attitude.
Im giving this rating based on customer service. I have NEVER been to a restaurant that has such terrible customer service. The ladies that answer the phone and greet you up entering are so rude and monotone. No kind of happiness in their voices, as if they hate working. I have called multiple times and just how these females respond to my questions and inquiries I just say forget the order. PLEASE WORK ON THIS OR HIRE NEW, FRIENDLIER AND WELL-MANNERED STAFF. Just so upsetting because the kitchen staff is fantastic.
They make the best pepper shrimp. Whenever I need a pepper shrimp fix, I come here. Just the right amount of spice, never soggy, always fresh.
Great service and very tasty food. Our waitress was very friendly and helped suggest some great food. We will be back to try other items on the menu. BTW portions are large so bring your appetite!
Great place to eat! Everything on the menu is good. Food is very tasty and service is the best! Top it off with a nice friendly atmosphere.
The food here is really good. They have options you dont normally find in other West Indian restaurants. When you go you can expect to pay about $15 an item.
There are a lot of high top chairs and low top tables as well. Food was yummy, and I want to try more dishes. Kid-friendliness: There were kids in the establishment with families. Wheelchair accessibility: Has an accessible door, with wide entrance and door switch. Does not have booths.
Excellent food, service was good.
Amazing food and service. Highly recommend
The food was soooo good & a lot, i couldn t finish it in one go, I had to save some for later.
The portion is just ridiculous and they dont care when stating the food was burnt , the waiting staff at the counter is clearly unprofessional, and has no sense of reception , $16 You are better off with fine taste hakka or the zen Fine taste hakka $14 ( second photo)
Spacious place atmosphere to eat, talk and have some nice west Indian food. Must try the pepper shrimp.
Palm court lunch specials are the best. A variety of options for under $10 with tasty and generous portions sounds like a fantastic deal. Friendly service is always a plus when dining out.
The first time I drove by this place I thought it was a bakery by its name. It was closed and a winter storm, so I couldn t see the tables and chairs. I drove by again and I went in. I was greeted and I ordered a fried rice, the portion was great and the flavours were a party in your mouth! Today, another snow storm and I went in. This time I ordered the chicken chow mein, let me tell you, every bite had a piece of chicken and vegetables. You can taste the smokiness from their open flame wok and it just tasted like heaven. This is by far my new place to eat in Oshawa.
Kim is the best and she will go above and beyond to make your day
Great venue and wonderful service/staff
Amazing food and staff
Great service and amazing food a must try you wont regret it. Was lucky enough to have dinner here a few days ago. Ordered a variety of apps and entrées and every dish was amazing. From pepper shrimp to jerk fried rice to goat curry and wings....yum! Dishes were all well prepared, ingredients fresh and flavour had the perfect balance of spices(spicy but not too spicy). Service was also great. Fun place to hang out or a great spot for take out of Hakka Carribean style dishes. Will be back soon!
So for those who have kids or who are kids at heart will get this: In the animation movie Ratatouille, the food critic takes one bite and immediately is sent back in time to when he scrapped his knee, and mama made it all better with a bowl of Ratatouille. THAT is exactly what happened when I had the Saltfish and Bake this past Sunday. It has been such a long time that I have been so excited and thrilled with a restaurant, especially with the unique Guyanese flavours that I have not had in years, since my mama passed. 2 types of Black Pudding??? WHAT?? Yes for many, maybe I have been living under a rock, but to be in a restaurant, bright, spacious, clean environment, followed by old school soca music (I would have screamed if I heard King Turbo.... Listen, plenty food on my wifes plate for the Palm Court Special Fried Noodles. Nothing but the best service from owners, to waitress. Then to top off my lunch to meet the Guyanese Chinese Cook! Listen... you had me at I can have both Lamb and Beef Black Pudding? Thank you for putting a smile on all of our faces!
Been here a few times as the food is normally great. Greatly disappointed today though. I ordered takeout for Wet chilli chicken and received dry instead. Receipt clearly states Wet. I cannot stand dry chilli chicken. Not close enough to go back and have it corrected. Location was not busy when I went. Make sure you check your food when ordering takeout. It takes only one experience for me to not ever bother going again.
Shocked.. Food, perfect. Server, delightful(I didnt have much to tip on my take out order, but how appreciate the young lady was about $4 made my night). Atmosphere, very welcoming I will be back to sit in.
I went with my family for a Christmas dinner the food was great and the staff as well I would recommend this place to anyone who are look to eat out at a place away from home.
