Sherry was a great waitress. Very funny and made our evening out with friends an even better experience. Went again and ordered the Ultimate Burger Challange. If you eat in 25 mins get free coconut cream pie. This burger was delicious. A must try. Food

I have nothing but horrible things to say about this establishment. but the main thing to know is, if you are a person of color, avoid this establishment at all costs. The staff were noticeably ruder to me - the white couple ahead of us were treated with all smiles , but the second it was my turn you could see the smile on the waitresss face drop. Every question was answered with a short quick reply. Didnt even acknowledge when i thanked her. I watched tables who ordered before me receive their meal, while we had to wait. I dont know what person in the right mind would want to eat here after this kind of treatment.

Update 2024. Like fine wine, Teddys gets better with age. Its been a few years since I had the pleasure of dining here, and it was as great as I remember. I had the 1lb deli sandwich, and it was great! 4.5 Solid experience. I tried going here a while ago, and the line-up was almost out the door. Im not waiting 45 minutes. This time I chose my time a bit more carefully and was rewarded by no wait, and a restaurant that was just ending its lunch rush. Of course a busy place is never a bad thing. Slow restaurants make me nervous. Food was really good, I had the Philly steak sandwich, and my eating partner has the Teddy burger, which is a burger with bacon. Both were very reasonably priced, prepared the way they should be, not overly salty or over cooked. Portions seemed small because the plate was large! I was stuffed after. Cheryl was very nice, super quick and made sure we were taken care of. Food came out faster than I expected, which is always a nice surprise. Seating was good, lots of booths, which always seem in short supply at other restaurants. Would definitely go back, there are so many items on the menu worth trying.

Food is always good and the service is great. There can be long lines, so show up early on weekends.

.The observation of someones outerwear/appearance, does not qualify service to condescend upon being a local thats hungry, and paid to eat many times at a fixture/hub called Teddys. There was no name request upon original call for ordering, just a phone number, and once entered, the wanting to pay for good food, was looked down upon in tones of judgment on an almost $90.00 bill, as they attempted to correct my specifications. I then had to remind them, that I am a Google Maps Guide at a level 7 (Internationally),and can affect your rating, if youre rude to me for no reason, despite me being polite. Sarcasm of, after a moral correction of, - was Have a Nice Day Sir, prompted me to rerate the experience. Until my next order, if handled with the same down the nose experience, will not allow me to buy more, and a lower rating of customer service will remain even lower... Otherwise, Teddys is good food, often an older crowd of clicks/locals, kempt, and the artworks or classic photos from earlier American Pop culture, is dynamic and interesting... Youd make more money, if you didnt act coldly, and treated every customer, unknown or not, with equal respect and dignity. 3 attempts to condescend a single and expensive pickup order, will definitely cost you business, so next time, please treat me as an equal human, Thank You...and You, have a great day Maam...3 days later...-it was a failure, of course...i now have to reiterate the rating..as, during my caregiving, i have to let them know I will no longer set foot in this space as a Google Maps Guide laughed at, and mocked/served before a seperate customer i was there before..rudely, as Im secretly spoken about. The almost $100.00 order can be picked up by the person themselves, whos failing health, can walk up those stairs of YuppieVille and condescension, because my pride is more powerful than Neanderthal. Fun spot. Busy on a Sunday afternoon but worth the wait. Had the roast beef and turkey sandwich. Lots of food. Get a dip with it or gravy.

The food was delicious and the prompt and courteous emails we shared back and forth, I knew this was just as important to you as it was to us. THANK YOU to James, Jessica and all the cooks and soys chefs who helped us have a great meal all together rather than being alone.

Sent an order to family having a rough go. Ordered on line everything went perfectly. We are out west and everything was perfect down to the timing of delivery was exact. o NOT order delivery from TEDDYS. They have no tracking and no control over the drivers. Lots of excuses . Not their fault. . . After 1 hour of being told it s on the way . I was refunded but they didn t know if the order would be delivered. SERIOUSLY ? I had family hungry and waiting. After 20 years I ll never eat there again. I know Teddys isn t the family owned restaurant it was but the incompetent management is beyond belief. They ve destroyed 50 years of service to the community.

