My family and I have been enjoying Mary Mondays at the 400 King st. W in Oshawa for many years and the taste and portion sizes have been nothing but the best but tonight we were very disappointed. Shrinkflation is a thing there and all four of our fillet sandwiches had a significant chunk of meat removed from what normally is full chicken fillet sandwich. Very disappointing, the new owners should be ashamed of themselves.

Love this place & the staff! The new owner/manager is wonderful & the employees dont seem miserable to be at work, which is important to me. Its clean & my order is always correct... Sometimes they even give me extra pieces on purpose. Ive just learned its the same owners as the one in Courtice, thats good to know too!!

Really freshly cooked chicken for 9 at night! Love this place. The servers are very sweet. Never had a problem. Kid-friendliness: Fries and chicken strips! Wheelchair accessibility: No problem getting in and being served.

Terrible experience with this location. The manager/owner is not friendly at all and whenever I try to call through to them I m told the manager is busy and will call back (which is understandable). I order Mary browns a lot and one of my all time favourite locations is in Ajax between Harwood and Rossland. The owner/manager there is amazing and he s very kind. He s the son of the owner but he truly treats his customers and greets them happily while being extremely nice to the workers. From my experience the owner at this location does not have a very good work Environment and seems like he s very strict with his workers. I will try to go to this location again and hopefully it s a different experience

This Mary Browns Chicken has a great reputation. John Sr. ensure each piece of chicken is cooked as well as possible. The portions received are really generous. If Im in the area Im definitely going for it. Many specials to be had. If you end up paying slightly more itd definitely worth it. The only knock is if you arrive during meal hours you may have to wait in a longer line. After you place your order. I know its worth the wait cause the chicken always taste amazing.

Ordered 2 big Marys with taters, LG Mac and cheese, LG gravy, 4 peice chicken with taters, 2 pops. Both big Marys had BROWN SLIMY LETTUCE! Like who serves or lets food go out like that. The chicken was more breading than chicken. It wasnt 100 percent white meat. And whats with the one pickle??? You cant afford pickles? Ridiculous. This was the tauntan and simcoe location. The Brooklin location is way better people at least they pay attention to detail.

I just went there on my lunch with my friends and we witnessed the manager be so rude and non understanding to an employee when she was completely apologetic saying she has been sick and just woke up and he made her cry I have had that lady before and she is the sweetest. It was also very unprofessional he is doing that in front of his customers.

Pretty much my go to place for take out chicken. The staff is always polite and it always seems busy.

After getting my food today I just found hair in my taters box. After reading other posts this is NOT a one-time thing. Not going back until hair nets are worn.

I have had the same experience with the hair in my food ,also I had received a wrong order and I had quite a time explaining to them the order was wrong..nothing was done about it ,I just got so frustrated talking to him ...this was Mary browns on gibbons st. The best Mary Browns I have been to and continue going to is on thickson rd Whitby, very friendly ,the food is fantastic ,the taters are like they were back in the day, nice crispy...not just seasoning put on them..i would recommend going here

Shout out to the young man on cash tonight ! As he was packing my bag he realized that I had been charged for Skipthe dishes & promptly reimbursed me the extra charge. So impressed with this customer service! If I could give 10 stars I would!

The closing time of the store is 10 pm. But if you ever go after 9 pm, even if it is 9.15 or 9.20, the staff says no more dining in. Its not officially written somewhere just depends on the staff. Extremely rude behaviour when i told them that ill dine in. We were kicked out of the store at around 9.30 in a storm because they didnt want us to dine in at that time. They start cleaning up floor when the customers are still eating as soon as the time passes 9.55, they close the store and leave

Food and service was good but seemed busy and not enough staff

I went there for supper. didnt realize that the place was so small to accommodate few people. However, the chicken was awesome!

Crazy busy at lunch time. Order ahead!! We waited a really long time for our takeout order!

Got my dad some food for Father s Day and there was a hair on his big Mary we went back in and they refunded the sandwich but not any of the workers apologized for it which was pretty unprofessional for serving a contaminated product. It could have been handled better and sadly we won t be coming back to support this franchise.

Fast and friendly

Arrived at 9:42. They close at 10pm. One guest ahead of us and two separate came in after us. Amazing service from the counter staff highlighted by the kind of energy you would expect at lunch but not so close to closing time. Food was hot and fresh. Overall an EXCELLENT experience.

