This hands down is the best sharwama i have ever had. This amazing family run restaurant is a gem. I came here with mom and my wife and we were so impressed with the food and of course an amazing family cooking and working together. I cant say with words how good this restaurant is. Bought the chicken and barg plate and it was very disappointing. The meat tasted as though it was seasoned with just salt and pepper. Basmati rice had an old and stale scent to it. Won t go back Update: Originally gave their service a 4 but based on the response I got to my review, I take that back. There is absolutely no reason to be so snarky if a customer leaves a review that is not to your liking. If you don t like the reviews, then ignore it. I ve had Persian food before so I know what it s supposed to taste like. And this was definitely not it.

Not a real persian restaurant. More like an Indian mans attempt at making Persian food. I had lamb shank with rice and the rice definitely was more like a Biryani style of rice rather than authentic Baghali polo rice.

This was my first time and when I went in was happy to find that they are family run and the food was personally cooked by the owners. Everything was delicious and freshly made and Especially the lamb kebab was so tender we will surely be going back for more. Quantity was great too !

I went to Cyrus for the very first time tonight. The service was super friendly and nice to talk to. I ordered a chicken shawarma wrap and it was huge, the biggest Ive ever had. More importantly, it was delicious. Between the friendly family that owns it, the food quality, and what I paid, this will absolutely be my new go to restaurant for middle eastern food. A surprise for sure. We stopped at Cyrus Persian Restaurant and the food was absolutely delicious. The falafel was the best I have ever tasted even though I have tried so many places in Toronto. No matter how much I say about the loving behavior of this family, I said less. It was very good that they also knew Farsi. We ordered Waziri and Lamb. His chicken was good. The food was delicious and there is room for the kebabs to be bigger. Parking: There are several parking spaces behind the building, so I think you can always find an empty space.

I love coming here for falafels and shawarmas. The staff is so kind, and the food is delicious and affordable. Vegetarian options: They have falafels and I have had vegan falafel wraps before Parking: There is limited free parking behind the restaurant, although it can be tight and if too many cars try to come in, it can be difficult to leave/park. There is free street parking on the side streets near the restaurant which is where I prefer to park.

We have talked about checking this place out for a week or so now, they are just down the street from our house, but OMG its the absolutely the most delicious meal I have had in a very long time. Ready quick and the staff is the nicest! We will definitely be returning.

Iranian Food . If you want to try meat, rice, bread items in non spicy and tender feeling, you got the right one. They have some parking spots, not too busy, meat and clean.

Food tastes amazing but got disappointed when I saw the quantity compared to the pictures. We got the Cyrus special for $23 but the quantity of food was really low compared to the pictures. Very nice people though and good food. Just thought there would be more food for the next price.

Absolutely fantastic! Really nice people, too. The woman who works there as the owner and the main chef has been working at this location for over a decade and now that she owns the place, it is just as good as it has always been! I dont understand the low reviews. I am an Iranian, and I will be the first to suspect r*a*c*i*s*m, as I am sure many Iranians wont like an Afghan family cooking their food as good! But, as an Iranian, I can say that the food was fantastic! The chef is passionate about Iranian food, and the staff are the kindest, warmest people who greeted us on a very cold night in Oshawa. If I did not live in Toronto, I would go there every weekend!

Fantastic family-run restaurant with authentic delicious Persian food. The kebab had great flavour and the most-o-khiar (yoghurt) is better than homemade. And perfect saffron rice that would make any Iranian smile. Eat here and you wont regret it!

Great food, great people. The harsh negative reviews you see are purely racism, because the new owners are Afghani. Its the same cook from the last two owners, for 12 years, who bought the restaurant. How can you say the food changed?

I ordered from Cyrus earlier tonight. My wife, son and I really enjoyed all of the food. We ordered the Cyrus special, double chicken kabobs and an order of falafel. Everything we ordered was absolutely amazing! It was hot and fresh, and the portions were huge. Its a small family run business, and you can honestly taste the love and home cooking in the food. 5/5 across the board. Would highly recommend to anyone craving delicious food, especially if youre craving for something Persian!

Today was our first visit to Cyprus but it surely will not be our last! We were two for lunch and entirely unfamiliar with this type of cuisine. Our server was friendly and happy to recommend the dishes she thought we might enjoy. And she was right! My lunch companion with the larger appetite ordered the combination platter and I ordered the shawarma dinner. We split a baklava for dessert. The food was fresh, flavourful and absolutely delicious. There was more than enough for takeaway leftovers. Dont miss this hidden gem of culinary heaven!

So.. found this place on Tuesday as its around the corner from my workplace. And i have been there 5x since ! And its Thursday evening! Thats right, tuesday for lunch (had the lamb and rice) Wed For lunch (had the steak wrap) then went back on the way home and got the falafal wrap and dinner for my wife, and went back today for lunch, had the beef wrap, and just went back to get dinner take out a falafal wrap for my wife and a beef and lamb dinner - food is amazing, and i am a foodie, im downtown, in the west end for work and all over, so my tastebuds have been all over. This place is a must try, family owned, the meat quality is amazing, friendly, clean, and the food is amazing. I dont write many reviews, but felt like i needed to share my experience, they will be seeing alot of me !

