Their AYCE ordering system is bad. Food is good but the staff can t monitor what item have been served and which are still pending. Not sure if this is intentional to keep your order at a minimum but not good experience specially for paying $36 for dinner. Service has gone down for sure. A lot has to do with the sushi chefs themselves.

There s one staff who is very rude. She s like always in a hurry and when she put food on our table she just throw it like she doesn t like her job. She doesn t smile, and we re not even done with our food and she s just taking the plate out of our table already. We ve been there few times because we really like the food the bento was cheap. Around $17. Anyway, maybe if you crave for japanese food maybe just order it online, not very welcoming staff.

My go-to FAVOURITE sushi spot for years now.The start of great Japanese Cuisine and sushi in the area. Their prices have gone up over the years- as expected, especially with the pandemic. However, the quality has always remained amazing. Nothing will beat their AYCE dine in! The food is served in a timely manner fresh as can be!!!

This used to be my go to sushi place, but not anymore, after my most recent experience. Our party of 4 + one child arrived at 8 pm for AYCE on Friday, August 30th. Under the impression that 2 hours was more than enough time, we were shocked to be greeted with annoyance and haste. Our server was miserable. We asked to be seated at one of the 5 booths available, instead of the table she squished us into, directly behind a full table (we couldn t even pull out our chairs, and my son could reach the table in his high chair). This seemed to make her even more angry, and we paid for it for the remainder of our evening. She was annoyed that we took 5 minutes to look over the menu before ordering. First round of food was pretty good. Not the quality I m used to, but not the worst. My spicy crab sushi had no spicy mayo on it, and it wasn t spicy. The tepanyaki shrimp had almost no sauce, and was pretty overcooked. Tempura shrimp was slightly underdone. Nonetheless, we ordered a second round of food. This seemed to really aggravate our server. When she brought our food, we were told they were doing last call (at 8:45 pm) when they close at 10? So we were forced to order our ice cream right after our second round, so we had to eat it first, so it wouldn t melt. The second round of food was much worse than the first. The teriyaki beef ribs were all fat and sauce, they were inedible. The shrimp fried rice was dry, cold, and flavourless. All of the rolls were dry and falling apart. The California rolls tasted like they d been made in the morning, with how mushy they were. The shrimp chow mein had maybe 3 shrimps in it. Pretty much everything was bad/tasted old and rushed. On top of that, our server tried grabbing a dish we were still eating twice. The first time, I told her we weren t done. The second time (not even 5 minutes later) my friend was mid dip when she snatched the plate, so she ate the last bite without the sauce. They rushed us to order the ice cream, only to stand there, brooding and watching us, while we held the ticket in clear view for them to come get. The green tea ice cream was so grainy, it tasted like it was full of sand. They started closing the blinds and tapping their feet (this is at 9:15 ish) so we left. For $40 a person, I expect better service, and better quality. We left with over half an hour to close, feeling like we were being chased out. We will be going to Makimono next time!

Im not one to leave many reviews but as soon as me and my daughter walked in we both got dirty looks, they were extremely rude and gave us attitude for no reason. Before leaving my daughter was holding something and one of the workers snatched it out of her and and left. The food was good but my daughter felt very uncomfortable and wanted to leave. Do not recommend

Food and overall service was good. However I really felt I was intruding or something. The staff were pleasant but very brisk and not overly friendly. But its Sunday and may have been an off day. Lots of parking and the restaurant was very quiet.

Great food , poor customer service .my waitress was quite rude when I asked her to refill my pop as it wasint diet and Im a diabetic . Even though the pop was the wrong one and sent back I was charged for it on my bill even after asking for a manager .

waitresses are all very rude. The day I went (Aug 6th) and it was like they were prejudice. At least thats the impression they gave me. Not going back to that. btw, make sure that when you order salmon sushi that it is actually salmon. Mine was sketchy!

I ordered sashimi from Uber eats. It was not fresh with bad smell. Also sashimi color changed. This restaurant not honest. I felt disappointed. I never order again.

We had AYCE for 2 people. The food tasted ok, not good but not bad either. But the price was surprisingly high, $36.99 for 1 person was crazy for a small business like that, much higher than dinner menus from famous restaurants like August 8th. And finally, even though their working hours said open until 9 p.m, at only 8:15 pm, the waitress already told us they would close at 8:30 and I felt like they wanted to rush us to finish and get out and didnt want us to order anymore. (We arrived at around 7:30). It was the first time we tried at this place and surely this would be our last as well.