For the price food is honestly not the best you can get the same stuff at. A halal spot for half the price and taste way better these guys chefs recipe be always changing or some cuz the same time tastes different everytime do not recommend way to overpriced 25 for noodles is highway robbery
Great looking restaurant. Food is delicious. We LOVE their chili chicken and chicken lomein, highly recommended! Chili lamb was great as well along with their chicken fried rice and pepper shrimp. Portion sizes are very reasonable too. Its pricey but everything is pricey now. Happy to have a great west Indian restaurant in Durham!
Food vibe ans service all good
Very nice place food was awesome and the owner is a very nice person will be going there more with my family great service too
The food was fresh, flavourful, and just perfect! Excellent ambiance and the staff were great. Definitely recommend!
Would highly recommend if you are looking for an amazing spot in the east end. Food was great and reasonable priced and the staff was super friendly. Will definitely be going again!
Food was good, portion size was good as well, shared 4 dishes with 4 people and had leftovers
Be aware when ordering from this place. I ordered one pepper shrimp fried rice, one order of honey garlic wings, and one order of spring rolls. She told me the total was forty something dollars on the phone so when I arrived she told me there is a 10% discount for paying cash which made my order $37. She handed me back $2 but I had given her $50 in all 10s forgetting it was now $37. I arrived home to realize they didn t give me the fried rice and just pepper shrimps. So I had to call and drive all the way back. No apologies or consideration. I confronted her about not getting the right change. She proceeded to tell me I was wrong and she double counted. But so did I. She went to the till and showed me exactly what I handed her. Which was 5 $10 bills. She then realized it was $50 I had given her but she proceeded to lie. She told me this was her 10 from earlier. It s not about the money but it s principle this place will take your money and deny it. Upon giving me the wrong order she was extremely rude knowing she was wrong. She told me she would call me back in 30 minutes after counting the till. Or before closing at 8:30. Of course I didn t receive any phone call. And she knows she was wrong but doesn t want to admit it. What a shame. I will not be returning for this older lady s customer service is awful.
Vegetarian options: They have vegetarian options for pretty everything on the menu. Dietary restrictions: They have a full menu catered towards different eats. You wont be disapointed. Parking: Ample parking on site. Kid-friendliness: Family run restaurant in a friendly neighbourhood. Wheelchair accessibility: Fully accessible.
This place is amazing. Their service is great and the staff make you feel extremely welcomed as soon as you walk in! If youre in the area, I would highly recommend coming here to eat. I will be back very soon!
The black lady server with the long dreeds she was really unprofessional does not know how to serve paying customers with respect then lies. I will not Not step foot in that establishment again. SHAME ON YOU FOR TREATING ME WITH SO MUCH HATE
So glad we found palm court in Oshawa as frequent patron of tropical nights I was glad I could have a piece of Scarborough in my new home town! Food is great, and tasty every time! Service however could be a little better. Came here with a large group on Sunday and the waitress paid little to no attention to us. We sadly couldn t even get water. Luckily we had great company.
I kept a family member Birthday for the first time , and everyone had a good time , I recommended this place to all my friends and family Parking: There is lots off parking for everyone
Service is really slow but wings are delicious
Staff were extremely nice, food was not. Got here first waited almost an hour to get an order of jerk chicken while everyone around me was getting their 8 orders of food in 10 mins. And Vegetable chow mein was burnt.
This is our third time visiting as I LOVE the vibe they have and the wait staff are fantastic!! In past visits we have only ordered mixed drinks and wings...both of those are top notch. Tonight however they are off their game! We ordered 2lbs of wings, vegetable chow mein and an order of jerk chicken. The chow mein tasted and smelled burnt! All the food came out in approx 10-15 mins but we waited 50 minutes...50...for the jerk chicken and it did not taste like jerk at all, it had an unitdentifiable taste. Of my $100 total bill, the only real edible food was the wings!
Nice West Indian restaurant. Food was amazing and delicious . Went there for karaoke night with DJ Anil. Customer service was great. All tables were full, yet they put one up for us.
Fabulous restaurant! Amazing food! More then generous portions!
Love the food at this restaurant!! The food is always tasty, great portions, and nice service. We like dining in and take-out as well. This place is a real gem.
There fried rice is the best
Honestly this place has one of the best Caribbean dishes hands down!!
Would have loved to try the food. drove 30 mins to get here, but staff were too busy talking to each other to seat us. oh well
Beautiful spot, very clean. Food here is very tasty. Didnt realize same people as Tropical Nights. Food is similar, taste great. Bigger and newer.
Good food and large portion sizes!
We really enjoyed the food and the service here. I will definitely be returning.
