Santorini Eatery in Oshawa

Absolutely disgusting. Ordered about $40 worth of food for pick up. Ended up finding a hair all mixed into the rice. The chicken was also rock hard like it had been sitting out for hours. Decided to take the food back and ask for a refund as nothing had been eaten yet. Stood in the restaurant and argued with the guy for almost 20 minutes. Eventually got a partial refund (had to pay for the salads because we already put the dressing on them). Wouldnt be surprised if they tried to re-serve the food we returned. It also looks like theyre rebranding so dont be surprised if you show up and the name of the place is different. Super sketchy. Also not sure what they think Greek food is, but it wasnt this. Awful customer service, scammy vibe. This place should be shut down before they get the chance to rebrand.

I ordered the calamari and a souvlaki dinner for delivery. There was a lot of hassle because the person who took my order got my address AND my phone number wrong (even though I spoke slowly and he repeated it back to me) and then the food was absolutely terrible. Calamari was mostly breading and looks like onion rings, the pork was dry as cardboard and the sides were pathetic. This is not Greek food at all and not worth your money

Tried to order from here tonight. They changed owners again and are completely rebranding. No more Gyros on the menu at all and all meal will be Halal. They are no longer a Greek place. Nothing wrong with that, but Im really going to miss Santorinis. So I sadly wont be ordering from here anymore as Ive already seen bad reviews.

Do yourself a favour and save your money! I am of greek heritage and prior to the pandemic would order food from this place all the time and every one loved their food. This place has gone down hill and its embracing to suggest this is greek food.. Do the new owners even know whar Greek food should taste like? My greek salad was sprinkled with a few particles of feta you can barely see any and the dressing was awful I had to transfer the salad to a bowl and make my own dressing and add feta cheese in order for it to be edible. The chicken and pork gyro were horrible they both had zero flavour, extremely dry and each piece of the pork gyro was burnt and so dry it got stuck in our throats, we ended up throwing the gyro in the garbage. Chicken souvlaki had no flavour and tasted like rubber. Nothing came with Tzatsiki and you had to buy it separately. I am honestly surprised this place is still open when it serves such crappy food. Try another greek place as this is not greek food.

SOUL FOOD!!! Been eating here regularly since my first year of university. The best home cooked food you can eat while studying away from home. A must eat. Sad? Santorini gyros. Lonely? Santorini gyros. Dinner tonight? Santorini gyros.

Ever since this place was bought out by new owners, as of less than a year ago, it has not been good. Definitely not authentic Greek food.

Their Greek salad dressing needs some work. I ordered take out and they gave you very little and was very bland. Did not taste like a Greek salad at all.

*** THIS IS NOT GREEK FOOD*** it s an Indian restaurant pretending to be Greek, coupled with horrible customer service. Ordered the two orders back to back and both were wrong, first had missing items, second was missing half the order. Called the restaurant, said they would send it, and it never showed up. The customer service alone here makes it not worth going to again. I will not spend my money at a restaurant that s willing to blatantly lie to you. There are plenty of better, more authentic, Greek options in the area, where the quality matches the service.

Although the food was tasty, the service wasn t the most ideal as the order-taker I had at the time was having a hard time to understand my order of large salad and the two skewer dinner. I had to repeat the order about ten times and point to the items more than once. Aside from that, the cook was extremely welcoming

The place is very accessible with street parking. The food was really nice and the place was not crowded. I liked the quality and quantity they provide

Wife and I ordered their chicken souvlaki dinner with rice! Definitely the best Greek food we have tried so far. This place tops Jimmy the Greek. Homemade potatos you can actually taste the lemon, real chicken with all the spices, homemade tzatziki sauce, Greek salad and homemade dressing. Doesnt get any better than that! Highly recommend.

I got their chicken gyro to go and I really enjoyed it. Size was good and it was very flavourful. I paid around $14, taxes already included, and that got me the gyro plus a dessert. Service was friendly and I didnt have to wait long. I also really liked that they offered different levels of spicy sauces. The restaurants ambiance is not the coziest though, so I dont know if I would dine in. Will be ordering take out from here again soon!