I had a problem with an order as I ordered no salt on the tatters . There was salt. This ruined the whole meal .l went on line to Tell Mary which informed the store of the problem. The store owner called me and wanted to correct the situation. This was done today and everything was good .

I eat or did eat here ALOT, but after what they served me today !! I m done with the 400 bond street location.didn t smell right , chicken tenders were like thin strips of rubber with burnt fryer oil aftertaste . Now I did get like 7 pcs of tenders in a 5 piece box but I d rather 5 pieces at normal size thanks . But even if I did get the 5 normal sizes, with that rubber texture and burnt oil taste, if that s what it was, I m out .

Best mary browns in Oshawa they always put my Sauce in the bag and they actually take the time to read any Additional notes that are attached to the order. Thank you to whoever give me the extra chicken strip. And all I asked for was if they could put an extra sauce in the bag. Pretty please and they did with an extra chicken Strip. Thank you. the cashier is amazing but the old guy on the bk seems to yell at the women when he screws up an order and blames her. this behavior is despicable

I ve always posted pretty good ranking reviews for food establish in Oshawa but I m truly disappointed with the service received at this location. First off, the greeter was one tone, not once did she smile. She spoke like a valley girl and spent time looking at her cell than to actually acknowledge customers. I mean, just try please to be nicer. Second, I was there in time to pick up order and sadly they didn t have it ready. When I mean late, I mean 15 min late. This made for a really bad experience. Now, the chicken is great here. I will give them this for quality. Seems like four other people were going through same thing as me when it boiled down to service. I don t think I ll be back here again solely based on my own personal experience. Truly disappointed

My server was very professional and fair bagging everyones order as it came through the window from the kitchen despite an ignorant costumer yacking in her face. She did an exceptional job

The food is amazing but I went into this location on December 15 on a Friday and when ordered my food the owner of the restaurant served me and he went on this big rant how he was pissed because people keep coming in his store and asking to use the washroom I didn t think much off it as I know some places don t like that but then he proceeded to go in the kitchen and talk to a women that was working in the back I could here them talking she had made a comment about it s mostly white people that are the problem and he agreed he is like yea it s white people that are the problem Mean while I m standing at the by the cash waiting for my food i am from Newfoundland I have never been to a marry Browns in my life where the owner is in the kitchen bad mouthing people based on there race with a customer standing right there Normally they ask if you want ketchup or and anything with your order I asked for hot sauce he said well it s right there get it yourself very unprofessional The food is great but the gentleman running this place is making the company look bad

This is the BEST MB in Oshawa, and I am confident enough to say Durham region. The staff are always friendly, and provide quick service. Shelby is the sweet girl at the front, she always greets with a smile and always keeps a measured head...it can get quite busy especially on Monday nights. She doesnt miss a beat and gets my order right every single time. Big up John in the back of house who also always provides great customer service, even through the little window. I appreciate good service and will always be a customer at the specific MB. Great team Gudhu! P.S you know me! Lol Much respect boss

Twice now, the young thin girl at the counter has not packed my items correctly (leaving out coldslaw, etc) and is nonchalant upon return. Not going back unless Im desperate for taters.

Just walked out with an Original Big Mary (Monday Special) Ill have to say it was incredibly fresh & delicious!! Fast Hot & Efficient Redeemed faith in Mary Browns. Keep it the same!!

What a great location. They really pay attention to the details here. The store is kept very clean and they observe all the safety procedures. The staff are very friendly and take your order quickly. The chicken is amazing. And the potato wedges are a welcome change. The two piece meal deal is a great value and you have a great meal. Definitely recommend this location for any fried chicken fans.

My grandmother and I ordered off of Skip the dishes, DELICIOUS! We ordered 9 piece bundle around 5:15 and came around 5:40, hot and yummy. I recommend this Mary browns, thankyou team!

This place has thrived through Covid. Whenever I am there it is busy and they always get the food out nice and hot.

Very slow, expect to wait a lot for your food, slower than other locations

I picked up the 7 pcs of chicken. It was alitte greasy. I think because it didnt have time to drain due to so many orders as the Big Mama is on sale on Monday, so that may have contributed to the rush hour.

