Makimono Restaurant specializes in authentic Japanese cuisine. This Week Makimono is the perfect place for event planning and family gathering. We are committed to exceeding your expectations by providing highest quality of food, superior service and a comfortable atmosphere. From our chefs to our servers to our managers, everyone is working toward this goal!
I’ve been going here for years and always came only here for Sushi. Recently though, i’ve noticed the food standards have changed. They took a lot… and i mean A LOT of options off of the menu. Most options they took off included raw fish, mainly salmon which is the main food I go for. I also noticed the quality of the salmon was very poor. Not too colourful and was almost falling apart.. did not have a great taste either. This really disappointed me as this place used to be very good. Until they increase their quality, I won’t be going back.
The sushi is pretty fresh and there are many selections. One of the best all you can eat sushi in the Durham region. Dinner price is a bit high in my personal opinion but compared to other dinner options like steak house or high end restaurant, it is reasonable. I like it. The restaurant and washroom is pretty clean.
Our regular all-you-can-eat Japanese restaurant! The staff is super nice and friendly to the kids! The food comes out fast and tastes great! Just last time we visited, we were a bit surprised by the low quality seaweeds in the rolls (something tasted different than usual), but the rest of the sushi and other dishes are always great. 👌
I recently visited with high expectations, having enjoyed other locations in the past. Unfortunately, this experience fell short on every level. The rice in every dish tasted watered down, which was extremely off-putting—I've had better sushi from a gas station. This was the worst sushi I’ve ever had ever, literally. The fried wontons were served cold in the middle, and the overall flavor profile felt diluted with water, leaving me quite grossed out. Soya sauce was overly salty, almost like this was all planned out to complement their watery tasting sushi. Additionally, not very accessible; there was no ramp for wheelchairs or strollers, and the automatic door at the entrance didn’t function. This visit was ultimately disappointing, and I won’t be returning.
I’ve been to this location quite a few times, slowly I started noticing a decline in food and service. I wasn’t too impressed, however, I went again because my sister requested it for her birthday dinner and I was pleasantly surprised. The sushi was very fresh and delicious. I find the rolls here the perfect size. All the asian dishes we ordered were very good as well. The portions are a good size for everyone to share. Many vegan and vegetarian options. Everyone really enjoyed their meal. The servers were attentive and quickly cleared away our dishes. We were served sushi rolls we didn’t order and they took them away without any trouble. They even gave us plates and forks for my sister’s birthday cake we brought in. Other than the “robot server” which is annoying as heck. Yes, I have a grudge, it’s a great restaurant to get delicious all you can eat sushi.
Review: I agree, they don't want you to have people in your party having two different menus. Obviously, they think you are going to take advantage of the AYCE menu. Sadly, it may have happened so they don't want people taking advantage, but you have to separate your party to do this? I agree with another Reviewer here that it's not fair. Recent visit, the server argued about this, you can't have two different menus (A la carte) or (AYCE). Food took a while to arrive. Even if they use a robot to bring it to your table. Soup was awful!! The won ton soup used to be amazing. Now they buy the frozen prepared ones. It's like eating a chunk of playdoh. Broth has no taste at all. The miso soup had no taste either, like warmed up water. Another Reviewer here stated the same thing. Salad was drenched in dressing, barely any vegetables. Lettuce looked like it was thrown in without any care. Either new cooks or poor management. This wasn't the case before. Service was not friendly at all. They are keen to clear plates and drop cutlery on the floor when requested. It feels as if they want you to eat fast and leave. Yet you are waiting for your food to come???!! They were only friendly when you are paying your bill and keep an eye on you when you type in the tip amount or percentage. This location of Makimono has gone downhill. Sadly, they must have new management that doesn't care about it's service, food or atmosphere. They have total control in their hands to do better. Don't think we will return to this location again. I hope management reads this review because it is similar to the other reviews that mention the same categories. Do better! You charge enough to do so!! Shameful!
A good sushi place in Oshawa. The food is good and there are plenty of dishes to choose from. We enjoyed dining here.
Had a great experience! The sushi was delicious and the portion sizes were just right, making it great value for the price. The menu had a fantastic variety, and the staff were super helpful in guiding us through the options. They made excellent recommendations that we thoroughly enjoyed. It’s definitely a place I’ll be returning to soon!
Modern and clean, amazing food and wonderful service, so happy finding this place in Oshawa!