Amazing amazing amazing salad!!! I had the mix chicken/pork on a fresh salad, the portions, sauce and flvaour were out of this world!!! Best salad ever, my fiancé got the chicken gyro wrap and she was blown away by the flavour as well! 10/10 MUST TRY

Theyre not open anymore. I dont know how someone was able to get a gyro 23 hours ago when the pizza place next door told me they closed a week ago.

Not sure what this is but it s not Greek. Almost had a shawarma/middle eastern taste to the food. Wasn t very flavourful.

Was glad to see it was open again and was looking forward to a Gyro last night but when I got it home it was terrible, the meat was absolutely inedible, it was burnt, dried and was basically jerky. I wouldn t even have fed it to my dog, if I had one.

Ate here again for the second time since they reopened. I was excited to find that I could get a pork and chicken gyros this time around (the pork is great - please bring back pork gyros as a standard menu item!). Serving size was good and the meat was more tender and flavourful than last time. Service was slow and they missed the hot sauce I asked for, but with all-new staff itll probably take a while before things run smoothly.

Food is just meh The Chicken was pretty dry and some was charcoal burnt and hard to chew. They don t use tzatziki as their sauce but a type of dill sauce that tastes as if it s just store bought dill dressing. If you want authentic Greek, don t go here. I ll be traveling to the danforth from now on when I want Greek because this place does not come close in comparison to Messini s

My Greek boyfriend and I order from Santorini gyro all the time, we love the chicken gyro pitas and green fries. This is our go to spot. Good prices, and amazing quality food. A must try!!

Its not greek restaurant at all. Greek rice tasted as it had Indian flavor. Chicken was dry. Salad looks old. Dont call it Greek food, if food is Indian like flavor.

The chicken gyro was horrible It was so dry stale couldn t even chew it . He had previously cut the meat and gave me to try at first was fresh. But When I came back to grab the sandwich hopped in my car took a bite and man it was hard as a rock nearly broke my tooth, while I had already left realized he gave the meat on the bottom tray that was already cut and dried out . Who knows how long it was sitting there fodrying out . All I know is that if it was freshly shaved it would have been moist and chewable . Not authentic Greek at all save your money go elsewhere

Im gonna assume that some of these good reviews are here because some folks just cant cook or the chef has changed over a few months OR some reviewers just have no experience with actual good food. I listened to the reviews and visited the store. I ordered a pork wrap. Ive had many wraps at other restaurants before and this pork was the driest ever! It also lacked proper seasoning. I asked for the fries on the side and I was given cold fries. I was the only one in the restaurant and the service was still extremely slow. I was so disappointed. The staff was very pleasant so I hoped for the best but the food was not great. My advice: 1. Do not allow the meat to dry out so much. Pork should be juicy. 2. Use some MORE of the relevant spices AND sufficient salt for marinating. 3. Give customers hot fresh fries. 4. Add some more toppings/veggies in the wrap instead of just loading it with dry meat and excess sauce. 5. Work on speed! The meat is already cooked and fries cook fast in the fryer.

I had chicken and beef gyro mix with rice. Beef and chicken were awful . I hardly got any protein though and most of what I got was just the crispy fat. It was over cooked very hard to chew . Total waste of money. Thumbs down

I didn t know they changed owners but the food made me go investigate. The fries used to be amazing with a seasoning dusting. Just meh fries. The meat on the gyro was over cooked. The dip and pita used to be quite large to serve as an appetizer for multiple people and this time around only came with four pieces of pita. Waaaaaay smaller not more of a side. Very different than it used to be and nowhere near as good.

I m giving 5 stars for everything except overall it s a 3 because ever since new ownership prices have gone waaay up. Used to cost $7 for a pork gyro lol. Now it s $20? Nah.

