I come here generally before going to events at the Tribute center. Ive given up on getting a burger here. Everytime I order a burger here it is burnt and you can really taste the char which is unappealing. A burger should be juicy. I believe the burger is likely not thawed out properly and just thrown on the grill until it is cooked throughout which would cause that. Based on many reviews Ive read here. I can see that this place doesnt know how to cook a burger. Ive experienced this on 3 different ocassions.

They have roaches and their food isnt good and the owner called me a redskin

Fionns patio is now open, My fist visit here to this location and it was amazing, They took all the proper restrictions and guidelines and made my lunch experience very enjoyable. I devoured the fish tacos , they were amazing. Staff were friendly and knew what they are doing. I will definitely come back to this Fionns .

This place seems to have gone down hill to me. The service is ok but the food.... the smash burger came with one paddies instead of the 2 and it was burnt. The calamari seem different. My last time at this place . Even the fries were bland. Wasnt offered ketchup. Yea sorry , wont be coming back ..one burnt thick paddies instead of 2 .like check your description . So.sad

What a great experience tonite. Four of us came in looking a drink. We were met with Hello my lovelies as the manager sat us. Our server Leah came over and took our drinks. We can t say enough about Leah and her excellence. They were out of wet naps, she fills up a bowl with warm water, adds a lemon, tests the temperature to ensure it isn t too hot and brings to the table. Above and beyond. That s one small example. Her attention to detail and great personality really helped make the experience. The manager s presence, check in s helped as well. 10/10 recommend the experience.

Carly saved the day, food order wasn t correct and she more then made sure that the issue was taken care of and we were served ! What a great waitress! Vegetarian options: Gluten free and vegan poutine!

Horrible service, our waiter didnt come by for at least 30 minutes, was actually sitting at another booth having a conversation with another group that was in. Food was just ok, will not be going back thats for sure!

Stopped in for a quick bite today and I was blown away with the food and service! We ordered fish and chips and it was delicious. Our server, Kelly, was kind and accommodating and really made our visit that much better. You can tell she really loves her customers and she is great at her job. Will be back again!!

Kyrstin was an absolute gem. She was friendly and attentive and relatable and patient. The live band playing over the playoff hockey game wasn t ideal, but the rest of the experience was fab! Went in for dinner at 9:30 pm on a Sunday, it was not busy. We waited over 5 mins to be seated and finally the bartender yelled over to sit anywhere we want. Then we sat down for another 10 minutes with no menus so we left and went to Portly Piper instead.

The crust of the steak and mushroom pie was too thick dry and tasteless. The gravy was far too salty

The Gouda bites were delicious and our drinks were good. Would have loved a refill but that would have required someone to check on us. Literally had to walk up and ask for boxes and a bill. The chicken bites were mush and not good at all. Service was honestly less than a 0, and it was not busy. The person who was actually our waitress is who we asked for the bill from (didn t know until we asked her), and the person who had come to our table was the manager. They need a new manager. Was too busy chatting with a table instead of helping the one person working the bar side, again, it was not busy go to Portly Piper, that s busy and still has great service. What kind of manager doesn t actually help out or check on table but instead stands talking to friends. We won t be back and will not recommend.

The food was fine but not out of this world by any means. I placed the order on their website and upon arrival they hadn t received the order on there end but knew it was paid for. How does this happen??? So not only did I wait previously, now I have to wait some more. This is beyond frustrating and extremely unimpressed!!! $79 of food and with all the added issues .not worth the trouble in my opinion!!

We were a table of 4, everyone elses food looked fine, but my salad didnt come as described, and also half the mixed greens were black and rotten. Really hate dropping $15+tax on a salad thats not even edible.

Went on a Saturday night for the first time, enjoyed the atmosphere. Didnt realise they have live music, which is cool, too bad we were done before they got started. Our server was nice, but forgetful. She didnt bring us our appetizer that we asked for at the beginning (we didnt get charged for it though) and didnt really listen when we told her we were done. Had to ask a second time for the bill. Food was...okay. Dont think well be going back any time soon though.

Went here for my valentines date with my girlfriend, had an amazing time. They had live music which wad a nice change of pace. Theyre special dinner meal they had on was a great deal, they were also very accommodating.

I visited the restaurant, Upon entry, I was greeted by security, who was very kind and looked very sharp! I definitely would recommend this restaurant to anyone as it is a safe and welcoming environment.