Showed up last minute (9pm), but service and food were excellent. Very courteous and accommodating. Will definitely go again soon.
I had a very unpleasant experience at Makimono Sushi Bar & Restaurant. The horrible. The atmosphere wasn t enjoyable, and one of the staff members, an older man on his 50s or 60s with (no hair on the very top of his head but hair on the sides) was extremely rude. His communication skills were poor, and his tone made the experience uncomfortable. The lack of professionalism was disappointing, and I will never recommend this place to anyone. My experience there was the worst I ve ever had, and I would strongly not recommend this place. Thanks.
Good tasted great. Robot service and all that.
Had AYCE sushi here during the dinner service , while it took awhile for the first round of our order to come out the food afterwards began to come quickly. This place still has a bigger AYCE menu the other places in the area. While some rolls are on the bigger size then what you typically get at AYCE I don t have any other complaints
Old lady in front counter stops me me very rudly and I m pretty sure I m not going to be here forever
Delicious food and great service , everything was fresh and the staff were very responsive
My husband and I decided to try this restaurant for my birthday. It was a total disappointment. The waiter forgot my order and I felt like he ignored us as we asked for and received the drinks menu and he never came back to get the order for the entire night... Waste of time.
Amazing food and fast service
Great food
Our families go to Japanese sushi bar!
It was awesome, you can eat is delicious and they have an excellent service.
Fast
Slow sushi, but was a packed restaurant when we were there,
This restaurant did not accommodate my 5 year old child who is TPN dependent. She has a machine where she depends all her nutrition on via TPN - therefore does not eat orally. She had her bags and wires fully visible! We had to still pay for her even if she s is not going to eat anything. Not even a discounted fee or anything. They demanded the full amount just because she will be occupying a seat! The money wasn t really an issue but it s the apathy of this restaurant towards children such as my daughter with medical conditions that really got me upset and concerned about her well being how ugly and apathetic this world can me towards humans like her! Never will I support this selfish business again! We were about to leave but had 2 other little children who was hungry.
I usually do online order from here when i m craving asian cuisine. They aren t bad but last time I ordered their miso soup it tasted horrible. As an asian cuisine your signature soup is usually Miso Soup but how can you mess that up? as well as their beef it s been tasting weird lately.
This is one of my favorite sushi restaurants. I dont live in Durham but every time I go, I try to eat here. Food is very good and lunch is reasonably priced. They have robots bring your food now which is cool. Been going here for years now. Its a great place for lunch
Delicious as always
Its ridiculous to think that a family of four has to either order the all you can eat or from the menu. You all have to order the same thing, unless you split up and sit at different tables.
Came for the all you can eat lunch today (Wednesday); it wasn t busy at all, there were about 6 tables from 2pm-3:30pm. My girlfriend and I ordered a few items to start, then a few more. Some of our orders never came out and so we had to wave down the server and let her know we didn t receive some of our items. She said she will fix it; moments later our order came to use that we didn t receive; but we received our order X3. So we had to wave the server down again and explain we didn t order all the food. When we were ready to pay, a server had asked if we were ready to pay as we told her we are; she said okay and then disappeared. We waited for about 10 minutes before I got up to go get the server so we can pay and leave. It took the server an additional 5 minutes to bring the debit machine out. She apologized and said she was the only server. Even if that was the case and she was the only server, I feel it shouldn t take 15 minutes to bring a debit machine out and the mess up on the food order in contrast with how little people were dinning for lunch at that time.
Some food was ok, while some wasnt. My order of chicken wings were raw in the middle. The chicken teriyaki had a very odd flavour. The robots were pretty cool, but I doubt Ill return.
The food was not at all edible. The spider sushi looks nothing like a typical spider roll. Hard to even eat. So much rice in the sushi s. It was a very bad experience!!!! I paid for bad food, literally for rice. I lost my appetite. With any good customer service they would remove it from your bill or give you a different option, instead they made us paid for food that we did eat or enjoy. The sushis looked all the same and the presentation was awful. I have eaten at several sushi places, but never like this. I think I would have been better buying it at the grocery store. If you are looking for a well made sushi, DO NOT come here. $170.00 for three people and we did not eat the food.
This is a great place for quality sushi! Service is quick and polite. They even have an automated mini waiter.
Sushi delivered via Robot. Vegetarian options: Plenty of veggie options Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options and gluten free soya sauce Kid-friendliness: Booster seats and high chairs available. Children under 2 eat for free.
