Cosy's Diner in Oshawa

We have lived in the neighbourbood for 5 years now and hadn t visited Cosy s until tonight. We heard they have good burgers and sandwiches so we ventured over for dinner. Good food and good service. We plan to come back and try breakfast in the near future.

Great staff, great food, diner feel.

I gave one star due to a very rude white cashier who is herself a bully. Non-Deaf friendly. Awful service. They don t respect your dietary restriction and/or food allergy as substitute but charge you extra. I do not recommend this place. Never going there again. Dietary restrictions: Beware: if it s dietary restriction or food allergy, there s an extra charge which I considered hidden cost.

Dont judge a book by its cover. The plaza looks pretty run down but this place is a hidden gem. The staff are great and the food was really good.

Bad customer service and the atmosphere feels old

The sheff is supper disrespectful and doesn t respect youth, we ordered a bunch of food and got kicked out.

Hubby and I go here for date nights. Lots of great food at a fantastic price. Owner, staff and atmosphere is unmatched. Weve been looking for a place to call our own and we did! We will be going there this Wednesday for our 20th anniversary.

20 dollars for a few fries and a banquet burger, compete rip off. Bland and tasteless they have a nerve charging so much. Place is always empty now i know why. Do your self a favor spend your money somewhere else.

My favourite neighborhood diner! The foods fresh and delicious and service is friendly and prompt. They keep my coffee mug filled which always makes me happy. Kid-friendliness: They have highchairs available. Some of the booths are higher which arent great for highchairs, but there are plenty of tables too.

Nice little diner. Far from fancy but what you expect from its name. The burger was good and omelette was a true omelette, no skimping in cheese or ingredients. Dietary restrictions: There are no gluten-free alternatives.

Breakfast plates are a good value and lots of food.

Use to go here for lunch all the time throughout highschool, went and got a poutine today because I remember them being super good, and was very disappointed with what I received, the gravy was all chunky and thick, was gross, just ended up tossing it not worth the stomach issues from eating old gravy thats all thick a gloopy

My daughter goes here for lunch not anymore as she has told me that the lady there told her she can not sit in the diner eating the food she ordered from their restaurant or she has to charge extra !!!! EXTRA to sit and eat your food ? Spending $10-15 per day there forced to leave and eat outside in the cold. Do not recommend!!!! I will be following up

Each time that Ive dined at Cosys my experiences have been good. The food is cooked to perfection. The portions are generous and the prices are reasonable. The service is fast and friendly. I will definitely return.

Food had no seasoning .. prices were high

A cozy place to dine! CLEAN dining environment, no funky smells. Didnt feel a need to ask for a straw for my glass of water. Decor is dated, sure, but looking past that food quality, pricing and portion size is an A+. Food was well seasoned and tasty. Friendly service. Coming back for sure. So happy I gave this place a try.

*UPDATE: Came back in Sept 2023 for a family function in their private/ party room for 12 people. Had an excellent time with delicious food, friendly and helpful staff. Kudos to Jaimai, Stephanie and the cook for the delicious food. Favourite is the desserts. If you love carrot cake, try it here. You can take it home. It s sooo good! Tastes homemade with the ever yummy cream cheese icing. They also have an wonderful eggs Benedict and pita sandwiches!

Ordered this on door dash. Halibut fish and chips. So disappointing. That was not halibut. Tasted fishy and peculiar. Fries were frozen. $20+ piece of fish right in the garbage. Was only refunded $10 credits from door dash. Boo earns.

Not one to usually complain, but I ordered delivery through Skipthedishes & both my hot roast beef dinners came unbelievably salted to the point it cant even be eaten. Definitely would have sent it back if dining in. The burger however was good.

Has a really nice vintage Elvis-Presley era typa vibe. The Fish and Chips special on Thrsdays and Fridays is also quite decent, as well as affordable. Its the one thing that always keeps me coming back:) Dietary restrictions: Prepares the Fish and Chips in a halal manner and not with Beer Batter as so many other places do.

Went there for breakfast March 2nd 2022 for my birthday. First time here . The food was fantastic. The service was excellent. Went back there March 6th 2022 for lunch and again the food was fantastic. Our server was rushed off her feet as the place was packed. I cannot say enough about the food or service. My liver and onions was excellent.

I had the omelette 8.99 plus bacon 1.50 plus small chocolate 2.50 milk and the bill was $17.50. I didnt see it as it got very busy, I paid and with tip was $19.50. Not sure if this is correct. Was tasty but expensive :( Heard from them, honest mistake. I will be back, it was really yummy though. Edit: went back, lunch on the house. Wonderful place. Looking forward to my next visit!!