We ve been to Teddy s Restaurant & Deli a few times, and we were so excited to go back and try their new menu items! Our experience was awesome and our waitress, Tracy, was the sweetest so friendly and genuinely attentive. She made us feel like we were right at home. That kind of service just makes you want to keep coming back (thats why were back~)! Teddy s has been a local staple for over a couple decades, and it s easy to see why. The portions are huge, the prices are great, and the vibe is so cozy, like you re eating in a family kitchen. Every time we come here, a lineup is a normal sight. Here s what we got into this time around: New Menu Items: Avocado Turkey Club Melt: This was a total hit! Creamy avocado, juicy turkey, and perfectly toasted bread it was fresh, filling, and delicious. Teddy s Cobb Salad: Super satisfying! Packed with fresh ingredients and plenty of protein, this salad is great if you re in the mood for something a bit lighter but still filling. Blueberry Crumble Cheesecake (Limited Time): Wow, this dessert was everything we hoped for! Creamy cheesecake with a blueberry topping and the perfect crumble. It s a must-try if you re a cheesecake fan grab it while it s on the menu! And of course, we couldn t leave without ordering some classics: Coconut Dreams Shake: This shake tastes like a tropical vacation in a glass! So creamy and full of coconut flavor. Perfect treat to go with the meal! Classic Hot Sandwich (Mom s all-time fave): Total comfort food. The tender meat, soft bread, and rich gravy are just right. Mom gets it every time and never regrets it! Strawberry Pie (my favorite): I can t leave Teddy s without a slice of this. The crust is perfectly flaky, and the strawberries are so fresh. It s the best way to end a meal here. So, whether you re trying their new items or sticking with the classics, Teddy s is always a win. If you re in Oshawa, you ve gotta stop by! You ll leave happy, full, and probably already planning your next visit.

Best corned beef and Reuben sandwich anywhere!

I have been going to Teddys for years worth my family and friends. We always enjoyed the food and service until today. I learned that if you want more that one little cup of mayonnaise for anything, like the turkey club, the limit is 1 per customer. If I go again I will bring my own mayonnaise. Is there some shortage Im not aware of? When the waitress told me I thought she was joking but the manager \ new owners have put a hidden policy in place. If they have started cutting corners for condiments then what else are they doing that we dont know about. Was enjoying the time out with my family until that point. Call ahead if you want extra anything! They didnt even give is the opportunity to by extra which I thought was extremely odd. Wheelchair accessibility: They have a ramp and 2 accessible parking spots but food drivers park there as its near the take out.

I am writing on behalf of my family who ordered $150.00 worth of dinner this evening for a birthday. My family and I are so disappointed in the food quality from Teddys. It s been years since we ve ordered and we recently thought it would be great to try their food again for a birthday celebration. We ordered dinner for 6 people. First and foremost, the French fries were warm and soggy. None of us ate them. My mother ordered the sirloin and it was warm and tough. My step dad also tried a bite and confirmed it was chewy and had hard fat in the middle (photo shown before I gave it to my Labrador for dinner). We typically eat higher qualities of meat from local farms and this meal reminded us why we don t usually eat out. The chicken salad club sandwich was horrible. This was my meal. The chicken salad was extremely salty. Also, the sandwich was wrapped up in tinfoil paper and when I opened it the bread was wet and soggy with the chicken salad slopped all over the inside. Lastly, my son had the children s spaghetti and red meat sauce. My grandmother, mother, step father, husband and brother all couldn t believe the portion of the sauce that was slopped on top of the warm noodles. Two tablespoons at best. I ended up opening a can of red sauce at my moms and making more so my young child could enjoy a proper pasta dish. Teddys quality has gone downhill significantly over the years. As a young woman who grew up in Oshawa, going to Teddys decades ago was such a treat. I have fond memories of having family meals at the restaurant and at home as their food was fresh, hot and tasty. This experience has been terrible and very saddening as we were looking forward to a nice family birthday meal. My family and I feel as if our time and money has been wasted as food was thrown out and food had to be remade or cooked in order to enjoy it. We will never eat at Teddys again. We wouldn t recommend this restaurant to family and friends or anyone in the community. Very low quality ingredients and foods.

Had the most delicious food while sampling some of their new fall menu items. They are the perfect restaurant for families looking for great food, awesome service and an eclectic upbeat atmosphere! Their commitment to community and their customers is undeniable. Kid-friendliness: Great selection on the kids menu place the have colouring contests for the kiddos to participate in.

Theres nothing like the taste of grandmas home cooking. The old-fashioned dishes in theirs menu bring you good and warm memories. Youll comfort food classic, from roasted beef, turkey dinner to soups and sandwiches. And of course, grandma always had something sweet waiting for you when you visited, coconut cream pie, pudding... or both.

Good food, really crowded but service was still great. Came in again and were not disappointed!!! New menu started 2024-Oct-01. Does not disappoint. Also really happy to see that they still make a REAL club sandwich with the layers instead of the interpretations people are calling club sandwiches now. Love Teddys. And can you beat the coconut cream pie?

We order take out from here fairly frequently sometimes phases, but the staff are always so polite, and friendly - even during their busiest rush. (Not that it shouldn t be a norm but I am also a bartender/server and we all have our days. It s not always easy to put certain comments or annoyances behind us in the moment) We haven t dined in recently but food is always great when we order for pick up. Portion sizes for a 2 piece Chicken Parm feeds the two us sometimes leftovers! Only because we also order multiple soups. Their soup is actually probably the top reason why we order from here Anyways, full belly tonight! Happy! Thank you Teddy s.