Delicious food and quick delivery
Great sushi and service. We loved the robots that serve us our food!
Kind of pricey for mediocre food especially on a Monday night.
Love coming here! Worth it!
Loved that we could try a bunch of different things with the All You Can Eat buffet. Food arrived tapas portions and quickly. The robot servers were definitively unique touch and made for a fun experience, however wish the staff were friendlier.
The sushi is not great. The human staff are very friendly.
AYCE is pricey, but everything we ordered was great, food arrived incredibly fast, we got everything we ordered, and they have robots! Great experience all round.
Nice experience
Makimono never disappoints with food but service and ambience is not as good. We ordered at 8:30 pm & the staff brought the cheque after 10 mins before we finished our meal. It s towards the closing time (10 pm) but they were in hurry for some reason. Ambience: 3/5 The interiors are not as intricate and nice as other branches. Vegetarian options: Vegetable Tempura are amazing
Nobody has mentioned that Makimono hasnt had a liquor license for over a month. Whats going on?? Other than this, the food was delicious.
Pleasant people. SUPER clean. Lots of choices, quick, fresh and hot!! A buffet at your table. I will never eat at the Mand**in again! So much to choose from AMAZING.
Me and My boyfriend were there Friday evening, the Food was fantastic, however when ever we order we never got everything we placed. We had to keep asking for things we didnt receive multiple times. It sometimes took half an hour for them to bring it to us. We are not impressed with the lack of service there is now to. Its all Robots.
These waiters and waitresses HATE that you even dared to step foot into their restaurant during business hours.
Service was great. Food was amazing, beef shortribs were to die for, so tender. Would definitely go back.
Ive been a customer of the Oshawa location for years but lately something has changed. Our last dine in experience was fantastic no complaints however, I recently decided to order take out, specifically the chicken and broccoli, portion was great. However, it was EXTREMELY oily, in fact the oil was floating to the top and was very bland. Im assuming it was made fresh because when I arrived to pick up, I had to wait a few minutes for order to be completed, and it wasnt busy. The wait is fine, thats not my complaint, it was the quality of the food. Maybe different chef this evening I dont know. I normally have a 3 strike youre out rule especially for an establishment that Ive been to this long. Im willing to give them another chance and will let them know with kindness the next time I order or dine in. Weve had an issue the last time we requested delivery service as well, thats why I decided to post a review this time.
My review may seem biased, but I absolutely loved this restaurant! Im a sucker for sushi, and so this 5 star is easy to give! Great service, great food, lovely decor. AND! Who doesnt want a little kitty robot as a waiter?! Amazing!
Omg food was amazing. Quick service which we needed. Love the little robots that delivered some of our food. Super nice atmosphere. There was a birthday happening and the little robot even sang happy birthday for the kid. It was cool.
No issues food was good kind of expensive but oh well
Great for sushi.
Very nice sushi, creative menu!
I really enjoyed this place. Their food and service are excellent. I have been to this place a couple of times and hard not to go for the all you can eat option . Give it a try, and you wont be disappointed. Keep up the good work, guys!!
Nice AYCE restaurant with multiple locations across Durham Has your basic sushi buffet variety Drinks not included Sashimi squid (ika) included Good sushi pieces and cooked dishes Good service and robot delivery iPad ordering
Owned by Chinese. We went there at around 9. At first their food is good but at around 10, the chefs probably wants to leave. The beef sashimi was not sliced as thin as around 9. Recommend:skewers and salmon beef sashimi
Some danm good sushi. Interesting that robots serve your food but I hope they still hire the same amount of people...!? Large cozy booths are a plus too Food
Unfortunately the quality of the food here has gone downhill the last 3 times weve been here. It used to be one of our favourite sushi places but I doubt we will go back after this last time.