I really like the ambience and food they provide. Also, I cant forget to mention the staff and the services, they were really welcoming. I am really satisfied with their food and can assure you that you wont be disappointed.

Recently dined here and it was a delightful experience, the staffs were really nice and talking about the food it was fantastic, I really loved it. Moreover the ambience was nice and looked similar to a bar, it would be nice if they had one.

We wanted to try something different, not the regular Greek places we would go to. So we looked this up, and the reviews seemed good. It order was incorrect, but before we left, they fixed it. Thank you. this isnt your typical authentic or even commercial Greek restaurant. This place is a fusion of Greek and Indian. Not what I wanted or enjoyed. I was extremely upset because I just wanted Greek food. Not one staff member is from Greece or their culture, so that shouldve been the first red flag, but none the less we still have it a go. Even the dressing was a cross between honey mustard, olive oil, and some sort of Indian spice. Unless you want fusion, this is not a Greek restaurant worth trying

Recently stopped by to try out the chicken gyro, and it was delicious! Will definitely come again. Service was great! Highly recommended

Beef and lamb gyro overcooked meat tasted like eating SHREDS of car TIRE. ORDERED COUPLE SAUSAGES as well. How can you screw up sausages. Well Santorini know how to screw them up. Terrible. Three away everything I bought 90% uneaten

Was expecting a Taste of the Danforth type Gyro experience but got shrivelled up steak like grissly bits. Nothing beats Greek fries from McCains and a salad with no lettuce. At least they got the feta right. We ve ordered from this restaurant many times prior to 2022, with amazing food. Looks like they ve changed owners, it s no good.. the expectation was not met. Please avoid. Sorry Santorini .

I ordered from here for the first time and had a lamb and beef gyro. Staff were great but the food was ok. I found the sandwich extremely messy. I ve never had a gyro with French fries in it before (a unique Signature spin perhaps?) which was kinda gross because they were soggy and nasty. That did me in right there. It was a pain to dig them out but once they were out, the sandwich was edible although I found the meat a bit over done making it chewy. Flavour was good though. I would likely order something else but I d go elsewhere for a gyro.

Used to always get delivery orders for Skip. Figured it must be good, to be getting all these delivery requests. Definitely, great Pitas. The fries they make are different which makes a heck of a good taste. Looks like they drizzle, olive oil on them maybe, and add some feta cheese on them. Different, but very tasty and makes you go back for more :)

Loved the gyros

One of the best in Oshawa. There are many other items which is soo good rather than gyros. I tried kebab plate, Spanokopita, Bakalava, Pork Souklaki(one of my fav). The hospitality of staffs is also appreciative.

Ordered for 2 for takeout. Greek salad with no lettuce. just tomatoes and green pepper and some feta cheese. Also, the restaurant put the hot meat (pork and chicken) on the salad directly and made the salad warm. We ordered the chicken souvlaki and pork souvlaki, but they gave chicken and pork gyros. The calamari was soggy. Horrible, horrible food. There are many other better Greek food restaurants in Oshawa. Avoid.

First time trying today. Fresh meat off the spit. I had Mixed Gyro. Was soo good. Parking is really hit or miss but what can you do.

The restaurant experience might be okay, but definitely not worth it. Food tasted good but had small portions. Attached a picture of the Cesar salad we received. It was scattered in the container and when you moved it all to the side that was how much was there.

Took my sister and cousin here for lunch on Sunday (basically as soon as they opened). Ordered the calamari (8/10), chicken gyro wraps (9.5/10), greek salad (7/10), and greek fries (9/10). Overall great experience at an affordable price point. My only wish was that the atmosphere could be a little more lively, suggest playing greek music in the background and having more lighting potentially. All that being said, I will definitely be back. This downtown Oshawa restaurant serves up some popular Greek fare which reminds me of the food I ate in Santorini, Greece. The double pork gyro dinner is our go to order. It comes with 2 pork gyros stuffed with french fries tomatoes, onions and tzatziki. You get a greek salad and fries. Upgrade it to Greek fries you will thank me after. Total price came up to $23 with tax. Be warned its in downtown Oshawa so be aware of your surroundings. Lots of sketchy people around there. Parking: Street parking only.