This place appeals to all ages, from kids to students to seniors! Great place to eat! Good price for all-you-can-eat. Enjoy their handrolls and the tempura banana for dessert! Our go to place for sushi!

Went here today. First of all the waitresses was absolutely rude, no manners what so ever. Secend, the food was mediocre and set me straight to the washroom afterwards.

Extremely affordable a la carte sushi. The quality is not exceptional but as expected.

The best strip mall/all you can eat sushi out there. Youd have to go high end (5star) and way more $$$ to do better.

The food was good, however the servers were not friendly at ALL, no smiles or acknowledgement, bordering on rude (tossing the bill at me). The restaurant is kind of run down as well. Better for take out.

This is always my favorite place to go with my husband for sushi. We took our 4 yr old son this past week. He loved it as well! The price to quality is fantastic and we really enjoyed our meal. The servers are fast and focused.

Staff is lovely. But that s all that I can give them. The crab made my husband instantly sick, the beef skewers were extremely salty to the point where it was not eatable. Management was nice enough to provide me with a discount, but we most definitely will not be going back, and choosing a more safer option in the future.

Very rude staff. They simply don t give a rat s rear about customers or about hygiene . The manager dragon lady would literally throw our food on our tables and walk off.. no word or follow up, made numerous mistakes and didn t acknowledge.. It felt like she was angry at us for being there spending g cash at her disgusting restaurant Very dirty manager with using the same pair of gloves to clean up, handle cash AND touch our plates all at once.. when I reminded her about the insanitary situation she started arguing with me Avoid this place as much as humanly possible!!! On 03/15/24, my hubby wanted to treat me for my birthday. The sushi was delicious. The ice cream having been pre scoped and put in the fridge without being covered tasted like freezer burn. The service was adequate and fast, yet too fast at times making us feel like we werent wanted there. The taller, older, hair up in a bun, female staff member was very rude, constantly yelling Cash or Card! over tables when others were finished eating. As my hubby and I were talking , she reached in between us, and grabbed a dish of the table. She didnt say excuse me, or anything. As it was the only dish left on the table, and we had already paid, there was really no reason for her to be so rude anyway. This will clearly be the last time for us.

Went to this place because we used to love it. Now Iam puking my brains out thanks alot. Would it kill anyone in there to smile or how about say your welcome, 125 bucks for 3. Stay away from the eel, the salmon. Thats the only difference between me and everyone else.

so my daughter and I went a couple of years ago and the server was pretty rude. For family day we thought we d give it another try and go as a family. I suppose I can say at least they are very consistent. The server was rude and somehow sarcastic without even saying anything. Plopped our dishes down on the table, poured water with the jug in my daughters face and generally not very helpful with any questions. I tried to give them a second chance but apparently they don t need our money.

The sushi here is great! Fresh, fast to come out, hot. Dont expect any smiles, laughs or conversations with staff. They almost all seem miserable but its actually fine because theres no wasted time! Lol. They bring you what you order leave you alone and we get a good chuckle from their cold demeanor! Ill keep going back for the food and the laughs!

Ordered sashimi through door dash because our favorite spot Midami sushi was closed. Sashimi slices were so thin it looked like the same slices you put on the sushi. Will never order from this place again.

Cozy place with the old style paper tickets for all you can eat. The food was great (except the ribs, too grisley). The service was fast but unfriendly. We were greeted at the door with a dead pan, almost angry look. I thought we walked in on a private party and were the unwelcome guests. I saw one smile all night from one server (who wasnt even ours). I know everyone has bad days, but it is hard to relax and have an enjoyable meal when you feel like you are putting people out. (Like a dish being literally thrown down in our table) Would we try this place again? Yes, food was good, and I believe everyone has a second chance to make a good impression.

Food was good but second worse service I ve ever had in my life. Over 2 and a half hours there never received single order correctly and finally after politely asking for our orders we had to say just bring us the bill. I was probably too polite and didn t speak up enough but after 3rd time they asked if we were waiting for something I thought they got the message. I figured maybe if I complained more they may have tried to at least get an order correct. I ve never left a review before and family wanted me not to raise a fuss there as this was to be a nice family outing.

The reason for the 4 star is only because of the price. Had a good tasty meal though.