Robot waiter. With cat ears. Good food. Nice selection. Nice ambience. Ultimately the robo waiter is the best thing. Food
I am a person that eats sushi at least twice a week I have been at makimono at Harmony and Taunton more than 20 times after not going for 6 months I have noticed that Mackiemono Taunton Road and Harmony has completely diminished in quality and quantity. Like I said I am no stranger to makimono and I expect a consistency this time was nothing but a surprise everything that I had ordered was cut in two and served to me as a full order so when ordering something that is supposed to have four pieces they gave you one piece and cut it into four that would be fine if it was your first time being at makimono I have also gotten food from four different makimonos with the request of no sauce this time I was not able to get the same food that I got from so many others with no sauce they just told me that they make it and its marinated in the sauce already like I said I eat a makimono at least twice a week this will be the only makimono that I boycott I strongly suggest that you do not visit this restaurant due to the quality and service thank you youre sincerely. GEOFF DEABREU
This restaurant serves shrimp It has a musty taste bad service
Greeter was friendly and service was ok. Food on the other hand, mediocre at best. Mango salad had the same sweet syrup youd find in your Mango slush drink. I enjoyed 3 things from my whole experience, the spicy shrimp stir fry dish, rainbow roll and the ice cream. The steamed vegetables was done in a gooey sauce that looked interesting. Chicken teriyaki had zero flavour and smelt undercooked. I went for some Me time to enjoy some tasty food before heading back to work and was disappointed! Makimono Oshawa has officially lost a customer. Parking: It was empty as the restaurant had 3 other tables occupied.
Delicious sushi
Good value for the money. Overall good sushi and service.
Really goods combos. Was a little loud but very nice restaurant.
Service was horrible. So you pay for all you can eat right. My wife and I paid $95.00 total and we were going to catch a yuk yuks show after dinner. We had 2 hours to eat. We left on empty stomachs cause it took so long to get our food after we entered it in the iPad. Needless to say we did not get our moneys worth. We even had to ask to get our waters topped up. Told the waiter that we were not impressed. He did little to correct the situation. It was definitely busy in the restaurant. When we did get our food, it was really good. I can say one positive thing, that would be it. I wont be going back. Parking: Very difficult to find a spot to park.
The food is great here. And the little robot wait staff are cute. Its pricey.
I ve been the customer of this restaurant since about 9 yrs ago, even this year I ve been here for lunch several times. I couldn t believe the service of this restaurant at dinner time becomes this bad ..for an ayce dinner of $40 before tax, the service at dinner time now is worse than a fish market food stand. Walked in at 7:30 and finished dinner there within about an hour. At least 35 mins were waiting for the food. Not a busy time, about 4 waitresses, but only one was really working and taking care of customers. 1st order waited 20 mins and 2nd order waited 15 mins. No one came to refill water, waived hand and called waitress and nobody paid attention to customer needs. We finished within about an hour and that was almost 1.5 hrs before their store closing time. There was a girl mopped floor so wet on the way we need to leave the store. When we were having icecream, a girl pulled a dirty dishes cart started to clean our table, she even spilled some food waste on my dress. Also if you look at the picture, the bowl for tempura sauce is so small, the sauce is so little, if you dip the shrimp tempura, you have to dip- bite-dip again, how can you do that when you share the sauce with others. This store now becomes so low and dirty while charges an expensive price. The owner/manager should take this issue seriously
never eating here again.. Ordered one plate of food and found this in my broccoli, we let the waiter know right away and was still charged $40 after asking to leave. I love this place but I will never be going again.. this is messed up. Why is there a bug in my food?
Very disappointed. Ordered yam tempura, it was soft and mushy. Ordered the spicy California roll... nothing spicy about it. Ordered the deluxe dragon roll for $14.50, there were no tempura bits. We ordered it for the crunch, there was no crunch at all. The presentation was very sloppy and uneven. I had high expectations for makimono.... but sadly disappointed. Will not order again.
One of the best places for sushi in Oshawa. Great service and great food quality.
The place/atmosphere is pleasant and spacious. Waiters are attentive, but when it comes to food, I prefer Tokushima Sushi.
It was a very bad experience!!!! the hot dishes food was cold and the shrimp tasted rotten. I paid for bad food. I lost my appetite as we kept on eating food that tasted off!!!! We left unsatisfied and disappointed, really awful experience. If I could give it a zero star rating, I would ve. The food was stale, we waited a while to be seated, and the table we were at was sticky and left us uncomfortable. We will not return.
I visited the restaurant recently and unfortunately had a pretty unpleasant experience. The taste of the food was quite off, to be honest. The table we were appointed to seemed like it hadnt been properly cleaned, and the overall hygiene was questionable. Its a shame because a clean and tasty dining experience is what makes a customer happy and willing to return.
First time ever going to this location will be returning wonderful service great food very clean restaurant and washrooms unlike Whitby
miso soup was great
Always love this place. Never disappoints
Always my go to spot for japanese. I always gat a bento box and always for take out. Good portions, good food and always on time.
Great and clean place. Everything was fresh and tasty. Defenetly recommend
My favourite Sushi restaurant always great food
Worth a revisit.