My wife and I usually get take out however when we do dine in EVERYTHING is 5 STAR for the STARLINGS Vegetarian options: Contrary to what Bart Simpson says... You CAN make friends with SALAD. Teddys offers a lot of choices AND special orders dont upset them. Parking: PARKING - Right outside Teddys. There is Accessible parking available with ramps leading from the ground right up to the main door.

We have always loved eating at Teddys Restaurant, and enjoy it even more now with the excellent Sunday morning breakfast. We were thrilled this week to be welcomed by James, who along with his father are the new owners of Teddys. We like Teddys even more under the new management where the servers no longer wear those awful burgundy costumes. This is such a friendly restaurant. The menu still has long time favourites on it but has also introduced new dishes. Bravo, Teddys Restaurant !

Yes the brothers sold the restaurant years ago . But food is still ok thou I find their recipe for coconut creme pie has changed but its still pretty tasty before the pandemic hit. Waitress was out to lunch

I came here for the first time and was blown away! My boyfriend got the broccoli and cheddar soup (which he said was the best soup he s ever had) and he got the filet of sole. I ordered the spicy chicken Caesar which was delicious. We enjoyed every bit of our meal and our waitress was very friendly! I m looking forward to coming back.

Every time I order from them, something is always wrong and they re very expensive and good luck getting any sort of refund. Tonight I ordered slices of the strawberry pie in which three desserts came none of which was what I ordered. I was lied to and told that they tried to call me and it went straight to voicemail, which I don t have voicemail so clearly nobody tried to call me. The desserts that they sent even if they sent two of each slice, it would equate to the price of the strawberry pie so either way I got completely ripped off as I usually do by this restaurant

Felt very uncomfortable. Portions were very small. Not very tasty. And I asked for a proper take out container to bring a large fries home insted of a tiny frie top open hand held type of frie holder. I had to pay $1.50 for the container. Not to mention. I ordered 1 fountain drink, 1 large fries and grave, 1 cheese curd poutine. Then a large fries to go and a tiny little gravy to go. That was $30.90 with text. Then I paid like I said $1.50. For the container for the fries. Absolutely appalled with this whole experience. The 2 customers had mentioned the portions of food change up for theor orders each time they go. All in all I think they try here. But its not my cup of tea. Save your money and cook at home. Good luck Vegetarian options: Salad and remove most of the items from them. Bring your own dressing Dietary restrictions: Dont really have accommodation for dietary restrictions. You just have to find something that you can eat or dont eat Kid-friendliness: Never was given a kid menue or told of one when there. I have my child with me.

We had a wonderful dinner here tonight! There were two couples and we had to wait about 10 minutes to get a table. They do not take reservations. I had three veal parmesan and it was absolutely wonderful. There was more food than I am used to eating. The veal was tender, the spaghetti was perfectly cooked. The sauce was wonderful! The four of us shared one piece of strawberry pie since the ladies only wanted a bite each. We still struggled to eat it all! My mother ordered a half portion and my wife took half of her meal home! Dad did not complete his whole meal but there wasnt enough left to package up. Well done Teddys staff! Special thanks to Shelley, our waitress. The food came quickly and our water was topped up regularly. All that and a very pleasant demeanor also. All these little things mean so much. It was a wonderful experience.

Do you know when you have to concede to the fact that one of your favourite restaurants (for your entire) life has gone downhill and isn t worth the money they charge? Sorry Teddys. I ve given you numerous times to make it up but it just is what it is. After calling to speak to the manager they told me that none of their recipes have changed and that everything is the same as the original owners. Not true. To top it all off, only one soup available seems to be available now, chicken veg. And they ve managed to ruin that somehow also. The soup is around $7, and this is without a spoonful missing. Brutal

Best pie in town! Probably the region. I would drive from Toronto or as far as Kitchener to eat this coconut cream pie! The sandwiches and dinners are good too. But the pies are not to be missed! The place is usually fairly crowded but you can still get seated and served fairly quickly.

I had the roast beef and roasted potatoes and their was one really bad , it turned me off and then the carrots werent cooked . Ive been going to this restaurant since I was in my twentys and never had a bad meal until tonight . What a big disappointment.

Horriorrible service by Maureen. Rude. Condescending. Such a crusty behaviour. Showed no respect. I ordered coconut pie, should be simple. I came with 5 other folks. But I felt like she didnt want to take my order. Everyone else had their full plates served first. Then she delivered mine the last. When I asked for my order she argued with me downplaying my order in a very rude and crusty manner. When I finished my pie, she didnt take away my plate even though mine was done first and my plate is the closest one to her path. This is a very bad service. Not impressed at all. She shouldnt be working like this. If every Server is like this, Teddys reputation will be tarnished.