A friend and I went to this location on Thursday March 14th as we recently started visiting this location on semi frequent basis for drinks and snacks. We had the most unpleasant waitress on this evening, who was completely non-attentive and virtually ignored one of our requests to deal with other customers who she knew or saw as more important. My food was getting cold and the condiment I requested I had to ask for again after a considerable amount of time, while I watched her perform other routine general tasks. We were going to order more drinks and stay and listen to the band but her entire attitude killed the vibe and we ended up leaving and going to another pub and having drinks there. Not returning Fionn McCools Oshawa. If someone visits your establishment remember all money is same no matter who it comes from and teach your wait staff proper customer service delivery. As for waitress, I hope you were not surprised when you did not see a tip or hear a goodbye?

Bar tender kept forgetting our order and would talk to her friends a lot. Food Is mediocre at best. Live entertainment is nice on weekends and is the only thing keeping the place a float.

Went to see Two for the Show band. Had a fantastic dinner and evening with friends. Im enjoying this restaurant/venue more each time I go there. Service was a bit slow but they were very busy. Should probably staff up for bigger events. Still great time though! Thanks!

Went here last night with my husband too try it out would never recommend going too this place again. I ordered Sheppards pie which ended up making both me and him sick. Waitress asked if it was because of my drink. How could it be I only had 1 and went straight too the washroom. I wouldnt recommend going here at all. Charged me full price for everything that we got even though my husband had a bite of the Sheppards pie and ended up throwing it up as well just after we left. Came for dinner lastnight with my boyfriend and we were pleasantly pleased with food, drinks and service overall. Our food was a large portion which you never really get anymore with a chain restaurant, not to mention our food was delicious, wish we could have more. Our server Kate was very accommodating the whole visit and extremely helpful. We will definitely be returning soon!

I ll start with saying that the service has always been great when we dined at this restaurant. It has been a while since we dined here and the menu has changed. I don t know if they cut back on the quality of their ingredients or the have a chef that can t cook. Either way the food used to be delicious. Two of my favourite dishes in the past was their butter chicken and shepherds pie. I recently ordered butter chicken and found it inedible. The rice was overcooked mush and the chicken had the texture of gummy bears. I sent the butter chicken back and ordered the shepherds pie and it was disgusting as well. It tasted like the smell of canned dog food and it was soupy. Although our bill was adjusted accordingly we will not be returning to this restaurant.

The dishes are good and the service is impeccable. We were pleasantly surprised overall and will happily come back.

Fionns in Ajax was a favourite for my partner and I. Now that its closed, we decided to make the trip to Oshawa to pick up our favourite meal from Fionns as a Friday night treat - veggie fish tacos with poutine. We called the order ahead and were told it would be 15-20 min; I told them we were about 20 min away so thats perfect. When we arrived (20 mins later), we were told our food hadnt been started and were told to take a seat and wait. This was a bit awkward and annoying as we had made the drive and were pretty hungry, but we smiled, took our seat, and waited. We were asked by a few different servers if we had been taken care of yet, and a couple other people asked us to confirm what we ordered. It felt very repetative and clumsy for us. Again, not a big deal, but very awkward. We finally got our food, paid, and took it home. The poutine was made with shredded cheese, which we had never seen before. We suspect the cook made the decision to make the poutine vegan, as it had that distinct vegan cheese flavour, but we didnt ask for that. I understand the confusion may have been from the veggie tacos, but I would have preferred someone asked for clarification instead of going ahead. We both hate vegan cheese so that went untouched after the first few bites. Overall, the tacos were fine, the poutine was vile, and the service was clumsy. It wasnt worth the hassle honestly. Unfortunately we wont be returning, which is sad as its quite a nostalgic place for us.

Lots of empty tables but service was almost none existing. Ribs were cold when they arrived and pasta was watery. Appetizer plates werent cleared even after main meal was finished then had to wait a significant period of time. In an hour saw waitress 3 times. Wasnt able to get more drinks. Such a let down have been to these restraunts before and never had such a bad experience... over all such a let down. Wont be back.

First time ordering Takeout. Was a bit pricey but their Butter Chicken was worth EVERY cent. We very much enjoyed our dinner. The music caught my attention instantly and I was attracted to the environment and cant wait to go enjoy a night of fun singing karaoke. Looking forward. Thanks for the great food!!