I loved this gyoza s and the dumplings. They also sell wings.I recommend this restaurant for every Japanese food lover
Went with my daughter and brothers for sushi. It was a buffet. My daughter is 2 years old which means she was free. My daughter ate some food and later on they charged me for my daughter saying that she ate too much . This sudden change of policy just because a toddler ate some food really disappointed me.
Great spot for the whole family, Fair prices and speedy service
Great variety on the menu. Dishes look great. Service is fun with robots! Atmosphere is lacking.
Excellent food
This has been our sushi place for the last 11 years,we always get AYCE. food is always fantastic. Service is always on point, the robo servers are pretty cool too. Prices have been creeping up, but that could be said about any restaurant. We love it
Not a bad place..first time here. Wasnt busy or crowded, but a lot of confusion with orders and receiving some items long after they were ordered. Food itself was pretty decent. Would definitely give them a second chance.
The best
If youre not a real sushi eater but love cslifornia rolls & variety.. this place is for you
Average sushi experience.
Portion sizes are nice and big I got a dinner and next day lunch out of my meal for 16$
Awesome place with robots that serve you. However, I would have like a human stopping by a little more often.
They have robots.........
Food was really gross and made us sick. Threw out the rest of the meal. The tuna rolls are made with canned tuna... Thats all you need to know.
Great place to eat. The food is fresh, and service is always good. A little on the pricey side, but most places are for all you can eat. Love the robots that bring you your dinner! The kiddos get a kick out of it.
Great as always!
Great food! We loved it. Our granddaughter loved the roomba food servers! Yah robots Vegetarian options: Lots of options Kid-friendliness: Yes. Our 20 month old granddaughter loved it! Wheelchair accessibility: Yes
We really love this place. Delicious food and great service.
All you can eat great service and food
Parking: Decent parking lot but super busy on weekends. Kid-friendliness: Definitely somewhere to bring the kids! Wheelchair accessibility: Yes!
Good Teriyaki meals (cooked) bento box includes small soup & salad. Lunch menu price are fair. Kid-friendliness: Our kids loves the food and the robot cat.
I loved all of the types I tried. I wish if they had french frise on the menu. Other than that, everything is amazing. If you can eat your moneys worth then it is the place for you.
My favorite restaurant
I usually order all my sushi from this restaurant.. after today I will never spend another dollar here. I ordered dinner for myself and sat outside waiting for the notification that it was ready. Once I got the notification, I went inside and was greeted with the most disrespectful and unprofessional employee I think they have. She was serving tables and I saw her cleaning some on the way out if that gives any idea as to who it could be . I walked in and showed her my phone and politely told her I was here to pick up my order, she took maybe a half a second to look at the counter and told me it wasn t ready and said I needed to wait. Which was absolutely fine, but I POLITELY explained that I got a notification from the restaurant saying my order was ready and that it s no rush but that s why I came inside when I did. I absolutely understand food needing to take time and that was far from my issue. I had no problem with waiting, however after I explained that I had received the notification, she gave me the most snarky and stuck up face I ve ever seen and almost seemed like she was mocking me when she repeated herself that it wasn t ready. She didn t say a word after that and left to go clean a table. Another really kind woman wearing a mask came up to me less than 2 seconds later and handed me my food. Needless to say I won t ever return because of this one woman s attitude problem.
Excellent food and service
Excellent service, food was tasty, fresh and hot. The robot servers were a cool addition, too!
Totally overrated and overpriced. We went around 4:30 in the afternoon so it wasn t overly busy. In the past we ve gone here and the last few times we were sure that we didn t get as much food as we had ordered via the iPad they give you so this time we did our best to pay attention. Sure enough several items we ordered, all the more expensive, seafood type foods, were forgotten . We had to ask three times for them to bring various items that they said the chef must have just forgot about. The process was even more difficult since half the time or more the food was delivered by a robot so no person to ask or check in with. We served and sent back most of our finished plates by ourselves. My husband tried to ask a server for more wine but she just dropped a plate on the table as she kept walking think drive-by eating. The bill was also insane. For 2 adults and four children under 15 it was 250.00. The only drinks were two tiny glasses of wine, the rest was water. The server, who we only saw when we had to track down our food and when we got our wine, automatically added a 15% tip onto the bill before it even got to us and we were hurried out because the evening rush was coming in. This is not a place where you want to spend 250.00. The food is good for what it is, but the atmosphere, service, and attention is as transactional as a McDonalds. There are far better independent sushi places nearby.
