Been a regular customer for a couple of months everything was FANTASTIC until today. Yesterday went in ordered every thing fine until it came to the potatoes two small containers filled one for me then one for my male child. The second one was immediately dumped back I to the tray and the guy says Im gonna make him new ones. Ok didnt think much about till my son said why did d go only dump one back why isnt he making new for you.? I said it should be fine. We live 5 minutes away we got home he got nice hot potatoes while I had Luke warmish. Today we decided too go with my husband . I decided to not get a wrap and get the chicken on the mountain. Husband and sons wraps made first. No problem makes sense then my order potatoes and chicken. Then my order is shoved a side and the guy tells my husband he is gonna make them fresh potatoes so 8-10 mins. Now Im thinkg wtf. So we get home my dinner is cold. Potatoes and chicken so it was thrown in the garbage. I will not return to in-store but I will happily have my husband pick me up one. The food cant be beat. Yes the owner has reached out, however I declined to meet with him . I am still upset and hurt with how I was treated. This will not stop me from eating the delicious shawarmas and potatoes tho.

I ordered Chicken Shawarma on Rocks and it was absolutely delicious. The spicy garlic sauce and fresh toppings were a hit. Aman, the amazing guy who made it, really knew his stuff. He even gave me an extra Baklava for my birthday.

Where do I begin? The food tastes like cardboard and the service is laughable. The portions went downhill and they are becoming more stingy. The garlic sauce and hummus don t have any flavour and the beef is always minimal and burnt. In the comments the owners don t do anything to solve the problems they see but give performative answers with no solutions or ways to make it up to their customers. The environment inside the restaurant is sleezy and gross. If I could give it 0 stars I would.

Got the family meal yesterday. The flavors were spot on like we are used to but there wasnt close to enough chicken to feed the four of us (and we arent huge eaters at all). We just make wraps with everything and ended up on with meatless wraps by the time we finished dinner. Lots of everything else, just not close on the chicken unfortunately. Will be back, just not the family meal.

My wife and I tried this spot on a whim tonight and this might be one of our new favourite spots in Oshawa. Both her donair wrap and my chicken plate were very flavourful and you could taste the freshness of the ingredients in each. We were also in awe of the portion we got for the price we paid. Seriously, come hungry, you will be hard pressed to find better value in the area!

Every thing is good, but as soon as more than 4 people enter the shop, service guys get stressed out and they cut the portion of meat on the order.... so others dont have to wait... These guys work really hard, very cool and polite servers but they just get stressed out when it gets little busy . Expensive food but its worth it

I really enjoy their food and often order here. However my experience today was not great. The two Indian guys working were talking about me in their language. They didn t realize I understood what they were saying. It made me very uncomfortable. My request to the the owner, please train your staff to not talk about customers and their order while serving them, even if it s in their own language. It s extremely rude and makes people feel uncomfortable.

This was unfortunately the most tasteless shawarma Ive ever had. The flavour of the beef and chicken shawarma, as well as the sauces were extremely mild. The garlic potatoes were also mediocre. I love shawarma, so I hope this was just a bad night, but I was very disappointed with this place. I didnt even finish the food. From this experience, youre better off ordering from osmows.

Honestly, I just tried Shelby s but I ve been ordering out in Shawarma 401 for the last 4 years. Shawarma 401 is much better than Shelby s. I really want a comparison due to all the hype and to be honest nothing beats shawarma 401 in Oshawa!!! Don t fall off the hype of Shelby s but if you do that s fine too as you ll quickly learn to realize that Shawarma 401 is far better!!!

Unfortunately, myself and my family had a bad experience with this restaurant. We ordered three shawarma wrap combos with various sides (rice and potatoes) and a milkshake. We ate the food with minimal complaints, such as the potatoes were stale, they were out of stock on a few items, and the wraps had the wrong ingredients on them etc. However, if that was the only issue I wouldnt be writing this message with such a poor rating. The true issue came an hour after when all three of us became gravely ill and had to frequently use the bathroom. All three of us were up all night with stomach cramps and diarrhea. The next day I was completely exhausted and could barely eat anything. I hope this was a one-time occurrence, however, I will not be frequenting this establishment ever again. I hope no one else has such a poor experience.

I bought the chicken shawarma platter and the food was underwhelming not much flavour, the pickle turnips were spoiled and the chicken tasted old and dry. The ingredients were old and not fresh at all. I will definitely not be returning. I bought food from here probably over a year or so ago and the food was so good. Been here a few times now. But this time I figured I would finally review. For thr chicken on the rocks large size, its under $15 and they literally give you so much. I have a huge appetite and I could only get through half so its 2 meals for me so would be able to feed 3-4 smaller people.