Lousy
I wouldn t even give a single star. We have been sitting here for 2 hours and our order haven t even been processed yet. Absolutely disappointing. Waitresses were very friendly however and remorseful for our delay in service.
Don t come here if you re hungry
Best in durham
We visited this Palm Court today as we read the great reviews with our family and we were definitely not disappointed. We ordered the: Pepper shrimp - amazing Singapore noodles- amazing off lunch menu Chicken chow mein chicken on top - super delicious off lunch menu Curry duck with rice and dahl- it rocked authentic guyanese flavour Chili Chicken Wet - so yummy. General Tsao Chicken- absolutely rocked off lunch menu Phlourhi - totally homemade flavour Our waitress Keisha was amazing. The overall atmosphere was very welcoming and the service was excellent and the restaurant was spotless. The portions are huge. We will definitely we returning. Thank you Palm Court for a wonderful family lunch get together. Wheelchair accessibility: Disabled parking spot right in front of entrance and definitely wheelchair accessible
Wings, wings, wings, and more! If you like wings, youll have to visit Palm Court in north Oshawa. They offer twelve tasty flavours, with or without fries. Whether you like them saucy or dry, theyve got something for you! We had the Sweet Thai and Chili, and the Lemon Pepper wings. Both were delicious, even though I usually prefer dry rubs. The decision just got tougher! Palm Court offers 2 For 1 wings every Thursday (starting at 4pm)! In addition to great wings, their menu offers delicious Guyanese, and Caribbean style Chinese food, including delicious appetizers. We had quite a few apps to start our meal, including Doubles, Pholouri, Saltfish with Bakes, Calamari, and Chicken Fried Wontons. Doubles, if youre unfamiliar, is a type of sandwich, made with curried chickpeas (aka channa) between fried flatbread. Its simple and delicious! Pholouri is another popular treat thats basically a fried dough ball made with flour and ground split peas. Its often served with a mango or tamarind sauce for dipping. Saltfish and Bakes is one of my faves! The salted codfish is cooked down with tomatoes and served with fried dumplings, called bakes. Yummy! Fried Calamari is always a favourite. This version is lightly dusted and fried with spices, making it crispy and very flavourful. Chicken Fried Wontons, one of the many Asian items on the menu are crispy and delicious, also served with a dipping sauce. Although stuffed with great tasting appetizers, these are some of the main dishes that we enjoyed. Beef Lo Mein A generous serving of noodles with an even more generous serving of beef and vegetables. Palm Court Fried Rice with Jerk Chicken Theres no shortage of flavour with this fried rice, which includes chicken, beef, and shrimps. Its then topped with Jerk Chicken. Yummy! Goat Curry with Potato I love curry, especially the Caribbean styles. This goat curry, served with dhal and rice, speaks to my soul. Pepper Lamb This boneless lamb was very tender and delicious! We ordered the less spicy version. Oh, darn! We forgot to order dessert. Next time... They also serve lots of refreshing adult beverages. Treat yourself to some of this delicious food and relax with a nice drink! Besides the great tasting food, the service, provided by Keisha, was outstanding! She was truly a pro!
For my first time trying this place, I was not completely disappointed. I will be back to try more dishes. I had the Beef Lo Mein and Oxtail with Rice and Peas. Both were okay. Pricing was great. I would try this place again for other dishes. The oxtail dinner was not amazing but it was decent and we ate it all. The gravy just needed to be a bit thicker as it is way to watery. The beef Lo mein was good but I didn t love the look or taste of the beef itself.
Items I ordered for takeout was special shrimp fried rice with jerk chicken, phoulorie, Shanghai beef noodles, and pepper shrimp. Special shrimp fried rice with Jerk chicken was 10/10 - Absolutely amazing. My kids were like can we eat this for dinner everyday. They were generous with their shrimp Portion and the jerk chicken was cooked to perfection. The fried rice was delicious. The phoulorie was 10/10 but the tamarind sauce was so watery and did not taste good. Very disappointed. The Shanghai noodles, 6/10. The beef was very dry, I did read that in another review, but hubby wanted beef so I thought I d give it a shot and I was disappointed and the noodles lacked flavour. The pepper shrimp 5/10 - good size portion, but it lacked flavour, it wasn t spicy at all. And lacked salt too. Pepper sauce 10/10 - perfection But their service was good. I ordered the food ahead of time, they said 15-20 minutes and it was ready when I went in 20 Minutes. Friendly staff. Overall, would I order again, definitely yes, I d order their fried rice and may try something else on their menu. Seriously the best fried rice and jerk chicken I ve had in Durham region.