Take-out. Havent been here in a while. They still had dead Christmas planters at the entrance. The restaurant was empty. The food was not good or plentiful. We wont be back.
always top notch. lunch all-you-can-eat is hands-down the best restaurant deal in town.
It was a pretty good experience they got a little waiter robot. Food was yummy but there was a kid screaming for a majority of the meal somewhere occasionally ear piercing howling.
Service at this location is horrible! Quality of food also has declined since Covid. Every time we come here they try to usher us out quickly, even at the door they tell us before we even sit down ! Half the restaurant is even closed down and you can t sit anywhere!! Very annoying and frustrating. Will not be going there anymore !!
Food was good but came out soooo slow because they use the robots.
Everything about this place was great; food was excellent and staff very friendly.
All you can eat dinner was ok, plenty of choices and some were very unique. Prices were high compared to counterparts in the GTA and surrounding areas. Sashimi and sushi were high quality, but the cooked dishes were ok in comparison. The service was a mix of humans and robots. Human staff were good, but the robots were clumsy, loud and unsettling to see. With robots being used to replace the human staff, tipping should not be expected, but this is a socially sensitive subject
Food, service and ambiance has not change still very good. An additional feature is their robot serving the food which is somewhat cute and fun not just for kids but for adults as well. And this restaurant has always keep their cleanliness.
Typical all you can eat bad sushi.
Parking: This is a chain... food quality, tastes and service is lacking. I can see why some people dont like sushi if they have tried it here Food
Actually, we five people went in for having a quick bite/snack and ordered few items, but no one told us in weekends they have only buffet. So when the bill came it was like full buffet fee for few snack bites. So be care-full . Food was ok ok. Not that great but ok. Food
Great experience for my first time here. Will come again! Food was amazing
Great food, were regulars for take out and the food is as fresh and delicious as if we were dining in the restaurant. Very friendly staff as well.
Watched two employees try to refuse entry to a woman with a service dog tonight, after treating her like garbage they finally seated her, only to come to her table and say insane things to her for over 20 minutes. Trying to tell her her service dog would scare customers, or an employee might have an allergy. The woman with the dog very politely explained the laws as stated in the Discrimination Act, only to be told be the worker that she was wrong. The woman and dog were nothing but calm and behaved, but the two women they had to put up with should honestly be fired for their disgusting behaviour and discrimination. Absolutely pathetic to treat anyone like they did, I will never again go here or recommend it to anyone.
A great place and servers are patient with kids. This is my second time here and we enjoyed it. The kids love watching and the robots go by. As far as food goes, for all you can eat sushi this is a very good place and having sashimi during lunch hours on weekends is excellent (not sure if they have that on weekdays). I will definitely go back there again. Parking: Parking is in a plaza. Kid-friendliness: The staff were kind with the kids and handled toddlers curious questions very well.
Love this place for all you can eat sushi!!! The staff are kind, the food is great, the atmosphere is pleasant and the little delivery robots are adorable. Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetable rolls and dishes Parking: Big parking lot Wheelchair accessibility: Easy to get in ans out, lots of space in the restaurant
The salad portions were hilariously small, but its all you can eat, so you can just order 5, lol. The sashimi didnt taste fresh, but overall, the food was good.
Be ware of blatant racism at this establishment. Stereotypes, prejudice and misinformation should not be part of the experience where we spend our hard earned money!
Amazing atmosphere, very fancy and sophisticated, food is served via cute robots, they have excellent food and variety of sushi squid and octopus was very fresh i love these prices are quite resonable if you get 2 large sushi platters and some extras expect 30$ per person, would recomend the experience [ however go later in the night to avoid children ]
Beware of this location! My friend and I had gone here for dinner over the weekend as we love sushi. Two days later and we both have severe food poisoning symptoms.
Sat down 30 mins later they were ready to take our order and handed is a take out menu and sharpie and siad order your self and left 15 mins later they never came back and we left
Been here few years ago.. still best food, great atmosphere and good service.
The buffet is not worth and not good . Not the best sushi place ! The food is not good . Didn t like any of the sushi s here.
Good food & service! I recommend the 007 special roll only available in dinner menu oshawa location place is clean and good service. Even weekend is really busy but you can see that servers trying to accomodate our request. Definitely will come back again!