This is probably the best Persian food in the Durham. Their combination platter is pretty good for 2 people. Sultani scale was through the roof so dont miss that. Service was great as well.

Ordered the chicken shawarma plate, got the worse stomach ache after. Had a feeling the chicken is off while I was eating. Server came to ask how the food was, told her that the chicken seemed off, like it has been sitting for a while. Her response was that you should ve come earlier , meaning what I was served was bad chicken? Used to go here before when Cyrus owned it, new owner tanked the quality. Never again.

Best Chicken Shawarma Dinner Ive ever had!

We have been going to Cyrus because the owner were amazing and the food was unique and fresh. Unfortunately, when we went last week I was surprised to see new owners. When coming in I saw butter chicken on the windows which made me sceptical Because I know Cyrus is Persian and that is not Persian at all! Anyways food was okay. BUT I miss the old owners and half of the reason going there was because of them, Cyrus reminded me of my dad and it was always a pleasure to talk to the whole family of him. Unfortunately another amazing restaurant that has new owners and it s not the same.

My favorite shawarma in the entire GTA. I dont have a middle Eastern palate, and I find this place tastes real nice.

They the best chicken shawarma wraps in oshawa

the food quality was decent with this price and the amount of food. Fresh salad. it was really cheap for that much food. the only issue is it was not really persian style. There were some spices in the meat and processing food in different ways. that looked like more foods near afghanestan or pakistan.

To start the food is really good, but they get a low rating from me due to their portion sizes. A small marginal difference is fine, however for $15 I got about half the amount that Ive gotten get from competitive shawarma places. Value wise they arent a great one at all! I wouldnt be going back for a second attempt.

I have been eating Cyrus for last 7 years , i have tried to keep support this business as i knew the previous owner , this lunch , i got two wraps , one with no tomato . I can say the food quality is declining and the owner needs to address these issues . Its been declining over last year and half . But i felt the need to post this so he understands. -I don t feel the need for an Arabic restaurant to sell fried chicken or butter chicken. Looks mickey mouse and lowers the freshness for other products -the bread ordering needs to be done precisely, the bread is not fresh , keeps breaking , the toppings don t look like they are made every morning . -The ambience is the store is not good anymore , weed growing in the patio , lights for the interior restaurant not turned on and store looks messy behind the POS. -and the chicken is greasy and its drips out of the shawarma , it was never like this before . Nothing personal , i am a restaurant owner myself and would definitely give it a try again for the last time . But id like the owner to know where he is going wrong .

Ordered the family meal with chicken and koobideh kabab, rice, vegetable salad and cucumber dressing. Delicious home-cooked meal goodness! Happy surprise for me was the pita bread soaked in the kabab drippings The following day I regrilled the now very tasty pita bread! The chef assembled my takeout meal in a box to efficiently carry everything to the car! It was almost closing time but several more customers followed me.Thank you Cyrus!

I think this is the best shawarma Ive ever had

I go to school near Cyrus and it s my favourite lunch spot super fast and friendly service. I ve never had a bad meal there. The staff are amazing always super nice. The food is amazing the portion sizes are great and you really get a bang for your buck. I definitely recommend going here if you wanna try something new and are looking for a new regular spot. Great people, great food, great prices

Our favorite persian place for foods.

This is a small Mom and Pop restaurant. The service is very good and the staff is very friendly. They are willing to explain what you are ordering and help you with your order if you have certain dietary needs or preferences. The food is very fresh and very tasty. In an old school part of Oshawa you feel as if you are walking into their home. Highly recommend

Absolutely phenomenal!! Food is always hot, fresh, and so tasty ! Amazing owner :) great prices my boyfriend and I love the chicken shawarma wrap! I have lost count how many times I have had it and it is just as delicious every single time we get them! 10/10 highly recommend!

They should really change the name of the restaurant. The food quality went down by a lot! I ordered shawarma plate and was very disappointed with the meat portion. Before they used to provide generous amount of the meat portion and generous with their special hot sauce too. Now it seems more like a cheap food that you buy with more money. Not going back to this new Cyrus restaurant anymore. Really disappointed...

Best shawarma wrap I around. I could eat here every day! Parking: Use the parking lot across the street if the back lot is full.

Excellent food

Excellent service, excellent food! I have ordered food for a very large group. Cyrus handled everything perfectly. Plus, foods were very well prepared, fresh vegies, and delicious.

We gave a big order for an event. They did an excellent job. Although their breads were not very fresh, they toasted them nicely and delivered them on time profesionally.

Its Not really persian. Koobideh, Barg and rice, all were relatively more Afghani than persian. The people making food were Indian, not sure if they are the owners. They could make it a better Afghani and name it as such instead. I might go there in future but not in the ame of persian food