I dined here on March 15, 2024. I had the Chipotle Turkey Club Wrap, which was tasty, but I had the worst food poisoning for the following two days - so awful that I almost ended up at the hospital. My partner did call the restaurant to let them know, and they were apologetic, but it doesn t change the fact that I won t be back.

Eat at Teddys because its been in business for decades. Eat there because the service is excellent, the food is excellent and its well priced. Historic atmosphere unchanged, that is what gives it charm!

Ive been twice. 2nd time I noticed the prices. Side of fries 5.25 and it was so small. I understand prices inflation. But 6 meals all had fries for 5 bucks each. And it wasnt even bigger then McDonalds small fries. Kinda disappointed food was fine. Hot service was great. Just ticked me off. Seeing everyones plates with no fries. Kinda like they didnt make enough and just tried to get our 6 meals out together vs waiting for more fries. Idk.

I remember from years past the liver was my favourite meal at Teddys. This time the liver was 1/2 as thick as before so I should have ordered it rare since medium cooked it right through. The mashed potatoes were not totally mashed as there was a large chunk in there. The gravy was good but too much. The onions were nicely done. Dessert was the best ~ strawberry compilation ~ awesome.

Teddys was recommended by a local dealership and they were spot on! What a wonderful restaurant in the heart of Oshawa. Prices are reasonable and portions were plentiful. Many patrons around me were taking leftovers home. Very fast service from the time you arrive till you receive your check. Wait staff continually check on you to see if everything is alright. You was told but didn t ask, they do not serve alcohol but cannot confirm. Highly recommend Teddy s! Parking: Restaurant is located adjacent to a strip mall so there is free parking. I was there during the week day and restaurant was not too busy so there appeared to be plenty of parking. Wheelchair accessibility: I noticed a few people with walkers and one in a wheelchair.

Amazing as always. Prices have increased since we last visited but thats to be expected everywhere. Had the Poor Boys sandwich.... Holy Cow.. What a meal... And we only had the sandwich! Yummy!

Will never order the roast beef sirloin meal again. Theyve switched from frozen peas, to CANNED and theyre HARD. Yuck! But the roast was amazing as always. Cost goes up, quality goes down. These are a dull olive green colour, whereas before, they were grass/bright green. Those definitely werent frozen or fresh. Also TASTED canned. I love peas. I can definitely tell the difference

Wow the service was great. All of the employees were very personable, especially our waitress Tracy. We were a group of 8 and everyone enjoyed their food. Make sure to get the home fries. The coffee was good too. Its definitely all about the comfort food here. Its like an old time diner.

We have been enjoying Teddy s for 40 years. We keep coming back for the great food and service.

A chefs kiss of a visit to a wonderful place from my childhood. So very happy to bring my own children (6 & 3) to enjoy the ridiculously generous corned beef, hot diner fries, and strawberry pie. Absolutely returning next time were in the schwa. Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly. My two filled out some drawings for a colouring contest.

Old school style deli restaurant, feels like its been there forever. We stopped in for lunch, had some great sandwiches. Im pretty sure we were their youngest customers though!

Teddys is a fantastic place to eat. We usually eat there almost every week. Thursday my parents ate dinner there, to start with their order came out and it was not what they order at all. My dad order was salad to start, came with the wrong dressing and came in a dixi cup for salad dressing (anyone who eats teddys dressing knows you dont do small amounts ) then his dinner came out he had ordered roast sirloin and roasted potatoes and peas. He got roast sirloin and mixed veggies and mash. Then sent it back and got Liver and bacon and roast potatoes and peas. So to make up for the confusion he was told he would get a second desert because one already came with their dinner. He got desert to go. He only got one piece and whip cream was melted all over the pie. Usually they do not put whipcream on the pie when it is take out. So normally its very good here, not sure what happened.

Server was extremly rude

My husband and I ordered takeout on June 18/24. I have always loved Teddy s Reuben sandwich, however I found the quality of the corned beef lacking and the fries were not cooked well. I have tried Teddy s 3 times in the last year and have noticed subtle changes in the quality of the food in the last few years.

We will not ve back due to poor service and severely declined quality. We were 3 adults just before Dinner rush started. We each had a sandwich or burger with a side and drink. We could only choke down half our meal because it was very low quality. The grumpy waitress bought my side salad to the table 25 minutes before anybody else got food. She just dropped it and walked away before I could say a word. It was DRENCHED in dressing and clearly not fresh! The salad was comped (great) as it was inedible. Please improve your food quality to what it once was. Teddys is just another overpriced restaurant now. So sad to see what its become :(

Like everyone else, overpriced for mediocre food. Also, they ask what price range on this page. The first one says 1 to 10 dollars, I dont know anyone that would choose that...lol. Food