I went to get two sidekick sandwiches and got charged $11.28 which was weird since it is usually cheaper. I didnt think much of it and waited around 15 minutes to get my food kind of a long time but it takes time to fry chicken and it was busy so I understood. My order finally got called and when I went to pick my order up I saw that they gave me two big marys instead. I told the girl that took my order that I asked for two sidekick sandwiches and she just told me that she was sorry and then walked away. I was stunned that she didnt offer to make another one because it was her that got the order wrong but I decided to be nice and walk out. While I was walking out, I realized that I dont like the mayo or pickles on the big marys so I went back in. I told the girl this and she simply asked if I wanted her to scrape it off. In fast food places if you get a customers order wrong, you make them a new one, not offer to scrape it off, how unsanitary is that? I kept cool and told her to just refund me and she reluctantly did it. Usually, even at Mcdonalds, they offer something for free, maybe a small fries or a donut but here, nothing. If you want good customer service, do not come here.

this was probably my worst experience with a fast food place. Person working the desk just ignored me as she was rearranging receipts. I was standing right in front of her so impossible to miss. Then after 2 mins she says what do you want to order. No hi no sorry for making you wait. Just plain rude.

Bad location

Ive never been to this location As soon as we walked in, the girl at the cash taking orders looked like she did not want to be there. No smile, no eye contact, a bit of a line up, but nothing crazy. I placed my order, which the girl got wrong , so I had to order out of the combo which ended up costing more money! She claimed she did not hear me. Maybe if she had put some more effort into what she was doing, it wouldnt have cost me so much more!!! Food was good though, but the service left a bad taste

Almost 50% of the tenders were breading, just to cover the small portion. Never had this problem at more rural stores.

Slowest service ever! Ordered ahead for pick up and yet when we arrived and gave our name, everyone there ordered and left before we got our order. It s Mary Monday, how hard is it to cook Chicken sandwiches?

By far the WORST AND SLOWEST Mary Browns in Durham let alone oshawa. Pre ordered a big Mary combo they said it would be 10 minutes (I work in plaza next door) so I wait 15 minutes and walk over and it wasn t ready 25 minutes go by, wasn t ready..31 minutes go by when they bring it out. People were coming in and ordering while I was waiting and leaving before me. Ridiculous! THIS HAPPENED 4 times before I decided to write this.

The fried chicken was great even though we had to wait 15 minutes due to our order of the 18 piece meal as it was a busy long weekend lunch at the time. The staff was apologetic but it was well worth the wait for fresh and hot fried chicken.

If I could go no stars I would, two Mondays in a row now Ive ordered 2 of the big Mary Monday combo and had to wait like everyone else, but I also noticed ALL the other people including myself are being charged full price!!!!! This lady in front of us ordered 5... and all not on the price as advertising in the window,......

Extremely abusive environment where homophobia and transphobia run rampant. The owner is a tyrant who runs the establishment with an iron fist and regularly insults her staff for even the most minor of mistakes. This place has a high employee turnaround rate for a reason. The food is not worth dealing with the abusive owner, Mary Browns needs to conduct an internal review of this establishment

Hi there, First off, we are huge fans of MB and love the chicken n wedges. 2 stars due to the management/ownership/app... :( We have ordered multiples times and had issues with this specific location only with the app. This time around ordered a 6pc w wedges, gravy n Mac...only received 5pcs of chicken. I called the store to let them know and was told that they 100% knew they put in 6pcs (our order only had 1 wing, 1 drumstick and 3 larger pcs) manager or owner stated she had put in 2 wings plus the rest, unfortunately our order did not reflect this amount. Totally wish I had taken a pic to show this! I understand that the stores get quite busy around dinner time. As this is the 2nd time around w a mistake thru the app, just thought Id let you know that the app clearly isnt working for this particular store. As this store is a franchise, I understand it isnt the MB fault, just slightly disappointed as its one of our fav restaurants to get takeout. We will be driving 20 mins out of our way to continue to enjoy your delicious chicken! Thanks Mary

I always go here for chicken. Its convenient and has lots of parking space. Everyone in the area comes here for their chicken and it shows. The boys at the counter are always polite and helpful. Even when customers are rude to them the boys just handle the customers tantrums with professionalism. At such a young age too. And that attracts a lot of customers especially at dinner time.

Love their chicken poppers - batters so light and crispy and not greasy and their taters are cooked to my liking. I prefer Marys over the other fried chicken places for sure!