We were searching for some Greek food in Oshawa and found Santorini Gyros! Glad we dropped by and gave it a try. Had the Gyro Pita and Chicken Souvlaki for the family and everyone loved it! Will be back for sure.

Ive been here a few times and its honestly such an underrated spot! I consider it a hidden gem in Durham because the quality is so good and I never have any complaints. There arent many spots in Durham that can deliver an authentic quality gyro like this. Probably the closest spot you can get authentic gyro if youre not willing to drive to the Danforth. The chicken and pork mix gyro hits every time and my grandparents loved it after trying it for the first time. I like that they put fries in it as well, they were fresh too and not soggy/old. The Tzatziki was delicious too, the owner told us he makes his homemade Tzatziki fresh every day...which didnt surprise me. Its a nice thing to hear because its very important to nail the Tzatziki if you want to stand out from the competition. The preparation was quick and the food was reasonably priced. The owner was very friendly as well, and the inside dining looked nice to sit in and eat. Santorini Gyros never disappoints and I recommend you give this spot a try.

had the kebab plater and a greek sausage . the kebabs were great .sausage was good too . the greek salad was weird . no lettuce , just cucumbers , green peppers and a couple olives with feta and no salad dressing .

You can dine in but its just a basic diner style setup. If youre looking for quick sit-down meal or to pick up/have delivered then this is the place, food is always great.

Joke and a half when it comes to Greek food- do not go here . On behalf of all non Greeks I apologize for this place who use Santorini s name(trust I have been there) . I wasn t expecting a similar taste as mainland Greece but this place is avoidable. The food is below average and not worth going. Try it at your own risk.

Didn t get photos of our food as we were too hungry.. But we had their mixed gyros pitas & a side order of roasted potatoes. The mixed gyros pitas were above average in terms of taste, freshness & price point. However I don t think I would order their roasted potatoes again. It just didn t hit the spot for me (I feel like they are better at other places, just my personal opinion) & I paid $4.00 for 5 small ish pieces of potatoes lol. They used the biggest box for them too. Just not worth the $ for the quality & quantity.

First time trying this place and Im obsessed! We ordered a chicken souvlaki pita and a kebab plate and I swear they are the best we have ever tried! Everything tasted fresh, there were big chunks of tender and juicy chicken, flavorful kebab, big portion, fries came in fresh and hot. I am a big foodie and I have now found my fav place!

No parking. Very rude. Not welcoming or tolerant. Food, I wish I didn t order and I will never again. I would definitely stay away from this place. So many better Gyro places out there.

I ordered a Greek salad and the lamb/beef gyro. The salad dressing tasted like I was eating only oil on the salad. The lamb/beef gyro was so disappointing. At first glance it looked good but had absolutely no flavor. Usually gyro is very flavorful and seasoned well but this tasted like tasteless chewy meat. I forced myself to eat some but ended up throwing it out because it felt like I was eating nothing. Based on the reviews I thought this place would be great. Perhaps my experience wasnt the norm but it was enough to make me not want to eat here again.

Have ordered from this place a few times in the past few months and have NEVER been disappointed. Food is always fresh, tasty, consistent and very fair pricing. Its become a go-to Greek spot among family and friends. Highly recommend the Chicken gyro club or the original chicken or beef/lamb gyros.

Had gyros and Greek salad. Very good and not expensive. The baklava is very good as well. Ordered online for pickup. Can be a challenge to park on Bond, but the taxi parking spot right in front is an option for in and out. Not sure why taxi needs a dedicated spot any longer.

This place is amazing. The gyros and Greek sandwiches are very very good. I was asked how hot I wanted my mixed pork and chicken gyro and I said medium. The saucing was perfect. This place is a must. I was visiting the town to play golf at the nearby country club.