This is the most disgusting food I ve ever received. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and the traditional shepherds pie with side seasonal vegetables and before tip my order was 53$. This shepherds pie is DISGUSTING!!! There is like a centimetre of OIL ontop and it makes the entire pie like SOUP! Ontop of that there s hardly any mashed potatoes and you cannot call this a shepherds pie at all. I would be ASHAMED to serve this to anyone, espically considering what you charge for it! Thank you also very much for the three pieces of broccoli and a whopping TWO cooked carrot sticks as my side seasonal vegetables . I will NEVER order from here again and you should be ashamed you even let this poor of quality food leave your building. It will not allow me to upload a photo but rest assured you can check the photo I submitted to Uber eats in my complaint.

We had a great night. Went to the pub Saturday night For a drink and they had a live band. It was a lot of fun. The place was packed until about 10 PM. Band stayed on until 12 Will definitely go back.

Sheperds pie and a tomato pasta with bacon, onions, brocoli, mushrooms cheese.. Both were disgusting. Way too salty and tasted off, like it was old. Definitely not homemade or made in house. Pre packaged frozen food put into the turbo chef. The food used to be good. Its terrible. Get new chef and cook real food.

Ordered skip the dishes. 2 chicken club sandwiches with fries. Reasonable price and the food was hot and really good. I would recommend Finn MacCools

Decided to drop by for a quick bite on the way home. Ordered a nachos for starter and a medium rare steak frites. The steak was still raw in the centre. It was returned to the kitchen. I was given a second steak which was charred on the outside, overdone with a trace of pink in the middle. Good onion rings though. Not a repeat for me.

My food was great but way too expensive. I was told a side was included with my meal so I ordered sweet potato fries and was charged $3 more. I ripped apart one of the deep fried fish tacos and was shocked that it was all fried batter and the tiniest piece of cod, like a sliver of fish!! The taco had a massive amount of coleslaw on top which helped to take away the fried batter taste.The waiter was great but all 10 or 11 of us eating here agreed that this was our last time here. I will continue to go to the Courtyard or the bulldog instead.

The staff and the food is 10/10 and the new management team is awesome very friendly and caring. Genuinely love going here. I recommend it to for any family event, business events dinner with friends. Oh they also have kareoke. Thank you again to the staffs here.

Was amazing to see the many vegetarian options they have and the portions were huge. They didn t accept the ultimate dining card that has them listed. I understand they switched but should honour existing cards. Was just told the boss says no. Won t go back poor customer service.

I wrote a review last year stating that the service was excellent, but the menu was quite small. I am happy to completely change that review! The menu was amazing, it had something for everyone. The fish tacos were TO DIE FOR. 11/10, will 100% be going back. Most importantly, our server Carly; was absolutely the best server I ve had in ages. She was so personable, her recommendations were all amazing, she was so accommodating, and so so friendly. I would go back just to have her as a server, even if the food wasn t good. Whoever sees this review from management, give this amazing woman a raise! She went above and beyond for us, I will definitely be returning more frequently!

Food has always been amazing, whether it s apps or entrees. The waitresses there are easily the best I ve ever experienced at any restaurant. Extremely friendly. Atmosphere is a bit dark but that s just to the style of the pub.

Not impressed with the phish but the chips were good and the long island iced teas were excellent. We had a lovely lunch with excellent company.

Came in for dinner and drinks last Friday night, and can honestly say, I wont be coming in again. While our server was sweet, she wasnt very attentive. We sat down looking at the drink menu, she came by, but we werent ready yet. 20 mins later she came back and took our drink and food orders. Food comes out, and my boyfriends steak was ice cold, and missing peppercorn sauce. She never came for a table check until about 20 mins later. Thankfully she took it off the bill. This is the second time coming here and the food and service has been awful both times.

Very slow mid week for both food and service

My hubby goes here monthly to meet up with his pals. I finally had reason to go - The Doozies were playing! Brought a couple friends of ours and our teen kids. We all enjoyed everything we ordered and the entertainment did not disappoint. The Prince drink is highly recommended! Oh, and anything pasta! Oh and the brownie!!