Ordered Christmas Dinner for 4 from my local Cosys Diner. Excellent meal! Picked it up on Christmas Eve . The owner knew I was reheating Christmas Day and had everything wrapped for reheat. Huge portions and enough left for 2 more dinners. Turkey, mashed potatoes, 3 veggies, gravy and stuffing. Came with homemade cranberry sauce a dinner roll and pumpkin pie and apple crumble pie . So happy with my meal and glad to support local. Will order again during lockdown . Thank you Cosys

Just discovered this place. Nice and casual. Food is great, tasty and simple. there are fries and there are THE fries. At Cosy s, fries, both regular and sweet potato, are GREAT.

The staff was friendly, but the food was disappointing. The steak pita I had was cold, and the steak was chewy. Fries were the only thing satisfactory. My friends had clubhouse sandwiches. They looked much more appealing. If you must go, stick to those.

Very good place and delicious clean food

Sunday morning the place was packed with senior citizens which is how you know you re in for a good deal. Good quality food and very cheap can t really say anything bad about this spot. Also our server was cute and nice.

The best pancakes in Ontario!!!! Very, very good breakfast. I eat here regularly. The breakfast bowl has so many layers of goodness. Perfect sized portions, the hollandaise is divine. Like on a whole different level!!!! Menu has a strong range of items and everything is affordable. You will not be disappointed! Ask for their carrot cake! Dont forget to thank me later!

This is a cute litte hidden gem in Oshawa, the service was fast and friendly. The food portions were excellent for the price which is very reasonable, check this place out and you wont be disappointed.

Long time to get coffee. Food is very basic.

Waitress was very nice & friendly. We ordered breakfast. While waiting I checked out the washroom. If a washroom is clean the kitchen is usually the same. Washroom was spotless! Our order took a bit to arrive but when it did it was hot! Coffee was good! Toast was a little over cooked but edible. My eggs were exactly like I ordered. Not runny or snotty! Waitress was always ready with a free coffee refill too. Cost was $24.00! We will absolutely return.

I m not really sure how this place has such a high rating. The food is tasteless and over cooked. The service is extremely slow. I didn t think you could make a mistake by ordering eggs and pancakes, but they cooked the pancakes to the point they were crunchy!! Not worth the money or time to come back here. This is my third try here because I wanted to like a support a local place, but I ve wasted my money and taste buds enough. Go elsewhere

We had an outstanding Friday evening enjoying excellent live music and tasty food. Fish and chips were good. The atmosphere is friendly and intimate. It was very busy but the service was good.

Everything was fresh and typical of a breakfast diner. They got my order wrong but quickly fused it. The owner was genuinely sorry. No problem. A little slow on the coffee fill up, otherwise pleasant enough. Id go back.

If youve ever wondered what Thanksgiving Dinner looks like in prison, be sure to order their Thanksgiving Special. The stuffing is now served as a patty.

New Menu... Outrageous prices $14.00 for a club house sandwich with no fries. Throw in fries for an additional $.75. Coffee is horrible. Save your money and go somewhere else with better prices and better food.

I was very disappointed after reading there reviews I thought this place sounds good . I arrived on a friday night around 5 30 the waitress told us the specials and the soup of the day . I ordered the soup and then she tells me theres no more . I asked her why did she mention what the soup of the day was and she told me it was a habit . Several other people ordered the soup after and they seemed disappointed.

Had wanted to try this diner for a while. Food was meh. The eggs were so greasy, I thought they were going to slide right off my plate! I thought the price point was a bit high for quality of food. Not likely to return.

FABULOUS SERVICE AND FOOD

Food was awful. The one guy working refilled the coffee but didnt refilled the cream even after asking twice.

A welcoming neighbourhood eatery -- great for sharing a Sunday breakfast with friends or an pub evening accompanied by local musicians. I recently tried a BLT with a special request -- with an Avocado slice! Yummy.

Pretty over priced if you don t get that early bird special, waitress didn t see if we needed anything, had to get up and ask, food reminded me of other places with better service and cheaper prices. Not going again, wouldn t recommend anyone go past the 11 am special.

It wasnt really that great. It was my first time there. Upon arrival-it looks nice, inviting and COSY. Furniture-the back rest on back of booths-worn out(a cheap, easy DIY can easily fix that) . We (3 of us) took our coats off, but 10 munutes later put them on again as it was freezing in there. We kept them on for our whole visit. It was breakfast-it was just mmmm just ok. Hard to go wrong with breakfast anyway. Coffee was just ok.

I ordered steak and chicken souvlaki with rice. The steak was ok but the rice for the souvlaki was horrible and the portions were so small.
