Saw Crazy Diamond , had lunch and beers, Was a nice local pub with pool tables & darts. Lots of parking.
I ordered steak and lobster as takeout last night, and both were impressively fresh and flavorful. The steak had a subtle smoky depth and was expertly seasoned, making for an excellent meal. Even with takeout, the experience was enhanced by the friendly and professional service from the gentleman who assisted me. My only suggestion would be for the mashed potatoes to have a creamier, more indulgent consistency to better complement the rest of the dish.
i wish the owners would wise up and make the band area nicer to look at i feel like i am looking at a renovation- put down a nice tapestry carpet and maybe do a new orleans type mural on the wall behind the musicians- stop being so cheap - there are a lot of people in the community coming out for you
The food was okay. Nookie's burger was better than my pad Thai. The chicken. Pad Thai was really dry and a bit overpriced compared to the area. The atmosphere was fine. They had a band playing on Sunday, and music was blasting. It was a little too much. The band was good, though. Portion sized were good.
Food is disgusting not fresh. I have ordered from this location many times before always enjoyed the food. Today’s order food quality degraded to Zero. Chicken is stinky and old no flavour and rice was soggy and feels like microwaved. Seafood was stinky and old and disgusting. You guys should be ashamed to serve your guest this type of garbage food. The worst part your garbage cost me over $50.
Food is great, portions are good but they are a priced little higher compared to other bars in the area. Service is good, ambience is good, they have a snooker table and live bands playing. Veggie burger was prepared in house fresh with vegetables unlike other patties(beyond meat/soy). If you’re a vegetarian then you should definitely try this one!
Food is ok. Tried twice, both were pastas. Wouldn't order again but it wasn't terrible . The Alfredo penne was a bit undercooked and the chicken Annabelle had a lot going on I find the chicken to taste pre cooked and frozen chicken I couldn't eat the chicken unfortunately it definitely was not fresh & both pastas were greasy . Maybe they will get better at it or maybe pasta just isn't their signature food
I've ordered off the menu a few times now and I am hooked. Quickly becoming a favorite with my friends and family as well. Try the burger. The rye bread on the Reuben is fantastic. The samosa are beautiful and spicy. Pretty sure they're handmade?!?
I got very bad food poisoning from the triple dip
There was only one waitress on. She was very pleasant but very rushed . It took a long time to get our bills.

Service, food, and atmosphere left a lot to be desired. If you want to experience Nookies at its finest, drive to Port Hope. Its a completely different experience!
Ordered a rotisserie chicken wrap. The chicken had zero flavor. Not rotisserie at all. Was very disappointed. Not of my sauces were added. Very dry and plain.
Found this place on Door Dash and it is awesome. Amazing lobster Mac and cheese but everything Ive ordered Ive loved. 10/10
Dear Nookies Owner, While I ve always been satisfied with your Western food menu and appreciate the enthusiastic service your staff provides especially the attentive waitress/bartender I need to address a serious concern about your South Asian takeout options. Recently, I ordered the chicken biryani and mutton curry, attracted by the appealing stock photos in your menu. However, it s clear that your kitchen has no idea how to prepare authentic South Asian dishes. The biryani was made with the wrong type of rice and spices, completely missing the mark. Charging $15 for this poor excuse of a biryani is unacceptable, and the mutton curry was even worse absolutely pathetic. I ended up paying $45 for a meal that was sketchy at best and unimpressive in every way. If you re going to offer South Asian cuisine, I strongly suggest you learn how to make it properly before rushing to sell it. Please address this issue immediately!
Update July 2024 My previous review was glowing. A 5 star is now a 2 star rating due to bad business practices. The restaurants focus is now that of a bar. I no longer visit the restaurant the amazing chef is now gone replaced by a chef who is incapable of making the simplest of foods such as fish and chips and salads. I could not keep spending money on food that I could hardly eat. Nookie s Soul Kitchen ~ Don t miss out Wow There is nowhere in Durgam region that can compare to Nookie s. The menu is very extensive and cooked to perfection. Their pricing given the quality of their dishes is fantastic. Treat yourself to a dining experience that wont disappoint

Great makeover. So nice to have a neighbourhood spot to have some awesome good, hear some great tunes and support local talent. Sweet potato fries are thr brst Ive ever had. Crisp, perfect little crunch but fluffy. Louisiana chicken sandwich was super tasty, too. Kind of like a schnitzel cutlet. Soo soo good with their special southern sauce. Highly recommend!
Wonderful place for live music. Great sound and atmosphere. Please support the local musicians, they are there because they love to entertain.
Very sad that they offered free pool only to show up and be told we have to pay for pool. There are also no cues so you have to bring your own... Why bother having it if nobody can use it? If the pool was free Id have kept coming back over and over but now Im going to find somewhere else to play.
Such a great food place! Decided to order from here and definitely was not disappointed, the food tasted so good and the poutine was my favorite, definitely would eat here again.

Wow! The food is delicious here! We originally went to Nookies in Port Hope. It was really good there too. The owner/chef Moe is so nice and his food is so good we just keep coming back. I love the pork schnitzel dinner with the white cream sauce. My husband loves the onion soup and beef sandwich. You can t go wrong with anything on the menu. Both locations have friendly servers and great service. The Oshawa location is a very new and modern open space with fireplace inserts in the wall and large bar area and lots of table and chairs and booths. The back room is huge with pool tables etc and restrooms. There is lots of parking. The prices at both restaurants are very reasonable. I highly recommend these locations in Oshawa and Port Hope. The breakfast menu looks really good too with good prices and lots to choose from. The desserts here are so good. The carrot cheese cake I love and lava cake and he also has key lime pie. Don t miss out on these gem of restaurants!
Went here last night around 9pm. First visit for us, we like to try new places. We both ordered the Reuben sandwich. The sandwich itself was good, but they dont put very much meat on it. A Reuben tends to be overfilled with meat and this one had about half the amount as anywhere else. Would also have liked more sauerkraut as I could barely taste it. The potato soup and sweet potato fries were great. Price was good, menu is huge. Our server possibly was new and could use more training on the drinks and menu items but she was very nice. We will definitely be back.

We were there on a Sunday listening to a blues band they had in, such talent and terrific atmosphere. The food is absolutely delicious. We will definitely be back. Oshawa needed a place like this!
Visited for lunch and had a wrap with fries. It wasnt what I expected being labeled as a soul kitchen but definitely didnt disappoint. A massive upgrade from when it used to be the pump and players bench. Absolutely worth a try. Good food at a reasonable price.

We always went to Nookie in Port hope and have family close to the new Oshawa locations. It was amazing. Love the jerk chicken fettuccine nice and authentic and spicy huge serving with so much chicken. Great food a must have.