But one things Ive noticed recently is staff will take thier breaks in the booths (which I have no issue with) but they face time or listen to a movie on full blast volume. Great portion, food and service

Got the Donair Salad I was surprised that garlic and hummus didn t come with them. I feel as though I would have preferred if the price was just $2.00 more and it came with it automatically Instead of being asked to add it. I think garlic and hummus is an assumed part of flavour profile so it was strange to be asked to pay extra. I think most people take garlic and hummus with any meal from this type of food. The salad portion didn t have any flavour as there was no dressing and the donair meat was very charred/burnt and didn t have a very good flavour either. The staff were very friendly and the prices were reasonable.

As a massive shawarma lover this place is highly disappointing. How can chicken that is shaved directly from the pit be so dry? The chicken portions is generous but will have you choking due to the dryness. No salad dressing on salad ordered. Cannot add extra toppings such as tomatoes to their on the sticks meals oppose to other shawarma locations. Overall this place does not live up to the ratings.

Hidden in a plaza in north Oshawa you ll find an exceptional place for Shawarma. Fresh ingredients. Amazing portions on the platters and wraps. Very friendly staff. They just made a fresh batch of garlic potatoes and gave us a sample with garlic sauce on it to try. The sales pitch worked. Very nice touch. So overall awesome place for Shawarma and friendly staff. This was my go to place for Shawarma, till the last owners . But when I went there last year , saw that it was new owners . Its not even like Shawarma anymore . Big chunks of chicken , undercooked and dry , salad looked like it had been sitting out for days . Tried again yesterday thinking maybe they kind of learned as they were new owners , but nope . Food being prepared with no gloves , same big dry chunks of chicken , lettuce looked so bad that I dint even take it . Not going back here anymore

401shawarma Is known for their epic-ly proportioned family packages. We have purchased them in past and you do get your moneys worth! You get two trays loaded to the brim with meats, rice, potatoes, salad, hummus and wraps. The last couple times we have been there, we have gotten the plate dinners instead. You get two different types of rice, potatoes, garlic sauce, hummus, pickled veggies, salad, pita and the meat. Your tray will be Heavy and bursting at the seams. I LOVE to eat and can eat a fairly large portion; yet I always have enough for two days worth. I generally have the Donair plate while my other half has the chicken shawarma. We get these for dinner and finish them off the following day for lunch. Its essentially two meals each. The plate rings in at $15.99 and considering its more than one meal, its not a bad price! I would HIGHLY recommend getting the sweet sauce on your meal. Not sure what it is, but its tasty.

Ordered the beef shawarma on rice. Was looking forward to trying this place as I love shawarmas but was honestly disappointed. The meat at best was okay. some burnt pieces on the meat so hard to chew. The rice was good. Was not a fan of any of the sauces. I got about 3 different kinds of sauce. Paid about 15 bucks for the meal which was in my opinion for the quality not great value. It was around 20 bucks with a bottle of pop. Only good thing was the guy serving the food. He was good at giving me details about the sauce and what they were like. Overall wouldnt eat here again

Been here multiple times and always had great experience here. I got to take my wife here for the first time recently and she has a large amount of allergies. The chefs were able to provide numerous types of food and made sure all toppings were fresh so that there was no cross contamination. Everything tasted great, loved the team that works here!

Really disappointed. Ordered a large beef shawarma. I believe I accidentally got a medium shawarma or they drastically reduced the size. Once I started eating, all I could chew into was fat. Felt like all of the meat was fat. Feel slightly sick after eating it too now. Sad to see this. This place used to be my favourite shawarma spot here.

We have had food from this place many times, one of our friend recommended it to us and we loved it. The staff was very friendly and were very welcoming. The overall ambiance of the place was great. The food was amazing. The food quality was great, the quantity of the food served was also very generous, the taste of the food was very delicious. Since last week we have had dinner take-out from here for about 3-4 times and the food standard have remained the same and so has the taste. We also met the owner and he was very experienced and friendly, he is very passionate about his business and it clearly shows on how he runs the store. The chicken plate is our favorite and is highly recommended. All the sauces especially Harissa is amazing if you love spicy food. All in all this is an amazing place for either dine-in or take out. :)

I would rate the shawarma just 4 stars not because it was not good. It did tasted good, but I dont think it tasted like the authentic middle East shawarma. The mayo was nice. The staffs are really nice.

