Moe was really nice and very hospitable during our time there. Food was amazing and good pricing! As you can see from the image I ate it all haha. If you’re next to the mall, consider coming here instead of the food court.

Horrible food fish was dry and portions are very small hardly no chips and fish portions were very tiny, we picked this place because it was 9 mins away and the place we usually go was 20 mins away. Churchills fish and chips would have been a much better option and worth the extra 11 min drive.
Great spot for a quick breakfast that doesn't require a second mortgage! The service was fast and friendly, and the food was fresh. Definitely worth a visit!

Five Stars! Fresh, Delicious, and Friendly at Halibut House! I had a fantastic experience at Halibut House Fish & Chips recently, and I couldn't wait to share it! The Vibe: The restaurant had a warm and inviting atmosphere. It wasn't fancy, but it felt comfortable and casual, perfect for a relaxing meal. The Service: The staff were the real stars of the show! They were incredibly friendly, attentive, and helpful. They made sure I had everything I needed and were genuinely happy to answer my questions. The Food: Now, onto the most important part – the food! It was absolutely delicious! I tried the shrimp and the fish & chips, and both were fresh and cooked to perfection. The shrimp were plump and juicy, and the fish was flaky and flavorful. The chips were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, just the way I like them. I also enjoyed the dipping sauce – it was creamy and complemented the seafood perfectly. The salad was a delightful surprise – it was fresh, colorful, and packed with a variety of veggies. The portion sizes were generous, and I left feeling satisfied but not overly stuffed. One Minor Hiccup: The only downside was a slight fishy smell coming from the crab dishes being prepared. It's an amazing place with food at good prices and the staff is very friendly. I would definitely come back to this place for my breakfast when I'm back in town. you must visit this place.
Tried to use this place for breakfast... I like the home fries and the eggs are reasonable, even though they come hard over no matter how I've asked for them.... I've given them now 3 chances to produce a cooked pancake and they have failed... sent the first one back because of raw batter and received a second one which was way less cooked... take it off the menu if you don't want to bother... nobody is asking you to offer basic breakfast food if you don't want to make it... I was planning to eat breakfast here all month while I finish a large construction job, but will be finding another place which can cook pancakes and eggs well.... had a fish and chips one time a few months ago and for $17 and double deep fried to reheat it I figured they were maybe better at breakfast.... I was mistaken... brought up this problem as I was paying and was charged 20 bucks for some raw pancakes.... 8.99 special ( on menu) plus a glass of milk and a coffee comes to 20.96... what in the hell? Cook did not care...

i used to work for an industrious hardworking fellow named Angelo @ the blue sea on Brock st in Whitby.. so I can be a little fussy on my halibut Angelo used to hand cut his fillets & his batter was the very lightest I have ever had I was REALLY happy about my fish at the Halibut House !! The batter was slightly heavier but I still really liked it !! The halibut was so fresh moist and the texture as it should be..!! The slaw is really quite spot on !! I want to return to try other things I loved the server - I read the reviews - haha - what did you do My server was perfect - but then again - I always treat my servers with respect Rock on Halibut House..!! The food was uncooked, fries soggy, lumpy gravy , hair in food , and had to wait over an hour when placed order for pick up for 5:45 before at 2 pm .It was over packed when went to pick up. Over priced for food that tasted horrible
Have not been here in 6 years. Not a big fan of there coffee years ago and it still not the greatest. The food was ok and our waiter was very helpful and sweet.

Use to be good. But orderd 4 halibut, it was not halibut. Very upset it cost me 100 dollars for garbage. I will let everyone I know and we are close in the neighborhood within 5 mins walk distance. Unless I hear from the owner.

Halibut was very good. Fries are a little too thick and could use a bit more time in the fryer. Haddock wasnt that great. Clean restaurant friendly enough staff. Just a typical fish and chips spot. Nothing extraordinary about it. Did love that we were given a big bottle of tartar sauce so my husband could have as much as he wants and not steal mine!
They changed the recipe for the fish and reduced the size of the chips. Unfortunately I was disappointed with the new recipe.