Always great meat! 10/17 ordered calamari it was so off that my downstairs neighbour asked if we had left fish out. Not sure how the driver made it all the way to the house with it in the car.

Not happy. I will not be going back. They got my order wrong, I had to go back. The meat was overcooked and hard. The potatoes were not cooked on the inside. The fries were not cooked. To reheat to see if they would be better,did not work. Not a lot of taste. Maybe they were having a bad day.

Ordered Pork dinner. Potatoes were hard extremely over cooked as well as the meat! Greek salad contains green peppers, cucumbers, olives, onion and feta...no lettuce. If youre looking for authentic Greek food or even good food this is not the place lol try Greek Tycoon in Whitby!

Ordered the Chicken Gyros Pita Plate. I expected the chicken to be shaved from a gyros spit, but it looked very much like just pieces of chicken from a skewer. The tzatziki sauce was bland and had the wrong consistency. If they really roasted the potatoes someone should tell the cook to start just boiling them instead, as there was no difference: they looked and tasted like boiled potatoes with some seasoning sprinkled. Granted, there are a lot of Greek restaurants even in downtown Toronto that make the same mistakes. Thats why I avoid them, as I will Santorinis.

If You want enthunic Greek food this is the place. Honestly THE BEST Greek I have ever had. I wish I could give more stars This is our second time ordering and the food is always hot, and over all delicious.

Rude behaviour while taking with customers pathetic experience

Dont order any dinners. We each got a dinner, which came with a greek salad. Its not a salad. It was small, and there was no lettuce, just cucumber, peppers, onion, olives & feta with a ton of oil on top. No flavor whatsoever. The dinner was a skewer, average size, and choice of only one side {we got the roasted potatoes, very blah) And a pita. Other places give all the sides, not just choice of one, and a real salad. The only tasty thing I got was the gyro - would definitely get that again - its the only reason they get 3 stars. Otherwise, would have been 1. Very bland, very, very oily! Dont order dinners, just get the gyro pitas!

Got delivered through skip the dishes. Food was fresh, tasty and prices are fair. Cold and hot food separated correctly (big deal for skip orders). Greek salad was also made correctly without lettuce! All around good experience and will definitely order again!

Everything I ordered had dirt in it. I am pretty sure they dropped it on the floor and then served it to me. My first and last time ever there. I am disgusted.

I love the gyros, I often get it without fries. The meat is delicious and their sauces compliment it so well.

We went there the first time it was AMAZING!!but before 2 days ago we drove from Toronto just for Santorini.. but... it wasnt the same. The gyros and the potatoes was cold,the pitta was very dry.. I dont know why!!the meat theyre cutting it from the spin and the were putting it on the grill. This way is getting more dry.

Not like the other fake Greek cuisines in the area... super friendly staff, Reasonable prices, clean environment, generous portions ..and THE FOOD IS DELICIOUS!!! Will definitely visit again, could say best Greek spot in Oshawa!

We went during lunch time and had the lunch special which included a Chicken souvlaki gyro, a side in a drink for $9.95. The size of the side and the Chicken souvlaki sandwich was perfect for lunch. I felt the souvlaki sauce was a bit on the heavy side. Next time Ill ask for less. For the side you have the option of getting french fries roasted potatoes or salad. I ordered the Greek salad and was not disappointed there was a lot of feta cheese and the dressing was perfect for the salad. It was a great lunch venue and I would return again

Had a craving for Greek food and since the restaurant I normally go to was closed, I stumbled upon Santorini. Delicious. Portions were big and price was fair. The guys behind the counter were also friendly. Will definitely be back.

I love coming to this place when craving a sub in my area. They have many choices and very reasonable prices. I decided to try their sloppy joe. It was made to perfection! I love how the bread is super soft and they fill the sandwich just right! I ordered a half and it was def filling. I would def recommend this place!

Food is delicious, large portions nice clean eating area. Cooking grill easy to see what they are preparing. I would highly recommend.