Positives: Clean, spacious establishment. Polite staff. Negatives: Food is 4/10, advertised as a caribbean restaurant but caribbean food is only available on specific days. Not great for families as the music can be very inappropriate for young children. Final Thoughts: If you want a beer or something yeah, but for appetizers and food, especially if you know what the food is supposed to taste like, I wouldnt recommend going here.
Wicked food
Amazing west indian chinese food here in Oshawa. If you havent tried it you must!! Loved the pepper shrimps, wings, lamb and veggies
I was there with a few friends for dinner, the food and service was amazing. Also great atmosphere
Delicious food especially the Chinese Menu! This is what I would quickly classify as Guyanese Chinese which is slightly different to my beloved Trinidad Chinese but its so close in flavor and the quality at Palm Court is top notch. Love their house special rice with chicken on top, their house special lo mein (also a winnee with chicken on top), pepper shrimp, General Tao chicken, egg drop soup and fried wantons - be it chicken or shrimp!!! I visit here at least twice a month since they opened and have not once been disappointed; and its all been takeout orders for me, so I can only imagine how much tastier the food is during dine in when its hot on the spot! Their quality and good service is unwavering and I feel so blessed knowing this is part of the food & entertainment scene in North Oshawa and Durham Region. Keep up the great work Palm Court team! S/O to Keisha, always so pleasant on the phone and when I drop in to pick up my orders. Hopefully will dine in soon and experience the full hospitality. Dietary restrictions: Halal available Parking: Plaza Parking - ample spots available
The review doesn t reflect the quality of food. I could give 3 out of 10 for taste and quality. If you re new to Oshawa North please try another Resturant.
Service was good and the food was delicious! I ll definitely be going back :)
Food was amazing! And service was great! This was such a clean and beautiful establishment! Would highly recommend everyone to check this place out! Will definitely be back!
FINALLY!! A GREAT SPOT IN OSHAWA! I ordered take out for my hubbys birthday yesterday. After doing a Google search, I came across this restaurant and Im so glad I did! The lady who took my order was so kind, the atmosphere looked very welcoming and so clean! And the food was amazing! Especially the wings! The whole family really enjoyed it! Cant wait to go back for date night without the kids!
Kid-friendliness: They offer kids menu Food
If youre looking for a great West Indian food in Oshawa, Palm Court is a must have. Their food is always delicious and the taste is consistent.
The fried rice a d honey garlic wings are amazing.
Oxtail is really good! The carribean rice with beans plus oxtail sauce is damn good! Wished their jerk chicken also had jerk sauce. Ordered ginger egg chicken rice - really good / my wife loved it as well. The fried lo mein taste good, but a little too oiley for us.
Delicious food. Good quantity. Clean and Spacious. Loved it.
Tried for the first time today. Our family loved it. Keisha was so nice as well!
Good food
Honestly the worst food that i couldnt eat.
KESHIA IS THE BEST. Keshia has pleasant custom Serive. Friendly, nice. GOOD ATTITUDE AND BODY LANGUAGE. She s always smiling. Keep it up. I love when she serves me. I feel welcome best food hands down. Parking: Parking spaces available too park
Recommened restaurant because their food is good and the vibe is awesome!! Deserve 5 stars.
Large portions. Food is good. Potato Balls were very spice and the General Tso beef wasnt spicy at all.
Food was pretty good, service was excellent and the music was fantastic...this makes everything better!
I ve been visiting sporadically for around a year and have nothing but good things to say about this restaurant. Very nice services the food is very delicious; and might I add cheaper than other restaurants. Always a great vibe clean and welcoming place to enjoy a meal.
Great food!
This Caribbean Asian style fusion restaurant delivers solid refreshing dishes. I tried the jerk chicken/ Chillin chicken wet and doubles . They were all tasty . Well done and I am happy to have a Hakka style resto in North Oshawa. Price is also favourable as well.
Excellent new restaurant in north Oshawa. Wing nights are Thursday. Excellent menu, very friendly service and atmosphere. Give them a try .
Just a hype, not real Caribbean cusine. Taste below average and inflated price. Most of the time they dont have chef to cook Caribbean food. Better avoid if you have other choices. Call before you leave to avoid disappointment. Btw: they always play music on high volume, not pleasant for ears. This restaurant is not kids friendly.
Thursday night wings with my girls love it! Jenn is a speedy, friendly, and hard working sr. Server whose been helping me with food choices from the beginning of my pregnancy until now and the family loves it all 4 of us. Her and Kim are great at what they do. You have great employees that genuinely care to serve their customers. Plus we love the music feels like home on a hot summers day. ps. The wings are so good my daughter eats the honey garlic one and doesnt ask questions or pick at it, Thank you.