The food looked beautiful but lacked flavour. We sampled many 20+ items but only found maybe 5 where we said, that tastes great. We were disappointed. Considering we paid $37.99/person, we felt that it was too expensive for a less than WOW experience.
Good service, food comes out fast and fresh. Great selection of sushi. My only complaint is the womans washroom, it was really dirty and smelly. Hope they can take steps to improve the condition in the washroom.
There is no other Japanese Restaurant we go to that equals or surpasses this one. The food is consistently excellent. Their salmon sashimis are the thickest weve found anywhere. Introducing robot servers have added to the great experience!
Perfect food taste and presentation. Prompt service. Value for money! Parking: Easy parking Food : 5/5 |
Favourite sushi restaurant. Doesnt matter the location oshawa, ajax, toronto (this ones closest to home).
Awesome fun atmosphere, great selection, food comes quick, robots are a fun twist. Lots of humans to help out though
Had my birthday party here with a big group and it was PERFECT!
I got exactly what i paid for and it was delicious and i had enough napkins Vegetarian options: You can find vegetarian options here Food : 5/5 |
Nice place, had lunch there with a friend and it was very busy. The service was lacking a little bit but otherwise I like the all you can eat. The tablets are nice way to order everything you want. The robots are kind of cute but I find it weird that they bring some things and the servers bring some things too. Otherwise the food was really good. We enjoyed it over all.
Good food as how All you can watch sushi should be. I am giving 4 star just bcoz they didn t have dessert in their menu
Good food, nice variety and quick service
Delicious food, fast service and a great atmosphere all around
Its the best quality AYCE in Oshawa. Largest variety for sure .
This place would NOT accommodate my gluten allergy. Every other Makimono has no problem in doing so. I asked for a very simple accommodation. Absolutely disgusted with the customer service and lack of accommodation. Get with the times, people! If you have a gluten allergy DONT BOTHER going. They dont care!
Real nice.
The food presentation is excellent. The taste itself was a different experience. I pretty much worked my way through the entire menu looking for an exciting experience for my palate and did not find anything near that. People are friendly but theres a definite lack of attentiveness and it s all just a bit mediocre. And what s up with the stack a chairs at the front?
very good food. A few of the servers were a bit rude and snobby when coming around and taking plates. Vegetarian options: loads of vegetarian options, broad menu. Many foods and dishes to try and its perfect because they all come in small portions. Parking: it is in a plaza, so theres loads of parking, but getting into the plaza may be slightly annoying. If youre on one side, you cant get in, and you have to turn around to get in. Kid-friendliness: Kids can eat here, they would love the robots that bring yiur food.
This place has really, really gone downhill, and yet more expensive than ever. We will definitely not be back.
Didnt expect $37.99 for all you can eat, but I must say it was delicious.
Great restaurant for both sushi and non sushi eaters.
One of our favorite Sushi places to go. Always fast and delicious food
Waitress mess my order but other than that is ok
Love the catbot..... If you know, you know! Comfy gel seats with a big selection of food that knows exactly how to hit the spot. How is it that I always leave full, but never feel full.... Makes you think! Great spot, never missed , worth the visit.
Also a go to for any group get together. This was also where my mom and I would go for one another birthdays. Parking: Around dinner time this lot can very rather small. Lots of spots for lunch
Best sushi in town
Super fast and high quality food with a large variety. I was disappointed that there wasnt any tuna sashimi but hopefully it gets added to the menu. Side note, the delivery robot was hilarious. Staff would say excuse me to it as they walked by it as if it were another Staff member lol
Very good unlimited food, makes my taste buds spin
This place 8 years ago was a really good place for ayce sushi, now its just an average ayce with less selection.
Always great service and good food.
Edit: now a couple years later, things seem to be different. Dec 10th 2023, I went here with a family of 6 to celebrate a birthday. The service was slow, and they brought us about 2/3 of what we ordered. At the end of the meal, nobody asked how it was, but applied a forced 15% tip. I emailed them the next day and talked about my experience. No reply. Based on this, I can only assume they short-changed us on purpose. What a rip-off. Not going back. My OLD review: Absolutely excellent sushi! For people that are not into the whole raw fish idea, there are a ton of other great options for Japanese cuisine. I ve brought a few people here that don t do sushi and they loved the place. I ve also brought a few sushi lovers that swear this is the best they have ever had! If you are in Oshawa, this is by far your best bet for Japanese! Attached is a photo of my friend that doesn t like sushi enjoying a meal here.