I went to this shawarma place. It s owned by non Muslim and, has an idol with photo copies and letter from other places saying it s halal. Based on my 10mins investigation, this place is NOT 100% halal

It was worth trying chicken on the mountains with chocolate milkshake . Will recommend people to try it.

Popped in for a quick lunch, food quantity, quality, friendly staff and halal (HMA) certified. Busy during lunch time. 10/10 would recommend and one again. Meals could usually feed 2 and family special 4 to 6 ppl.

By far the best shawarma and falafel in whole GTA. No exceptions Update: After the new owners, this place is not the same it is used to be.

Falafel was a mazing

I love the food here but I absolutely hate the wait. I wish that they would help people with single dinners quicker than they do I watched three family dinners go out before I was even served. There is really no excuse to make people wait more than 20 minutes. They need to realize that their family dinner is feeding six people for less than $10 a person when my chicken plate is $20.

Prioritizes catering, not authentic middle eastern. Just another brampton bought buisness.

Everything is perfect

I am a vegetarian and i Went in to Shawarma 401 after seeing their great online reviews. I went in at 11:20am for a falafel wrap. The open sign was turned on but the door was locked. After a staff came and opened the door I asked him if I can get a falafel wrap and he said they do not have falafel at the moment. Very disappointing.

UPDATE: I revisited to get my Chicken Shawarma Fix and the owner recognized my previous review and experience and was humble enough to explain his process and agreed with my experience on the beef. However he sampled out his intentions with a different cut of the beef and even offered complementary falafels. This shows how much the owner respects his customers and overall his business. This is how it should be for all small businesses and I have updated my review to 5 stars based on my last experience! I really want to like this place again after new management but I tried last few times and I havent had any luck. Last time I ordered through uber eats and it came so soggy and unwrapped and had no choice but to throw it away. I gave it 1 last chance and came in store and ordered a mix wrap and the beef was impossible to chew and was full of burnt fat. However the only thing that I gave it 3 stars is the chicken inside the wrap was still delicious! I also ended up waiting about 15 mins just for 4 falafels and Im assuming the oil was not ready and hot and therefore it was just soaking it up and the falafels were just fried oil balls at this point. On that note I will return for the chicken Shawarma only when the cravings hit but everything else I will have to pass.

hi. just picked up a chicken shwarma from you around 930pm today. I dont frequent Oshawa, but today I was in the area with family. I ate the shwarma on drive home. it tasted as if some ingredient in the shwarma had gone bad. and to make it worse, the grill marks on the pita were burnt, so every few bites I tasted charcoal. worst shwarma ever.

Shocked that they sell on the rocks and on the stix but they refuse to do half and half

Man they stink for their customer service!! We walked in 2 minutes after 9pm and were told they were closing and cant serve us for some quick takeout. Open sign was illuminated and the door was still unlocked, with another customer inside being served. They still had shawarma too... Guess they didnt want our business.

Either the reviews here are not authentic or there has been a recent change in ownership/quality. This place is not more than a 2/5. Below is my feedback: 1. Not authentic: no tabouli or ayran. The hummus was extremely grainy and had no flavour at all. Shwarma was not even grilled. 2. Fries were inedible. They were likely expired, and couldn t even bite into them - they were like rocks. 3. Shwarma itself did not taste anything like a shwarma should. Will not recommend to anyone, regardless of whether you are looking to get middle eastern food or not.

I recently visited this shawarma shop, and I must say, it was an exceptional dining experience. The food was not just good; it was outstanding! The shawarma was perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. The flavors were exquisite, and the quality of the ingredients was evident. The staff was friendly and provided excellent service. I cant wait to go back for more of their delicious shawarma. Highly recommended!

Came here for some lunch and we really enjoyed the food and service. We ordered the chicken shawarma wrap and chicken shawarma rice plate. Very good size portions that will leave you full. Seems like the food is all made inhouse which is great and fresh.

Cihicken smells,rice not good.and they ask extra a dollar for garlic sos!!! One of the worst shawarma restaurant.

Ordered Donair plate instead got 4 pieces of meat barbecued on tops of rice! What is that last time I checked donair plate has meat sliced on it!

Used to be amazing, now awful. They no longer slice the meat fresh for you. Instead, it sits in a tray, cold, dried up and hard. I brought it to their attention that I wasnt happy with that and suggested if a customer was standing in front of them that they should slice it fresh. They didnt offer that to me. Will definitely spread the word that this restaurant is no longer good. They used to be lined up out the doors, they were so good. Its a shame theyve changed for the worse, and such a simple thing too

Food really not good chicken was cold

Kinda foolish that they dont take order over the phone for pickup. A successful business owner tries not to lose any business. The taste of food has recently changed!