Great place with great food! Best wings Ive had in a long time!
Ordered the lunch special fried chicken on top of the fried rice which I think they had great fried rice I added a few chicken wings to the special and the sweet chilli wings I could have done without. Tried their polourie which was the fried dough and it was pretty good. The sweet and sour chicken was ok and pricing seem a tad on the higher end for regular priced items. I then ordered a regular fried rice (non special) and it was the same size? Thought it would def be a larger container but it did not. I ll def be back for the lowmein and fried rice in the future. 4/5
Today May 18th we went back to the best west Indian food you will ever get in Durham from PALM COURT. We Ordered: Singapore noodles Chili chicken Chicken chow mein Peppered Shrimp Phlouri General tsao chicken Curry goat with dahl and rice. They again did not disappoint. Our server Keisha has to be the best server ever. Shes amazing. Shes always so friendly, kind and accommodating. Truly she makes your dining experience the best. We absolutely love you Keisha. Palm Court rocks. We visited Palm Court again today for a family lunch and as usual they did not disappoint. We ordered off the lunch menu and the portions are huge. We had Singapore noodles, chicken chow mein, chili chicken, chicken fried rice, pholouri and everything was amazingly super delicious. Our server Keisha is one amazing woman. She never stops and the restaurant was busy but they accommodated us all. We love Keisha, she is a rock star. She took care of us perfectly. Shes just amazing. Between the great service and GREAT food, we will definitely be back. We are planning on having our family anniversary get together here. Keep up the great food and I know with Keisha, the great service. Thank you for another wonderful lunch experience. Vegetarian options: Lots of veggy selections Parking: There is ample parking. Kid-friendliness: They have a great kids menu Wheelchair accessibility: There are two disabled parking spots right in front of their entrance
Loved the food ! We had the special fried rice with fried chicken and duck with potatoes and dahl puri. Great ambience and service . Very warm and friendly service . Will definitely be going back again. Thank you
The food is great , but the customer services SUCK. I called to see what time they close and they said 9pm , I went there at 8:20pm and they were close. Also, whoever the woman that picked up the phone was rude and obnoxious.
Server was amazing and very attentive. Wing Night. Wings and stir fried vegetables were great. Will definitely return
Our lovely server for the night Kim made the experience superb. My mom had a very special surprise birthday dinner. Everyone truly enjoyed themselves.
Good Carribean spot, they have a decent size dine in area, good service and good curry chicken the Roti skins they use are top notch.
The food is ok, not the best Ive had. That would be the west part of the GTA. The beef pepper had no taste at all Food
Some of the best food around. Every meal is made with care and the service is excellent
Staff is very friendly but when busy there can be a bit of a wait. Regardless, the food is great! So happy to have Guyanese-Chinese food available locally! Spices and flavours are authentic and the chef even came out to ask how the food was! Ive dined in, had take out and even had them cater my baby shower and everyone loved it!
Good food good service
Amazing food and good portions. We went here on 31st Dec, place was busy. They still made sure to server quickly. Would definitely go back to try more dishes.. Really like Chilli chicken and fried rice Update: the afternoon staff is not good. The lady taking the orders was not polite.
I ve been a few times recently. Amazing food and staff! Love their wings and pepper shrimp!
We ve been twice now - once for Chinese, once for wings can t wait to try their Indian. Great flavor, friendly staff, HOT hot sauce!! Food
I had a takeout last night. I just loved the fries and chicken wings. Fried rice was not bad. Food
We ordered from the lunch menu and the server was very helpful in explaining what certain foods were. Great atmosphere, good music and our seats were comfortable. We ordered the chicken roti and it was so good. The curry flavour was so authentic and rich. The home made hot sauce was very hot but did not overwhelm the food. The server was attentive even though it appeared she was the only one on. I will definitely go again but have the other roti so to compare. Thanks for the great meal. The picture is the half I took home Vegetarian options: Unsure, but they were on the menu
Food was hot and fresh. Its an interesting place.
Excellent food and service.
The food cooked here is so good, especially the curries and roties are made so well. Will definitely give this place a 5 star rating and will keep visiting with my family.
We absolutely loved Palm Court today for lunch. We each got a lunch special, great price! The food was delicious and hot and was a good amount of food per person. We will definitely be back!