Ok, so anyone who loves Fish & Chips knows how difficult it can be to find a really great place. So, with that in mind, I submit my review. Number one, the restaurant was clean, it didnt smell oily and dirty. Number two, the size of the filet was good, Ive had the Haddock and the Halibut, so that was important. The Chips are great, good size, good cook. Price? Well... there isnt a whole hell of a lot any of you can do about price these days... everything is expensive. But there are specials each day, so to save a couple of bucks, check with the restaurant. They change their oil, you can taste that first and foremost you cant hide that in this business. I had a great experience, you should check it out and form your own opinion.

I ordered chicken Chicken souvlaki and rice with a Greek salad. My rice was burnt and the chicken was not grilled. Lady serving me was very pleasant.

I went for breakfast Ordered white toast Breakfast was brought to me I had to wait for the toast When it came it was burnt Waitress said If its overdone I will take it and get you a fresh order of toast Already waited after my breakfast was brought to me Now I have to wait again The waitress did the same thing to everyone that was in eye sight from me Then when I went to pay She says I didnt charge you for your coke because your toast was burnt This is what she was doing Place your order to the cook Put your toast down in the toaster toast would pop up before breakfast would be ready get cold Then when order was ready Put your toast down again bring your breakfast Bring you toast which is burnt now and promo something on your bill to make you happy and so you will still tip I didnt go to be part of a hustle for some desperate waitress Food cost must be higher when shes working Every one gets something for free at the cost of the owner Customer arent going to complain they are getting something for free The owner is paying for everyone to get 2 orders of toast and something else on their bill for free Sad that this waitress thinks this is a good practice I wont be back Lots of places to get a good breakfast and get it all at once without burnt toast

Fish and chips (Halibut) is heavy enough that one piece can do most people. Good gravy, slaw is surprisingly tasty - I cant stand most places. Prices hurt a bit but hey, good food aint cheap and cheap food aint good!

This place is actually sad, employees look over worked, the food cleanliness was frightening and the kitchen put my friends and my own breakfast on the same plates and expected us to pick off of the same dishes. Gave us half a portions of homefries and states were supposed to share them off one plate although we both ordered the largest meal the grandslam. The waitress wouldn t give me her name or a number to speak to an owner. She threatened to take my licence plate number down if I didn t pay for the food me and my friend were not eating. The whole place is a disaster and led to a customer following me and my friend to the south end location. Harassing us, telling staff at the location we bolted without paying although that was not the case. I told the server I would pay if it s a big deal but we will not be eating the food and her attitude was very disrespectful stating she s going to write my licence plate down for being an unsatisfied customer. This store needs to be closed my Durham region health department. I filed a police report on the customer that followed me and I will not be returning to this store. Steer clear unless you want terrible food, bad service and strange customers following you.

A very cost-effective place to have fish and chips on Mondays and Tuesdays if youre not fussy on the type of fish. You can get in and out for less than $20 per person and have a good size piece of fish.
About the same as any other HH I have been to. Definitely needs a good cleaning. Dietary restrictions: Can order things if you are keto and just alter slightly.

Our halibut dinners were delicious and the service was fast and friendly. . The portions were generous and I loved that the dressing was on the side for the Greek salad even though we forgot to request it. Well be back for sure.

I had been to the Halibut house on King a month ago. Got great cod and chips and grilled halibut, Tonight fries were not fresh, refried, grilled halibut was the size of the palm of my hand which I paid 18.00 for. and the cod was half the size they normally sell. I spent 43.00 plus tip 5.00. I will never go back . very disappointed. now on the hunt for a new fish and chip place.

Cant go wrong with fish and chips, but can go on the wrong day! The Halibut House website advertises a Haddock special on Mondays, but this location has decided to do it on Wednesdays instead, they also have their other special on Wednesday. I guess they needed more Wednesday business or something, too bad theyre competing with Whopper Wednesday and a BK just 1 minute down the road.