Lovely expiriance, friendly staff, fresh and delish food. Highly recomend the hand rolls, beef tatami, and the Enoki beef rolls. The sashimi was fresh. I also feel like they used a bit too much rice on their rolls. I like the old school paper and pencil order system, very nostalgic compared to iPad Toronto. Bathroom could of been a little cleaner, but that should be a memo for customers to before respectful .

Do NOT order from this place! Their fish quality is extreamly poor! I ordered a spicy tuna roll a few weeks ago and the fish had a bad scent to it and was discolored. I wrote it off as a one off, a slip up, and decided to order again tonight. I had a spicy salmon, crab roll, and a spicy tuna roll and they were HORRIBLE quality! The rice was warm and mushy and something about the taste of the fish was off. Im now starting to feel sick from eating it. Dont eat from this restaurant!!

This review is really about one dish we ordered for pickup today - Vegetable Stirfry! Weve enjoyed all of their other meals but I feel like I have to warn people to think twice before ordering this dish. The vegetables they mostly used are zucchini and broccoli. If those are your favs, then go for it, but if you want other veggies then this is not the dish for you. More importantly, they also used the crunchy, woody textured bottom of asparagus. Be warned! I hope that it was a one off as I do like their tempura.

I usually order takeout, and I dined in for the first time today. I received better portions with takeout. However, for the price I pay, the food to quantity is great.

Ordered a spicy salmon roll and asked to drizzle the spicy mayo on top of the sushi. Instead they decided not to give me any spicy mayo on top or on the side. Sevice is mediocre at best - staff are not very friendly.

Staff and freshness of the food is what makes this place... I have been coming here for years from when it first opened and its been consistently good.... Its the best in Durham region clean and fast... One of the few sushi restaurants where you can really rely on the meat dishes being good as well as the fish based sushi.... If you watch the guys making sushi theyve been the same two guys for years and they do a really good job of keeping their stations clean and tidy... food and rice is always super fresh .... You can tell how good sushi is by how well the rice is prepared.... Dare I say some Japanese people manage here versus the usual Chinese run Sushi. Either way. Very good.

If you are looking for an all you can eat experience, it really has great options and good tasting food. The only issue I had was that the cost was REALLY expensive for the all you can eat options. Four people (one adult and three 14 year olds) no drinks, just water cost $200

Sashimi selection was good .If you are craving for some fresh seafood/ sashimi that has better quality compared to other buffet restuarants in the area. Try Tokushima Sushi . Tokushima is a good option and it wont break your wallet. You can do all you can eat or ala cart.

I have recently tried their calamari tempura and beef teriyaki. Food quality and taste was average. Calamari quality was not that great and not properly fried. Beef was chewy and did taste great.

Got Alacarte salmon teriyaki, very good, with steamed vegetables and sticky rice,.filled the bill.

Bought black pepper beef at this restaurant. See picture below. The proportion of beef to bell peppers and onions was quite unacceptable. There was wayyyyyyy more bell peppers and onion than meat. I had to dig and dig to get to the beef. The cost is $18.99. Come on Tokushima....you increase the prices and then cut back on the food??? When I called the restaurant to tell them about this issue, the employee suggested that I get another beef next time. There will not be a next time - do better. Ole tief!

Food is delicious and not overly priced for all you can eat sushi compared to other places. Love the dynamite rolls! Only thing missing on the menu is cheese wontons! Would recommend.

Food is pretty good, but the service is horrible every. Single. Time. I say thank you to them constantly and they never respond, when I pay they throw the receipt on the table and walk away without saying a word. They rarely fill up the water. They set the food down with attitude. Just horrible I ve been going here for years but think it s time to spend my hard earned money at a place willing to be kind and respectful and go above and beyond to be polite.

This was the worst service I ve ever had, the waitress threw the plate off food on the table, first I didn t think much about it, but when she grabbed the paper out of my hand, and threw the other plate, I then realized it was a problem. I only stayed to see if it would happen to someone else, but when an Asian customer came the service was completely different. So it was a racial discrimination issue!! I ordered Miso soup and Salmon and never received it! I eat from many restaurants and this was the worst experience ever as a visitor to Canada!!! I m going to send a letter to the media with a video of my humiliating experience.

Very good food. Very fresh, tempura was light and crispy, sashimi melted in my mouth, rice was soft and well seasoned. Kind of pricey but well worth.