Value for money
Ordered a lunch special and I must say the portion/quantity really dropped, 11 dollars for a few pieces of chicken really not worth it :(
Great place to grab a drink and some West Indy and or Chinese food. Was in a pickle today with some family coming over unexpectedly and the Manager was able to put some catering for me (for 10 ppl) together quickly. The food was delicious and the service was off the charts. Well worth the stop if you are in the North Oshawa area.
The fried rice and fried plantain was the best but chowmein was okay, overall a good experience and wouldn t hesitate to recommend. I might visit again for sure!
Great place for West Indian food and drinks. Ambience is great as well, been here on two different Fridays and they had live singers. Good times at Palm court Food : 5/5
Had to get out of the place the moment I entered here. The music being played was so loud as I entered in a Night Club. Was not able to sit here for a minute because of small kids and my parents are not even a big fan of too loud music. Will decide If I ever visit here again or not because of the loud music being played.
First time ordering from this restaurant through recommendation from my cousin. I ordered through door dash biggest mistake ever. The driver never went to get the food my order was sitting there for 15 minutes had to send a family member to get the food. Their food is beyond amazing perfect portion amazing prices. The girl I spoke to regarding my issue with the door dash driver was beyond amazing and helpful tried her very best to help me and tried to give a solution she even offered to reheat my food by the time my family arrived to get the food. If you re looking for a great food from a Caribbean restaurant Palm court is your best bet. Food tasted amazing everyone in my family went for seconds
Though the style of food is similar to most Guyanese and or Trinidadian Caribbean Chinese, it was satisfactory, nothing to change your regular spot for. But rather another place to take in Caribbean Culture and change of environment. The atmosphere is that of great cheerfulness and friendly and like most Caribbeans loud (ear dropping) conversations all around. Overall a very welcome place to be in!! However as you know nothing is perfect. The fried banga-mary that I took part in was over battered ( I could taste more flour than I could the fish). My opinion; seasonings and or add-ons should always be used when necessary for enhancement of the particular food not to cover its natural flavour(s). I would definitely go back!! But I would not order one of my favourite foods the banga-mary. If you havent tried this dining experience spot out yet, you are missing out and do recommend you go check it out. Say hi, to Kimberlyn, from the Dominican.
Nah man, I just tried to eat at this place, I walked and and waited for over 15 min to get a greeting, didn t see anyone but a woman who answered the phone at the bar in which totally ignored us. Was going to try this place based on the reviews but no one told us anything and we ended up walking out, DO NOT Recommend wasting your time trying to eat here!
The food is amazing here, great portion size, affordable pricing and the flavours are beautiful!!! The atmosphere is very welcoming and cozy. All the staff members were friendly. Great place to have some drinks and enjoy some delicious meals!
Weve eaten at the restaurant and weve ordered takeout twice. Every item weve ordered was delicious and our service in restaurant was excellent. Weve tried the drinks (which are very reasonably priced in this world we live in), the lemon pepper chicken wings (amazing and crispy), the jerk chicken with rice and peas (perfectly seasoned and spicy and huge portion, house fried rice with fried chicken, lo mein with beef/chicken/shrimp, weve had their doubles (which were well seasoned and my personal fave), and the potato/channa curry with dhal and rice (huge serving and flavourful). Nothing to complain about, you need to go visit Palm Court, you wont be disappointed. We will be regulars. Vegetarian options: I ordered the potato and channa curry and you have several vegeterian side options to choose from. If you choose rice and dhal it comes with a massive portion of white steamed rice so this meal could be a meal for two or three (with no leftovers).
This was my first and last time here. The food portions were not reflected by its price. Everything was over priced and portions were small. Got the fried wontons and it was an instant regret. They were hard and not even warm at least. Ripped open one and it had no filling inside the wonton. Service was not good. Server wasnt really talking to us but was unpleasant. Did not come off as being nice and welcoming, I felt like she was annoyed to serve us. Pepper lamb was great and atmosphere was good, very clean and nice looking place. Most likely will not be returning.
Never go here, if youre white try some other place for Caribbean food. If youre caribbean and youre craving the taste of home do not go youll regret it after. Thank you and by for now.
First time here. Loved the food very tasty and plentiful. I had chicken chow mein. Less than $10 for lunch.
I got the Singapore noodles which were really good.
I do take out for the first time and the food was amazing and delicious
My mother and I have been here a handful of times, and have never had a problem with the food. I have an obsession with the wet chili chicken and fried rice, my mom really enjoys the Singapore Noodles. The lunch special portions are more then fair for what you pay for, and everything is always fresh and full of flavor. I will say the room for improvement would definitely be the service. The first time we went we waited about 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged us, and we were only checked on once when we were nearly done eating. The music being played was also obnoxiously loud for the time of day we went.