We read the reviews about Finn MacCool s and it seemed promising. I made reservations a week in advance, for a surprise 30th birthday dinner for my sister. Reservation was for 17 people for 530pm. The service was awful and so was the food. We didn t get to order our food/drinks until 6pm (one person didn t get a drink until dinner because the server never was present). The food unfortunately didn t arrive to the tables until 7:10pm. For some reason all the adults were served first and the children/toddlers had to wait an extra 5 to 10 minutes for there s to come. Everyone there was too scared to complain but everything tasted awful. My husband burger was super dry and over cooked. Every single one of the chicken quesadillas, tasted like reheated day old chicken that was placed in a microwave.(not like there was much chicken there; photos below). There was no cheese to hold them together and the tortilla shells turned into crunchy chips from being over cooked and tell apart when biting into them. After finishing eating, I had to find our server 25 minutes later to ask for the bills for our tables. (Didn t pay for the bills until 8:10pm) Wasn t surprising because our server was only present for drinks and food delivery; ex: my son looked around for the ketchup bottle and found it at their station and took it to use at the tables, So in total we arrived at 5:30pm and didn t get out there until almost 8:30pm. (Also the restaurant wasn t even busy). This was our family and friends first experience and definitely last so horrible because the reviews say much different on here.

We where doing some running around and we wanted to stop for lunch and we where going to Montanas but then we heard their music playing so we decided to go there to try it and we loved it now. Its the best pub i have been to in a long time

We went for the first time last night for their $20 Fish Taco special. We ordered 1 meal each. The waitress asked what we wanted for our side and listed them off, I chose chips and guac, my wife chose the sweet potato fries. Everything was quite good we found on the food side of things. However, when the bill came my Taco special was $20 as expected but my wifew was $23.50. When I asked the waitress she said it was 3.50 for the Sweet potato fries upgrade. I told her no one mentioned that (as other reviewers on here have stated) and I wanted it taken off. After some argument the manager (who never came to speak to me) took the extra charge off and when the waitress came back with the new bill she basically just tossed it on the table, very rudely. I also note that my cup of coffee was $3.99! Are you on drugs??? We paid, left more of a tip thatn we should have and will not be back. Make sure you check carefully on the prices, seems more like a bait and switch to me.

My wife and I spent lunchtime here. It was rather quiet at the time. We were greeted by some very lovely young ladies. Cheyenne was our server. She was absolutely wonderful! She treated us SO well! And she knew the menu very well. She made a number of recommendations that we tried. And she was absolutely correct. Come visit. If youre lucky enough to get Cheyenne ad your server youll have a wonderful time. :)

If I wasn t with a group I would have left after seeing the prices. The wings are outrageously priced!! This is my go to at every place I go, what you get for the money was not worth it at all , even the way they were made.. soggy. The stake pie was also disappointing, the meat was way to chewy, my wife never finished it. Our server was very gruff and to the point, not friendly at all. Definitely wouldn t recommend.

Beer prices are through the roof .. most expensive in Durham Region. $10 for a pint is quite alarming.. they definitely need to do something about that. Other then that the staff are very friendly and food is good!

The young lady at the front desk was kind and had guided us to our seats. Very reserved and nice area right beside the bar. We had ordered our food and it came out in a good timing. The food was great, we had orders the 1/2 rack ribs and the Stacker Fried Chicken and it was D E L I C I O U S. Portions were great for the value. We had also ordered a Whisky Iced Teas drink and it was fantastic. The atmosphere was great. After eating, we had a craving for a pastry and settled on the Carrot Cheese Cake option and it was AMAZING .so so good!!! Will definitely come again and I recommend for a chill date spot and group meet up!

We have eaten at this location in the past and the food was good. Tonight s food was awful! We ordered the pub nachos and wings. The nachos were so dry, was missing the queso as described on the menu and it looked like it had half a salad on top to cover up that fact. The wings were overdone and tasted a little funny like they were very old. And to pay $25 for 1.5lbs is ridiculous. The waitress didn t even come back to check to see if everything was ok until I flagged her down to comment on the dryness of the nachos. Needless to say we will not be returning.

We mt friends there who really enjoy it. If I were to go by my first visit I would have given an overall five star on the food, service staff and atmosphere. It gave off an excellent vibe. We went back a few days later and were turned away because of an impending staff meeting. Our third attempt was disappointing and barely rates a three. My wifes food was warm but not hot. The service staff was not engaging and smiles seemed perfunctory. We will give it another shot. Perhaps it depends on the day you go there.

The food was fantastic but a little pricey. Sunday nights is Kareokee, which is always fun, but they finish early, so you gotta get there early if you wanna sing a couple of times.

Things seem to have gone downhill over the past year. The food is still good, but the entertainment and service... not so much. Wheelchair accessibility: One of the few such establishments in the area that keeps their automatic door openers operational.