Came for AYCE. Food was good and we got it pretty fast. The fish tasted fresh and yummy. A bit on the pricey end for AYCE, but the AYCE menu is huge and the pop that comes with AYCE is refillable. And I love how you can get sashimi with the AYCE menu regardless of the time! Other AYCE places I ve been to have sashimi as an option in the dinner menu, and usually the dinner menu is more expensive than the lunch menu. :D

You re greeted by a scowling lady at the door, who barks out a couple questions at you, then sat. Honestly, these people need a serious lesson in hospitality and truly there are so many sushi places out there, I ll just spend my money elsewhere. Their dynamite rolls aren t even good and the chicken in the chow mein is so over processed I question the origins of the meat. I gave 2 stars because I used to eat there often so obviously it wasn t terrible. But I walked out due to their rudeness today and I ll never return.

At one point this establishment was top of the line, in my opinion, for service and quality. I visited this place today for lunch with my girlfriend and we were both appalled. Service was very dry (lacking in personality) and the food was just as good. We ordered a number of different hand rolls and ended up needing a snow shovel to remove the over exorbitant amount of panko / tempura bread crumbs. It looked like there was a tempura hurricane in the kitchen. Also every third roll I picked up fell apart as easily as a spoonful of dry oatmeal. Extremely displeased with this visit. May not return and, if this is continues as such, you may not want to either.

Very rude cooking staff to my best friend on their Birthday. Claimed they didnt speak English then when we came to pick it up they spoke perfect English. Just wanted to watch them cook it and they made that very uncomfortable. Would not recommend.

We ve ordered in from here for many years and really do appreciate that the vegi dishes all have lots of good veg like broccoli and zucchini Instead of just onions and peppers. We ve unfortunately noticed that the quality has slipped. The last few takeout orders we so/so and tonight when we went for the all you can eat everything was super salty and the sashimi was less then fresh. While nothing terribly wrong, nothing really standouts out either. And it s too inconsistent for a higher rating. Vegetarian options: The vegi s in every dish were very fresh and cooked to perfection. A saving grace. Kid-friendliness: Anyplace that has icecream and napkins I consider kids friendly so, check!

We ordered fried rice which was ok. And Kung pao chicken which was terrible. It had high cube size chunks of carrot and Celery which was barely stir fried, and severely lacking flavor. And that wasnt even the worst of it. I have never been to an actual dine in restaurant and had to ask for a plate to eat my dinner in! Not to mention have to get into a dialog with the server about why I need a plate! First she pointed to the small plates on the table that are barely the size of the palm of my hand. Then she brought me a tiny soup bowl! At that point we figured we might as well just eat out of the serving dishes that the food actually came in and get the hell out of this nut job of a restaurant. She then brought over 2 regular dinner plates, and advised me that those dont look nice on the table...?????? Needless to say we will not be returning!

I went for the first time today, I asked the server what kind of dressing was in a salad, she said I dont know and put the bowl down aggressively. The sushi was soggy and the waitresses didnt even speak to me unless it was to order my drink or pay the bill. I wouldnt recommend going here ever. I am very displeased with how I was treated.

The reviews do speak for themselves. We came here and as one part of the group wanted to eat a la carte and the other all you can eat, we had to be seated on different tables. The food was served quick but crispy foods were soggy. The service was rather efficient than welcoming or friendly. Only what was necessary was talked about. Food sizes were alright. They brought the bill unannounced even though we we re still finishing eating! If you go here, better only go for sushi.

After reading the other reviews i wasnt sure if i should come here. i gave them the benefit of the doubt and we came here. Some of us wanted to have the all you can eat and some wanted to eat a la carte. we had to sit on separate tables. The service wasnt good they smashed the plates on the table and didnt look at us at all. After 4 out of 5 people were done with their food, they gave us the bill and told us to pay now, even tough the one guy was still eating. The food was alright, nothing special. the fried meat was already soggy when it arrived. The green dragon sushi was good. the soysauce didnt taste good either I will not return and dont recommend anyone coming here

From the moment we came in and said we didnt have a reservation the waitress was angry and that energy didnt leave the whole time, I guess if there is a next time we will call ahead and male reservations, I didnt think it was a restaurant that needed it

The food is good when you order it take out. It s not the most amazing sushi but it s ok I highly recommend not eating in the restaurant the water taste like it was from a fish tank! the customer service is unfriendly and like half of the vegetarian options are taken away if you don t order then separate from all you can eat. So in conclusion take out 3/5 but in restaurant 1/5.