Come here all the time the food is amazing, always so flavourful and tasty! All the servers are amazing and except Kim. Have had 3 bad experiences with her now. She is very unfriendly, rude, and has a horrible attitude towards customers, not only is she rude but she provides bad service. This is very unfortunate as the food is so good and I m not wanting to come back.
Got wings and special fried rice with fried chicken. Staff was kind and nice..food is amazing!
Had an amazing first time trying Palm Court. The food was great and the service was amazing. Definitely recommend!
Always great food and service at Palm Court, my favorite little spot in the area to grab some wings and a few drinks. The last time we went our server Kim was super sweet and friendly.
Today the chicken and the plantain were terrible Parking: Free parking Food : 2/5 |
Awesome food
Weve only done takeout a few times and its for 1 specific dish that we enjoy-bakes and saltfish with fried plantains. One order is enough for 2 people. I cant really speak in the atmosphere but weve had no issues with service when placing an order.
Food and service is excellent
Got take-out and was very disappointed. I ordered a curry chicken roti...the curry had no taste. Also got a goat roti, with very little meat. The roti itself wasnt that great either. I asked for 2 orders of potatoe balls and got 2...not sure if the person taking my order over the phone misunderstood or not. I recommend repeating the order back to customers. Im not even sure if I was charged because I didnt take the receipt. Its disappointing when you spend almost $80 and enjoyed nothing. I wont be going back.
My brother had his birthday bash at Palm Court, and it was lit!!! The food was seasoned and tasted great. Caribbean style. Lol. A Dj stopped by and had us on our feet. My nephew, who doesnt dance, was up and jamming. Great time was had by all.
Great food and nice restaurant
Grand opening was great but not sure what happend the Chef recently... The quality of the food went downhill. The goat is all bones and the noodles are just terrible. I think they switched Chefs after they opened. Not a big fan anymore.
Very welcoming atmosphere , friendly and clean , the server did her best to ensure we were happy and satisfied , and the food was delicious.
I m very open to trying new foods but the food was pathetic and overly expensive. We were not seated and no one came to take our order for a long time. Our order that came the first time was wrong. And the second time, the jerk chicken had no taste and the fried rice was tasteless. Over all, it was not a great experience and I would not recommend it.
Amazing food. Good fusion to eat.. spicy bbq winx was amazing and also the chicken with black sauce. Highly recommended place to eat
Delicious food at very good price. Must say one of the best restaurants in north Oshawa. Service was fast.
Tried the doubles, jerk chicken, and curried goat and all of it was delicious. The doubles were nice and fluffy. Happy hour is worth the visit alone!
Love this place, its a nice and clean location. Drink prices and specials are great. Our servers Aliya and Kim are always fantastic. Management is on point here.
Wow AMAZING experience my sisters and I were going out for lunch just to catch up our youngest sister told us of this place she wanted to try out who new it would be one of our best lunch adventures our hostes Aliyah was so kind funny and charming she was so helpful with our many questions since it was our first time there we werent sure what to try Aliyah was so helpful and she helped us order a geat lunch menue we even had to take some home . Excellent atmosphere, great food and service was on point from Aaliyah our server. A great restaurant for Caribbean food in North Oshawa. I will definitely return!!
Made the trip here from Downtown and it was well worth it! Food was amazing, our server Aaliyah was great and was very friendly to my children, service was on point and proffesional. Definitely a higher standard of west Indian cuisine.
Terrible.... My boyfriend and I ordered boneless chicken roti and they were terrible! Very dry, very bland, and very disappointing... Wont be ordering from them again.
Horrible! Dry, zero taste, almost no chicken doughy doughy wrap. You get one chance at a first impression...dont eat here. Andrew W McNee
Just finished our 1st visit to Palm Court. Friends invited us out to dinner , we had never even heard about this yummy place. We were a group of 5 adults out for dinner. Greeted with warm lovely faces. Seated at bar height tables ( love this!) Our server was Kesha . Knowledgeable , friendly, patient, and obviously very passionate about the restaurant. We started with some fun drinks ( only $5 as it was ladies night!). Kesha helped us pick some delicious appetizers, the pepper shrimp was 10/10. All of it was but they were decadent. Also ordered doubles, plantain, curry goat & jerk kitchen over a mixed rice. Menu is unique , the food was all delicious. The music was fun upbeat in a very relaxing setting. Will definitely return. Also have take out.