We went here Saturday night for a friend s birthday. The live music was so loud nobody could hear each other. The band was ok at best. After awhile we decided to just leave. We ordered the blarney chips and some drinks. Service was slow. The blarney chips were room temperature and not very good. If you re looking to go to an amateur concert, this may be for you. If you re looking to socialize over some drinks, find somewhere else to go.

Went here for lunch today and our experience was delightful. They have lots of options for vegetarians which was refreshing and the food was very tasty . The service from the hostess to the server was excellent and very friendly! Highly recommend a visit !

Terrible Service and worst food I ve ever had. Went out for a family dinner, drinks took 20 minutes to arrive, when the food finally arrived it was luke warm. I ordered the fish and chips which was full of grease and soggy, with a side of gravy which is apparently a 3$ charge (which would be no issue for good quality) anyways I ate less than half my meal. For an Irish pub fish and chips should be a great choice but I was mistaken. After everyone had finished it took 15 minutes to get the servers attention to ask for the bill, when the bill finally arrived it was for completely different food/drinks than we ordered, finally on the third attempt we finally got the correct bill .. on the upside the fish and chips tasted better coming back up not long after I got back home . Wasn t just me the one other person in my party who ordered fish and chips was also violently ill. Will never be back to this place, I strongly suggest new management, new servers , cooks or this place won t last much longer. We were 1 of 5 groups in the restaurant so they can t use they were busy as an excuse ..

Never in my life have I ever seen someone invert the lid covers for my takeout covers food was burnt, missing items, and finally not following the guidelines of how food is prepared. This should be more than enough to decide your fate at this restaurant

Great food and beer selections: the space is a little dark but it fits the pub vibe. Kelsey & Kelly were very personable and good to chat with during my stay, and Kelly gave me a good song recommendation too! Food

Great food and great music. The daytime bartenders Kelsey and Brenna are great to chat with, and give excellent service! Alivia the manager is very friendly and seems very helpful. Definitely a place to check out.

Came in at 6pm tonight only to be told by the lady at the front that they were totally full, because we didn t have a reservation we were basically just out of luck, could not dine there. End of story. No option to even wait for a table to clear up or sit at the bar. Absolutely ridiculous since we had driven out of our way to eat here. Won t be back

This restaurant/bar does not carry scotch. Or the waitress did not know what it was. The wings were deep fried to death.

Food portions were small. Not great quality considering the price. Rather disappointing. Reservation was for the dining room and we were put in the bar when we arrived without any explanation for why.

Waitress took for every to serve us .Did not offer us ketchup for our fries. My fish Battred was over cooked and too salty. Hubbys Chicken fingers and fries tasted really good. The coleslaw tasted really good out of the fish and chips dinner I got.

Worst experience in my life . First issue was that it took forever to have a staff member come and even offer us a drink let alone inquire about food. The menu font is so small so you cant read what the ingredients, especially in such poor lighting. Description does not state that the Mayo is in both the burger AND the bacon mixture . I am.allergic to mayo Had to scrape the residue off the burger. Server offered new bum, then offered new bacon after he came back. Had to ask for replacement lettuce, tomato & pickle. My companion had to go to the bar to request condiments for my burger. Burger was barely adeaquate - Harbeys would have been better.. I still reacted to the residual mayonnaise on the burger. The drink of ginger ale with sourpuss raspberry was an unbelievably weak tasting drink. The only single saving Grace of the entire male beyond my companion was the lattice fries which were very well done. I WAS STILL CHARGED FULL.PRIVVE for thin inswuquate meal.. I will never ever return to a Finn McCools location anywhere especially not the Oshawa location at which I had this horrible horrible experience.. This experience is rated a one-star because you cannot wait any lower

First time here. Food was great and service excellent. Would definitely recommend. The portions were perfect, and cooked to perfection! I couldn t be happier with the overall service and quality that I experienced here today!

Really slow service and the girl dont come and check again we need something or not .. i need to wait 25mins to order wings after my first order.. and the 1st order she just took and ran didnt even asked i need anything else or not .. really disappointing..

It was 5pm and the music was loud, tame it down during supper hours, have live music after 7pm please, couldnt hear the person sitting across me!

Fionn MacCools in Oshawa has a great staff, great live music, and best of all a great vegan menu with tons of yummy vegan options!! SO awesome to have that so close to us and not have to drive to Toronto for plant-based options at a cool restaurant. :)

Excellent as always. Just updated their menu. Cost versus quality of food/service is very reasonable. Live music nights can be very hit or miss.