Delicious food im pretty sure this place is run by and owned by a chinese person and i thought it seemed sketchy, the food is actually very filling and tasty. the udon soup is honestly better than the miso tho, still both good. the staff are very friendly and a good spot for when your very hungry as the portions are more than reasonable and the price is ok. would reccomend

Staff was very friendly, the food was tasty. We tried rainbow rolls, California rolls, spicy salmon rolls, and various sushi and sashimi. Also tried the pan fried broccoli. The green tea we had was very nice as well.

This place is, in a word, reliable. Is it the best suishi Ive ever had? No. Best service ever? Nah. Most amazing atmophere? Nope. BUt the food is always good, the cucumnber is fresh, the meat is well cooked, and the servers are friendly. The variety is also quite nice, the menu doesnt feel like there is anything missing, and there are some nice little treats for those willing to brave the evening and/or weekend prices. A very solid sushi spot that I really rather enjoy. The BBQ squid is highly recommended, as are thier Enoki Beef,.

i don t ever write negative reviews but this was one of the worst experiences i ve ever had from a sushi place, and after seeing many experiences similar to mine i think there seriously needs to be a health inspection on this place. ordered takeout on oct 22, 2022. order was almost two hours late. to be fair it was a fairly large order so i was understanding of the situation. i ordered crab tempura, california rolls, crab maki, chicken and pork dumplings and sweet and sour chicken. woke up the next morning with food poisoning. it lasted for two and a half days. it was the sickest i ve been in years. i got a complete refund through doordash, but i m still extremely disappointed and don t think i ll ever order again.

Food was good and came out quickly. The last two times we were given something we did not order. But the waitress who gave us our bill was delightful. It is the best sushi place in Oshawa.

It s alright, could be better.

Nothing spectacular. It was better before Covid. Staff is always grumpy. Cooking oil dirty. Deep fried items very dark and greasy. Presentation of food.....there is none. Wont be going back here. Forgot one dish we ordered and we couldnt be bothered to ask again.

Went lastnight for dinner and it was my first and last time. Service was very slow and they forgot half of what we ordered

Quality sushi

My personal favorite for sushi in Oshawa. The salmon sashimi is always cold and fresh. They do have butterfish which I really enjoy. The hot items can be hit and miss as with any place but they do have a large selection for the non sushi eaters. Service is usually fast and they are always coming around with water and tea refills.

Amazing Japanese food IF YOU PICK IT UP YOURSELF. Uber eats picked up my $58 dinner order (that s just for my daughter and myself) almost an HOUR before they delivered it. It was FREEZING COLD and despite being what was once great Japanese food; after microwaving it was soggy, stringy and cardboard like. My daughter was dying to try Japanese cuisine so I called the restaurant and all they offer dine in is all you can eat for $35.99 each regardless of age etc. Pick up only make sense if you live close enough for the food not to cool (and it is winter ppl!). Therefore I say DO NOT waste hard earned money on this restaurant. I called them for assistance in getting my almost $60 order to me and my daughter before it cooled and they told me if I didn t have an order number they couldn t help me (after charging my credit card and filling the order). As soon as I mentioned my concerns regarding the food arriving cold the lady suddenly didn t understand anything I said in English. Uber Eats is their delivery service therefore so not order from them without expecting disappointment and regret. Update: I have contacted both Uber the restaurant and the Uber driver one would accept responsibility for my daughters and mine extremely upsetting dinner (which we can only afford once every four or five months). Thanks for taking advantage of a single mom and her child reminding me that companies like Uber eats and their affiliates don t care about quality or satisfaction at all. Lastly the people that answer the phone at this restaurant are the absolute definition of unhelpful.

The all you can eat is a great value, atmosphere is fairly quaint. The food is good and there is a good variety of sushi, stir fry dishes, and appetizers. Service was good.

worst experience ever! been ordering online for weeks and was satisfied so when i chose to dine in i expected the same quality. waitresses are extremely rude and arrogant, they barely understand what you re saying so you re left repeating yourself. staff blame you when they make mistakes and then cop a attitude when you say you re not at fault. service is also nonexistent!