Food delicious Loved fried plantains And All family together ordered Fried shrimps Fried rice Noodles with chicken on top I forgot name of chicken noodle dish But It tasted amazing Yummy chicken wings Yummy crispy beef All food excellent
We traveled almost an hour as we were craving carribieen food and and ordered Fried Wonton, Jerk Chicken, Goat Roti and Chowmin. The Fried wonton and Chowmin arrived fairly quickly and almost an hour later the server told us that the rest of the food would take more time as there was only one lady at the kitchen and lots of outstanding take out orders! She insisted us to come back some other day or order something else from the chienese menu. Why take the order if you knew there were not enough cooking staff and why would you take almost an hour to notify that we wouldnt get the food?Really disappointing!
Never had I imagined that I would be writing a review for any restaurant, much less this one, but what my guests and I witnessed and overheard yesterday and on my previous visits here was more than enough for us never to return and file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Yesterday we were waited on by Dominique. She had previously provided exceptional service for us on our past visits hence our return and referrals to family and friends who experienced the same dining experience from her. While the food was pleasant the management continues to be absolutely despicable. Jeremy as I understand as the owner of this establishment had verbally abused two waitresses in the presence of dining customers. A few months back my husband and I witnessed the same treatment if not worse of another waitress. As you walk into the restaurant youre greeted by his cold unpleasant look that unfortunately sets the tone of your dining experience. My heart goes out to you Dominique and to the other waitress because no paying customer should have to see that. Like many other restaurants, poor management will have this place closed down expeditiously. We will not be returning.
Loved it simply amazing food and service
This restaurant gem is exactly what we needed in Durham Region. The food is always consistent, flavourful, fresh and filling. Will always be back
Stopped in for dinner and drinks after work, first time visit. Immediately met with a very cool vibe and a friendly greeting. Honestly the hard part with the menu was narrowing down what to try since it all looked amazing. Ended up trying the doubles and a few other appetizers. Food was amazing, but what really made the visit great was the service. Kim was an amazing host for our first visit to this gem of a restaurant and made great recommendations for what to try, as well as letting us know about some menu items that were coming soon. Will 100% be back here, definitely for the food, but also because of the service. Thank you Kim and Palm Court team for a great night!
Food was tasty, sufficient portions and the hostess Keisha was friendly and pleasant.
Everything we ordered was so fresh and good! Can t wait to come back
Ordered a veggie lo min and fried rice, came home to find beef in the lo min. Drive back to the location to get my meal remade. No offer for compensation, All I get is Im sorry. Not sure if this is their version of a veggie fried rice, But I came home to go have dinner for the second time and there was egg in the fried rice.
Best Indo Caribbean resto bar in the area. $5 drink specials all week. Rum punch is a must try. My recos are the chili wings and Cantonese chow mein.
The food is horrible !
The atmosphere was good, the premises were clean. The service was great - friendly and attentive staff, and the food was good. I only did takeout but Ive heard from others that the dining-in experience is great. Vegetarian options: Tasty vegetarian options are available. You can let them know of any dietary restrictions or allergies when you order. Parking: Lots of parking, not sure of the number of spots but theres enough.
Amazing food and big portions! Great selection of beers and awesome waitress!
First off, the Calamari here is fire, hands down the best Calamari I ve ever had!! Everything we ordered was fresh, hot and sooo delicious! The Jerk Chicken Oh, and their portions are huge, you could definitely share. The servers are so nice and friendly, the chef even came out to say hello! Definitely recommend this spot and definitely going back, a lot!
Always fresh, always delicious, friendly service. I hope they never change.
Great place, friendly staff
First time visiting this place with my BF yesterday, and I must say that it was very clean and welcoming. Great spot for a mature crowd. Food was tasty, and the entire staff, including the owner, was super friendly. Highly recommend coming here!! Definitely will be going back again soon!
Why cant this place have designated hours? Why do West Indians feel like they can just open and close whenever they want? This places closes on some nights because the workers dont wanna work and the owners want to go party, no other restaurant operates this way, its beyond annoying, have a set time to open and close and maybe youll actually generate consistent business, TRASH. This isnt contingent on the weather either, I used to call this place countless times in the summer and the wait staff would always tell me We might close early or We might stay open late, Why cant they just open and close at fixed times? Everytime I think about going here I have to call them first to confirm what time theyll be open until, its ridiculous. Just because the place is dead doesnt mean you close early, does McDonalds operate this way? Only our people manage businesses like this, open and close depending on which way the sun is shining.
Had a Christmas dinner there for my wifes work. Food was great and service was handled extremely well.
Great food, entertainment and service! Amazing vegetarian and vegan options too!
